This is the best curly friendly conditioner I've found so far on this site. I need a lot of product but I feel like my 2C/3A hair is much more manageable with this than with other conditioners. The downside: this is the weirdest smelling product I've ever used on my head ever. First sniff is something resembling dill pickles. It then morphs into a kind of old man's cologne, like the musky kind that's overpowering. Only to settle on a very floral mix of the previous two scents. I have no other way to explain it. . . I have been on the hunt for a natural shampoo and conditioner that wouldn't weight down my curls and so far so good with this product. The only con I would give it is that the natural smell could be off-putting for some – myself I can deal with natural, herbal smells better than fake perfume scents. This shampoo lathers well for being sulfate free and I only need about a pump and a half for my hair, which is almost down to my chest. It rinses cleanly and I follow it with the conditioner and my hair is left really soft and my waves stand out even without putting gel or mouse in it – although I often do have to style it with some sort of product but that is just the way my hair is. I would recommend this to people with wavy to curly hair for sure. My hair is long and thick and frizzy and I feel like this has helped to tame some of the frizz. I have tried other brands like devacurl and this cleans better for me (and my hair is pretty greasy at the scalp) and is a better value. Bonus points for the pump!deskar

I received this sample of Jack Black Beard Lube from Sephora and gave it to my Dad to try out. I'd like to preface this review by stating that my Dad is very much set in his ways and particular about his shaving regimen. For 40 years, he's used the same shaving cream. About 12 years ago (thanks to me), he added a balm that he uses after shaving with his cream to achieve an even closer shave, when necessary – generally, whenever his blade is on its 3rd or 4th use. He shaves his entire beard and sideburns – maintains a full mustache. He shaves daily and is not prone to irritation. Big Pro: He was impressed that the Beard Lube eliminated the need to use the balm to achieve a closer shave; his blade was on its 4th use and the Lube still gave him the perfect shave. He also appreciated how well the Lube softened his coarser hairs pre-shave. Cons: (1) He said it felt greasy upon application – his face did not have the 'clean' feel that his shave cream provides. (2) The Lube left his face oily post shave, so much so that he felt the need to remove excess oils with a warm cloth. This Lube contains oils for conditioning so that makes sense – but oil on the face is not something my Dad is used to and he did not like it at all. He also felt the need to use his regular Balm to give his face the after-shave feel he likes (I guess that fresh tingly sensation scent). (3) The translucency of the Lube made it difficult to see what areas of the face had already been shaven (funny because the translucency is supposed to help you see where you are shaving to avoid mishaps – but he didn't see it that way). Overall, he very much enjoyed the result of the close shave and would purchase the travel size to use while on vacation because it eliminates the need of second shave with his balm (less to pack / carry). He also said it would be handy while on-the-go to take care of a 5 o'clock shadow if there was an event after work. He also likes that he can get longer use out of his blades without sacrificing a close shave or risking potential nics due to a dulling blade — which would save money. For daily shaving, he intends to stick with his 2-step cream balm regimen but he would highly recommend the Beard Lube to men with sensitive skin that becomes irritated from razor shaving. I'm thinking the Jack Black 'Cushioning Shave Lather' may be a better option for some like my father…tiffany michele.r
I love Jack Black products and use way to many of them! I saw someone else mention travel sizes and you responded that there is a 3oz tube. I travel almost every week for 1 to 2 nights and I am carry on only. This means that I am limited to one ziploc bag so fitting all the JB products I use, plus the rest, even in a 3oz size is simply not possible. I also try to reduce my plastic usage wherever possible, so while I kind of live off the samples (and often time orders to so I can get larger samples of things I use anyway, I hate doing that. Ideally you would have smaller, refillable containers that could be used for a variety of different products. I would actually pay good money for that. I've tried using old contact lens cases but that's not ideal because I think too much air gets in and the product degrades.Joshua
