20 Best Mild Soap For Sensitive Skin (Feb 2023 Update)

KoI purchased this Dove Cleansing Beauty Bar in the Sensitive Skin Formula and I love that it doesn't have any harsh fragrances or irritating chemicals! Although my facial skin isn't sensitive, it's dry reactive. The skin on my body is dry, sensitive, and reactive. My body skin can be extra sensitive on occasion due to shaving so I prefer cleansing bars that are not harsh or irritating on my body (especially legs, underarms, bikini area). This bar of Dove Sensitive Skin cost me $1 at DollarTree in Dec 2021, which is VERY affordable! I'm sure you could get this particular Dove bar in bulk save even more $ fuel/costs of getting 1 bar at a time like I did, but wanted to try it out! I wish I had gotten more recommend getting more of these bars! It's always nice to have at least 1 as a backup bar! I'll be repurchasing this again highly recommend! Even though this Dove Beauty Bar is advertised as "soap-free," it still cleanses very well, leaves skin soft, fresh, and smooth! I don't feel like I'm stripped after using nor do I feel like I have a layer of film either! I definitely will be repurchasing! I have used this Dove Beauty bar in Sensitive Skin alone and also combined with other soaps (as I'm transitioning to bar soap only), and the formula held up perfectly! I just prefer to keep my bar in a container bc I have recently been transitioning from body washes to bar soap and want to be extra hygienic! (or am neurotic?) I do predict we will see a trend of an increase in bar soap products in general for 2022 since the packaging isn't made with a plastic container, it's a condensed version of the same thing, and is more environmentally friendly. (Especially when bought in bulk and if it's a cruelty-free soap that has environmental friendly packaging!) Again, I adore that this Dove Beauty Bar in Sensitive Skin Formula is safe for feminine hygiene, gives the perfect amount of lather, is cruelty-free, doesn't irritate my skin, leaves my dry skin soft without a stripped feeling it doesn't leaves a filmy residue on my skin either! They make you feel really squeaky clean, with a softness left to your skin thats just the right amount of moisture without the feel of any sort of film you can get with other brands. The Dove White bar has this unmistakable type of smell to it that’s very sensual and feminine and will linger on your skin through out the day without over doing it. It’s such a fresh-clean, yummy smell! I’ve always loved the way after a wash the smell fills the bathroom, and then as the doors opened, the scent flows through the rest of the home. I am very sensitive to fragrance on my body and this soap has NO fragrance. The ingredients are simple and effective. You really feel clean after using but not as though your body has been stripped of moisture. The product is odor neutralizing. I live in an extremely hot and humid country and after showering with this I feel clean and refreshed. It is a great option for people trying to avoid or cut down the amount of fragrance used in their routine. I also suffer with psoriasis and this product did not aggravate my condition. This lot should have been recalled. It was labelled "Fragrance Free" but ended up being heavily perfumed. It was obviously a mislabel. I have been using this soap for many years. I e-mailed Kirks a month ago but received no response. I called Swanson. Customer Service. She took the information and the lot numbers on the packages, but that's where it ended. There was no offer to make it right as I expected there would be. I've ordered from Swanson many times in the past, but now I'm reconsidering the future. The soap is fine for showering, but the fragrance will taint things I use it for in the kitchen. There are not many sources for the soap around Long Island, but I will need to travel to one to make sure I get what I need.GregoryS

