I’m really surprised how much I like this..and really surprised by how many negative reviews. I received this in my last Sephora order as a sample. I finally got around to trying it on a day I knew I’d be home the whole day because I knew even the lightest color in the sample would be too dark but I wanted to test out the texture and wear time. The moment I applied it I thought it went on really gorgeously. True medium coverage and really lovely natural to slightly dewy finish (but not at all oily looking.) Didn’t cake into any of my fine lines or nose pores (90% of foundation look AWFUL on my nose no matter what I do.) So I decided to look at the review here to see what people are saying and was surprised by some of the negative comments. So I thought well maybe I have to wait a few hours and it will look terrible then. But it never did, even 10 hours later, it still looked pretty darn good! Although I am light skinned, I have unbelievable problems with foundations. Either too light or dark. Most cast grey or orangey. No matter what most say, they are pretty drying to my skin which is already dry. I am 67 and luckily don't have many wrinkles but do have some sun spots especially on my forehead with a dry patch. I tried this foundation because I wanted something that would provide even coverage for mild/moderate acne without aggravating sensitive skin. I had a virtual consultation and was matched to Alabaster, the lightest shade, but it turned out to be quite orangey on me, and definitely too dark to get away with only using it on certain problem areas. Also, even though it says it will work for dry skin, I found it incredibly drying, clinging to drier areas and settling into creases that are otherwise invisible! It provided good coverage, although it was heavier than I wanted it to be, but overall it just looked super cakey so I sent it back. I'm grateful that Clinique does free returns for online orders! You can't rely on foundation shades printed from random laser printers?!?! This entire experience of hoping for a great liquid salicylic acid acne medication foundation that came in a limited number of like 8 skin tones reminded me way too much of the time I wasted thinking the Clinique Liquid Acne Foundation would be a good fit. In fact, the situations are eerily similar. Both are skin-care geared brands. What on earth. How lame. Why can't they get it together and do some decent skin tone research? What in the actual eff? It is not like they are poor companies. What a joke. Uck. This makeup has decent coverage I would say about medium. It dries very well without setting. The color was dark for me but I used it as a first layer and used some concealer. Even though it doesn’t claim to be foundation it works very well. It does have a scent that I think is very pleasant. The one thing I would bring up was the instructions said you can apply it 1-3 times a day but I wouldn’t and didn’t do that. It lasted around 8 hours for me and I did not use primer. I didn’t feel like it dried out my face and the oil was controlled. Impressive to say the least. This is not for me. Don‘t get me wrong. This has great pigment and to mix it with SPF can give you a nice coverage. But if you have dry or dehydrated skin from Tret like I do this is not for you. For buying a new foundation on-line, the 37N turned out great for my neutral medium skin tone. Just a tad light, but going into winter and my mineral powder provides enough color on top. I read the directions on-line before purchasing since this is a blendable formula you must mix each time and express any product from the applicator to get fresh product. Had some difficulty at first as it seemed product was stuck in the squeeze dropper so nothing was going into it or coming out. I was able to free up the product finally to apply. I discoverd this brand after an accidnt left my face badly bruised (to put it lightly) A few years ago & this was the only brand that completely coverd my bruises w/o looking caked on (Dermablend Cover Creme Full Coverage Foundation) This was my 1st time using the drops & I'm in love all over again, it's perfect for everyday use, has awesome awesome coverage while still feeling super light on my skin & lasts all day! Im actually able to get the full coverage I've been looking for with just 1 drop & even then i still have some of the tiny drop left over when I'm done! & all that at a reasonable price, another one of the reasons why I love it! I’ve stopped wearing #foundation for the most part but sometimes I enjoy it. I usually go for drugstore brands though which I think is a mistake, all the ones I’ve tried feel heavy and make my skin look worse over time and are a little off color and I just think that if you have the money and you have the option to splurge on a higher end foundation it’s worth it and you’ll probably notice quite a difference. These #Sephora #liquidfoundation samples arrived in the mail today and I decided to try it on. It’s lovely as can be and you really can’t tell in the picture and video because of lighting and the camera I was using, but it covers my imperfections and slight redness very very well. I wouldn’t call it flawless coverage, but it’s close! Instead, it looks pretty natural. It says it has a “lightweight natural finish” and that is correct, it does. Only I know I could find a shade that matches my skin tone better. But it is far from heavy, I can barely feel it, it feels almost refreshing. The cool part is that it is advertised as a longwear foundation that ~improves the look of skin over time~ and of course I can’t test that out for you from this little sample, but the rest of the advertising is accurate for what that’s worth. I think avoiding foundation and going for #skincare such as serum and lotion instead will best improve my skin but if I wore foundation regularly I would want something like this that is comfortable to wear, medium buildable coverage, and has ingredients that “improve the look of skin over time” and “clinically proven to reduce signs of stress fatigue” with #AntiPollution + 12 hour #hydration. Enriched with #algae extracts and #hyaluronicacid. I do love my hyaluronic acid. This product is #Vegan, #NonComedogenic, and #DermatologistTested – the full size #makeup bottle is made with 30% #recycled glass I notice this stuff even has a little bit of #squalene in it. It’s made in Paris, France. And it is available in 50 shades!! I would physically go to Sephora and ask for assistance in picking out just the right shade for you. I have been looking for a new foundation that would work on mature, dry skin. Something that would look like skin but still give up to medium coverage. I saw a YouTube video that mentioned this one. The price point is great and so many shades to choose from. I used the shade finder and it found me a perfect match for my skin. One complaint..the color swatches it showed me were not very accurate. I found them to be darker than they should be. I went by the written description. This foundation is lovely. It glides over my pores and fine lines. It feels weightless to me.It works beautifully on dry skin but it's not heavy with moisturizing ingredients. No fragrance. It dries nicely but I always lightly powder certain areas to help any foundation set. I haven't seen any oxidation in the color. I find it wears all day without added primer or setting spray under normal conditions. Hot, humid weather creatures issues for any makeup so use whatever you like to help it along. Was not crazy about this. I have dry/combination skin, because I use retin-A. So I have some sports that are more oily and others that are dry/flaky. This didn’t address either one. It also had a very orange tint, despite using the fair/cool color. The package is a little difficult to use because you have to tap the powder out and I feel like some of it goes to waste if you tap out too much. The only reason I didn’t give it one star is because it didn’t exacerbate my current acne. Would only recommend if you are tan/warm skin tones, and have oily/acne skin.nora.c

First of all I want to start saying that I wanted to give a thoughtful review after using this product for a certain and decent amount of time. Unfortunately, the sample given to me was a little dark for my skin tone, but on days where I was bronzed worked better! On my skin it oxidized a little bit, all of the times, but nothing too crazy. If you have DRY skin, this is a big no no for you. It definitely dries out from The fact that 1) is a powder foundation and 2) contents salycilic acid. You would need to pay extra attention on your skins moisture and hydration in order to have a more natural and clean finish. One of the PROS of this foundations is definitely the feel. Even though you apply a few lawyers, the feel to the touch is skin-like, so that’s super useful when in summer! Because I’ve had dry patches on my skin because of blemishes that were drying out, it definitely was more visible when I applied the foundation. The finish is NOT full coverage, st all. Maybe if you have blemishes that are flattened and less red. But if you have acne marks like me, and you’re fair skin toned, it will definitely show that, doesn’t matter how many layers. But honestly I didn’t mind, I find the coverage is great until medium and is still really breathable! I didn’t feel the necessity to conceal my eyes because I tried twice with different concealers and didn’t look that good or natural! It didn’t look bad, but the finish is better without it (in my opinion). It definitely helps drying out blemishes! But I personally don’t like powder on my skin because I feel it prevents the pores from breathing and cream foundations are more natural and easier to absorb naturally, showing the natural grease of your face while wearing it for a long time in a better way that with powder (because it separates at a point) It’s not a bad foundation at all! It’s breathable, buildable up to medium coverage, I love the ingredients but is NOT long wearing! I would recommend it for oily acne-prone skin rather than dry! This makeup goes on so smooth, feels good on my skin. No oily residue, and is so light that I almost feel like I'm not even wearing makeup. It helps to correct the discoloration I've experienced from acne scarring and skin damage. So my skin comes out looking more even and radiant. I purchased the Deep 50 shade and it blends perfectly into my skin. It evens out my skin tone and makes it look very sooth and natural. Since my skin is naturally oily I do set this with a powder. It does get a little shiny through the day, which is why I took off a star, but I just use translucent powder to fix it up if needed. Nothing ever stays completely matte on me, so its not a big deal. By winter my skin will be a little drier, so that won't be much of a problem anymore. I can't feel it when its on my skin, which is something I look for with and liquid face product. My skin is very sensitive and any product that is even slightly greasy or heavy feeling causes irritation. I have had no issues with this product so far and will definitely be repurchasing it.Shellynn
