I spent hours looking for a modem/router combination that would cover the square footage of my new apartment, be Xfinity compatible, and feature rich. The choices weren't great and I normally just rent the modem but I needed to terminate service and start over recently so I decided to stop paying $14 month renting. This modem/router has a small footprint but should run up to 20 devices. Save yourself some grief and follow the NetGear activation instructions rather than reaching out to the ISP. My installation failed at first because I wasn't registered with NetGear even though everything looked good on Xfinity's side. So far things are working well. I have all my devices including WFH working without hard-wiring with an Ethernet cable. In the past, everything I purchased from NetGear was an expensive disappointment. I got this modem/router for the apartment I’m currently living at. The apartment is just about 1000 sq. ft and is 2 stories. Between my roommates and myself, there are up to 10 devices in use at any given time. We have not had any issues whatsoever with having a strong internet connection anywhere in the apartment even though the router is located in a corner of the building. It was incredibly simple to set up using the nighthawk app. I highly recommend this modem/router for anyone living in a smaller house or apartment who wants to feel confident about their ability to stay connected.Keiran M

Recently purchased this as an open box unit and so far seems to be working fine. We had a very similar modem / router that must have been its predecessor with one in between and the one that was similar to this worked excellent until we knocked it over and it smashed and it didn't work anymore. So hopefully this one will not have that happen. Netgear makes really good routers and the one that we had in between was given to us and it was actually a more expensive model with the two antennas and cable company was doing an upgrade in the area and as far as we are concerned, they fried it. Could never get it to reboot after they did whatever they did. I prefer to own my own equipment than to give them money to rent it each month and on a modem like this, wherever you buy it, it would be yours and once you pay for it there's no monthly gateway charges.JRB Tennessee

It was time to upgrade my outdated wireless router, so I head to my local big box retailer. To my surprise, I found the Netgear R6260 on sale at an amazingly low price considering it’s performance specs compared to other routers with similar specs and even some with less performance. I get home and got everything ready to install my new R6260 wireless router. I first downloaded the Nighthawk App per the instructions and continued to follow the in-app instructions. Within about 10-15 minutes, I had downloaded the app, connected the router to my modem, customized my network and was up and running. I was blown away at the ease of installation, customizable features, and awesome performance throughout all of my devices. I would highly recommend this or any similar Netgear product without hesitation.Danny

We bought this router because we had a Netgear N150, which performed well for the past 6 years. However, since we recently upgraded our internet speed to 400 mbps, we need a faster router. This one advertise a speed of 1600 mbps. It's a joke. I could barely get 50 mbps standing right next to the router. The worst part is, it disconnects every 30 minutes. For the few days we had it, I got disconnected from meetings give times and my son got disconnect from school and had to retake his midterm. We spend hours calling Specturm and doing research online trying to figure our what the problem is. We initially thought it was the modem, but after connecting our old N150 back, everything went back to normal. No more disconnections. We then purchased a TP-Link Archer A7, and it was spectacular. It is superfast and no more disconnections. Conclusion: This Netgear router is piece of junk, it's worst then my 6 year old N150, and it's even compare to the TP-Link Archer A7. We were lucky that we were able to return it, but we got a lot of headache and wasted a lot of time on it.Hi

This is the best mesh point system that I have bought. We have Xfinity internet and our router can’t give the whole house internet as we have a big house. This 3 google nest mesh point system delivers to the whole house without dead spots and switches out device’s to the closest point. I have used netgear and I would always be connected to whatever point connected to my phone when I would get home and it would stay connected to that point until I was out of range. With the Google mesh points, the router points know basically where your device is and switches automatically so you have the best internet connection with fast speeds and no interruptions. Where the netgear I had several problems with being connected and not having good speeds and or even having connection but no internet. I’m very impressed with Google and there technology on this product. Recently moved from a small one-bedroom apartment into a house, so the drop in WiFi signal from one end of the house to the other was surprising. Our internet speeds are 200 Mbps down/ 10 Mbps up and we receive that while in the room with the router. Moving to the other end of the home where we sleep and that signal would drop to around 30 mbps down and 8 Mbps up. After purchasing this kit, the router is still on one side of the home, we have one access point in the middle of the home in our library and another in the primary bedroom and we maintain the 200 Mbps down / 10 Mbps pretty much everywhere in and around the home. We're already a decently heavy Google household so the fact that the access points double as voice assistants is pretty handy as well. The largest con to the Nest Wifi router is the fact that it only has one ethernet port. This is fine, because an 8 port Gigabit Ethernet switch is like $25 at most. But I can see how people who aren't necessarily tech-savvy have no idea what a network switch even is. The other con is the lack of choosing what WiFi network to connect to (whether it be 5 Ghz or 2.4 GHz). For the most part, the automation works well, but there are a few times where my partners desktop will only connect to 2.4 Ghz and it leaves her with a slightly slower connection. Overall kinda minor, as it quickly adjusts, but still an inconvenience. With that being said, I still think this Mesh Router from Nest is the go-to option for those who are already a Google household. So far, the issues presented are minor at best, but I would highly recommend picking up a network switch with this router to ensure you have enough Ethernet ports available.Matt

We were looking to extend our gigabit wifi coverage and already owned the previous generation Google Wifi mesh extenders, so I figured upgrading to the Google Nest Wifi made sense as the old version had served us well. These newer ones perform as advertised: stronger coverage over a wider area thanks to the updated hardware in the current units! We upgraded to whole home security cameras, so I wanted to ensure we didn’t see any dropouts or higher battery drain due to poor wireless speed/strength, and so far I’m happy to report they are working out great. A big positive for me was the hardware microphone mute for these units. Honestly I would have preferred being able to buy these without the built-in microphone/voice assistance feature just out of privacy concerns, but being able to disable it manually on the hardware itself and see the LEDs on the bottom of the points change to Orange/Red to show the mic is disabled once you flip the switch is handy. The biggest negative I have for these was that the setup was not flawless, and even required me to reach out to support as it wasn’t anything that could be fixed through standard troubleshooting like power cycling or doing a factory reset and redoing the network setup from scratch. The other issue I had was trying to add my old google wifi units as access points since their documentation notes the old ones could still be used as long as you didn’t try to exceed their recommended “limit” of having no more than 5 access points connected to a single router. After factory resetting the older units and trying to add them to the mesh network, I noticed considerable issues with signal degradation as it seemed like it was actually introducing interference rather than boosting signal coverage in other areas of the house. The new Google Home app that lets you control/monitor your network is pretty good overall as well, aside from returning a lot of “Unnamed Device” names for the hardware found on our network – I don’t recall the old “Google Wifi” app having the same issue. Slight negatives aside, I am still quite pleased with the newer Google Nest Wifi mesh router and access points – the speeds are solid, they transmit fairly well throughout the walls and home in general, and aside from the initial setup hiccups, they’ve been performing flawlessly ever since. Overall, I’d highly recommend the Nest Mesh router/points system and since the rating system doesn’t allow it, I’d note that if possible I’d give this one 4.5 stars out of 5.Matt

