Loved the quick fulfillment by B&H. Not their fault the handset had a dead mic. Ooma support was friendly and shipped a replacement handset, but not so quickly; this proved to be normal for them. We were hoping to use Ooma to replace the absurdly expensive, minimal landline service, and hoped to use the two-call capability to reduce the drain on my wife's cell minutes (she's been working at home since COVID spring and expects to remain a mostly-remote worker now). And that's going to work out, now that she has a DP1-T deskphone and a third party headset to allow hands-free use without speaker phone legibility issues. This was where I most often tripped over Ooma's documentation issues, with clearly outdated printed manuals and poorly organized and incomplete online documentation. Granted, aside from the dead mic, none of these issues would have been an issue, or maybe even noticed at all, if our goal had simply been a nice wireless home phone replacement. So in the end… well, near the end… I'm happy with the Ooma gear, less so with the effort expended to get here.Martin

Whatever you do DO NOT BUY the phones. We had to return the whole package because of the phones. We bought a new Telo box which seems to be working OK so far.. I seldom buy any kind of technology item that I don’t run into some unforeseen problem and spend hours going through support for help. Ooma was a very pleasant surprise! The directions were simple, set up was easy and trouble free. My phone was set up in under five minutes. I was surprised to find the voice quality was superb, and the phone and all features work perfectly. Best of all, I’m going to save a ton of money from cancelling my other hard-line. As an bonus, the system I bought comes with a wireless handset and charger base. There are also lots of options for blocking unwanted calls. Great job Ooma! I highly recommend this system for anyone who wants an economical hardline to supplement their cell service. To be safe in emergencies you will need some kind of regular cell phone backup as Ooma will not work when your Internet connection is down. Ooma can also be connected to a cell hot spot if need be.sam

We purchased for 2 of our 4 stores as they sold this as a phone and WI-FI combo package.

They came to install a couple weeks later, got all our details for Wi-Fi and installed an internet box only. They specifically sold it to us as Wi-Fi and advertised as Wi-Fi. We have their papers that state this. When we called they pretty much said it’s our problem and we need to go buy a router. This is 100% not what the salesman or the installer stated, they sold us as Wi-Fi and installed as Wi-Fi.
This company does have cheaper phone service, but I would rather pay more than to deal with shady business practices.

I have gone through many different voice over IP providers. Have switched to OOMA and have been using it for over a year now. So far it has easily been the best VoIP service I've used. Others have complained about call clarity, but I have found the call clarity to be great. So much better than the others. In fact, people on the other end of the line noticed a big difference too. For my setup, I do not use the OOMA handset. I have mine hooked up to a wireless Panasonic phone set up and I ensure my internet and the OOMA are plugged into a battery backup (in case I lose power at the house). Haven't had any drops, can hear others loud and clear, and the Panasonic phones offer great range. For me, I have had very good success with the OOMA system.Brad

I love my new Ooma! The connection quality is amazing, even on the international calls (I checked Europe and South America). Actually, I loved their service so much that I opted for their international unlimited plan. The basic plan (3.95/month) includes a gazillion of features (e.g. call ID, call blocking, voicemail, voicemail to email etc). You can choose their premier option for roughly 10 bucks per month to get extra features such as call forwarding, multiple device ring, additional phone number, or a discount on the international bundles, to name a few. You can prepaid your minutes as well. You can access your Ooma account online (where you can change the settings, add bundles, check the call log, block numbers, create contacts etc) or in Ooma mobile app. The app also works as a VOIP app, which means you can make or answer calls using your mobile (wireless or WiFi). No more dragging your cordless phone around when you're in the backyard. For Ooma to work properly, you will need a good internet connection. The premier plan has an option for call forwarding when your internet is down. This way you will never miss a call. Or, you can plug your backup landline into Ooma. Ooma offers number porting, but be prepared to choose a new number if you live in a small town. Also, it seems Ooma is becoming more and more popular as some area codes are not available anymore. I could not get 519, but didn't mind 647. I found Ooma pleasant to the eye (and ear) and the customer service very helpful. So, if 3.95 for the unlimited Canada calling sounds good to you, you should get Ooma.at

