I just tried this out to style my old school crew cut. I find that it leaves my hair looking and feeling much more natural, smooth and shiny than the water based pomades. It's also really nice that it's reworkable throughout the day. Also, like everything suavecito makes…it smells amazing! Like everything in life, there are trade offs. As many have mentioned, this stuff does take a while to wash out even for me with a relatively short crew cut (about 1 to 1.5inches on top). I'd imagine the longer your hair, the more challenging it'd be to wash out.Tom
Amazing pomade my son has thick hair and I was first using the cremo pomade however after some months it was no longer holding his hair up and I searched for a new one and landed on this one. All I can say is that it’s AMAZING it hold his hair up in the style that he loves and leaves a shiny wet look on him if that’s what he wants if not he just combs it and the shine diminishes for a more natural look. I have been using this product for years (4-5 years). I have thick hair, and the strong hold was really the best. There is nothing "strong" about this product any longer, it has changed…why? It used to be thick and actually strong, not too shiny just perfect. Now it doesn't hold my thick hair in place, and just running your finger through the tub, you can tell it has changed, it's more like the original hold now. I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. It's tough looking for hair product that's natural and good on the body. While I enjoy a majority of the Badger products, this one needs a little more work on it. A lot of the reviews here are pretty much the same; a little more hold is desperately needed. A little beeswax is needed for a firmer hold. Also, water solubility is a problem as well. It's a bit oily at times when washing it from your hair; sometimes two washes are needed to clean up. Overall, the product does it job; smells great, holds but could hold a bit tighter. I bought this product for my husband. He has short, soft hair type. His favourite hair cream is discontinued so I got this one for the replacement. Having good ingredients and beautiful smell but… My husband didn't like it very much because it comes off and goes into his eyes. Too runny than textured wax type cream side. I have cut my hair into a super short shaved pixie. I hadn't had short hair in a very long time so my stylist suggested this. It works great. My hair is never stiff but yet it holds it in place. If I lay my head down or put my glasses on my head at work and my hair flattens in an area, all I need to do is run my fingers through it and it reshapes easily. I use this pomade everyday. My hair is short and I love the look of an "overgrown" pixie. This stuff gives me just the right texture, piecy hold, and shine. It's flexible, so if I play with my hair throughout the day, it moves but isn't sticky. Because it's water-based, it rinses off hands easily and shampoos out quickly. I use about a dime-size amount, maybe a tiny less, daily and the jar lasts a good six months. The scent is arguably "manly," but it really doesn't make your hair smell. I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. There is also some Murray's-like buildup after a few days that takes a couple shampoos to get out.Long C.
Suavecito is the best smelling pomade hands down. I use this particularly for work and it holds well all day. I have a gentleman’s cut combover and makes my cut look 10/10. This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. Suavecito is the best smelling pomade hands down. I use this particularly for work and it holds well all day. I have a gentleman’s cut combover and makes my cut look 10/10. This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. I was really unsure how this would work for me and concerned that it would feel sticky or greasy on my hair, but I am very pleased with the results so far! I started with a very small amount and warmed it on my fingertips and gingerly began playing with my style. I don't usually leave reviews but this is such an awesome product that I think will help out a lot of people. The clay pomade has a nice, strong hold but doesn't feel crunchy. It's really easy to apply and style, and the matte finish is perfect for people who have wavy hair (the more shine you have on wavy hair, the more your hair just looks wet). After a long search and buying many different products, this is the one that I really wanted. If used in moderation, the hair will still have the natural look, without being too slick or too wet, while the hold is reasonable. It is not the strongest hold, but that is also not what I needed. Please ignore the top picture. I looked and scanned, but the product I was looking for is not on here. The product below is a shining hair pomade. It’s clear, and molds and keeps hair in place. It doesn’t have much of a fragrance. What I could smell is very light and pleasant. A little bit goes a long way too. It’s water based, so it doesn’t leave a film and it washes out easily. I found this on Amazon for $18. But this was sent to me directly from the product warehouse. The brand is Fibertech and it’s called Lady pomp. I would recommend it.dina.h

I liked the styling clay but wanted a bit more hold. This pomade does that. It doesn't have as prominent of a mint smell as the clay, which is too bad, but it doesn't smell bad either (it smells basically like nothing). It dries more stiffly than the clay pomade and leaves the hair feeling like it has product in it (kind of hard and crackly to the touch). The clay pomade left my hair feeling softer and less like it had product in it. In an ideal world, I'd love a product halfway between these two, with the hold of the texturizing pomade and the other features of the clay pomade. But for now, this one does the job!Thomas L.

Over lockdown I grew my hair out like a lot of people and decided to go to for a traditional barber cut afterwards ending up with a slick back style. I found my existing hair products a bit lacking so decided to look into getting more professional (if you will) products. After some research I liked the look of Uppercut's products and also their brand ideals and after browsing their site settled on the Matte Pomade. Now that I've been using it for a while and figured out the best amount and application for my hair I'm really pleased with it. It's light and not too shiny giving my hair a natural look which I really like. It also washes out well with water meaning I don't have to put my hair through shampooing every day but still working without making my hair greasy or limp a couple of days after shampooing. I do find I need to hold the sides with some hairspray but that could be down to my hair or inexperience in styling longer hair (any plans for adding hairspray to your range?). Just on a side note, I was sent a really handy little guide with the product that gave scores out of 10 for hold and shine for all the styling products which was much more helpful than the info on the site in my opinion. Seems quite effective in adding volume for men with a finer hair type and looking for a product that does that. Could be re-applied intra-day if desired or needed, as it is to be applied to dry hair rather than wet. I would say this also means it doesn't really combine or work very well if you try to add it after using another styling product (say you wanting it just to add more volume for example). It functions more as a standalone product from what I've found. Because it has a less firm hold it should work well for those after something to allow a looser natural-looking style and adding volume at the same time, less so for those who want a style that needs a more controlled styling product with a firmer hold to pull off.Luke

