Definitely does the trick, obviously if you put too much on a pad to rub your eyes it’s going to burn. All you need is about 5 drops, it’s been taking off all my makeup (I don’t really wear that much, Benefit mascara, tarte shape tape concealer and bare minerals wear powder). However depending on your makeup, certain mascaras that are either waterproof or long lasting it may be harder to get off. At that point you should just use a cleanser to gently rub your eyes to cleanse. All in all for my needs with the makeup I use, I’ve been enjoying this product. My skin is usually sensitive to new products and I haven’t had any breakouts or irritation since using this product for the last month.Justine

Honestly shocked to see so many positive reviews for this product. I bought this when the Bioderma brand I usually get was unavailable at my local Target, having heard good things about La Roche posay in the past. I was very confused and disappointed to smell a strong alcohol smell when I opened the bottle. Micellar water should not have any scent at all, as it’s water. The alcohol smell is unpleasant and the product feels much harsher than the sensitive skin bioderma micellar water. It also was not as effective in my opinion. Further, while it did remove makeup, I believe it has also caused my skin to break out a little, probably due to whatever fragrance is causing the alcohol smell. Definitely going back to bioderma and not even finishing 2/3 of the La Roche bottle.Smtxth

This is my favourite makeup removing product – way better than wipes in my opinion and for me personally the best value + effectiveness combo micellar water out there. I like to do a FULL face of concealer and foundation some days, other days I layer on multiple coats of mascara, go hard with the bronzer and highlight, or apply falsies and a ton of lash glue. I change it up a lot but REGARDLESS of the type and amount of product I apply this micellar water gently and effectively removes it. I drench a couple cotton rounds in this micellar water and wipe all over my face, around my eyelids and over my lashes with ZERO irritation whatsoever, and I have very sensitive, redness prone skin. The price is great, you get a lot of product for what you pay for, and this micellar water gets the job done every time without irritation or redness. For these reasons this is my holy grail micellar water and I will continue to repurchase. PLUS they sell the mini size at the drugstore which is perfect for travelling. Bonus: the lid doesn’t leak when travelling so you can throw in your bag and go. I’ve tried many other “all-in-one” or “safe for sensitive skin” micellar waters at the drug store and even from Sephora and none worked as well as this one for me personally, and they usually made my eyelids and under eye area burn. Try this out if, like me, you’ve got sensitive skin but like to wear heavy makeup and want all traces of it gone without getting skin irritation in the process. I love this product. I don't wear make-up regularly, but I use it to clean my face in the mornings so I can continue to let the previous night's serums and elixirs work their magic on my skin. I purchased a new bottle recently anticipating running out of the one I'd been using. I opened my new bottle and instinctively took off the lid to remove the protective seal. There was no seal, so I chose not to use it thinking perhaps the bottle had been tampered with. I called the customer service number on the bottle and was told that the company does not put protective seals under the lid/over the opening of the bottle as a means of producing less plastic waste. I certainly understand and support that, but it also makes me uncomfortable using the product now. I recognize there are other products I buy that don't come with protective seals, e.g., shampoo and conditioner, but for some reason, it threw me that this one didn't. Maybe because I am applying it directly to my face? I don't know. I am definitely someone who takes into consideration things I purchase, waste I create, and am actively thoughtful about how I contribute (or hopefully don't) to the declining health of our planet, but I hope that Garnier will work to find/develop a protective seal for this (and any of their other products sans seals) that is biodegradable and/or is made in a way that doesn't create more of a negative impact on the planet. I really tried to like this – especially after my other purchases from Nuxe being so amazing. But it just wasn’t good for me. I found the fragrance irritated my eyes, it did not remove make up as seamlessly as other brands do and irritated my skin in general. Not as soothing as described. I got this product from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I've been using it for quite some time now and It's been working for me. It removed my makeup effectively whether I have light makeup or a full face of makeup (although in this case I use multiple pads but only because the pads get dirty, not because the micellar water doesn't work. Thought I would clear this up since I saw it in other reviews). I haven't gotten any acne or dryness