This works like a charm on my long, dark, thick arm hair. I know I shouldn't be so self-conscious abiout it, but it really makes a difference in my self-esteem when it is lightened. Be careful to measure carefully. If you use too much powder it may sting and itch a little bit. GiGi is great brand. I've always used (+10 years) their jar of wax, strip-free, and although a bit messy, I've learned to use it, almost hassle-free. I didn't care for this style of waxing…personal choice; however, I'd recommend others to at least try it. See if it works for them… It's a good price and was worth the experiment for me, anyway. I have always had to shave every day–sometimes twice! It seemed like the moment I stepped out of the shower, I already had stubble. On top of that, I have keratosis pilaris, so shaving was very irritating to my bumpy skin. I had wanted to try laser hair removal for a long time, but it's so expensive to treat all the areas–it would be at least $2,000 to treat everything. I figured if this device could even just help reduce the amount of shaving, it would be well worth the price. Since the hair on my legs grew back so quickly, I decided to take the extra time to carefully do individual pulses, especially on my calves. I figured out a really efficient way so that I get full coverage in less than 10 minutes for both legs. The results have been beyond my expectations! Even after the first treatment, my legs stayed stubble-free longer. After each treatment, it just kept getting better and better. I could see patches where there's the cycle of growth that showed me how much growth I would have normally had without shaving. Now I can go for a whole week and still not really feel like I need to shave! I also used it on my armpits and bikini area which always had razor burn. Not anymore–it's truly amazing! This was my first experience with IPL, so I was very nervous, but definitely excited. The instructions for the SmoothSkin Pure Fit IPL Hair Removal System were very simple and easy to understand. There are only 3 buttons on the whole machine, so you feel very confident that there's nothing you'll forget to do or do incorrectly. Once you turn the machine on, it's instantly ready to go and you can place it against your skin. The machine automatically determines the best setting strength for your hair color and skin tone, so there's no guess work. You can then choose one of 3 settings with the simple push of a button and you're ready to start! I found the machine to be very quiet and the actual process was somewhat uncomfortable, but it varied each time and depending on what area I was treating. I tried my legs, underarms and bikini area and mainly treated my underarms and bikini areas exclusively. Sometimes I felt the process wasn't painful at all and other times, there was a slight zapping sensation accompanied by a warmth. I don't feel that it wasn't anything that couldn't be tolerated. The SmoothSkin pure fit IPL hair removal system in black is a real game changer for in home hair removal. It is comes in a very nice boxed presentation in case you want to give it as a gift. I am laughing because would that be an insult to give this to someone, I do not think so if they ask for it as a gift. At any rate, the manufacturer produces and sends with the box contents a very thorough user guide that helps one figure out how to make sure that their skin tone works with the system. There are a couple of different ways to engage the laser light hair removal system. I personally like the button that allows for a continuous triggering of light to fry the hair follicles along the areas that you wish to remove hair from. The thing that I really like this time is that it came with an end cap that really helps target and minimize the light for smaller areas such as over the lip and facial hairs in tighter areas, plus under arm. I want to remind people reading this review that this is hair removal is not only for ladies but also men who have unwanted hair on their backs, their chests, etc. So, this is at least a 6 week process and commitment which also requires maintenance every so many weeks as hair tries to grow back. The user must first remove hair from the areas that are to be treated by either shaving, waxing, or tweezing. That gets the area as smooth as possible and then by doing a weekly treatment with the IPL, you gradually kill the hair follicle and thus, stop hair growth. However, those pesky follicles can come back so that is why a maintenance program is recommended. Clearly, it will not be a s much or as aggressive hair growth as in the beginning of the process, but there will be some regrowth and you tackle that as is necessary. I used this product with my wife. We have been using the SmoothSkin Pure Mini once a week for about 4 weeks now as the directions instructed. The manual says that you can do a full body treatment in as little as 10 minutes, but it took 10 to 15 minutes to do both full legs. The product has 2 settings, regular and sensitive, the difference is the brightness/strength of the light flash. There is an internal fan because the bright light does produce heat, it sounds like a quiet hair dryer. It is very easy to use, just put the window side flush against your skin and push the button (either regular or sensitive) and it will emit a bright flash against your skin. There is a sensor that detects if the window is completely flush against the skin and if it isn’t it will not flash. For areas where it is not flat skin (ex: knees) there is a magnetic