I use it on the low heat and low speed settings, but even the high heat setting doesn’t get too terribly hot that it’s going to fry my fine hair off. However, if you have thicker or course hair you might find it doesn’t give off enough heat to hold a style. My first time owning or using the fantastic little tool. I used the smaller barrel as my hair is short and tends to frizz. Was able to dry and style all at the same time. Hair came out impressive. I use the larger barrel on my granddaughter’s long beautiful thick thick hair. Comes out beautiful. Very easy to use and control this styler. We both get wonderful results that are quick and easy. I’ve only used it twice and feel that the ‘High’ setting isn’t hot enough. I need more time to have it work for me. I need to get used to it. Play with it. You are rushing me for an opinion!!! Before I used a round brush and regular hairdryer, which took 2 hands. I expected this one to only require my right hand. I found myself somehow using 2 hands. Give me more time, please.

This thing is flimsy plastic and won’t work well unless you have very thin, fine, short hair probably—and even then I can’t be sure. The heat and the air flow is low, there’s no options to choose from. I bought it to style my bangs and maybe help dry my hair faster, but it barely did the job. You could get a decent round brush and a travel dryer at Sally for the same price and get better results. I recommend waiting for the hot shot tools volumizer brush dryer to go on sale, it’s double the price but the results are about 200% better. Don’t waste your money on this.Kathleen
I looked for a long time for an airbrush with narrow diameter to get some curls when drying. This does it. Someone has complained that it does not put out enough heat to dry fast. Dryer was very low even on the high setting. I can dry my hair faster with my regular dryer and round brush. This had no power. My hair is wavey frizzy. Medium length. Not thick. I bought this for myself after getting my hair cut and thinned because I have so much hair and it is very thick. I bought it thinking that I would be able to dry me hair with it after it was washed. I will be returning exchanging it for a dyson one tomorrow. While using it today, it did provide hot air and some what dry my hair but I had to do it in little sections and there was no power behind the hot air like what you would get with a dryer. While I wasn’t expecting it to be as powerful, I was expecting it to provide some force behind it to help dry the hair and it just wasn’t there. Also once I was done I noticed that some of the bristles had fallen out into the sink during use. And it also made my hair more frizzy than what it would have been with a hair dryer and regular brush.
Shipping was quick. Using it everyday. Helps smooth out my slightly curly, frizzy hair without the use of a harsh curling iron. Still use an iron for touch ups & a regular hair dryer at my roots because the air flow out is not hot enough or strong enough to reach my roots. The air flow is gentle enough I can touch the barrel as I brush through my hair & the air flow is warm enough to straighten but not so hot that it burns my skin. I look forward to using this in the morning because the airflow feels snuggly warm. Might be weird to say that, but it makes me want to use it. I feel like this gives my hair more volume also. Only down side is the slider button which turns it on. It's easy to slide the button all the way up or down but a pain to slide to a middle (hot) setting. I don't use the cool setting at the top, just the hot setting in the middle so I wrestle every morning trying to get to a hot setting. Needs a bigger button projection or finger grip.amy9191998
I bought this today to replace a similar John Freida brush, that I loved, that died after 5 years of use. First, let me say that I have long, thick hair that reaches mid back and this blow dryer brush performed as well as my old John Freida. That said, you cannot expect this to dry your hair efficiently if your hair is soaking wet – it simply doesn’t work that way. First, take a regular blow dryer to your hair first and dry until your hair is damp, not dripping. Then part your hair into sections and use this blow dryer brush to dry and style the rest. I timed myself and my total drying time from start to finish was 15 min and that includes using the regular blow dryer. Remember my hair is long and thick so 15 min total for me is perfect. My hair comes out nice and silky and looks like a salon blow out. Very happy with this and hoping it will last me as long as my previous blow dryer brush! I've tried several of these, and this one is the best of them. It dries my thick, coarse hair quickly. Usually I let it air dry, while doing makeup, getting dressed, etc. Sometimes doing a quick rough dry with my regular blow dry with my regular hair dryer, but honestly I think this probably isn't even necessary, as far as for time sake. It may be quicker not to rough dry first. Mostly I do that just to try to minimize heat damage, because this does get pretty hot. This doesn't seem to do any damage, though, and makes my hair look so soft and smooth and healthy looking! I like the smaller barrel. I wanted to be able to create some wave at the ends with it, and I can do it to some extent, with the right technique. I couldn't with the bigger ones I've tried. I was able to blow dry and style a soaking wet head, right out of the shower, in 26 mins. I usually let me hair air dry first so excited to use it again knowing I can probably get it down to 15 mins. I will add, this movement to dry my hair is quick for me because I have been round brush drying my hair for years so there may be a learning curve for others. I also don't expect pin straight from always using a round brush so this does have some body and flow which I like. But you could quickly run a straightener through at the end if you like that look. I saw people stating it gets hot but that makes sense, it should. The barrel is ceramic just like a curling iron so it will get hot. Keep you hands on the cool tip and don't grab your hair right from it. Grab from the top of your hair, give it a second or switch