A ranch with all the elements for rat and mice proliferation can be a difficult place to control them. I have used several different poisons over the years and found Ramik to work the best for us. This year, pack rats were our biggest concern and Ramik got them under control and we have not seen any recent sign of them. Have never had problems with pets or wildlife being affected. Just purchased two more bags to continue our control efforts.

The poison seemed to work on young rats and mice as I found a few dead ones in the yard. The volume of rodents visiting decreased significantly; however, the mature rats were enjoying a free meal with no apparent ill effects. There was never a problem with the rats and mice being attracted to the bait–it just seemed like the poison was not potent enough for the large rats. If you are not dealing with large rats then I recommend this product, otherwise look elsewhere.ronb946

I tried everything humanely possible to get rid of them without killing them . nothing worked , so I resorted to other methods that would destroy them. after purchasing this product it's all I use I just throw it everywhere I know they're going to be . I tried the Tomcat Child & Dog Resistant Disposable Rat & Mouse Killer station. This is a good time to put out bait with the weather getting cooler. I like that the poison is contained and cannot be easily accessed by pets or children. However, it still has the caution that the rodents that eat the poison then go out and can be eaten by other animals, which may kill them. This station is compact enough to easily place around the house and can be placed horizontally or vertically. It had a good design and you can easily see how much bait is left in the station without needing to touch it. Once the bait is gone, you can just pick the whole thing up and throw it out. There is little worry about little crumbs of poison that the rodents will carry out of the trap because they have to maneuver out. Please do not buy these mouse traps. When I bought it, I was in a hurry and didn't fully read that it had poison in it. I decided to try one anyway without reading up on it, and after reading about it plus my own experience with it I highly recommend you go with the classic mouse traps for several reasons. 1st is that I also put out the classic wooden mouse traps and I have caught multiple on those all while this box went ignored by the mice until I finally sealed off several entrances where they were accessing the other traps previously. 2nd reason is that when they did decide to give this box a try, one of them (which I thought was dying in the box and I left to come back when it was fully dead) actually came out of the box and left, and now it is probably going to die in my walls somewhere and stink like crazy. Then another came (could be the same mouse but I don't know) and was still eating the bait. Because it takes 1-2 days to kill them, they can easily leave and die somewhere you don't want it to. So I had to trap it in a box and wait for it to die. 3rd reason is that they're inhumane. I don't know why I didn't think more about it when I set it out but after seeing the mice die like that I realized it's completely inhumane. The wooden traps are quick and work better anyway. 4th reason is that the poison is also highly toxic to yourself, your family, pets, and tons of animals. When you throw away that poisoned mouse it will leach into the water or another animal may eat it and die. I regret buying and using these and I will never do it again.Alix

This is the first time I have tried a bait station to catch rats that made the mistake of entering my backyard. My neighbors have a chicken coop next to our shared fence and the rats love to steal the chicken feed. I've found several running along the fence line and wanted to make sure they aren't taking up residence in my yard. I've never been a fan of regular mouse traps and I figured if the bait station style of rodent control is good enough for commercial businesses, they certainly would work for my needs as well. I've been using the mouse bait for 3 years in the storage room attached to my townhouse. Although the bait was consumed, I never found any dead mice. I see in a response below from customer service that "It will take at least or as little as 2 days for the mouse to die after eating the bait". The storage room roof is pitched to the house roof; one day I saw a mouse run across the rafter to that space. I guess that's where they are dying because the smell is horrible in the storage room. I bought 3 rat traps and I have not killed one rat in the 3-4 weeks I have used it. It is tripped every night, usually by raccoons and opossums. I did "catch" 2 opposums. The first one bleed to death, and second one walked off with it attached to its front paw. Both bit through the wire that I had attached to the trap. Mice do not get caught, they sit on the lever and walk on it repeatedly. I video tape it every night with a trail camera. The rats are too smart to even test the food. With over 30 minutes of video, not one rat tried to eat the food. Mice, raccoons and opossums all ate the food. I have caught 23 mice using mouse traps and bucket of water with a roller going across so the animal falls and drowns. I did catch 2 rats with the old-fashioned wooden trap. I would like my money back for the 3 worthless plastic rat traps. It doesn't work for rats and it just injures and kills larger animals. I have photos and videos to prove what I am saying.DLS1050

I was skeptical if this stuff would work or not. Put together a homemade bait station: I bought some 3" inch diameter PVC tube cut at about 12" inch lengths, can be hung or placed on the ground just about anywhere. Put bait in the ends pushed in just a couple inches and they will stay dry in the rain, just enough space for small rodents to get at the bait or reach their paws at. The tubes are small enough that birds have practically no interest in messing with them if they are outside. THE RESULT: Sure enough after 4-5 days of the bushy pests disappeared. I'd check the bait station every day and noticed they were being eaten, I drilled holes in a few chunks and hung them around and those were munched on as well, even saw a few rodents eating them. The chunks have a strong peanut smell, they are soft and easy to handle. They will break apart if you cut into them without scoring around the chunk first with a good sharp knife or utensil, there are no holes in them so if you want to hang them you need to drill holes. Put the little bait station it came with where I knew smaller rodents liked to travel, decent little contraption, easy to use. Good product, works well at keeping the varmints away.Pham