attachment that fits over the window that makes the window area smaller allowing for the product to be flush against the skin and flash. There was no discomfort, redness or irritation when using the product. After about 10 minutes of use the flashes do get warmer and warmer which can cause discomfort, I just waited a minute or two for it to cool off a little and continued the treatment. We used the sensitive setting on the inside of the thighs and on the back of the knee area since these are more sensitive areas and the flashes on the regular setting were a little hot. My wife has light skin and light hair on her legs and the instructions say it works best on darker hair, so she was a little skeptical on whether this would work for her. It wasn’t until after her second treatment (week 2) that she noticed a change in the growth of hair on the treated area compared to the non-treated tattooed area. The hair was not growing back as quickly in the treated areas because it was shorter than the tattooed area hair. I noticed that some of the thicker hairs were not coming as thick and a little squirrely (not straight) which made me think the treatment was affecting the hair follicles. We will continue using this product and doing the weekly treatments for the full 12 weeks and I will update this review when the treatment is done.PaulieB1
Home IPL devices for hair removal can really be hit or miss. Sometimes they work great, but suffer from slow speed or the bulbs don't last very long. Other models just don't work very well at all. With the Smoothskin Mini those problems don't see to be an issue at all and the results are great. The device itself is incredibly compact, making it very easy to manuveur and get it angled exactly how you need it to get both large and small areas of skin. It's comfortable to hold and overall the design supports an easy use. The Mini has several really amazing features that help make the entire process effortless. The first being the skin contact sensor that measures your skin tone before each light pulse, which makes sure you are using the strongest but safest light pulse for each pulse. It also sports several intensity and comfort settings to make sure that you have all the control and aren't in pain while using the device. All of this with a very quick firing light makes using the Mini effortless and incredibly quick compared to previous IPL devices I've used. The results are really great. After about 6 weeks I've seen really noticable results and because it's so easy to use is one reason I think the results will last. I don't dread using it and don't have to commit an hour to a treatment so continual use will be no problem. Smoothskin Mini IPL hair remover does what it says. Instructions are clear and easy to understand. Comes with 2 comfort modes and three intensity levels for sensitive areas and more stubborn thicker hair and an attachment for precision it comes in handy for smaller spots. It has an automatic detection for skin tone so it measure what light level is needed. I am covered in tattoos so I did try it first on a small part of a leg tattoo that could easy be fixed if it damaged the color of it but had no issues using it on them. I love the compact size but I do wish it was wireless so I could use it anywhere in a more convenient comfortable spot in my house rather then plugged in the cord is long enough but that’s just me prefer cordless. I started with my armpits and bikini area once a week as directed those spots have the thicker hair on my body I noticed the difference of less hair growth in about 3 weeks but feel like if you had more thick corse hair it will take longer, I’ve shaved my armpits less often the hair also that grows back is thinner I hope eventually I won’t have to shave at all yay! I did my legs which the hair is very thin it takes about maybe 15-20 mins to do both legs entirely I’ve seen the difference with hair growth much more in a few weeks some spots hair has not grown back at all I do rub vitamin E oil on my legs and other areas on my body about 30 mins after to soothe my skin although it’s nothing like waxing no skin irritation at all. I've been to professional sugaring salons and I usually love it. I've been using a sally Hansen wax at home during the pandemic but I bought this when my local ulta was out. This was dreadful. I first tried a week ago but it didn't grab any of the hair. I waited a week for my hair to be a bit longer. That helped but it was still tortuous. Bikini area missed lots of hairs. Underarms only pulled out like 5 each. The hair of my lower legs-seems like it just broke off at the skin rather than pulling from the root. I'll order the regular sally Hansen online next time.AO