The Ooma Telo Air 2 was very easy to set up. The WiFi connection to the internet gave us lots of flexibility in where to place the unit. No phone cords required to use it! Excellent instructions on how to port my phone number from AT&T to Ooma. Plugged in my existing handset to be able to answer incoming calls when I want to. But can also answer calls and check voice mail on my cell phone. How convient! Best of all I dropped my monthly land line cost from $44/mo to $5/mo!Donny

I'm really torn. I had to return my Telo Air because on long distance calls I got an echo. In retrospect I don't know if that was my Telo Air or my older cordless phone. Ooma offered to diagnose but I had to return it before the Best Buy return by date expired. Ooma support is kinda good. Friendly people that are polite and really try hard. Hard trouble getting men to connect to my WiFi but they stuck with it and figured it out after maybe 2days. Ooma has a Dashboard website that is neat and convenient and actually I think this is well thought out. If I had more time to test the system, I would have stuck it out. I may try again.BobG

I've had a Telo since 2013 and it's still great. I bought the new Telo Air 2 to benefit from better Bluetooth range and wireless convenience. After going through two new Telo's, I'm back with my original 7-year old. The first new one was constantly dropping Bluetooth calls, had unacceptable noise interference and frequently lost it's LAN connection, requiring a manual reboot. The second unit still dropped the Bluetooth connection, both on standby and during calls, this causing the unit to crash and reboot. So, no possibility of calling with a hand-set till 15 minutes later……..this product is unreliable should not be on the market….BTW, I'm a product/industrial designer. I've spent so much (wasted) time on this matter, I may as well complete this rant in all it's rotten detail. The support people in the Philippines were great, but, when Ooma said a replacement product would be mailed to me, tracking revealed the package had been recalled by the supplier. No one could explain why this happened – I even e-mailed head-office in Silicone Valley to no avail. Ooma is probably the best VOIP phone service. The very reasonably priced package includes the base unit and handsets that take up very little real estate and are easy to set up. Call quality is great. I'm using the wireless option to connect the handsets and chose not to bother using my old telephones. I chose Ooma to replace my old reliable copper wire phone lines because I got fed up with my service provider raising prices once or twice a year, pushing $100 a month; to add insult to injury, my service provider was pushing their VOIP service for $46 a month plus cost of equipment. With Ooma I pay next to nothing. The only downside is if I lose power, I lose internet service and telephone, making me dependent on cell service. I've been using Ooma for a month now and and very pleased.Alfie

Bought this a day ago, but experience has been quite disappointing. The device loses wifi connection multiple times, although wifi is perfect with every other device in my house. The only solution ooma has is to reset my internet modem and router which they dont realized pretty much stalls work in my home. I did this a few times. In addition it is difficult to sync contacts as their new app has no instructions on their old website and the agent said he 'took care' of the issue by telling me to add a 'name' to one contact and do the same to my 200 other contacts. Did not expect this from a device we bought from a store like bestbuy. This was not a random internet purchase. Painful.Docman

Telephone staff @ Ooma were untruthful about startup and ongoing costs. I discovered the $40 porting fee and the extra yearly fee of $30 for Hawaii & Alaska only after buying the telo air with handsets for $146 with tax. $146+40 +30 = $216 start up cost. Ongoing monthly $7 for fees & taxes +2.50 comes to $9.50 a month which is reasonable. However I was getting it to keep my landline number for infrequent calls from relatives and could do that by pairing my panasonic wireless extension phones to a retired call phone with bluetooth and port the landline # to a Redpocket Mobile account for $8.25 a month and save the $216 start up costs so I returned the Ooma unit to Best Buy. Also if you live in HI or AK trying to activate is a pain and you will need call Ooma for help with it.doctorB