from using this but you have to keep in mind that you need to wash your face after using micellar water even if the bottle says you don't need to. If you don't do so, you can get acne (not just with this product, with any micellar water). The texture is light and not so oily. I checked the ingredients and didn't see any "bad alcohols" listed but I will attache a picture in case anyone needs it. Overall, I like this product and think the price to size ratio is very good. [I received this product for free from Influenster and NIVEA in exchange for my honest review.] Oh man. I wanted to love this so much as I normally enjoy using NIVEA products, but this really did nothing for me. I normally use Garnier Micellar Water every day (usually twice daily) and so I thought I would just switch it up with the NIVEA one while testing it. I didn't go more than 5 days with using it because it really did nothing for me. It's nice and refreshing, but it does not remove eye makeup (mascara and pencil/liquid eyeliner + eyeshadows) easily. I am a professional makeup artist and always carry micellar water in my kit for cleansing purposes, or for cleaning up precise lines in the makeup. I need the micellar water to be able to cut through makeup easily without smudging, and I personally did not find that to be the case here. I still give it 2 stars because I feel that even thought it is not super effective in removing makeup, I think I may put it in a spray bottle and keep it in my purse as a refreshing face mist for hot summer days. I’ve been using this product for a little over a month now and honestly – it is a great quick and easy method to remove your face make up before you cleanse/tone/moisturize. This would also be a cost effective way to remove your make up versus the removing wipes ! This bottle lasted me all month and there is still half left. I bought the 4×4 disposable toilettes and used them with this – it’s perfect honestly. You don’t have to worry about the your make up removing wipes drying out ! I also put some premoistened toilettes in a ziplock bag and put them in my purse for travel. Over all I would definitely recommend this product. The Scent is also nice and light. Guys I don't like this version of micellar water AT ALL. Everytime I put it on my eyes area to remove makeup I feel my eyes so irritated. It won't remove as easy tbh, even when its an oily formula for "all skin types". I've got the pink one for dry skin and it worked amazingly. It is #alcoholFree, #fraganceFree and #Hipoallergenic, ALSO it says "tested under dermatological and ophthalmological control" but it irritates my eyes for HOURS, even want to make me nap out of discomfort. Wont try it again and I probably returned it. I'll go back to the pink one, thoughevy.m

This Marcelle Micellar water is nice because it is alcohol-free, fragrance-free, paraben-free and hypoallergenic. I have really sensitive skin and this product gently removes all my makeup without having to rub hard and it doesn't leave my skin red/irritated. I like how my face feels after I use this product but it does leave a little bit of an oily finish. I like the formula of this micellar water as it is enriched with argan oil which nourishing, and regenerates your skin. Overall I do really like this product, it is also pretty cheap compared to other similar products. I also liked how I got extra product as this bottle is 500ml instead of the usual 400ml. This stuff is amazing! I’ve yet to find a misceller water I liked until I found this one and I love it! Makes my skin feel clean without stripping it, face doesn’t feel tight or oily after using it. Removes my waterproof mascara without burning my eyes, non comedogenic and doesn’t break me out like others. I started out by using this typically anywhere from 2-3 times per additionally per day (aside from morning and night) just to remove oil from my skin like a toner and it works perfect for that! I have very oily skin and this has balanced my skin out and now I’m down to using it only once during the day and no product has ever been able to do that for my skin! For some reason it took me a long time to get on to this well-loved micellar water even though I've used different brands, and now I can see why it's such a hit. Like other miscellar waters, this cleanses without requiring rinsing. The formula is quite simple, which is great for sensitive skin. It is fragrance-free and has a skin-friendly pH of 5.5. To use, simply soak a cotton pad and swipe over face. This micellar water doesn't sting my eyes and doesn't irritate my skin in any way. It's effective in removing daily wear sunscreen and most make-up, doesn't strip and leaves my skin feeling comfortable and hydrated. Waterproof make-up requires a bit of work, so I still prefer to use oil-based cleansers on days I have heavier make-up on, to reduce the rubbing. Since it doesn't require rinsing, you could use it as a standalone cleanser. But because it's so gentle, you can still use a second wash-off cleanser if you wish. I also find this handy to use in the middle of the day if I want to start with a clean face before