It definitely meshed, but the satellite didn't like being connected to devices closest to it (defeating the point of mesh), and the app constantly failed when trying to change settings or check the status. I finally got tired of it enough, did some more research, and grabbed the eero 6+ and have loved it since we got it. Installation was incredibly easy and the app experience is stellar. My two favorite things so far are that you can rename devices in the app to help explain those devices with random, unhelpful names to keep track of them. Additionally, my satellite in the upstairs office is actually connecting to the devices that are upstairs! This (for me) means my house devices are actually split about 50/50 and feels like I'm getting actual benefits out of the satellite. Highly recommend!Greg

If you’re on your phone then (my iPhone) won’t even disconnect WiFi and go to data as it’ll just keep trying WiFi since the router is still on and giving a signal but is off/restarting itself. Sure, it only takes about 1-10 minutes at 1-4am, sure. Not bad. But it’s so annoying and a continuous thing. I am never recommending these to anyone that uses internet after midnight. my router finally died on me after many years. I was very satisfied with it. When I went to Best Buy to look for a replacement I spoke to a Best Buy associate about models I was comparing. When I talked to him about signal strength and placement he told me I should consider the eero. He was absolutely correct. The signal strength I am now getting is even. The thing I love about the eero is the fact that if I need to I can move one of the the two modules anywhere I feel I need a stronger signal. But so far I havent had to do that. I have added more wifi enabled devices to the network with no problem. It has been great not having a big clunky out of place looking router be replace by an almost unnoticeable one. I am continuing my research about this system as I know their will be future enhancements made to make this system even better. For now I am totally Impressed.darrenduke

This was used to replace my mother's ten year old Netgear wireless N300 router that finally died a couple weeks ago. Unsurprisingly this is a far superior product. The whole setup process was about as close to plug and play as you're going to get for this type of device. The instructions and finding/downloading the TP-Link Tether app from the Google Play store were easy to use and and understand. They we're easy to use and walked me through all the steps. The apps user interface was pretty self-explanatory and very easy to get around in and understand also. So even though this was my first experience with a TP-Link product the total setup time was only around 30 minutes from start to finish and I ran into zero problems during the whole process. When I finished I decided to compare how strong the signal was before and after. So originally she couldn't get reception from the old router on the far side of her house. However after checking this Tp-link Archer C2300 by going to the same area that used to be a dead spot, her phone can connect to the network and it registers the signal quality as "fair”. It's not the best signal quality but much better than before. I'm very pleased with it's ease of setup, easy to use and understand app and the overall quality and appearance of this product. I'd also recommend this as a great product to pretty much everyone I know.VegasInJason

For the money, this midrange gigabit router delivers a lot and has good 5-GHz performance. TL;DR If you don’t have lofty goals for your home network—the USB-A 2.0 ports on the back aren’t the best for sharing media and its overall performance isn’t good enough for folks with heavy bandwidth demands—and just need a reliable router, the Archer C7 AC1750 is the best you can buy at this price. There’s only two people in our household, eight devices (two laptops, one desktop computer, two phones, a tablet, as well as one printer and a Nest thermostat) and we have pretty average needs when it comes to WiFi performance (Zoom, Netflix, and web browsing on Comcast Xfinity’s 50 Mbps plan). After reading a ton of reviews (it was on many “Top Routers for 2018 lists” and was the most affordable one) of which routers would work best with Xfinity and our NetGear CM400 modem, I decided this one had the best value for what we needed. (P.S. It currently has 49,662 4.5 star reviews on Amazon). The good: Setup is quick and easy, its performance on the 5-GHz band is good for its price (ideal for streaming 4K), it has two USB ports for connecting peripherals (eg, create a media server to easily share your USB drive content), 4 Gigabit LAN ports with quick access to multiple connected wired devices (would work great as a gaming router), there’s an on/off switch for wireless transmissions (essentially turning it into a wired router for when you go on vacation and want it to stop broadcasting), it includes parental controls, and the Tether app is great. Also, you can generate a QR code from the router’s admin page, print the code, and put it somewhere easily accessible so that when you have guests over, they can easily connect to the internet by just scanning the code. I’ve had the router for over a month now and have yet to experience any dropped signals. The not-so-good: If you plan on connecting peripherals that require faster data speeds, this router uses the older and slower 2.0 spec, the performance on the 2.4-GHz band is lacking, it doesn’t include automatic firmware updates, and doesn’t have MU-MIMO for efficiently managing network traffic. Also, it lacks Amazon Alexa comparability (this wasn’t a problem for us, but if you want Alexa compatibility, get the nearly-identical Archer A7 AC1750). TP Link AC 2300 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router — Archer C2300 I’ve had to use several routers to have connectivity in my houses over the past 20 years and I’m pretty good at setting them up to work with my internet connections. I recently moved from a home that had a metal roof and was on a slab so getting a good signal was difficult but we had 100+ mbps speed. I moved 5 months ago and all we are able to get in my rural town in Maine is DSL with a max speed of 25mg. The router is a dual band 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz which is overkill for my data speed, but Maine is trying to provide fiber optic speeds in many rural communities in the near future. There are many features I like with this modem. First it has 4 gigabyte Ethernet ports which means I can run lines to laptops, desktop computer and smart TV without losing speed using the wireless connection. There is also the WAN port that goes directly from your modem into the router. We are a couple of seniors, but rely heavily on our electronics. Not only do we have 2 desktops, 3 laptops, 2 iPhones, 2 Kindle tablets, iPad, and Samsung Galaxy but we stream videos from Netflix, Prime, and STARZ. All of these need to be connected through a router or wirelessly. This TP Link router has the ability to use something called “beamforming” to send the WiFi signal to the device that needs it for a stronger signal. I don’t profess to know what all the technical stuff means or does. I just want to be able to plug in the product, connect the wires, and have everything work. I get easily frustrated when things don’t work as expected and this was not the case with this particular router (yay). Anti virus and parental controls that you set up are included as well as a guest network for when people come to visit … they can log into an “open” connection with an easier password that you create and it will not interfere with your secure system for all of your home computers, protecting your data from being taken off your computer. The router has 3 external antennas that you can bend and point in different directions for the best signal. There is also an internal antenna which all has to do with getting the best signal strength in which to get online. I didn’t have any trouble setting the router up because it has some sort of “smart connect” that scopes out your available devices and lists them for you to connect to. As usual the most difficult thing was reading and tiny serial number under the router. I have used several brands of routers over the years and one of my chief complaints is having to pay for tech support after the warranty is up. I’m not able to judge their customer service or tech support because it was a breeze to get it up and running. One of the pluses for this specific router is the gold label on the front that says TP Link wireless router was rated #1 in customer service in 2019 by JD Power (a big, recognized name in the field). So far I’m impressed. I look forward to when fiber optic lines come to my town so I can take advantage of the blazing speeds! Until then I’m happy that I have a consistent signal that doesn’t drop and I’m not rebooting my modem / router several times a week because if dropped signal!ILuvSebago

