I thought I loved this. I really enjoyed the transition to powder foundation at first. Upon application it looks good (really good) but it settles into every pore and just looks awful as the day goes on. I used it for a few months and it just didnt work for me anymore. If you have baby smooth skin Id say give it a try. The product it self has great coverage and feels good on the skin.Y.

If that’s the case try to set the concealer with the Youngblood setting powder and keep the loose foundation powder away from under the eyes. Warm up the concealer with your finger tips first also. I work in and out of the kitchen. And this product is amazing as it doesn't clog my pores or cause outbreaks. It's buildbable in areas where you need it or where it all over. No fragrance no skin irrations. A little goes a long way and the product last me for at least 3mths. I would recommend using a setting spray after application to make it last longer. I wear the product up to 12hrs and even with the sweat and heat from the kitchen still looks good.Well worth it.Taya M.

Claims: Improves skin texture – I dont know if I would necessarily say it improves texture but it doesn't emphasize or cause my skin to look more texture than it is. Reduce look of pores – I actually think this is pretty accurate. I didnt find that my skin looked like I had visible pores, TAKE THAT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT I tend to only have noticble pores around my nose and on my nose. And my pores are not pronounced. Reduce visible redness – I would expect that of literally any foundation. I think this claim is kind of a no duh kind of statement. I wouldn't expect a foundation to NOT reduce visible redness, so I dont get the idea that this is revolutionary. Application: They recommend finger application, which i tend to hate but only because I don't like using my fingers to apply any product. If using a brush make sure your brush is clean and go over with tapping motions or you will see streaks. My preferred method is the sponge, the coverage goes down, but the finish is honestly incomparable. Coverage: Medium coverage (dosagree) I think this is a more light coverage foundation at best, especially if you use a sponge (which honestly looks the best on the skin). Its buildable though and you can mix this with other foundations to get a fuller coverage. WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU This foundation plays EXTREMELY well with others, meaning, I had no issue cocktailing and mixing foundations and other products to make this an even more enjoyable experience for myself. I tried this foundation out for a (small, socially distanced) gathering with friends this weekend and I do really like it! I mixed it with a bit of tinted moisturizer and primer and it blended really well with a beautyblender. It applied about medium coverage and could be built up to more full coverage. I did need a little concealer under my eyes to cover dark circles, but I'm not totally surprised as this is not billed as a full coverage foundation. I set this with Laura Mercier powder and applied the rest of my makeup. I wore it for 8-10 hours total and by the time I took it off, it was still in really great shape on most of my face. The only problem areas were my undereyes and my nose. My undereyes were noticeably creased, but I can't blame that entirely on the foundation as I used concealer too. I wore a mask to the gathering and I was blowing my nose a lot due to allergies, and the foundation was mostly rubbed off my nose by the end of the night BUT it did so in a way that didn't look awkward or obvious, it just kind of faded from no foundation to foundation which was nice. I would definitely use this again but I'm not sure I'd repurchase it. The coverage was nice and the wear time was very good. The color match is almost perfect which was impressive, it's just a bit lighter in color than I'd typically use. I don't love that this rubbed off my nose so much and I do think the mineral texture made this a little drier and cakier than I'm really comfortable with. If you can zoom in on the picture, you'll see lots of visible pores around my cheeks and nose and cakiness around my forehead and chin. I'll continue to cocktail this with my other favorites to finish off the bottle, but I already have other foundation favorites that I prefer to this one.vamp3133

It took some trial and error to learn how to best apply this but now that I have I’m really enjoying this foundation. It’s lightweight yet gives enough coverage to cover any redness and even out skin tone. It’s definitely more of a light to medium coverage foundation which I prefer. I have combination skin that leans more dry in the winter and oily in the summer. Right now my skin is on the drier side due to the cold winter weather. When I first applied this with a beauty blender which is my go to application method I did not like it. It clung to the dry patches on my skin and just looked really patchy. I tried it with a brush which was a little bit better but still kind of patchy. I found the best way to apply is with your fingers. When doing it this way it gives a beautiful smooth finish. I normally don’t like to apply with my fingers because it’s messy but it’s a must with this foundation. It comes out very thin almost watery so make sure you apply it quickly once it’s on your face. It’s important that you hydrate well and use primer when applying this foundation. I received the shade light beige 09 and when I first saw it in the bottle I didn’t think it would match because it looked a little on the orange side but once I applied it I found that it actually matched pretty well. I have light skin with neutral undertones that lean more on the cool side. I really enjoyed the pump and that you were able to close it which makes it easy and convenient for traveling. I also loved the ingredients and that it’s paraben free, silicone free, and chemical sunscreen free. It’s also cruelty free which is extremely important to me when purchasing beauty products. I was a long time user of Bare Minerals, but their lightest shade was always too dark for my skin. I switched to Dermaflage and their lightest shade (porcelain) was almost a perfect match. However, Dermaflage is a hard brand to find and I wanted to branch out in case one day it's no longer available. I was disappointed when it really got down to it how few powder foundations with spf were available, let alone with a good shade selection, and good ingredients. I have pale, extremely sensitive, acne prone skin. I'm so glad I decided to try this foundation finally (I'd had my eye on it for awhile). Shade Ivory is lighter than both Bare Minerals' lightest shade and Dermaflage's! Also this foundation wears better than both I'd tried previously. I've had zero issues with the coordinating case for this makeup. Yes, it's just a cheap plastic case, but it opens and shuts just fine. And people who are having trouble removing the makeup pan from it, there's a hole on the back to push a paper clip or pin through to pop the pan out.Rose05