I had my sister and I both try this as we both suffer from acne and have different skin types. I thought that it would be nice to see how both of our faces reacted to this product. My sister tends to breakout a little more than I do and has oilier skin while mine tends to be more combination. I had never used many neutrogena products before but I really liked these and so did my sister. We are definitely the lighter shade right now in the winter but the darker shade will be great for summer. It did not make either of our faces breakout anymore than usual and if anything it seemed to help my sisters breakout less. The coverage isn't the best but it looks really nice on with the rest of my makeup. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by this product and would use it again for sure! I started using foundation back in 2000, when I had just started my freshman year of high school. It is able to cover all my imperfections and doesn't cause me to break out just simply feels great against my skin. PLUS- it contains salicylic acid which helps with my acne makes sure not to clog my pores. I absolutely hate to cover my breakouts with makeup because I feel like I am not letting it heal and possibly making the situation worse. However, when I use this foundation, I feel a lot better knowing that the breakout is being treated instead of worsened. In addition, I do feel like my breakouts clear up a lot faster when I use this foundation while pairing it with the . I'm definitely more about concealer than foundation, but I "borrowed" this from my mother when I needed it. At first I was a little concerned about having a product with salicylic acid that I might blend under my eyes, but I usually just don't put it there. And when I have, it has not irritated the skin. I have dry, somewhat sensitive skin, with some acne scarring blackheads and whiteheads, and a few occasional hormonal pimples. At one point I ran out of my acne medication and this makeup was my only treatment other than facewash. It can be a little drying, but as long as I moisturize, it looks great on my skin. It has buildable coverage, though if I put more than one or two layers, it looks cakey. I usually wear it over primer, but Saturday, when I had a small but mighty pimple near my chin, I skipped over the pimple with my primer so the salicylic acid could do its work. This is a solid choice for a foundation and I would definitely recommend it.
I had high hopes for this product when I ordered it during a massive sale that Neutrogena was having on their website. I even went and spent hours inside a random drugstore looking at bottles of the colors trying to figure out which shade of the foundation would be the right shade for me. Neutrogena even provides a booklet with color swatches. No dice. The "booklet" they provide is way off. Whoever does their printing prints like… text books. You can't rely on foundation shades printed from random laser printers?!?! This entire experience of hoping for a great liquid salicylic acid acne medication foundation that came in a limited number of like 8 skin tones reminded me way too much of the time I wasted thinking the Clinique Liquid Acne Foundation would be a good fit. In fact, the situations are eerily similar. Both are skin-care geared brands. What on earth. How lame. Why can't they get it together and do some decent skin tone research? What in the actual eff? It is not like they are poor companies. What a joke. Uck. This experience was just worse though because at Sephora or Clinique you can either sample the color or ask a salesperson to swatch the color for you. At the drugstore you cant. I am in my late 60s with normal to dry skin and let me tell you, I'm already in love with this L'Oréal Infallible Freshwear powder foundation! A lot of the reviews I've read have come from younger folks with oiler skin who rave about how awesome it is for oily, textured skin. Well, I'm here to tell you that my skin is mature, on the drier side, with dark spots, texture and wrinkles, and this stuff is magic IF you take the time to BUFF IT IN!! Thats the big key here. I just received my package and couldn't wait to try it out, so without prepping my skin like I usually do before applying foundation (although I still had whatever leftover skincare on my face from last night, which basically after 12 hours was gone), took a full, dense, soft powder foundation brush (Elf ultimate blending brush for example) and started working that baby into my skin. OMG the formula was so creamy I just kept blending and blending, and my pores started to disappear, my dark spots began to be less noticeable, and my skin had a smooth, creamy, natural appearance like no other powder foundation I've ever tried (that includes my high end products). Imagine with prepped skin how this could be! The hype is very real with this, I had to check it out for myself because I have dry, older skin, and sometimes powder foundations can make my skin look drier and too matte. Not this stuff, but the key for me was to buff buff buff it into my pores, which produced the creamiest, loveliest, soft matte glow that totally smoothed out my pores, lines, and nicely covered my dark spots. I bought this on an absolute whim because I needed a portable foundation that I could apply with no extra tools. Firstly, applying with the sponge is the worst idea I've ever heard of. The powder was patchy, streaky and lasted about 30 minutes and eventually rubbed off completely during the day when I got oily. For my second try, I used a brush and the difference was night and day! The color matched better, covered the spots I wanted covered and didn't look cakey or powdery. My oils did break through but even late in the day, I don't look like a greasy monster. I still look fresh and nothing has rubbed off. This did cling to concealer under my eyes so I won't be using it that way again. I'm highly impressed and happy that the second try justified the price tag of this powder!! This is nowhere close to full coverage, I'd say a medium at best unless you want to apply 47 layers.