Then another came (could be the same mouse but I don't know) and was still eating the bait. Because it takes 1-2 days to kill them, they can easily leave and die somewhere you don't want it to. So I had to trap it in a box and wait for it to die. 3rd reason is that they're inhumane. I don't know why I didn't think more about it when I set it out but after seeing the mice die like that I realized it's completely inhumane. The wooden traps are quick and work better anyway. 4th reason is that the poison is also highly toxic to yourself, your family, pets, and tons of animals. When you throw away that poisoned mouse it will leach into the water or another animal may eat it and die. I regret buying and using these and I will never do it again.Alix

This is the first time I have tried a bait station to catch rats that made the mistake of entering my backyard. My neighbors have a chicken coop next to our shared fence and the rats love to steal the chicken feed. I've found several running along the fence line and wanted to make sure they aren't taking up residence in my yard. I've never been a fan of regular mouse traps and I figured if the bait station style of rodent control is good enough for commercial businesses, they certainly would work for my needs as well. I love that the boxes can be set horizontally or vertically and used both inside or outside. They are also resistant to tampering by children and dogs. Bought Ramik bars and the Motomco Agrid 3 bars at the same time. I baited the stations with mix & match of both, and the mice devoured the Ramik, while just picking at the Agrid. It could be the nature of the bar (e.g. the Agrid might work in lesser doses) but I am sticking with the one that actually gets eaten. I live in dense woods and tall grass, so am looking for long-term maintenance. I don't want to kill any snakes which help with rodent control, and Ramik is 1st generation killer, but not sure about the Agrid3..Anonymous

Slowly killing off my rodent infestation. I had to moisten it then mix it with peanut butter and after spreading it in small dishes to set around at night I drizzled some juice from raisins I had heated with water in the microwave. Oh and also eliminate all other food sources. I think the rodents are desperate for food (I was throwing food for my chickens out side where they play during the day and now I feed them only in their aviary that is sealed off from the rats) at this point so they will eat what they can smell and easily find. After receiving the as Spark reviewer I install the bait station with the kill stuff, the next day the station was move from the spot, but no animal was trap in and the product was still in the bait station. After 6 days the station still there intact without see any activity in this shed. I like the thought that there are gloves included. However, the gloves, to me are thin plastic (see pic) like a non-reusable shopping bag. I will wear stronger, thicker gloves while baiting the station. (4 stars because of the super thin gloves) Contains 1 block already in place and then 9 additional refill blocks of palatable bait. The mice made me do it!!! The little varmints ate the fuel lines on my Jeep. Not once, but twice. Nor was I real fond of the day I was driving and a mouse popped up on the windshield from under the hood. So……reluctantly, hidden in the backyard and front yard, I have strategically placed two small juice bottles with openings only large enough for mice. Inside the bottles, I place 6 to 7 Ramik treats. Every few weeks I check the contents and replace as necessary. The product is very effective. Weather does not deteriorate the nuggets. I prefer buying the 4oz packets, 16 to a bag. This way there is only a one small bag at a time that is opened, which I put inside a plastic bag with a zip tie. Seems safer. Read Amazon review before my handyman suggested this or similar product. Bought this brand at local hardware store same day. Used to hear a whole city of mice seem to take over the kitchen walls and floor after I turned out the lights. Now, (4 weeks later), I only hear them infrequently. Used to see mouse dropping in kitchen every morning when I woke up Now, I only see the dropping in the corners where I placed this product. The mice definitely ate the mouse pellets. You can see the debris nearby. Today, I cleaned-out the old mouse pellets and put out new ones. I imagine the old ones have absorbed humidity and I read that they should be dry. I was skeptical that these would work but apparently they really do. I am actually very grateful. The mouse ate all the roaches. Best stuff ever! Safe for everything BUT the mice & rats. Will not poison your pets, wildlife, humans, groundwater, soil, fish, hawks, owls, snakes, etc JUST rats and mice. They become dehydrated by the product de-activating their thirst mechanism, then go unconscious and pass away. Supposedly more humane than other methods. I've seen rodents dying if other types of poison and traps and that is horrible, so I think passing away in their sleep does sound better. We used this at two different locations and it worked so well that we had half a bag leftover and haven't needed to use it since. With dogs, cats, owls, hawks, snakes, coyotes, raccoons, possums, around that could eat the body it's important that whatever is used does not cause secondary poisoning. This product is completely safe if a predator or scavenger finds the deceased mouse or rat, it will not poison them if they consume the body. It won't poison the soil or water either. You don't have to worry about it getting into well water, aquifer, filtering down to water table, lake, river, fish, amphibians, etc. It's also safe if some other species eats the bait directly, bird, marmot, raccoon, dog, curious toddler, person with dementia or special needs, don't have to worry about it poisoning anyone but the mice & rats. First let me preface this review by saying that I gave to be extremely impressed with a product before I will take the time to write a review! I made 2 outdoor waterproof bait stations & baited them with another brand of bait. After 2 weeks of waiting the bait had not been touched! I baited my bait stations with this product & within 4 days all the bait had been consumed!! By the way, my bait stations hold 6 of the bait blocks. I reloaded my bait station 2 days ago & noticed that the bait has only been nibbled on!! This indicates to me that my rat problem is coming to an end! Just a brand I've always used it's nice to place the bait in a child, pet safe container. I leave it out year around. I place the tidy bait container under furniture out of sight. I've seen no mice but you will know when they eat it because they will die and of course it will smell for a bit. A sacrifice to make bad smell verses nasty mice running around your home. This particular refill is individually wrapped each bait. Some have mentioned they didn't like unwrapping each one. You aren't supposed to unwrap these just place it in your bait container which to me you have less contact with the bait itself. The mice will just gnaw right into the bait plastic and all. The directions on the bag tell you not to unwrap the bait there is no need. This is really what I wanted users of this particular bait to know there is no need to unwrap and its safer for the consumer not to be touching the bait itself. This really does work. Sometimes they won’t take the bait by itself. Some did but others didn’t go near it. Yes unfortunately you may have to buy Peanut Butter in order for this to help them be attracted to it. We had some disposable plastic plates in our kitchen where we decided to crumble up some of the bait and mix it with peanut butter. Make sure you wear gloves when you are messing with the bait poison though. Placed the peanut butter mixed with the bait poison and waited. It took a couple days for them to actually trust it and took right to it. We found dead mice all over the house. We placed each plate in every room of the house bc we knew we were dealing with an infestation since we were seeing them in pretty much every room. You will however smell the mice when they are dead so it is easier to find them instead of past products we used which caused no odor and we had a harder time finding the dead mice bc of not having that horrible smell from previous products.Shannon

