5/5 Out of the shower Actually quite satisfying watching all the hairs fall off my legs. Quite flawless performance when it comes to out of the shower experience. This CUTS, mows down every single hair you can see. 1/5 In the shower The hair will stick to your body and that will make it harder to actually shave those hairs. Ended up nicking my armpit multiple times with this too. 3/5 For noise This is loud, like you can hear it from a room and maybe 2 rooms away. Everyone in the house will know you're shaving yourself. 4/5 Shaving length It's like 1mm of hair left on the legs so it's not perfect but it's still amazing for an electric shaver. Overall 3/5 I would use this more often but it's both noisy and hard to use in the shower. Other than those 2 gripes, it performs well everywhere else. I was shaving in the shower for 30 minutes and another 10 minutes out of the shower, it still has juice left to use. I recently got the Philips Norelco Bodygroom, a two in one trimmer and shaver. It must be said, up front, that this is a ***body*** hair trimmer and shaver… intended for your back, shoulders, chest, abs, underarm, arms, groin and legs. OOB, you get the two in one body hair trimmer/shaver, a cleaning brush, a proprietary charger, instructions, and a registration pamphlet. I am a hairy guy. Not quite sasquatch level, but not too far off, at least according to my wife. I have coarse hair also. It takes a pretty powerful shaver/trimmer to tame what I have going on. The short version is that the Philips Norelco Bodygroom has what it takes to get the job done, but please read on. You get a four-way contouring/pivoting shaver that first cuts your hair (with pre-cut blades on either side of the foil) and then foil shaves it down. I typically trim my chest, etc. with an adjustable trimmer head to a little over a 1/4 inch. But, for the purpose of this review, I charged the bodygroom (the green LED blinked while charging and turned solid green when done) and tried the foil shaver on the upper portion of my chest, to give the area shape. It did a great job. Close, smooth, exact… and no nicks. Note that you do not need to put a lot of pressure on the Bodygroom as you move it across your body. The way that the housing is ergonomically shaped (with a non-slip housing) is perfectly positioned to give you the right amount of pressure and surface drag. And, this was a dry shave. Yes, there was some irritation as a result of the dry shave, but that’s to be expected… and the irritation went away pretty quickly. For the remainder of my body hair, I used the adjustable trimmer head. The trimmer head offers 5 trim lengths, ranging from 1/8” (3mm) to 7/16” (11mm). It includes a guard that is easy to adjust with one finger, as well as self-sharpening blades. I had my wife take care of my back (my first time doing that, for which she was very happy). In the shower, shower off, I took care of my arm pits, chest, and other areas. There were instances where the hair “clogged” the trimmer guard, but I haven’t had a trimmer guard yet where that didn’t happen. Turn it over, shake it off, keep soldiering through. Easy enough. After cleaning up the shag carpet on the shower floor, so as not to block up my drain, I then showered and, with the water running (and given the Bodygroom is “showerproof”/water-resistant – but don’t submerge it (e.g., in a bathtub or sink), of course), took another go. At no point (dry or wet) was there an instance when there was a pinch or pull due to the trimmer blades. The self-sharpening trimmer blade was key here. My one gripe about the use of the Bodygroom was that there were instances where I could feel “drag” from the trimmer guard across more sensitive areas. It wasn’t unbearable. And, after a little I was able to learn how to maneuver to avoid the drag. But, this isn’t my first rodeo with body hair trimmers. Yet, this was the first guard with which I experienced the issue. After all was said and done, I dried the Bodygroomer, removed the trimmer guard, popped off the blade head, and cleaned the Bodygroom using the included brush. Super easy. According to the specs, the lithium ion battery in the Bodygroomer takes an hour to charge and offers 80 minutes of use. After a full charge, I used it for about 40 minutes total. It didn’t bog down once. I did recharge it before storing it and will likely charge it again before use, as I tend to go a little bit between “grooming” sessions. Other than keeping this thing clean, there’s no other maintenance. No oiling, no blade sharpening… nothing. Also, Philips Norelco offers a 5-year warranty. The manufacturer does make replacement shaving foil heads and shaving foil head cleaning spray, so just how long the foil head will last remains to be seen. A few minor bones to pick. You cannot use this device while you are charging it – but, given you’re likely to use it in the shower, with the shower running… not being able to charge it while using it is likely a good thing. In addition, I wish it came with a case that held the Bodygroom, the charger, and the brush. I’ll likely end up throwing it in an oversized zipper sandwich bag but a travel bag would’ve been a very solid addition. So, worth buying? Absolutely. For the reasons provided above, the Philips Norelco Bodygroom is a solid four star purchase and worth every penny. It’s ergonomic, easy to handle, provides two cutting surfaces (a foil shaver with pre-cutting blades and an easy to clean trimmer with self-sharpening blades and a 5-position adjustable guard), and thanks to those cutting surfaces gives you the versatility needed to shave your back, shoulders, chest, abs, underarm, arms, groin and legs. It holds a great charge and has enough power to make short work (see what I did there) of coarse body hair with zero problems. I wish it came with a travel bag, but c’est la vie. While the trimmer works well, I've owned it less than a year and a comb broke as there made of light weight plastic. Their website does not show replacement combs for sale and no phone number is anywhere to contact them other than email. If they would just list these parts this review would not be negative. Honestly, I have been looking for a good trimmer for the “below the belt” region forever! I am glad to report, that this is it. This does exactly what it claims. It perfectly trims those hard to reach and sensitive areas. Really well thought-out design and blade strength. 10/10 would recommend for the boys.David