I prefer this bar soap over the liquid. Nothing wrong with the liquid, my face just feels cleaner using the bar soap. I don't have that tight feeling just fresh and clean. I have oily sensitive skin and I tried the Acne Solutions Foaming Cleanser but it was too harsh for me but my teenagers love it. This bar lasts a really long time so the price is definitely a good value. Sadly, the soap dish no longer comes with this purchase but maybe Clinique will bring back the dish, either with the soap (as before) or as a separate item. I purchased this on a whim I’m glad that I did! When my daughter was a baby/infant/toddler, she would get eczema extremely bad on the back of her thighs. I have been using this bar soap exclusively for as long as I can remember. So much so, that I buy a year's worth at a time. I wish they had noted that they changed the formulation. The new formula is not nearly as rich or smooth and has much cheaper feel. I am now looking for a new brand of bar soap. This is my most essential bath and body item I own. I have been using LOccitanes shea butter soaps for many years now and will not use anything else. I use it in place of shaving creamfoam and find it leaves my skin so much softer. It gives a gorgeous thick lather that is ideal for shaving. I have used every scent of the Loccitane Shea butter soaps but the verbena is my favourite by far and always the one I return to. It is so fresh and clean and slightly fruity. I remember several years ago, I tried a sample of hand lotion in a L'Occitane boutique. I fell in love immediately with the scent and from that moment, I was sold. The soap, lotion and hand cream have been a mainstay in my home since then. It smelled fresh, wholesome , natural and completely unique. This scent is in my opinion, the trademark of the company, something that everyone associated the company with. The original soap was such a nice way to enjoy that scent every day, along with its amazing lather and gentle cleansing. The quality was unmatched It is so disappointing that the company has chosen to change this soap. The new soap is inferior in every way and the new scent is a deal breaker. I must start of that I am a consistent and great fan of Beekman products. Until now. My rating of one star is for how products are sold on line. After I made a purchase for body cream and the order had been paid along came the special deal for the body bar soap. I can’t explain why I touched the tab and before I knew it I had purchased it and the bar soap was added to my order. They had my credit card info and in one split second it was charged to me. There is no easy default button to push and opt out. Although I know That could have called the 800 number or emailed that I did not want the bar soap or even sent it back once it arrived I just became was angry; felt used and advantage of. I recently tried using Dr Bronner's light blue baby Castile Bar Soap, which is different all together (read my review on that) and am switching back and forth depending on how much exfoliation/cleansing my skin needs. I keep this Dove Beauty Bar and any soap bars I have in a reusable soap bar container. However, it's 100% safe to leave out on the shower counter!!! I just prefer to keep my bar in a container bc I have recently been transitioning from body washes to bar soap and want to be extra hygienic! (or am neurotic?) I do predict we will see a trend of an increase in bar soap products in general for 2022 since the packaging isn't made with a plastic container, it's a condensed version of the same thing, and is more environmentally friendly. (Especially when bought in bulk and if it's a cruelty-free soap that has environmental friendly packaging!) Again, I adore that this Dove Beauty Bar in Sensitive Skin Formula is safe for feminine hygiene, gives the perfect amount of lather, is cruelty-free, doesn't irritate my skin, leaves my dry skin soft without a stripped feeling it doesn't leaves a filmy residue on my skin either! Highly recommend will be looking for deals on bulk bars since it's no longer $1, but so far it's holding up nice, not mushy like some creamy soap bars get, another added bonus! We love the smell of original white Dove soap. It is nice and creamy and lathers up very well. It leaves the skin smelling so clean and fresh. It's 1/4 moisturizing cream so you know your skin will be moisturized and not dried out like with some soaps. I like that it's unisex meaning men or women can use it and it's safe enough for baby's sensitive skin. We always have a box under the cupboard and use Dove soaps regularly. Often available in a multi pack you can be assured you'll always have Dove Original soap on hand. The scent is still on your skin hours after a shower. I have been using these soap bars from Dove since I was a preteen! They make you feel really squeaky clean, with a softness left to your skin thats just the right amount of moisture without the feel of any sort of film you can get with other brands. The Dove White bar has this unmistakable type of smell to it that’s very sensual and feminine and will linger on your skin through out the day without over doing it. It’s such a fresh-clean, yummy smell! I’ve always loved the way after a wash the smell fills the bathroom, and then as the doors opened, the scent flows through the rest of the home. That’s how I always knew my Mom was taking a shower. 🤍 On my days off I love to lather a Dove bar into a loofah, to create a rich thick lather and just saturate my body into the soapy, creamy thickness and just let the water from the shower do the rest. Vanicream bar soap was recommended to me by a dermatologist. It is a very good soap for people with very sensitive skin. I’ve had no issues with it. It cleans very well, has no scent but does its job. It’s great for traveling. When you use it, it doesn’t leave a film and it dries instantly after using it. Have always used more gentle cleansers and products. A month ago, the center of my face suddenly became raw, raised spots, and painful. No idea why. Needed something immediately to calm my face and possibly rebuild my barrier. Chose this and the related moisturizer. After one week, all was calm. After three weeks my skin is better than even! I use this mostly as a face cleanser instead of a body wash since it has no fragrance. This stuff removes dirt, oil, and makeup effortlessly. It even melts off my mascara while also being so gentle and hydrating. I bought this bottle 8 months ago and I just now have a quarter of a bottle left! A little goes a long way for body and face wash because it lathers so well. I do get eczema on my face and body and this wash helps to nourish and soothe my skin so well I use it every day and don’t plan on switching to anything else.Vero

