I received this product complimentary from First Aid Beauty to review and give my honest opinions. This ultra repair cream has a rich thick balm texture. It is emollient without being greasy or heavy. It is suitable for all skin types but is designed to hydrate dry parched skin and is safe for sensitive skin. It is formulated with collodial oatmeal, shea butter, allantoin, ceramides and FAB's antioxidant booster. These ingredients work together to moisturise and soothe the skin. The tub says to apply from head to toe once or twice daily. I found that this was perfect for moisturising my body as it didn't leave my body feeling sticky like some creams do. It took some rubbing in to get rid of the white cast, but once it's worked into the skin it absorbs quickly. I did feel a bit of tingling on my skin, which I assume is from the eucalyptus oil and I can smell a slight hint of it in the cream. I was surprised to find that it also worked well for my face. It layered well on top of my serums and absorbed into my skin. My face felt nice and moisturised and this got rid of my dry patches. However, because of the slight tingling sensation, I stopped using this on my face because I have quite sensitive skin. Therefore, this has become my designated body cream.phoebe

It contains colloidal oatmeal and allantoin to calm and sooth skin. In addition to squalane and ceramides, it contains shea butter to moisturize and protect the skin barrier. This product is dermatologist tested, contains no artificial fragrance, and is safe for sensitive skin. I received a sample of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream from Sephora earlier this year. I had the opportunity to use it when I recently experienced patchy facial dryness after changing my skincare routine. I applied a thin layer to my face over serum and mucin toner before bed. I woke with plump, smooth skin that was no longer irritated and dry. I have combination-oily skin and found this to be moisturizing without causing my t-zone to become excessively oily. It worked well as a nighttime moisturizer but is quite heavy and would not be a good choice for daytime wear under makeup for my skin type in my opinion. This ample sample lasted through two full face applications. It is a great intense moisturizer for all skin types and perfect choice for those needing a barrier repair or skin cycling option. I’m so glad I bought a tester/sample size. It has silicone in it, so it will pill- especially if you use any other products that have silicone. Even with the most simple routines, no actives and just a serum or an oil it pills. A lot. Creates this gunk on your cheeks and jawline mixing with other ingredients in your routine. I keep it pretty ‘clean’ when it comes to my products and nothing else I use makes my face sticky, pill or any of that annoying stuff. This product though? I rarely experience it not pilling or, worse, turning into sludge just after using a couple of my pricey products that I feel are almost wasted when I use this over them. Especially when you’re paying a dollar or more per ml, would rather go a superior brand with cleaner ingredients. I just bought kiehls ultra because I’ve enjoyed that in the past. I bought this because I have dry, sensitive skin. I need lots of moisture. I’ve found it’s best to rely on more than just a moisturiser for the amount of moisture I need so I incorporate face oils – especially in cooler months – like rose hip, vitamin e oils and I’ve just bought face hero so will be back with a review on that. With my latest Sephora purchase, one of their "Favorites Collections", included was a jar of Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Cream. True to their brand, the cream came in a small all white jar with black lettering and a red stripe. The cream itself is lightweight, white, and fragrance-free. I applied a small amount to my face and it hydrated my skin beautifully without making my skin look or feel greasy. It absorbed quickly and evenly into my skin, and didn't leave it feeling sticky or tacky afterwards. My skin felt SO much softer after I used this cream, it was amazing. My skin looked and felt beautiful after applying it. You can see up to 132% increase in skin hydration with the use of this cream. 96% of participants in consumer trials showed immediate improvement in skin dryness. 