As a VOIP (voice over IP ) guy, I've used & installed hundreds of phones. The Grandstream GXP series are among my favorite, due to the ease of setup, generally good audio and build quality, as well as the price point for the features included. Let's begin with a few of the "plusses" for this phone. First, it's got up to 6 line capability, out of the box. AND a massive amount of control points, which can be configured individually as speed dial, BLF, specific functions – like direct transfer, etc), and the functionality is tremendous as a result. you can configure BLFs (an LED lights on it to let you know if your associate or colleague is on their phone, so you can harrass them when they get on or off), you can add a zillion speed-dials, and generally, you can do most anything you want with it, just shy of hiring help… The audio is generally crisp and clear – on par or better than many phones at 2x's the price point. The huge color display has several page options (you can get stock reports, localized weather, you can insert your own .jpg backgrounds, etc), so it looks great on a corporate desk.. The setup is pretty intuitive, and I can generally have one up and running out of the box within 60-90 seconds, assuming I know the credentials and have a computer handy (don't try to configure this phone without a computer on the same network – you'll spend forever!).. The web GUI for configuration is pretty straightforward, and rather similar to all the GXP series. The phone also sports dual gigabit ethernet jacks – so you can loop thru it to your PC, and you won't face a major performance hit! rather nice. That said, here's what I don't like about it. 1. my BIGGEST gripe is the headset jack. I've gone thru DOZENS of headsets, and have yet to find a single headphone which works with this device. I'm unsure if it was intentional, but it appears that either the gain structure is way off, or they've wired the RJ9 in a non-normal configuration. The GUI offers a switch for "Plantronics" headsets, but that doesn't help either. In fact, the only way I've ever gotten a headset to work was to plug it in the handset jack. This of course produces other erratic results, but the headset DOES actually work in that jack. IF you need a headset (wired headset), I'd skip this phone, for that very reason. (I'll update this if I ever get better results on this)…. 2. the phone book. Face it, unless you played an extra in Office Space, you really should not be using a phonebook directory on a single-use device like this. you should have your computer programed to dial your number for you, or you should be having them punched in as speed dials. The phonebook is ludicrous, and made even more so by the fact that Grandstream wastes several buttons for it. 3. the button layout.. there are three "hot buttons" – the handset, headset, and speakerphone. But they're NOT layed out together.. kinda dumb. minor annoyance, but let's just say, dumb…. 4 the handset cable spot. Another trivial but poorly engineered idea. Of course if nobody complains about it, Grandstream will never make it better.. but basically, they route the cable from under the phone, so it's quite often getting stuck under the edge and as a result, is causing the phone to tilt… pretty annoying, especially as something that could've been prevented….. All-in-all, it's not a bad phone.. and for the price (B.G.

Nice phone great value but will not hook up to home phone line or magic jack. They fail to disclose that you need a cloud or PBX service for it to work then you need to get it programed. No phone tech support all thru email base 2 days to find out it wouldn't work.robert

OOMA Telo is wonderful. Unfortunately I bought it for my 95 year old aunt. She rejected it since her landline phone is just fine for 95 years, so why change? No amount of cost estimates (free nationwide calling) or other logic (free voicemail) was compelling enough for my aunt to change her mind. I read the review that stated" They don't tell you you have to have a cell phone to active the device." However I did not want to believe it. I ordered it, you have to have a phone to activate it. But not just any phone, an Android, Apple etc. You can only sign up with those two cell phones using an app that you must download to register. You can not sign up online or calling any person. I was forced to send it back because I can not sign up. I don't have the cell phones required to load the app so that I can register. They stated it is easy to set up, but failed to mention what is required to sign up. I wanted a happy ending. Not for everyone!Timothy