to cool before changing sections of hair. I could not believe how easy it was to use and to style my hair! I have found that I prefer to blow dry my hair a bit instead of using the brush on soaking hair because it has been saving time. I will say that I definitely recommend heat protectant and hair oil because if not used carefully, hair can be pulled out. I would suggest watching a video or tutorial depending on how you want to style your hair but go get this brush! I have been asked multiple times if I just got a hair cut because it looks that good! I also find that I really don't have to touch it up once I initially style my hair and the look has lasted me 3 days between washes without having to redo it. Heated brushes are a genius invention. This particular heated brush has a special feature which I've been loving. It has a heated edge design which actually smooths your hair, keeping it frizz free, and also adds a bit of volume to the roots. It also works to easily flip your hair into which direction you'd like at the ends. Some other mentionable feature are its: -tufted nylon bristles -ion generator -3 heat settings It's super easy to use and I'd say the size is perfect which is important to me since my hair is a bit thicker and on the longer side – so I like that I can work with bigger sections and finish faster! I'll be getting so much use out of this heated brush because it's just so fast and effective! I'd say there's one drawback though as I've used another heated brush which works even on wet hair – this one says to use on Dry Hair so that's the only reason I took one star off. My review is this hot tool is two-fold. To start, this product is amazing and was gifted by T3 Micro. As you can tell from my before and after photos, this very clearly smoothed and straightened my crimped and half curled hair. It did so effortlessly, with only a few passes over each section of hair. The bristles allowed my hair to pass through the brush without getting caught or tangled (which often happens with my hair)! This tool is amazing. No doubt about it. If you have fine hair, or naturally straight -ish/wavy hair, I think this would work so well for you! My issue with the tool is when it comes to my specific hair type, which is naturally very curly, highlighted for many years, and frizzy. This did an amazing job battling the frizz, but this tool in my opinion, could never replace my flat iron. My hair needs the clam and pull motion to get every last bit of frizz out, vs the gentle brushing motion of this tool. I’m really not sure of an instance where I personally grab this tool instead of my flat iron or curling iron (which sometimes I use as both tools). That being said, this tool REALLY is amazing!! For how quickly and effortlessly it smoothed my hair, it gets 5 stars. I think it’s a great option for someone who has a different hair type than I do. Hair Type: fine, straight, capable of looking nice but typically has a blasé attitude towards life. My hair doesn’t like to listen to me. I say, “clean yourself up, we have to go to work” and it says “no! I want to stay in bed all day” (TLDR: it’s difficult.) Enter this T3 edge brush, which promises to work on all hair types and manage frizz and add volume. GOOD, do it little brush! Immediately upon unboxing this brush, I was quite excited. I’ve used other heated brushes and found them heavy and bulky. This one is a much nicer fit in my hand and not too heavy. Usage is simple and straightforward. Plug in, press the button to your desired heat level (indicated by the number of lights: 1 light/press is lowest, 3 lights/presses is highest). Once the light stops blinking, the brush is heated and ready to be used – a remarkably short waiting period. This brush shines on second or third day hair (pun intended, I confess). This is where my hair has some sleep creases, some portions look oddly gross and yet the whole of my hair looks like ✨it has potential✨ I start by using a detangling brush-this is not an optional step for my hair type. I plug in the T3 brush, set it to the lowest setting, detangle with a separate brush, and by the time I’m done, the heated brush is ready to go. This brush glides through my hair nicely and doesn’t catch on any tangles – such a relief as most heated brushes DO catch (yes even after detangling). I am unsure if that is due to the nylon bristles, the design as a whole, or both – but I am SO grateful! I am not a pro so the best I can do is tilt my head and flick my wrist for volume. Somehow, that seems to be enough – I see the volume at my roots after using this. Overall, this is the best heated brush I’ve ever used for my hair type. I will say I don’t love it on wet hair as it doesn’t seem it dries hair – so note that depending on what you want from this brush. I used this on my daughter's hair. It's very easy to use. It glides easily through the hair resulting in beautiful curls and waves. Their hair is normally very frizzy I noticed this kept the frizzes at bay. Now of course my daughter's hair length and texture are different. I tried to pick a brush that could work on both of them the same. No, you definitely have to get the brush that's recommended for you. Which sucks to me at the very least make it to wear I could change the brush head versus having to purchase another one. Now although it did work on both of my girls. I did notice it worked better on the one it was actually recommended for. Also, I should mention I'm African American. It didn't give my girls those beachy waves or overly curly hair. Omg everyone needs to throw out any heating hair product right now and run, not walk, to get the Calista PerfecterPro+. I can’t express how excited I am I finally have a hair style that looks like salon finished every single time. My hair is fine and curly. I’ve always blow dry and followed with extreme heat for flat ironing to straighten, but that process always burned out my hair and looked too straight. The PerfecterPro* gives my hair the perfect volume and a little curl towards the end, making my hair bounce with every step. I feel like a celebrity who has a professional work on their hair for hours, but I did it myself and took less than 15 