This looks SO sparkly in the pan so I admit I was nervous to put it on my face. This is one of the most flattering “sun kissed” type of natural blush I have honestly ever used. It blends so easily and is super pigmented, but easy to blend out if you get too much. The glimmer in the pan looks completely different than on your cheeks. On your cheeks it gives you a soft dewy glow that looks like a very natural highlight without looking like glitter. I love that I can just use this blush without feeling like I’m missing a highlight and it gives you a very youthful look. Also very cute to put on the bridge or tip of the nose.. and Cherry Blossom is the perfect tone for my skin and hair. I am a huge fan of the PurePressed Blush in Sheer Honey. It is a stunning natural looking sheer color without pink undertones. For reference, I have ivory skin and strawberry blonde hair and this color is perfect; I have used it for years and it is my favorite color. The blush container is a gorgeous compact to use each morning and it is so easy to apply. You only need to apply a small amount to your blush brush to get a nice effect so the blush lasts a long time.Marcia L.

Have been using this foundation for over a year now and I’ve never looked back. It gives a natural finish while covering blemishes and lasts all day (even after hitting the pool). The circumstances for when I first got this foundation we're totally a coincidence. I had gotten a BareMinerals gift of another one of my favorite products in a shade that was too dark. Prom was also coming up and I needed a foundation that would keep me matte and look good in pictures. So I went to the BareMinerals store and asked if they had any matte foundations, to which I discovered this. Never have I loved a foundation more. I have combo oily skin and this keeps me so so matte, but with a perfectly natural finish. The way my skin looks in this is like a "your skin but better" product. My oily mother normally sticks to the products she's used for years, but the minute she tried this we both had to run out and buy it for our summer and winter shades. It's AMAZING!! I couldn't even understand why it didn't have all 5 stars, but I'm assuming that it is probably a better foundation for oily skin (like most matte foundations are). I use this on top of the Combo Control Milky Face Primer also by BareMinerals, and the compliments for perfect skin don't stop coming (and I have some major acne scarring, so I'm far from perfect😭)Gatito Enthusiast

There are a lot of wonderful things about this foundation: 1) It is definitely full coverage 2) Easy to apply 3) Doesn't cause break outs 4) Matches my skin tone perfectly However, there are a few things keeping me from loving it: 1) It looks cakey and dry on my skin. Even though I have super oily skin, it still somehow manages to look dry and patchy in some areas (even though those spots still end up being oily). 2) It doesn't have the stay power I was hoping it would have. It stays pretty well for the first 6 hours but then starts to wear off. It seems to stay put longer on cooler, less active days so it's probably because of my oiliness. 3) It doesn't mattify as well as I would have liked. Like I said above, it definitely looks dry and patchy on the skin in areas, but my oily skin still shines through. However, some areas stay nicely matte. I have tried wearing it with and without foundation, but I don't see any differences between the application, wearability, stay power, and patchiness. Overall, I like enough to keep it and am going to keep experimenting with it to see if I can overcome the small issues. It is definitely better than most foundations I've tried. Wow. That’s all I can say. Pros- – wide color range with pictures distinctly labeled warm , cool, neutral, making it very easy to find your perfect color – unlike most long wearing foundations, this doesn’t look chalky, thick, or mask like. It ends up looking like skin not like a thick layer of makeup applied to your face. -I have combination skin that’s very easily dried out and then gets flaky and oily, I bought a dewy setting spray from Walgreens to give this a nice satin finish. If your skin is normal you will probably get the satin finish from this alone. Ten years ago I tried the bare minerals powder and a tube lipstick that was shown. I did not care for the lipstick, it went on with an uneven texture, didn’t have a nice finish, and didn’t wear well. The powder foundation was much too yellow and didn’t look nice on my combination skin that’s often much to dry for anything other than a cream. You guys have really stepped it up with bare pro and the mineral liquid lipstick! Blown away by the color selection you offer that includes everyone. I absolutely love this stuff. I'll be honest, it's rare for me to use up a makeup product. But I have not only used this powder up once, but multiple times. It makes reapplying SPF easier, and I even apply this over sunscreen, even if I'm not wearing makeup because it makes skin look so nice. It adds just a hint of coverage, and is somehow matte where you need it, and glowy where you need it. It's a very slept on product. Also, I'm very acne prone, and not only has this never broken me out, I feel it actually benefits my complexion. The only downsides are that I don't think the translucent shade is actually translucent for everyone. I'm very fair, and I make it work, but it does deposit color. I don't see it working on deeper skin tones. Also, I super wish Physician's Formula would change their packaging. It's such a bulky compact.iHerb Customer