So this review covers the packaging of the product, what the product does, how it does it and suitability for home applications. Packaging is okay. It would be good or average but for some reason the opted to cover each of the 6 antenna's with a plastic sheath that does not just pull off. If you have an older wireless router or live in a large house or apartment or one with a lot of walls then this is the product for you. While it's not a mesh network if you locate this centrally in most houses or apartments you will get good coverage all over your space. I have a detached garage where we live and I got coverage out there from it. It comes with both a phone and a web app which is nice. As with most other products the web app does a lot more. It has good security with password printed on both the unit and on a pressure sensitive label. Also comes with WPS for your devices. Like most products nowadays it comes with a "quick start" guide and you go online for the meat and potatoes of instructions. The quick start is adequate. How it does it. Comes with a WAN port plus 4 ethernet ports. The WAN port you would use for your cable modem in most cases or ethernet depending on how you get your signal. Has external power supply and 5 control buttons, power, LED (to turn the LED indicators on front on or off), WPS for security, WIFI to turn wifi off in case you want to use it as a 4 port dumb switch, and a reset button you use a paper clip with. It does have a single USB 3.0 port that you could hang a hard drive or thumb drive off to share photos, movies, files, etc. If you have an older wifi router you are going to notice a big positive difference with this unit. bought this router because my other one was old and dropping signals. got a new modem and new wiring in my house. at first i was just using 5g but have to use 2g for older things like ps3. this is where problems started. my ps3 would sign out and then sign in constantly. i had to enable dmz for each console and that sort of seemed to help but still was getting dropped from servers. 5g is more stable, at first i wasnt having any disconnections. and now im getting sometimes 3 in a row. itll be stable for maybe 2 hours then drop. i bought a internet connection monitor. it also seems when i start to download files or even pull any sort of data like go to a webpage after being idle for a while it will drop connection. the router is right in front of me. hardwiring didnt help my gaming on 2g. going to return it. ive had it with so many routers being sold that drop signals. its to common of a issue nowadays. if i wasnt gaming and didnt need a stable connection then this router would be ok. but there is times i cant afford a 5-30 second dropthomas

I recently received the Archer AX4400 Dual Band WiFi 6 Router. I have to say I know very little about routers of any kind, but I definitely needed faster WiFi at home so I thought I’d try it out. The 4400 means it adds 4400 megabytes per second (warp speed) which allows for faster browsing, downloading, and streaming. It has six antennas and “beamforming” capability to provide broad coverage wherever you are. The USB 3.0 port makes media sharing and individual cloud making very easy. This router provides cutting edge security services that keep your home network safe with strong features for network protection. It allows for extensive WiFi coverage. It will connect up to 200+ devices (I don’t know why anyone would have this many devices but it’s good to know it’s there if I need it) and this Wi-Fi technology brings faster speeds, less “hesitation”, and bigger capacity, which allows for more connections at the same time on your home network. Installation was more complicated for me because I’m not computer savvy so it was hit or miss there for a while but I have no doubt that anyone with more computer savvy would not have problem installing. I noticed an increased speed quickly and would recommend the Archer AX4400 Dual Band WiFi 6 Router to anyone who needs greater speed, better coverage, and safer internet travels.Pamela

A lot of reviewers have complained about the fact the OnHub only has one Ethernet LAN jack. I really don't have an issue with that. Many users already own an Ethernet switch, or an existing 4-port router in their home or office that could be pressed into service. So simply run a patch cable from the OnHub's Ethernet out jack to a LAN switch located in an out of the way location, or inside a cabinet where all the wires are all kept out-of-site. The 4-ports provided on most routers are too few to be of much use anyways. I have a 16-port gigabit switch located in my den, where it and its connected wiring spaghetti are all kept mostly out-of-sight. I think that Google is on the right track here. I was able to place the OnHub out in the open in my family room, where it was closer to where we actually use our portable WIFI devices and provides better overall WIFI reception. As an EggExpert I have tested a lot of high-end AC routers in the past few years and the OnHub has so far provided the fastest, strongest, most consistent WIFI-AC connections to our various laptops, tablets and smart phones, as compared to any other router I have tested to-date. I ran the OnHub concurrently with another $200 WIFI-AC router. When I pull into my driveway after work, my Android phone automatically seeks out and connects to the stronger OnHub WIFI signal. My wife has noticed that her Android based Nexus-7 tablet now has a more stable Internet connection via the OnHub. Our previous AC router would cause the signal strength indicator to continually rise and fall and constantly drop connections to her tablet. The OnHub feels more like being connected to a hard-wired Ethernet connection than it does to WIFI. The OnHub automatically optimizes and determines the best frequency band and channel to use for a given WIFI device connected to it . If you are a power-user, I guarantee that you will be totally frustrated with the OnHub's lack of an onboard web site and the associated myriad of settings, that you would normally be able to tweak via your desktop or laptop browser. I subtracted another half an egg for this missing feature. Hopefully Google will add a built-in web site at a future date. Also if you don't have access to an Android or Mac smart phone you should take a pass on buying an OnHub. On the other-hand if you are a new-user, a technophobe, or Mac user, I can highly recommend the Google OnHub for its setup simplicity, fast WIFI connections and ease-of-use. If you are interested in using the USB 3.0 port for NAS storage, or the ZigBee home automation, or the Smart Bluetooth features, I would hold-off purchasing an OnHub until after Google activates these and other promised future software features. Highly recommended; provided the reader is aware of the device's current feature limitations.William W.