I have tried just about everything on the market to kill voles. We are having an epidemic in the vole population in Idaho and Oregon. I have a tree farm which they are destroying. They are also so bad that they are in the lawns and gardens. I slip the bait down into the holes so that dogs or cats and birds of prey do not come in contact with the poision. It is working well except there are so many voles I have to keep feeding them. Never have I seen it this bad. I have tried the sprays and electronic devices (don't waste your time or money). I have tried ammonia, pine-sol, too, but it's just temporary. Other bait poisions dissolve with moisture or degrade due to sun and winter snow but this bait won't do that. If you have more time on your hands you can run a piece of metal flex from an enegine exhaust down into their holes but it takes too much time which I don't have plus they just keep coming back. I have used this product for many years with great satisfaction. My local TS decided to phase out Hawk because Tom Cat is much cheaper. I bought some Tom Cat and nailed it right beside Hawk in six different locations. To the last, every Hawk bar was eaten and the Tom Cat remained untouched. I bought out the remaining stock of Hawk before the TS store ran out and reported the results to the store manager. I have also given samples of these rat bars to other people over time who have had the same results. Rats died in my crawl space and the smell is
Horrible. Now have to hire someone to remove the dead rats.

Read Amazon review before my handyman suggested this or similar product. Bought this brand at local hardware store same day. Used to hear a whole city of mice seem to take over the kitchen walls and floor after I turned out the lights. Now, (4 weeks later), I only hear them infrequently. Used to see mouse dropping in kitchen every morning when I woke up Now, I only see the dropping in the corners where I placed this product. The mice definitely ate the mouse pellets. You can see the debris nearby. Today, I cleaned-out the old mouse pellets and put out new ones. I imagine the old ones have absorbed humidity and I read that they should be dry. I was skeptical that these would work but apparently they really do. I am actually very grateful. The mouse ate all the roaches. It took a little longer than the package says, but no mice or **** have been seen since the 8th day after spreading the product. We are so grateful.We were infested with extremely smart mice who streaked around lightening fast and somehow avoided all the glue traps baited with peanut butter. In previous years poisons and glue traps worked but not this year. In desperation (and out of sympathy for the cute mice) we tried this product, spreading it on the floor in corners and by baseboards. At first a lot of pellets went missing and were clearly dragged away..good sign. Then we saw a fair increase in daily sightings with slower moving (like casually strolling) mice. If you're reading reviews it means you haven't decided to buy MouseX yet. Take my advice, just order it. This stuff is amazing. I have seen just a couple of mice that were killed by this product – one in a glue trap and one that my cat found and brought to me so I could praise him for his amazing hunting skills, even though it was probably dead before he stumbled across it and he is a bumbling idiot who likes to catch and release – and both looked dehydrated. No smell coming from them at all. No smells in the walls or basement. And, my cat has not suffered any ill side effects from "catching" that one. The pellets disappear like magic, so I know the mice in my house LOVE them. I'm keeping this product on hand from now on to take care of the mice that like to move in with us in the fall and all the extra rodents coming from the abandoned house down the street. This is an amazing product. And no, I wasn't given any product for free or paid to write this. I am just really impressed by how well this stuff works. Although…. if MiceX wanted to send me some free products, I wouldn't say no…. lol. But seriously, stop reading reviews and go order some already!