Ok, serious foundation talk right NOW. I was struggling so much with a powder foundation from another big brand that I decided to get me a new one instead of insisting on it. That's how I met the Infallible Powder Foundation and it was love from the first… application. I have considerably large pores, my skin is pretty oily and there are a few wrinkles here and there (if you're almost 40, you know what I mean). I decided to test it with not a single drop of primer on my face so it wouldn't interfere on pore appearance and shine. I was flabbergasted! I used the sponge that comes with the foundation (wanted to see how it'd look on the go) and suddenly I had no visible pores. The coverage was medium to full, totally buildable and not even close to cakey. It looked like my mirror had filters. Acne pigmentation? Gone. Redness? Gone. Dark circles? Pretty much gone, but I confess I like it better with a tiny bit of concealer to help. This is BY FAR the best powder foundation I've ever used, no joke. And to think it only cost me $12, it's definitely a holy grail for me. I must mention that even though it last 12h on my face, mainly my fault for touching it all the time, it does last for good 6-8h with a setting spray, which absolutely amazing for my skin. I love this foundation! For the price, I think this is totally worth the money compared to other high end foundations. It comes out thick, but thins out beautifully on the skin and feels weightless. It wears really well throughout the day, but does start to break apart around the 8-9 hour mark for me. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t get oily in the T-zone, especially my forehead. (I almost always get oily there throughout the day.) Very minor creases in my smile lines. Other foundations tend to crease really bad for me. This foundation is my baby! I bought this a while back when I was low on cash because its not as pricey as most high end foundations. I used it for a while mixed with moisturizer which worked amazing as a tinted moisturizer. Then I started testing a ton of drug store foundations and hadn't used it for about a month but once I came back to it I was shocked at how good it is. It doesn't emphasize texture on my face. It doesn't emphasize my pores. It feels so light weight, its easy to blend and so full coverage. It covers every bit of pigmentation and redness on my face and it feels like nothing is there! I prefer to use it on its own but sometimes I mix it in with a more dewy foundation depending on the weather. I also find that its good for sensitive skin. Alot of foundations cause me to break out or make my face feel a bit irritated but this foundation doesn't do that, it just seems so gentle. So this will always be in my bag or at my beauty station forever and always because its so affordable and just works so well. The packaging is also great. Its simple and cute. The bottle feels heavy and luxurious and it comes with a pump but somehow its only 20 dollars?! I would recommend this product to everyone. Its amazing.😍😍😍😘sherry.b
I really love this foundation! It has a pretty thick consistency which is something i prefer as i have pretty dry skin. as the description claims it has a natural finish which worried me a little because i have dry skin but as long as you thoroughly moisturize beforehand, the foundation sits very beautifully on the skin. also, despite the thick consistency the foundation is surprisingly light on the skin!!! it doesn’t feel super wet (i’ve used some thick foundations that still feel tacky hours after application) but this foundation really finishes natural. however, i rate this 4 stars rather than a full 5 because it does tend to crease throughout the night. it doesn’t crease super majorly but my smiles lines and creases around my under eye become more visible and defined if i wear it for an elongated amount of time (3 hours). tl;dr it’s a pretty good foundation for the price and from sephora brand!!! i would recommend this foundation to normal to oily skin but if you moisturize thoroughly, the foundation can work for you too!!! ^nanda.g

In fact, it has probably become one of my favorite foundations I would say this is a tie with the LOreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation for me which is my other top pick. I am NOT a full coverage foundation kinda girl, my skin just does not like anything over medium coverage, I start to look really cakey, and this is perfect medium coverage. I do feel like you can build it to high mediumlow full coverage if you need to. You cant feel it on the skin, it gives a beautiful natural finish, and is fairly long lasting. I have normal to dry skin in the fallwinter and more normal to combo skin in springsummer. I do need to touch up a little around the 68 hr mark but after that Im usually good until Im ready to take it off before bed. This foundation looks like my skin but better and offers pretty decent coverage to even everything out. I do usually need to set this foundation w setting powder as it tends to stay a little tacky, at least on my skin. This is one of the only foundations I own or