applying make-up. I have used the green sebium version which I did not actually love. I was left with the impression that the green one was average and quite similar to cheaper drugstore micellar waters. But I was impressed with how comfortable and gentle the red sensibo H20 version is. It really gave me the soothing and fresh feeling. I wipe my face with it on cotton pad and every night and I feel that it effortlessly makes my face clean from dirt and makeup and I am ready for the next stage of cleansing. Most importantly, my skin is not stripped afterwards as most other micellar or regular cleansing waters I have tried made my skin drier. Also, I love that it comes with a nozzle dispenser that ensures no spills. So great for travelling especially if you have the smaller bottle. The only con for me is that it does not effectively clean the waterproof makeup, including my loreal double extend mascara. You have to press the soaked cotton pad on your eye and wait a few seconds for the mascara to come off easily, without rubbing. But that is not a problem for me. I was in the market for a quick morning cleanser that would be gentle and moisturizing. I have never tried a "micellar water" products before, but this seemed like a good hybrid. And it has my favorite ingredient, Ceramide. I would never give up on double cleansing, but this has been a great product for the, (oh crap, I’m late days,) when I have 5 minutes before my zoom meetings and I need hydration, moisturizer, and of course sunscreen. I think with this product, you may need to evaluate your needs and expectations before purchasing. I would not consider it a make-up or sunscreen remover, which it seems to be heavily marketed as. The consistency is nice, somewhat thick and milky. No fragrance, silicones or essential oils which makes me love this even more. The ingredient list is amazing, short and clean, full of fatty acids, vitamin E, ceramides and wild melon seed. It does not irritate my eye area and has not caused any issue for me. I do still get a scent of a Play-dough, which the brands La La Retro has, and I absolutely love it. My favorite thing about this is the way my skin feels and looks after using it. I had surgery on my sinuses & nose & had a cast on my nose for a week (which meant l wasn’t allowed to get my face wet) & needed something that I could put on a cotton pad & “clean” my face. Picked this up & it was perfect for what I needed it for. Gave me a skin refresh + it was hydrating & didn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dehydrated. Did not irritate my sensitive skin either. Nice milky consistency & you get a good amount of product for the price (especially since it’s DE). Haven’t used it as a makeup remover (obviously) but I’m not sure it would be the best for a primary cleanse. Maybe as a secondary cleanse after a cleansing balm to get the residue off (which is how I’d use it). I think it’s too gentle to be effective (especially for removing eye makeup). This is my first introduction to micellar water. I only wear make up for special events so this is not a regular use product for me. I actually bought it for those occasional lazy days when I get home super late and don't feel like washing my face. If I don't do something to sorta get the oils off of my face before bed, I am guaranteed to wake up with acne. This stuff is definitely creamy and moisturizing. Which is great. But at the same time, I wonder how good it is at actually getting the oil off my skin because it doesn't feel any cleaner. It hasn't left me with acne in the morning so I guess that's a positive. I have been looking for a new cleanser for my very sensitive skin since what I had been using for years was discontinued. I use the Isdin sunscreen so I thought I would try another Isdin product. The Micellar Facial Cleanser is amazing! It is easy to use, does not irritate my sensitive skin and my face feels like it is cleaner than it ever has been without feeling dry. Doesn't irritate the eye or the delicate skin around the eye area as I'm fairly sensitive. I use a little on two cotton pads and press gently against my eye area for less than 15 seconds and the makeup wipes clean away. I've tried many micellar waters looking to replace one I used for years that was discontinued. This one did not work well on my skin. It seems highly fragranced; my skin was very red and seemed to look more coarse after use. I love this micellar water. I have tried 2 other kinds: Garnier and the Target brand, both of which left an oily residue on my skin. I had originally been using Burts Bees, but wanted to try other brands due to how expensive it is in comparison. Burts Bees is definitely worth it. Burts bees makes my skin feel clean and fresh, and its so easy to use. I just pour some onto a wash cloth and wipe my face. I can literally see all the dirt that came off onto the washcloth (even without wearing makeup). It is expensive, but it is worth it for me, especially now knowing how the other brands stack up. I don’t know why, but Burts Bees doesn’t contain the oily substance that the other two brands I mentioned have. You can literally see the separation in the other micellar waters while Burts Bees has no separation. I have combination skin, so some of my skin is dry and some of it is oily and acne prone, which is why I like using micellar water as my cleanser. I use this every morning and night and it makes my skin feel so clean and refreshed without it being dry or itchy. I definitely recommend it if other cleansers aren’t feeling right for your skin.Liz