I purchased this for my mother and I?m returning it. The call quality is garbage. It keeps dropping calls and goes in and out during calls. Then, when you try and call the person back the call doesn?t go through. Also, this is sold as a way to have internet service also. Well the LTE tower is always down. The call signal is mostly fair to poor. I called tech support and they keep telling me the line is fine. Well it is for about 3 minutes. I have to keep calling tech support to get a new unit. I?m on hold for a long time and then the call drops or disconnects I then have to call back. It?s frustrating to say the least. This phone service with this device is not reliable. I now have to find another alternative if they don?t send a replacement soon. My mother not being able to make calls is ridiculous and this box isn?t cheap either. It?s almost $60. So it?s basically a $60 paperweight. Save your money and choose another service.YumYum

Well we have to go with two stars and here is why. I love the features of the phone however it does take some time to figure out how to use it, example there is no hold button! Yes you can place a call on hold but some genius though it would be great to remove the hold button. Just press the line button again it will put call on hold. It must be plugged into an electrical outlet to power the phone, it does come with a battery that will allow it to work for a few hours if the electrical power is out. (still need internet) The main reason it gets two stars is speaker phone, if you don't want speaker phone then consider it 4.5 stars. Speaker phone is worthless. just consider it not there do to the excessive background noise. Operation is a little convoluted but once you figure it out it's okay. Purchased it really for speaker phone while I'm at the desk so I can have hands free for the computer, total disappointment in that regard.David

I like Ooma's solution as a good quality and low-cost solution.
However, I am not satisfied with their Subscription Service.

I'd just tried few times call forwarding feature in Ooma App settings and turned it off, then my account was upgraded from Basic level to Premier level automatically with higher monthly charge about $17.
When realized I have been charge several month wihout using this feature.

First complain – there is no clear notice for Subscription change agreement in the process.

Secondary – it is not easy to change it on Ooma website Account/Service page, it needs to call customer service to downgrade it.

I recommend you may need to watch out your payment history if any unexpected subscription charge if you are on autopay.Michael Wu

I kept the Bell copper wire phone until recently; but when I installed the Bell fibe 1,5 G, the phone was switched to VOIP. So I bought Ooma Telo, at least I would save the Bell fees. After a couple of month, I find that the call quality is borderline. Any call has a echo, delay in transmission, and often garbled talk superposed. My alarm system shows very often a warning related to the connection to the surveillance center. Several times the call was dropped without any reason or warning. I almost regret switching Ooma.dissapointed

I've had this unit for about 3 weeks. I previously had VOIP phone service through my cable company. I had high hopes for this phone service but unfortunately I've been disappointed. One disappointment is the voice quality. Some calls are okay but other calls are terrible. It's particularly annoying when the voice message is hard to understand. You can't just ask the party to repeat what they said. The other thing I don't like is that the ooma unit and your primary phone are located next to your router. My router is in a spare bedroom. I may have to buy a new phone with more handsets so I can add a phone in the kitchen and family room. Their sales pitch is that this phone system is superior to cable VOIP, but I prefer my old cable VOIP.MClaire

My mom bought this cordless phone from walmart last week to replace the panasonics. Sound quality is terrible, and the handsets go out of range quickly. Notice that the handsets do not stand up on their own, like for example, being on speakerphone and the handset tends to topple over when you try to get it to stand up. The phone was delivered earlier than we were told it would be. Nothing to complain about that. My wife is the Tech Wizard in our house. I am helpless. This model phone is much more compact in size than our previous landline equipment. Not quite as comfortable when holding to the ear, but does not make the equipment undesirable. We are glad to have this new equipment. We haven't had the phones long enough to know what the life of the batteries are so we left it blank.Kerry

