This product absolutely works. In fact, if you use it daily it will make your hair too dark. Use it daily, then back off to twice a week. Some have complained that it stains your nails. You're absolutely right it does! If hair color is to work, it must dye keratin, which makes up your hair and nails. Throw a rubber glove into the shower and keep it there to use with this stuff. For best results, rub it into dry hair and leave it while you do everything else in the shower. Also, this leaves the aroma of hair dye in your hair, because….. it is hair dye. I suggest hitting your hair with conditioner afterward, or better yet, follow use with a color shampoo that has a pleasant aroma such as Gem Lites brown pearl. (Hair dye like the ControlGX comes out of the bottle white and colors the core of the hair shaft, colored shampoos that come out of the bottle black like Gem Lites color the outside of the hair shaft.) Someone posted to leave the shampoo in for thirty minutes to get good results. Don’t! It is a hair dye with chemicals. You risk damaging your hair and/or irritating your scalp. It is designed to work gradually. If you leave it in too long, you WILL damage your hair. The product is meant to be used as directed and is very effective. I keep my goatee a little long, about an inch on the chin. It was grey/white, with a little black mixed in. I had tried coloring it once in the past and freaked out at the results and shaved it off. So although I was skeptical, I was willing to try a gradual reduction product. It took a couple of washes before I started noticing any change, and yes, the white hair did take on a purplish hue. But I decided to see it through and stayed with it. I even doubled up on washes a few times that first week or so. By the third week, the purplish hue was gone, and I'm left with a natural looking dark color somewhere between really dark brown to black. I love the results and hope this product stays in production. Don't get freaked out by the transition phase. If my buddies had noticed they would have had a blast pointing it out. What I love about this product it is that it's never obvious that you are dying your beard. It does take a while, but it will slowly alter the color. To me, it's just dark enough and subtle enough to look completely natural. Nobody wants to be that guy that has a grey beard on Friday, then shows up Monday morning with a dark beard. It took me several tubes to figure our how to use this and here is how it works for me. If you follow the directions and leave on for only one minute you may get 10% coverage at best, and if your hair grows fast, you will always have a visible color line. Also, as a shampoo this works very poorly to remove dirt and oil. So, wash your hair with a regular shampoo first. Then use control GX and leave on for 10 minutes (I shave and soap up while this is on). Then rinse. With this routine I was able to get good gray coverage and can use every other day with no problems.Greg

This product is the best smelling Dove Body wash. I also bought the soap. The micro-beads help clean my skin well, not just later hung it up in layers. When caring for my junk, the hard soap is my best bet and it cleans better than any other soap I’ve used before, from Dove or any other brand. Rough enough to leave you clean, while leaving your skin soft too. My wife loves its scent and she was really intrigued by the soap bar color. It didn’t bother me at all. I can tell a lot of thought went into this product, because it takes care of sweaty areas while leaving you feeling super clean. The body wash was good too. Although a bit thicker than other Dove products, it worked great for me with enough lather to use for my whole body once. I usually use the bar soap for my underarms and due to the deodorant residue I always have to lather that area up a few times. Not with this one. Thanks Dove. My husband received this product as a #freeproduct to #trywithtopbox . The fact that this contained caffeine seemed intriguing and he was expecting a refreshing scent. This shampoo smells like cheap cologne. Though the scent does not last for a long time, it still doesn't seem like something that should go into your hair. It does do a good job of cleaning the hair but there was no noticeable effects of the caffeine in terms of scalp stimulation. This product absolutely works. In fact, if you use it daily it will make your hair too dark. Use it daily, then back off to twice a week. Some have complained that it stains your nails. You're absolutely right it does! If hair color is to work, it must dye keratin, which makes up your hair and nails. Throw a rubber glove into the shower and keep it there to use with this stuff. For best results, rub it into dry hair and leave it while you do everything else in the shower. Also, this leaves the aroma of hair dye in your hair, because….. it is hair dye. I suggest hitting your hair with conditioner afterward, or better yet, follow use with a color shampoo that has a pleasant aroma such as Gem Lites brown pearl. (Hair dye like the ControlGX comes out of the bottle white and colors the core of the hair shaft, colored shampoos that come out of the bottle black like Gem Lites color the outside of the hair shaft.) Someone posted to leave the shampoo in for thirty minutes to get good results. Don’t! It is a hair dye with chemicals. You risk damaging your hair and/or irritating your scalp. It is designed to work gradually. If you leave it in too long, you WILL damage your hair. The product is meant to be used as directed and is very effective. I keep my goatee a little long, about an inch on the chin. It was grey/white, with a little black mixed in. I had tried coloring it once in the past and freaked out at the results and shaved it off. So although I was skeptical, I was willing to try a gradual reduction product. It took a couple of washes before I started noticing