I want to love all of the manscaped so bad. What I do love, is the blade and how it does not Knick or cut you. I’m a woman, I use it and my husband uses it and we both like that feature.
That is the only reason why it’s getting 1 star and not 5.

What is REALLY lame about the rest of it is the battery life and speed/ability to cut through course hair. It takes about 5+ hours to charge, and once it is charged you have about 2 mins of usage until the motor slows down and your battery life light is back to red. And yes I did actually time it all. SUPER LAME!!

Thing worked fine for a while, until it sliced my coin purse open. The “skinsafe” cutting head sliced me open like a razor knife. Wrote to customer service about it, their response was to offer a replacement head. Thanks but no thanks.
Then my trimmer became possessed. It would turn itself on and off randomly. It woke me up one night buzzing away after it had jumped off the counter onto the tile floor. I turned it off only to have it turn back on again seconds later. Tried plugging it into the charger, no dice. Still turned itself on. So I took the head off it and left it in the sink bowl so it couldn’t damage anything else.
Customer service offered a free replacement. I accepted and gave my mailing address. They sent me a replacement CUTTING HEAD. FOR THE TRIMMER I CANT EVEN USE ANYMORE.

It stopped working after less than 15 uses. I use it as intended, but also on my head if my fuzz gets to long for a Bic. First of all, I think a handheld Bic is safer, iv cut myself dozens of with this, and second it broke after a dozen of so uses. It is supposed to under warranty, but when I emailed I said if it's not covered under warranty and this is the quality of product I can expect, I wish to cancel all subscriptions. They canceled all subscriptions. Just shows that they don't even stand behind their own product.michael walker

I am a 75 year old woman and I have trouble raising my arms to groom my hair between cuts. My hair is short and layer cut – almost as short as a man. This worked really well. I am a woman who had been going to a barber since 2019, as I wear my hair extremely short, funky, shaved. Unfortunately then there was the coronavirus, so I did not get my hair done for 15 months! Now we have the Delta variant, so I contacted my barber that I was going to put off getting my hair cut for a while. Needless to say, I could tell he was not happy. This trimmer is powerful. It handles the corners like it's on rails! It glides effortlessly over the hairiest parts without so much as a howdie doo. It cuts close and even better, it doesn't take much time. I don't know who at Ballsy was responsible for this mystical hair destroyer, maybe magical unicorns on the island of smooth, but it's fantastic. I got the B & B Trimmer for my husband for our wedding anniversary which was on August 29th. He has tried it several times now but unfortunately does not like it because, "It does not give me a close enough shave." He's been using a razor for years which he says gives him a much closer shave. I didn't realize when I ordered it for him that the return period was only 30 days. I want to thank you All at Ballsy for creating this trimmer for me!!!! Once I charged it up I couldn't wait to give it try because I had a lot of hair there that I was aoo ready to get rid of. I uses it bedwetting in the shower and I have to say that it was not only easy to grip it was formed to move nicely along on ……area with no concerns of nicks and snagging of hair. I must admit I would get nervous and scared to run anything along my private areas that had a blade and motorized. I really love this shaver. After watching many positive review videos and my old shaver died, I bought this and am really impressed. You can shave with or without shaving gel/cream. The shaver gets close but not as close as other shavers, however it is more than close enough for a professional work environment. The biggest plus is that it is extremely safe, and I have been using for over a month and not one skin irritation or nick. Works great on scalp for shaving head also. Is a little slower than shaving with a regular multiblade razor and not as close, but much safer and no shaving cream needed.MojoBBQ

This is the second OneBlade I have owned. As a stand alone, this is a good trimmer, especially for shorter length trimming. I like most of the new design, especially that the handle is slimmer with a better grip. However when compared to the last model, it falls short in allowable max trimming length and ease of adjustment. The reason is due to the rotating blade head. This new feature is not bad to have, though with the narrow blade, I've never felt the need for it. The rotation doesnt allow for a cap like the previous model, which had a simple dial to adjust length, all the way up to 9. This blade has an attachment which you need to rotate with your thumb. It's not the smoothest or easiest operation. It goes up to 5mm, which isn't bad for a face trimmer, but less than the previous. Overall, this is a solid trimmer which will get the job done well. I dont feel the blade rotation is better than an easier and longer guard adjustment.Jeremy O