I setup the 3 units that I purchased to make a mesh network. The firmware version was so old on these units (probably been in the warehouse for a few years), that the Google Wifi App didn't quite work per the instructions when trying to setup a mesh with them. The Google Help line spent a lot of time with me, but ultimately didn't figure it out. But I did, as I sat there waiting for them and searching around other posts online. No one provided clear steps on how to fix it, but here's what I ultimately did to get everything meshed and working. 1. Plug one unit in, and follow the instructions to set it up as your Primary. The phone app will get stuck on the Updating Software screen. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes (an hour would be better). The update must be huge. Eventually exit the setup on your phone app, and start it again. If the update completed, it should skip over the software update process pretty quickly this time and get you to the part where you name your network. Everything should work fine for that unit from that point forward. 2. For the next unit that you want to mesh, the problem is that the phone app will keep getting stuck on the same screen telling you not to mesh these units. If you go to their website instructions, the alternative method ends up in the same place every time. The problem is the old firmware. So you first have to update the software by following Step 1 above (like you're setting it up as a primary). However here is the trick, it needs a WAN (modem) connection to access the internet for the update. So I do recommend having a small ethernet switch that you can plug into the 2nd port on your real primary unit, and then plug the unit you're setting up into the switch to get its internet access for the update. 3. So follow Step 1 on your 2nd unit to set it up as a primary just so you can load the update. When you finally get to the screen that asks you to name your primary, exit the setup. You can power it off and unplug the cable from the WAN port. 4. Now you can plug the power back into your 2nd unit, and use these steps to add it to your "meshed" network from the phone app: Touch the top menu item with the 4 dots; touch the "Network & General" option under Settings; Touch "Wifi points"; touch the "Add Wifi Point" button; follow the steps to add it to your meshed network. 5. Setup additional units to your mesh just like you did the 2nd unit. Make sure you have time to spend a few hours on this project, but the end result is pretty cool. I have my primary unit in my office next to my modem. It has a switch plugged in so that I can plug in my desktop, printer, laptop, etc. I have a 2nd meshed unit sitting on my TV unit also with a switch attached to plug in directly to any devices I have there. I have a 3rd unit plugged in our front bedroom to extend my range towards the front of the house. All the units are called blue, but it's a really dark blue that looks black most of the time. They have subtle blue light at the top, and I found you can dim or turn off using the phone app (great for the one in the bedroom). All my speed tests are maximizing my cable connection. So far I'm very happy with this setup, and this network is compatible with the Google Wifi hockey pucks should I want to expand the network (it all uses the same phone app).Philip G.

The onhub is one nifty router. The packaging was very nice and all of the cables were neatly rolled off on the bottom. Setting up the router was a breeze. I simply had to twist off the outer shell, connect the ethernet cord to my modem, and retwist on the outer shell. Upon downloading the app (It's called Google On in case you're searching for it in the Apple Store), it will help you sync to the onhub and set everything up including wireless network name and password. The app is available for both Android and iOS and you do need to have the app to manage and set up your onhub. The onhub router itself looks really nice. It has a sleek feel to it and comes across as being high-end. The cables are under the outer shell and allows for a cleaner look. The only drawback is that there is only one ethernet slot to plug something into, but I guess the assumption is that future devices would all connect to the onhub wirelessly, so there really is no need for any additional hard-line plug ins. There are some basic speakers with the onhub which allows for it to make some noise during setup, but other than that, there really is no need for the speaker / sound feature on the onhub. As a router, it works very well. I've found the range to be sufficiently strong to reach my entire house (as compared to my older router from 3+ years ago requiring extenders). To date, I've connected several devices to the onhub (2 printers, 2 PCs, 2 laptops, 2 phones, 1 tablet, 1 scale, 1 wireless camera etc…) and what's nice is that it allows for the automated prioritization of the devices in terms of granting the devices that require more bandwidth better access. All said, the onhub looks great, is easy to set up, has great signal strength, and will theoretically automatically update as Google releases additional features. Do know that you'll still need a modem (it's not an all in one), so it does require some additional wires / devices connected to it to be functional. Up Front: This is easy to install, the instructions are clear, the WEB interface is intuitive and clear, the signal is strong, and the software / firmware works. I want to give this a very strong review because I had purchased a competing product (Netgear) with the same model number and the approximate same price. After 4 hours I could not get it to work. Thankfully, Home Essentials Direct allowed me to return it. This unit from TP-Link was the opposite experience. I had it set up in 15 minutes from opening the box to having a full network operational. All of my computers and Rokus worked fine, immediately. My cell phone works with it. My printer works with it. The firmware update was easy and seamless, and was done after the network was set up. The setup screen (WEB interface) is simple and intuitive. The security is much better than older units, as technology continues to improve. The signal strength is also improved, as I have a strong signal everywhere in my home (about 2,500 square feet and 2 stories). I SUSPECT that the Netgear unit failed because my Internet modem has the same IP address as the router. So, the two interfered and the Netgear setup could not be selected. What is nice about the TP-Link was that it detected the conflict and automatically changed its IP address (I got the information message to that effect). HIghly recommended.2.

Big improvement over the Spectrum provided POS I was using. Now get full house coverage and no drop offs. Not only was range extended but hard wired connections are also faster. I was excited about the features for the price point. Buuuuuuuut. You get what you pay for! I was expecting to much. I have a complicated setup at home. I.e. multiple smart home devises. Several mobile devises and I need a DLNA (home media hub) USB system too. I wasn’t even expecting super fast speeds cause of everything I was asking it to do. Buuuuuuut, again, this is what this router was claiming to do. So I bought it. MY MISTAKE! After having it for 36 hours, it failed at doing everything reliably! Except for the one Ethernet wired device I had. A Philips HUE hub. Everything else failed. Even the wireless radios would bog down to 2 megabits a second. Both the 2.4g and 5g channels! It’s going back, soon! But, again, if you have a small amount of expectations and equipment, then I think it will be ok. NOTE: I bought the Linksys WRT3200AC to replace this…….. and WOW! This is the best purchase ever. The default NBN modem/routers that come from your provider are very bad. But you can use them as modem only (as a bridge) and pait it with this fantastic and superfast Ax10 Wifi router. I have seen my speed go up spectacularly and the connections are way more stable! The one thing a hate is that it has to connect to a top level domain server every 30sec. Its to check to see it your internet is still up and running. A heat beat. The Eero 6+ AX-3000 is a 3 pack, dual band mesh wifi 6 system that is easy to set up, fast, and provides excellent range capable of handling at least a 3000 square foot house. Set up and control of the system is done entirely through an app downloaded to your Iphone or Android phone. In my case, it was an Iphone. Set up allows you to keep the SSID and password from your previous network which had been a Velop tri band mesh system. I found this tremendously helpful since all of the 25 or so devices that I have immediately recognized the new network without additional configuration. The first of the 3 pack devices is connected to your cable modem, etc. and is configured during the initial setup. The additional 2 devices can be configured during initial set up or any time later through the app. I ended up using only 2 of the 3 pack devices since the 3rd one would have been overkill for my 2200 square foot house unless I wanted to extend the network deep into the backyard or my neighbor’s yard. As I mention, I previously had a two pack, tri band Velop mesh system. This system had served me well for several years, however, I have recently acquired several wifi 6 devices and the Velop system was not wifi 6. I have about 25 devices on my system including 4 HDTVs which I constantly stream. In actual operation, the eero system felt very quick and no buffering occurred. Range was also excellent exceeding my previous Velop system. I have 1 gigabyte per second internet coming into the house. About 20 feet from the router and in the same room as the router, I was able to achieve about 900mbps on my laptop compared to about 750mbps with the previous Velop system. A story below the router and through 3 walls, I achieved around 250mbps compared to 200mbps with the previous system. I you are a heavy user of video or other data intensive devices and want a network that is easy to set up, fast, and with great range, I highly recommend the Eero 6+ AX3000.TheHodster