have tried that always looks good whenever I use it. I often walk around places such as MYER and David jones and admire all of the more higher class products and dream of having enough money to splurge on these upper end products. When I was invited to the Clinique trial I was so excited Finally I get to try one of these products without having to splurge on myself When receiving the foundation the presentation and box were absolutely stunning So pretty I just wanted to put the box on display I opted it up and the bottle was quite small. You need to squeeze the bottle to use the product which Im not used to, I usually use one with pump action. I didnt like this, I found it hard to use and get the right amount out and Im assuming when you get towards the end of the bottle it would be difficult to get out the remaining product without wasting it. This is one flaw I would change.I was really amazed at the colour match. When I was choosing my colour on the website it had this really cool feature which allowed you to chose your current makeup brand and shade and then it would match it to which Clinique shade you should choose. I was a manager at Clinique, and at that time, Beyond Perfecting was just hitting the shelves, and I've been loyal ever since. I've given up free gratis from other lines and paid full price to purchase this over all of them. I will never try to go anywhere else in foundation. I've tried a few such as the Even Better Glow and the Even Better Refresh and they are fine, but they do not pack a power punch like this one. I have dry combo/normal skin, and this fits comfortably on my skin. If you want to matte it down or take the shine down, put an HD powder over it. Yes, it can transfer, but then I would try a lighter coverage foundation in general, especially if you are not ready for this FULL coverage foundation. This covers it all.Stina

I started using foundation back in 2000, when I had just started my freshman year of high school. I unfortunately was one of those teenagers who had to start the constant battle of ACNE PRONE SKIN and I was tired of tormenting myself with extensive expensive products routines. It wasn't until the day I discovered this Neutrogena Skin Clearing product that my whole life changed. It's now 2020 and I'm still using the exact same foundation color *NUDE 40* I still see a noticeable difference in my skin after I apply it as part of my Everyday Beauty Routine. It gives me fantastic coverage without looking heavy or cakey my skin just looks natural healthy because of its smooth and light texture. It is able to cover all my imperfections and doesn't cause me to break out just simply feels great against my skin. PLUS- it contains salicylic acid which helps with my acne makes sure not to clog my pores. I absolutely hate to cover my breakouts with makeup because I feel like I am not letting it heal and possibly making the situation worse. However, when I use this foundation, I feel a lot better knowing that the breakout is being treated instead of worsened. In addition, I do feel like my breakouts clear up a lot faster when I use this foundation while pairing it with the . Though it's a little pricey for a drugstore Brand Foundation, Powder, Concealer constant monthly purchase, its continued Quality and Benefits will keep me continuing to re-purchase recommend it to other people who could benefit from it. Neutrogena Skinclearing Liquid Makeup really doesn’t work for my skin. I bought a bottle to cover up the breakouts I was getting on my chin at the time with the hopes that it would also help treat my acne. Unfortunately, the formula was far too thin and runny to cover much of anything. Even after using several layers, you could still see the redness/breakouts through the foundation. The foundation made my skin redder and dry but didn’t help clear my skin; it just irritated my skin more. I decided to give the foundation a second chance a few months later after my skin cleared up. I had some redness on my nose that I wanted to cover and didn’t need the fuller coverage of my regular foundation, so I decided to use this foundation since it is light coverage. It covered the redness on my nose well enough, so I continued to use it. I only put it on my nose. After using the foundation for several days in a row, I noticed that I was getting a lot of blackheads on my nose. I don’t usually have a problem with blackheads, so it was unusual. I knew it was the foundation that was causing the blackheads because I hadn’t changed any other aspect of my skincare and the only place I was getting blackheads was my nose (the only place where I’d put the foundation). The blackheads cleared up after I stopped using this foundation. Unfortunately, this foundation did nothing to help my acne. It actually made my skin worse. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because the color matched my skin well and it is usually difficult for me to find drugstore foundation that matches my pale skin. I’ve attached a photo of me wearing this foundation. You can still see the redness on my chin, even though I was wearing multiple layers.