Absolultey love this wash. I got a sample from my dermatologist and noticed it was not drying my skin out. I have constant redness on my face (looks like a sunburn). I am 32 and I have always wore sunscreen. I am also starting to develop acne! I love this does not dry my skin out after using it. I use it day and night. I have also got some for my 13 year old son is has acne and his acne has deminsied. His screen looks so much better!! My acne, not so much. But, its worked well for cleaning the daily oils off. For years, my hands were always chapped, but I never drew the connection to my liquid hand soap because it was mild and contained aloe. As a last resort, I completely stopped using that soap and used only bars of Basis soap. Within one day I noticed an improvement. And in just two days, my hands were soft and not swollen anymore! Finally I've found the perfect soap for my dry, sensitive skin due to diabetes and hypothyroidism. It leaves skin clean, soft and not greasy. This is absolutely one of the most spectacular things I've used on my face! I love this (especially for the price). I bought mine just under 2$ at Walmart. I have seriously sensitive and delicate skin and have tried various different washes and brands; none of them had satisfied all my facial needs like this one. I've had a problem with products actually making my face break and dry out even more. After use my face feels refresh, revived, and invigorated. Definitely gives me that morning burst, awakening feeling. To speak of my pores, ever since I started using this soap, I haven't had a single issues with my pores around my nose. This was recommended to me by a dermatologist, and I’ve been using it a month now. I generally avoid using bar soap because they tend to be too drying to my skin. However, this does have me rethinking my stance on them. While it’s not a fun, fruity smell, that’s ok. The smell is pretty blah, but it leaves me feeling super clean but not at all dry and itchy. As some one who has struggled with life long skin issues discovering this soap was a true blessing. Before a dermatologist at Curology recommended this soap to me I’d had to stick to a strict regimen of multiple products to avoid break outs – I literally just use this soap twice a day now and my skin is calm and clear. This is the second time I have bought the Oatmeal and Lavender soap and I can definitely notice a difference in the product's quality. The first time I ordered, I enjoyed using the soap because it reduced my eczema breakouts and it was very gentle on my skin. However, I found that the soap did not lather particularly well, and that bothered me. I like very sudsy soap. But this new one lathers much better and still has all the significant benefits. I like the soap, it calmed my eczema flare up. I wouldn’t really say it healed it because I started using another soap that showed significant healing immediately after every use. I choose to use a different soap and brand because having to purchase a bar of soap online and wait for shipping during a pandemic is just unnecessary. I went with a better option at Sprouts and it’s topped this one. I have been using sebamed soap replacement for decades at the recommendation of my dermatologist. Its an outstanding product. Highly recommended for dry skin, sensitive skin and sweaty armpits. Keeps odour away. Cant recommend Sebamed highly enough.so-snazzy

The color appears lighter on screen but when I tried it, it was a little darker than expected. It says matte but really it looks a little oily, you need to use quite a lot to get it to spread over your whole face. After 10 minutes the foundation would set in and start it get matte but it can rub off easily. It is still good for the price and I would still get it again but maybe a lighter color.natbuc-2933

Considering that it’s February in the northeast, I think the outside elements have just made it too hard for this to be as moisturizing as I’d like it to be. I quickly have to slather my skin in oil to lock in any remaining moisture, otherwise I’d be walking around with pasty, dry hands. Maybe Summer would yield better results. But I appreciate that it’s hypoallergenic, dye-free, and paraben-free. Whatever formulation they currently have for the aloe is too much! It’s way too strong and aloe definitely doesn’t naturally smell like what this bar of soap did. It should be way more subtle and clean, but I was happy to get a chance to test it out. Hopefully they change the formula to be less in your face and add some more moisturizing ingredients in the future.daphride.e

The Dial Clean + Gentle hypoallergenic aloe bar soap is dermatologist tested and free of parabens, dyes, silicone, sulfates, gluten, and phthalates. It’s a great option for anyone that has sensitive skin and is still looking for a bar soap that will kill 99% of bacteria without drying affects. When I used the soap my skin felt soft and clean. With the climate being what it is today it’s wonderful to have an option like this that is hypoallergenic. There are many bar soaps out there that make the skin feel stripped of moisture and tight after usage. I love that this doesn’t do that. I bought this soap hoping it would be close to the Dial 2 in 1 antibacterial and moisturizing soap that Dial discontinued. It is worse than the plain Dial gold soap. EXTREMELY drying to the skin. I used one bar and tossed the rest. Don't buy, save your money. Lately, I have been using the new Dove antibacterial bars.and they sre great. I will not switch back to Dial until they bring back the moisturizing antibacterial soap. I don't know why they discontinued it. It was always sold out and had great reviews.LB

I typically love Naturium products, but was disappointed with this purchase. I bought both the salicylic acid wash and hydrating oil wash. Both were difficult to use due to stuck pumps and I had to keep opening to pull out dip stick and reinsert. Then, upon using, the pump for salicylic acid wash cracked! Very disappointed. Was hoping to see how this product worked for my skin but now that is nearly impossible- nobody wants to have to completely open the package and dump it out into their hands.Naomi

I was a bit skeptical before buying this product because its ultimately fragrance free and i do enjoy an aromatic shower gel. However, i get acne spots in my back that leave dark spots and i absolutely hate it. Now being pregnant, my back got full of red acne and i had to do something. I’ve showered with it twice and the dots are no longer red and they seem to be fading. A few of my regular acne spots are also almost gone. I absolutely love this! My only disclaimers are theses if you have really dry skin as I do, although this product isn’t drying, It doesn’t have enough moisture. Using Kiss My Face olive oil bar soap is honestly a delightful experience. It's a harder bar than brands like Dove tend to produce, and lasts me three to four times as long. It has a fantastic herbal scent with the expected olive oil overtones, and is a medium moisturizer. Shea butter and coconut oil have it beat in that department. The biggest complaint seems to be about soap scum, of which I'd say there's a moderate amount, but that's something that you'll get when using any bar soap. I absolutely f**king hate this soap. I had to use it for a short time when I was living with someone who couldn't be around any type of fragrance. This soap is like washing with sludge. It doesn't smell nice, my skin felt dry and itchy afterward, and yes, it literally looks like green sludge in your shower. Don't even get me started on Kiss My Face's shampoo. My hair actually started falling out because of it. I hate this brand. If you want to walk around like a dirty hippy, go for it. It's not for me.😸.v
