I use it on the low heat and low speed settings, but even the high heat setting doesn’t get too terribly hot that it’s going to fry my fine hair off. However, if you have thicker or course hair you might find it doesn’t give off enough heat to hold a style. The revlon one is really popular and may work better for thicker courser hair, but gets way too hot for delicate fine hair in my opinionZoey
My first time owning or using the fantastic little tool. I used the smaller barrel as my hair is short and tends to frizz. Was able to dry and style all at the same time. Hair came out impressive. I use the larger barrel on my granddaughter’s long beautiful thick thick hair. Comes out beautiful. Very easy to use and control this styler. We both get wonderful results that are quick and easy. I’ve only used it twice and feel that the ‘High’ setting isn’t hot enough. I need more time to have it work for me. I need to get used to it. Play with it. You are rushing me for an opinion!!! Great value!!! If you cannot afford the Dyson air wrap , this brush can basically give you the same results for less than $20. It works best on dry hair or at least 80-90% dry so to prevent extra heat damage. The biggest brush leaves the hair with more voluminous waves while the smaller one gives the waves more definition (can get more curly).nicoly.l
Yes, the hair gets tangled. The directions say: “Release curls by placing the finger of one hand on the cool tip and pressing the rotate barrel button with the other hand. Be sure to let the cool tip rotate while you press the button.” This gave me the impression that the barrel rotates. Silly me. The barrel did not rotate. I called the company and was told that it does not rotate, but it just loosens and lets you pull the brush out. It does NOT loosen. It actually pulls out any curt and lift that I managed to get in. It does not seem to have much drying power. The barrel gets hot, but there isn’t enough air blowing to dry my hair. My old 300W Conair does a much better job but the barrel is too big for my newly shortened hair. I’d still be using it if the smaller brush hadn’t gotten lost in my recent move. Since I bought the Revlon for the smaller brush rotating brush, it's going back today. Additionally, the Revlon Perfect Heat 300W Hot Air Styler and Dryer is marked 500W. This thing is flimsy plastic and won’t work well unless you have very thin, fine, short hair probably—and even then I can’t be sure. The heat and the air flow is low, there’s no options to choose from. I bought it to style my bangs and maybe help dry my hair faster, but it barely did the job. You could get a decent round brush and a travel dryer at Sally for the same price and get better results. I recommend waiting for the hot shot tools volumizer brush dryer to go on sale, it’s double the price but the results are about 200% better. Don’t waste your money on this.Kathleen

Dryer was very low even on the high setting. I can dry my hair faster with my regular dryer and round brush. This had no power. My hair is wavey frizzy. Medium length. Not thick. I've tried several of these, and this one is the best of them. It dries my thick, coarse hair quickly. Usually I let it air dry, while doing makeup, getting dressed, etc. Sometimes doing a quick rough dry with my regular blow dry with my regular hair dryer, but honestly I think this probably isn't even necessary, as far as for time sake. It may be quicker not to rough dry first. Mostly I do that just to try to minimize heat damage, because this does get pretty hot. This doesn't seem to do any damage, though, and makes my hair look so soft and smooth and healthy looking! I like the smaller barrel. I wanted to be able to create some wave at the ends with it, and I can do it to some extent, with the right technique. I couldn't with the bigger ones I've tried. My hair is pretty long with a lot layers. Overall I love this tool, and recommend it over most others of this nature, and it's a great price too!Nikki
Was going back and forth between this one and the Revlon one. After watching some YouTube reviews picked this one and glad I did. It does not disappoint! I have thick, long (mid back) wavy hair. I was able to blow dry and style a soaking wet head, right out of the shower, in 26 mins. I usually let me hair air dry first so excited to use it again knowing I can probably get it down to 15 mins. I will add, this movement to dry my hair is quick for me because I have been round brush drying my hair for years so there may be a learning curve for others. I also don't expect pin straight from always using a round brush so this does have some body and flow which I like. But you could quickly run a straightener through at the end if you like that look. I saw people stating it gets hot but that makes sense, it should. The barrel is ceramic just like a curling iron so it will get hot. Keep you hands on the cool tip and don't grab your hair right from it. Grab from the top of your hair, give it a second or switch to cool before changing sections of hair. That's also healthy for your hair too finish on a cool temp.A
