I've had laser hair removal completed in a dermatologist office multiple times (4-6x each at different offices over many years), I've also owned several at home devices. Nothing has ever worked long-term. I've owned my tria for almost a year and a half. It has changed my life. On my neck, chin and upper lip I have seen a 98% decrease in hair growth. Consistency is key. It is difficult in the beginning but it gets much easier and less painful as the laser decreases the amount of hair growth over time. I started using a topical lidocaine but after around 4 treatments I no longer needed it. Now I use weekly for maintenance and it takes maybe 2 minutes in the morning to just zap and move on with my day. I use it every week. I am now working on my arms and legs. The only downside is how time consuming it is to treat larger areas, I wish there was a larger tria. I would highly recommend this device. Ok so I’m a blonde so this didn’t do much for my hair but to be fair I gave up pretty early on. BUT you guys—it ANNIHILATED my spider veins. I’m so pasty white I’m literally translucent and I had 3 kids in 3 years and I had all sorts of little spider veins all over my thighs. I did a lot of googles about different lasers and this one is very similar to the ones they use in doctors offices to get rid of blue and purple spider veins. It absolutely does! I wish I took more before and after! Here’s a couple of tips—you’ll know when you hit a spider vein bc it’ll hurt. But sometimes you’ll be right over a vein and not feel anything. My tip—go slightly off center and kind of play around w tilting the laser at different angels. You’ll feel it, you’ll nail that vein and in a few weeks it’ll just slowly fade away. It doesn’t work immediately for the veins, but it absolutely works. Also, try doing it right after you get out of a warm bath, your veins will be more noticeable.Laura

Something very different and stand-out-ish about this laser hair removal device and others is the shape and the way you hold it. I think some people might prefer the more rectangular shaped devices, but I find this gun-shaped tool to me a lot more easy to hold and use especially for larger areas of skin. The product is well made and if used correctly and timely, will minimize the appearance of unwanted hair or get rid of unwanted hair completely.
I'm really loving this device! Easy to use and effective. I am using it for my legs it for 6 weeks and it worked! my legs are showing a definite reduction in hair growth, as well as an overall slow down in hair re-growth! now I will focus on using it on my underarms more consistently and hope to find the same kind of results there!
I only having to shave once a week, and the regrowth is slow. I imagine a few more treatments and it'll stop entirely.

I have always had to shave every day–sometimes twice! It seemed like the moment I stepped out of the shower, I already had stubble. On top of that, I have keratosis pilaris, so shaving was very irritating to my bumpy skin. I had wanted to try laser hair removal for a long time, but it's so expensive to treat all the areas–it would be at least $2,000 to treat everything. I figured if this device could even just help reduce the amount of shaving, it would be well worth the price. Since the hair on my legs grew back so quickly, I decided to take the extra time to carefully do individual pulses, especially on my calves. I figured out a really efficient way so that I get full coverage in less than 10 minutes for both legs. The results have been beyond my expectations! Even after the first treatment, my legs stayed stubble-free longer. After each treatment, it just kept getting better and better. I could see patches where there's the cycle of growth that showed me how much growth I would have normally had without shaving. This was my first experience with IPL, so I was very nervous, but definitely excited. The instructions for the SmoothSkin Pure Fit IPL Hair Removal System were very simple and easy to understand. There are only 3 buttons on the whole machine, so you feel very confident that there's nothing you'll forget to do or do incorrectly. Once you turn the machine on, it's instantly ready to go and you can place it against your skin. The machine automatically determines the best setting strength for your hair color and skin tone, so there's no guess work. You can then choose one of 3 settings with the simple push of a button and you're ready to start! I found the machine to be very quiet and the actual process was somewhat uncomfortable, but it varied each time and depending on what area I was treating. I am laughing because would that be an insult to give this to someone, I do not think so if they ask for it as a gift. At any rate, the manufacturer produces and sends with the box contents a very thorough user guide that helps one figure out how to make sure that their skin tone works with the system. There are a couple of different ways to engage the laser light hair removal system. I personally like the button that allows for a continuous triggering of light to fry the hair follicles along the areas that you wish to remove hair from. The thing that I really like this time is that it came with an end cap that really helps target and minimize the light for smaller areas such as over the lip and facial hairs in tighter areas, plus under arm. I want to remind people reading this review that this is hair removal is not only for ladies but also men who have unwanted hair on their backs, their chests, etc. So, this is at least a 6 week process and commitment which also requires maintenance every so many weeks as hair tries to grow back. The user must first remove hair from the areas that are to be treated by either shaving, waxing, or tweezing. That gets the area as smooth as possible and then by doing a weekly treatment with the IPL, you gradually kill the hair follicle and thus, stop hair growth. However, those pesky follicles can come back so that is why a maintenance program is recommended. Clearly, it