We looked at the different stationary bikes for some time before ultimately going with this one. I wasn't worried with 'riding w/others' & didn't find a reason to have the specific shoes especially since it's 2 of us. It's quiet & the dial for resistance is smooth. Handlebars are positioned well comfortable. Seat could be a little cushier, there's a possibility to replace that part. Also, no need for a monthly subscription, which apparently you need for others to work. Overall, I am very happy with this bike & would recommend for those who are self motivated & can either watch regular tele or pull up a workout on Amazon Prime. For me, I just couldn't find the need to spend twice as much to be in the 'in crowd' riding what everyone else is, but that's how I roll! This is an awesome bike!! It was easy to set up (I did it by myself; 57 y.o. female), silent operation (great for apartment dwellers), very well made, and exceptionally sturdy, the wheels and the somewhat compact design make it easy to store away, the electronics are user friendly. I ordered the comfort seat because I don't have much padding on my bum. I wear a chest strap and, the armband monitor that's included works very well. Being able to charge your phone while riding is an unexpected bonus! I love the SPD clips on the pedals with the option to use the basket! I cannot think of any negatives…really! The JRNY membership is a nice bonus. I open it on my phone and mirror the screen to my TV. No need for a tablet! If you do some research, you will find that most of the screens that come with spin bikes are not very good and don't last long. When I am doing the virtual journeys, you can actually feel the bumps in the road…crazy fun! The 3 lb dumbbells are another nice bonus! I honestly, couldn't be happier. I bought this bike from Dick's about six months ago. I use it almost every day and am quite happy with it after a few additions and modifications. First, the few negatives: I modified the water bottle holder so that it is more forward to avoid hitting the bottle when standing. I swapped the pedals that came with the bike for SPD pedals which work with my mountain bike shoes. I didn't find the JRNY app to be useful. The bike display is OK except for the cadence/RPM display. I have no idea why they use that bar rather than displaying a number. I use zwift and the bike pairs with zwift nicely and displays cadence in the zwift app along with heart rate and power. I'm not certain how the bike reports power and there's some evidence that it overstates power. I don't race on zwift and only do workouts and group rides so I'm not really too concerned about having accurate power numbers. Here are the good points: The bike is very stable and comfortable. It has lots of adjustability to fit the rider. The saddle is remarkably good for a stationary bike. The magnetic resistance is great and very responsive. The bike is absolutely silent and very smooth. The bike is a very good value for the price. It's not quite a full smart bike because it doesn't adjust resistance automatically based on changes in terrain when using an app like zwift. I don't downgrade it for that because it doesn't claim to do that. I knocked off 1 star based on the water bottle holder position and the cadence display. (I would rate it 4.5 if I had that option). This bike is made by NordikTrack and is branded as Schwinn IC4 and an almost identical Bowflex C7 which only slightly differs cosmetically. NordikTrack could easily fix those two issues. Several users reported problems with the pedals included with the bike. I didn't use them as I swapped them for the SPD when I first started using the bike.man with dog

This bike is one of the best investments we've made. It performs flawlessly and there is plenty of versatility whereas we no longer need a gym membership. The price point was perfect the membership price is certainly worth it. Therefore, I would highly recommend this piece of equipment in your gym. However, we bought Echelon shoes and just over 30 days later my Velcro broke. Since it was after 30 days later I could not return them. We had other dealings with customer service in the months just after buying the bike. The customer service leaves much to be desired as far as buying accessories from the company. They are a third-party and getting a hold of the corporate seems to be near impossible. I still gave the five star review simply because the equipment is outstanding. Just don't buy accessories from their store if you need to return them it is quite a process.
