I just tried this out to style my old school crew cut. I find that it leaves my hair looking and feeling much more natural, smooth and shiny than the water based pomades. It's also really nice that it's reworkable throughout the day. Also, like everything suavecito makes…it smells amazing! Like everything in life, there are trade offs. As many have mentioned, this stuff does take a while to wash out even for me with a relatively short crew cut (about 1 to 1.5inches on top). Amazing pomade my son has thick hair and I was first using the cremo pomade however after some months it was no longer holding his hair up and I searched for a new one and landed on this one. I have been using this product for years (4-5 years). I have thick hair, and the strong hold was really the best. There is nothing "strong" about this product any longer, it has changed…why? It used to be thick and actually strong, not too shiny just perfect. Now it doesn't hold my thick hair in place, and just running your finger through the tub, you can tell it has changed, it's more like the original hold now. I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. I used this many years ago when I was relaxing my hair to smooth it while drying under hood dryers. When I transitioned to natural hair, I tried almost every product on the market until I got my hair cut and asked the stylist what she liked for natural hair. When she mentioned this product I remembered the results on relaxed hair so I bought some immediately. I wash and apply about a quarter size amount twice to my hair which is short on the sides and long on top. I can easily detangle the top and twist single curls all over; let them dry and pull apart the next day for fabulous curls that last the week. I still two strand twist them anyway at nite but there really is no need. My hair is thick 4B/C and this gives it moisture and shine. It's tough looking for hair product that's natural and good on the body. While I enjoy a majority of the Badger products, this one needs a little more work on it. A lot of the reviews here are pretty much the same; a little more hold is desperately needed. A little beeswax is needed for a firmer hold. Also, water solubility is a problem as well. It's a bit oily at times when washing it from your hair; sometimes two washes are needed to clean up. Overall, the product does it job; smells great, holds but could hold a bit tighter. I bought this product for my husband. He has short, soft hair type. His favourite hair cream is discontinued so I got this one for the replacement. Having good ingredients and beautiful smell but… My husband didn't like it very much because it comes off and goes into his eyes. Too runny than textured wax type cream side. I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. There is also some Murray's-like buildup after a few days that takes a couple shampoos to get out.Long C.
Suavecito is the best smelling pomade hands down. I use this particularly for work and it holds well all day. I have a gentleman’s cut combover and makes my cut look 10/10. This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. There is also some Murray's-like buildup after a few days that takes a couple shampoos to get out.Long C.
Suavecito is the best smelling pomade hands down. I use this particularly for work and it holds well all day. I have a gentleman’s cut combover and makes my cut look 10/10. This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. I liked the styling clay but wanted a bit more hold. This pomade does that. It doesn't have as prominent of a mint smell as the clay, which is too bad, but it doesn't smell bad either (it smells basically like nothing). It dries more stiffly than the clay pomade and leaves the hair feeling like it has product in it (kind of hard and crackly to the touch). The clay pomade left my hair feeling softer and less like it had product in it. This is my first foray into pomades, and I was braced for something between a hair oil and the crunchy gels of the 80s. I was pleasantly surprised to find Cremo delivered something far better. This pomade is a solid hold, especially when worked through do hair, and it holds for 24 hours, if not longer. I've been able to mist water on my hair and comb it back into place after sleeping for a second day's hold. It doesn't have a strong smell, which is great — nothing to compete with my aftershave and cologne. I have 3a/b curly hair, ringlets with big volume and I thought I'd never be able to wear my hair straight without using a straightener religiously. And with this product alone, I can wear my hair slicked back and mostly straight in a Peaky Blinders cut. That's the kind of hold Cremo delivers, and I'm a convert for life. I recently received this Cremo Thickening Styling Paste #freeproduct from #trywithtopbox to try in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time my fiancé is trying a styling paste, he usually uses hair glue for his hair. He found that the product was easy to use and work into his hair. The texture of the paste is really soft and not at all sticky or tacky. It however does not have as much hold as his usual hair glue. He actually has pretty thick hair to begin with so he couldn't tell if there was a thickening effect. However, he said he really loved the scent of product. Most hair styling products he has tried usually smells waxy or has a overwhelming perfumy scent. This one smells like an old fashioned barber shop. I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. Spiffy is truly an understatement. I have used many pomade from different brands Axe, Got2Be, and Generic brands as well. I like this pomade because its functional, smooth, and easy to apply. The smell is great, the wash is easy, and the feeling during the day doesn't make you itch or greasy. The only reason i didn't give this a full five stars is because the scent is not strong enough. After maybe an hour or two the scent is completely gone. I would prefer it to have a hint of the scent the entire day. The quality to me is really the best i have use thus far. This is a good product that keeps your hair coiffed without the dreaded crackly helmet-head. While the hold is not very strong (there are other products in the Old Spice line that are better suited for willful hair), it's perfect for gently coercing your hair into a neat look. I typically use it right after the shower when