I really wanted to love this since I have been looking for a long time for a powder with good SPF to reapply during the day. My skin is oily, acne-prone and sensitive, so I'm picky about ingredients and I was happy to find a compact that was mineral-based and talc-free. But the bad packaging really turns an excellent product into one that's just OK. Firstly, the clasp on mine broke almost instantly, meaning it won't stay closed. The brush it comes with is tiny, cheap, and difficult to use. So much powder gets wasted before you can even get any on your face. I threw the brush out and use a regular puff now. Lastly, the "translucent" shade is misleading. It works OK with some blending for me, but it would be way too dark for anyone who is very fair, and other light skin tones may find this a little on the orange side. I'll likely repurchase since there aren't a lot of alternatives, but I think this could be a truly amazing product with just a couple of improvements!masilea

I've tried 6 or 8 times to get this to work, but it just doesn't. You can't put it over cream products (like foundation or BB cream), even long after they have dried, because it collects in sheets of weird surface debris. You can't put it over powder products (like retouching your powder), or it separates and becomes very patchy. I bought it to reapply sunscreen later in the day, but it just makes your face look horrible. If you try to fix it with a sponge — wet or dry — the only way you can revert to a human-looking face is if you rub it off. Which defeats the whole purpose of an SPF powder. Great idea, poor execution. Wish there was an affordable sunscreen powder that actually worked well.Becky

Five years ago, I walked into a store telling staff I needed a foundation that would make me look polished, but not cover my freckles, and that was suitable for very sensitive, eczema-prone skin; I had had problems with foundation beforehand and tried many different brands and formulas. I was recommended the matte powder foundation by BareMinerals. It makes skin look like skin and is buildable in problem areas if needed. Others assume I do not wear foundation at all and just have incredible skin, so conversations on this topic have led several enthusiasts to this product. I have always only heard great feedback afterwards. It's also so easy to use with any brush of your preference, though I personally like small kabukis most. Also, the container can be opened at the end of its life cycle to fully get out all remaining product. The amount lasts for months, and application still looks marvelous in the evening. I will NEVER stray from this powder. I prefer this formula to the original because the latter contains bismuth oxychloride, which can irritate super sensitive skin. A teacher of mine who once commented on my skin had actually tried the original before and found herself looking too shiny. She is now completely sold to the matte version as well.WavyLikeTheSea