This product is great for people who do not like liquid foundation. It is very light on skin, so you can apply as little or as much as needed. I recently had a reaction from a medical issue that cause my face to be super red. The product helped a lot but I noticed it caused a purple tint. I do have a bit of rosacea due to lack of protection from sun in my younger years. Overall I think this is a great product for the days I have flare up or when I feel like I need to even out the tone of skin on my face. Definitely recommend for people who aren't down with the liquid. I prefer the powder due to my facial routine having all liquid skin care. Very easy to apply and blends in great.erica.r

This product was given to me to try. It's in a beautiful slender glass bottle with a pump. I chose the shade, “Buff” (the 3rd shade in 14 shades series) because it has a bit of a yellow undertone to it. It went on a bit light but it actually blended nicely into my skin and matched my skin tone really well. This foundation contains salicylic acid to help those with acne prone skin and for those who have oily, combination skin like myself. I do breakout from time to time and currently have a couple of small breakouts at the moment. This foundation covered them up nicely without looking too heavy or cakey in appearance.The pump dispenses the right amount of product for your first layer. I liked applying this foundation with a stippling brush and then taking out the excess with a damp beauty blender. It dries down fairly quickly and I felt like I didn't really need to powder too much. It has a lighter coverage. It's perfect for an everyday foundation. It's certainly buildable but I would say it would only build up to a medium coverage. This oil-free formula is perfect for my combination, sensitive skin type where I’m quite oily around my T-zone and where I had some redness in my face, it covered it nicely. It doesn't carry much of a scent so that’s a plus.I tested this foundation on several occasions and had worn on each occasion for about 8-10 hours to work. To me it had a soft matte finish at first but as the day progressed it turned into a more satiny finish (some dewiness to it). Definitely felt nice and comfortable to wear throughout the day. It felt like my makeup stayed put. I did get oily and shiny around the nose area. I didn't apply too much setting powder (translucent powder) because on a day that I did, the powder started to crease around my eye area and made me look cakey. I would just do a light dusting around the T-zone only. It wore really well after an hour at the gym. It didn't really budge much at all and I worked up quite a sweat doing cardio and strength training.All and all I love this foundation and out of all the foundations I have ever tried in my life, this one is at the top of my list. I absolutely love it so much!!! It's very light weight like I don't feel like I'm wearing anything too heavy. It's breathable and comfortable. It doesn't feel tight for being an oil-free formula. Overall perfect everyday foundation and especially in summer heat and humidity. I wouldn't recommend it in the fall or winter when it's colder and the air is drier. This foundation is awesome. Here is the key to full coverage for girls with pigmentation issues- Apply clear complexion concealer first with do foot application gentle tap into skin with finger. Let it dry. Put 5 drops of clear complexion foundation on foundation brush to each side of face just tap on until blended do not buff. Then if you still have some uglies peeping through simply put a little more concealer and tap on. I had a bad reaction to younique makeup (don't know why I strayed from Almay) this foundation concealer healed it in ONE DAY. I will never stray again. So natural and pretty for us acne prone gals without looking like a cake face: I do not finish with clear complexion powder I finish with almay pressed powder because it adds a little More coverage and I think using the clear complexion powder is overkill with salacylic acid ( although may work for some) I buy the darker shade in pressed powder to contour with: .: thank you almay for making makeup for girls who breakout from everything under the sun!!!!! I have used this foundation for years. My daughters have also been using it with great results. We loved everything about it, coverage, shade, blended perfectly, improved acne, etc. I was so bummed to see that the formula has changed (bottle with the green design). The shade that I have always bought no longer matches my skin, it is thicker & gross feeling, it does not blend well, and looks terrible on my face. My daughters tried it also and both agreed it was horrible. I don’t understand why this company would change something that was already perfect? Did they even have anyone test this before making this big change? I wish there was a way to still buy the old formula. This was MY foundation. I've used this foundation for 10+ years. I even used it before they even had the color porcelain formulated. Once they formulated porcelain I was so happy because it was light and fair enough for my skin. However, the new porcelain color is a good 3 shades deeper and ORANGE. The undertone is so unbelievably orange. I don't understand how that is considered porcelain. I bought 2 bottles