I absolutely LOVE this bike and the community that rides it. I bought my bike (Costco 4S) in February 2021 and today, (11/15/2022) I completed my 1000th workout. I have over 800 rides and almost 200 Fitpass classes completed. The variety of classes makes it possible for me to ride either a live or on-demand ride every day, whether I feel like riding 75 minutes or want to take it easy with a 20 minute low impact ride. The instructors are exceptional. While I have never met any of them personally, they project warmth and compassion, and make me, the rider feel like I am important to them. The feeling I get from them is that this is more than just a job, it is really their passion and they care about us, their riders. The variety of Facebook groups specific to Echelon are numerous and there is something for everyone. When I had an issue with the attached tablet not allowing me to log in, I sent a Facebook message to Echelon and within 5 minutes I had a message back with instructions how to reset the tablet. Ok people this is not a shirt you can stuff back in the bag and return to QVC. The thing took my husband 2 hours to put together and it weighs a ton. So here are the details to assist. Full disclosure I'm a 5'4 fat lady (working on changing the fat part, hence the bike.) So I had been using the x-bike and wanted to level up for a sturdy bike that I could do standing cycle jogging out of the saddle. I'd been using the fancy bike app with my x-bike so and didn't want to spend the extra on a bike with the attached monitor. Like I need another screen in my house??? I like using the bike with my Ipad so I can take any class, you tube, peloton app or just netflix and spin so this seemed to be the ticket. Ok so here's the downfalls: 1- THE SEAT IS A TORTURE DEVICE- this was just not doable for me or my 14 year old son who validated my concern. So no problem, did some research and ordered a new bike seat on amazon, spent an hour or so learning how to change on youtube now comfy seat- check. 2- Configuration IS A SQUEEZE- ok so if you move the HANDLEBARS up they also move outwards from the body, assuming that all riders are super tall that want high handles, they say to raise them high if you are pregnant have back pain or are a beginner, so you better be tall too. Of course, you can move the seat forward to match but then wait my knees are in a funny position, and oh how do I get off this thing? The brake is right on my who-ha while I try to shimee out of this thing. So now I just find myself riding too far up and back to avoid knee pain or who-ha dismount, so feel like I'm bracing for dear life to get to those handle bars way forward. 3. The setting to move up the seat are not very clear and make it difficult to find the right spot again if someone else uses the bike. Wind-up! So with all this you wonder why I still have it. Well, it's a nice bike, I spent about $1000 bucks time and energy getting it set up, and I'm assuming that as I get thin these issues will subside. I only bought this bike last week, but I love it so far! I researched for months on different sites and different products. I was hoping for the iC4, but it's out of stock everywhere. This one was in stock and available to pickup. All the issues I've read about seem to be related to mishandling during shipping. I followed all assembly instructions, especially pedal installation, making sure they were threaded on straight and then tightened with the wrench. The bike is super quiet. I've preemptively bought some silicone lubricant for the wheel and brake pad after reading about noise. I watched some videos on maintenance and it's super easy to care for. I think a lot of issues come up because people think you don't have to take care of expensive equipment. The seat is a traditional racing seat, so it's uncomfortable if you have a big butt like me, but I bought a padded cover and it makes it more bearable. I'm 5'9" and heavy and the bike is big and sturdy enough. I'm not sure how accurate the display numbers are, but I'm also not such a serious rider that I need the most accurate stats; I just want a good cardio workout and hopefully drop some pounds. I bought this bike ~9 months ago, to replace a cheap one that, while it looked like this Schwinn on the outside, had a resistance mechanism that just didn't work. What a relief it was to get on this IC3! I've been riding ~6X a week & it's still working well. My favorite feature (besides the fact that the resistor/brake function works) is the horizontal adjustment feature for the handlebars. If I can't adjust the handlebars both vertically & horizontally, my hands fall asleep while riding. No worries for that issue with this bike. As several reviewers have noted, the "computer" is pretty awful. The timer works (mine loses about a tenth of a second per minute, but that's not a big deal) and the rpm meter, when you can see it (seems like it's always on mph when I glance down) is accurate. The calorie count is a flat 13 calories per minute, no matter how fast or slowly you go, so that's not even vaguely right. The unit rarely picks up my pulse transmitter, but when it does it's laughably inaccurate, to the tune of 50bpm high or low. I don't know if the distance is accurate, because I totally don't care about that. It should be, but given that this unit was clearly programmed by people who don't bike, I wouldn't bet on it. On the other hand – see those down-facing brackets at the