20 Best Milk Frother For Home (Feb 2023 Update)

Not happy with this product. The foam produced was pretty weak. The cold foam option worked the best, although that is not ideal for hot coffee. It burned out and no longer works after about 6 months of not quite daily use. Don't even think about using it for lower fat or non-dairy milks. If you are only going to use plain heavy cream and whole milk, you might find this acceptable, but even with whole milk, I was disappointed with the result. I understand that full fat dairy is the go-to for frothing, but my prior milk frother, which was a different brand, worked great with 2% dairy or cashew milk. I only stopped using it because the coating was scratched. I understand now why this one is half the price.Amber

Frother arrived today, and I was keen to make a cappuccino my wife and I. I filled it with milk, below the max line, and went on to froth the milk. It's pretty quiet, and fairly quick. However, it spilled over A LOT, and that wasn't even at the max line. The foam it makes is really nice, I have to say. Tried it a second time, and this time I filled it well below the max line. It spilled over AGAIN. Not as much as before. If I try even less milk, than this machine is becoming a 1 cup of foam at a time-machine . I've read the instructions, to make sure I wasn't missing anything or doing anything wrong, and it doesn't say anything about spilling over or not putting that amount of milk in it. In fact, the instructions say to do so. I've read a previous review, where someone said the same thing, and I figured it was maybe just a bad apple. So either it's all single people making 1 cappuccino, that are writing these very positive reviews, or I just happen to have a bad apple as well. This will be going back. Too bad, I want to like it. It's a nice size, quiet, quick and makes good foam. But to have it spill over and make a mess each time is not right. Disappointed.Michael

My husband bought this for me and I have used it everyday for the past week since receiving it. I love Instants pressure cooker so I was drawn to this initially because of their name. There's a lot that I love about this appliance and I'm so happy with it as my first electric frother. The exterior is a sleek, flat finish while the inside has that coated protection to make it non-stick. 4 functions include cold, light foam, thick foam and warm which has made it very versatile for my favorite drinks. I can whip up a cold foam or a nice warm froth for my favorite hot beverages. I even used the warming function to have my cold brew as a hot beverage and used it to made a hot chai latte. It's user friendly and straight forward not to mention a very great price point considering its competitors. I have been very careful when washing it as to not get water near the buttons on the unit to hopefully refrain from causing any potential waterlog damages. Each function runs for 3 minutes and then auto shuts off. This honestly beats a hand mixer because I can multi-task while this gets the job done. I’ve been looking at espresso machines for about a year. Didn’t want a big contraption on my kitchen counter. When I saw this Keurig frother, which I got half price when I bought a new coffee maker, i ordered it immediately. It’s straightforward and looked easy to clean. I used it for the first time this morning. It is WONDERFUL. Even on the very first try. I used 2% milk and got a yummy, creamy froth. It was like having coffee in France. I've had the frother for just a short while, but have enjoyed the experience and experimentation with different creamers. I am a fan of flavored creamers and was hoping that this frother could work with them, and so far, aside from Dunkin' brand (Extra Extra) creamer, my results have been quite good! The Dunkin' comes out of the frother with a bit of a frothed head, but just mixes in with the coffee with no froth. Other brands that I have tried (Carnation, International Delight, Baileys) as well as regular 2%milk and half & half have all had a pretty good froth on both hot and cold settings even after pouring them in a hot cup of coffee. Things I like: -The heated froth is very hot and adds to the warmth of the coffee for a longer period of time (I find coffee tends to cool off pretty quickly when brewed alone in the Keurig even at the highest setting, so this warmth will especially be appreciated in the winter!) -The frothing process is simple with this stand alone unit, and I like that the cylinder comes off the electric base which makes filling it and clean up easy. The teflon-like interior cleans very easily by just rinsing with water and a drop of liquid soap. – The unit is much smaller than I anticipated and is about the height of a tall travel mug and resembles a coffee grinder so it does not take up much counter space. The power cord is longer than many kitchen appliances as well. – The Keurig Milk Frother is the QUIETEST appliance I have ever owned. Even a whisper is louder! Some minor Things I'd like improved for a (possible)next generation frother: -The fill lines are impossible to see unless there is a lot of light overhead, perhaps making them a lighter color than the interior would be more user friendly. -The whisk is deep down in the frother unit and has only a short stem which makes it hard to replace after cleaning for someone with large hands or short fingers. A longer stem or a raised section at the bottom of the froth well would help. -The O-ring seal on the plastic cap gets misshapen quickly from removing it and reattaching it for cleaning, perhaps a more rounded, thicker seal would retain it's shape better. -The Price point is higher than many similar units. Obviously this unit is better engineered and has the Keurig name, but a price point $15-$20 lower would be more realistic and I bet would generate more sales. (HINT: I was able to lower the price of mine by using some of my rewards points, so if you have rewards points, this is a good investment!) Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys their Keurig brewer and likes milk or cream/creamer in their coffee. It may be my imagination, but I feel the frothing process actually brings out a more robust taste from each cup of coffee. *One other CLEANING TIP. I have the Keurig Elite Brewer which has a HOT WATER setting. If I remove the drip tray, the frother unit fits perfectly under the brewer handle for an easy, efficient first rinse of the frother (just add a drop of dish soap before brewing the hot water. Then just dump the water, rinse under faucet and wipe with a clean soft cloth.* ENJOY!RJJA