thinking they were the same color, hopefully I can get a refund. Like other reviews I am SO disappointed by the new formula. The new one settles into fine lines a magnifies pores (I always moisturize and use primer). The new one seems a little thicker and a tad chalky. I went from looking radiant (old formula) to aged (new formula). I love this compact. It has a creamy texture and provides great coverage without looking cakey, or dry looking. I've noticed though, if you are extremely oily this may not be the best compact to use. I have acne, but I'm only slightly oily. After a couple hours I get a little bit more shiny on my nose than I'm use to. So I would recommend the super double powder foundation if your really oily, that works great and provides comparable coverage. For me, I don't mind the lack of oil control. How ever I am using Fair, the lightest shade, and its too dark! In the liquid foundation I use alabaster, which is the lightest. There is no matching powder. I hope more lighter shades are made soon because I love how this compact feels.srad
I have been faithful (minus a few stray product tries here and there) of clinique powder compacts for years. I've been on the mild side of combination skin for years. My skin has been my prize with not a lot of fuss needed. Then I got off the pill (to try for our first baby) and my skin went crazy. Oily skin that I had never had before! What seems like overnight, none of my current products can combat this new oily skin of mine. After a frustration purchase at the drug store, I took myself to the lovely ladies at the counter for help. After re adjusting my skin care and sending me off with new moisturizer samples, I was sent home with this new compact. I don't really have an acne problem but this makeup really helps with the oiliness, I am pleased with the finish. Here is the downside…. I'm a fair skinned, typically second to lightest shade gal, and the lightest shade in this makeup is dark and oddly rosy. This make me sad because the product is wonderful. I absolutely love this product! It is really my holy grail for foundation. I went to both Clinique counters in my mall to purchase this product only to find out that it's being discontinued. Oh my goodness, I could have cried on the spot! I have combo oily skin in spring and summer and combo dry in fall and winter. This is the only product that works well with my skin in both winter and summer. In a mad dash to find a replacement at both Clinique and others, I find myself extremely unhappy and frustrated! Nothing comes close to comparing! This provides a perfect color match (fair skin), best coverage, is buildable without looking cakey, provides wonderful oil control for more than just a couple hours (without touch up) and I don't worry about having a breakout or any skin issues! Claims: Improves skin texture – I dont know if I would necessarily say it improves texture but it doesn't emphasize or cause my skin to look more texture than it is. Reduce look of pores – I actually think this is pretty accurate. I didnt find that my skin looked like I had visible pores, TAKE THAT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT I tend to only have noticble pores around my nose and on my nose. And my pores are not pronounced. Reduce visible redness – I would expect that of literally any foundation. I think this claim is kind of a no duh kind of statement. I wouldn't expect a foundation to NOT reduce visible redness, so I dont get the idea that this is revolutionary. Application: They recommend finger application, which i tend to hate but only because I don't like using my fingers to apply any product. If using a brush make sure your brush is clean and go over with tapping motions or you will see streaks. My preferred method is the sponge, the coverage goes down, but the finish is honestly incomparable. Coverage: Medium coverage (dosagree) I think this is a more light coverage foundation at best, especially if you use a sponge (which honestly looks the best on the skin). Its buildable though and you can mix this with other foundations to get a fuller coverage. WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU This foundation plays EXTREMELY well with others, meaning, I had no issue cocktailing and mixing foundations and other products to make this an even more enjoyable experience for myself. I tried this foundation out for a (small, socially distanced) gathering with friends this weekend and I do really like it! I mixed it with a bit of tinted moisturizer and primer and it blended really well with a beautyblender. It applied about medium coverage and could be built up to more full coverage. I did need a little concealer under my eyes to cover dark circles, but I'm not totally surprised as this is not billed as a full coverage foundation. I set this with Laura Mercier powder and applied the rest of my makeup. I wore it for 8-10 hours total and by the time I took it off, it was still in really great shape on most of my face. The only problem areas were my undereyes and my nose. My undereyes were noticeably creased, but I can't blame that entirely on the foundation as I used concealer too. I wore a mask to the gathering and I was blowing my nose a lot due to allergies, and the foundation was mostly rubbed off my nose by the end of the