my hair is wet as that seems to work the best for me. Smell-wise, I'll admit it's not my favorite. I haven't found it comparable to any of the other smells in the Old Spice line-up but it's alright. I've been told it smells great by others though.The one downside I've discovered while using this is it tends to dry out my hair pretty badly. Using the pomade: The product is good at taming flyaways for a slicked-back hairstyle, without the crusty feel. It does initially leave a slightly greasy appearance to your hair but that seems to go away as the product sets in. I advise melting it a bit on the back of your hand first as the pomade is quite firm. Also, don’t be put off by the colour as it brushes in clear. Pomade scent: Not a bad scent in my opinion, however I think it is far too strong. When I buy a pomade it is to style my hair with, not to add a smell to my hair. I don’t want to smell it over my shampoo and conditioner, and I certainly don’t want to smell it over my perfume as I can with this. Due to the fragrance I won’t be buying this again and I probably won’t even finish the pot I purchased. Now that I have a short lob, all I use is a thickening spray and styling creme (with heat protectant) when my hair is wet and then I use a very small amount of this pomade after I curl my hair. This pomade gives me that piecey look for an effortlessly undone look. After my hair is dry it takes 5 min to curl and run this into my hair and I’m ready to go. I don’t even need a texturizing spray or hair spray when I use this pomade. I rub a small amount in between my fingers before rubbing it onto my ends or other areas where I want texture, hold, and a piecey look. I tried salt sprays, texturizing sprays, and many other products before finally landing on this stuff and it makes my mornings so much easier. Please ignore the top picture. I looked and scanned, but the product I was looking for is not on here. The product below is a shining hair pomade. It’s clear, and molds and keeps hair in place. It doesn’t have much of a fragrance. What I could smell is very light and pleasant. A little bit goes a long way too. It’s water based, so it doesn’t leave a film and it washes out easily. I recently had to completely GI Jane my hair due to horrible bleach damage and hair falling out in clumps . So now it’s grown back and I can do a kinda faux hawk look with this stuff . I love the smell and no shine and has just enough grip and hold . Also nice it’s water soluble when you shampoo . I’ve tried others but nothing compares to this brand . Great job . This stuff has a pretty good hold with some flexibility. Basically a descent clay for short to medium length hair. It boasts natural ingredients which is a game changer for some folks who are balding or whatever and don’t want chemicals in your hair. Cons: Does not wash out without shampoo. I have to wash my hands like two or even three times with soap to get this stuff out of my hands so imagine how hard it is to get out of your hair. That can be a deal breaker for some people. I only use it on special occasions like weekends or going out. Overall: I wouldn’t recommend this product to people. There are better high end clays for similar price like Kevin Murphy Rough Rider or Bluu Maan cavalier and my personal favorite Hans De Fuko Claymation which is water based and washes out completely without even needing soap/shampoo.Andre H.
To begin with, using only four ingredients in the Jack Henry Clay, whose properties, including organic MCT coconut oil in the new formula, is a big plus for me. Scooping out, you need to use the back of the thumb initially, but after a couple of rounds, it is no longer necessary. Emulsifying in the hands and applying to the hair is easy, with no issues regarding stickiness. Concerning the shine factor, it did lean more to a low shine with a medium hold on the first application. However, by the second day, I noticed that the shine factor was pure matte with a medium/strong hold. Also, my hair felt thicker with more luster as well. The washout was no effort at all. One to two rounds of shampoo did the trick for me. Overall, my hair looks and feels healthier with the continued use of this product. I believe this is due to the healing properties of the ingredients: organic coconut oil, bentonite clay, organic beeswax, and organic French lavender oil. These components do wonders for hair strength, growth, and quality. Two additional pluses are a mild scent, primarily small notes of lavender; and NO use of phenoxyethanol or other preservatives. With only four ingredients in the formulation, the old adage "less is more" truly applies! In conclusion, I will continue to use the Jack Henry Clay as it is, based on my experience with other products, the best hair clay currently on the market. It may be considered a little pricey, but you are paying for a high-quality product that lasts a while, so I encourage everyone if they can to give the Jack Henry Clay a try.Charles
While I usually keep a matte water based pomade alongside an beeswax based pomade like Reuzel, I'm excited to add a third option after using this Jack Henry hair clay. It's definitely very textured, as in you feel that clay / mineral vibe when you first warm it up in your palms before applying, and it def gives you that feeling of a product that's doing something positive to your hair both from a styling and hair care perspective, Even after rinsing your hands post application, my palms feel soft and slightly moisturized so bonus. Understandably this could fall into a premium price point but I'd recommend anyone at least give it a try, particularly if you have short to medium length hair. Cheers!K S.

I purchased this pomade from the amazon app. This pomade works well to condition and moisturize my scalp and hair… it smells great and makes my hair look great. I love this product. My Mom used it on my hair when I was a child and I still use it as an adult. I have natural 4B hair and this product looks in the moisture on my hair. It is excellent hair protector in the winter, a bit too heavy for the summer. Not expensive, and smells great.c.b
The product, Dax Pomade, is effective in reducing hair breakage and on continuous use eradicates hair breakage almost completely, at a rough guess 98% reduction. At least, this has been my experience and I would recommend the product to anyone with hair breaking issues.