top? If the top one disappears, you're going under 60bpm. That could mean that you have so much resistance on that you're going to blow out your knees, so that's a handy signal to have. Despite my grumping about the monitor, this is a really great bike. All most of us need from a monitor is to know how long we've been pedaling & enough bpm info to make sure we're in a knee-safe range. And this monitor does that just fine. I bought this bike because I work a ton and can't always get to the gym, where we have top of the line spinning equipment and instructors. I wanted a bike that was either equivalent or very close, so that I could work out at home. I was so thrilled with this bike that I purchased a second for my daughter. The bike is not massive, but, a decent size. It fits in my medium sized NYC apartment (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom). The bike is sturdy, nice looking and really looks like it should cost a lot more that $250. Since I have been spinning for years, I don't need an instructor. Yet, placing the bikes close to my TV and in well air conditioned rooms, certainly helps! The bike has all the same adjustment features as the gym cycles (seat goes up/down/forward back) and handlebars can be raised/lowered. The handlebars are padded. The seat is similar, also – but, as I ride a lot, I like to keep a spin cushioned seat on it (which, I sometimes brought to spin classes with me). While the bike is heavy, it simply transported by tilting and using the attached wheels. Occasionally, the bike can squeak (as other bikes often do), which I quickly resolve with a few drops of oil. The only thing missing from this bike is a water bottle holder. However, my 10 year old son resolved this issue by using tape to hang a plastic bucket from the handrail (where I place my water-bottle)! He also attached a small light weight wire box (with clear mail tape – also to the handrail), where I store my iphone, tv remote or whatever! In fact, he placed a small flat board on the rail for my laptop, and, I am actually typing this review as I happily spin and watch a movie with him~ I hope this is helpful!Melissa
I got this bike on Amazon On sale and it’s pretty great. Super easy to put together – it took me about 45 minutes by myself. The directions are very simple to read and u detests forget also. The bike rides smooth and has many different levels of tension for a more challenging ride. The handle bar and seat are adjustable, although I wish it had more positions as I am short and it doesn’t sit where I’d like it to. The seat is not that comfortable and I had to buy a gel cushion for comfort. All in all it’s a pretty good bike for not a lot of money.emily.l

I ordered this bike to add a non-impact component to our family garage gym routine we've been going hard at for 3 months. I bought this for my mother (63) who moved to FL and had since become pretty idle which isn't good. While she was here she was walking up to 5 miles a day but she moved there and walking ceased, some weight was gained, stamina decreased, body aches returned/got worse, she started needing her and it just wasn't good. Idle bodies break down, probably especially older ones. So I figured that since she sat around the house, she could at least 'move' while sitting, get those legs working again, regain some stamina, burn some calories, tone some muscles and it might improve her body aches (she has arthritis in her knee, reduced cartilage and sometimes gets those gel injections), etc. Well, she loves it! She's had it 2-3 weeks and began a routine 2 days after receiving it. She uses it 4-5 days a week and her goal was to get to 10,000 reps/cycles a day within a month and eventually use it for her arms too; well, she's at about 7,500-8,000 reps a day, using it for arm exercises too, her knee pains have decreased, she can make it up the whole flight of stairs without getting winded halfway, she hasn't needed her cane since after about a week or use, she said she feels better and more so, it has stopped her from being so idle. This product is even better because it is lightweight and folds for portability, but also because of it's low price; I wasn't concerned because it was inexpensive, I look at customer reviews for products and go from there. I would recommend this product to others and am highly considering buying it for my 'other mother' who recently retired and who I don't want to become idle when she relocates, but I also think it's good for myself while I'm just sitting around watching TV, more so since I'm inside so much more due to current events and restrictions.ariespoet
I thought I was going to hate this machine. I LOVE IT. It is light-weight and easy to carry and does not take much space. This machine is great for people just starting out on an exercise regime. It is particularly good for elderly people to help keep them moving. The monitor works well so it is easy to keep track of progress. The downside is that the machine creeps forward when in use. I solved this by placing two rubber door stops behind each side of the front bar and two rubber door stops in front of the rear bar. Other than the resistance being poor and the creeping, this machine has merit for beginners, elderly and possibly those with ailments that would benefit from pedaling motions. If you are physically fit, this machine will likely be of little benefit.Eleanor