I am really enjoying my new VTech phone that I purchased to replace my Panasonic phone. Pros: Wireless over the head headset, the call block feature, the connect to cell phone feature, ability to use the answering machine included and/or the paid answering service provided by the phone company. The only con to this feature is that there is no indicator light to let you know there is a message waiting if you use the telephone company service. If you use the answering machine that is supplied with the phone, there is an annoying beep that that lets you know there is a message waiting. I believe this feature can be turned off. I like the ability to screen an incoming call when you use the included answering machine feature. Very sleek and modern looking. I would have given five stars except for the cons: Buttons above the number pad and below the incoming call screen (see photo) on the handsets are not backlit, the wireless earpiece provided is difficult to put on and is uncomfortable, the base for the second phone is very lightweight and is easily knocked over when replacing the phone. I wish there was a way to block an incoming call as it is coming. Otherwise, this is a great phone and I would recommend it to others.Mamatiff

This phone is amazing! It was a gift for my parents. They had the same one from Best Buy. The headset lasted about 8 – 10 years. The phones were still working just fine. I bought them other headsets, and they were not happy with them. My Mom held out for this exact phone set! So, I had to buy it for her!JKC0710

After 6 months of use, the over-ear wireless headset would suddenly cut out in the middle of calls. After a bit of troubleshooting, it was quite clear that the headset simply wasn't holding a charge. I purchased a brand new replacement battery, but this did not fix the issue. It turns out that in order for the headset to charge, I have to apply a significant amount of pressure to get it to seat properly in the molded headset rest. Neither the headset nor the base was ever dropped, so I deduce that perhaps the magnet that holds the over-ear headset to the charging pins on the base has lost some of its strength. One of the attached shows the amount of pressure that I need to apply just to get it to take a charge. As soon as I take my thumb away it stops charging. Wasted > $100 for a piece of technology that will ultimately go to the trash.TallOne

I got this cordless phone for my 98 y/o Mother, who has bad eyesight, and bad hearing. The display is easy to read, with black numbers and letters, against a white illuminated background. She likes it as much she likes anything! At 98 that's saying something! I would recommend buying. Panasonic has always had the best cordless phones, from my personnel experience.Larry

We replace an old wall unit which was originally hung just above the counter and under a cabinet. Unfortunately, this new handpiece was just a couple of inches too tall when we put it on the cradle. We were able to attach the wall piece to the old plate by attaching it to the screw in the middle instead of on the top of the plate, then pushing excess wiring underneath to secure it. Purchased as a gift for my father, finally had a day off and added this modem to his Xfinity account. Everything worked fine including MOCA. Ten minutes later MOCA stopped working. Hours on the phone with Xfinity, they pull Arris on to the call for them to say yeah that feature doesn't work right so we disable it. Blatant bait and switch. Too late to return now I have to spend more to get a MOCA adapter to recreate the function built into this device that they switched off. I'd be less upset if it never worked but it was working great for the first 10 or so minutes to have it stop while streaming a movie. Not right.LWSIV

Basically, buying this modem allows your ISP to sell all your browsing activity to 3rd parties. Sure, this will allow you to return your rented modem to your ISP and save you money. HOWEVER, they lock your DNS settings. This means your IPS is the only one that can set this at the modem level. This allows them to collect all your online activity and sell it to third parties. You can still change these settings on each of your computers, phones, etc.. but seeing as I OWN this modem it's ridiculous I can't set my DNS settings on it and have all my connected devices set to auto. I wouldn't be surprised at all if xfinity/comcast payed arris to make this change to their modems. I don't mind my ISP seeing my browsing but them selling it is just not okay.marioio

2 years of use no issues i have xfinitys gigspeed plan and get 400-700mbs speed on wifi which is expected depending on what time of day network has congestion and signal interference with wireless but wired i get 1gbs sustained no issues. Modem is fairly future proof with gigspeed becoming the standard in 5 years getitng the jump ona gigspeed modem router combo is always a good idea youll save its cost 3x over in 5-6 years of use and its more than capable of lasting that long with the gig speed capability. Works better than your standard rental in singal strengh aswell i have no issues connecting to wifi in my backyard drive way side walk etc basicly my whole home and 90% of my yard are covered in wifi where as the rental sections of my home inside would have no singal like the basement or upstairs bathroom.tonyB