I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. Its aroma is quite similar to Fiber and its performance is what I would imagine a light gold version of that product to be. This would be great for medium to coarse hair in short styles that seek natural control without the need for major sculpting or manipulating. Spiffy is truly an understatement. I have used many pomade from different brands Axe, Got2Be, and Generic brands as well. I like this pomade because its functional, smooth, and easy to apply. The smell is great, the wash is easy, and the feeling during the day doesn't make you itch or greasy. The only reason i didn't give this a full five stars is because the scent is not strong enough. After maybe an hour or two the scent is completely gone. I would prefer it to have a hint of the scent the entire day. The quality to me is really the best i have use thus far. This is a good product that keeps your hair coiffed without the dreaded crackly helmet-head. While the hold is not very strong (there are other products in the Old Spice line that are better suited for willful hair), it's perfect for gently coercing your hair into a neat look. I typically use it right after the shower when my hair is wet as that seems to work the best for me. Smell-wise, I'll admit it's not my favorite. I haven't found it comparable to any of the other smells in the Old Spice line-up but it's alright. I've been told it smells great by others though.The one downside I've discovered while using this is it tends to dry out my hair pretty badly. I recently bought American Crew Fiber Cream 3.3 oz (not the first time via Walmart online)but this time the bottle had some transparent and very liquid substance inside instead of a creamy fiber texture. This stuff has a pretty good hold with some flexibility. Basically a descent clay for short to medium length hair. It boasts natural ingredients which is a game changer for some folks who are balding or whatever and don’t want chemicals in your hair. Cons: Does not wash out without shampoo. I have to wash my hands like two or even three times with soap to get this stuff out of my hands so imagine how hard it is to get out of your hair. That can be a deal breaker for some people. I only use it on special occasions like weekends or going out. Overall: I wouldn’t recommend this product to people. There are better high end clays for similar price like Kevin Murphy Rough Rider or Bluu Maan cavalier and my personal favorite Hans De Fuko Claymation which is water based and washes out completely without even needing soap/shampoo.Andre H.
To begin with, using only four ingredients in the Jack Henry Clay, whose properties, including organic MCT coconut oil in the new formula, is a big plus for me. Scooping out, you need to use the back of the thumb initially, but after a couple of rounds, it is no longer necessary. Emulsifying in the hands and applying to the hair is easy, with no issues regarding stickiness. Concerning the shine factor, it did lean more to a low shine with a medium hold on the first application. However, by the second day, I noticed that the shine factor was pure matte with a medium/strong hold. Also, my hair felt thicker with more luster as well. The washout was no effort at all. One to two rounds of shampoo did the trick for me. Overall, my hair looks and feels healthier with the continued use of this product. I believe this is due to the healing properties of the ingredients: organic coconut oil, bentonite clay, organic beeswax, and organic French lavender oil. These components do wonders for hair strength, growth, and quality. Two additional pluses are a mild scent, primarily small notes of lavender; and NO use of phenoxyethanol or other preservatives. With only four ingredients in the formulation, the old adage "less is more" truly applies! In conclusion, I will continue to use the Jack Henry Clay as it is, based on my experience with other products, the best hair clay currently on the market. It may be considered a little pricey, but you are paying for a high-quality product that lasts a while, so I encourage everyone if they can to give the Jack Henry Clay a try.Charles
While I usually keep a matte water based pomade alongside an beeswax based pomade like Reuzel, I'm excited to add a third option after using this Jack Henry hair clay. It's definitely very textured, as in you feel that clay / mineral vibe when you first warm it up in your palms before applying, and it def gives you that feeling of a product that's doing something positive to your hair both from a styling and hair care perspective, Even after rinsing your hands post application, my palms feel soft and slightly moisturized so bonus. Understandably this could fall into a premium price point but I'd recommend anyone at least give it a try, particularly if you have short to medium length hair. Cheers!K S.

Please ignore the top picture. I looked and scanned, but the product I was looking for is not on here. The product below is a shining hair pomade. It’s clear, and molds and keeps hair in place. It doesn’t have much of a fragrance. What I could smell is very light and pleasant. A little bit goes a long way too. It’s water based, so it doesn’t leave a film and it washes out easily. I found this on Amazon for $18. But this was sent to me directly from the product warehouse. The brand is Fibertech and it’s called Lady pomp. I would recommend it.dina.h

This is a gel-cream consistency styling product from Davines. It smells phenomenal, same as all Davines products. The product itself offers soft, flexible hold and some smoothing. My hair is a 2c texture and this is excellent for New York’s humid summer days. I don’t think it reinvents the wheel, but it is a very high quality product. Bonus: Davines doesn’t test on animals (to my knowledge).
Bruh. I adore this product! Way better/more effective than the texture spray. It also has a more pleasing scent. I part my hair in about 4 different places, sprinkle a dab of this at the root, and work it in with my fingers. This transforms from a powder to a gritty gel-like substance. It gives me tremendous volume and texture. It also lasts for a few days afterwards, acting somewhat like a dry shampoo. I tried something like this from Aveda but I prefer this one.emma.a
Normally use the Davines moulding clay but thought id give this wax a go. Might be a good product for others but i'll be sticking to the clay. This wax left my hair feeling a little more oily than i'd want it and hold is not as strong. If you're after the mattest look then i'd recommend the clay over this.Pawel R.