This shaver is very impressive. I charged it for a couple hours and decided to give it a go on my 4 day stubble. It's worked like a dream, gives a very close shave almost as close at a razor, I was so impressed. I judge my razors based on how well i can get nice clean lines on my goatee and sideburns and this passed both tests! My goatee looks great and my sideburn lines are crisp and clean. Everything you need to keep your self groomed is included in this great little package. It's nice and compact and would be perfect to travel with. It's also rechargeable! After all the hype that I read and watched online, I find it difficult to believe that this product is as popular as it appears to be. When you run an electric razor over the same area up to 10 times and your whiskers are all still there…. then there is a problem somewhere. I made sure to apply light pressure and hold the product at the proper angle (as per the instructions) and the the only difference was chaffed skin. This product did even worse on my neck. None of the whiskers were cut and I had what looked (and felt) like burn marks on my throat. This is not the most expensive electric razor on the market, by far. But it's not cheap either. It has a very lightweight "cheap feel" to it. I don't care what a razor looks like, or feels like in my hand. Those are non-issues with me. As long as the product works, I honestly don't care. That being said, this razor is poorly designed. It looks and feels like you're shaving with a 3 1/2 inch section of two-by-four. That and the lackluster color scheme makes this thing about as ugly as my 6th grade English teacher.mr.sleeve

In the barber trade, Andis and Wahl are the big names in clippers shavers. When it comes to tools for finishing fades, the Andis Profoil and Wahl Shaver Shaper are the benchmarks. I bought the Andis because I like the way the shaver blades are staggered. The performance is outstanding. You shave as close as you want. But I'd have to caution anyone using this tool not to bear down hard because you'll be pushing the blades with far too much force against the foil which will wear down the foil and blades prematurely and might even produce a razor burn. Just take it easy and you'll have great results in short order.7373markh

If you’re a bald man with a beard myself then this is a great product to have! This is more of a “finishing” product. All you have to do is get your head down to stubble and and go over it with this and bam no hair left. It’s also great for lining up your beard. The only negative I would have to say is that I tend to go through the foil replacements quite a bit because I use mine so much but you have to realize it’s foil and isn’t made to last forever. I needed a new trimmer\shaver for my beard and body. I decided to give this XT5100 a try and I'm so glad I did! This is the first waterproof shaver I've owned and I didn't realize what I was missing. I save an insane amount of time by using this in the shower for my beard and "manscaping" needs. Typical trimmers may be acceptable for facial use but when used on other body parts they can cut, scrape or grab and pull hair which is not a pleasant experience. Not this Braun XT5100 though! I was extremely impressed with how delicate and smooth this shaves all body parts with none of the painful aftermath. I've always been a Braun customer but with this shaver they have definitely exceeded my expectations! Go out and pick on up today!!Stoopy

I got this trimmer because I like to keep my facial hair short, but struggle with traditional razors and getting in-grown hairs and other irritation. I also don't like shaving every day, and noticed that when my hair grew out after about 3 days it was really hard to shave. This trimmer has blades that can easily cut through longer hair, and also trims down the stubble so that you can get a fairly close shave on your face. I didn't feel it was the closest shave in the world, but I also didn't really want that because it usually leads to in-grown hairs. So far I haven't had any in-grown hairs while using this on my face, which is amazing! It was very simple to set up, and I love that it is rechargeable. The battery has lasted through multiple days of shaving without charging. The guards are all great and give you a lot of options for different lengths depending on what you're trying to do. It's very light-weight and easy to use. The fact that it is so versatile that it can be used on your face or any other part of your body makes it my go-to tool for everything. I WOULD be leaving 5 stars on this, because I absolutely loved my Manscaped trimmer. Until I bought TWO and both broke. Spent around $200 now. First time, bought and loved it. I used it till I died. Then I went to charge it and it lit up for a while, came back and whole thing was dead. I was like damn okay maybe I over charged it or got water in it on accident. Bought a new one. When it died this time I was EXTRA careful. I let it sit out for two days to dry before charging. I only let it charge for 20 minutes at a time. SAME THING HAPPENED. Have used this for almost a year now and really love it. The battery life is super long. The LED light is an essential, you know downstairs isn't always well lit. Waterproof is perfection, why get hair on your floor when you can let it go down the drain. The guards are essential, virtually impossible to cut yourself with one in place. It fits my hand perfectly and is surprisingly lightweight. The charger stand (wireless charging) uses a standard USB-C connector, so no worries if you lose the adapter included. Charging is fast and easy, The concept of a separate trimmer for upstairs beard and another for downstairs just makes too much sense. So if you are going for smooth look – the Manscaped razor is fantastic and works perfectly. However, unless the hair is about 1/4 inch or less, the razor plugs up really fast. The mower takes care of that. Pre-trim with the mower, then hit it with the razor. Overall, this thing is a great tool, designed for a very specific purpose.BinkyBarns