Excellent product! Great body lotion part of my daily routine. I usually lather it in after a shower. The lotion absorbs to the skin fast and ideal for moisturizing my skin. My hair was already in good shape prior to testing the Blackwood conditioner so the best I can say for it is that my hair is still in good shape. It kept my hair soft and silky. If you're into woodsy smells then this would be a good option. My only issue with it is the container. Sadly in my area I can’t recycle number seven plastics, your location may differ. I also find that the nice looking bottle will keep me from using all the product up, so not that economical. But on the plus side it has a pump and that will help with portioning.gaby

I usually deal with a very frizzy and unruly hair that is just too stubborn. This shampoo is the product that I did not know I need it. This shampoo works well on frizzy hair. It cleans really really well. My hair feels clean without being stripped. Smells so so delicious! It rinses off without a residue! It nourishes my hair and makes it soft. Standing in the shower, on the first wash, my hair definitely didn't feel clean. The Curl Charisma didn't remove any of the products I had previously used during the week. Using a cleansing shampoo, I was able to get rid of any buildup. Then, I shampooed again with the Curly Charisma. It is a very thin shampoo and doesn't suds up (which I was kind of disappointed with after my first/second wash). Finally, I was ready for the Curly Charisma conditioner. It's thick and creamy. Worked through my hair and let it sit while was washed. Honestly, my hair may not have been in need of the rice amino and avocado hydration the shampoo and conditioner claim they have. My curls weren't limp by any stretch of the imagination but I felt like they were at vivacious and voluminous as always. I only purchased the 8oz. bottles. So, I may try again but I won't feel bad if I end up tossing. For context, I live in Utah (dry climate) and have very curly blonde hair. Love the Curly Charisma Co-wash. As others have commented, this shampoo is very drying. I noticed my hair felt dry (not stripped; but dry) after the very first wash. But, I have to be honest, my curls looked amazing! So much so that I went out the next week and bought the matching conditioner. But over time my hair just got drier and drier and eventually felt like straw after each wash. After about 4 weeks my hair was extremely dry all the time and had significantly more frizz. By 6 weeks I was noticing much more shedding and my curls were stringy and limp. . I tried everything to fix it. Different stylers. More frequent clarifying etc.. but my curls were falling flat and the frizz was out of control. I finally had to admit it was the shampoo. I stopped using this about 2 weeks ago and switched to the Shine shampoo and conditioner by Curlsmith. I saw an immediate improvement. Curls came back; frizz is better. It will take time to undo the damage from this shampoo but I'm so glad I stopped using it. If you hair truly, truly needs protein (like a lot of protein) then this could work great for you. But it was definitely damaging to my hair.Chris

The Shampoo/condituoner works pretty good for me, but I gotta use it twice to get the results I want bur that's with most shampoo and conditioner I used before I jisy wish this had more of the scent to it, as like the body wash when u put some of that on a wash clothe or a scrubbie puff and start to use it the scent fills the bathroom, and is wonderful! I bought this because I was getting dandruff pretty bad in the winter months and I liked the ingredients list better than the other dandruff shampoos. My husband’s hair gets very dry and rough in the winter and it also gets frizzy. This conditioner is great for his hair. Smells so good. It’s very effective in providing right amount of hydration. This product is truly a much needed hydration, that dry hair needs. It smells great, very soft powdery scent. It makes the hair feel super soft and it gets easier to brush it. So at first when i saw the classic Old Spice packaging in my #complimentary #influenster #voxbox i thought this was intended for my husband. However, once i opened it, i found the scent to be very light, fresh, clean, and gender neutral. I was a little worried that the 3 products together (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in product) would weigh down my hair but they seem to be doing a good job of keeping in the moisture without any oiliness. i will admit that i haven't styled my hair curly since using this – too cold here to wait for it to air dry. Will try and update once I've done a curly trial. Anyway, the leave in conditioner is light and i thinks help with smoothing and de-frizzing mostly. would consider purchasing again.