I purchased this mesh network for my mother's home in Puerto Rico at Hato Rey location on the island. My mother lives in a typical concrete and steel home which is hurricane resistant, which is definitely a good thing. However, the walls often prevent the Wi-Fi signal from reaching all parts of the home, especially the covered patio where family spend a lot of time. While in the computer room, download speeds were upward of 146 mbps, download speeds didn't even reach 10 mbps and uploads were less than 1 point! Having a lot of experience with establishing a home network for my own home on the mainland, I was looking for a system that would create a stable extensive Wi-Fi network while also being compact and affordable. The eero Mesh Network did just that. Placing the three portals in strategic areas around the home, we were able to increase download speeds to over 100 throughout most of the home, including the covered patio. Upload speeds were also consistently above 5 mbps. This was a massive improvement to what we had with the just the Wi-Fi router provided by the local cable company. It was also extremely easy to set up. The mobile app was amazing fast and self explanatory. Even my 70 year old mother will be able to use it without me explaining it to her. I bought these because I needed to connect over 50 smart home devices to my home network. I plugged the system into my current modem/router and spread the units from the middle to the two ends of my L-shaped house. The set up through the app on my phone was a breeze. The reception everywhere is fantastic, including to about 35 ft outside my home, covering a good chunk of my property. I have had two problems, however. One of the units I tried mounting sideways on the wall. That unit provided coverage when close by, but not any further away. I am assuming the internal antenna are aligned for horizontal coverage. Second, I have to restart the units about every 3 days, or they slow down, won't link to devices they previously linked to, or they have glitches in connecting with the internet. This could be because of the sheer number of devices that connect. Restarting is very easy through the app, though. So I just restart them every 2 days proactively.Kudzu

Wish I’d checked my return deadline sooner, look like it was about two weeks ago. This, after two months of issues. Some forums blame client wifi devices for selecting an Eero device further than a MUCH closer one. That extra hop is painfully slow. It’s basically a shut down for all practical purposes. Our network is mixed Ethernet and wifi. I got the Eero 3 device package bc I wanted better wifi in the front and backyard. If I needed to research a plant in the garden, etc, I just wanted to sit down and look it up, not have to take off my dirty shoes to come inside. When I’m upstairs, above the Eero which acts as a gateway connected to our xfinity cable modem (bridge mode), instead phones, laptop, tablet seem to prefer connecting to distant Eeros on the far ends of our house. The gateway eero is probably 15’ away, while the distant ones are nearly 50’ feet away in either direction, plus lots of walls, incl BA walls w tile and the shallow angle of travel which means penetrating through 2nd floor floor joists. That’s the first issue. NOOOOOWWWW, the issue is frequent internet drops. And I mean MULTIPLE TIMES PER HOUR. For pandemic work at home types this is such a deal-breaker. The ONLY thing Eero does well is speed test. I swear it seems optimized for speed tests. You want a speed test, whoa, it will smoke a direct wifi connection to the xfinity modem. We have 1 GBPs service and I want to maximize that. BUT: try and do anything practical like hold a conference call, download or upload game and scouting video, watch instructional things. All bets are off. Reboot modem? Check. Check connections? Check. Reboot client or reset client wifi? Check. Reboot Eeros? Check. INTERNET DROPS/SHUTDOWN WERE NOT AN ISSUE when I bought the Eeros. I was simply trying to solve a wifi coverage issue. Instead I have a worse issue bc it affects the Ethernet clients as well since they all converge via an Ethernet switch at the Eero gateway device. I still have to have a house phone because I live in a rural area with no internet. Crazy, right? I was concerned when I realized that they were not readily available for purchase in most stores so I began my search online. During my research, I determined that the AT&T CRL32102 was a viable choice for my needs. The best price point was at Best buy plus I received free shipping! This is a great, compact, cordless answering machine. It was very easy to set-up. The handset is slimline and has large print so it's easy to see what number you are dialing. I was concerned more about the answering machine as I had purchased a different brand that had a sound distortion when playing back messages. This machine has none of those problems. The playback is crisp and clear! I can also turn the ringer off too. I like the contrast of the silver handset and black, shiny surface of the answering machine. It does not show prints and is easy to wipe down if needed. I'm very happy with this AT&T cordless answering machine and have been using it for three months now and love it more than ever.Bonnie