mins! The name of this product is misleading. There’s no brush, only plastic prongs that will tangle and frizz hair. I really wanted to like this, but it just doesn’t work for me. The plastic brush creates friction and therefore frizzy hair, and the curling iron doesn’t really curl. Regular curling irons and even straightening irons do a better job creating the styles intended with this product. It’s not for me, maybe someone with a very specific need could make this work, but I can’t see what circumstances would warrant it. I’d suggest moving on from this product. Ok THIS!!! THIS IS AWESOME!! It’s 2:30 am where I live and I was like oh I never look nice for my morning zoom classes so I wanted to tidy up my hair ahead of time. And HOLY CROW I love it- 10 minutes later I have smooth, NATURAL looking straight hair. AMAZING. I have really fine, straight hair. But, I’ve been coloring it for years and it’s pretty damaged. So, it gets frizzy and I needed a straightener to fix that. But, all that heat was doing more damage to my hair. I tried a very expensive heated brush by another company, but it got so tangled in my hair that I couldn’t use it. All it did was rip my hair out. This one, goes right through even when I have tangles. And, I can get close to the scalp without getting burned. I love it! I love the heated smoothing brush! I was skeptical that this would work on my wavy frizzy blonde shoulder length hair but it does wonders! I like that it straightens my hair with body not poker straight like with a flat iron! Instead of just smoothing down with the brush on my layered hair, I also section my layers & lift up underneath & down for more volume! I am pleasantly surprised how well this works on my curly/wavy hair! I love that it has many heat settings . I adjust the heat up for my bottom wavier layers. Influenster sent me a Conair Knot Dr. All-in-One Dryer Brush hair styling tool to test and holy smokes, I am surprised and IN ADORATION of the outcome. During the pandemic, my hairstyles have been lower maintenance than usual and I don't wash my hair as often. I love the idea of big smooth volume but I want it to be easy and quick to create. My sisters happen to also both have a dryer brush and have been raving about how much they love theirs, so I was excited to try out the Conair one. This hair tool is touted as having the best hair detangling technology but I was cautiously optimistic about it working well for my bleached hair (topped with blue dye). My hair it can be fragile and takes a while to dry, knotting up from time to time, even with the various conditioning and smoothing products I use. Y'all this thing is pure magic for knots; it untagles them so they have no chance of growing into a ratty ball! It does recommend a lower heat setting for my hair type but I'm impatient and sometimes think I know better 🙂 ….. so I quickly switched to the higher heat setting to get my hair dry faster. I did not use the volumizer attachment for this simple style but I still saw more bounce and body in my hair than usual. I am pumped because this is super easy to use!! I doubt I will have any reason to hang on to my old hair dryer. I am now spoiled and loyal to this tool. It's also affordable coming in around $50 (think of it as a combo styling tool, not just a dryer), and it's easy to find online. It's lighter than my old hair dryer and I like not having to hold a separate brush in my other hand while drying my hair. I've got alot to compare it to. Lol I've tried about 5 different hot air brushes and just a week ago found my number #1 (T3). The Knot Dr.'s major plus, was that it didn't get too hot. When I say hot, I mean damage to your hair within first couple of minutes HOT. I always start out with my hair 80% dry to begin with, but several got uncomfortable hot almost immediately, they were out unfortunately because I liked other things about them. But, Conairs Knot Dr. did NOT get too hot (+)!! 😊, It also was pretty lightweight which was nice, because I have pretty long hair and my arms get tired. Lol Unfortunately, that is where the pro's end, for me. It just felt really cheaply made and didn't really have any power to get the job done. I also think that purple tail feather looking attachment is a complete waste of space…ridiculous. Just looks like you're getting an attachment bonus for your $ but it's a total gimmick. I am still so excited that the airbrush was invented for those of us challenged at giving ourselves an at home blowout…I literally, without fail, will get my huge round brush stuck in my hair EVERYtime!! 😡 But this one was a fail for me, although it may work just fine for someone else. A quick New Years review of another product sent to me complimentary by @influenster, in exchange for honest reviews. A couple of weeks ago I was sent @conair's InfinitiPro The Dr. Knot All in One dryer brush to try out. I've been wanting to use a product like this but due to the quick drying nature of my hair, I figured it wasn't a pressing necessity. My hair is straight, thin, and quite fragile so I already don't see myself using this product often. If I do, I'll have to make sure to wear heat protectant as to not damage my hair further. Set up for the brush is pretty simple out of the box, grab the handle and the brush attachment, line it up properly and attach until you hear the click. It also comes with a dryer pick to help add volume to your roots as well. Once the brush is set up, it's pretty simple from there. Ideally you want to use the brush with your hair just damp so you can remove the attachment and use the handle as a hairdryer. From there, you can use the brush to style your hair as you desire! There's three heat settings on the device, hot, medium and cool, and there's a cold button to set your hairstyle as well. All in all this is an easy to use product that shows results, especially if you know how to use it! I usually just let my hair air dry so using this brush added a couple more minutes to my routine but it did end up with a nicely styled hair for a change. Just keep in mind to wear heat protectant and moisturize your hair properly too keep the frizzies at bay and keep your hair looking smooth and shiny!