Seems silly writing a review for this product. It's been around forever and has a cult following already! It is truly the best foundation ever. Great for oily skin. Love that it has SPF. Looks natural but yet covers nicely with buildable coverage and the only foundation I have a true perfect color match! I only hope bareminerals never changes the formula or colors like they have done on their other foundations…..big mistake. Don't fix what's not broken! I googled foundation swatches for two days and even went through Bareminerals product shade consultant. Still I ended up buying two colours (light and golden medium) because I was not sure which shade matched my skin the best. Anyway, I am so glad that Bareminerals is making yellow based powder foundations along with pink and neutrals. Many companies do not. I have added a picture comparing the two colours. 'Light' is supposedly a yellow based colour but looks slightly pinkish (neutral?) on me. Overall it is a good powder foundation. Can build up the coverage from light to full. Key to applying this is to blend it thoroughly with a flat brush. Going on with a round and round blending motion helps to achieve a natural looking finish more than stippling it around. If you want to go very heavy, dampen the powder a little and stipple it to the skin. I have combination skin heavy on the oily side and this managed to keep it non-oily for several hours. Although my primer and setting spray must help with that. too. Container has a slide open and close mechanism where you can slide the opening to allow the powder to fall when you want and then close it tightly, so powder will not go everywhere while on the go. I have a Golden Glow (PurePressed and Amazing Base) skin color match. Medium olive, golden, yellowish. Hadn’t tried Liquid Minerals before, but first wanted to try the new tinted serum. Loved it, but it wasn’t a good color match for my skin. I exchanged it (Medium 4) for the Golden Glow Liquid Minerals and it could not have been a better match!! I moisturize before and use a light dusting of PurePressed powder after application (as well as a few spritzes of Pommist). It’s beautiful…not drying and feels great on my skin…and no allergic reaction to any of the ingredients, which was a huge issue before discovering Jane Iredale!! I have also purchased the Powder Me SPF in Golden for another option for over the Liquid Minerals when I need more protection than what the PurePressed offers. So…since Liquid Minerals is being discontinued (very sad for us hard to match skin colors), I have purchased three more so I can keep it on hand! So the question is…What do I do when I eventually run out?!! This is the best foundation combo I have used by Jane Iredale-and I have strictly used JI for at least the last 15 years!! No allergic or breakout problems! What a relief! At this point I am 71 and now have Normal to Dry skin instead of the oily skin that I had early on, so some changes in my JI products have evolved. Color matches my complexion perfectly (neutral, medium skin with olive undertones= Suntan). It feels nice and light, and very moisturizing. The downside is I find it difficult to blend into my skin– either directly on top of my moisturizer or over the Smooth Affair primer. I use fingers and brush recommended and still find it a little streaky as well as settling into my pores (not the look I'm after!). I will keep it for when I want a more formal, made up look, as I think with adding a setting powder it would look pretty good. But, definitely won't be using for everyday wear. I used the shade matcher (older version), worked with the PUR team, bought six (unfortunately still have five) different shades of powder, but I finally have a match!!! The first shade I was matched with was Medium Dark (DG1). It was wwaaayyy too light and is sitting in my makeup drawer collecting dust. Next, I was matched with Deep (DP6). It looked good at first, but it turned a strange reddish tone on me after a few hours. The third match was DG5. It started out good, but made me look ghostly grey as time passed. I consulted with a PUR agent. I explained the situation and she told me I should try DPP1. She said the red undertone would work with the DG6 liquid foundation. I told her I already had several compacts that I'd basically wasted money on since they were past the return date. Since I really like the formula and finish of the powder, I purchased DPP1 – another bust :-(. Another agent suggested DG7 – too dark. This time I returned it. Before my vacation, I was determined to find a PUR shade since the powder has SPF and the finish is perfect. The only one I hadn't tried was Cinnamon/DN5. Amazingly, when I tried the newer shade finder (Match My Brand), this is exactly what I was matched with. It works perfectly!!!! I felt protected from UV rays and looked great. My only regret is that I spent a lot of money on products that I cannot use and didn't return timely (the quarantine helped with that). I love this PUR pressed mineral powder so much omg. I received the shade Sand TN3 and I was so afraid it was going to be too light for me but it ended up looking perfect on my skin. I applied this on top of a dewy primer after letting that set some. I applied this powder with a flat kabuki brush and followed the box by applying the powder in circular motion all over my face. I did light pat some product under my eyes on top of the PUR PushUp concealer to not move the concealer and I love the end result of the powder. I usually add setting spray but I didn’t think I really needed to with this powder it settled on my skin and mixed nicely with my blush and a little contour I added to my face as well. Everything meshed perfect and my whole face looked flawless for hours. I did use setting spray only because I have oily skin and it still looked beautiful. I love that this powder has SPF but not sure if it has flash back. From the pics I took the color didn’t change much in my opinion. I love the packaging of this. I recently tried the Pur 4-in-1 mineral makeup. This product combines 4 products in one — foundation, concealer, powder and SPF. I do appreciate that the product has SPF and any extra protection is great to see in products, however I would use SPF lotion underneath this product as well. The product did not smell like sunscreen at at all, which was great! This product is described as a medium, buildable coverage with a natural finish. I found that the natural finish is accurate, as is the medium coverage. I used a brush to apply. Personally, when I tried to build the product up, it started to look cakey on my skin. I do not fault the product for this, I just think for someone like me with redness from rosacea or blemishes, I need a product with more coverage. When applied lightly, I think it has a more nautral look. Overall, I did like the formula and would use it again, but as a complement to a liquid foundation. For those who do not need as full coverage, this product would be great on its own. I also appreciate that this product was made without harmful ingredients and without fragrance. I would seek this product out again and would recommend it to others looking for a medium coverage powder foundation or those seeking additional coverage over a liquid foundation.Kristenb177