if i could give this product zero stars i would. For the past year i've been making my own sugar wax at home. i got tired of it and wanted to try out something else. Did countless research and found this product. To start off with, after putting the wax down and put the strip on, once i pulled nothing came off. the wax was stuck to my skin and wouldn't come off. They give zero instructions to begin with on what to do if wax does get stuck. Tried my legs, armpits and brazilian with this product and NO LUCK. barely any hairs came off and i was stuck in the shower for over an hour trying to get all the wax off my skin. Truthfully, it works best for nose hairs. I had bought the 'flawless' model for the fine hairs around my lips & jawline & it is great – 5 stars. But it isn't shaped to get at nose hairs. This one is, so I got it, too. Both have become an easy part of my routine. (I dealt with the depilatory creams so long & dreaded using them. Very happy to toss those.) Now, every few days I take (literally) about 1 minute to go over any area that needs attention. Not only is the hair not growing back thicker, it's also not growing back as fast. Someone made a comment above me that they said that these were used that is not true. I don'۪t know why she had a white powder or whatever on hers but maybe Santa used it lol anyways to get to the point I used mine for the first time yesterday when I received it it has a cap on it to keep it safe and clean and mine did not have a powder mine are brand new. Unfortunately a few years ago I shaved my chin because I had like baby hairs which turned into whiskers so they can be hard to remove. this little gadget remove them very easily did not cut me at all I was even able to get the hairs on my upper lip works great and I will definitely buy them again. But just for cleanliness I would take a little alcohol and wipe it off when you'۪re finished before you put your cap back on. I think it would take a long time to have to buy more since you get so many. I love how my face feels and my make up goes on after dermaplaning. I go to a local beauty spa to get it done. With the expense I don'۪t do it as often as I would love to. A friend of mine said she does her own I thought about trying, but never did. When Covid-19 hit and I was forced to stay home I decided this would an excellent time to try. I found a YouTube video with an '''expert' dermaplaner tried different blades from Amazon…this was one of them. Although it wasn'۪t her favorite of the three she showed it did get the job done. I went to order her favorite which had lots of high reviews, however the low ones and WARNINGS made me skeptical. The blades on it were excellent to the point that it was dangerous…basically a straight razor. One even added she had contacted Amazon to have it removed. I decided for a first timer it wasn'۪t the one to try. Now for this one….I know I made the right choice. This one doesn'۪t have the large straight razor edge like the other. To me it'۪s more of a '''safety' edge, but it really removes the hair. The blade is smaller than others I saw which allows you better control for hard areas. I did watch a tutorial YouTube video which I think is needed for newbies like me. Skin prep before and after, the direction, and way you hold the blade I think is key for success. For the money I think this pack is great….I paid $7.99 for a 12 pack. They suggest you can use a several times before disposing of it as long as you use alcohol on it in between. I was really hoping this item would be worth the price as it is really cute and small enough for tiny areas but unfortunately for me it does not do the job. If you are undergoing laser hair removal, you will be advised not to wax or pluck at all between appointments. You are advised to only "shave". I have been using this product off on for a couple of years. It works well when it works. However, it tends to get clugged up really easily. Even when you clean it out thoroghly it still isn't as clean as you think it is. Because there is a part in the top where you screw it on, and you cannot see all the hair that builds up in there. So, you even need to take that piece apart. But, be careful this is a little tricky because there are a lot of mall parts that can get lost. I suggest you use tweezers to this process on a table if you do not want lose any of those pieces. Overall, I would not recommend this product for an adolescent or someone who is unable to keep up with the cleaning process of this prosuct. I received this about 6 days ago, my first impression of the flawless hair removal device was excellent although I found the way to insert the battery could been better as it is sometimes hard to slide out/in. I like how the cap is easy to remove emptying the hairs, it’s really convenient to just stick it in my purse when on the go! My boyfriend and I got bored today and we decided that he could wax my legs and I could wax his back since we both hadn’t shaved in awhile. I literally haven’t laughed this hard… ever. If I could post the video on here, I would. Honestly a great idea for bored couples needing something new to spend time together. I watched some YouTube reviews after I bought it and they all said it sucked and it didn’t work and LET ME TELL YA those people are big fat liars. You stick that puppy on there and leave it for about thirty seconds and then yank it off and ALL that hair is gone. We only had two problems the whole time. 1) He pulled too much at an angle one time and it ripped so he had to do it again (ouch). And 2) Idk if you can pull it too fast but one time the strip came off and the wax didn’t. The wipes are amazing though. They’re super slick and oily and with the tiniest bit of pressure that stuff comes right off. Highly recommend a cold wet washcloth to place on the area after you rip it. Anyways I’d give these bad boys an 8/10 for functionality and 10/10 for entertainment.Madeline