night BUT it did so in a way that didn't look awkward or obvious, it just kind of faded from no foundation to foundation which was nice. I would definitely use this again but I'm not sure I'd repurchase it. The coverage was nice and the wear time was very good. The color match is almost perfect which was impressive, it's just a bit lighter in color than I'd typically use. I don't love that this rubbed off my nose so much and I do think the mineral texture made this a little drier and cakier than I'm really comfortable with. If you can zoom in on the picture, you'll see lots of visible pores around my cheeks and nose and cakiness around my forehead and chin. I'll continue to cocktail this with my other favorites to finish off the bottle, but I already have other foundation favorites that I prefer to this one.vamp3133
It took some trial and error to learn how to best apply this but now that I have I’m really enjoying this foundation. It’s lightweight yet gives enough coverage to cover any redness and even out skin tone. It’s definitely more of a light to medium coverage foundation which I prefer. I have combination skin that leans more dry in the winter and oily in the summer. Right now my skin is on the drier side due to the cold winter weather. When I first applied this with a beauty blender which is my go to application method I did not like it. It clung to the dry patches on my skin and just looked really patchy. I tried it with a brush which was a little bit better but still kind of patchy. I found the best way to apply is with your fingers. When doing it this way it gives a beautiful smooth finish. I normally don’t like to apply with my fingers because it’s messy but it’s a must with this foundation. It comes out very thin almost watery so make sure you apply it quickly once it’s on your face. It’s important that you hydrate well and use primer when applying this foundation. I received the shade light beige 09 and when I first saw it in the bottle I didn’t think it would match because it looked a little on the orange side but once I applied it I found that it actually matched pretty well. I have light skin with neutral undertones that lean more on the cool side. I really enjoyed the pump and that you were able to close it which makes it easy and convenient for traveling. I also loved the ingredients and that it’s paraben free, silicone free, and chemical sunscreen free. It’s also cruelty free which is extremely important to me when purchasing beauty products. Upon first applying this foundation the color match seemed completely off. The formula itself is a watery texture which is to be expected from a serum foundation. I found that it blended in best with either a wet or dry beauty blender and also offered the most coverage rather than with a brush. Once blended in the shade match was spot on. Beacause this is a skincate/makeup product the finish is very dewy so if you have oily/combo skin setting is a must. After setting and applying the rest of my makeup I was left with a beautiful glowy/dewy look to the skin. This is not a long lasting foundation. After about 4 hours the foundation started to fade and breakdown on my t-zone where I get the most oils. Overall though I really enjoyed the look it gave me. Its perfect for those no makeup makeup days. I also suggest using a basic translucent powder for touch ups as it had potential to become cakey.Ariley92139
This is my go to foundation! I have combo acne prone skin and this is the only foundation that has worked wonders for me. It’s also the only foundation that is literally my perfect shade. It’s so light weight and looks natural. Because I have combo skin and it is a serum foundation, SET IT WITH A POWDER!! My oils do come out after 5 or so hours or sooner depending on the heat BUT it has yet to transfer much! I like it when my oils start coming through because I look “naturally” glowy! I have had so many compliments when I wear this foundation! I hate heavy coverage foundation so this one is perfect. It won’t cover a lot of redness but it will make your skin look healthier and more evened out! I have NEVER had a perfect foundation until I found this one. I bought it back in early June on a whim and it’s been the only one I’ve used since. I took it to a trip to sunny and hot LA and it stayed all day! This Healthy Skin Serum Foundation For Sensitive Skin by Neutrogena has me giddy again for this brand. I use to really dig Neutrogena way back but didn't like all the harsh chemicals in their products so we kinda split ways. However, getting the opportunity to test & try this foundation out has me happily flirting again with the brand. Packed with Vitamin B & other ingredients like Pathenol (skin-soothing) this sheer but EASILY buildable coverage is blends like a dream. It is a liquid serum that feels hydrating while creating a glowy glass-like canvas. Powder can bring down the glow if you like a matte finish. I was totally surprised by the results & how much I love this stuff. I got N4921-N00 A.K.A Medium 03 & it matched good for me at the time of this review. It is so refreshing when a product lives up to all its promises. I do have a love/hate relationship with the dropper though hence the 4 stars. But, DEFINITELY a must have foundation for me now & at 15 bucks, SUPA SCORE!JenniO3