98% felt softer skin, and 96% showed a stronger skin barrier. I have never used any product from this brand and this one sadly is a NO for me. PROS: – It doesn’t leave a white cast. – Hydrating cream, with a nice texture (not too thin, not too thick) – It has glycerin,squalane and hyaluronic acid which are great hydrators. – It smells very good. I like scented formulas although it is not necessary. – Clean at Sephora CONS: – This cream doesn’t work with my skincare. It peels. This is a problem for me because I am not going to stop using my skincare, focused on anti-aging, to use this sunscreen. I would use another one on my face and leave this one for my arms. – It is a chemical sunscreen. I don’t have sensitive skin so I can use it but I can’t apply it around my eyes because it makes me tear up and I want sunscreen on that area because it is the most delicate. – If you apply the recommended amount for any sunscreen to be effective at the advertised SPF (1 teaspoon for the face), your will end up with a greasy looking face. It may have been part of the reason for the sunscreen to peel on me. – It has a lot of silicons, which I suspect are another reason for this cream not to work with my skincare. – It has a couple of essential oils. They give the cream a nice minty citrusy smell that I love but it is not necessary. I’m sorry that this is a little long but I want to do this product justice because it’s worth it (and I’m a babbler). I have been struggling with dry, sensitive skin for many years now. My skin is dry year round because I just do not produce very much oil. I have spent so much money on expensive skincare trying to find a moisturizer that will work with no luck. I can’t even use Cerave on my face because something in it irritates me. I had recently purchased one of those Sephora $10 deluxe sample bags and realized this was one of the products included in it so I decided to browse the reviews here and they convinced me to try it. No joke, the very first time I put this on my face the heavens opened up and angels started singing! Well, ok that didn’t happen but you get the picture! Immediately my face felt more hydrated than it has for a good 20 years now. I immediately ordered a bigger jar. Not once has this made my sensitive skin sting, even when applying it after I dermaplane with a surgical 10 blade. The instant and long term effects have been nothing short of amazing. I have not had dry patches on my face at all. That in itself is crazy. It plays well with my tretinoin when others make it pill, It absorbs fast enough to be used morning and night, it works wonders with my moringa oil and I have recently added polyglutamic acid with no problems as well. It could be the squalene in it that my skin has needed all these years, not sure, but I cannot believe I waited this long to try this miracle moisturizer. I am acne-prone with a dry, damaged skin barrier. My skin is extremely sensitive and will not tolerate hyaluronic acid. I often get patches so dry around my mouth and chin that they flake off, even in summer. I’m sure y’all know how annoying that is, especially with makeup on. PROS : this moisturizer did not irritate my skin one bit – and i think they have a fragrance free version that’s even better for sensitive skin. It’s a fabulous mix-in with my foundation, really helps it look more skin-like. When I touch up my makeup I can usually just DAB (not rub) some of this on the flakes and they magically disappear, although you can use this as a makeup remover if you use a lot and rub it all off. I’ve used this moisture before and I continue to come back to it every now and then because it’s always reliable to me. I have pretty dry and sensitive skin, although my skin is too dry to use this on it’s in own in the winter. I find it works best for me during in between seasons, summer and layering it with other moisturisers. I always come back to this because it never irritates my skin. I love the scent, it reminds me of the french pharmacy in paris…the quality and texture is amazing as well. I don’t notice extreme benefits, but that’s not really what I look for from this product, it serves me well for always being reliable, hydrating, smooth and luxurious. I have recently discovered the hype about this wonderful product, I have seen so many good reviews on Youtube and it is apparently a favourite of celebrities! � My first impressions were it felt very nourishing and left your skin very smooth, although it is an oil based cream texture it does not leave a tacky oily feeling, it absorbs beautifully. It is a multi tasker, so it can be used as a cleanser, moisture mask and also make-up primer! I love the fact I can use this under make-up and my make up stays in place and glides on very flawlessly with no clingy dry patches! I really wanted to like this moisturizer, especially given the price point, but was disappointed. I am swapping all beauty and wellness products to cruelty free alternatives and have been looking for a good substitute for my Cera Ve moisturizer, which is excellent for year-round use. I am in my 30s so I am focused on anti-aging and repair and am seeking a cost-effective cruelty free moisturizer than sinks in well, maintains moisture for long periods of time, and doesn’t cause breakouts. I LOVED the glowy finish on this moisturizer but noticed after a couple of days that my skin was getting really dry while using this product. I tried coupling this moisturizer with a heavier serum/face oil, but no luck. After a week of use, I had a couple of flaky, dry spots on my face and had to relinquish this to neck and hand moisturizer. If you have less dry skin, I could see this as being a great option. Cruelty free status is a bonus but the combination of cost, plastic packaging, and no “sticking power” to this moisturizer means that it won’t join my permanent line up.LittlstArch