5/5 because this did exactly what I bought it for.. Effectively removed ALL makeup easily. Now on to the good stuff. I bought this when I needed a makeup remover in a hurry and decided to give this "micellar water" trend a try without really knowing what to expect. I used a napkin in a pinch and voila.. It worked and was MORE effective than any other makeup remover I've used (wipes, removers both high and low end, etc). It also did not dry out my face like they usually do but rather gave it a subtle softness and even a better tone which were both huge added yet unexpected bonuses. A few tips : apply a generous amount. Let it saturate the skin especially areas with more makeup. Use a separate saturated pad to wipe away. Don't scrub! Also, I used gauze when I ran out of cotton balls and now I will never go back. Gauze was like an even better secret find to use with this product. This Micerall Water is an advance tone perfecting cleanse that is suppose to help with evening out your skin tone. It also helps with removing makeup effortlessly. Olay Luminous Micerall Water leaves your skin feeling refreshed with a cool sensation. It's not harsh to the skin by drying it out, but instead it hydrates the skin. I've been using it for a week now and have seen improvement in my skin tone. I'm a huge fan of the Olay beauty brand and it would recommend this product. It cost about $6.99 at Walmart.tamika.v

I use it as a makeup remover for most days when I am wearing light makeup, but for more heavy duty makeup I prefer the speed and convenience of an oil cleanser. It does remove everything, but if you're wearing a lot of makeup you'll need to go through quite a few cotton pads and it'll be a tedious process — ain't nobody got time for that. Lately I actually find myself reaching for it as a morning cleanser because it's so quick and gentle. Is it super hydrating? I'm not sure. I don't look for lasting effects from something that's designed to clean my skin. However, I do find that it doesn't dehydrate, strip, or disturb the acid mantle of my skin, and that's really all I require beyond getting my skin clean. As an aside, please be aware that the Garnier micellar water with the blue cap is NOT comparable to this at all, though the pink capped version is very similar to the pink capped Bioderma. The price is reasonable if you buy the large bottle, as it really lasts a long time. Now this is a product I don't use every night since I don't always wear makeup and sometimes I prefer a balm if I have a lot of makeup, but this has done the trick pretty well, especially for my daughter who loves playing with makeup and is constantly putting it on and taking it off. As an aside, please be aware that the Garnier micellar water with the blue cap is NOT comparable to this at all, though the pink capped version is very similar to the pink capped Bioderma. The price is reasonable if you buy the large bottle, as it really lasts a long time. Packaging is a squeeze bottle that closes very securely, but you can't actually remove the entire cap which makes decanting for travel very inconvenient. I used to use the Bioderma miscellar cleanser with the pink top but changed to this one which is supposed to be better for dehydrated skin. I like them both very much but do think this feels more hydrating on my older skin. It certainly removes my make up and I use it round my eyes with no problems at all. Last weekend 5 members of my family had full on face painting done and although I had to use nearly half my bottle it removed everything on faces from age 6 to 78! But it doesn’t mean that this product is bad. On the contrary, it’s a gentle but effective cleanser, suitable for all skin types. I always double cleanse, I use it after my Korres Wild Rose foaming gel. Bi-Facil removes the rest of my makeup, especially mascara. Doesn’t sting my eyes, doesn’t dry out my skin, doesn’t leave greasy film on my face- exactly what I need. Quick and easy step in my routine. The bottle is pretty, and dispenses just the right amount of product. And because of that, I can already see that it will last longer that my previous cleanser. I started looking around for better cleansers after getting tired of my face towel still picking up makeup AFTER I washed my face. Also I needed a quick fix to gently remove makeup on those nights I was too tired or lazy to do a full cleansing. Enter Lancome Eau Fraiche! Just sweep this stuff over your made-up face and the makeup dissolves away instantly. No muss, no fuss. it does not irritate my extremely sensitive skin, nor does it contribute to dryness. Normally I do wash with foam cleanser afterwards too, although the packaging says no rinsing required. Oh, and I do use a separate eye makeup remover (Bi-facil is my favorite). But no more foundation streaks on my clean towels that I dry my face with. This stuff is so expensive that I keep looking for a cheaper alternative, but so far I still feel the need to repurchase whenever my bottle of Eau Fraiche runs out every one to two months.susan.c