This is one little gadget that is well worth it! I use mine pretty much daily. Easy to use, and easy to clean. Do read the directions! Do Remove the whisk for cleaning. It is important for proper use to be clean of milk fats and residue for next use. I have used different milks to make the froth, and found that some work better than others. Skim works very well, producing a drier foam. 2 % works well, producing a stiff peak but wetter foam. I've used almond milk, too, as well as low percent fat creamers of various flavors. Whole milk, half and half, light to heavy creams do NOT work well. Best invention on the market! It has more than paid for itself with the number of uses I have has so far!Chrale

I find this model froths quicker and firmer than my old original model . It takes my cappuccinos to a WOW level. However, I find that this new model only makes enough froth for one cappuccino at a time, as the barrel is smaller. Overall, I love this magic machine.ANNA

Zwilling frother is easy to use, easy to clean and elevates your everyday coffee. I love the stainless steel container (no worries about harmful chemicals as would be with a nonstick coating). The container swaps rates for pouring and is a breeze to clean. I use 2% milk and it heats and froths beautifully- just like a coffee shop latte. No going back to flat milk in my coffee anymore. This frother is just what we were looking for: a stainless steel vessel without unnecessary nonstick coating. It delivers high quality froth and automatically heats to a temperature that is not scalding. It is very quiet in operation. It takes several minutes to go through the frothing and heating cycle, but my hunch is that it takes longer than other frothers on the market because it heats the milk gently. It would be perfect if the internal frother wand was also stainless, not plastic, but it is very difficult to find plastic-free products these days. In sum, highly recommend.KARI

I've had it 3 weeks, using every day and it is probably the best purchase I have made all year. Can't get to Starbucks these days, but now I can make my own Chai Tea Latte – as you see in the picture! Frothier and so delicious in literally 2 minutes. No Assembly, just add 2 AA batteries and you are good to go. DIRECTIONS for my pictured drink: I use plain Soymilk (1/2 cup), heat it in the microwave in my coffee cup, then pour that into my frothing cup (which for me is a tall drinking glass, lol) and put an 1/8 cup of Tazo Classic Chai Tea liquid into the micro for 15 seconds (in the now empty coffee cup), while I use the Zulay Frother on my warm soymilk in the glass (tilt it a little while pressing the button on top). It literally takes like 10 seconds to froth because I like a whole lot of froth! Then you let it sit for 10 seconds while you run the Zulay under water to clean off the milk, dab it dry with a cloth, put it back on it's stand and then pour your milk into your warmed Chai Tea. Let the milk run into the cup first (like they do at Starbucks), then just let the froth fill up the rest of the cup. It is amazingly quick and scrumptious! No more going without! lattes!!Bourbon