I came on your website to discover if the fact that the 3 Healthy Skin Pressed Powders I just found no applicator in were missing it for a reason or if it was just a mistake. Well, apparently it's on purpose, and I've got to say, really? Sustainability is not a good enough reason to remove something so essential to your product. If you haven't figured that out yet, just look at the reviews for the last eight months. Pretty much every single one is upset the applicator is gone, and for good reason. As a company, you should know your demographic. When it comes to makeup, there are people who buy individual, reusable applicators for every makeup product they use. I know several. Those people do not use any of your products. Your customers want the convenience of having an all-in-one compact with applicator, often so it can be used on the go. Will the applicator missing, you are going to start losing customers to companies that still provide what they are looking for. If you want to be more sustainable, the smart thing to do would have been to research other options and only remove the old applicator when you have something viable to replace it with. That way, you don't lose customers during the transition. Take a good hard look at the last eight months of reviews. It might be a good idea to bring the applicator back until an alternative option is available. Otherwise, once those customers are gone, there's a good chance you won't ever get most of them back. Oh, and by the way. I did notice that with all the comments about how the price never dropped even with the applicator missing, not one answer from your company addressed that part. Interesting…J2J2

I have been using Neutrogena mineral sheers powder foundation for over 5 years. It is the best powder that I have ever used to cover redness on my face. The powder goes on smoothly & evenly when I use the included sponge applicator. When I opened my latest powder product, I was surprised that there was no applicator. I reluctantly used the old applicator from the empty compact that I had just thrown in the trash. I then read reviews that lots of other people were disappointed because their applicator was also missing. I worked in makeup manufacturing for 32 years and I know that a missing part is possible even with quality/equipment checks. But if this was a decision to not provide an applicator then I strongly disagree! I would have rather you removed the mirror. I haven’t checked yet but I hope that you will sell applicators separately because I love your product and I feel strongly that the applicator is part of the reason.Scout3722

I had only just started using the original formula not long before they replaced it with this one. I was trying to buy my same old product for (only) my third time when I realized it was no longer available. I brought what was left of my previous compact (old formula) to the store to directly compare colors with the new formula, and even my makeup-clueless boyfriend immediately pointed out that the "new" "replacement" color for my original color shade was quite different than the "new" color shade, but there was no other shade that even came close to my old one. So, I bought it anyways just to try it out, and I'm conflicted about it. The way this new formula looks on my large pores and textured skin is actually much better and smoother than the old formula, and melts better into my skin unlike the old formula, which tended to look powdery; however, on top of being a different color than my old one, this new product has a LOT more fallout than the old one, especially if you use a brush. I did try using a dry RealTechniques sponge, and it actually seemed to work well and produce less fallout in the tin, so I recommend that you use a sponge rather than a brush. Also, as others have said, the packaging just feels more cheap and clanky than the old one, which is annoying considering that they apparently raised the price. I don't feel the need to return it, but I may be trying out new brands after I finish using this tin.HW

I was late to discover that the old BarePro powder compact was being replaced. However I had confidence in Bareminerals and bought the recommended corresponding shade in the new 16H version. I'm so disappointed. Within two days the compact has broken up, resulting in my losing lots of expensive foundation and creating annoying mess. On top of which the formulation is nothing like the fine, luxurious, buildable finish of the old BarePro. Even the most careful dab or light swipe of the brush picks up so much product, that it's very difficult to build in the same way and coupled with the crumbling effect which only seems to worsen as time goes on, means that it very wasteful as you almost always use or lose more powder than you need. The colour (Fair 15 Neutral for the old Aspen) is also not the same as the old one – the tone is more orange and of course this isn't helped by the inability to apply very fine layers. What on earth have you done, Bareminerals?! I use a huge range of BareMinerals skincare and makeup and have never been so thoroughly disappointed, it's a real turn-off that the company has produced such a poor product. I do not understand why companies do this! You have a highly-rated, holy grail product that flies off the shelves, and then you mess with the formula and lose all your customers. First Dermablend got rid of their pressed powder foundation, which is what drove me into the arms of Bare Minerals Performance Wear (which I loved.) This new version is hard to blend, it's cakey, it settles into fine lines and wrinkles, it highlights imperfections, and it applies unevenly if you have any combination skin at all. I see Bare Minerals commenting on other people's reviews about it being messy, basically accusing the user of not knowing how to apply makeup. I am a licensed aesthetician and makeup artist, and I can verify that this product is incredibly difficult to use. No matter what brush or sponge you choose, or how gently you go into the pan, you cannot help but to pick up too much product or damage the powder base. No one should have to work this hard to get product onto their tools effectively. And, because you have to be so dainty and gentle with it, and then do some voodoo magic to achieve consistent application, you have easily added 8-10 minutes to your makeup routine. This is just a giant step down from Performance Pro, and I will now be moving onto a new brand. This should have been introduced as a new product while you continued to produce Performance Pro, especially considering you've changed the formula to a wet-to-dry version. I was a little leery to purchase this compact but decided to give it a try and am so happy that I did. Being 'older' liquid has a tendency to settle in wrinkles and makes you actually look older. (My opinion only) This compact evens out skin tone and looks like there is no makeup because it doesn't settle in the wrinkles and makes your skin look awesome. So glad I purchased it.Lydia