Okay I cannot say enough great things about this brush.. I am truly obsessed. My hair is slightly wavy without much shape or style when left to air dry. Prior to the brush, I would often blow dry and lightly straighten or attempt to blow it out with a round brush and blow dryer. This brush seriously changed my life. I could not believe how easy it was to use and to style my hair! I have found that I prefer to blow dry my hair a bit instead of using the brush on soaking hair because it has been saving time. I will say that I definitely recommend heat protectant and hair oil because if not used carefully, hair can be pulled out. I would suggest watching a video or tutorial depending on how you want to style your hair but go get this brush! I have been asked multiple times if I just got a hair cut because it looks that good! I also find that I really don't have to touch it up once I initially style my hair and the look has lasted me 3 days between washes without having to redo it. I was really excited to try this out…my hair is fine and flat, the length falling past my shoulders. My first use was using it on my dry hair. I liked how it curled the ends under. The second time I tried it with semi wet hair following the instructions. It does take some getting used to…with the rolling direction, but other than that it is pretty self explanatory…however I did not find it gave me very much volume. I felt like using my round brush and blow dryer did the same effect. I will be keeping the product because it did make my hair softer than what blow drying would achieve. I am interested to see how it works in the summer when frizz is at its highest. Also, I tried both times not using any product in my hair. I am going to keep at it and add some volumizing products to see what results come from that. Unless my hair gets a lot more volume when using this with products, I may feel it is a little over priced.Danielle
I have tried various brush dryers and this one is pretty much perfect for my thin shoulder length hair. I use the smaller brush for more volume and haven’t even used the spin feature yet. Other products are way too hot but this high heat is fine. I can’t wait to experiment with the spinning!
I didn’t want plastic bristles because they pull my hair so I got this one. The bristles are soft unfortunately too soft. It doesn’t really grip the hair and style it. It just kind of very softly brushed. The turning feature is scary. It goes both directions and is easy to hit the wrong button. I do like this over all but not exactly what I hoped for. I love this dryer and use it often but it does get really hot. Like super hot! I have to be careful about how high the setting is because it will fry your hair if it’s set too high. After using it I have to lay it carefully down as to not let it burn anything touching it. That’s how hot it gets. I do love the power of it tho and how easy it makes my blow-outs. Worth a shot.

This particular brush came with two different size of ones. However, the sizing can be a little disillusioning as far as the results. Since my hair is short, I need an even smaller brush, because this one does not allow me to add any curls or waves. But it does give a good lift and a beautiful finish. I just wish they would make this with an even smaller wand, then it would be absolutely perfect! If you have medium or longer hair, you will not be disappointed in any way. I got this Volumizer because my blow dryer went kaput, and I wanted a dryer that wouldn’t make me look like I had gone out in a wind storm. This volumizer definitely works! I felt like it made my hair look thicker but at the same time smooth after I washed. I did towel dry my hair before I used it, as suggested in the booklet. It didn’t dry my hair any faster than a regular dryer, so if your concern is speed, you would need something else. However, it doesn’t do too bad if you want to smooth your hair as you colonize. I like the fact that you can remove the brush attachment to clean and I used it briefly without to dry my hair some at the roots before I did the rest. The temp settings are nice too, if you don’t want high heat or you have thinner hair, in which lower heat is probably better, and the cool setting is also nice if you don’t need heat. I used the plastic sleeve to cover the brush part back after it cooled to protect it until next time. Overall, a great product, and affordable.NolaF
I was given this to review by TryIt Sampling. Very nice little hairdryer. The attached brush makes it easy to blow dry your hair. However this is not for short hair. I have super short hair and I found it not to be helpful at all when the brush was attached. So I remove the brush and use just the dryer part and I got very nice results as well dried it fast and didn’t get too hot as I did not put it on the hot setting. So I let my daughter use it who has not quite shoulder length hair and she found it to be a very nice hair dryer as well. Although when the hair is really wet after a shower it does take longer to use this dryer. She found she used her prior hairdryer to dry the hair to just damp and then she would finish it with this hairdryer using the attached brush. She really liked the ease of use. How nicely it fit in her hand it was not awkward at all. It made the hair smooth and shiny. Not frizzy at all. She then tried it on my granddaughter who has just longer than shoulder length hair. Once again,It took longer to dry the hair using just this hairdryer but it really made a huge difference in her hair. It smoothed it down and made it soft and shiny. And it flipped the ends and made them bouncy and curly. It Gave her hair a whole new look. My granddaughter was extremely happy with the look when she was done. They have been using this study since I have gave it to them to use. It has 4 settings: high, med, low and cool. The medium setting we found to be the best. This is a