Great buy for the money! Very sturdy. I did have to move the felt pad box back to center up with the adjustment handle bar. I drilled a new hole in the felt pad bracket to move the entire felt pad bracket back just a little bit. The adjustment tension handle bar did not line up straight into the center of the resistance felt pad box when you turned it down. When you turned the adjustment handle down, it did not go down exactly into center of the felt pad and it was pushing down only the front side of the felt pad. I was not getting the resistance that I needed. But, i centered it and fixed it.. Maybe other machines will not come like this. But, this is a great buy. Well built bicycle.Gregory
They may seem minor to some but I didn't purchase the bike only to receive defective parts. First off, I received the shipment 2 days earlier than expected so I'm happy about that. It took me roughly 2 hours to assemble. The instructions were okay to follow, not very complicated. Moreover, after I finished assembling, I got on and didn't like the pedals too much so I unscrewed the part that goes around the toes. Now I can use it barefooted. Butttt, one of the screws wouldn't budge. I mean exactly what were they trying to do screwing it so tight that I ended up stripping the screw?! I'm just glad the other end of the strap was not attached. Hence I was able to take out the rest of it and left the little end piece. Another issue I have is the foam on the bar handle. It's kinda big deal to me because I can see it. It's right there in front of me. The foam at the top isn't fully pulled up so the gap annoys me. And lastly, I agree with the other people, the seat isn't very comfortable but it's bearable. Also, I noticed some minor dents on the cover of the wheel. Not a big deal because it's not very noticeable and it's out of my sight when I'm on it. But nevertheless, I love it! It's simple and functional. I could careless for the monitor not being all fancy. As long as it tells me the time, calories, and distance, then I'm good! I hope it'll last longer. P.s. I've attached a photo of the handle, and after taking out the strap of the left pedal.Ross
I have had this bike about a week and have put maybe 100 miles on it or a little more. This is a great exercise bike for the price. It was not hard to put together. It has a good solid frame and doesn't rock of wobble. I am about 160 pounds so can't speak to how it is with more weight than that. It is lacking some of the adjustments that more expensive exercise bikes have but does have height and forward / backward adjustment on the seat. It also does a good job at easily adding resistance to increase the difficulty of your workout. The computer is basic in that it includes current speed, time, calories burned and distance ridden. You reset for the next ride by holding the button down three seconds and all values return to zero. It does have a bit of a hum but if you are looking for a bike to sit on indoors and peddle to get some exercise or an inexpensive training bike for those rainy day, this just might be your bike. If I had paid $800 for it I might have given it a lower score but for $130 It gets 5 stars. If I had it do do all over again I would buy this same bike.Satisfied

Tried the bike out right after putting it together and it was a workout! I only had it on level 1, and after 30 minutes, I was sweating and my legs felt like jello. I'm 5'7 and 120 pounds (and not THAT out of shape!) and I felt the bike fit me and was comfortable. I really love this bike so far. I think, for the price, it was a really good investment. It's been over a month that i own this bike. I love doing indoor cycling and i never imagined i would own one. I loved the price and decided to purchased one specially with this pandemic that we can't risk on going out and plus having 3 kids at home. I love riding my bike but suddenly the on one of the sides of the felt pad is folding when I'm riding the bike and it makes is so hard to ride even if it has low resistance added. Great bike! Easy resistance controls, works well, has a water bottle holder which is practical. Seat gets uncomfortable after some time on it so I cushion it with a blanket. It's very loud with higher resistance. But still definitely worth it. I was SO excited to get this bike. I researched. Well, what I receieved for my whopping $209.00 was a cheap adapter. For what? I dont know. There is nothing on the adapter to even say what it is for. Save your money , poor quality so use the money to buy a better bike to start with . Thin metal , poor seat that won't tighten down ( spins ) and digital counter is a joke . Loses connection and starts all over again and again and again even when you touch or let off handle bars . We love, love, love our Schwinn 170! Although I originally envisioned myself using it every morning and encouraging my husband to use it with a grudging acceptance or avoidance, my husband has taken to riding this every day of his own volition; he puts an iPad with hockey or uses the Explore the World app on it and has been increasing his time each day by another 5 minutes. As one who never used to want to go to the gym to work out, this choice on his part is incredible and so inspiring to me. I am using it as well, and it is fantastic, especially with the individual user profiles and a ton of other great features that make it my favorite exercise equipment. If you are on the fence about getting one because you have a significant other who may be in the same