will not be a s much or as aggressive hair growth as in the beginning of the process, but there will be some regrowth and you tackle that as is necessary. I used this product with my wife. We have been using the SmoothSkin Pure Mini once a week for about 4 weeks now as the directions instructed. The manual says that you can do a full body treatment in as little as 10 minutes, but it took 10 to 15 minutes to do both full legs. The product has 2 settings, regular and sensitive, the difference is the brightness/strength of the light flash. There is an internal fan because the bright light does produce heat, it sounds like a quiet hair dryer. It is very easy to use, just put the window side flush against your skin and push the button (either regular or sensitive) and it will emit a bright flash against your skin. There is a sensor that detects if the window is completely flush against the skin and if it isn’t it will not flash. For areas where it is not flat skin (ex: knees) there is a magnetic attachment that fits over the window that makes the window area smaller allowing for the product to be flush against the skin and flash. There was no discomfort, redness or irritation when using the product. After about 10 minutes of use the flashes do get warmer and warmer which can cause discomfort, I just waited a minute or two for it to cool off a little and continued the treatment. We used the sensitive setting on the inside of the thighs and on the back of the knee area since these are more sensitive areas and the flashes on the regular setting were a little hot. My wife has light skin and light hair on her legs and the instructions say it works best on darker hair, so she was a little skeptical on whether this would work for her. It wasn’t until after her second treatment (week 2) that she noticed a change in the growth of hair on the treated area compared to the non-treated tattooed area. The hair was not growing back as quickly in the treated areas because it was shorter than the tattooed area hair. I noticed that some of the thicker hairs were not coming as thick and a little squirrely (not straight) which made me think the treatment was affecting the hair follicles. Home IPL devices for hair removal can really be hit or miss. Sometimes they work great, but suffer from slow speed or the bulbs don't last very long. Other models just don't work very well at all. It's comfortable to hold and overall the design supports an easy use. The Mini has several really amazing features that help make the entire process effortless. The first being the skin contact sensor that measures your skin tone before each light pulse, which makes sure you are using the strongest but safest light pulse for each pulse. It also sports several intensity and comfort settings to make sure that you have all the control and aren't in pain while using the device. All of this with a very quick firing light makes using the Mini effortless and incredibly quick compared to previous IPL devices I've used. The results are really great. After about 6 weeks I've seen really noticable results and because it's so easy to use is one reason I think the results will last. I don't dread using it and don't have to commit an hour to a treatment so continual use will be no problem. It has an automatic detection for skin tone so it measure what light level is needed. I am covered in tattoos so I did try it first on a small part of a leg tattoo that could easy be fixed if it damaged the color of it but had no issues using it on them. I love the compact size but I do wish it was wireless so I could use it anywhere in a more convenient comfortable spot in my house rather then plugged in the cord is long enough but that’s just me prefer cordless. I purchased this product last summer and began using it immediately. I love that I don't need to purchase gels to use with this, like many other machines, because I'm allergic to the ingredients in the gels. I used this for 5 weeks and really began seeing results mid-summer. I had to discontinue use of this due to pregnancy. However, it's February now, and I can still see the results. I still have a lot of hair growth, because I didn't use it for the full 8 weeks, but all hair that was removed during the summer is still gone. It has not grown back. Please understand that hair grows in cycles. This machine is only supposed to be used once per week for 8 weeks…possibly a little longer. While we may be impatient and want to get faster results, using it more frequently will not yield faster/better results because hair grows in cycles. You can't kill hair growth after you already killed it. You also can't kill hair growth that is not in active growing stage yet. I really started to notice results after 4 weeks of use because I was able to see the thinning of the hair that was growing in. After the 8 weeks of use are done, you may still need to use a round of it from time to time, as we develop new hair follicles every so often. This does not mean that the machine doesn't work. It simply means, your body is producing more hair follicles. This machine promises to get results in the same amount of time as getting your hair professionally removed. I too had high hopes for this product after having done lots of research. I too have fair skin and dark hair which should be the ideal combination for success. I followed all manufacturers recommendations for preparation prior to use. I "used up" the flash head that came with the unit and the overall result is absolutely no change in either the amount of hair or it's rate of regrowth. (Reality check…. the flash is used up when it no longer fires…. not after 5000 or however many flashes. That is a scam on an already overpriced item of questionable value) I went so far as to only use the unit on the high setting and was doing two, 10 minute sessions per day. Still no visible results. Great packaging…… convincing sales and video presentation on the ME web site……. but none of those things translate into an effective device. I've had laser