great blow dryer for those who want smooth looks with volume. It is easy to grasp and hold while using and doesn't bother my wrists or hands, and is not heavy. It has several heat modes so you can choose according to your hair needs. I use the medium setting for my fine hair. I section my hair and use the dryer on those parts, working my way up. It takes little time to dry, as the brush lifts and separates your hair. You can go under the hair like I do, for volume, or for smoothing just brush it down on the hair strands. It can get quite hot, so be careful with your fingers. I can dry my hair much quicker with this dryer by taking sections, compared to a normal blow dryer and brush routine. It cools quickly so that I'm able to put it away when I'm done with my makeup. I use a flat iron to finish up, but normally it is just minimal, because the blow dryer does such a great job. I would recommend this for anyone who wants smoother hair. My hair is pretty straight, so I don't know how it works with someone with some curl. I can set it on the low setting to dry my bangs slowly, so I can get them where I want them. I would definitely recommend this dryer over some others that I have had. The brush is not as large as my older brand, that was heavy and harder to control My hair is just touching my collar and the other brand wasn't able to get the shorter hairs underneath, but this one does. I have been using this brush for a while. It’s lightweight and it doesn’t damages or get hairs stuck in it so much as the Revlon one. Quite efficient, the temperature doesn’t get crazy high either. But the head brush is detachable and always falls out of the handle while drying your hair… you can’t touch it because it’s hot, so you need to pick it up with a cloth and put it back on. Annoying. If they fix this design issue, probably this would get way more hype.ana.f
The first thing I noticed about this dryer brush was how bulky it is. The dryer part is oval shape and somewhat difficult to use in hair. I think I would’ve preferred a round brush. The handle is bulky too making it awkward to hold & use. The settings are easy to understand. There’s a hot & cold option as well as different speed options. The cord is pretty long on it. This dryer brush doesn’t curl hair but it will add volume to it. It does dry pretty fast using this and is actually better than just using an ordinary hair dryer. I don’t normally blow dry my hair but found after using this product, my hair becomes frizzy and that’s only because I have natural wavy hair. My hair will become frizzy if brushed when it’s dry. Overall, I’m pleased with the results with my hair. I think a product like this is much easier to use than just a brush and hair dryer alone.Shopaholic

I have owned two of these exact same models. Why? Because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED my hair when using this hot-air roller brush! My hair was shiny, full, beautifully wavy, soft – ALL GOOD! The downside and the real disappointment was in very short order, the brush would no longer spin even though it continued to emit heat. I loved how the brush managed my hair so much, I thought maybe the first one was a "lemon" and right away, I bought another to replace the first one. The same thing happened with the second one! And rapidly! No long term use before failure on both brushes. I still have the second brush and look at it longingly willing it to work, but alas, that is just not going to happen! I love what this brush and blow out do to my hair. But I have thick hair and the bristles are very weak, which makes it very difficult to do more than small amongst of hair at a time. Also, there’s a gap between the brush attachment and the wand which frequently pulls my hair and twists it into a knot. So though I like what it does, it’s very high maintenance and takes a long time if you have medium length hair or more.Christina 12
I really wanted to love this blowdryer. I've been looking for one with a spin brush because it is easier on my arms holding a dryer up. The heat power on this dryer is very weak even on high compared to my old trusted Revlon Spin Dryer brush that finally died. The brush is not removable which is another negative for me and takes more room when packing. And, I say it's poorly made as wow does it yank my hair which is painful. There is a space between the brush barrel and the end caps that catches my hair and pools it out. Big Ouch! By the time I finished drying my hair with this dryer I was amazed at the amount of hair stuck in this divide. I do not recommend this dryer until they make the blower stronger and correct the way it's made in the mold to fix this painful opening at either end of the barrel. I bought this for myself after getting my hair cut and thinned because I have so much hair and it is very thick. I bought it thinking that I would be able to dry me hair with it after it was washed. I will be returning exchanging it for a dyson one tomorrow. While using it today, it did provide hot air and some what dry my hair but I had to do it in little sections and there was no power behind the hot air like what you would get with a dryer. While I wasn’t expecting it to be as powerful, I was expecting it to provide some force behind it to help dry the hair and it just wasn’t there. Also once I was done I noticed that some of the bristles had fallen out into the sink during use. And it also made my hair more frizzy than what it would have been with a hair dryer and regular brush.