Very disappointing. The packaging and color is super cute but the results were not. I usually get Clean Easy wax strips but since I couldn't find any, I bought these. I cleaned my armpit with toner and added talcum to ensure drieness and I popped it on. It only caught one hair and was the wax is too soft and wet for my taste. Then the wipes are drenched in a oil, which was nice I guess but it leaves your fingers and hand all oily. Had to wash my hands twice because after the first strip, I wouldn't be able to pull the next one since it was slippery. Also I couldn't rip "too fast" otherwise paper you're holding rips off. These wax strips are the worst. They smell like grape cough syrup, and have a jelly like texture to them instead of a hard wax. They dont do a good job of ripping the hair out, maybe 1/3 of the hairs under the strip come out, most of them just get broken off at the skin or aren't affected at all. Yes I was using them correctly. This is not my first time waxing at home, I read all the instructions, and even after using them correctly they didnt work anywhere near as well as any other wax strip. They're all garbage. So now the hair will grow back unevenly where some were broken off while others were successfully pulled out. Don't buy this product.Krista

I have other DermaFlash devices that I love but unfortunately this one unfortunately falls way below average! It is made so cheaply that I was extremely disappointed when I opened it, inserted, the battery, and used it! I could not in good conscience recommend this product! Not only should the plastic have been much more formidable, but the vibration should have been a bit stronger! The roller ball is useless as it is…had it had some vibration it would help bring down any swelling as this product claims to for puffy eyes! This is great for reaching anywhere you are nervous about using the larger Dermaflash wand and want precision, like near your eyebrows. I will say that the razor on the end is a little more loosely fitted than on the larger wand. I thought about returning for another due to this because it might present a safety issue, but the razor seems to stay put. It can be popped out with some light finger pressure though without pushing the eject button. So I deduct a star for this.JJ
I was excited to try out the Dermaflash Mini for the peach fuzz removal and the de-puffing rollerball. The rollerball is really nice and I noticed my under eye bags lessen after using it a minute. I’m not sure how long the de-puffing lasts, but it really feels nice and relaxing to use the rollerball all over my face. As far as the de-fuzzing goes, the razor removes peach fuzz but not as much peach fuzz as disposable razors do. It was a little disappointing to read the razors are only supposed to be used once so that adds an extra cost if you were to use this product more than 3 times (it comes with 3 blades). I had to use a disposable razor to finish the peach fuzz removal. I really like how small the product is and I will probably bring it with me when traveling for any peach fuzz touchups, though. I've had this razor for a few years now. Prior to that, I had the Braun PocketGo (same razor, different color/name). I also have a more expensive top-of-the-line Braun electric razor, too. But … if I had to chose only one electric razor, it would be this "cheap" little mobile shaver. It simply is a great product, gives a great shave (for an electric razor), and won't break the bank. I like the fact that it uses BATTERIES (two AA-size batteries) rather than a rechargeable battery. It makes it more mobile. I keep one of these in my vehicle, and the other in my briefcase. I actually prefer using a DE safety razor, but that takes more time to use (prep and shave). So, if I'm in a hurry or just want easy, then my Braun MobileShaver is the winner. A good shaver to keep in the car. I've had 3 or 4 other travel razors, and this is by far the best. It's large enough to handle easily, most are too small. The "Tac" shaver that Wal Mart sells is an example of too small. I recently bought one of those, and threw it away after a few weeks. I decided to try this shaver after reading the reviews and was really impressed by its performance. Although battery powered and small enough to put in your pocket this shaver gets the job done. Gets me a close shave that is very smooth…I do have to pass back and forth a few times but it really does a clean job. It also is waterproof and can be used in the shower and tub if you're the type who likes to shave while bathing. Comes with a small detachable brush for hair removal. I love the protective switch to prevent from accidental turn ons and running down your batteries if you are traveling with it. I would give it a 8! The pros are…. You never have to worry about cutting yourself. Your hair also does not grow back as fast as if you would shave or wax. I like it because I can bring it in my purse with me if I'm going somewhere and we realized that I might need it row quick and I can go right into the ladies Room and fix a spot that I missed That's one of the main things I liked about it. I feel like I am always in a hurry so I forget to do things or I forget to shave 1 leg and not the other lol. The only cons that I have, are You always have to make sure that the batteries in it are a good brand. It doesn't work as well if you use cheaper batteries. Which that's OK with me however I don't think it should matter what batteries are in it I think it should just work the same. And the other con that I have, is that I had a hard time cleaning it. At least for the 1st time… there several different things you have to take apart and clean and put back together so it's kind of like a puzzle lol but once you do it once or twice then you'll know how to do it. I ended up buying all 3! the 1 for my legs the one for a facial hair and the 1 for my eyebrows. And I will say, that the 1 for the eyebrows is absolutely my favorite. I would give that a 9.25 and the facial hair flawless remover, I would give about a 9. It's definitely worth the money! It definitely removed some hair, I don't know why it didn't get all of it, because my hair has never been thick. Also, IT STINKS. It smells even worse while removing it off the skin. The product needed more information on don't do's, like can you wash your skin (of the smell) or can you apply a second time? or how long before you can apply a second time?S