mind, this may be what turns them around to getting a good regular workout. Not being so familiar with the price of these bikes, I initially thought the cost might be a little high, but after doing my research, I can definitely share that the features are excellent and the Schwinn quality is something I feel confident in over just getting a $200 bike that will fall apart within a year and then leave me high and dry without any recourse. Also, I can honestly say that if you don't desire to use an appliance because it lacks appeal, you have wasted your money anyway, and the prize is in the regular use of this bike. The Schwinn is comfortable and really easy to use to get a good workout in, and its sturdiness and quality just invites that regular use that can have such a positive impact on your health. I wanted to buy a bike that would help me lower my blood sugars. I live in a cold and snowy climate so during the winter you can not get out much for exercise. And I did not want to join a gym. So I researched upright stationary bikes. This one came up as one of the good ones. Things I like are the weight limit worked for me, Sturdy even if I get moving fast, quiet, and has some pre-programmed settings. The one thing that could be worked on is learning how to use the program settings and all the bike does. I had to google youtube and watch people's videos to understand the settings. I did order a seat thinking it was a bigger seat for the bike and it was the same size. In the description, I assumed it was an upgraded seat . I will keep it though because if there is one thing I think will break down it will be the seat, as I am not a small person.Exercise wont kill me
I looked at the full range of exercise bikes ranging from $150 to $3000. I was looking for something similar to the ones I have used at health clubs in the past (in the cardio area not the spinning rooms). Nothing fancy, just one that offers simple workout routines with various workout levels and tracks your calories, distance, etc, doesn't require a tablet or phone, and doesn't break the bank. Ive had this bike for about 6 weeks now and this is exactly that. It's well built, comfortable, easy to use, compact, light and easy to move around, and affordable. If you are looking for a spinning style bike with a weighted fly-wheel (ie Pelaton), this is not it. If you need live instructors or virtual rides on a large built-in screen, this is not it (although this does connect with the Explore the World app that syncs with the machine and you can do virtual rides on your phone or tablet). If you are looking to spend a lot of money for the bike and additional monthly fees for the live workout subscriptions, this is not it. This is just a great, simple exercise bike at a great price. Also, it is easy to put together. All the tools are included and it takes about 30-60 minutes depending upon your skill level. Several people have posted Youtube videos of how to assemble it which made it even easier. At the time I bought it Target had it on sale and with the red card discount it was the best price. Greetings I am a Walmart Sparks Reviewer and I will be doing a review on the EXerpeutic Therapeutic Fitness Momentum Bike. This bike came in a huge box so you will definitely need someone to help you with taking it out of the box and putting it together. After taking all of the equipment parts out of the box, I saw that it is basically already put together with the exception of a few minor parts such as the handle, seat, peddles etc… I definitely love that it was easy to assemble. However, I would highly advise not to take the screws from underneath the bike seat. This was a mistake I made and had a little difficult time assembly the part back together. After the bike was assembled, I was now ready to try it out. It has a very smooth ride which helps a lot with those leg muscles and thigh areas. The only thing I wish was the seat to be a bit wider for a more comfortable sitting. However, you can use a pillow for sitting. The seat was also taller, even after I adjusted it to the lower setting. It is also very important to make sure all adjustments are made properly. In my case, I had to refer back to the owner’s manual to make further adjustments. The EXerpeutic Bike is easy to maneuver around because it has a set of rollers in front. Just tilt it forward and roll. Now, if you have a white peel and stick tile flooring, like I do, it may leave some streak of rolling marks on the flooring, but it’s easy to damp mop it away. Overall, it is a great exercise bike and a good way to stay in shape. Just make sure you follow the manual and remember not to remove the screws from the bottom seat area. I received my EXERPEUTIC LX 8.5 Indoor Cycling Exercise Bike with Bluetooth Smart Technology and Free MyCloudFitness App today. It comes in pretty compact box. There is some assembly but I was able to complete that pretty quickly. The bike itself weighs about 90 lbs. It does come with transportation wheels provide for easy relocation. Please note – the install manual that came with my bike did not mention the Bluetooth box and batteries. Had to figure that out on my own. The box sits on the side of the bike near the pedals. Uses included batteries. It connects to your Smartphone using the MyCloudFitness App. This bike has many features. I wanted something I could use during winter months. I usually ride an outdoor bike and really like the workout I get