The lawn mower 4.0 touts ceramic skin safe blades that don’t cut or knick the skin. Completely false claim. Every single time I trim downstairs I get cut multiple times. The trimmer DOES NOT trim as close to the skin as they claim. A $20 Norelco trimmer actually trims closer to the skin. I can use the lawn mower & follow up with the Norelco & still trim shorter than the lawn mower by itself. Your trim area has to be silky smooth before u use this lawn mower or it will catch the skin every time without fail & cut you. Every time. Manscaped products are amazing for what they’re designed for. The lawn mower is a nice trimmer. It just doesn’t trim as close as they claim & it will cut your skin. Their claims on their website are just a sales pitch bullshit claim. They know it doesn’t trim to the skin. They know the damn thing will cut you. They know this & they care nothing about it. Just shut your mouth, spend $100 on the trimmer & you will believe what we tell you. I’d provide pics if they weren’t pics of downstairs. I have 3 cuts right now & still can’t get close to the skin. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. And it's the bee's knees! In the past I've used a shaver or beard trimmer to get rid of and manage unwanted body hair, but the Norelco Bodygroom 3500 is one unit that does a better job all by itself. First and foremost is that it doesn't cut me up like a razor or my beard trimmer does. The Norelco Bodygroom 3500 has rounded cutting trimmer tips so they do not stab you! I feel this is the main selling point of the Norelco Bodygroom 3500 and why it is superior to the alternatives. It cuts very well when dry (the cutting head is a combo trimmer and shaver), but when the hair is wet (it can be used in the shower) it takes a few passes to capture the hair. That's just the nature of water. It works best on hair under an inch long if you want to shave at skin level. To cut hair down to size but not shave off completely use the included trimmer guards that snap on. The Norelco Bodygroom 3500 is lightweight, comfortable to hold and not too noisy. To shave hard to reach areas it comes with a folding detachable extended handle. Click the Bodygroom in and now shaving your back is possible. Some control and shaving efficiency suffers while using the extended handle but without it some people might not be able to reach all areas. Also, the end of the extended handle does not have any rubber grip on it and becomes 'slippery when wet'. So, I put a few strips of skateboard grip tape on it which was helpful. One thing I didn't like was the charge only lasted an hour. There's a low battery light indicator but it was still hard to gauge when the charge would run out. It charges quickly (30 min for half charge) but when I'm rushing in the morning it still is not fast enough. I wish it had a screen showing battery charge percentage or how many minutes are left. What I ended up doing was to basically charge it after each time I used it. It does not work while plugged in (it only charges) to prevent you from using it in the shower while it is plugged in. This is a good safely feature, but being the battery is not user replaceable, when the battery dies (as all do) you'll need to buy a new unit. The rubber membrane over the on/off button feels a bit thin and I can see it tearing after heavy usage. It'll still work but it won't be water resistant anymore. The Norelco Bodygroom 3500 is great for daily or weekly use on all (even private) areas of the body. I did not experience any skin irritation and it is an easy to use. Of course, don't use it on a sunburned area of the body, guess how I figured that one out… I use it almost every day for quick touch ups which barely take any time. I'm never going back to my prehistoric ways again!SmoothSkin