It might be silly but first impressions are important and the packaging for these was very robust with tight tolerances. Just what I would expect from something in this price range. My coverage area is quite large and extends to a detached barn where my wood working studio is located. Even with very high powered single unit devices I have trouble with coverage. Not with this system I have them spaced across my property such that I get great coverage everywhere that I need. It is sort of like cell phone towers where as you move around the system calculates which node will give you the best reception and will switch you seamlessly if you move or in the unlikely even that one drops offline. This is fast too giving gigabit speeds. This is done by communication between the units on another radio frequency as not to take up network resources. My internet is not that fast but I do a lot of internal file sharing and moving and really appreciate the speed this gives my local network. I checked with customer support and they said up to 3 more units can be added to the system presumably doubling the coverage area. eero 6+ works as a smart home hub so you can control supported Thread and Zigbee devices with Alexa. Use your eero 6+ with Alexa to control lights, locks, plugs, and more. I chatted into best buy and they said this is also compatible with google home. All in all this is one of the few products I would give an extra star to if I could. Installation was easy too.yogabear

80+ old house w lots of metal lathe/plaster so very difficult to get good WIFI 70 feet to living room TV. Had an AC1200 that was fair until Spectrum rearranged things during a service call. Anyway I connected Eero to my to my existing 5AC router and got an Excellent result. LR TV was at 35 now at 147! Maintained old router for 2.4/5 ghz for other uses as wanted Eero dedicated to LR TV. Would probably have bought TP-LINK Deco X60 V1 AX3000 if I had known Eero was trying to "require" a $99/yr subscription for what most router manufacturers for provide free. But I just kept swiping away the acceptance screens without filling in anything, bypassed the authorization pages and did not enter any payment information so hopefully that will be the end of that. Except that it probably voids my warranty as I did phone them for assistance at one point and they refused to help me unless I signed up for the $99 a year plan. I hate that mesh vendors require install via a cell phone. Mine is for emergencies not daily use so I am not real good with it. Zero stars. Do not buy. Made the mistake of thinking it might be better to get a cable modem and router in one, especially made the mistake of getting this Netgear C6250 pure garbage of a product. Wasted two hours of time, one hour with Xfinity tech support doing resets, then another hour with Netgear support with a tech support agent who had a noisy child and family in the background, finally for the agent to conclude after three reset attempts that this device is defective. Brand new out of a sealed box. Issue was a molasses slow download speed, this wasn’t an issue with the previous setup of a different (separate) modem and separate wifi router. I set up my NETGEAR AC1600 Cable Modem Router to replace my Xfinity rental router. I am not a “TechGeek”, and it only required a single cable and power cord swap out. Then a simple call to my internet provider and I was back online. From there it was easy to get my WiFi Thermostat and WiFi sprinkler system connected. I would highly recommend the NETGEAR AC1600 Cable Modem Router without hesitation. The equipment is great, but the setup for this device was kind of a horror show. The biggest problem was that the app you need to set it up (and referenced in the included documents) isn't actually compatible (per my conversation with their tech support), and made the whole installation process more aggravating than necessary. Thankfully, this wasn't my first rodeo, so I got it set up and working and honestly I really love not having to use separate devices for both modem and router. This is the best mesh point system that I have bought. We have Xfinity internet and our router can’t give the whole house internet as we have a big house. This 3 google nest mesh point system delivers to the whole house without dead spots and switches out device’s to the closest point. I have used netgear and I would always be connected to whatever point connected to my phone when I would get home and it would stay connected to that point until I was out of range. With the Google mesh points, the router points know basically where your device is and switches automatically so you have the best internet connection with fast speeds and no interruptions. Where the netgear I had several problems with being connected and not having good speeds and or even having connection but no internet. I’m very impressed with Google and there technology on this product. Recently moved from a small one-bedroom apartment into a house, so the drop in WiFi signal from one end of the house to the other was surprising. Our internet speeds are 200 Mbps down/ 10 Mbps up and we receive that while in the room with the router. Moving to the other end of the home where we sleep and that signal would drop to around 30 mbps down and 8 Mbps up. After purchasing this kit, the router is still on one side of the home, we have one access point in the middle of the home in our library and another in the primary bedroom and we maintain the 200 Mbps down / 10 Mbps pretty much everywhere in and around the home. We're already a decently heavy Google household so the fact that the access points double as voice assistants is pretty handy as well. The largest con to the Nest Wifi router is the fact that it only has one ethernet port. This is fine, because an 8 port Gigabit Ethernet switch is like $25 at most. But I can see how people who aren't necessarily tech-savvy have no idea what a network switch even is. The other con is the lack of choosing what WiFi network to connect to (whether it be 5 Ghz or 2.4 GHz). For the most part, the automation works well, but there are a few times where my partners desktop will only connect to 2.4 Ghz and it leaves her with a slightly slower connection. Overall kinda minor, as it quickly adjusts, but still an inconvenience. With that being said, I still think this Mesh Router from Nest is the go-to option for those who are already a Google household. So far, the issues presented are minor at best, but I would highly recommend picking up a network switch with this router to ensure you have enough Ethernet ports available.Matt