Shipping was quick. Using it everyday. Helps smooth out my slightly curly, frizzy hair without the use of a harsh curling iron. Still use an iron for touch ups & a regular hair dryer at my roots because the air flow out is not hot enough or strong enough to reach my roots. The air flow is gentle enough I can touch the barrel as I brush through my hair & the air flow is warm enough to straighten but not so hot that it burns my skin. I look forward to using this in the morning because the airflow feels snuggly warm. Might be weird to say that, but it makes me want to use it. I feel like this gives my hair more volume also. Only down side is the slider button which turns it on. It's easy to slide the button all the way up or down but a pain to slide to a middle (hot) setting. I don't use the cool setting at the top, just the hot setting in the middle so I wrestle every morning trying to get to a hot setting. Needs a bigger button projection or finger grip.amy9191998
I bought this today to replace a similar John Freida brush, that I loved, that died after 5 years of use. First, let me say that I have long, thick hair that reaches mid back and this blow dryer brush performed as well as my old John Freida. That said, you cannot expect this to dry your hair efficiently if your hair is soaking wet – it simply doesn’t work that way. First, take a regular blow dryer to your hair first and dry until your hair is damp, not dripping. Then part your hair into sections and use this blow dryer brush to dry and style the rest. I timed myself and my total drying time from start to finish was 15 min and that includes using the regular blow dryer. Remember my hair is long and thick so 15 min total for me is perfect. My hair comes out nice and silky and looks like a salon blow out. Very happy with this and hoping it will last me as long as my previous blow dryer brush! My hair is fine and this straightening brush from Remington worked so much better than others I have tried because of the brush design. The brush is deeper and laid out so the heat is on the base and it straightened all my hair, it held my fine hair in the brush well enough to be effective! It's a great design and shape! The straightener was easy to use and comfortable to hold. I love the features as well, it has three heat settings depending on your need, the light indicates the heat selection you are using. It has an auto shut off after 60 minutes, which is a great safety feature. I'm also impressed with the way my hair glides through the brush and the bristles do not snag or tangle my hair. Even more than other heated hair styling tools, your success with this one will depend on what type of hair you have and what your expectations are when styling your hair. My hair is neither curly nor straight, just mildly poofy and a bit frizzy – without heat, it falls into a weird unattractive pageboy type style so on days I don't style my hair with a heated tool, I pull it into a ponytail. Using the heated straightening brush styles my hair just barely enough that I can avoid a ponytail and wear my shoulder length hair down without being annoyed by it every time I pass a mirror. And that is enough for me to be happy with the brush and continue using it; it definitely fills a previously empty spot in my arsenal of heating styling tools as most days I'm not going to bother with a flat iron or heated rollers. I took off one star because the brush handle is awkward and my fingers land on the buttons too often; also it is a bit too heavy. Another negative – it drags though my hair less than smoothly. And it works best with slow passes through the hair which is fine until you get to the ends; it's hard to hold the ends of your hair in the brush. I have fine hair and use a flat iron every day because my hair is naturally wavy and I want it to be straight. Unfortunately, my hair is damaged due to my daily use. What I love about this Remington Pro Straightening Brush is the fact that it is gentle on my hair and helps control the frizz. Thanks to the ceramic bristles, this brush does not snag my hair. It glides right throw. Since I have fine hair, I am able to use this brush like a regular brush, but I would suggest if you have really thick or really wavy/curly hair, that you section your hair for best results. Even though my hair is thin, I still use between the medium and high heat settings and get wonderful results. My hair feels soft and silky. Another great feature is the auto shut off. As a 3c natural hair girl, I am always looking for fun products to straighten my hair and give it some curls that aren't as tight as my natural ones. I was very excited to try this out when I saw it included a round brush. First of all, the space between the two plates isn't very wide, and I am used to it being wide as it is on my other flat irons. That threw me off a little bit. Second, there is nothing that allows you to change the heat setting and because my hair is course, it requires a little more heat to get it straight. With this iron, I was only able to get a sort of puffy straight hair with some frizzy curls. I really liked the easy to use round brush though. I usually don't use one myself when I'm doing my hair, but this one went through easily. I did have a little bit of trouble with making a curl with the brush part at first, but I eventually got it. Also, it takes a little while to heat up. I think this is a good product, maybe just not for my hair type. I would recommend it to friends that have looser hair types. When I received this tool I was a little skeptical with the 4 in 1 feature but after daily use, I will say that I prefer this one to the Amika Strand Perfect Ceramic Styler that I received in my FabFitFun box and now I use the Instyler Max daily. I like to wash my hair every other day and what I really like about the Instyler is that it really does add volume when you place it under your hair close to the roots like the instructions say. It's great for me because My hair loses its volume easily. I also really like the lights that turn on, and how quickly it heats up. I have used this as a strighener and as a volumizer. I have not tired to curl my hair as I usually wear it straight. It straightens quickly and it keeps my hair feeling smooth and soft. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that because it's not very thin, it's hard to straighten the baby hairs around my face and that's very important to me. I have been trying to find a fit for my hair needs, with the right hot iron hair tool for years. I'm so happy I have found what I have been looking for. The Instyler max has cut the time it takes to do my hair in half. I can straighten, curl and give my thin hair the extra volume I have been seaching for endlessly. I am really impressed with this straightening comb. The design allows you to get pretty close to the root while keeping the heat away from your skin. The hair guides glide smoothly through the hair. I found this much easier to use than a flat iron and more effective than the heated brush. I love it! I have very thick curly hair. It usually takes me 1 1/2 hours to straighten it with a standard straight iron and this tool cut the time in half. Im usually fighting with a comb and having to lay the straightener down while I pick up the comb to comb it. Its a battle. This product solved my problem. The only drawback is my bangs are very short and it doesnt work with short hair. Will have to use old straightener till they grow out then into the recycling bin with the old. Will be purchasing another for backup just in case. I cant picture life without now.millibyer-0

I never knew how other women can maneuver both a brush and a hairdryer at the same time. Maybe it’s a simple task for most people, but it’s never been easy for me. That’s why I needed this product. I think it’s an ingenious invention! I have very fine hair that tangles easily, so brushing repeatedly while drying is a must to prevent it from drying up into a big tangle.I will say, this device is quite bigger than expected and rather heavy however, once you get used to maneuvering it, it’s really very intuitive. Just hold out/onto sections of your hair and brush from top to bottom, repeatedly. It helps to separate the hair in layers, too. This device gets the job done fairly quickly with minimal tangling.A final note of caution: The high mode gets surprisingly hot… I’d say it’s closer to the heat level of a hair straightener than a blow dryer. So be very careful not to touch the brush part OR the upper handle with your fingers while it’s on high heat. I think my blow dryer I've been using just went obsolete in my world. I've been fighting curly, unruly frizzy hair my whole life. Been using a professional blow dryer with a specific round brush, and painstakingly drying my hair with the little attachment and a round brush for decades. Gave up on that and started ruining my hair with a flat iron. Still never could achieve that shine I've always dreamed of. UNTIL now. I feel like this thing has been the best kept secret to women everywhere. Works fast, doesn't yank or break my hair, ALOT less breakage noticed in the sink than anything else I've ever used. Fast, and works wonders. The highest setting is truly hot, I only had to use medium setting and it works beautifully. It is slightly heavier than I would prefer, but easy to use for me. A bit loud, but for this hair I could care less. It's shiny, bouncy, and manageable, without a drop of serum or any leave in conditioner, just used a thermal heat protectant spray and voila. I'm sold. As long as this unit lasts, I will be raving about it. Thank you for making my life easier and helping to keep my hair healthy longer. My favorite thing about it? I can let go of the section of hair I'm drying and use the end tip to roll the dryer, and it doesn't burn my fingers at alll. Convenient isn't the word.Tasha
Unfortunately, it is true that this item is very short-lived. While it still turns on and blows hot air, the bristles have become warped and now snag and pull at my hair, severely damaging it. The design of the brush prevents removal of residue (like heat styling products) from being effectively removed — the styling cream gunk builds over time. The "cool air" setting only works with a high fan, so setting styles with cool air is impossible. Also, the labels for the heat settings wore off within a week. While any styling tool will damage your hair, this one is particularly pernicious. I have so much more breakage than ever before. My hair isn't ruined, but I am displeased. Also, the last time I used it, my hair became so hot that I burned my hand — on my hair. That was when I decided this product is going in the trash. It's too bad, because I bought it less than six months ago. While it is easier and faster than blowdrying, you'll be paying for the time gained in remarkable hair damage.Carrie

I thought this was supposed to be a hair dryer… the air flow is SO LOW. Even on the high setting. And the bristles are way too soft. Like newborn baby hair brush bristles. It just glides over the top of your hair without really brushing your hair at all. And because the air blow is so low, it doesn't even dry the middle part of your hair. So you have to use ridiculously small sections if you want your hair to even dry a little bit. I gave up and just let my little sister's hair air dry instead. It may work for you if you have very thin hair. but if you have thick hair, this blow dryer is an absolute NO. Returning it to the store today.