I used the Norelco body groomer 3000 model for many years, and it never disappointed. When it finally died, I upgraded to the groomer 5000, and I have to say, it blew me away! So much better than the 3000 in every way. The quick charge fully charges it in an hour, and provides an hour of continuous use. It cutie the hair great! Even when I let the hair grow long, it easily cuts through the hair, leaving my skin smooth. Also, it’s great to shave “down there” as it doesn’t scratch or damage the skin. I received my new (and free) Norelco Bodygroom 3500 on 6/28/18 in exchange for my unbiased review. Initially I was disappointed when I started using the product, as it became apparent that depending on body hair type results may vary. That being said, being freshly clean will improve results, as will keeping up with `maintenance`. I tried the attachments/guards, it came with 3 at different sizes. Perhaps they would work better on course/stiff (and clean) hair, or maybe shorter hair as I quickly found them difficult to use on areas of my body that had long soft, oily, fluffy hair. So for the effectiveness of the supplied guards, results may vary depending on… you. Without the guard this tool is awesome. It cuts hair like a hot knife through butter and with no nicks, no bruising, no gashes/etc. On a few areas I would typically slow down to make sure I don`t amputate anything, but this machine`s built-in safety guard holds no bounds… similar to using an electric razor just mow everything away, not quite haphazard, or WOT, but pretty close. This alone helped shave (lol pun) about 5 mins off this part of my routine, easily. Plus no burn, and no bleeding & worrying about crazy infections in crazy places; this alone makes the item worth it for me. The added bonus of the extension/attachment makes the hard to reach areas easier with less pre-stretching involved. Basically I can now reach that one area on my back without any warm-up exercises. Clicks in and out of the attachment easily. A little bulky, but seems sturdy enough that it would last several accidental falls in the bathroom from my clumsy hands. Cleaning is a breeze. The whole unit is waterproof and the head is easily dissembled for ease of access. It may be helpful if you have small fingers though since the guard/foil is dainty and may be kind of small for big hands/fingers to remove, maintain and clean. Overall I do believe this item will be the perfect replacement for my normal clippers, as well as a perfect replacement for my cheapo pen style personal trimmer. Cuts better and easier, and the guard works a lot better. Nothing worse than a company praying you don’t read the smaller text. I was unfortunate enough to buy in store to find out that the 100% waterproof is only for cleaning. Very annoying- but maybe passable if its use was good? Absolutely not. This is my first experience with a Braun razor. I wear a beard, but still need to keep my neck & cheeks nice and neat. I shaved with a hand razor for years, it was fine. I was interested in a foil razor, but wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep my definition lines on my face without destroying them. However, a friend of mine who also sports a beard has used a Braun for years, no issues. For the price I paid for this razor, I thought I'd try. Not sure why this little razor isn't getting more love, maybe people just don't know how to shave. It works darn good. I can shave closer & faster than I can with a blade, no irritation, and it does not destroy my beard lines. I can't imagine how good your expensive models shave, this little guy works well. Only wish I could use with a cord, but that's not a deal breaker. Don't ignore this razor!mike6000

There was nothing at all to dislike about this product. I found it to be an amazing piece of machinery. You see I have Parkinson's disease. It eventually became impossible for me to use standard blade razor because I could not twist my wrist to the angles needed to save the contours of my face at the jawline on the sides of my face. This razor is lightweight definitely waterproof and easily glides over all the contours of my face with its pivoting blades. Or I also like to point out that it was easy for me to hold because of the texture of the outside casing of the razor itself you see I have no strength in my hands either. I promise that this razor gives just as close a shave as a standard triple Blade razor.Philip

Another great rotary in Philips' lineup. This series does solve the issue of many complaints regarding the detachable trimmer and heads of other Philips shavers – it has the traditional flip-top head and pop-up trimmer. This adds to the bulk of the shaver, body and head, but precludes having to keep track of a separate trimmer and remove the head for cleaning, and it works reasonably well, although for me the trimmer isn't quite as effective as the SmartClick attachments for the Series 9000 shavers. The ComfortGlide Rings really are effective, and provide a frictionless shave, although in this model they are slightly larger than the Anti-Friction rings of the S7940 for example, and require some maneuvering to get around tight areas. The Quick Clean pods use the same cleaning solution as the SmartClean cartridges for the SmartClean stations, which is excellent for cleaning and lubricating the shaver. The Quick Clean Pod is unpowered however, and uses the shaver's power, reducing it by about 1 percent per cleaning, although on a positive note doesn't require cords or cables and is more compact – actually usable for travel. The GroomTribe app is the Achilles Heel of all these Bluetooth shavers, and in particular this model (S7782), because there's no information regarding this particular shaver – the app seems exclusively to recognize only the S7940 shaver. On the plus side, the S7782 will connect, and it does record the shaving time and the percentage of rotation (which improves shaving efficiency), although the motion sensor algorithm in the shaver appears not to recognize the correct rotational movement about half the time. The good news is you don't actually need the app, and this shaver has an LED screen that provides all the essential information about the shaver, including battery life, cleaning information and the previously mentioned inaccurate rotation statistics. The shaving heads (SH71/52) only have a single cutting ring, but actually are comfortable and provide a very close shave. Overall, an excellent rotary from Philips, that provides a close, comfortable shave, warts and all, with the potential to improve with software updates to the app. Recommended.S7782

The Norelco S7000 is a very great shaver and I do recommend this electric shaver to all men especially men with sensitive skin which I have and I’m 50 years old and I have been searching for a shaver electric or not and it will not make my neck red or razor bumps. The reason why I’m giving my purchase review is because it came with a defective battery it won’t hold a charge for that long as Norelco says that it should. So I contacted the manufacture and told them of this and they mailed me a replacement shaver of the same type and the replacement does hold a charge unlike the first one that I bought. And if you have sensitive scan on your neck and when you shave you get a red neck from a razor and bumps then you really need to buy either the S7000 or the S9000 cause I can shave dry and I get awesome results and no redness or bumps and you would want to get the electric Norelco shaver that you can clean it using a cleaning pod. I will never go back to razor’s ever again and when I have wore it out I will buy another one. I did buy the S9000 because it comes with double the blades but either electric shaver will give you a very smooth clean shave.Baylein