any change, and yes, the white hair did take on a purplish hue. But I decided to see it through and stayed with it. I even doubled up on washes a few times that first week or so. By the third week, the purplish hue was gone, and I'm left with a natural looking dark color somewhere between really dark brown to black. I love the results and hope this product stays in production. Don't get freaked out by the transition phase. If my buddies had noticed they would have had a blast pointing it out. I actually pointed out to them what I had done, and the results were so good they were just like, wow yeah your beard was white! No one noticed as it was changing. Try it, be bold. This shampoo is awesome! I used it for 3 days in a row and then a couple of times once a week for 2 weeks and now I'll probably use it once every other month just to keep the gray from coming back. Best product for getting rid of your gray without anyone even knowing your doing it. I didn't tell any of the other 3 people in my house what I was doing or my parents or people at work and not one of them noticed the gray was gone until I told them and they all see me pretty much every day. AWESOME PRODUCT! The only thing I made sure I did was wear some of those cheap disposable gloves when I used it to keep my hands from staining and make sure you shake it up good and store it on its cap for best results. Oh and I would leave it in my hair for a few min (about 3min) which is longer than the directions tell you too. Another positive thing about it is I thought it might dry out my hair or scalp by using it multiple times but it has conditioner in it and I have had no problem with either. If your on the fence about getting this product then jump off and buy it Now! I have used numerous products to try and get rid of my gray head without drawing attention to it but this one by far beats all of them hands down! I have been using this shampoo for around 2.5 years now and it has been fantastic and it gave me new confidence in my life however all of a sudden the formula has changed and my hair has turned a weird ginger/blonde colour. This has had a terrible effect on my mental health and because of the horrendous colour it made my hair go to the point I have had to shave all my hair off. I have read people saying it turned there hair ginger? My hair is dark brown that's going grey on the sides, I've been using this product for 2 tubes now and her buying the third. I used first everyday for 2 weeks, then every other day after. I have had no problems with it, so maybe it's a reaction to what's already on their hair. I suggest taking a picture of before as the change is so subtle you won't notice. My only complaint is the tube size which lasts about 5a month using every other day.Shypop

The first time I tried this I accidentally dropped some in the shower on the tile grout. I did not see it because the product is lightly colored as is the tile and grout. I came back in a few hours later and noticed a black "blob" on the shower floor. I immediately tried to clean it up but the grout remained slightly black. I did not want to risk this in the future so I stopped using it. The grout still shows the stain weeks later.Michael

I haven't used this product in a long time. I do remember it very clearly. I bought this at one of the discounted or liquidated stores. If I remember right it was either t.j. Maxx or Burlington. It is very Vivid in my imagination that I was trying to do everything to get rid of it. I know it stayed in my downstairs bathroom with a little bit left in the bottle. I hated the residue that it left on my hair and the lack of my hair feeling clean after using this. My ex-husband was very bad about using the last of a product once it got down to the bottom of it. It sat in his shower downstairs until one day I used the last of it. I always thought it was a product for men and that was a reason that I never bought it again. Anyone who dyes their hair copper knows that copper pigmented hair dye will not stay onto the hair particle for long. A brand new copper color hair do will last about a week or two before it fades into a honey brown color, and eventually a yellow-brown color. With this in mind, there are products that will help to prolong the dye coloration and slow down the fade process, and I turn to Redken shampoo every time to get the job done whenever I need to prolong my copper dye. I use this along with the Redken conditioner Color Extend and shampoo three x a week, conditioner once a week, and my copper pigmented color will last about 2 months before it fades onto a honey brown and eventually to a yellowish brown by the 4 months mark. What I love about this product it is that it's never obvious that you are dying your beard. It does take a while, but it will slowly alter the color. To me, it's just dark enough and subtle enough to look completely natural. Nobody wants to be that guy that has a grey beard on Friday, then shows up Monday morning with a dark beard. I found Brickell by chance last November and took a shot on their sample pack. I really loved all of the products. They seem to work great and they smell amazing too. As with most products from brickell, I don’t prefer the smell. Their scented and unscented products don’t smell great for me, and I have lots of them now. They all do work fantastic, however. The shampoo my be my least favorite of the products I own if only because of the scent and dryness it leaves my scalp with. The conditioner in the other hand is a great product and I use it on my beard at times too. All the face products are great. The face lotion works really well for my dry skin and is what sold me on their products to be honest. I have the unscented and although it’s better smelling than the scented one- which is too lemony to me, it has a bit of an odd smell to it. The face scrub is also a great product.Cody L.