I was surprised that this didn't get a universal 5 stars in the ratings because this is hands down my favorite moisturizer. But when I looked into it, the complaints were from women who had acne issues. This is NOT a good moisturizer for acne prone skin. However, it is AMAZING FOR DRY SKIN. I have always been complimented for my beautiful skin, but that's because I have always taken care of it. For years I used Chanel and LaMer products. At about age 45, I started using Clarins Double Serum (which I *still* swear by). After trying a sample of Tatcha's The Dewy Skin Cream, I realized that it worked just as well, but cost a fraction of what Chanel's Le Lift or La Mer's Creme de la Mer. I switched and haven't looked back. I'm nearly 60 and I still have people compliment me on my beautiful skin and who are shocked when they hear my age. I have a simple routine: removing my eye makeup with Lancome's Bi-facil, rinsing my face with water and a washcloth (and occasionally using micellar water), drying it and adding a small dollop of Clarin's Double Serum, and in winter, following with this Tatcha moisturizer. My skin is reactive, tending to Rosaceae. I am very pale (Irish descent) and burn easily (followed by freckles). I also tend to have dry skin.repto

I first got the $25 travel set as a trial pack, and WOW did it have more product in it than I thought it would. The two tiny containers lasted me 3 weeks. More than enough time to see how my skin would handle the new skincare routine. I wash and moisturize my face twice a day and I’ve seen a tremendous improvement to my skin. I would have bright red breakouts on my chin, all over my jaw, cheeks, in between my eyebrows, my forehead and hairline. I have had a pimple maybe once in the past few weeks now? I do have scarring and some discoloration from years of picking at my poor skin—so I will be looking for a spot treatment for any pop-up zits and dark spots, BUT! I love this stuff. A little goes a long way and it’ll last you forever. The moisturizer smells good, has a nice feeling, dries quickly and has your skin feelings so incredibly soft. I was worried since this is a “dewy” moisturizer but I’m less oily after using this moisturizer than if I used an oil-free or gel based one as I have in the past. An eye-catching pack with three products that were neatly presented inside. I loved the three step routine that was quick and easy to incorporate into my morning and evening. The pack contains three products and the back of the pack easily explains which order to do each one. The soothing spray left my skin feeling refreshed, invigorated and calm and a perfect amount sprays out each time. The serum is lovely: the pump is easy to use and it dispenses an ideal amount with each pump. ive been using this for the last few day and i like it, its a 3 step skincare routine with prodcts to soothe, prep and moisturise the skin. The Thermal Spring Water is a spray can which you just spray then leave a few mins before patting dry. this leave face feeling cool and refreshed. Then use the Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum which comes in a pump top bottle so is easy to dispense. really lightweight cream with a pleasant odor. Lastly Moisturise with Hydrance Rich Cream, again another really light cream with a pleasant scent easy to use. overall i feel like my skin is improving and cant wait to see the results after longer useagemeany84