Love this product all over the face or just under my eye's. Work's fast and all day long. Not heavy. The sponge that is included is amazing too. Good coverage for a power product. This is / has been my go to for years. In terms of mineral powder for sensitive skin this is the best I have discovered. I have fair to medium skin (depending on time of year) with neutral undertone. I have very very sensitive skin as well as freckles! I have loved the "natural look" since I was young and started wearing this brand soon after I discovered Bare Minerals when I was 15. I still go back to the Translucent Light specifically although I still try other brands to figure out what works best for my skin. If my skin is in check, this goes on seamlessly. It actually seems to help with skin sensitivities. However as with all things if your skin isn't exfoliated or ready for foundation then it won't blend as smoothly!Lauren

I used this product for about 4 to 5 years. I remember finding this product stocking it on the shelves at Target. I had even worse oily prone skin. (T zone was the worst) this powder would cover my blemishes, did we have dark circles at 18? Surely not. But this product did wonders. It helped hide the acne I hated without looking cakey. It didn't make my skin overly oily. It didn't cause me to break out more. It didn't leave dry patches. The pigment and cover was great. It was buildable. But holy f*ck is that kickback rough!! The design of the bottle is horrible, but inside was make up coverage gold! I cannot believe I ran across this!! I used this faithfully for years and just stopped one day. Hmm.. Any time I’ve used powder foundation before, I’ve ended up looking as though I am covered in dust. This doesn’t do that, even when I wear the lighter shade. I can apply it without any liquid foundation and still see coverage. Best of all, it doesn’t make me break out. I do see a into masks, but it’s worth it. Just don’t use the little cushion to apply. Cover Girl Trublend Pressed Powder has long been my go-to powder. It is reasonably priced, widely available, non-irritating, effective for keeping shine at bay, and incredibly natural looking. It never looks cakes and covers well enough that I sometimes just wear the powder without foundation. It is a great product. And Cover Girl gets bonus points for being cruelty-free.stacy.b

This shade is 600 Banana. Despite its name, its not yellow but rather brightening! On the images attached, I applied the product with my finger. The complete amount was a result of dabbing the finger into the powder 3 times. (Dont worry it doesn’t pick up so much at a time). However, you can see that it is buildable. The first, larger image is how the covergirl trublend mineral powder would look like after rubbing in the powder in 3 circular motions with my finger. Brushing my face in layers with the soft brush helps to open the pores and increase circulation. So it is worth trying to blend with the finger instead. In the smaller image the powder is fully blended into my skin. I would say it does a good amount of coverage for the pours. However, not as good on fine lines as id like it to. Additionally, please note that it is not shiny. The powder is super light and doesn’t fall or make a mess like other translucent powders. You can use it for some coverage, or brightening up your face, or baking your face because it is light, non yellow and easy to work with. However, try it on a small area first before you go all in! Its a no brainer that our skin is different and reacts differently. As others have noted, this is better than most powder foundations that cost two or three times as much. I'm with dry, sensitive skin, blotchy prone skin. This is enough coverage for a flattering everyday natural look which I can brush on in a few seconds. No caking. No oxidation. No irritation. Year round. Even the packaging is nice. It is a foundation, so if it tosses around in a purse a lot it will get a bit dusty around the compact. But that really isn't a big deal for me. Certainly not worth asking CG to change the formulation over. They have changed the name of it, but the product is as great as everananya.d

The circumstances for when I first got this foundation we're totally a coincidence. I had gotten a BareMinerals gift of another one of my favorite products in a shade that was too dark. Prom was also coming up and I needed a foundation that would keep me matte and look good in pictures. So I went to the BareMinerals store and asked if they had any matte foundations, to which I discovered this. Never have I loved a foundation more. I have combo oily skin and this keeps me so so matte, but with a perfectly natural finish. The way my skin looks in this is like a "your skin but better" product. My oily mother normally sticks to the products she's used for years, but the minute she tried this we both had to run out and buy it for our summer and winter shades. It's AMAZING!! I couldn't even understand why it didn't have all 5 stars, but I'm assuming that it is probably a better foundation for oily skin (like most matte foundations are). I use this on top of the Combo Control Milky Face Primer also by BareMinerals, and the compliments for perfect skin don't stop coming (and I have some major acne scarring, so I'm far from perfect😭)Gatito Enthusiast