I never knew how other women can maneuver both a brush and a hairdryer at the same time. Maybe it’s a simple task for most people, but it’s never been easy for me. That’s why I needed this product. I think it’s an ingenious invention! I have very fine hair that tangles easily, so brushing repeatedly while drying is a must to prevent it from drying up into a big tangle.I will say, this device is quite bigger than expected and rather heavy however, once you get used to maneuvering it, it’s really very intuitive. Just hold out/onto sections of your hair and brush from top to bottom, repeatedly. It helps to separate the hair in layers, too. This device gets the job done fairly quickly with minimal tangling.A final note of caution: The high mode gets surprisingly hot… I’d say it’s closer to the heat level of a hair straightener than a blow dryer. So be very careful not to touch the brush part OR the upper handle with your fingers while it’s on high heat. I think my blow dryer I've been using just went obsolete in my world. I've been fighting curly, unruly frizzy hair my whole life. Been using a professional blow dryer with a specific round brush, and painstakingly drying my hair with the little attachment and a round brush for decades. Gave up on that and started ruining my hair with a flat iron. Still never could achieve that shine I've always dreamed of. UNTIL now. I feel like this thing has been the best kept secret to women everywhere. Works fast, doesn't yank or break my hair, ALOT less breakage noticed in the sink than anything else I've ever used. Fast, and works wonders. The highest setting is truly hot, I only had to use medium setting and it works beautifully. It is slightly heavier than I would prefer, but easy to use for me. A bit loud, but for this hair I could care less. It's shiny, bouncy, and manageable, without a drop of serum or any leave in conditioner, just used a thermal heat protectant spray and voila. I'm sold. As long as this unit lasts, I will be raving about it. Thank you for making my life easier and helping to keep my hair healthy longer. My favorite thing about it? Unfortunately, it is true that this item is very short-lived. While it still turns on and blows hot air, the bristles have become warped and now snag and pull at my hair, severely damaging it. The design of the brush prevents removal of residue (like heat styling products) from being effectively removed — the styling cream gunk builds over time. The "cool air" setting only works with a high fan, so setting styles with cool air is impossible. Also, the labels for the heat settings wore off within a week. While any styling tool will damage your hair, this one is particularly pernicious. I have so much more breakage than ever before. My hair isn't ruined, but I am displeased. Also, the last time I used it, my hair became so hot that I burned my hand — on my hair. That was when I decided this product is going in the trash. It's too bad, because I bought it less than six months ago. While it is easier and faster than blowdrying, you'll be paying for the time gained in remarkable hair damage.Carrie

My sister told me about this product while visiting in kansas. I have really thick, kinda curly wavy hair, below my shoulders. If you are like me i dreaded washing and drying my hair then straightening it….i spent money just to have my hairdresser do it…well today was my first try with this new blowout volumizer brush. Admittedly, when I started seeing these 2-in-1 blow dryer tools online, I was very skeptical. I've tried new hair tools in the past and I am ALWAYS disappointed. I have very long and thick strawberry blonde hair that is wavy-curly and I HATE using my straightener because it just flattens my hair out and leaves it totally volume-less. And then when I blow it out with the blowdryer and round brush, I end up with pieces that just WILL not get completely straight no matter how many times I go over the same strand and it takes me usually 45 min – an hour to do. Plus I always have to be super careful because I tend to put the blow dryer too close to my hair and burn it! So when I went to Ulta last weekend and decided to splurge on this new gadget, I was still skeptical despite the good reviews. So skeptical that I didn't even use it for a week because I didn't want to be disappointed and have to return it. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! Literally the easiest blowout I've ever done in my entire life. It took 20-25 min tops, my hair is silky, smooth, shiny and still has tons of volume. None of my hair is burnt and I don't have any of those stupid resistant pieces that still have a kink of curl in the middle of the straight piece!! If I could rate this more than a 10/10, I would! I have thick, dry, curly hair that is a pain to style. Blow drying has always been my least favorite step of my hair care routine and I usually end up smoothing my hair out with a flat iron because I am awful at doing blowouts at home. I got my hair done in October, and really wanted to have the same silkiness and bounce my stylist gave me but for the life of me could never get my hair that sleek (I suck at doing my own hair, really). I am so glad I decided to buy this thing because I went from looking like a total MESS to like I have a personal stylist. No more pringle chip ends going three different ways! No more wavy roots and smooth center hairs! My hair dried in minutes and it was like a revelation: shiny, smooth, bouncy! Not dry, dull, heavy, and lifeless like before. Fair warning, this baby gets H O T. Hot enough that it did sting my ears occasionally and sometimes if you get too close to your face it is uncomfortable. My advice if you invest in this – get you a really good heat protectant as well, like the best you can afford, because I have heard about these dryer brushes damaging people's hair if you are not careful and did notice a little bit of smoking and some dryness in places, but not as bad as I am used to. Also, detangle with a paddle brush before drying because I occasionally got it caught on random snags and knots can damage the bristles. Clean it everytime you use