I grew up with and have used Norelco rotary shavers and body groom tools all my adult life. My old one, probably close to 20 years now, still works but there is no availability of replacement heads anymore and some wear finally. This is an excellent shaver and I am very happy I got it. I considered the 3000 and 5000 series, but 3000 seems to use lower end heads, and while the 5000 uses the same as this, the hard travel case is essential to me and purchased as a separate accessory brings the cost close enough that it was worth it to just get the higher end kit. The shave is great; I haven't yet tried out the cleaning pod. The shaver cleans very well under running water following the instructions. I also have some extras from my previous Philips/Norelco products that I use with this, such as combs, cleaning brushes and a spare charger.Chris_P

I have used non electric back shavers before and they were worthless. After reviewing this Mangroomer pro cordless on many forums I purchased this at a great Walmart low price. It's well designed, good grip with rubberized handle. It's rechargeable cordless design is great and it works great. With the multiple angles of the extension handle I was easily able to get every nook and cranny of my back hair, shoulders, with ease. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs to keep your whole body trimmed.Tonyzany23

I am not new to using a small clipper. I so I think I know what I am talking about. I was shocked how cheep it felt in my hand. Seems like it has no real strength to it. I truly wonder how long it will last. Be sure to never drop it, or it will be gone. It did trim the hair off my back, but then my back hair is very fine. And I did manage to scrap myself up a bit too. Another thing I was shocked about, when it's is on charge, it wont run. So when the batteries die you cant just plug it in and keep using it. And you cant take it apart to put in new ones. But that do tell you how to take out the circuit board with the batteries on it to toss it out. For what I paid for it I thought it would be much better. So I will use it till it goes and then get the cheaper one. All it really is, is the edge trimmer on an electric shaver on a stick. If you have one, you know how they last. Be sure to keep it oiled and clean it every time you use it…. One last thing, it does work me, but I just wonder for how long…..2011jakecarl

I bought one of these a while ago and it was excellent. Rechargeable and solidly built. And it made short work of my hairy back making me no longer looking like I had escaped from the zoo. Alas it got blunt over the years and on seeing the price of the replacement blades it made good sense to order a brand new replacement. I thought I was buying the same again but this new Mangroomer is a pale imitation. Made by the same company and costing the same it's a far inferior product. It's much lighter and has no real weight to it making it harder to use. The weaker joints mean that it won't stay in position plus it is now battery operated not rechargeable. Luckily I used the cutting blade of the new one to revamp my old one so I'm still not being hassled by zoo keepers.afrocub

I have used Norelco for 45 years. I bought a new one for better blades, but soon found an odd problem… I can shave the left cheek, but when I rotate the unit over for the other side of my face, it slows to a stop. If I rotate it in mid air, it starts and stops over and over again, each time it leans to the right. Even if I take the heads off, it stops when it leans to the right. I think this one was just put together wrong. I've had this one for about 10 months. It worked ok for a month or two, but gradually began slowing and stopping even when fully charged. And the heads spin with the blades until they touch your skin. Also, this battery doesn't last as long as the razor I've been using for 20 years (and still using).Dew Master

I've been using these types of Philips Norelco shavers for many years. This recently purchased shaver is the third one in this series. These are the "low-end" Philips shavers, so I don't expect much other than about 2 to 3 years of use before the blades get dull. The first shaver I got was amazingly good in that it shaved smoothly and as close as a blade, with one or two passes. The second one was not as good, but did the job. This third 2500 model is, by comparison, not good. It takes several passes over the face to cut the stubble and it feels rough on the face. Given that it takes longer to do the job exposed another shortcoming: it has a smaller capacity battery than the older models. This is the first time that my shaver actually ran out of power starting from a full charge. It took about 20 minutes to deplete all the charge. Regression in product design is never a good thing. Next time I’ll be looking for a different brand.Maestro

This shaver has MUCH less power than my old Norelco shaver. It struggles to rotate the blades. The side trimmer is pretty much useless as it doesn't move the blades fast enough to cut. The location of the on/off button makes it easy to accidentally turn it on/off while shaving. It also bumps on easily in a suitcase if anything touches it. The good news is that you can use it while plugged in but then what's the use of a "cordless" shaver.ElCapitan