There are a lot of wonderful things about this foundation: 1) It is definitely full coverage 2) Easy to apply 3) Doesn't cause break outs 4) Matches my skin tone perfectly However, there are a few things keeping me from loving it: 1) It looks cakey and dry on my skin. Even though I have super oily skin, it still somehow manages to look dry and patchy in some areas (even though those spots still end up being oily). 2) It doesn't have the stay power I was hoping it would have. It stays pretty well for the first 6 hours but then starts to wear off. It seems to stay put longer on cooler, less active days so it's probably because of my oiliness. 3) It doesn't mattify as well as I would have liked. Like I said above, it definitely looks dry and patchy on the skin in areas, but my oily skin still shines through. However, some areas stay nicely matte. I have tried wearing it with and without foundation, but I don't see any differences between the application, wearability, stay power, and patchiness. Overall, I like enough to keep it and am going to keep experimenting with it to see if I can overcome the small issues. It is definitely better than most foundations I've tried. Wow. That’s all I can say. Pros- – wide color range with pictures distinctly labeled warm , cool, neutral, making it very easy to find your perfect color – unlike most long wearing foundations, this doesn’t look chalky, thick, or mask like. It ends up looking like skin not like a thick layer of makeup applied to your face. -I have combination skin that’s very easily dried out and then gets flaky and oily, I bought a dewy setting spray from Walgreens to give this a nice satin finish. If your skin is normal you will probably get the satin finish from this alone. Ten years ago I tried the bare minerals powder and a tube lipstick that was shown. I did not care for the lipstick, it went on with an uneven texture, didn’t have a nice finish, and didn’t wear well. The powder foundation was much too yellow and didn’t look nice on my combination skin that’s often much to dry for anything other than a cream. You guys have really stepped it up with bare pro and the mineral liquid lipstick! Blown away by the color selection you offer that includes everyone. I have used this for since it came out and use the #10 color. It's so light feeling, you won't even know your wearing anything. It does not cake or 'gather in any fine lines'. It softly evens out skin tone without looking like your wearing make-up and somehow manages nice coverage. I'm 52 with very minor lines around my eyes, oily skin and live in SoFla. My skin tends to drink make up in. This powder will generally go about 7hrs until a refresh. I use a small kabuki brush to apply instead of what comes with it, though that brush works well with blushes. When the amount powder is getting low, I take the little plastic tray out to get the remaining powder. Also, when the container is empty, I wash it out. I use them for jewelry storage while travelling, like earrings, necklaces, etc., or other small things like aspirin and such. I love this powder! Please Neutrogena, don't ever discontinue!Traci

I wasn't sure about this as I've been using BareMinerals for so long but this seemed like a comparable product. After using it for a while I do like the product but the coverage is SHEER. If you need full coverage you might not like the product. I've also noticed that there is a bit of sheen to it which for me acts like a little highlight on the high points on my face – very subtle though. For the days I need full coverage I either use the BareMinerals (or mix the two) and for the rest of the time I just use the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers. I get some flexibility and lower makeup costs overall. I haven't noticed any breakouts and it leaves my face soft – I have combo skin and didn't notice any issues with oiliness over the course of the day. The lightest color (10) works for me but I think they could expand their colors – seems limited right now. Definitely worth checking out if you're on the fenceLeah

Contains SOY!!! If you have allergies or sensitivities do not buy this product. It made my skin break out. I checked the listed ingredients on this product and it did not reveal that it contained soy. The only way I found out was when I used it and my skin broke out and a noticed the label can be peeled back and behold a whole list of other ingredients. BUYER BEWARE – if all ingredients are not listed up front do not buy! Cosmetic companies are not required to list potential allergens like food companies are.Lyn

I find that on my 63yr old skin that mineral finishing powder gives me just enough coverage without showing any wrinkles, which cream foundations tend to do. I like that you can build up the depth for an evening makeup along with some concealer. Lovely product and beautifully soft on your skin.Debbie63