I'm a big fan of micellar water products and Simples sensitive skin water boost is a decent product for the price. It works well removing eye makeup and even works on mascara. This formula adds a it of hydration without stripping natural oils as some cleansing products do. I paid approximately $5 for a 400ml bottle making it very affordable. If you are looking for a cost friendly micellar water I do recommend trying Simple!dina.a

I have VERY sensitive skin. It can get irritated and blotchy pretty easily. I used to be acne-prone but I took accutane a few years ago for my cystic acne and now I just get small zits scattered here and there. Mostly clear skin but with redness and discoloration. Since going through treatment, my skin’s texture has changed and I’m not a dry/oily/normal combo (yeah, it’s a nightmare trying to find makeup that works for me). When reviewing over the products that were selected as the top winners for the Best In Beauty Skincare category, I could not believe that this item was not a chosen as a winning product! This product is, hands down, my new favorite skincare item to use in my everyday routine that not only removes makeup efficiently but also completely without leaving the pesky left over mascara on your lashes waterline. A few months back, I had made the decision to over-haul my skincare routine in finding products that contained less and/or zero of the well known harsh chemicals. At the time, I was just getting used to the Garnier Micellar Water but found that the product had been banned in other areas due to a few harsh chemicals that were inside of it. Due to having sensitive/acne prone skin, I was very hesitant to change due to being excited that I was able to find the Garnier product to work without causing irritation or breakouts on my skin, but, decided to branch out in seeing if there was another product just like Garnier to try in it's place. I had heard that many people were raving over the micellar water from Simple so I decided to pick it up on a whim while on a Target run to see if I noticed any difference. In all honesty, after using both the Garnier and Simple Micelllar Water products, I had found that they both provide the same exact results and worked exactly the same. In fact, the transition from using Garnier to Simple was very easy quick and didn't notice any difference in sensitivity to my skin! The only difference? Simple did not have the harsh chemicals that Garnier was storing within theirs! I was able to use the same number of cotton pads and the same amount of liquid within the bottles per each brand and receive the perfect results that I expect each time. Thus, if you are worried about changing brands from Garnier, I'd definitely recommend trying Simple! With that said, the product itself is WONDERFUL! I use this product anytime I am removing makeup right before I perform my morning nightly cleanse. If you have not tried using this product before using your cleanser, you are sorely missing out, as I've never felt like my cleansing products did anything until using a micellar water product before hand! It truly gets all of the dirt, oil, makeup, and any other pollution that has been placed on your face throughout the day leaving it clean, fresh, hydrated, and soft to really allow the cleanser to penetrate deep within the skin. I suffer from rosacea and have found the tap water to be too drying and irritating for my condition. I use topical prescriptions morning and evening so need to cleanse twice a day while avoiding hard tap water. I love that unlike bioderma sensibo, this is even more hydrating to the skin with glycerin and panthenol. I’ve already noticed my condition improving! I like this formula the best with only 12 ingredients and two of those being for hydration. Less is more! Please keep this formula!Kimkat

I am heavily invested in skincare. I spend quite a lot of time researching brands and new techniques, and as a result, I have been double cleansing (cleansing first with a cleansing oil, then cleansing again with a water-based product) for over a year. Micellar water, unlike cleansing oil, does not emulsify when water is applied to your face and it is not intended to be rinsed off. You swipe it on with a cotton pad, and leave it there. Micellar water is intended to be used as a standalone cleanser, and for this I find it insufficient. As a cleanser, this would be a big fail for me. It did not sufficiently decongest my skin, and I wound up getting a few closed comedones as a result. However, as a makeup remover, I really liked this product. I do not often use eye makeup, but when I do, I often opt for waterproof mascara. I soaked a cotton pad with the micellar water, and held it against my eye for a few seconds, following the directions on the