As with most products from brickell, I don’t prefer the smell. Their scented and unscented products don’t smell great for me, and I have lots of them now. They all do work fantastic, however. The shampoo my be my least favorite of the products I own if only because of the scent and dryness it leaves my scalp with. The conditioner in the other hand is a great product and I use it on my beard at times too. All the face products are great. The face lotion works really well for my dry skin and is what sold me on their products to be honest. I have the unscented and although it’s better smelling than the scented one- which is too lemony to me, it has a bit of an odd smell to it. The face scrub is also a great product.Cody L.
Definitely my go-to for daily shampoo now. The scent alone makes it worth it, but it is also a premium shampoo overall. Lathers and cleans beautifully, my hair looks healthy and strong, and it it’s easier to style my hair now because it doesn’t lay flat or get randomly wavy like it does with bottom shelf shampoos. I’m not opposed to a shampoo like this but my skin is very sensitive and lots of shampoos make me break out along my neck and scalp for whatever reason. This shampoo has tea tree oil which seems to always break me out even when its included in tiny amounts; however I understand most people don’t react that way to it. It is also VERY fragrant lol, and strong artificial fragrances seem to irritate and break me out too. I can’t say the scent is necessarily good, but it’s not horrible. It’s just a lot. And kind of old man-ish. I gave it to a less sensitive friend of mine to try and he said: “Yeah, it’s good.” Lol. So. There ya go. If you’re not sensitive and don’t care about scents too much, it’ll probably be fine for you. I’m just not the target consumer for something like this.daniel.s
Typically I am not one for old spice shampoo or really any kind of non-professional hair care but I have to say I enjoyed using this shampoo. It offers a nice refreshing tingle, your hair feels really clean, your scalp feels nice and fresh. As long as you use a good conditioner this is really a great shampoo to add into your rotation of hair care. My favorite way to use it, is sometimes I dont always wash my hair everday even though I shower so this shampoo offers a nice cleanse after 2 days of not shampooing. All things considered I really like this shampoo, I would recommend it and I think both women and men would like it, the scent is great!joseph.g
As someone who suffers from dandruff, I was quite excited to try the new Tea tree Shampoo from Old Spice. I received my complimentary test bottle and couldn't wait to shower. However, I was honestly a bit disappointed. While still lathering up the solution, the invigorating tea tree scent faded. Instead, I rinsed off what smelled like generic store brand shampoo with that grocery store scent. To be sure it wasn't just my nose playing tricks, I asked my roommates to try it out and they agreed. Besides the scent, most tea tree shampoos have my flake-ridden scalp tingling. I haven't used this product in a long time. I do remember it very clearly. I bought this at one of the discounted or liquidated stores. If I remember right it was either t.j. Maxx or Burlington. It is very Vivid in my imagination that I was trying to do everything to get rid of it. I know it stayed in my downstairs bathroom with a little bit left in the bottle. I hated the residue that it left on my hair and the lack of my hair feeling clean after using this. My ex-husband was very bad about using the last of a product once it got down to the bottom of it. It sat in his shower downstairs until one day I used the last of it. I always thought it was a product for men and that was a reason that I never bought it again. Anyone who dyes their hair copper knows that copper pigmented hair dye will not stay onto the hair particle for long. A brand new copper color hair do will last about a week or two before it fades into a honey brown color, and eventually a yellow-brown color. With this in mind, there are products that will help to prolong the dye coloration and slow down the fade process, and I turn to Redken shampoo every time to get the job done whenever I need to prolong my copper dye. I use this along with the Redken conditioner Color Extend and shampoo three x a week, conditioner once a week, and my copper pigmented color will last about 2 months before it fades onto a honey brown and eventually to a yellowish brown by the 4 months mark. I'm going to try to explain this in a way that makes since… ok stay with me. For the longest time the only way I could wash my hair was in the shower because it allowed my hair to flow in the natural direction (towards the back). I couldn't sink wash anymore because flipping my hair in the reverse direction (towards the front, forehead) would knot and tangle my hair. Detangling would always be a headache after sink washes, so eventually I gave up. Before this product I would have to use an abundance of conditioner just to detanagle my hair. BUT BAAABY!!! this shampoo right HERE!!!! I can now shampoo my hair in the sink again and easily detangle it without conditioner! This for me is a big deal because it allows me to cleanse my hair any time of day I want and not solely around showers. ( I know it may not mean much to some, but there's a method to my madness). My hair is very manageable after using this shampoo. It smells great too. Let me also add that my hair was slightly damaged prior to using this (plus other Mane choice products) and my curls are BACK and popping! These products have brought my hair back to life I couldn't be happier.