I say surprisingly because I’ve purchased so many beauty products that promise one thing or another and do absolutely nothing. My dermatologist recommended this brand to me for my incredibly (ridiculously) sensitive skin. My 55 yr old skin is dry on the chin and cheeks and oily on the nose and forehead. I also like to breakout with angry red pimples. When I combat the pimples the other parts of face react contrary to what is ideal. Too dry, too irritated or too red. Enter Avene products and some actual relief! This moisturizer brought my dry parts back in line within two days! No irritation and adverse effects on the oily parts! Gentle and effective hydration is what this product delivered. My mom is in her early 90s and she’s a hardcore user of a different brand. I find it didn’t full moisturize her face leaving it looking papery with a dry fragile feel. I put this moisturizer on her and after one application her face looked better! I received this product complimentary from First Aid Beauty to review and give my honest opinions. This ultra repair cream has a rich thick balm texture. It is emollient without being greasy or heavy. It is suitable for all skin types but is designed to hydrate dry parched skin and is safe for sensitive skin. It is formulated with collodial oatmeal, shea butter, allantoin, ceramides and FAB's antioxidant booster. These ingredients work together to moisturise and soothe the skin. The tub says to apply from head to toe once or twice daily. I found that this was perfect for moisturising my body as it didn't leave my body feeling sticky like some creams do. It took some rubbing in to get rid of the white cast, but once it's worked into the skin it absorbs quickly. I did feel a bit of tingling on my skin, which I assume is from the eucalyptus oil and I can smell a slight hint of it in the cream. I was surprised to find that it also worked well for my face. It layered well on top of my serums and absorbed into my skin. My face felt nice and moisturised and this got rid of my dry patches. However, because of the slight tingling sensation, I stopped using this on my face because I have quite sensitive skin. Therefore, this has become my designated body cream.phoebe

I woke with plump, smooth skin that was no longer irritated and dry. I have combination-oily skin and found this to be moisturizing without causing my t-zone to become excessively oily. It worked well as a nighttime moisturizer but is quite heavy and would not be a good choice for daytime wear under makeup for my skin type in my opinion. This ample sample lasted through two full face applications. It is a great intense moisturizer for all skin types and perfect choice for those needing a barrier repair or skin cycling option. I’m so glad I bought a tester/sample size. It has silicone in it, so it will pill- especially if you use any other products that have silicone. Even with the most simple routines, no actives and just a serum or an oil it pills. A lot. Creates this gunk on your cheeks and jawline mixing with other ingredients in your routine. I keep it pretty ‘clean’ when it comes to my products and nothing else I use makes my face sticky, pill or any of that annoying stuff. This product though? I rarely experience it not pilling or, worse, turning into sludge just after using a couple of my pricey products that I feel are almost wasted when I use this over them. Especially when you’re paying a dollar or more per ml, would rather go a superior brand with cleaner ingredients. I just bought kiehls ultra because I’ve enjoyed that in the past. I bought this because I have dry, sensitive skin. I need lots of moisture. I’ve found it’s best to rely on more than just a moisturiser for the amount of moisture I need so I incorporate face oils – especially in cooler months – like rose hip, vitamin e oils and I’ve just bought face hero so will be back with a review on that. I usually really struggle in winter but the face oils with a good moisturiser, regular hyaluronic acid use and not going overboard with actives is key for me.claire.b

I was the lucky recipient of a complimentary sample of this product via Influenster. I have very dry skin and had hoped this product would work miracles for my skin. Although it didn’t quite hydrate my skin the way I had hoped it’s still a really nice moisturizer and I think it would be perfect for those of you that don’t have very dry skin. I should also note that the sample I received only lasted me 5 days and that was with me using it once in the morning and once before bed so twice daily. Perhaps had I continued using it I might have seen more of a difference in my skin. The moisturizer feels like a creamy gel, it covered my skin nicely and didn’t leave any residue, it made my skin feel soft. A little goes a long way for example my tiny sample lasted me 5 days and I was using it on my face and the backs of my hands. It went on very smoothly and didn’t feel wet for very long after application. This meant it was great to apply before doing my makeup. I did notice it helped with the dry skin I get on my nose and felt very light. There was no strong fragrance to this product which is another great bonus. I can’t stand creams that have such a strong fragrance that you can smell it for hours afterwards. All that being said, it’s not a product I would purchase myself in the future. I have been using Clinique