We have had the Zulay frother for just over a year. Can't tell how much we love what it does to our coffee. We pour our coffee creamer in first and froth – Wow so nice. Then add the coffee and a few other extra supplement powders and froth again – it's awesome! A few months ago it started acting up, like the power connections were no longer strong and we needed to press on battery compartment to get it to work. Today I called Zulay Kitchens and told them what was happening. They REALLY do stand behind their products and they are sending us another frother at no charge.The reason I bought this frother tobegin with was because of the warranty. This is the first frother I have ever purchased. I was nervous because of some reviews given. However, I think this is the coolest little gadget. Pop in your batteries and you are all set. I like how it comes with its own individual stand to allow it to not get squished. I like that I can control the speed of the mix as in the push button. After using it a couple of times I did read the box for ‘better performance’ and it’s true. Allowing it to mix at a 45 degree angle gives it more froth. This handy tool makes drinking coffee with ‘no sugar’ creamer taste good. Gives my coffee a foamy feel and taste that I enjoy. I’m not a coffee ‘snob’ so I am not sure what others are expecting. I received the Miroco Milk Frother as a Christmas gift from a friend that knew I love lattes, and it has been one of the best/most used gifts. Super easy to clean/rinse- recommend rinsing right after use so easier. The buttons are super simple, and there's even a cold setting if it's a warm day and you want a cold latte. (Make sure to read the milk lines inside the machine though so you don't overflow). My family enjoyed this so much over the holidays as well that I purchased one for my mother-in-law for her birthday as well. Saves you so much money on buying lattes, and you can be creative. Love making my own London Fogs, and other tea lattes as well. Works great with soy milk/substitution milk too if you have other preferences beyond regular milk. When your day gets dull, just make something in your milk frother and honestly that pick me up boosts my day. I wanted to replicate the London Fog Teas at well known coffee shop at home. This works beautifully. I have experimented with a lot of different non-dairy milks to find the ones that get the best froth. Silk, Blue Diamond Almond Milk, and Planet Oat all make an extra creamy version that whips up frothy and dreamy in this. I am also making Matcha Lattes too! It truly controls the amount of froth – high, medium low/none. I have been using this almost daily since I bought it a year or more ago. I am thinking about buying one for my mom too for Christmas! I bought my milk café 18 months ago. I did a good deal of research on electric milk frothers before purchasing it. One of its selling points to me was the stainless steel jug (versus one that’s plastic or lined with a non-stick material). I have used my frother once a day and have taken good care of the machine from day one. Three days ago the milk café stopped frothing and produced lukewarm milk. I tested it 3 more times to make sure that it wasn’t a one-off glitch and it’s still not frothing and the milk is only lukewarm on my usual setting. I have read some of the 1-star reviews on this site and noticed similar problems. Today I called Breville’s customer service. The person I spoke to was very accommodating. However, they can only offer to repair my machine for $65 + tax with a 6-month warranty (or replace it, if it’s not repairable). I realize that my warranty expired 6 months ago, but I feel that for the price I paid (upper end of others I researched), it should last longer than 18 months without having to be repaired for $65. I am now researching other models and will not buy anything from Breville in the future. Too bad as it was a good machine … until it wasn’t!Mandy

Reliable use for 2 years so far with no problems. I like this for the temperature control and that it is not lined with additives. It also is distinguished in its higher volume capacity. I don't own a dishwasher, but cleaning this is very simple and no fuss. I usually use 16 ounces or go to the max line, but have used minimum when I was low on milk. Usually use whole milk, Sometimes made hot cocoa, but usually am adding to coffee, tea/chai, or matcha. I do not like the amount of air in the "cappuccino" frother, so I use the other one. Sometimes I used to also use a French press for that thickening of pumping the milk through the sieve, but I need the Breville for precise temp control. I heat milk to make iit easier to digest and the heat sweetens it. (See James Hoffmann on his you tube for making milk drinks without an espresso machine where he discusses ideal temperature.) I guess this was my "pandemic splurge" as before I had been heating milk on stovetop and using a thermometer to avoid scalding, which required vigilance. The only issue I ever had was when I was at fault as I reread directions. Once, the base was not on a level surface, so that was the only time it did not heat. Once I did not press the disk in firmly. AND when I was at fault for not putting in a disk at all, it did begin to scald because it needs to keep the milk moving. Those 3 errors were not following directions, were rectified , and the thing has been working fine ever since.Mady

