I bought the Rescue Fly Trap last week, convinced it would just be more money wasted. Boy was I ever wrong, not only does it work, I’ve never seen so many dead flies in my life! I spent $59 for a MaxForce fly bait and killed a total of 5 flies, if I could return it I would! Imagine, spent $50 killed 5 flies, spent $5 and have killed thousands, you do the math, Rescue’s trap beat everything I’ve ever tried. You have a lovely bowl of fruit, a medley of colors. you got your yellow bananas, your red apples, your peaches or nectarines, and some little mandarins filling your bowl. Perfect for snacking and on the go. A couple days pass by, your beautiful fruit bowl is now being dotted by fruit flies and they seem to multiply as the day goes on. The sweet tender flesh of your peaches are now bruised and kinda squishy to the touch. At least we can take them out of the equation with STEM without using harsh chemicals on the fruits themselves. I place this bad boy near the fruit bowl and I don't have to worry about a fruit fly or larvae being accidentally ingested. The fruit flies swarm and get stuck in the jar and I think that's great. No mess, out of sight out of mind. I don't even have to worry about the residue on the fruits because it's safe in jar. I would definitely buy this again in a heartbeat. I bought some peaches from the farmers market several months ago and since then have been battling fruit flies. I was sent this product from Influenster for an honest review…and honestly it came at a perfect time! I also appreciate that it’s made with natural ingredients, just as the owner of a curious cat, since it is an open container sitting on my kitchen counter. This product is very reminiscent of something I made when I was first trying to figure out how to get rid of fruit flies – a concoction of Dawn, ACV and water in empty Oui yogurt glasses. But if you don’t have all that, this is convenient and doesn’t smell quite as vinegary! Perhaps if this came sooner when my bug issues were more intense it would have caught more flies, but I kept it out for two or so weeks and it only lured in one. I can’t speak to much on this product, my fruit flies died before the product arrived. I brought home a bunch of fruit and that is where the little demons came from. The multiples so quickly like evil little rabbits. I filled out the survey on influenster and forgot all about it. Of course I couldn’t let the little monsters take over my house so I googled home remedies. I mixed some apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dawn dish soap. I nuced it in my microwave so the apple cider became fragrant and sat it out next to the fruit. Covered it with plastic wrap and popped holes in it with a pencil to make little openings. It worked great and the flies committed  Suicide in my soapy fruit brew. When the vox box arrived it was too late. I couldn’t find the retail cost of this fruit fly killer but it would have to be cheap to compare to the way I took care of them. I do look forward to using it in the future. I got this because a couple times every summer I end up with fruit flies in the house so figured I'd keep it on hand. Well the time came to try it out. It's small and looks pleasant enough. Much nicer to look at than the contraption I built with the top of the 20oz bottle cut off and inverted inside the bottom with red wine vinegar poured in it. Although this contraption I built worked great, it wasn't really great to look at on the counter for a couple of days while it worked its magic. This little contraption works in a very similar way, basically giving them space to be lured in by the scent of the liquid but making the escape routes very narrow so they can't find their way out. The device came with 2 packets of liquid mix. You use them 1 at a time. They smell strongly of red wine vinegar so I imagine after using both of the packets it comes with, you could substitute rwv and keep using the device. I set up the device and left it on the counter for about 2 days. I didn't have any more fruit flies! Basically they go down in the trap and drown, so all you have to do is take the lid off and dump it down the sink. Clean and easy way to get rid of those pesky fruit flies!LiLiJoy1875