This was not exactly what I thought I was ordering for him, but he is getting used to it and now he really likes it. Says the battery is lasting a long time, many times being used and still strong. It is small and light weight, so at first it seemed "dinky" but it does a very nice job of keeping his beard at that "day-old" look that I like for him. I have a drawer with three of these that don't work. They were each great when first bought and used, but the third or fourth time it was switched on there was nothing. I changed the battery – nothing. I tried reversing the polarity of the battery installation – nothing. I tried a third battery properly installed – nothing. I have had very short hair for probably 20 years now. There's only so many options you have when your hair decides it doesn't want to grow anymore. As far as I'm concerned, I had two options. I could let it bother me and spend all kinds of money and effort trying to get my hair back in one way or another OR I could go for the military buzz and keep it short. I chose the latter and it's worked out well for me. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, I would have my head buzzed every 10 – 14 days because I like to keep it as short as possible. Even when my hair is long (14 – 28 days without being buzzed), it's not very long at all. It's manageable and able to be easily buzzed. I have a friend who works for SportClips and before the world shut down, I would give her my business every two weeks. She would keep my head buzzed and I would contribute to her career but since that option is currently unavailable, I decided ManGroomer might be a great alternative for me. I thought of ManGroomer because I purchased "THE BACKGROOMER™" awhile back and it works just fine. Unlike the Backgroomer, my experience with the ULTIMATE PRO Self-Haircut Kit was not a good one. The clipper did not cut properly. I used several of the guards, I tried cutting without a guard and I even tried plugging in as opposed to cutting on the battery power thinking I would get more power, but the results were the same in each attempt – painful and ineffective. The clippers pulled my hair as opposed to cutting in all of my attempts. Thankfully, I have a proper set of Wahl brand hair clippers in my closet that I was able to use to shave my head without any issues after the ManGroomer Self-Cutting Kit failed me. The packaging was fantastic. The timeliness of delivery was optimal. When I emailed the company for a return and refund request, they literally returned my email and gave me a refund within minutes. It couldn't have been longer than 10 minutes. I was incredibly impressed by the response. Not only did they issue me a refund but the team encouraged me to try a couple of more times with their product. All aspects other than the actual product itself were flawless on ManGroomer's part. For this reason, I will continue to buy products from ManGroomer because customer service goes a long way with me along with the fact that I bought another one of their products that I've had zero issues with. I'm chalking this up as simply something that didn't work for me. It may work for someone else and despite my negative experience with this particular line of ManGroomer's product, I am not discouraged by the brand and I look forward to using more of their products in the future.J.r. Yes, it works and is a better solution for my back hair than anything else I ever tried (other than having someone else shave my back for me). However, even with the mangroomer, shaving your back is still not the easier thing in the world. I recommend this model over the slightly less expensive one because without the extra foil head I would not have been able to get a close enough shave. Despite being the best product on the market, I'm only giving 4 stars because it appeared to be cheaply made. Used it for the first time today and one of the red lock buttons fell off which wasn't a big deal since I was able to pop it back on, but still shouldn't have happened. Its made in CHINA, so this is expected. If Wahl came out with a similar product made in the America, I would gladly buy it instead even if it was more money.Kevin

I have purchased 2 Mangroomers and after the first I was convinced I was a lifetime customer until this last purchase. The blades no longer cut through my back hair and seem to not be made as quality as they used to be. My first model didn't have a problem going through my forest of hair but now even with the power boost all it does is tug and rip hair out. The overall quality just seems to be downgraded after making such a quality product and gaining good reviews and supporters. I'm highly disappointed that such a good product can't even do the one thing it claims to do, man groom. I will no longer be using this companies products based on the change in blade quality and the inability to cut my back hair.Jefferson H.

I’ve been using the body groomer for years. Works great on my back or hard to reach places. Only reason I’m not giving this a 5 star is that the back attachment breaks. I find myself buying a new body groomer once a year because of this. Philips won’t cover the back extension under their warranty. This is a great groomer but the wear and tear on that back attachment really does take a toll at about the one year mark for me. As I write this I’m ordering a new one. Last one I purchased was a little over a year ago. This time though, I’m buying the 2yr extended warranty that Target offers. I used the Norelco body groomer 3000 model for many years, and it never disappointed. When it finally died, I upgraded to the groomer 5000, and I have to say, it blew me away! So much better than the 3000 in every way. The quick charge fully charges it in an hour, and provides an hour of continuous use. It cutie the hair great! Even when I let the hair grow long, it easily cuts through the hair, leaving my skin smooth. Also, it’s great to shave “down there” as it doesn’t scratch or damage the skin. Basically, there’s nothing bad I can say about the Norelco body groomer 5000!MattyMatt