I did a patch test in my bikini area for 6 minutes and I didn't have a bad reaction but also it only took away half the hair. So a few days later I decided to apply all over and leave it for 10 minutes nothing more as they said don't exceed 10 min. But I STILL GOT A CHEMICAL BURN. it was so painful I never experienced such pain before. It was so hard to wash and only cold water help. I later applied neosporin and after that day I've been using coconut oil to not let my already burned skin rub against each other and cause me more pain. I'm never using it again. I used this product on my chest and torso. I’ve waxed before with similar products but the store ran out of what I normally use so I bought this. First of all, the instructions are very unclear. It tells me to microwave the cup of wax for 30 seconds. Is this with the lid on or off? What about the seal under the lid? I’m supposed to wait for it to cool down. How long is that for? The popsicle sticks make it hard to control where I want to wax too. Other products have a “stylist” for waxing. The wax itself is very bad. I understand that it’s supposed to be sticky but this was unreasonably so. I thought since it being so sticky that it would pull hairs well. It does not. I do have thick and deep hairs, but out of 10 it would only pull 1. Not only that but the wax pulled off the first layer of skin on a few spots on my chest. On top of that the wax is incredibly annoying to clean off the skin, as it does not stay and pull off at once. Because of that I have to scrub hard on irritated or lack of skin to get the wax off. The product comes with a tiny bottle of oil to help clean off the wax. It doesn’t help at all. And if it did it wouldn’t be enough. The final results of using the product are patchy spots of hair on my skin, scabs, and irritation, causing red bumps all over.Payton
Initially, I wasn’t inlove with this product. It was sticky and I didn’t know how to handle the mess. It requires time and patience. Firstly, purchase a bottle of jojoba oil. Rub it onto your hands before beginning. Take your time throughout the process. Don’t worry about the mess (because the jojoba oil will remove the stickiness from your bathroom). After a while, you’ll know how to contain the mess by using thin layers and small amounts of the product at a time. This product is perfect for coarse hair. I’ve used it all over including, armpit, bikini area and legs. It will remove all the hair efficiently. Always remember to smooth the wax paper thoroughly and this will avoid any left over residue, but if you do have residual wax, grab a paper towel with jojoba oil and just rub it out – it works. Make certain your body is clean, you’ve exfoliated the day before and you’re working with a surface clear of lotion, oils, deodorant etc. After you’re done, moisturize the area with oil. I did everything right (clean, dry, little baby powder to protect my skin) and every single time it stuck to both the skin and the paper strip equally. The wax looks like when you halve a grilled cheese and it streeetches in the middle, except your hairs are stuck in there too. Even when I tried letting it cool on my skin, it was still gooey like glue, and I ended up BRUISED from all the pulling and tugging. It was extremely painful, but I kept trying to make it work assuming it was operator error. I tried applying it thinner, thicker, hotter, colder, this direction, that direction, NOTHING worked. So far, I've used the "puffy" net washing attachment. I bought the device so I could reach my back while washing in the shower. Unfortunately, it seems to have a life of its own, and spins/vibrates so wildly, that I keep losing my grip on the handle! It falls onto the shower floor. I bought this knowing the reviews were terrible but I still thought I'd give it a shot. Keep in mind I'm middle eastern so your girl is h a i r y. This was one of the quickest wax's I've ever done & I've tried every wax hair removal under the sun. I did my lower legs in less than 10 minutes I kid you not. I knew I had to run to the reviews to tell you all. If you follow the directions to a T, you'll be set. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is due to the fact that there isn't not enough wax. I did both my lower legs & I used more than half. If you were run out of wax mid way, you'd need to heat up another wax for another 45 minutes. So as long as you got time, you're good to go. It also can be very sticky but that's how all the All Purpose Honee consistency is but nothing a little oil can't help!Zay
it's not so bad of a product. If you are a smaller person with fine to lightly coarse hair then this is a perfect product for you. I on the other hand have coarse hair and a lot of body area to cover so this wasn't nearly enough to get the job done. One cartridge covered one and a quarter legs. I had to shave the rest of the way. I did like this and I will do it again however I will need a lot of wax on hand because this does take a lot since there's not a lot of product.arbi