skincare and makeup since I was a teenager. In the past 15 years they have never let me down! I have oily/combination/occasionally sensitive skin so I am super picky about my skincare products. I have been using their Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for about 15 years so when the opportunity to try this came up, I couldn't have been more excited to try it! This did not disappoint either! I start off my nighttime skincare routine with Clinique liquid facial soap then I use their toner and wait for my face to completely dry. When I first applied this I was so surprised at how little you need! A tiny bead was all I needed for my whole face! Almost immediately my skin felt plump and hydrated without that super wet sticky feel that some lotions cause. Sometimes when I use other lotions I wake up and my face is super oily but when I woke up after using this my face wasn't oily at all and still felt just as hydrated as it did the night before. i love this moisturizer for various reasons. on top of having amazing ingredients, this is one of two moisturizers that work perfectly with my combo skin– providing sufficient hydration to moisturize the dry parts but also being light enough to not turn my t-zone into an oil slick. this is also an all-year-rounder for me, being perfect for all seasons. can't really ask for much more than that. to address all the reviews that stated it burned, this product does contain lactic & citric acid which are AHAs and are meant to help exfoliate the skin for a soft & supple look, on top of helping to fade any pigmentation or scarring. if you are new to chemical exfoliants, i can imagine that you will feel this. for the aficionados, you likely won't feel a thing. side note: even though i am constantly burning the skin on my face off, i do get some strange tingling/numbing sensation within the first minute of application if i haven't used it for a while. i disregard this as it goes away and nothing bad has ever happened.kn24
I got this moisturizer because it's one of the only brands with good EWG scores. I wasn't expecting much because on the whole I don't think clean beauty delivers as good results as regular skincare, but this surpassed my expectations in every way! I have rosacea and quite sensitive, very dry skin. Despite this, I hate creamy creams so I'm always looking for a gel moisturizer that still packs a punch. I've been using this throughout the Chicago winters (harsh winds and dry heating) and my skin has stayed dewy and plump. I would never normally apply a moisturizer without cleansing my skin first, but on my laziest days I felt I could apply this just throughout the day because it's non irritating and would never break me out. My skin used to be so dry it would get tiny bumps all over as a coping mechanism / to hold onto moisture and they've completely gone since using this product. This also doesn't pill no matter what I put underneath. I've used different vitamin c serums, acids (lactic, Glycolic etc), different hydrating serums and different eye serums all together (like 5 layers) and it has never pilled! Some clean products don't hold up well over time, but travelled to Brazil with hot temperatures and dipped my fingers in here at the gym, in the airpirt and different hotels over the course of 4 months and the color, consistency, smell and efficacy is the same as when I first opened it. I use strong actives weekly with no issue. But my skin started to get hot red after I put on. Two days later I started to break out. I still have red spots/scars from it that I’m trying to fade. That said, everyone’s skin is different so this could work for you one of the great things about Biossance is that they use recyclable packaging, which is always a plus when purchasing beauty products. I applied a small amount to my face and it hydrated my skin beautifully without making my skin look or feel greasy. It absorbed quickly and evenly into my skin, and didn't leave it feeling sticky or tacky afterwards. My skin felt SO much softer after I used this cream, it was amazing. My skin looked and felt beautiful after applying it. I have never used any product from this brand and this one sadly is a NO for me. PROS: – It doesn’t leave a white cast. – Hydrating cream, with a nice texture (not too thin, not too thick) – It has glycerin,squalane and hyaluronic acid which are great hydrators. – It smells very good. I like scented formulas although it is not necessary. – Clean at Sephora CONS: – This cream doesn’t work with my skincare. It peels. This is a problem for me because I am not going to stop using my skincare, focused on anti-aging, to use this sunscreen. I would use another one on my face and leave this one for my arms. – It is a chemical sunscreen. I don’t