I was on WS.com today looking for a coffee maker (again) and saw our good old Breville Milk Frother and thought it deserved a review. The first thought that popped into my head was that I recall thinking it was a lot of money to spend on a fancy milk stirrer (as did my husband, lol) — and my second thought was that it was totally worth it! I’ve since lost count of the myriad coffee makers we’ve owned and tossed in the last 10 years while our Breville Frother just keeps churning along. Seriously, this is the oldest electric appliance in our home that is used every single day. Hopefully the newer ones are still made as well as ours 🙂 One side note, and part of the reason it gets so much use in our home is that it came with two magnetic discs — my husband likes foam and uses the vented one, while I just like hot (unscalded) milk and use the solid one. It really is such a handy kitchen tool if you love hot milky beverages. This was our first frothing device of any kind and I doubt we will ever be without one again. As far as I know, the Aeroccino4 is better and more convenient than any other non-commercial option out there. That said, there is one important thing to know before owning one, which is the type and freshness of the milk DOES matter. Most milk has enough protein content to produce a robust emulsion, but milk substitutes like almond milk have less proteins and will create a less dense foam. But even with regular milk, over time, the proteins will start to break down in storage and will not be able to produce a foam nearly as well as fresh milk, if at all. I have found most milk to be 'foamable' for 7 days (give or take) after purchase. In this case, it is worth looking for the freshest milk at the store based on the expiration date. Knowing that will help avoid those issues that some people are running into. While I really love this product, I am only rating 4 stars because it is quite expensive for what it is. Since anyone can buy one of these, Nespresso should consider giving a discount on this product to people who already own a registered nespresso machine, since they are typically loyal customers spending lots of $ on espresso pods anyway. Mine was a gift, but I felt bad when I saw how much it was. Just sayin…Dan

After a few years of use, I too am having the issue of "scorching on one side of the bottom" I wrote to Nespresso and they have given the basic response of "clean it better". Well, I have done nothing different, used the same milk, always clean after each use. I love the machine, but one can only ask themselves, "If I am doing the same thing over and over and previously the machine had no problems and now the machine does have problems, is it me or the machine?" I would have to say it is the machine…. (design, age of components, heat damage, etc) so Nespresso has a choice, make a better machine or just tell us they only last so long. I love all things Nespresso and as coffee snobs, I think we don't mind spending a lot of money on machines but that doesn't change the fact that it A LOT of money. I purchased this more expensive device after the AEROCCINO3 I purchased stopped working. I reported that to Nespresso and though they seemed interested in helping, nothing came out of that. So I bought this one thinking that the higher price point would have come with something that would have stopped the milk overflow issue I was having. It didn't. I purchased this item because I liked the fact that the electrical part was separate from the jar. Previously I had one that it was everything integrated and cleaning was hard because you don't water to get in, and that's how it got messed up. So I was looking for something exactly like this. It is a nice size and I love the fact that I can select 2 different temperatures for hot, besides cold.I give it 4 stars because it is a tiny bit too loud for my liking, but is not a deal-breaker. It's super easy to use, you just flip the switch to the on position. It's super powerful, so it froths up the milk in practically no time. It's also easy to wash… you just put a little bit of dish soap in a cup of water, turn the frother on to lather it up with bubbles, then quickly run some water on it to get the suds off. Then you just turn it on again to dry it because it just whips the water right off. I really recommend this frother if you like to make coffee and tea drinks like you get at coffee shops. I've used a few different types of milk frothers and the Bodum is disappointing relative to the others. It takes more milk than my other frothers and produces less foam. It primarily produces hot milk with a wee bit of foam – not the cappuccino experience I was hoping for. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't purchase again.Lesley A.