it, too. Other than that, if you are struggling to give yourself professional-style blowouts with a regular brush and dryer, buy this, and thank me later. I have naturally very fine hair, but quite a bit of it, which gives the illusion that I have thick hair. I've found that with using proper hair product beforehand, this brush allows me to blow dry/straighten my hair effortlessly and it always comes out looking smooth and beautiful. But keep in mind, like every hot tool you use on your hair, you should always always use some sort of heat protectant beforehand. I personally use a variety of different hair products to make my hair come out looking the way I want it to. My typical routine is to wash/condition my hair in the shower. Then I towel dry it a bit and let it air dry for a few minutes. After that, I go in with my Redken all in one spray mostly as a detangler, and brush my hair out until it's nice and smooth. Then I go in with my other 4 products (Redken -extreme anti-snap, Redken diamond oil, L'ange rival heat shield, and lastly L'ange sorbet botanical smoothing balm). I've found that this combination with my hair works amazingly. And makes using this brush even better as far as the finished look goes.Jessica B.
I have used this twice so far once on dry hair and once on wet hair. I have Medium to thick hair few inches below my shoulders somewhat wavy underneath. It worked pretty good on my dry hair made it look fresh and was quick to use added a little bit of volume but not as much as I was hoping (used on low setting then cool to finish). On my wet hair I ran my blow dryer thru it for a few mins first and then use this. I think it took twice as long then blow drying my hair. I had to go over each section at least 6 times it was difficult getting the back of my hair to dry straight( used on high setting then cool to finish). I ended up getting it mostly dry in the back but still a little damp and not as straight as the rest of my hair. My hair looks shiny but doesn't feel very soft like when I blow dry my hair and I used the same products/amount I would when I blow dry my hair. I also think its pulling more hair out then my round bush does. It seems well made and would think it works better on thinner hair. I may try it a couple more times but have a feeling I will be returning it.CL
This is the perfect combo of a hair brush and blow dryer in one. I have very thick, heavy hair and in the past I have given up on blow drying my hair because its so thick it holds the moisture in so drying it would literally take an hour. I used this for the first time and i struggled for a bit because its a little awkward to use if you dont know what you are doing but it left my hair perfectly dry in a few passes and kept it unbelievably straight!! Since my hair is so heavy, I wasnt able to get that luscious volume right off the bat but as a joke I used it on my husband (who is a great sport) and his hair is thinner and lighter than mine and it gave him a ton of volume and made his hair so soft and shiny. OK WOW – I never leave reviews but I had to for this!!!! I’m the laziest person when it comes to doing my own hair, but I love the blowout look AND THIS WILL GIVE IT TO YA SIS!!!! I took a before pic of my hair in its natural habitat (I washed my hair last night and let it air dry so it’s naturally wavy and crazy) the next day I decided to try this on my hair I didn’t even put any product before, (because I forgot to) so the end result is the pic you see and I know I might need more practice but for a FIRST TIME in under 30 minutes??? It's a good brush don't get me wrong but it's not worth the money. Don't see a difference in quality from other cheaper hair tools. It does create beautiful curls and gives that blowout look but it takes a long time. You need to hold the hair strand on the brush for a couple of minutes to get the curl, when it would take you around 10-15 seconds with a classic hair curler. Nice overall finish to the hair but not the easiest tool to use.Irina
O M G! I cannot afford to keep up with influencers however this AMIKA brush is amazing! I have thick, curly, frizzy, and wavy hair. In order to straighten it I have to blowdry it with a round brush blow-drier, then spend at least 20-30 minutes sweating (and I mean sweating!) in my bathroom to flatten my hair. Sometimes I can get the roots and sometimes I'm just too hot and tired to do them, so my hair sometimes will have a slight ridge. I bought this Amika brush/iron after seeing an influencer's video, it just arrived and my hair looked like a lion's mane! When I used the Amika tool, I couldn't believe how easy it was to use and how quickly it heats up. My hair looks like I just stepped out of the salon! The influencer was right, it does give you a definite blowout look and makes your hair so smooth without frying the heck out of it! I went to ask my son something after I straightened my hair and he asked me when I went to the salon! LOL, he knows the struggles I go through with my hair, and for him to notice that says a lot! I purchased the 60mm L’ange. I was hoping to simplify my daily hair routine with this appliance, but not so. I think it works well with damp hair, but it’s not strong enough to blow dry hair that’s completely wet. It does help smooth and bend the top layer of the hair well for my cut, but is too large for shorter hair lengths. I have a Bob cut with slight stacking at the back that angles longer on the sides, to below the chin. I still have to use my standard hair dryer with a smaller round brush on the nap of my neck and for my bangs and to take excess moisture out of my hair. I have fine hair that is reasonably thick, so I was hoping this would also give me volume. I get more volume using a large round brush and a hair dryer. The 60mm L’ange does help smooth the hair, but the metal base on the brush head does heat up quite hot so using a heat protectant is a must. It’s another styling tool that can help smooth hair providing its damp, not wet, and has some length to it. I think there are other similar appliances on the market that cost a little less that can provide the same results.Leanna A.