My daughter first bought this product for me and I was very sceptical, having tried several other brand 'mineral powders'. This is totally different. This foundation has blown my expectations out of the water! I've used so many famous foundations over the years (from Estee Lauder Double Wear to Bare Minerals to MAC and countless more) in search of the perfect full coverage foundation that a) covers acne and hyperpigmentation, b) stays put all day long, and c) still looks pretty natural. This is the first foundation I've ever found that checks all of those boxes so wonderfully! I have to admit that I was highly skeptical of this due to subpar branding and information from the brand, but my clear skin coach recommended it to me, so I gave it a go. I'm now so grateful to her! Not only is it acne-safe (won't clog your pores), but the coverage and wear are so lovely. I find myself using about 1/2 the foundation I did before, and it's lasting all day, even in Missouri humidity. I bought a sample kit directly from the brand to determine which foundation formula and colors I liked the best (since there's very little information provided about it), and landed on the Concealing Foundation. I also decided to get both the Porcelain and Fair and do a custom mix each day depending on how tan or pale I am at the time. I also use the Porcelain as my undereye concealer now, and it's fantastic for that as well! I would never have given this a try without that recommendation, but I'm so glad I did. This is the only foundation that my skin has consistently *loved* over the years. I occasionally try something new for fun or to branch out, but I always run back to Illuminare quickly! It contains no irritating ingredients, no natural oils or extracts that sensitize the skin, and no unnecessary marketing ingredients. It's the only foundation or sunscreen I've ever been able to slather on my skin every single day (since somewhere around 2002) without clogging my pores, dehydrating my skin, or causing flaking or irritation. I use a mix of Porcelain and Fair, about a pea of each (a relatively generous amount to get as much sun protection as possible), and then sometimes use some Concealing formula in Fair around my eyes (and eyelids!) if I need extra coverage. I use my fingers to apply because it's easiest and to avoid wasting product. I have naturally larger pores around my nose area, and this smooths them over and never dries down to settle in them later in the day (unlike almost every other foundation I've tried.) And despite containing silicones, it accomplishes the smoothing without that unpleasantly greasy "gasoline" texture that I associate with silicone formulas popular in the market today (especially those with cyclopentasiloxane). The texture is slightly thick, and I believe it applies best over well-moisturized skin and does especially well over emollient creams or facial oils. I'm guessing that reviewers who say they've had trouble spreading it on their skin either use minimal moisturizer, or those with a matte, velvet, or grippy texture. The finish is naturally satin with a hint of dew that just looks like fresh healthy skin. I powder with plain silica finishing powder just down the center of my face. On the occasion it settles into eyelid creases, I just pat it out and it's fine. It doesn't oxidize on the skin. The shades are relatively neutral, which is great because I find so many foundation and tinted moisturizer shades to be very orangey, peachy, or too purely yellow even though I have a warmer skin tone. I think it's a shame that it's not more talked about on YouTube and Instagram, because it really should be more popular and I think many people with sensitive and acne-prone skin would love it! For reference, I'm 45 and my skin is clog-prone and tends toward oily in the t-zone and normal elsewhere, but it's very prone to dehydration and is reactive to lots of ingredients and most skincare and products I try.Anonymous

There are a lot of reasons I expected to dislike this foundation. First, the shade range is very limited. Second, the shades run darker than their names imply. Third, I hate the fast application pad that is recommended to apply the foundation. I have fair-light skin with neutral undertones. The porcelain shade was much too light for me. And I was certain that the fair shade would be too dark (it is NOT a true fair!). The fair is probably borderline too dark for me, but if I apply with a light hand and blend well, somehow it works! It looks like my skin but better, and covers and wears so well. This is the only foundation I have been able to use with nightly use of tretinoin, without the foundation clinging to my dry patches.Anonymous

VERY ABSORBANT. Please know these have built in SPF and moisturizing Ingredients. When you use these do not skip your moisturizer. Once youb this in you will love the dewy natural feel and coverage. A little goes a long way. Let it sink in and reapply for more coverage. You choose from light coverage to full coverage! I really love this makeup line. Especially for the fact they produce clean beauty products. The finish for the Mineral Fusion’s foundation is beautiful. It’s perfect for those who like natural looking, lightweight foundations. The only reason why I’m giving this foundation a four star rating as well as their other products is because there’s an ingredient in their formulas that made me break out. If it weren’t for that factor, I’d be a customer for life. It’s taken me decades to realize I’m neutral with cool undertones. I grew up using drugstore makeup and I always looked orange, but I never understood why. I tried MF’s Neutral 2 after uploading my photo and virtually trying on the shades. It was close, but just a bit too light. The next darker shade in any of the tone families was Cool 2, so I gambled…and won. I’ll say that Cool 2 isn’t super cool, so it works. Coverage is light to medium—I wish it was just a hair thicker. I’ve used brands that just sit on top of my skin and don’t sink in; and brands that truly sink in and give me the perfect airbrushed finish. MF falls in the middle. I buy MF because with the setting powder, it stays on all day; and I love the clean ingredients and convenience of shopping for it at my local Sprouts store. I stick with MF for all my cosmetics to simplify my shopping; the setting powder, nail polish, polish remover, eye shadows, and eye pencils are all excellent. In particular, the eye shadow stays put all day, an amazing feat in my experience.Tricia M.