We were looking to extend our gigabit wifi coverage and already owned the previous generation Google Wifi mesh extenders, so I figured upgrading to the Google Nest Wifi made sense as the old version had served us well. These newer ones perform as advertised: stronger coverage over a wider area thanks to the updated hardware in the current units! We upgraded to whole home security cameras, so I wanted to ensure we didn’t see any dropouts or higher battery drain due to poor wireless speed/strength, and so far I’m happy to report they are working out great. A big positive for me was the hardware microphone mute for these units. Honestly I would have preferred being able to buy these without the built-in microphone/voice assistance feature just out of privacy concerns, but being able to disable it manually on the hardware itself and see the LEDs on the bottom of the points change to Orange/Red to show the mic is disabled once you flip the switch is handy. The biggest negative I have for these was that the setup was not flawless, and even required me to reach out to support as it wasn’t anything that could be fixed through standard troubleshooting like power cycling or doing a factory reset and redoing the network setup from scratch. The other issue I had was trying to add my old google wifi units as access points since their documentation notes the old ones could still be used as long as you didn’t try to exceed their recommended “limit” of having no more than 5 access points connected to a single router. After factory resetting the older units and trying to add them to the mesh network, I noticed considerable issues with signal degradation as it seemed like it was actually introducing interference rather than boosting signal coverage in other areas of the house. The new Google Home app that lets you control/monitor your network is pretty good overall as well, aside from returning a lot of “Unnamed Device” names for the hardware found on our network – I don’t recall the old “Google Wifi” app having the same issue. Slight negatives aside, I am still quite pleased with the newer Google Nest Wifi mesh router and access points – the speeds are solid, they transmit fairly well throughout the walls and home in general, and aside from the initial setup hiccups, they’ve been performing flawlessly ever since. Overall, I’d highly recommend the Nest Mesh router/points system and since the rating system doesn’t allow it, I’d note that if possible I’d give this one 4.5 stars out of 5.Matt

Living in a stone-built property, getting good wi-fi coverage was always a problem. I had tried several routers and found that none of them was really satisfactory – there were always areas where the signal was low. So, I was a little skeptical about these units, especially as they are significantly cheaper than other brands. Setup was very straightforward – I plugged the base into the WAN port of my current router and set up the base unit (via the Android app) to have the same wi-fi credentials as the router . I placed the node downstairs and it was picked up easily by the base unit. Having checked that all was well, I disabled the wi-fi on the router as it was no longer needed. I now have very good wi-fi coverage throughout the house, and have connected some equipment to the LAN ports on the back of the Tenda node and these work very well. For half the price I paid for a Netgear router (which didn't solve the problem) I now have wi-fi sorted (at last). I particularly like the fact that both 2.4 and 5GHz channels have the same name – this means than my phone and tablet (which both support both channels) will switch to whichever channel is strongest seamlessly. These small and unobtrusive units provide a very effective solution for not a lot of money. I purchased the 2 unit pack. I would thoroughly recommend these units to anyone with wi-fi coverage issues around the house. With just a little thought put to placement of the units, they will give results that belie the price.technorecycle2020

Pros: As a cheap and cheerful mesh network, it works great. It has a limited speed, but for our home which doesn’t get much more than 35mb/s it works fine and stretches the network around the entire home. The app is useful the see which devices are connected to which node, although once you realise the mesh network it working you tend to forget about this. Cons: The one downside to this product, which will hopefully be resolved is that randomly after a week of use one of the nodes has stopped connecting to the primary node. It shows a red LED but just doesn’t connect. The setup was confusing but this was partly down to EE (out ISP) not knowing how to setup a 3rd party mesh network… after ignoring their advice it ended up basically being plug and play.Josh

I received this mesh router system as an incentive to give my opinion by review. I originally rated this Deco mesh router at 4 stars. I am updating that to 3 stars due to issues with devices disconnecting frequently. I contribute this to the Deco software that automatically selects the routers 2GHz Wi-Fi channel based on other routers nearby and the channels those routers are broadcasting on. TP-Link has configured the Deco mesh routers to search for the clearest available 2 GHz channel based on it's softwares scans of nearby routers channel traffic. That is common among today's routers. But, there are two software issues that TP-Link incorporated into the Deco systems that other mesh router manufacturers have an advantage over. The first is that the Deco's 2 GHz Wi-Fi channel cannot be manually set by the consumer to remain on a constant frequency. The second is that while the Deco does select what it detects to be the clearest 2GHz channel, it tends to stray from the three best options for what has been determined are the only non-overlapping frequencies available, channels 1, 6 and 11. Because the Deco is constantly scanning for a better 2GHz Wi-Fi channel to broadcast it's signal from, there is a short disconnect between the router and your devices. Usually that disconnect is not noticed and the devices are able to function without issues. But coupled with the Deco choosing overlapping 2GHz frequencies to broadcast on, I believe creates enough instability to cause some devices running on the 2GHz channel to completely loose their Wi-Fi connection to the router. Even devices that may be placed close to the router or the satellite. There is a software option to allow certain devices to receive priority over others in signal distribution, but that doesn't eliminate the issue of device disconnection. If you have minimal devices connected to the router, that may stabilize your network. But I have over twenty devices connected, although not all are running at the same time. I have spoken with tech support and they have no plans to change their software to allow for either of these issues to be changed through an update. So, based on my device disconnections, I have to lower my original score to 3 stars.Electronicman52

I've had a number of routers – and all were decent, but most had occasional issues like resets, dropped connections, fluctuating results. Netgear Nighthawk series was my go to, but even with extenders there was some loss depending on the location in the house. For mesh I was looking at the Asus, Nighthawk, Google, etc…. and decided to reach out to an expert (my companies' IT dude – he's wicked smaht). I listened to his suggestion – get something simple to set up that would cover the house without having to do overly complicated and he suggested the Deco 7200. Simply put, it does an amazing job. Not sure about the other reviewers who had problems with bandwith, but I'm averaging 450/26 consistently. No dropped connections, and even when I accidentally unplugged the system, I just plugged it back in and all was well. The app is also very simple to use and gives updates on firmware and any issues that may occur. I would HIGHLY recommend this for non-IT versed users (like me) who just want something to plug in and go.Tai

This review is for the TP-Link Deco W7200 mesh router system. We current house design does not allow easy access for running network cabling. I had two routers bridged to allow connectivity to the far end of our 1 story house, but the connection was not stable. Decided to replace these with a mesh system to provide better connectivity. Setup was quick, easy and these routers are not only fast, but provide for future devices, as they support Wi-Fi 6. The signal strength is stronger and consistent throughout the house. I was even able to change the IP schema from the default to my previous, so I did not need to reset devices I have with static IP addresses. You do need to download TP-Link's Deco app to your cell phone or table setup this system. The power adapters are fairly large, so be aware that they will take up more space than a regular 3 prong plug. You will need to completely power down your old network, including a modem, connect the first Deco, then power back up and log into the Deco app to complete setup. After this unit is on line and functioning properly, all you need to do for the second unit is place it within range of the first unit and power on. A blue light will flash during the setup, then change to green once it is connected to the network. No further configurations needed for the second unit. Another plus for those that are bothered by the power indicator lights is that these can be turned completely off or set to turn off during a time period of your choice. There is a guest network option that can be setup, along with a number of other basic router configurations. Each unit has 2 network cable ports available. Using these, you have the option of connecting them together via network cable to allow faster data transfer between the units, or you can connect other devices to these ports, such as a switch or printer, allowing Internet connectivity without the need to run cabling, which is great for locations where you cannot install cabling. Those users that prefer to do major router setting modifications may not be able to those with this system, but for most users, the options available are more than enough. The system can send you alerts when there are changes happening, such as a new device connecting. Should you require more range than this 2-unit system can provide, you can attach additional units to your network to expand the coverage area. Overall, I am quite pleased with this system compared to my old 2 router setup. They provide a faster more consistent signal with room for future expansion needs and I would purchase these again. One last thing, this is the same system as the TP-Link X68, but is being sold for less under the Walmart (W7200) name.Kbike