have sensitive skin so I can use it but I can’t apply it around my eyes because it makes me tear up and I want sunscreen on that area because it is the most delicate. – If you apply the recommended amount for any sunscreen to be effective at the advertised SPF (1 teaspoon for the face), your will end up with a greasy looking face. It may have been part of the reason for the sunscreen to peel on me. – It has a lot of silicons, which I suspect are another reason for this cream not to work with my skincare. – It has a couple of essential oils. They give the cream a nice minty citrusy smell that I love but it is not necessary. They may be irritating for some so they should just not add them as they don’t provide any sun protection benefits. – I find it a little pricey. My skin is dry year round because I just do not produce very much oil. I have spent so much money on expensive skincare trying to find a moisturizer that will work with no luck. I can’t even use Cerave on my face because something in it irritates me. I had recently purchased one of those Sephora $10 deluxe sample bags and realized this was one of the products included in it so I decided to browse the reviews here and they convinced me to try it. No joke, the very first time I put this on my face the heavens opened up and angels started singing! Well, ok that didn’t happen but you get the picture! Immediately my face felt more hydrated than it has for a good 20 years now. I immediately ordered a bigger jar. Not once has this made my sensitive skin sting, even when applying it after I dermaplane with a surgical 10 blade. The instant and long term effects have been nothing short of amazing. I have not had dry patches on my face at all. That in itself is crazy. It plays well with my tretinoin when others make it pill, It absorbs fast enough to be used morning and night, it works wonders with my moringa oil and I have recently added polyglutamic acid with no problems as well. It could be the squalene in it that my skin has needed all these years, not sure, but I cannot believe I waited this long to try this miracle moisturizer. If you have also struggled with dry skin for a long time, I highly recommend giving this moisturizer a try. The texture itself is wonderfully light and non sticky which makes you wonder how on earth it is so moisturizing but it really is. Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. I think this is something I’ll end up repurchasing as I like the amount you get is quite decent plus the price point is good. I like that it’s in a squeeze tube more than a pump too!stephanie.v
First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. It works. I wish it didn't, because now it has to go in the annual budget along with the mortgage and tax, but for someone who has had problem skin all their life, this is just too good not to splurge on. After about six months of use, my skin is firmer, glowy, less red, breaks out less (and my inevitable hormonal break outs are shorter), has tighter pores, and while I don't have a lot of aging signs to speak of, I do think it's lessening the appearance of fine lines about my eyes. Most amazingly for me, it's shrunk a small keloid scar, and quite rapidly too. I didn't change anything else in my skincare or life during that time, so I'm certain it's the cream. Other acne scars and even a chickenpox scar have all faded too, and I tried a The Rich Cream sample on some stretch marks, which also got better. People regularly compliment me on my skin and I rarely wear foundation anymore. Unlike some other reviews, I find the texture pleasant; it's not a thick cream, so spreads well. The bottle lasts reasonably well, which lessens the ouch of the cost. I reckon I'll be able to get away with buying maybe 2 or 3 full-size bottles a year. Make sure to pull the pump out; the product is in a bag you can cut open to get every last drop out. However, I have knocked one star off because The Cream is not as moisturising as I would like, especially now it's colder. I have tried The Rich Cream, but this made me break out in oily areas. The Cream doesn't do this, but for my combination skin it just isn't quite enough in drier areas. I therefore have to double moisturise at night now winter is here. It's a bit annoying having to buy a second product given the price point, though I can get away with a cheap night cream with HA to boost hydration as the second moisturiser, so that's something. If you're skin leans more oily or dry, or you don't use a lot of harsh actives, you'll probably be fine with The Cream/Rich Cream alone. I was super excited to receive The Light Cream from Augustinus Bader in exchange for my honest review. I've heard such great things about the brand that I couldn't wait to see