I happened upon this site by chance while searching for aftershave. It was just a couple of months ago, and my "routine" was to brush my teeth in the morning, and at night shower with Irish spring bar soap and whatever shampoo/conditioner was on sale at CVS. I saw the free sample offer, and figured, why not? Browsing the site after ordering a sample kit, I figured I'd use the samples that I cared to, throw out the rest, but it didn't matter because I'd definitely never buy any soaps or moisturizers that were so expensive. I was completely blown away. The first thing that I used was the charcoal face soap, in the morning shortly after waking up. I'd never used a soap that left me feeling so clean, but was so gentle on my face. And the subtle minty coolness-it was invigorating, I felt fully awake and ready to start my day. I always thought that "invigorating face wash" was marketing BS that sounded good, but didn't really mean anything. After that, I went through the samples a bit more seriously, and started using the serums and creams in the morning and at night, and started to notice that my skin looked and felt healthier, which was something that I never paid attention to or cared about. I was pleasantly surprised with how long the tiny sample tubs lasted, too, which put the price point into perspective. The premium price tag is because they are premium products with high quality ingredients that work very well in small amounts. I made sure to place my first real order soon enough that I wouldn't run out of anything and break my new routine. Fast forward to today, I started my day by washing my face with charcoal face wash, followed by spritzing with toner, an application of day serum, and moisturized with eye balm and resurfacing cream. After a long, hot day of work in the kitchen, I showered with the all-purpose hair and body wash, after getting out, another spritz of toner, used the renewing face scrub before shaving- I haven't tried Brickell shave oil or cream yet, those are next-followed by your aftershave. Before bed, another round of charcoal soap, night serum, eye balm, and revitalizing cream. This has gotten a bit long, but I wanted to use the review of this routine to mention how much I love all of these Brickell products. I'm so pleasantly surprised, I had absolutely zero intention to ever purchase anythjng, and didn't give even the tiniest…heck…about skin care. But my skin just feels healthy and happy, I feel cleaner, I'm really blown away as someone who never considered a "routine". I’ve always been a big believer in Prevention is the best for of treatment. I broke out insanely, like never before. So i started to search for face washes, moisturizers, etc. at first i found harry’s..loved it..used an aveeno face moisturizer with the best reviews on amazon and considered number 1..hated the smell & it irritated my eyes..go figure it seemed to have some weird gold flakes or sparkles lol screw that. I think during that time was when my face was the clearest and nicest…so i did my research on amazon, but saw a review about a sample..decided to order. WOW. Not a single breakout from mostly using face wash and moisturizer twice a day as they recommend. No oily skin, no acne, dark spots going away, nice dry feel but my face looks good. I like to keep it simple. So i went with the face care routine. Turns out clarifying gel dried my skin…so it wasn’t for me now. I now use the purifying charcoal face wash with the moisturizer. All i need. You get what you pay for guys. Also i doubt these things only last 2 months haha. You need the tiniest amount of moisturizer. The face wash super liquid but you don’t need much either. I have noticed a steady improvement in men's skincare over the last several years and I have to say your products are right up there with some of the best I have used. I turn 52 this year and although look younger I'm vain and want to keep it that way as long as I can…lol! I started with this trio and have recently ordered an additional face wash and added the face scrub this time to give it a try along with the charcoal body bar and the free sample kit to try out some other products in your line. The face wash is absolutely a five star. Great lather, great fragrance, and a little goes a long way. Clean feel and most importantly truly clean skin and I'm talking up close. Pores are debris free and way less inflammation than I've gotten from some other cleansers. The only reason I'm ordering so soon is because my husband has commendered it and it's going a little faster. The one thing I am most picky about with skincare is a moisturizer and this one is perfect. I have oily/combination skin and live in a humid climate about 4-5 months out of the year and this stuff isn't heavy at all, absorbs nicely and does what I need it to do and gives a really nice matte finish to my skin. A little goes a long way, like seriously less than a dime size does my whole face and neck. The toner is lighter in fragrance which I am fine with and doesn't dry my skin out or make it feel tight but works for controlling oil and getting rid of razor burn. How did you do that? : ) This was a great way to start using your products or if someone is looking to just use a small and simple 3 step skincare system. I also purchased the mask and let me tell you a little goes a long way. It took a couple of times to get the application right but I'm all good now! If you are new to skin care and need a basic cleanser for oily skin or are in need for a second cleanser in a two step cleansing routine, this product does the job. First off, even though it is advertised for those with oily skin I have found it works well for those with dry skin as well (I have combination). It is just that the other product advertised for dry skin does not work as well for oily skin, this product on the other hand feels pretty universal. This product is however NOT FOR those who wear medium to heavy make up and want to use