It pulls the hair, which get stuck in the top cover while the brush is rolling,, and you can almost hear the hair breaking. I bought it to replace an old same blu brush, which does a great job, with minimum hair fall, but this one seems different. Also, the bristles fall everywhere.Blerta S.

I'm not sure why people only gave this product two stars. I'm completely obsessed! I have super long, curly, frizzy hair. I like to wear it straight or in very loose, shiny waves. Normally I have to blow-dry my entire head of hair to get all the moisture out, then flat iron the entire thing to combat the frizziness and to make it straight. The result is very limp, lifeless hair. With this product I can stylet just like my hairstylist would. I have tried my whole life to learn how to round brush my hair and I can't do it to save my life! This product allows me to do that. I start by blow drying about 75% of the moisture out of my hair. Then I flat-iron the frizzy and kinky and curly parts of my roots. The rest of my hair I use this round brush to give it amazing volume and bounce and shine!Fernanda

Its not like the rotating hair tool from Instyler where you can rotate the hair from root to end…this is a dryer which should be utilized like how the barrel of a hair brush is used for heating by wrapping the hair around it and letting it dry with hot air first and then using the cool shot for a final ionized and wavy look. I like to first run the barrel along a section of hair a couple of times; then at the end I wrap the barrel and press the button to bring it all the way near the scalp..let the heat on for 1 minute and then press the cool button for another minute before turning it off and twisting the barrel off the hair. It gives the most voluminous waves. My only one con is it does take a little time…perhaps because I just started using this and must give it some time. I hardly give reviews but had to give a review since I felt that a good section of buyers are not using this the correct way. Also, I think it might work with the rotation method at the ends of the sectioned hair…I think trying to use the rotation method from scalp to end might actually cause hair to get entangled. These types of dryers have been a timesaver for me. I have been using them for years but this one hands-down is strong and reliable. Plus it is very pretty. If you have any problems trying to do blow outs with a round brush this will save you time. I find these better than just regular hot brushes because it really gives you the volume you want while smoothing the hair cuticle. 100% recommend it for medium straight hair.Cat

I bought this due to its similarities to the Dyson Airwrap for a fraction of the price. I have very long and thick hair and the blow-dry and brush attachments worked really well. They left my hair very nice and soft in under 20 minutes! However, the curling attachment does not work at all. It gets too hot and its impossible to keep close to the scalp due to the extreme heat. Also because it's so hot you can't feel if the hair is still wet when drying it and most of the time the curl doesn't hold. If you're wanting this for the curling attachment I don't think it's worth it, however if you want it for the others then it works well for the price.arifuertes
As someone who has tried and used quite a few different hair styling appliances, this one I can say will not be sitting gathering dust in a cupboard. It is light weight and so easy to use on my mid-long hair. I like the different attachments for different styling, which is really useful to have in one appliance. Great price compare to the Dyson Airwrap. This one uses hot air like a hairdryer compare to Dyson, which uses air suction to grab the hair. This one holds the style longer compare to Dyson. I have naturally straight hair. This blowdrys my hair beautifully however the curling wand doesn't work. It makes my hair somehow straighter than it already is. I've tried all different products, levels of wetness etc but nothing adds the curl. Maybe if you already have curly hair it will work, but not for straight which is disappointing.PetaC