hair removal completed in a dermatologist office multiple times (4-6x each at different offices over many years), I've also owned several at home devices. Nothing has ever worked long-term. I've owned my tria for almost a year and a half. It has changed my life. On my neck, chin and upper lip I have seen a 98% decrease in hair growth. Consistency is key. It is difficult in the beginning but it gets much easier and less painful as the laser decreases the amount of hair growth over time. I started using a topical lidocaine but after around 4 treatments I no longer needed it. Now I use weekly for maintenance and it takes maybe 2 minutes in the morning to just zap and move on with my day. I use it every week. I am now working on my arms and legs. The only downside is how time consuming it is to treat larger areas, I wish there was a larger tria. I would highly recommend this device. For those of us with excessive hair growth, stick with it and this will change your life. Ok so I’m a blonde so this didn’t do much for my hair but to be fair I gave up pretty early on. BUT you guys—it ANNIHILATED my spider veins. I’m so pasty white I’m literally translucent and I had 3 kids in 3 years and I had all sorts of little spider veins all over my thighs. I did a lot of googles about different lasers and this one is very similar to the ones they use in doctors offices to get rid of blue and purple spider veins. It absolutely does! I wish I took more before and after! Here’s a couple of tips—you’ll know when you hit a spider vein bc it’ll hurt. But sometimes you’ll be right over a vein and not feel anything. My tip—go slightly off center and kind of play around w tilting the laser at different angels. You’ll feel it, you’ll nail that vein and in a few weeks it’ll just slowly fade away. It doesn’t work immediately for the veins, but it absolutely works. Also, try doing it right after you get out of a warm bath, your veins will be more noticeable.Laura

I've been using it for 3 weeks. Once a week and I have noticed significant hair regrowth. There's a few here and there and this week was like a couple. So I can honestly say the product works. I haven't used other brands this was the first one I bought ever. So cant compare with other name brands. But, from experience sometimes you just pay more/extra because of the brand name. The product comes with warranty for peace of mind. To compare with the laser at laser clinics, well, I used to go to get it done at a laser clinic and spend a bit of money but with Covid I wasn't able to go back and get the retouch. This makes the product great value wise to compare to getting it done at a laser clinic. The price for having one to use at home outweighs the cost of going to a salon and it's money well spent as you will get that value in the first 4-6 uses. It does work does it work as good. I would say so from my experience using it around my bikini line. Just an fyi, I'm not a hairy person naturally but would still get a bit of hair down there. Not now! I also like that I use it in the privacy of my bathroom rather than going out to get it laser done. So convenience wise, superb! I guess you wont really believe the effects of this little power machine until you buy it. Absolutely incredible! It's still a bit early to tell just how long the results are going to last or how much hair is going to stay away when I've completed the treatments, but I'm three treatments in and have noticed a significant reduction in the amount of hair on my legs. Having gone through professional laser hair removal in the past, my wife and I have been looking forward to this in home option Conair has come up with to potentially save us some time and money. Let me start off by saying the packaging and device itself appear high quality perhaps leading consumers to believe they are getting a high quality product. It was easy for us to understand the instructions and the set up was very simple. It is a plug in device, not wireless, and it comes with two heads, one for your body and one for sensitive areas and your face. If you have ever received laser hair removal from a licensed professional, you know that it can be painful using the high intensity laser; this Lumilisse IPL Hair Remover is not painful at all but does cause a slight tingling sensation when the light flashes which you get used to after using it the first time. After adjusting the button on the side to my skin tone, I started off by using it on my body using the provided attachment and found it a little frustrating because you really need to ensure the device is seated directly on the skin otherwise it will not flash. I found that if you lift it off your skin and put it back down it seems to help with that by perhaps resetting the sensor. One of the other things I found frustrating is that in order to know whether it is properly pressed against the skin and ready to flash, you have to be able to see the green light on the back of the device flash before it will work; the problem is, depending on the area you are trying to use it on, you may not be able to view the green light so it becomes trial and error. One thing that concerns me is the device is made of plastic, understandably so, therefore you have to be careful when using it over a hard surface in the event you drop it, which fortunately I haven't done yet; my concern is that it may break the device or shatter the bulb which I believe you can't replace. Conair claims that the bulb provided should last 300,000 flashes which should last a very long time and you might not ever need to replace it. After using this device for a few weeks and approximately 20 treatments in the same area, my wife and I personally have not noticed much of a change in the amount of hair growth in those areas. Both my wife and I have fair skin and dark hair in the areas we have been using it on. Needless to say, so far we have been unimpressed however we will continue to use it in hopes that it is just a really slow process. I have always had a lot of excess