Okay, so I carefully read all the reviews before purchasing. A lot of them said it stops working quickly, don’t buy. But a few said it works great if you take good care of it. I thought, well, I’m extremely careful and caring with my appliances- so I gave it a try. Month One- perfect hot froth everyday! Delicious, I’m in love. (I’ll add I carefully followed all instructions and cleaned with a damp towel until spotless BEFORE I even sipped my coffee.) Month Two- not quite as frothy. Okay, well I thought maybe it had a little build up I can’t see. So I carefully followed the instructions to add a couple drops mild soap to water and run, then rinse and run clean water. Check. Didn’t help n the least, I think it was completely clean already tbh. Month Three- put in milk, watch it spin, once stopped NO FROTH, just warm milk. ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ARE TRUE!!!!! DO NOT BUY WITHOUT WARRANTY. It’s a bummer, but I’m upgrading today. Also, I love to read reviews, but always take them with a grain of salt. In this case the bad reviews were spot on.juliemelinda

I really, really wanted to love this product. I wanted to think that maybe the negative reviews were just that a handful of the devices had issues or something, that the positive reviews were more realistic. I got one cup of frothed milk out of this machine. One. After that, every time I try to use it, the thing makes a horrendous amount of noise that is audible from outside of my house, and it doesn't froth the milk at all. If I take out the frothing attachment to stop the noise, then the milk doesn't even heat properly. I have tried at length to look for solutions or troubleshooting steps, to see if there's some mistake I've made or some reason it's doing this that I can fix so that this isn't an entirely wasted purchase. Nothing. There's nothing. Five pages deep in multiple searches and nothing. Just either people complaining or websites "reviews" that just parrot the manufacterer's specs. Incidentally, it's also a HUGE pain to clean, the stainless steel interior does nothing to help with the fact that there's always a swath of scorched milk on the bottom that has to be scraped off by hand. I can't believe I wasted my money on this.MR

I'm so disappointed by this frother. To start with the good: It actually makes pretty good foam by my standards – a stiff foam with skim milk, a looser & more "silky" foam with whole milk – and if you pour it immediately after it finishes frothing, the foam is nicely incorporated in with the milk (though if you wait even ten seconds, though, it's more separated out & doesn't mix as nicely with my coffee.) It's quiet, compact, and surprisingly inexpensive. However, despite that, I find that it's impractical & difficult to use, particularly if you want multiple cups of coffee for yourself or others. I like a decent amount of milk with my espresso, so one full round of foam is about one cup's worth for me. However, every time I use this machine, a small amount of milk always burns in one spot on the bottom of the reservoir and if I don't immediately clean it off (which is annoying & difficult to do) it'll burn even worse on the second round of milk and it will auto-switch off before that milk is fully heated & frothed. So, in order to make coffee for two, I froth one round of milk, quickly try to clean the hard-to-scrub area inside the unit, run it a second time, and then clean it again, all before getting to enjoy my coffee. Then multiply that out if we want multiple cups! It's delicious, but it's such a hassle that half the time I just microwave my milk and skip the froth altogether. Like many other reviewers, I bought this to accompany my nespresso; I'm not super-particular & I don't need perfect foam but I do need something functional. This foam is good but it still fails that test. I would have preferred to pay twice as much for an easier-to-use unit.Rachel

My wife started whipping the creamer she put in her coffee with a handheld whip. She enjoys the frothy cream like you get at one of the coffee bars. I purchased the Miroco frother for her birthday. She uses it every day. It turns milk or cream into a thick, warm froth and she thoroughly enjoys her coffee this way. It came perfectly packaged, instructions are easy to follow and it works like a dream. When it froths the milk it is almost silent and the quality of the foam is great. I have used skim milk and half and half so far. It's easy to clean, just rinse and wipe out with a soft cloth. I recently purchased a Nespresso machine so I am having fun making cappuccinos! If there is one thing I would improve is I wish the milk would get a bit hotter. Overall I highly recommend. Love it!Rubyred