Definitely my go-to for daily shampoo now. The scent alone makes it worth it, but it is also a premium shampoo overall. Lathers and cleans beautifully, my hair looks healthy and strong, and it it’s easier to style my hair now because it doesn’t lay flat or get randomly wavy like it does with bottom shelf shampoos. This product absolutely works. In fact, if you use it daily it will make your hair too dark. Use it daily, then back off to twice a week. Some have complained that it stains your nails. You're absolutely right it does! If hair color is to work, it must dye keratin, which makes up your hair and nails. Throw a rubber glove into the shower and keep it there to use with this stuff. For best results, rub it into dry hair and leave it while you do everything else in the shower. Also, this leaves the aroma of hair dye in your hair, because….. it is hair dye. I suggest hitting your hair with conditioner afterward, or better yet, follow use with a color shampoo that has a pleasant aroma such as Gem Lites brown pearl. (Hair dye like the ControlGX comes out of the bottle white and colors the core of the hair shaft, colored shampoos that come out of the bottle black like Gem Lites color the outside of the hair shaft.) Someone posted to leave the shampoo in for thirty minutes to get good results. Don’t! It is a hair dye with chemicals. You risk damaging your hair and/or irritating your scalp. It is designed to work gradually. If you leave it in too long, you WILL damage your hair. The product is meant to be used as directed and is very effective. Don’t listen to the 30 minute guy.Jose Hernandez
I keep my goatee a little long, about an inch on the chin. It was grey/white, with a little black mixed in. I had tried coloring it once in the past and freaked out at the results and shaved it off. So although I was skeptical, I was willing to try a gradual reduction product. It took a couple of washes before I started noticing any change, and yes, the white hair did take on a purplish hue. But I decided to see it through and stayed with it. I even doubled up on washes a few times that first week or so. By the third week, the purplish hue was gone, and I'm left with a natural looking dark color somewhere between really dark brown to black. I love the results and hope this product stays in production. Don't get freaked out by the transition phase. If my buddies had noticed they would have had a blast pointing it out. I actually pointed out to them what I had done, and the results were so good they were just like, wow yeah your beard was white! No one noticed as it was changing. Try it, be bold. The transition phase will seem way more drastic to you than anyone else. The end results are awesome.Alan

21/7/2022. I was a customer for a few years and then had the new formula which made my hair go mousy brown (was dark before I went grey). I stopped using for about a year. Saw a good review on another site that said they had sorted it out. Basically if you look on the top of the box it will have an embossed batch number (hard to see but is there).Review said anything with batch Z22B… works again. Got mine from Boots and pleased to say it does work as it used to. Still says new formula on box but works well. I left on for 1.5 minutes. Also, from past experience, I never got stained fingers if you just put a bit of soap on your fingers immediately before applying. Hope this helps. Oh and this new new formula does not look as dark as the old old one but still stains the shower curtain if you forget to rinse it down etcSteve5150
This product is absolutely awful, does not work in the slightest and is a complete waste of money. Have been using it everyday for a week now and the few grey hairs that i do have, have not changed in colour at all. The rest of my hair has changed to a shade of ginger/copper though. Thankfully it is temporary. I do not recommend this product to anybody.cama