a single cleanser. There are other cleansers out there that remove makeup and cleanse at the same time in one cleanser, go buy those if you don't want to double cleanse or remove makeup beforehand using wipes or pads. If you wear very light makeup (meaning only foundation basically) this product can get rid of that just fine. For everyone else, this is the cleanser you should get if you don't want anything else in your cleanser (meaning you don't need your cleanser to exfoliate, brighten, soothe, etc). It is scentless, does not have any active ingredients, and is formulated really well (I'm not going to go into detail about ingredients, but just trust me in that it is a good list). As hinted at above, it also works really well as a second cleanser in a double cleansing routine, and as your cleanser after you remove your makeup with a pad or wipes. The highest praise I can give to this product is that it is super consistent. I have used 3 bottles in a year (so each lasts about 4 months) and have found that all 3 bottles felt identical in there feel, use, and effect. I have added and removed many products into my routine throughout the year and have simply kept this cleanser and it has had no adverse effects on my skin no matter what I was cleansing off or what I added to my skin after my skin. Having used it throughout the year, it also works just as well throughout the seasons not matter the ambient temperature in your house. Don't get me wrong – this product DOES work well at removing excess oil without leaving a gross, filmy residue on your skin. My face feels really clean after using it. I appreciate that it is fragrance free but the smell of it bothers me. It smells like a swimming pool and a bit chemical like which is a little off putting. My other complaint is that it leaves the area around my mouth feeling dried out compared to the rest of my face. Not sure what that is about, could have something to do with postpartum hormones, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're buying this however it's nothing that a moisturizer afterwards can't fix. I was going to put in an order tonight but the kind for oily skin was the only one available. My grandaughter uses that one bc she has/had acne. The rest of us use normal to oily. I may have to wait to put in my order. Since my grandaughter started using the one for oily skin twice a day her acne is gone, she's 21 now & was 17 when I bought her first bottle. my daughters & I use normal to oily & it's great, I've tried alot of other cleansers which dry my skin out. Great everyday cleanser. Good for basic face cleaning without all the gimmicks. Cleans easily and makes my face feel super pure without being dry. I would compare it to their version of a dermatologist recommended cleanser like Cetaphil or Neutrogena but this one is way better! It doesn't bother me at all since it is allergy-tested and fragrance-free. That is one of the big pulls I have to Clinique. The Oil Control Face Wash has been reformulated earlier on in 2020 — one of the biggest differences is that the ingredient menthol has been removed. This can be confirmed in the updated ingredient listing for this product as well as speaking directly with a Clinique representative both online and in their New York offices — which is exactly what I did in November of 2020. While I'm in favor of removing menthol, Clinique is still sending out the older versions of this item with that ingredient in it. My most recent order confirms this as well. I'm quite anxious to try this updated version and after calling Clinique directly, as well as several Clinique counters, nobody has a clue as to when the updated version will actually be the one a customer receives when placing an order. I have used other Clinique products before but this was the first Men's product I have ever purchased. Sadly, I was disappointed. It actually made my skin more oily and shiney. I thought as a guy, this would be perfect since my skin is already oily but sadly after 9 days of use, I needed to discontinue as I saw no results, only adverse ones. The Rare Earth collection works fine, but those products offer little nutrition for the skin, and serve just to mattify one's appearance. The Blue Herbal line is far too stripping, and most other "everyday" face washes don't do us oily people any favors either. I enjoy the packaging and the scent of this product. I wouldn't call it a bad product, but there are far better products on the market, many of which are made by Kiehl's. The texture is far too jelly-like and requires some extra rinsing to remove all of the residue. I have been using this for over 1 month, and my oiliness and pore size remains the same. I will not be purchasing this product again. I found the best solution for oily skin remains Kiehl's Oil-Free Ultra Facial Wash. Perhaps I will try the new Calendula Foaming Wash next, but if not, I will most certainly return to the Ultra Oil-Free.munkustrap178

I have been using the Bioglycolic Oily Skin Cleansing Gel for many years. I'm male and in my 50's, my skin however, thinks I'm in my teens. The upside, I'm told I don't look my age – the down side problem skin, especially the oilyness My dermatologist sent me for a programme of treatments in conjunction with medication. Those treatments (it turned out) were all Jan Marini products. The one I absolutely had to keep up with, was the Oily Skin Gel. You feel thoroughly cleansed, pore deep, but not striped and tight. For me, morning use only, (different products at night), and with only one pump per day, that bottle lasts around three months, making it affordable. I have tried cheaper high street Glycolic products, but simply a waste of money. I learned recently, how substantially more glycolic acid was added in the Jan Marini product, and it's that AHA, that does the good work. I came to this through advice and treatment, and do suggest you get a little info before use. Definitely, give it a go!