This little thing does an awesome job whisking a cappuccino-style foam, really rich and thick. A decent latte-style foam too. Although it’s nowhere near the quality of a steam stick frother. You definitely won’t be able to draw latte art with this foam. Also, it’s pretty slow – takes several minutes to produce a cup of foam, and that’s just for one person! Overall, I’d say you can’t expect anything more than that for $41. And for that kind of money it does a fantastic job. To do a better job you would need a “real” frother, with a boiler and a steam stick. And that would be hundreds of dollars at the very least.Y.

No argument, this is an expensive addition to the kitchen but, it is flexible and performs very well with whole milk producing a good result. I have not tried cold drinks or other milk types yet. The different settings produce a range of froths and even really good chocolate ( I crumble up several (10) giant plain chocolate drops ) on the chocolate setting. This had been recommended by a previous purchaser. A smooth Horlicks drink is easy using the hot milk setting and no sticky lumps are left in the drink! Above all, the unit is easy to rinse and wash out. Care needs to be taken with storage of the "whiskers" since I can imagine they could easily be lost/ mislaid. I wash them up immediately and dry them after use and place in their special "hiding place"Elsheppo

As one would expect from Smeg, another excellent product. To have that density of froth on our drinks, is perfect. It looks so good in the kitchen, that I am tempted to purchase the kettle. I had discovered, during lockdown 2, the Chocolate Shop in Clitheroe, which became an obligatory end point afor a steaming cup of rich hot chocolate after a long cold walk – and inspired by it, last month even indulged myself with this SMEG hot chocolate maker in advance preparation for another cold winter ahead. I always think ahead – and in my defence, it does also make the most amazing frothed milk for my daily one cup of coffee. I had pumped The Chocolate Shop asssistants for the secret to their unctuous drink – and I can share it with you. It is not cocoa powder – and as for any low calorie ersatz powder such as 'Options' or even the promising Cadburys or Bournville version – perish the thought right now and suspend any calorie counting for the day, as the secret lies in …. Chocolate Buttons! Although you can use skimmed milk, non diary versions such as almond or coconut 'milk' or even water if you must, to offset the highly calorific excess. These chocolate buttons should be 'Giant' versions a quantity of which to your taste (don't hold back) are simply added to the liquid of your choice and simply melted in it – but don't boil it. You won't need to add sugar, so making it positively a healthy and essential winter requirement! I am now prepared – and thank you John Lewis!Yvonne S

Have 2 –one scorches from the beginning, and the other started scorching at about 8 months. There is a crescent shaped scorch mark that forms after each use, needs soaking and cleaning and then now does not come off at all. It is as if the non-stick coating has completely eroded away there and made a permanent burn. I do soak it in cold water and clean by hand each use but this is now at an unacceptable level. Plus, I don't want to be ingesting more of that that non-stick coating as it continues to wear away. I called Customer Service and had the bad one replaced under warranty. I recommend if you get one that scorches that you just call in immediately because it will just get worse. Consider just running on the cold mode–long press until the light turns blue. Then it won't heat or scorch. 4 stars because it does a great job otherwise, 1 star because they honored the warranty. 1 star lost because of the failure.TallLady

I absolutely loved this frother. It was a nice small device that created some beautiful foam. Used it daily for almost a year but then it stopped working. The milk is warm but it ends up watery with bubbles. A friend told me it probably shorted out partially because I stored it on its base plugged in. Apparently I missed the guidance to not store it on its base. So I bought a new version on Amazon and it sucks. I miss this one. I’m debating now between a repurchase of this one or upgrading to the barista. But hope that if I store it off the base this time it will last.Toftie