from bike riding. This bike has a very quiet belt drive that will hold up to 300 lbs. It has a Heavy Duty 3 Piece Crank System that will enable peddling forward or backward. It has a 40 lb cast iron flywheel. The handlebars are multi-grip and can change out into 6 different positions. The floor stabilizers are adjustable so there is no chance of tipping over. There is an easy dial tension adjustment that I find very useful and includes an emergency brake. The bike is easy to put together. I am not very tall and this bike meets my height comfortably. The peddling is smooth and the seat, so far, is comfortable. I ordered this based on suggestions that it was good for shorter people. My wife is 5'0" tall and it fits her well. (I strugged choosing between this model and the 901 model that had good reviews but apparently wouldn't adjust low enough for shorter people.) Took me about 40 minutes to put it together alone. Probably would have been a little quicker with some help or a second time around. Most of the negative reviews on this item on other sites seemed to deal with damage during shipping, so I bought this "Ship to Store" so I could just refuse it right away if looked banged up. Picked it up and the item looked fine. It is heavy and big, though, so getting it loaded into the car alone might actually have been the hardest part of the whole buying experience. (I'm glad everything was OK when I opened the box — it would not be easy to get it all back in there and return it to the store.) It feels sturdy riding it. I'm 5'9" and it also fits me well. I have the seat at around a middle setting, so it should support someone taller also. It's not whisper quiet, but it's not loud either. With music turned up during a workout, it doesn't seem like it will be noticeable. I haven't ever taken a spinning class at the gym, but my wife has taken quite a few and her first impression of the bike was positive… she seemed excited about it and didn't complain about it measuring up to the gym quality. The bike got really loud all of a sudden after using it for a month. I mean, it's so loud I have to peddle backwards. And for some reason, peddling backwards doesn't make that loud sound yet. Also, how am I able to peddle backwards. The first time I rode it, I paused peddling and the peddles jerked my feet. I realized there was no neutral gear in which the wheel can spin and you can stop peddling. That is really annoying. The bars stick too far out. Is this bike meant for a lanky 6'6" guy or was it poorly designed? I believe it was poorly designed. The quality is terrible. Simple proof of this is that the seat is extremely uncomfortable. You have to always be leaning forward. If you sit upright, your bottom will feel like it is slipping off a hardened support structure within the seat that doesn't cover the whole seat. Basically, you can't sit upright. The peddles are metal spikes, so you have to wear shoes when you workout. I thought this was an indoor bike machine???? The resistance is a cheesy pad that touches the wheel. If you want to increase the residtance, you just screw the pad tighter onto the wheel. The pad looks like it's made out of lint from a dryer. Very poor quality. Oh, and it weighs a ton. So forget moving it around because the wheels are so small and it will stick onto rugs and destroy the tile if you don't have it propoed up a certain height while pushing it, because then the metal structure of the bike will scrape against the floor. I bought a service plan. I hope they don't give me a hard time about the noise and the chain skipping. The chain skipping is becoming a bigger problem. I'm not sure what it's skipping on because the chain compartment is concealed. Overall, I refret my purchase.Dandernator

It fits beside my bed, close to my window and tv, where I can do my daily cardio anytime I can, watching my news or listen music without headphones. I am an ICU RN with a special needs son. I purchased this bike for my son to use during the pandemic. Unfortunately it was delivered 5 days after I was unexpectedly deployed to Texas for a crisis contract. I did not have anyone to open the box so when I returned 3 months later I immediately attempted to put the bike together. The frame was bent so I contacted customer service. Originally they told me they had no parts to send a replacement but I could send the bike back for a refund. I never received the confirmation so I called again and they stated I was out of the return window. I understand the policy but this was an unusual circumstance during a pandemic. Now I am stuck with a broken bike and out of $175. I should have listened to the reviews before purchasing the bike. It is not worth it and their customer service is terrible!tina
Today I received my bike. It came very well packed in perfect condition. The instructions have been in simple booklet which lacked the list of parts and had slightly different Model picture but the bike was already partially assembled and no parts missing or damaged. It was little bit challenging to figure out the assembly but i don't believe that anybody can fail! The bike is very well built with sturdy and solid construction and stability.It has wide range of adjustments, is very tight and nothings moves or wables. The resistance is very quick and and in wide range.The computer works perfect.The bike is a fitness wonder for me since i immediately felt the impact on my muscles, heart rate and circulation.