I love this product for oily skin. I have always been told that even with oily skin I needed to use a moisturizer but everything made me even more oily until I tried this product. Although this isn’t a moisturizer, this product completely cleanses the skin of makeup and oil and helps the moisturizer soak in unlike any other cleanser I have tried. It cleans my face so well that I now have to use a moisturizer at night, and if I don’t then I will have dry patches. I have never had a cleanser that could meet its match with such oily skin like mine, but this product meets and beats all others. If you are oily then you will know what I’m talking about, sometimes it’s nice to have that dryness. I love this product and it is definitely worth a try. It only takes a small amount so this bottle will go along way. Follow the directions by applying this without water then apply water to your hands to lather your face.
This is a very good product for oily skin. It cuts through the oil with a detergent type of action. For some reason, though, in my menopausal stage, the oil has gotten worse. Finally found the perfect cleanser for my face and skin type. I've already noticed a huge difference in overall oil reduction, texture, and clogged pores, so I'm pleased. I have combo oily/dry skin on my face, so some areas over produce oil and some areas are drier than a desert. But a couple of things I noticed about this cleanser is it works really well to unclog the oily areas and keep them moisturized a bit. After about 4 days, I did notice the salicylic acid starting to work and my face was flaking off, but that's what it's supposed to do. So I added some Jergens Ultra Healing lotion to my routine and WOW it's effective. The dry parts of my face are moist, the oily parts are moist but not oily. Would recommend.Luftherz

I received the CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser for reviewing purposes. I have combination skin nose and chin very oily, forehead is super dry rest of face is normal. I also get hormonal acne. With all that said I find this product actually whole line really great. I have only been using for about 3 weeks so I am just over the purging stage but I am seeing my pores getting smaller also not having as much redness. Overall Blackwood for Men BioNutrient Foaming Face Wash – 4.55 fl oz is okay for what it is. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but also not horrible. It is in my opinion a little underwhelming when it comes to the scent and cleansing action. There is an extremely faint almost nonexistent scent of citrus in it. What really turned me off from the scent is the artificial synthetic smell you get when you apply it to your face. I am not sure if it is the arginine or the mixture of all the ingredients, but it is prominent. With respect to the effectiveness long term, I cannot tell yet, but it does seem to clean my face like other off the shelf face washes. My face does feel clean afterwords, but again having a slightly stronger or even a masculine scent would be nice to give the user at least a "clean" feeling after using it. It would at least feel like you cleaned your face with a "premium" product. This was ordered online, and I will say the packaging was above average and dare I say a little over the top. It came in a fairly large box for the bottle size, it was wrapped well and came with lots of packaging and a solid feeling box. Good looking bottle design. Pump needs to produce more foam with one pump, I found myself having to use more than one pump to get the right amount out. Would I buy this again? I'll admit, I was skeptical. For the past 10 years or so, I have used Kiehl's products to cleanse my face. It seems that every time I run out and have to replace something I liked, they change the formula and it ends up fundamentally different than what I liked about it. I attribute that to an attempt at cost-saving (though turning off one's customers seems like a funny way to increase profits), but that mentality has always made me wary of facial products that didn't cost half my paycheck. This face wash has completely changed my opinion of products on the lower end of the price scale. The product itself is unscented, which I appreciate, and it smells a bit like basic soap. The foam is neither greasy nor too harsh, and my face feel great after using it. One thing that might seem unimportant but makes me happy is the pump. The product has a nice but not overpowering scent. Sort of a fresh, woodsy/outdoors scent that doesn't overpower. It foams a decent amount when you pump and one pump was enough for 1/2 my face. Pictures show the amount from a single pump. The soap maintains a good presence/feel even after you spend some time rubbing it around to clean, it still has a "feel" to it and doesn't just fade away. This lathers so wonderfully. The directions for use say use a generous amount but I find that less than a dime sized squeeze is plenty. The tea tree in this smells great without being overbearing. I don’t feel like my skin has that tight sensation after washing and it doesn’t react with any toner I’ve used after it. It rinses well and my skin feels and looks so much brighter and more awake after using it. Will definitely be purchasing again!