The Aeroccino is a convenient, easy-to-use, quality milk frother. While the instructions in the book were rather limited, the setup and assembly/disassembly is simple – consisting of the electrical base, the milk frother container, the clear lid, and the mixer/frothing whisk. This made it easy to set-up and clean. This device and its parts all feel great quality and long-lasting. The possibilities are endless, I was almost overwhelmed with where to start. The box says there are 20 recipes but when I navigated to their Nespresso Recipes website online and filtered it to "Aeroccino Inspirations", there were only 9 drink recipes. However, these recipes and some YouTube videos helped spark some creativity though. This device made it very easy and hassle-free to recreate the coffee shop experience at home. It's set it and forget it – you simply add the ingredients, select the heating or cold frothing mode, and the machine runs for the predetermined amount of time (60-80 sec). You would typically brew the coffee separately and then add the milk froth on top of the coffee to make a cappuccino, or add the coffee on top of the milk froth to make a latte. You can also make lattes directly in this device by using instant coffee and milk; the device will heat, mix, and froth the drink for you. This device is also great for making matcha lattes, which typically requires a lot of whisking to dissolve the matcha powder, but this machine again makes it very convenient. You can also make cold drinks by adding the ice directly to the machine or pouring your creation over ice. The device itself is very quiet, barely making a hum. All of these features make it quick and quiet to use in the morning before running to work. The quality of the milk froth is great, it's a nice extra touch to both hot and cold coffee drinks. The frother works great for both whole and semi-skimmed milk. It's not intended for milk substitutes like almond milk, and it doesn't work well for these types of milk. The container is limited to 250 mL/8 oz capacity of liquid, otherwise you risk it from overflowing, but it is quick to whip up multiple servings. Overall, this milk frother feels like a premium addition to any coffee experience, any coffee lover would enjoy it. It particularly pairs well the premium machines and coffee you can expect from Nespresso. I'm enjoying trying all the different possibilities.bapesta

This design is the one you want because it is easy to clean thoroughly. Other Bodum frothers have a domed lid that can't be taken apart but can get dirty dish water inside so is impossible to know how clean it is. The glass is still fragile so you will want to pump the frother only when the glass is resting on a pot holder, a cork mat or another surface that provides some resilience. The advantage of using this frother rather than the steamed milk attachment on your espresso machine is that you do not dilute the milk and how get a much firmer foam. This is easy to clean and works great. The directions are pretty straight forward. I used 2% with a little flavored coffee creamer and filled up to the line. I heated the milk in the microwave until slightly warmer than room temperature and beat the milk for about a minute until it doubled and let it set. it is dishwasher safe, although I hand washed the lid. This would be a nice gift for any coffee lover or to make an extra special cup of coffee on the weekend. This is the best and my daughter stole mine so I had to get a new one!!LLS69

Hubby is a coffee snob and has just entered the world of making cappuccinos. This is his first milk frother, and he loves how it effectively froths the oat milk he uses. It takes about 100 pushes up and down, and then he pours it on top of his freshly made coffee. The only place for improvement is that the lid is a little loose and some milk comes out while using the item. Other than that, it is something we continue to look forward to using on the weekends.Gusmama

I bought one suggested by a friend who had "one" . It stopped powering on after few weeks of medium use (once every 1-2 days). When it worked, it frothed very well. So tried buying another. And another. An another. Finally learned my lesson: It's not durable. I tried another brand that has 3AA (rather than its 2AA) and it has not died on me; I've had it over a year. I had an expensive milk frother and , seriously, this little tool generated as much if not more delicious froth! I used oat milk, warmed it up as per the instructions and followed what the pamphlet said to do…voila! Does not need its own stand as the base is flat and the wand stands up on its own. Just bought it and made my first latte with it. Super impressed for such a small wand. It really does a great job. I used it with oat milk. Doesn't take more than a min or 2 to get to desired froth. Depends how frothy you like your milk. Mine was super frothy. Comes with batteries too. Already in the compartment at the bottom of the handle. Just slide the black cap off. Great purchase.
