Please be careful when using this product. I just went to my ophthalmologist yesterday and she said that she does not recommend that I continue using this because of the Belladonna. Belladonna dilates the pupils — it blocks receptors in the muscles of the eye that constrict pupil size. It can also cause blurriness and in turn affect near-sightedness (makes it more difficult to see objects up close). I was stoked to use a natural product, but wondered why my vision was a little wonky and more sensitive to light after using it throughout the day at work. Great product. I remembered that my previous eye doctor use to recommend this product years ago and thought I'd try it. I have really dry eyes to the point where they feel like pins are poking them. I had a painful stye that causes my eyelid to swell. It was painful when I blinked or move my eye ball even when it’s closed. I used this masked as per instruction, heated for 25 secs on 800W microwave (both the pouch and mask), placed on my eye for 10 minutes. Have suffered with eye cysts for many years now since I developed an allergy to contact lenses in my 40's, I am 70 now. The GP refused to do anything to help me, other than offer me some antibiotic drops once only!! This product is everything it said it would be. I have been dealing with blepharitis for years and have used a sock filled with rice that I would microwave every morning. But this was fairly inconvenient in that it would interrupt my routine of getting ready in the morning because I had to go downstairs. I did it because I didn't know there was an alternative. This product provides that alternative. I can now warm my eyelids as soon as I wake up and just before I fell asleep at night. So I have doubled the therapeutic benefits of heat on my eyelids each day. I saw something that looks exactly like this on Hammacher Schlemmer for 100 so I was happy to find it here for this price. I have some problem with slight dry-eye with the usual problems of the mask cooling off too fast. There is a scientific paper detailing how you can maintain the ideal temperature for the ideal amount of time by rolling up three wet towels, microwaving them, and then removing them one layer at a time as they cool off. NOPE. This mask is so much easier and heats to the correct therapeutic temperature without any effort or messy towels. Im more likely to use it daily or multiple times a day because its so convenient. If I wake up and my eyes are dry, it reminds me that I need to mask, so I can do it without getting out of bed and microwaving wet towels.To address some concerns and questions I saw in my experience-Heats evenly. Theres a strip on the back that heats up and flaxseeds on the other. The whole strip heats up and warms the flaxseeds and mine heats evenly- Do flaxseeds go rancid? The flaxseed oils oxidize very quickly when exposed to air, but you need to grind them otherwise your digestive system cant penetrate the hard shell and theyll just pass through. So unless you plan to slash open your mask, grind the flaxseeds, and eat them they wont go rancid and you dont need to worry about that- Takes a long time to warm up. It does take a few minutes for the warmth to penetrate through to the flaxseed side, but the ideal amount of time you should wear your mask is 10 minutes, so if you turn it on, put it on and sit for 20 minutes, its more than enough time.- doesnt warm up. 104 degrees is the ideal temperature for blepharitis and it feels barely lukewarm so this mask keeps you from overheating your eyes. Through accutane and lasik I have used these constantly. They are great. No eye irritation, no preservatives, just eye safe lubrication. Through both my eyes would get so dry that my kids would feel like sandpaper. During Accutane I still wore contacts and these drops prevented any issues with that. Post lasik I was putting drops in all day. First thing when I woke up, I would have to physically pry my lids open to drop these in and they I was good. It’s been a couple years since lasik so it is not that severe now, but I still need it in the morning. I have sensitive eyes as it is, so I used them a lot to essentially rinse my poor eyeballs. I love all varieties of refresh. Definitely worth the price. For the bottles, they expire 3 months after opening (no preservatives) so be mindful of that. The best Visine for dry eyes. I have a medical condition that causes severe dry eyes but the regular Visine “Tears” (as they were once called) would just roll out of my eyes and not absorb. Please be careful when using this product. I just went to my ophthalmologist yesterday and she said that she does not recommend that I continue using this because of the Belladonna. Belladonna dilates the pupils — it blocks receptors in the muscles of the eye that constrict pupil size. It can also cause blurriness and in turn affect near-sightedness (makes it more difficult to see objects up close). I was stoked to use a natural product, but wondered why my vision was a little wonky and more sensitive to light after using it throughout the day at work. Great product. I remembered that my previous eye doctor use to recommend this product years ago and thought I'd try it. I have really dry eyes to the point where they feel like pins are poking them. I used this product and it helped relieve the burning and the redness. My eye doctor recommended these artificial tears to me to treat dry eyes and they seem helpful only for a short period of time and then your eyes get dry again and irritated. I do have to put multiple drops in to help the burning and stinging sensation associated with dry eye but I do not notice major changes in my symptoms. I think these eye drops also take a couple weeks to work since I was told they don’t work right away. So, everyone once in a while, I have a problem where it feels lol I have sand in my eyes. And my god, does it hurt. It is literally the most irritating feeling in the world. Usually happens when I wake up in the morning and still feel really exhausted. I have tried other eye drops and I have literally tried think of sad things to start crying to see if it would help. Sometimes they do, but usually it's back within a few hours. I'm trying these out now, and while my eyes still feel tired ( I definitely need to get to sleep earlier than midnight. And having a desk job where i am on the computer all day, definitely does not help) the grainy sand feeling has gone away. One eye, it was gone with one drop, the other took two. But I feel so much better. Will post an update later though to review on long term relief. However, relief is definitely instant and I have no problems with being able to see or having cloudy vision afterwards. Great product. I remembered that my previous eye doctor use to recommend this product years ago and thought I'd try it. I have really dry eyes to the point where they feel like pins are poking them. I used this product and it helped relieve the burning and the redness. My current doctor told me if my eyes are that dry, my eyes would sting with eye drops in the beginning and to keep applying until it went away. I had to apply the drop back to back about 4 times to finally get relief. This was the same when I used Refresh tears. I'm just glad this product is more natural and cheaper. My optometrist says I have a terrible case of dry eye. He recommended I avoid products with tetrahydrozoline and lubricants because the tetrahydrozoline is quickly addicting to the bliss vessels in the eyes and lubricants can cause problems in the long run, so I got the Similisan complete eye relief drops. [from Similasan] Originating in Switzerland in 1980, the Similasan brand became popular across Europe. Today, Similasan remedies are widely used and well-respected in North America. I had a deviated septum that was surgically corrected years ago but I would often get a "discharge" of white "puss" that would gather in my lower eye (the left more than right). I had a Doctor of Optometry (DO) recommend Systane long-lasting lubricating drops but I never got more than 1-2 hours relief. I have adjusted the brightness levels on all of my devices, I get plenty of sleep yet this discharge would not go away. I was almost ready to just cave and buy another $15 bottle of Systane till I read about Similasan Complete on that *OTHER* site. What the heck, I mused at least it's cheaper than Systane. Took me a minute to wrap my head around Similasan's applicator: the bottle (vial) is glass, which is great and you apply it by turning it upside down and squeezing the plastic applicator. The bottle even has legible instructions, although I 'cheated' with a magnifying glass. After 1 day of using Similasan Complete twice daily, 2 drops per eye, my nasal/sinus discharge has gone away 95%. I will clean out any residual "puss" in the A.M. with a wet Q-Tip. It has great lubrication, lasting 4-5 hours per eye after applying. Take a look at the review by 'wizardofozone' on that *other* shopping site.