I received my new (and free) Norelco Bodygroom 3500 on 6/28/18 in exchange for my unbiased review. Initially I was disappointed when I started using the product, as it became apparent that depending on body hair type results may vary. That being said, being freshly clean will improve results, as will keeping up with `maintenance`. I tried the attachments/guards, it came with 3 at different sizes. Perhaps they would work better on course/stiff (and clean) hair, or maybe shorter hair as I quickly found them difficult to use on areas of my body that had long soft, oily, fluffy hair. So for the effectiveness of the supplied guards, results may vary depending on… you. Without the guard this tool is awesome. It cuts hair like a hot knife through butter and with no nicks, no bruising, no gashes/etc. On a few areas I would typically slow down to make sure I don`t amputate anything, but this machine`s built-in safety guard holds no bounds… similar to using an electric razor just mow everything away, not quite haphazard, or WOT, but pretty close. This alone helped shave (lol pun) about 5 mins off this part of my routine, easily. Plus no burn, and no bleeding & worrying about crazy infections in crazy places; this alone makes the item worth it for me. The added bonus of the extension/attachment makes the hard to reach areas easier with less pre-stretching involved. Basically I can now reach that one area on my back without any warm-up exercises. Clicks in and out of the attachment easily. A little bulky, but seems sturdy enough that it would last several accidental falls in the bathroom from my clumsy hands. Cleaning is a breeze. The whole unit is waterproof and the head is easily dissembled for ease of access. It may be helpful if you have small fingers though since the guard/foil is dainty and may be kind of small for big hands/fingers to remove, maintain and clean. Overall I do believe this item will be the perfect replacement for my normal clippers, as well as a perfect replacement for my cheapo pen style personal trimmer. Cuts better and easier, and the guard works a lot better. A great upgrade for anyone with thick body hair that currently uses the puny as seen on TV trimmers, and/or clippers that can be as dangerous as an electric carving knife, which has been terrifying (and emotionally scarring) in the past when I am near my sensitive areas.Charles40

I received this item for free to test and give my unbiased opinions on. I had my teenage son use the Remington WETech Face and Body Grooming Kit. He has sideburns and used just the blade to trim them up. The result was a nice crisp edge line to the sideburn. He also used one of the length guides to trim the hair going up the sideburn. I decided to trim his hair line in the back and got a nice edge to his hair. There was no catching of the skin or heating up of the blades during this process. The clippers are very well made, cordless and water resistant. The trimming combs were easy to put on and take off the trimmer. The multiple trimming heads provide you with a variety of options. The battery life is good and my son only charged it once with light to moderate use when he first took the trimmer out of the packaging. The trimmer is water-proof but he has not yet used it in the shower.EDavis

I am impressed! I purchased this shaver to make it easier to remove hair completely from my male crotch area rather than using a razor and shaving cream alone which caused me to get nicked/cut pretty badly several times. I suggest using the body groomer attachment rather than the full-size trimmer attachment to achieve a male Brazilian by going completely bald in the crotch area, but be careful since I have been nicked three times (not badly) until I got used to using it. I then finish off by using a women's pink Daisy razor with shaving cream. I wish this Remington shaver were AC/DC instead of battery only since eventually the batteries will have to be replaced, I am sure! I just love this grooming kit – it is the most versatile one I've ever seen let alone used! It has so many capabilities I can imagine what you would need that it couldn't do in the grooming realm. First off you can use this anywhere – wet or dry! It charges up so you can take this in the shower! It grooms your face for shaving and it grooms your body – trimming hair wherever you need! I love all the attachments – you can trim your hair and using the attachments your length will be consistent. The blades on the razor are self sharpening, so no need to replace after so many uses, this will conceivably work for years! The quality is there, it feels sturdy and works like a dream. My son uses this for shaving and gets a nice clean shave without any irritation. He also uses this for grooming the short sides of his hair, and has no difficulty switching attachments and it seems to work as well wet or dry and with all the different options. He just loves it. I paid $8 for this at Ross. Figured it was about as cheap as one of those throw away blades. No big loss if it serves no purpose. This thing -isn’t a replacement for old school blades if you want a razor close shave. I use a nice set of wahl hair/beard trimmers on my head and face and use a razor on the face if I want it super smooth. This thing is better for body hair and has a much less aggressive motor and a greater feeling of safety when used in and around sensitive areas. I sample tried on my leg and thigh and was impressed with the smoothness. I tried on my face and I need the power of my $50 wahl. In my teenage or early twenties this thing would have been perfect for a quick no nick face shave that’s super cheap. My girlfriend hasn’t used it yet but she’s excited to try.Tyler Wilson

I was greatly disappointed with this razor on first trial. After reading numerous scathing reviews had given up on the idea that this was a good purchase. I ordered a new blade just to rule out that the original blade was defective. It was not. The new blade was just as bad as the original. I bought this razor last January. Before throwing it away I decided to take one more look at the razor. The body and motor seemed to be well made and the motor is certainly sufficient to cut a hair. Maybe the problem is the blade. My best guess is that the lubricants used in the manufacturing process are not removed after the blade is assembled, and over time and dry into a sticky varnish like coating. I noticed this when trying to move the blade manually. I washed the blade in alcolhol then lubricated it with a light oil.The razor performed very well. Try this. Hope it works for you.