I searched for a while to get a reliably wired gigabit router that had decent speed tests and compared almost all listed on newegg and read through almost every single review…at the time, it probably took about 3 afternoons. I haven't done any official tests, but speeds are fantastic. The administration of the device in bridge mode is frustrating, but like most network devices, once you set them up properly, you'll be fine for a while as long as you buy good gear. Not being able to use cellphone to connect to it wirelessly or a desktop wired (all within the same subnet) is frustrating….really? But it still works well and it's easy to reconfigure again. I wish the instructions were more clear to setup the device in bridge mode. A website literally said to ignore EVERYTHING else in the manual after you basically turned the device on. Yeah….that's as much help as the manual was for configuration. But search forums and you'll easily find out how to do it. I had minor in network administration so it wasn't the gargon – it was just how do I enable it…. The cellphone ap is handy, but obviously limited. Most of the fundamental settings can be done there, but again, you can't connect in bridge mode. The 3 AP's can be helpful to help multiple different types of users connect to it. I ended up putting most of our house on a single AP so I could use my cellphone for turning on AV receiver, Sonos devices, TV and connect to airport express. BTW – if you're in bridge mode, you disconnect the sonos and airport express devices – keeping the sonos attached will cause a network storm with the broadcasts from sonos. That's a well known issue and limitation of sonos – it still uses that single AP as a the underlying backbone of the sonos network, but just not physically wired anymore. By following the Quick Installation Guide I was up and running in under 5 minutes. The router was INCREDIBLY easy to setup and configure using it's web based interface. Six simple steps replaced my old router, and then it was on to the web based interface to configure the router. The web based interface was very easy to use and navigate. Once logged in to the router, the software did most of the configuration. I updated the SSIDs and passwords for all three bands, and it was ready to go! Very very simple, anyone's grandmother could do it if they can follow instructions. Previously, I had a few deadspots in my house that didn't get very strong 5Ghz or 2.4 Ghz signal. This router solved those problems!!! The signal strength on each band was much stronger and operated very well in each deadspot I USE to have. I tested the router bandwidth speed in three primary locations that I'd use the router. I ran the test three times and averaged the results. Purchased this due to old wireless router died. Picked this one out of the lot from Officeworks due to the reviews. Being on NBN the auto setup didnt work, you have to manually enter the settings. Read the other reviews to see how to do it. Port forwarding took a bit to set up, but got their in the end. So far so good for our work from home household and kids wireless devices. 3 year warranty seems fair.JP3000

The TP Link router arrived packaged well with all items. Included were the router, an ethernet cable, power cord, instructions, and a card identifying the SSID names and factory assigned password. The router itself is sleek, shiny black with four antennas. The instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. I have set up routers before but I believe a person with only limited understanding of routers would be able to follow the instructions. The setup time took about 15 minutes. About the only minor issue I had in the setup was not waiting long enough for my desktop to recognize the TP Link router. It can also be setup with a phone app. I setup the router as the primary network work router. It can also be setup as an access point which is expanding your existing network by setting up this router to the existing wifi router. I did not do this but I did have an existing Netgear extender which I did setup to communicate with the TP Link router which worked fine using the TP Link instructions I found online. The existing router I had is a Netgear R6300 which I have had for approximately 3 years. I did purchase another Netgear router a few months back but returned it because it did not improve the broadcast area or increase the speed. I did speed tests for the current Netgear router for a baseline to compare to the TP Link at different locations throughout the house. Both the existing Netgear router and the TP Link router are dual bands having 2.4 GHZ and 5G. The 2.4 band for routers has bigger broadcast areas but are not as fast as the 5G. The 5G band is just the opposite, having a lesser broadcast reach but faster speeds. Our internet plan is 100mbps so the TP link is capable and will probably have a higher throughput speed but my test is limited by our internet plan speed. Interestingly, the 5G band speed for downloads was about the same for both routers at about 105mbps. But the speed of the 2.4 band was substantially improved with the TP Link router. The existing Netgear router download speed for the 2.4 band was around 40 to 45 mbps. The TP Link router on the same band tested around 60 mbps at any location except for my worse location in the house which was 11.1 mbps for the Netgear router and 28.8 mbps for the TP link router. We live in an older two-story house that are notoriously difficult for wifi router broadcast reach. I’m sure a more recently constructed house would have better range and speed. The upload speed for both routers was about 10.5. I tested the wifi with two Roku TV’s with about the same result. On the 2.4 band the signal was excellent. On the 5G band the signal was excellent in one location and fair in the other location for both routers. I played a movie on Netflix using each of the routers and the results were excellent in both cases. I tested download speed of an Xbox game on the TP Link router and the download speed varied (as always) but was between 75 and 116 mbps running on the 5G band which is about the same as the Netgear router. I played a game on the Xbox using the TP Link router and it worked fine. FYI, you will have to login to the new router with the new password on each device which is not included in the setup time above. Overall, the TP Link router improved the speed on the 2.4Ghz band significantly and based on the results of the worst reception area in the house, improved the broadcast range. I have used Netgear routers for about 20 years and this is my first experience with a different brand but I was pleased with the results.skw

I needed a new router and this TP-Link Archer C80 fit the bill for my increasing usage needs. Installation was average but the firmware needed to be updated before installation. This isn't made clear so much time is wasted entering settings only to have them erased when updating the software. This was frustrating and took extra time. The interface was easy enough to understand. Once set up, the router provided adequate speed readings. I have the router in my basement and there was no problem with speed on the upper levels. So streaming was not an issue. The price is good. The installation is average to good. The looks and appearance are excellent. The performance so far is excellent, doing all that it is supposed to do with plenty of room to accommodate many devices. I recommend this product.MorningGlory