container. I found that it dissolved my mascara nicely without much irritation, but it took two full cotton pads of product to get it all off. It isn't a miracle product, but it effectively removes even stubborn eye makeup with some patience and minimal rubbing. I will say that there is a caution on the back that says "Avoid getting in eyes," which is incredibly disconcerting since the directions explicitly tell you to saturate a cotton pad and hold it directly on your eye. This product is intended to be applied to your eyes! However, some inevitably got into my eye and it was fine. Like many oil-based products, it caused slight blurriness that dissipated along with the oil. Overall this is an effective makeup remover, and I'm sure it would be a great micellar water for those who do not have clog-prone skin and need a very simple solution for removing makeup. Let me give you guys a little background on me so you understand the full weight of my review. I have sensitive/acne prone/constantly oily skin that flares up at the drop of a hat, and flakes for days after coming in contact with so much as a washcloth. I had heard about the Micellar Cleansing Water online, and have one friend that was already using it, so I decided to try it… The week of Shaky Beats Music Festival in Atlanta GA. I knew each night coming back to the hotel, I was not going to want to shower and go through the 10+ step process of preparing my face for sleep (the way that I should). So instead every night when I would get back to the hotel I used a cotton cloth and my new Micellar Cleansing Water to wipe away all dirt, mud, makeup, build up, oil, and all around nastiness (and save the 10 step for the morning). To my surprise, you could see every bit of gunk clung to my towelette. Immediately I was relieved, that at least as a makeup remover-this worked great! I used this every day of the festival, and have continued to since then. During the festival it worked great and didn’t break me out, even with the harsh elements I exposed my skin to. Ever since then, I use this nightly as a makeupremover/precleanser for my nightly routine and I love it. My favorite part about this product? A little goes a long way and you don’t have to scrub at your face with this product, it literally just wipes the dirt and impurities right off the skin. Least favorite? The packaging. The flip-top bottle that just pours out can be a little much, especially if you’re not trying to use the whole bottle in a week, and for traveling (though it didn’t) leaking is a really big concern. Needed an easy to use makeup remover to not only remove waterproof mascara, but the incredibly difficult to remove SuperGoop Daily Correct CC Cream. L'oreal Complete Waterproof is great on the mascara. On the Supergoop, not so much. It definitely gets waterproof mascara off with not too much rubbing. The only caveat is it leaves your skin very matte and is a little drying. Other than that, when I'm too lazy to do the whole makeup removal thing, L'Oreal does the job. I was really excited to try this product from Garnier because I love the brand already and I thought this product sounded pretty fabulous. Washing my face is so important to me. No matter how tired I am or not feeling well, it has to be done. So this product to me is a game changer. I can use it anywhere. Not only is it convenient but it works really well. It has hyaluronic acid which is great for fine lines and wrinkles. It has aloe and that is really soothing on skin. It also removes makeup and that includes eyes and lips. I’ve been using it for about 10 days now. Super easy to use- I just applied it to my face and neck with some cotton balls and that’s it. I don’t necessarily see my skin looking "replumped”as that is mentioned on the products bottle. But that doesn’t change how I feel about it. I didn’t notice any scent to it. You don’t need much of this cleanser on your cotton ball either, a little goes a long way. You don’t have to rinse your face off after using it. I received Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Hyaluronic Acid + Aloe complimentary in exchange for my honest review. I typically use Bioderma micellar water with a reusable cotton round to remove my make up so I was very interested in trying this Garnier micellar water due to it being almost half the price per ounce. This micellar water removed my makeup without irritating my sensitive skin. It is very comparable to Bioderma except Bioderma seems to work slightly better on heavier makeup days with liquid eyeliner and mascara. I’ve got a free bottle of SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Hyaluronic Acid + Aloe by Garnier from PINCHme to write an honest review. Even tho a micellar water seems to be a simple product, it may be problematic to find good one. I had my doubts about this product before using, so I was surprised in a good way after. The cleanser makes its work perfectly, exactly how it says on the bottle – removes makeup without any harsh rubbing and very quick. It didn’t irritate my eyes at all and I didn’t feel that I need to rinse it out with water after using.