if it lived up to the hype. I'm happy to report that for me, this product absolutely did! The first thing I noticed was the beautiful blue and bronze aluminum packaging. It's stunning, and feels significant (not cheap or flimsy) in your hand. It definitely has a very luxe feel and appearance. The cream itself has a lightweight consistency, more like a creamy serum than an actual cream. It has no noticeable scent. It applies like a dream and absorbs quickly, leaving a natural finish. My dry skin feels moisturized and even at the end of a hot, humid Florida summer day, not the least bit greasy. It wears well under sunscreen and makeup, but can get a little pilly if I apply too much. Since this is so lightweight, it may not be enough moisture for winter, but during the summer it's been my holy grail daytime moisturizer. It's spendy, but if the budget allows, I will definitely be repurchasing. My only complaint (aside from price) is that the packaging is rounded on the bottom so it doesn't stand up. Not sure what the purpose of that is, however, it's certainly not a deal breaker for me. Influenster sent me a complimentary bottle of The Light Cream – a light daily moisturizer (for people like me with oily skin) from Augustinus Bader a few weeks ago for my honest review. I was familiar with the brand but had never purchased or used any of their products. Spoiler alert – I AM LOVING IT. As a late 30’s mom with oily, acne-prone skin, there are a few things I know I need from a daily moisturizer. It cannot make me break out, or cause additional oil production. It needs to contain ingredients that are proven to be effective, in a large enough amount to actually produce results. I need a light (but not weak) moisturizer that won’t be harsh on my sensitive skin, but will still leave it hydrated and help combat some of these knocking-on-40’s-door fine lines and wrinkles I’ve got going on. I need it to sink into my skin quickly and completely – without any lingering residue so I can move on to doing my makeup and living my life. We’re currently expecting another baby, so I also need high quality skincare with pregnancy-friendly ingredients. Sorry! Did I say I need “a few things”? I lied. I absolutely loved this gel cream, it’s feels very lightweight and comfortable on the skin throughout the day. I have super oily skin on my face, it always bothered me but i never did anything about it, I kept using the same old face cream since high school. I turned 30 recently and the photos of my birthday showed me how oily my skin looked even with make up on, so i decided to look for other options. I read a blog about the best creams for people with oily skin and i wanted to give it a try, i bought this one because it was one of the face creams mentioned in the blog and I love it. I thought it was kinda overpriced because it's only 50g but you need very little to cover your face. It smells very nice, it feels fresh, leaves your skin mate but moisturised. The effect lasts for hours! EDIT: after a month, I started to get a rash around my lips, I thought it was the usual allergies I get due to cold wind but I discovered that this water gel was the cause of it. As I've gotten older I have realized how difficult it is to find facial products for oily, aging skin. I have struggled with large pores and oily skin since I was 11 years old, and my skin grabs and holds onto everything that touches it. Most moisturizers and sunscreens with result in major breakouts of painful cystic acne spots all over my face. If I use any products that contain any type of oil or other potentially comedogenic (pore clogging) ingredient, my skin suck it up into my pores and refuses to let go for a LONG time. Being an aesthetician, I am fully aware that even oily skin (especially oily skin, actually) needs to be moisturized. Oily skin is the result of an over production of sebum, the skins natural moisturizer. For people with naturally oily skin, whenever the skin senses it lacks an appropriate amount of moisture, it automatically produces an excess amount of sebum in order to provide moisture to the skin. While it seems counter-productive to add moisturizer to already oily skin, the opposite is actual true. By thuroughly washing your face then applying the right type of intensely hydrating moisturizer like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream with Hyaluronic Acid, it actually help to regulate the oiliness of skin by providing the moisture it needs, eliminating the skin's need to over-produce sebum to provide adequate hydration to the skin. This is one of the only products I have found that provides intense moisture to my skin without clogging my pores or causing adverse side effects like most other facial moistures do to my skin.