body and facial hair, have spent decades having IPL at the beautician’s with limited success, and have suffered the rashes and ingrown hairs from shaving and waxing since I was a teenager. I have olive skin which tans easily with dark hair. This is the first product which has actually worked. Did my investigations/comparisons and decided to bite the bullet and purchase, luckily had vouchers for Chrimbo that covered a lot of the cost but definitely worth it. Apart from the testimonies, etc, another reason for purchasing was that there was a decent returns window if I found that this was not suitable for me. I had another brands device that was painful to use on the more sensitive parts and the treatment window was small thus was a chore to use, but this one was a absolute dream. Treatment time is so quick and easy, and a quick wipe keeps the Prestige looking like new. The first time I used the device I was surprised at how quickly I managed to do face, underarms, bikini and legs and no sensitivity afterwards either. As soon as I opened this beauty it struck me as very sleek and stylish which is how I want to feel after using the product. The instructions are very easy to follow and also have diagrams so you can’t go wrong really. When first using the lumea only put it to number 1 and give it time to warm up, you’ll know when it’s ready as it illuminates at the back of the lumea. When I used it for the very 1st time on number 1 I was surprised how warm it felt and was worried it would be to hot for me to use on level 4-5 which on the shade and tanning level of burning as advised in the instructions leaflet I could go up to but that wasn’t the case as it felt lovely. The best time to use your hair removal system is after shaving, waxing and epilating etc I usually use it a couple of days after shaving before using the lumea. I must admit it is quite time consuming using the system so I advise you deliberately set aside a good hour for yourself to have a well deserved pamper session after a stressful week at work or at home keeping things in order but it really is worth it as I have noticed a big difference in just 6 weeks of using it as I don’t have to shave as often and re-growth is less often so I’m hoping in time it’s near none existent. I do have one piece of advice for people with tattoos on areas that you use your lumea and it’s that I advise not to use it on them areas as it did feel like it was really burning badly and felt sore afterwards! It might be just me but I thought I would just put it out there incase it isn’t just me that had this problem. So I’ve never actually heard of an IPL machine until I started researching ways to reduce hair growth, smooth skin for longer etc and after reading up online, the Lumea was the product that was well know and the most talked about and liked product. I received the Lumea Advanced and it looked so classy and extremely well made, I read through the instructions and did my test site 24 hours before. First session – the instructions are clear and for the device and what it does, it’s very easy to use, I found when I am doing the treatment I have to reduce the intensity when I get to my knee caps and my ankles, it’s a very bizarre sensation at times but does not hurt at all, I did struggle up my shin bone as I have quite thin legs but I just turned the Lumea length ways and it’s seems to have worked fine. Afte the first session i already noticed a drastic change in hair growth, I only have to shave my underarm twice in the first 2 weeks and my legs once’s, I wasn’t expecting miricales but I was very surprised with the outcome after one treatment. It becomes difficult at times to get in the right position and get all areas but over time you learn and get in a flow/routine. Second Session – I felt the second session was a lot easier than the first session, as I knew what to expect and I also had mastered the art of using the Lumea and the angles to hold it at to ensure all areas were covered, again with the intensity I reduced by 1 around the ankle and the kneecap area. This time round I haven’t seen any drastic change, so shaved armpits 3 times and legs once. I’m due to do my 3rd treatment in 2 days and I’m excited to see the final result. This is the first time I have used a hair removal device. I have always shaved or used cream which didn’t really suit my skin. I have been using the product for over 6 weeks now on a bi weekly basis as per instructions. There are 5 settings that you can play around with until you get the right one for your skin. The skin tone sensor will prevent you from using too high a setting which is a great built in feature, I did have to go down a setting on occasion when the sensor picked up a change in my skin tone. So far, I have used on my legs and underarms building up the confidence to use in other areas. The small lightweight gun shaped design is easy to use and manoeuvre with a decent length cord to allow movement up and down the leg. Once you select the correct window attachment for the area (there are 3) you simply press the window on to the skin, wait for the light to let you know it is ready to go and press the button before moving on to the next area. You do have to keep track of the areas you have flashed but for larger areas you can press and hold for continuous pulses. There is a very bright flash to let you know it has delivered the pulse and although not painful, you are aware it has connected with the skin. After the first use, I didn’t think anything was happening but I noticed a real difference after the second use. I could also see where I had missed small areas but that is down to my inexperience of using this kind of device. By week 6 and the 3rd use, there was a definite improvement and although not silky smooth, there was perhaps 70% clear and I intend to keep going perfecting my use of the device. On a side note, this is not to be used on the eyebrows but it comes with a separate facial hair trimmer which can be used for this area which is a great addition.