I had to finally write a review because this phone is so annoying. I normally buy Panasonic but the Panasonic seems harder to clean due to the rubberized plastic. I thought this phone would be good because of the big, flat numbers and more of a hard plastic, which it is. That is what I like about it. The features are nice, numbers are a good size for convenience and it stays clean looking. However I had ask for the first one to be replaced within a few weeks, the speaker sound on the handset was crackling and the dialing numbers were sticking. I always put it on speakerphone on the handset when I know I will have a long wait until someone answers or I am doing something else. AT&T provided fantastic customer service and immediately sent me a new phone without even asking for a receipt which I repeatedly offered to provide. The new phone, same model, after again, only a few weeks or so–when I push the handset speaker button to dial, the numbers you press will stick, most of the time. However when it is not on speaker, the numbers do not stick. There are other peculiar defects to it, for example I dial a number and it doesn't connect. I have to hang up, wait a short bit and dial again. No idea why it is doing this. There are other small things that functionally (not feature related) don't work from time to time. I use this phone constantly due to work and need a landline. I wouldn't buy an AT&T cordless phone again. The value is good if it worked and the ease of use is good (features) if it wasn't defective. I'll either try another brand or go back to Panasonic.linmi

I was looking for a replacement cordless phone/answering system at a reasonable price and, decided to try the AT&T CRL 32102 having a positive experience with two other AT&T corded phones, and this unit was just under $50.00. I ended up with more than I bargained for. First, like other current model cordless phones, it makes use of DECT 6.0 wireless technology which means a dedicated frequency for cordless phones that gives extended range, is not bothered by interference from such devices as microwave ovens, and does not interfere with home wireless computer networks. This AT&T phone system (manufactured by V-Tech) has quite a few useful options, especially for people with hearing or vision issues. It has an extremely large viewing screen with large, black text on bright, white backlighting. A large keypad with orange backlighting with the option of a key press to be announced by the digital voice function. You can also activate talking Caller ID to hear who is calling as well as call-screening to hear answering machine incoming messages. Audio has also not been forgotten: The phone offers a feature called HD Audio – circuitry to add clarity to calls. On the front, there is an audio assist button to add a little more volume boost than the volume control alone. On the right side, there is an EQ button that alters, bass, treble, natural response, again for call clarity. In the short time I've used the unit, it has performed flawlessly, and I have been especially impressed with the quality of the digital voice functions. Per the enclosed abbreviated instructions ( a full 90 page manual is available on the AT&T website as a .pdf file), make sure to charge a fresh battery for 16 hours before setting up and customizing the phone options to eliminate issues. If you need expansion handsets, this system can support up to 12. I didn't know how well I would like it initially, so I only purchased the base unit configuration. Now that I am completely satisfied, I purchased an extension handset that has all the features of the base unit. Registration of additional handsets is easy, quick, and automatic. A few little cons (but nothing that detracts from the value here): First, these are small, lightweight handsets that are somewhat smooth and slippery. Perhaps in future versions, they might add a rubberized coating to the sides, making it easier to hold on to. Second, when you are away from the base unit and using only the handset to play back messages, even with maximum volume, you need to hold the unit close to your ear to hear clearly. Finally, the handsets use a special battery and plug-in connector. I hope this gives you an informed buying decision and I highly recommend this product!AandJ091108