Received this gratis in return for a review. Package contained 1 trap with 2 pouches of liquid attractant. Filled the trap with one of the pouches (the other is a refill) and set it out in our Florida Room which seems to attract fruit flies and a few other insects whenever we eat out there, which we do frequently in the summer months. The trap proved to work great for fruit flies, as promised. Trap is filling up rapidly and I expect I'll have to clean it out and refill it before too long. Hoped it would attract some of the other pests like the gnats, but it did not work for them. Not complaining, since it made no promises other than for what it was successfully accomplishing. After seeing the low stars and reading a few negative reviews I was hesitant, but desperate and decided to still give this product a try. I am beyond happy to say these little things did not let me down. I took a picture of only one of them, but all 4 that I bought were filled up. These fruit flies had gotten so out of control while I was a way for a few weeks in my home I’m so happy this caught them basically all. The liquid did last for about 2 weeks. I’m about to buy another pack because there’s still a handful of them left and hopefully after that I will never see another fruit clue for many years to come. Lol… Just make sure to try different places to catch these things. I at first placed one on the windowsill and another in a different part of my kitchen. As soon as I noticed the one that was filling up quickly and the one on my windowsill wasn’t I switched it and placed it basically next to one another. Then I placed another 2 next to each other in the dining room as it’s adjacent to my kitchen and they were in there as well. I bought two of these to use in a nursing home room where there was a serious fly problem. After a month they have only caught one housefly and several fruit flies. I bought these last year and had more success than with the smelly bait ones that other brands use. I read the other reviews about ants, and here in Virginia we have LOTS of ants and termites and I must say that I've never had that problem. I did hang these from tree brances, barn overhangs, doorways, inside stalls and inside barns. Sometimes I used cable ties, sometimes hay string/twine. I'd be curious to know what other reviewers used to "hang" their traps or if they had them on a surface – which probably wouldn't be a good idea. I have livestock and had to hang these high enough that the animals couldn't reach it. I highly recommend this Rescue TrapStik – in my experience it's better than any other brand! The only other one I might recommend would be the Rescue TrapStik for Biting Flies if you have biting flies. And that one works great for regular flies too! Don't be discouraged, try it so you can see the results for yourself! Just find an area in your yard that seems to have more fly activity away from strong winds and keep it OUT-OF-REACH of animals and children! When I took this out of the box and put it out, it was useless. Nothing happened, no matter where I placed it. I decided that since dog poop was the attraction, I would try something. I placed dog pool in the bottom of the individual compartments, and placed it in the yard. Worked like a charm!! Now there were so many flies attached to it, it was no longer yellow, but black. I have tried almost everything to clear out the fungus gnats. Two years ago, these traps cleared them up, then I got lazy and didn't buy another batch. I regret it because I brought something to my yard that had the gnats in it and over time, they spread. Now, things are infested again, so I have the traps everywhere. I have been using a plastic container with jagged holes punched in the lid as a fly trap for years. This is much nicer and hides the dead bodies 😉 I add a dab of water to the drop of dish soap to ensure the vinegar mixes well. The Raid fly ribbons are such a lifesaver to households struggling with flies. It seems like the past two years it’s been worse in my area with flies and bugs. We purchased these Raid fly ribbons hoping for some relief. These ribbons are really good at attracting flies. They catch a lot of them. The only thing to be improved is the residue stickiness of the paper- it does fall down into your sink and can make cleaning the dishes a little harder. Not a lot falls down, but some does. This product is brilliant at catching flies I don’t like to use the spray killers as two of my children have asthma but I find this a really good product. It is a little pricey in comparison to some other brands but I also feel that it lasted for longer the cheaper brands didn’t continue to catch flies for as long as this item. I spent $59 for a MaxForce fly bait and killed a total of 5 flies, if I could return it I would! I used this product after seeing an influx of fruit flies congregating in the soil of my house plants. It isn't a great products and barely reduced the population of flies in the house. I made my own fly traps with construction paper and double-sided tape which caught more than this "proprietary formula". I suggest just making your own using online recipes (pretty sure it's just apple cider vinegar in this bottle). I'm not happy with this purchase and it barely worked.Karleigh K.
…the truth I tell ya. I recently started a series of hydroponic gardens in my house, a few of them being fruits and veggies. Plus we love our fruit, doesn't matter which kind.
