My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. Ever since I adopted my little Angel a few months ago, I've wanted to get rid of her overly flaky coat and large amount of shedding. My vet first prescribed the standard fatty acid capsules. They were too large to administer by themselves and with pill pockets. Squeezing the liquid into Angel's wet food was out of the question as well, as she is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to supplementing her food with vitamins, medicines, etc. and refused to touch her dinner if it had the liquid in it. Exasperated, I purchased Ark Naturals Royal Coat and crossed my fingers, hoping she wouldn't reject it. Success! Angel actually seems to like her wet food even more with Royal Coat mixed in it. I want to add before I start my review that I no longer use Burt’s Bees products because I wanted something stronger for my dogs. I also originally bought this product with the intention of using it for one of my dog’s dry skin. With that being said I have a miniature poodle with severe allergies that caused him to scratch at himself until he was bleeding and scratched off the skin in multiple location on his body. He is now medicated and is a lot better with the correct products. This product did help with his allergies minimally but did help his over all coat a lot. His coat was soft and shiny after using the product and after a few weeks his dry skin that was caused by a previous product was much better. This conditioner is perfect. Barely scented. Doesn't affect my allergies. Tried first spraying brushes and all the static fur stayed on the brush. I have ordered this for my 10 yo Labrador that has had skin issues all her life. Yeast is the latest problem, even though she's on a species appropriate diet she has occasional issues. My Chihuahua mix, half miniature poodle has itchy skin and allergies and he white dog, I have learned white dogs tend to have skin problems, delicate skin and coat. My 5yr old tabby cat has groomed her tummy and inner thighs bare and would cough/sneeze often. I think she is allergic to dust after eliminating other factors from her diet (she seemed to have more symptoms if I gave her something with chicken in it). She also swallowed hard and would snore. I’ve been giving her Itch Support GOLD for a month now and her fur is growing back, she sneezes/coughs much less, and doesn’t swallow as much anymore when purring. Her fur is SO soft now and her eyes just glow. I’ll be stopping the drops soon and will monitor how she does. I’ve been giving her 6 drops x2 day in wet food and she eats it all without issue. I bought this with the Itchless Kit and then again, individually. It has worked somewhat. The itching has not gotten worse, but stayed the same which is a relief; when my cat stopped his ***** and before I knew of PWB, he could scratch 20+ times a day and I could tell he was in severe discomfort. He scratches now maybe 8x’s. He does not have Upper Respiratory Flareups like he used to so I would say this product, in conjunction with Omega 3 oil and Antioxidant helped make his immune system stronger. I have also tried switching dry food and some hair loss was a result. These products helped get both cats’ immune system back and the hair grew back in (aside from the initial hair loss). It’s been seven months, and I have gave a double dose but feels like it has plateaued now.