About a year an a half ago, I bought the very well-known, cult-favorite brush dryer (you know, the dark pink and black one!) to replace an incredibly old Conair that finally gave up the ghost. Well, I kinda liked it, but I kinda hated it, too. You see, my hair got so hot while using it I actually had to use a heat glove (like the ones that you use with a curling wand) just so I wouldn't burn my hand while handling my hair. I thought that was a bit ridiculous; not to mention damaging to my hair. My stylist (also my SIL) agreed that particular brush dryer got waaay too hot and suggested I go up-market a bit. After researching other dry brushes (including Dry Bar and Dyson), I came across an incredible sale on the L'ange Le Volume 75 MM and figured that was the sign I needed to make my final decision. I am beyond pleased with the Le Volume, it doesn't get nearly as hot as the Revlon brush dryer so I have ditched the heat glove when blow drying my hair which makes both my fingertips and hair very happy and singe-free. I love the fact that the Le Volume comes with a protective shield for the bristles; no need to worry about bent bristles during storage or when packed in my suitcase for travel. It’s been over a year since I purchased this, after using a Revlon brush for a couple of years before that. I will preface this by saying I only blow dry my hair once or twice a week, so can’t speak to what it’s like if you use this every day. The reason I made the switch is because the other dryer brush literally set off my smoke alarm, multiple times. I figured if it was doing that, probably not great for my hair. I’ve not had that problem with this brush even once. Obviously that should be the lowest bar, but there are a bunch of reasons I prefer this tool and highly recommend it. With the other, my hair stylist commented a few times in how I was getting a lot of split ends, something that I didn’t usually have. With this product, that’s not happening. The other made my hair feel like straw after a while. I literally just used this and my hair feels soft and healthy, not dry or brittle. It’s also not as hot to the touch – I burned myself on the regular with the other one. And then lastly, I will say, it’s lasted. I probably replaced the other dryer 3 times in 2 years. If this does eventually burn out – it happens to the best of them over time – I won’t hesitate to buy another one. I’ve been using the L’ange heat protector with it, but otherwise, using all the same products as before (when I used a different brand of heat protector). It’s worth the money, so if you’re thinking “Eh, how different can it really be from the cheaper ones,” the answer is vastly different.