I can have a reactive skin at times with certain products. I have used most Biotherm creams without any problem until now. It looks like this one might be too harsh on my skin. I had hopes….. opened the tube and got ready to shower. Smells alright, and the cooling is good a nice change to my routine. But dang if it doesn’t feel like I’m washing a years worth of butter, bacon grease, and brisket drippings off of my face. The wash is more hydrophobic than all that oil BP poured into the Gulf, probably due to all the oils they poured into this. Also why doesn’t it lather…..? I bought this because I couldn't find the black tube formula. It smelled unpleasantly sharp and left me with small cuts. I liked the old formula because it gave me a really smooth shave and had a nice scent, but this stuff smells like someone mixed Pine-Sol and Everclear. Plus it gives a rotten shave. The old formula was definitely better, but the new formula seemed okay at first. However, then I bought a couple bottles online and when they were delivered, the cream seemed "grainy," almost as if they added some kind of exfoliating bead to the cream, which makes no sense – it only clogs up my razor. I was super excited to get the opportunity to try this product. This was the first product I have ever used from this brand and I will have to say that I will continue to purchase their products. I will have to admit though once I first opened the bottle I was a little skeptical to use it because of the smell. It was pretty strong but once I used the cleanser it made my face feel so refreshed and much more smoother. It cleaned really nicely and within just a couple of days it started clearing up my acne. My face feels more moisturized and not dried out. Also the bottle is super convenient with the pump and is very easy to use. I have combination oily skin, but recently, I have had a lot of breakouts and blackheads. Pores have also seem to have expanded even though I follow a strict skincare routine and have always had relatively good skin. I have always used a benzoyl peroxide wash to keep acne away, but realized 1) it still wasn't cleaning my skin properly, because I would wipe my face with toner and still see a SUPER dirty cotton pad, and 2) it was not tackling any of the blackheads, so I would always resort to my good ole extractor to do the job. I always use a salicylic acid treatment, but not a face wash, so decided to try this (along with some other ones to test). THIS ONE IS THE BEST. I used it once, did some light scrubbing in my T-zone area, let it sit on my face for about 20 seconds while I was rinsing my conditioner from my hair, and then rinse it off. When I applied toner, I still had a little bit of dirty stuff on the cotton pad, but this cleared the majority of my pores and I did not see a blackhead in sight! Please remember that I have combo oily skin, so if you are more on the dry side, I would not recommend using this very often or let it sit on your skin like I do.Aroma
I've tried several cleanser along with trying out Curology for 4 months. It made my problems way worse than I've ever had them with acne. Back in December 21' I decided to sign up and truly regret ever doing so. Long story short, after months of using their products, my face had a lot of healing to do. Not only was I suffering from acne (I mean several new breakouts a day), I always was flaking really bad and my face would burn anytime I applied something to my face. I did a lot of research and decided to give this one a try and mannnn am I really happy with my decision. I still get pimples, mostly around the time I start my period though, and have scarring that I'm still working on, but my face is so much more calmer, happier, I'm not so self-conscious anymore. It really is helping. I have acne prone, combination skin and my face loves this cleanser. Scent is a tad-bit strong from tea tree oil, but my skin doesn't seem bothered by it. BUY IT!shel

This face wash is the best i could find out there. my skin is oily and sesnitive at the same time. I do get breakouts here and there randomly. With some redness on the face along with sensitive skin, finfing the right face washwash was a challenge. This is the best face wash, doesnt dry out my skin after the wash, skin feels clean, refreshed and supple. I love the clear gel texture of the facewash. If you talk about the price , its definatley worth it as it goes a long way. Value for money yes, and gentle to the skin. It doesnt irritates my skin after the wash and has mild fragrance. Afterusing this face wash for about 6 months i could feel the diffrence in my skin.Akhil
