This does not get deep enough into the carpet. I wasted 5 cans treating every cloth surface in the house and it did not solve the flea problem. I have a 2 bedroom apartment and used 1 can per room; still had fleas a day or two later. I would recommend the Adams carpet powder for carpet and furniture, and a spray with eugenol for other surfaces. Works well. It might take a few applications or more over time, but this is true for professional pest control companies too. Vacuum everywhere. Spray and clean all nooks and crannies of mattress, box spring, headboards and anywhere else they may hide, including the walls, carpet and furniture. Do not apply too heavily, open windows and keep yourself and pets out of room for about 4 hours or so until dry. I also used a clothing steamer on the furniture because the heat can kill them. Linens should be washed and/or put in dryer on high heat setting for at least 20 minutes to kill bed bugs and eggs. I thought I could never get rid of them but now they are 99% gone. Keep up a maintenance schedule if needed too, including regular laundering and vacuuming and perhaps spraying. Saved myself hundreds of dollars pest control companies were charging. We used this after our dog came home from a friend's with a few hitchhikers. Other flea powders didn't cut it – but this stuff, with no added oils, nipped them in the butt. I've seen other reviews here that claim mixing this product into a liquid solution made it more effective – this is not the case. DE works by cutting open the bug's exoskeleton, which it cannot do if it is wet. If you spread the powder along fabric/carpet areas and tap it down with a stiff brush/broom, let it sit for at least 24 hours, and then vacuum each day for 2 weeks, you won't have a flea problem afterwards. I work at a pet retailer and still recommend this over other products. This definitely kills live bed bugs. Unfortunately, you have to find them for it to be effective. I strip the bed, wash the sheets and blankets in hot water, and completely spray all sides of the mattress and box spring. Then I spray the bed frame and floor. Lots of work. I had to use this stuff monthly for about 8 times before I was rid of the son-of-a-guns. One suggestion. Wear some type of face mask as breathing the fumes causes my lungs to burn. As many will tell you, this product works great even for bed bugs. With that being said, it does take 24 hours following exposure for your pests to die. Be sure to be reapplying to trouble areas to ensure their decline. May take several weeks to clear your infestation, and be sure to follow proper procedure to isolate items in your home you do not want to throw out or damage. I had my first encounter with bed bugs four years ago, tried everything.5min did the trick. The Harris in the yellow container does not get the job done. You get what you pay for. If you want to exterminate them quickly, 5min is the way to go. It does not stain so you can apply the product liberally. If you hate these bugs as much as me the extra cost is not an issue. I have a serious bedbug infestation in my house; primarily in my bedroom and living room. I have seen bugs climbing on the wall. I have used a black light and found semi-clear nymphs on the mattress and recliner. At night, I wake up itching to find rows of bites on my arms and legs. I often see the bugs on my pillow and on my sofa. There are tale-tale streaks on my sheets and pillow cases. I have tried all sorts of things to get this infestation under control. Bought a new vacuum cleaner and use it every night to vacuum the mattress and box springs before going to bed, put mattress and box springs in vinyl liners, bought all new bedding. So cleaning is not the solution. I have tried blowing insecticide dust, UV-light, and other sprays. The sprays either promised to kill on contact or provide long-term results. Nothing worked. As an test of the contact sprays, I have gleefully sprayed bugs and they stop. However, soon as the spray dries, they continue on like the rain has stopped and it is ok to come out and play. When I sprayed them using JT Eaton Kills Bedbugs Insecticide Spray (204-1G) in a spray bottle… one shot got them; they stayed dead. And this was on the spray setting… not stream. So I bought a couple gallon size jugs with a sprayer and have blasted my bedroom and living room. I have sprayed the baseboards and floors for the rest of the house. So I am sitting here over 24 hours later and for the first night in a month, I am bite free. This stuff works. Now I am going to buy the blue label stuff and repeat the application for long-term results.Tom

It took me a little while to figure out how to use this Hot Shot Bed Bug Killer Dust With Diatomaceous Earth. The reason being is, the tip of the applicator needs to be snipped off. It came with a cover so I assumed that I was simply required to remove the lid and then work my way with the product. Having said all that, this product is effective in preventing bed bugs, cockroaches, ants and centipedes. The product is white and comes in a powder form, do not breathe the product in. I used the product on my bed frame as well as the crevices of the mattress and I can notice a difference in reduction of all the itchy feeling I have whenever I get in my bed (due to bed bugs or other insects). for some time i have buy several products that claim they will get rid of those bed bugs and i have been just upset, in the past i have bought products from the Harris brand and they have work great,for fleas and thicks,ants and so on,i even bought the yellow regular can for bed bugs and it help for a while but the bugs return,i want it to try the black label and let me say that i am very impress with the results,i spray at night before i went to bed and in the morning there were dead bugs all over the place,the same day after getting home there were many more bed bugs dead,for 3 days i saw bugs dying and then to my surprise after those 3 days i haven't see a single bugs,the exterminator guy wanted to charge me a large amount of money,and all i spend was less than $ 15.00 dlls and my problem has been solved,i vacuum constantly and plan on getting a new can,to all of you out there that have bed bugs,i recommend that you get 1 can,just 1,and you will see the results.ricco3511

I recently bought two of these and will always be sure to have it on hand. One never knows what they may encounter and in my case it seem to be Carpet Beetles. I only used it once thus far but already believe it is effective. It doesn't harm the clothing but seems to harm what you may not see readily lurking in the clothing. Once you learn how to set everything up properly and learn how this works it’s fairly fast to set up. I like how compact it is for storage while still being large enough to clean our larger items. Me and my husband like to travel and you never know how clean a hotel room really is so this is nice to have to sterilize our stuff when we get home. It takes 8 hours to get up to the temperature it needs to kill any bugs but it has a timer that will automatically shut off the unit so you don’t have to worry about it. It seemed to work but I think you still have to be very thorough. It's a lot of work.Wash and dry everything.I divided it up in 4 different days First used it two days in a row. Third day I used two bed bug bombs and put some Boric roach powder along the carpet and wall edge. We checked every day during the process and found some moving slow. We hand killed every one we could. It's been a few weeks now and haven't seen any more. This was just in one room.This was recommended by out pest store but it was cheaper here.5frugal6

Before I moved into the apartment I am in, I didn't have an issue with any kind of bugs. Well ants, but that was it. When I moved here I soon found out that it was infested with roaches. And I don't just mean they scatter when you turn the lights on, I mean the walls moved. By the time I found out how bad the problem was, it was already too late, everything I owned is in here and if I moved, they would just come with. Then the bed bug problem made itself known. I was beside myself. When I mentioned it to the landlord and she gave me a book on "Things that Bug you". I have tried everything to get rid of this infestation that I unknowingly moved into. Even the natural remedies like the boric acid mixed with powdered sugar and the professional spraying (every month). Nothing is working. This does exactly what it claims. I really liked this product. I use this product along with other products from the Hot Shot product line to kill bugs and eggs. I like that the nozzle can reach inside cracks and hard to reach places. The only thing I don't like is that the product kept dripping out of the nozzle and other times the nozzle wouldn't work at all. I think the nozzle design needs some work.Lizzo20