So I bought both the bedhead at retail price and the Drybar blow dryer brush, on sale and mostly with points. Full disclosure, I only paid $60 for the drybar, so it wasn't a huge loss to experiment with which I like. Here are my thoughts: Bedhead wins on price for sure, though since I only paid like $60 for the drybar one I'm going to keep it because it's not *that* much more expensive and I'm curious as far as lasting, which one will keep up through time (which is TBD obvi) Drybar wins on handle comfort. It's much smaller in diameter both in the brush and the handle than the bed head, which makes it much less heavy and comfortable to hold. I also love the square tip because it makes it super easy to notice by feel if I'm losing the angle I want. They both have only two heat settings and a cool function, but here's where things get strange. I feel like the drybar is the same hotness, but it made my hair much frizzier the first time I used it than the bedhead. Like super frizzy! The second time I used it I switched to the lower setting when I was near my roots which helped, but makes it annoying to keep flipping between. Temp wise they feel the same, but I think drybar blows harder on high which is causing the frizz. So for blow power and heat drybar was higher but bedhead wins because more power isn't necessarily better, like standing in front of a jet engine might dry my hair fast but it'd be a mess lol They also both dried my hair in the same amount of time, even with the more power of the drybar, probably because I had to switch to low so often to avoid frizz. So they tie here as far as time (about 8 minutes total). I also think even though the handle was more comfortable with drybar, my hair got stuck in it a few times and that was so annoying. It's never happened with the bedhead and I think it's because it's wider. Overall I give bedhead an 8, room for improvement in the handle design and adding the square to the top sounds stupid but when I can feel it level in the back it makes it so much easier. Drybar I'd like less power and a wider design to avoid hair pulling and frizzing. And the retail cost is definitely not worth it to me so that brings it to a 6. I have tried other more expensive name brand hot air brushes. They didn’t work as good as this Bed Head. This is the best for my thick course frizzy hair. Tourmaline does not dry out hair. I wanted a very hot, 3” oval barrel, high wattage. Some may need extra care to get used to but it’s manageable. Dries hair quickly, with salon like finish. Smooths hair. No snagging or tangling. I use no other hair tools. Not louder than other dryers. Use ear plugs if sensitive. I would definitely buy this dryer again. Hope it doesn’t burn out for awhile anyway. Definitely worth it, price, for quality of hair tool. Works better than expected and better than more expensive tools.Carole
First off my fault for not reading this was oval. It's about 4 1/2" from bristle tip to bristle tip on the wide side and 3" on the other. The barrel itself seems to be 3" X 1 3/4". The handle is kind of big too and my hand cramps when holding it. As far as loudness goes, it's not bad. I would say typical hair dryer. This did not give my hair the fullness I was expecting and got from my old round brush hair dryer. I can see where it would be better for long hair or for people looking for something to straighten there hair while drying. As now I've opened and used it I will keep trying to make it work, but for my fine, straight, somewhat short hair, I am not impressed.Unimpressed

I'm so glad that I ordered this item. As a single mom and sole care giver of my disabled 6 year old, I don't have very much "me time". This curling iron heats up so quickly, start to finish I'm done in 3-5 minutes. I love the temperature control, the back of my hair is pretty stubborn to take a curl. I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair. I have only ever used a flat iron before. When I bought this I was actually shopping for a replacement for my awesome, but 16+ year old flat iron. I bought this on whim, because honestly, the price. I even asked the Ulta associate about their return policy because I was sure this tiny thing wouldn't work in my giant, poofy, frizzy hair. I was 98% sure I was returning it. Now, as another reviewer said this will not really straighten you hair if you have A LOT of hair, although it did better than expected, but it would make wavy hair pretty smooth. It's not going to give you flat iron results. It also didn't really turn my ends under the way I like. What it did do, and what I actually bought it for was to straighten a terrible cowlick that I have on one side of my head that kinks up over night no matter how satiny or silky my pillowcase is or how careful I am to not sleep on that side of my head. The first morning that used this I had a particularly tossy-turny night of sleep and my hair was a complete mess. I thought it was going to be a ponytail day. But this little thing straightened out all the kinks and left my hair looking like the day before when it was freshly ironed. I'm actually really glad I purchased this and I almost wish I'd purchased the full size unit, but this works just fine. Especially for the price point. At the same time that I bought this I bought a pretty pricey flat iron that was a huge disappointment and will be getting returned. I have thick wavy hair and I like to straighten and smooth my hair every day so I usually use a hair straightener every day. I have never had a brush that straightens my hair so this product was something I was very intrigued by and excited to use. The brush is compact which I absolutely love! I love small appliances that don't take up a lot of space, it would be great for people who travel since it's so compact. It's simple to use, you push a button and it heats up quick. It does a good job at making my hair frizz free and smooth which I really like. I did have to use it a couple of times on the same strands of hair to get stick straight hair. I have a lot of hair so if I am in a rush I will just use the mini brush to smooth out the top layers of my hair. The Instyler Mini brush is a versatile product for sure. I had never used a ceramic straightening brush before but this product made me fall in love with it! I also did not know Instyler had ceramic brushes but glad I now have one since I really enjoy Instyler products. I feel like it makes my hair look great no matter what look I am aiming for. I am actually planning on buying the brush for my mom as a gift since she has really frizzy hair and she is looking for something to help tame away the frizz. I had the Profecter Styler (by Calista Tools) prior to this styler which is the exact same product for half the cost. After 5 years, my Profector styler stopped working. I started searching on the internet immediately and found this one and decided to try it. I was able to purchase this product in person the next day which was great as I depend on this type of a styler for my hair. I am in my late fifties and have always had baby fine hair. My hair length is between my chin and shoulders. I usually flip my hair at the ends which is a very good style for me. This styler works GREAT for this.Carla