Using the shampoo my hair felt like a cloud, now no I've never touch a cloud but I imagine it's quite soft and fluffy. Now don't get me wrong I'm a garnier girl at heart and no I'm not going to switch out my maoke syrup shampoo for this yet completely but its s definite kicker. Love how my hair felt after the very however I think an ingredient in it awoke my dandruff, disaster. This probably happened because I decided to dive into the line using nothing but pink lemonade my hair probably couldn't handle the drastic change. Who knows definitely not me all ik is I'm back on sulphur8 hoping to take this beast once again. For the conditioner I didn't find it to have much slip for detangling, I didn't have an issue as once my hair gets water it detangles but more slip needed. For the 5 minute mask ofc I never leave it for 5 mins probably 30 tbh. It's not as good as the garnier 5 minute mask that's for sure but it does it's job.thea.q
This is really fantastic shampoo. My hair has been really prone to getting tangled lately and since I've been using this shampoo it's been much easier to comb. It's also one of the few shampoos that entirely gets rid of my frizz. My hair stays very soft for days afterwards. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars is because it isn't available in a bigger bottle like most brands have. Most brands have a regular size bottle and a 'jumbo' size one. My hair is down to my hips so it doesn't take long for me go through a bottle (usually about two weeks or so). I would love to have a bigger size so I don't have to constantly go out and buy it.DLS

I am m not sure what magical ingredients go into this, but the products have transformed my hair. I was forever searching for my "holy grail" shampoo and conditioner and nothing ever 'wowed' me. I have fine-medium hair but a lot of it. I struggle with my roots getting oily and my ends being dry. My hair also gets very tangly. I have been buying Dove shampoo and conditioner for many years from Sam's. Dove has changed the smell and the formula. My hair actually looks oily after I blow it dry. I have fine thin hair and the old formula always worked well for me. My hair would blow out to be light and bouncy. This new formula just weighs it down. It does not even want to take to the curling iron. All of my bottles are going back to Sam's. Dove, do you even test out your changes? We placed a delivery order recently with Wal*Mart a few items were delivered from our local store. They left the order at our door left before we realized it was the wrong order. Because of covid, they don't accept any returns of local delivery orders, so they let us ( I guess the person who got our stuff) keep it for free! I'd never tried this particular conditioner before but I thought it looked like a good one but didn't have super high hopes because nothing has ever done a total miracle for my hair before. On a dryness, brittleness, frizziness, tanglability (Is that a word? LOL!), unruliness scale of 0 – my Dreamland Baby doll I got when I was 8 (Wow! That hair! Eek! It was short but would turn back into a frizzy, tangled mess 1 minute after thoroughly brushing taming without touching it!), my hair is off the charts! It's crazy thick, unbelievably frizzy, more porous than Spongebob, incredibly weak dry. I can't shampoo daily (it takes too long makes the texture worse) I absolutely have to put products in after each shampoo too keep it under some sort of control. I'm always looking to try new shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, treatments, leave-ins in hopes of finding the hair miracle I've been hoping for. My goodness, this is it! Even before applying a leave-in while my hair is still damp, I can tell that my hair is unbelievably soft! I have covid, so I went longer than usual without shampooing (finally did today) even after several days, my hair felt silky, smooth, soft, with very minimal frizz or tangles!