No computer is required for setup of the tp-link router, instead you can set up this router with your smartphone using the Tether app which is available in the Apple or Google App Store. This router can also be installed using a laptop or desktop computer. I searched for a while to get a reliably wired gigabit router that had decent speed tests and compared almost all listed on newegg and read through almost every single review…at the time, it probably took about 3 afternoons. I haven't done any official tests, but speeds are fantastic. The administration of the device in bridge mode is frustrating, but like most network devices, once you set them up properly, you'll be fine for a while as long as you buy good gear. Not being able to use cellphone to connect to it wirelessly or a desktop wired (all within the same subnet) is frustrating….really? But it still works well and it's easy to reconfigure again. I wish the instructions were more clear to setup the device in bridge mode. A website literally said to ignore EVERYTHING else in the manual after you basically turned the device on. Yeah….that's as much help as the manual was for configuration. But search forums and you'll easily find out how to do it. I had minor in network administration so it wasn't the gargon – it was just how do I enable it…. The cellphone ap is handy, but obviously limited. Most of the fundamental settings can be done there, but again, you can't connect in bridge mode. The 3 AP's can be helpful to help multiple different types of users connect to it. I ended up putting most of our house on a single AP so I could use my cellphone for turning on AV receiver, Sonos devices, TV and connect to airport express. BTW – if you're in bridge mode, you disconnect the sonos and airport express devices – keeping the sonos attached will cause a network storm with the broadcasts from sonos. That's a well known issue and limitation of sonos – it still uses that single AP as a the underlying backbone of the sonos network, but just not physically wired anymore. By following the Quick Installation Guide I was up and running in under 5 minutes. The router was INCREDIBLY easy to setup and configure using it's web based interface. Six simple steps replaced my old router, and then it was on to the web based interface to configure the router. The web based interface was very easy to use and navigate. Once logged in to the router, the software did most of the configuration. I updated the SSIDs and passwords for all three bands, and it was ready to go! Very very simple, anyone's grandmother could do it if they can follow instructions. Previously, I had a few deadspots in my house that didn't get very strong 5Ghz or 2.4 Ghz signal. This router solved those problems!!! The signal strength on each band was much stronger and operated very well in each deadspot I USE to have. I tested the router bandwidth speed in three primary locations that I'd use the router. I ran the test three times and averaged the results. I received this mesh router system as an incentive to give my opinion by review. I originally rated this Deco mesh router at 4 stars. I am updating that to 3 stars due to issues with devices disconnecting frequently. I contribute this to the Deco software that automatically selects the routers 2GHz Wi-Fi channel based on other routers nearby and the channels those routers are broadcasting on. TP-Link has configured the Deco mesh routers to search for the clearest available 2 GHz channel based on it's softwares scans of nearby routers channel traffic. That is common among today's routers. But, there are two software issues that TP-Link incorporated into the Deco systems that other mesh router manufacturers have an advantage over. The first is that the Deco's 2 GHz Wi-Fi channel cannot be manually set by the consumer to remain on a constant frequency. The second is that while the Deco does select what it detects to be the clearest 2GHz channel, it tends to stray from the three best options for what has been determined are the only non-overlapping frequencies available, channels 1, 6 and 11. Because the Deco is constantly scanning for a better 2GHz Wi-Fi channel to broadcast it's signal from, there is a short disconnect between the router and your devices. Usually that disconnect is not noticed and the devices are able to function without issues. But coupled with the Deco choosing overlapping 2GHz frequencies to broadcast on, I believe creates enough instability to cause some devices running on the 2GHz channel to completely loose their Wi-Fi connection to the router. Even devices that may be placed close to the router or the satellite. There is a software option to allow certain devices to receive priority over others in signal distribution, but that doesn't eliminate the issue of device disconnection. If you have minimal devices connected to the router, that may stabilize your network. But I have over twenty devices connected, although not all are running at the same time. I have spoken with tech support and they have no plans to change their software to allow for either of these issues to be changed through an update. So, based on my device disconnections, I have to lower my original score to 3 stars.Electronicman52

I've had a number of routers – and all were decent, but most had occasional issues like resets, dropped connections, fluctuating results. Netgear Nighthawk series was my go to, but even with extenders there was some loss depending on the location in the house. For mesh I was looking at the Asus, Nighthawk, Google, etc…. and decided to reach out to an expert (my companies' IT dude – he's wicked smaht). I listened to his suggestion – get something simple to set up that would cover the house without having to do overly complicated and he suggested the Deco 7200. Simply put, it does an amazing job. Not sure about the other reviewers who had problems with bandwith, but I'm averaging 450/26 consistently. No dropped connections, and even when I accidentally unplugged the system, I just plugged it back in and all was well. The app is also very simple to use and gives updates on firmware and any issues that may occur. I would HIGHLY recommend this for non-IT versed users (like me) who just want something to plug in and go.Tai

This review is for the TP-Link Deco W7200 mesh router system. We current house design does not allow easy access for running network cabling. I had two routers bridged to allow connectivity to the far end of our 1 story house, but the connection was not stable. Decided to replace these with a mesh system to provide better connectivity. Setup was quick, easy and these routers are not only fast, but provide for future devices, as they support Wi-Fi 6. The signal strength is stronger and consistent throughout the house. I was even able to change the IP schema from the default to my previous, so I did not need to reset devices I have with static IP addresses. You do need to download TP-Link's Deco app to your cell phone or table setup this system. The power adapters are fairly large, so be aware that they will take up more space than a regular 3 prong plug. You will need to completely power down your old network, including a modem, connect the first Deco, then power back up and log into the Deco app to complete setup. After this unit is on line and functioning properly, all you need to do for the second unit is place it within range of the first unit and power on. A blue light will flash during the setup, then change to green once it is connected to the network. No further configurations needed for the second unit. Another plus for those that are bothered by the power indicator lights is that these can be turned completely off or set to turn off during a time period of your choice. There is a guest network option that can be setup, along with a number of other basic router configurations. Each unit has 2 network cable ports available. Using these, you have the option of connecting them together via network cable to allow faster data transfer between the units, or you can connect other devices to these ports, such as a switch or printer, allowing Internet connectivity without the need to run cabling, which is great for locations where you cannot install cabling. Those users that prefer to do major router setting modifications may not be able to those with this system, but for most users, the options available are more than enough. The system can send you alerts when there are changes happening, such as a new device connecting. Should you require more range than this 2-unit system can provide, you can attach additional units to your network to expand the coverage area. Overall, I am quite pleased with this system compared to my old 2 router setup. They provide a faster more consistent signal with room for future expansion needs and I would purchase these again. One last thing, this is the same system as the TP-Link X68, but is being sold for less under the Walmart (W7200) name.Kbike