I have curly/wavy thick hair. Depending on the humidity levels and how much or which shampoo and conditioner I used and how much oil I had in my hair before I washed them (many variables in short) my hair can be very curly with tight ringlets or more towards wavy side. I should mention the use of dryer makes them very frizzy and they are frizzy to being with, so I let my hair air dry. So its unpredictable result after letting my hair air dry for 3 to 4 hours. I can use my ceramic straightener and it works wonders on my hair, but like dryer it also takes at least 30 minutes for the length and amount of hair I have. However I get bored with the simple straight hair after a while as well. And they are rare days my hair dries wavy it looks good on me as well. I had not found a way to consistently achieve that kind of hair with waves but no tight curls making hair look less shiny and not well kept. So what I needed was a softer heat that would get rid of the tighter curls but not make it completely straight. Also with the straightener I have to spend 30 minutes once I start, with this I can customize depending on how much smoothing out I need and how much time I have. I just love the output after I use this. It keeps the natural volume my hair has compared to the straightener that gets rid it. It does not look like I have done anything specially, any heat treatment, it looks like my natural wavy, voluminous, air dried hair. Also with less heat, I am causing less damage. So if you are somewhat similar to me, need more of a smoother than a straightener or curler and don't want to spend hours on drying and curling or straightening then this is your product. I have fine hair and usually would stick it up to 'style' it. However, it was getting damaged, so I got it cut short, and then had two problems – one, I didn't want to wash it every day, but it looked horrible otherwise; and two, curling irons and rollers are not for me (I travel too much and my scalp burns too easily). I researched this and saw demos, but was still a little skeptical since I am just not good with tools no matter how easy they look (I lack that magic gene that enables you to style you hair I guess). Long story short, I love it. Just a few minutes and a few flicks and my hair looks like I just had it done in the salon. Even hours later it still looks good, where usually my fine hair will just flop and wilt when I try to style it. The worst part about it was trying to find it – apparently they're very popular and the store indicator wasn't always accurate (I ended up ordering it online). I had just gotten my hair cut after keeping it long for more than 2 years to a very short style. My hair is fine strands that are very straight; I needed something to give my hair some body and lift. This hot brush does the trick! I can get as much, or as little, curl and lift as I want. I would definitely recommend this item to a friend. The only issue I have is that on occasion while styling I have burned my hand, I am, however, very limited in my styling abilities, could be user error. . . This product was from a third party. At this product was in Walmart store, and only cost $8.99, and they charge me $22 from pharmapack! Took it back to the store and it was a hassle. I had never tried one of these, just curling irons which leave crimp marks on my fine, thin hair. When a friend said she was getting her sister one for Xmas, a light bulb went off in my head: I should try one! When I saw how reasonably priced they are @ Walmart.com, I thought what's to lose? Glad I tried it, it works great. This smaller diameter is perfect for my very short hair. I just roll it through my hair like a round brush, to pick up a section ( without using comb or my fingers to help) and roll it, hold and pull it out, move to another area. Wonderful! Does just what I wanted: a lot of body/thicker feeling hair and not as stick straight looking but not 'curled' looking. Fast & easy. The unit appears like good quality so I'm expecting it to last. Conair is a name that's been around for a while and I've owned their products in the past.

I've had this product for about 6 years and I use it frequently. I purchased it long before the recent craze of air brushes because I love the 90s blow out style but I've never been able to do it with a regular dryer and brush. I would like to use an analogy to describe this product: This product is like a pair of tweezers. You could use only tweezers to maintain your eyebrows and have great brows. Anyone can use tweezers, they are simple to use and precise, but it will take you more time to maintain your brows. Using wax or other methods involves more tools and more skills, but it can be much faster and get the same result. In summary, the blowdryer feature on this thing is so wimpy. It takes longer to blow-dry my hair with this tool, but my hair looks silkier and smoother because I lack the skills to blow dry my hair properly using a traditional blowdryer and a round brush. I will continue to use this tool, but I hope they develop a more high powered version soon because I don't like how long it takes to dry the hair.Sette
If you are like me and have never been so great at maneuvering a hair dryer and roundbrush for at-home blowouts, I really highly recommend this! I have a lot of thin, wavy hair that gets very puffy and has very inconsistent texture. This thing makes it incredibly smooth with much lower heat than a curling or straightening iron. It also makes it really easy to build volume, swoop hair a certain direction etc. My ONLY complaint is that the part of the barrel that your hand wraps around is very wide in diameter. My hands are on the small side, and it does make my hand tired and make it a little harder to use than if it was thinner. But it's lightweight and does the job of two tools in one, so it's something I can deal with! Love this thing! Amazing for the price! I usually HATE styling my difficult hair but could see this being an every day kind of tool because it is so easy to use. One small recommendation – it's less powerful than a "real" hair dryer, so dry your hair until it's just barely holding any moisture first for the fastest results.Emily