What I love about it: smells amazing, a little goes a long way. What I don’t like: doesn’t nothing for my outbreaks, pretty basic cleanser. I’ve definitely have better. I’m not sure how this did well with other peoples acne and outbreaks but this formula just wasn’t for me. I love the smell but for those with sensitive skin may want to stay away. Like many La Roche products a dime size will lather very well for my entire face and neck. Unfortunately I’m stuck with an entire bottle of face wash I can only use once a day. Not the best to remove make up. I just use this to wash my face in the morning. I love their products but this one is not for me.ashguerrero
Its perfect for oily skin. I have suffered from acne since along time. Then my dermatologist prescribed my this facial cleanser. And i never stopped it since then. I am from egypt i used it there and i searched for it here in the US. until i found it on the website. I found it in cvs pharmacy too. My recommendation, if you have an oily skin like mine . Is to use it daily once or twice a day depending on your skin needs, and apply la roche posay matte moisturizer afterwards. Use a facial scrub once weekly. This cleanser is perfect. Love how it smells, very refreshing. Very inexpensive and last a long time. Yes, I am a man and I have always used skin care. It started when I was young and then later when married, my wife worked for various skin care companies so I was always supplied with skin care. She worked for several high end (expensive) companies and we always received many itms for free so, why not? Anyway, after my divorce and now without my high end skin care “dealer” I had to fend for myself. I have tried them all and to be honest, there is no reason to spend that kind of money on any of it. Neutrogena is just as good, maybe even better than all those expensive brands. I do wish Neutrogena would expand their men’s line though. Not that Everything has to say “For Men” on it to use but I think some men would prefer that. The men’s products state they have the same ingredients but they seem to be formulated slightly different. Different texture, sheen etc. They should add eye care, body care, maybe even hair products. This has been my daily face wash followed up with PanOxil since high school. I haven't had a blemish in years. I ran out of the Neutrogena men's blue facewash last week, and today I woke up like iam in freshman year with 3 pimples! I am reviewing the Neutrogena Men Oil-Free Invigorating Foaming Face Wash. When I heard the word " invigorating " in the title I was excited to try it because this usually means that its going to make my skin feel " minty fresh " and tingly. The face wash itself is a light blue and like a thin gel consistency. I washed my hands first then applied the amount that would equal about two quarters to my hands (a pretty generous amount) I rubbed my hands together and applied to my face and rubbed in well. I felt like it cleaned my face well and it was a very refreshing feeling as I was washing my face but it didn't seem to foam at all so I'm not quite sure why it is considered a foaming face wash. I was not concerned about if it foamed or not though. I rinsed my face and let it air dry since my hand towel was in the wash. My face felt very slightly tingly / " minty " during the washing and while my face was drying but not after that. I have used other Neutrogena face washes that gave my skin more of a tingle so I was slightly disappointed in the tingle department but it worked good overall. The scent was fresh and clean and also very masculine. I highly recommend it if the foaming or tingling is not important to you but you want a manly smelling face wash that makes your skin feel clean.Shannon

Eventhough this product is marketed towards men ( and I am a woman ), this product is not too harsh for me and it gets all the dirt off after a full day. The packaging’s in a tube too, so you can cut up the tube to get every last bit of the product. Also, my brother uses this ( he was the one who got me into it ), and his skin is very nice ( he rarely gets acne ). So it’s approved by my brother too!vanessa.a