Skincare has changed a lot and there are so many more high quality options on the market now. And La Mer is more money than I want to pay even though it has always been soothing for my sensitive skin. So in the last few years I have tried several times to switch to highly recommended, dermatologist supported less expensive alternatives for protecting and maintaining skin's moisture barrier. I have continued using high quality serums and some moisturizing essences at times. I am not able to tolerate a retinol and have had trouble with vitamin C as well. Even though my prior attempts to change my moisturizer were not successful I listened to everyone who says its foolish to spend so much for something that is just a moisturizer. So I tried again this year to change my moisturizer. Well, this winter I started struggling with redness, irritation, bumps and itchiness. I tried removing each of my skincare items to figure out if one was causing it. I tried just using gentle cleansing and moisturizer only. I switched to yet another highly recommended dermatologist approved less expensive alternative. I stopped wearing my make-up. I went for a facial which made things slightly worse. I was about to call for a dermatologist appointment because I began to wonder if it was some kind of dermatitis or maybe even a fungal infection. I remembered I had a little bit of la Mer left in an old jar. I put a little bit on the bumps on my forehead and my jaw on the right where it was really bad. Went to sleep. Woke up with smooth calmed skin, no itching for the first time in 2-3 months. Only place I still had itching and bumps was on the left side of my jaw where I had not put any cream. I think there are a lot of people including dermatologists and influencers who comment on skincare but who don't have truly dry and sensitive (like really truly VERY dry and sensitive) skin. At this point I have tried at least 8 other highly praised alternatives including everything from CeraVe to medical grade skincare bought directly from the dermatologist in the last few years. They are all I have no doubt excellent products with very good ingredient lists. But I am here to tell you that if you have really truly dry and sensitive skin look no further than la Mer. I don't like to waste products so I will use up these last two creams I tried by alternating them with La Mer in the summer months. But I'm not going to keep trying to replace La Mer. Got my hands on a small pot of Creme de la mer that was good for maybe 5 applications and decided to give it a try, after all there had to be some reason this was recommended so highly to me, right? Unfortunately, just as I expected from a product that lists 'mineral oil' so high up in the ingredients list, and a potentially irritating 'Eucalyptus Oil' on the list too, I broke out literally on day 2. The only positive was that it did slightly clear up a dry patch on my right cheek but to be fair I could have achieved that with anything on my dressing table. It sat like an oily film for hours on my face and its a testament to my patience how I didn't grab the nearest washcloth to remove it with! Gave this to my mum to try (dry/normal skin type) seeing as I still had a bit left in the pot and her feedback was merely an "it's ok, nothing special". If you have dry skin or suffer from dehydration and are NOT sensitive then by all means give it a try. From an ingredients perspective however there is nothing 'advanced' about this formulation. So the full size face cream is $360 which is nuts. But after redeeming 500 points for a la mer set from Sephora I was hooked on this juice. I wasn’t going to buy the cream, just miss it for the rest of my life and regret that I wasn’t born as Bono’s daughter until Sephora released this set that came with the full sized product for 360 plus a decent sized travel cream. I tend to save up my Sephora gift cards for one of their 20% off sales and so i was able to snag this set for 20% off and pay with gift cards so I was able to justify the purchase. The gift box luxe, heavy, and suede on the inside. I don’t know why I was expecting a plastic jar but the product comes in a beautiful heavy ceramic pot that just adds the luxurious feel. Once you actually put this on your face your exes want to get back together and you find 200$ on the ground. It smells like seaweed but in the best way possible and the texture is like clouds melts into your skin, plumping it up and getting rid of redness or irritation. This is the most overrated overpriced lotion I have ever used. I suffer from dry skin already and my hands are worse than the rest because I'm always doing something with them that involves getting dirty and needing to be washed. After reading so many reviews on different kinds of lotions and everyone insisting this was the best I decided to try it. I noticed it wasn't working great first day but I decided maybe its one of those you have to keep doing. But now I've had this for awhile, used it daily and am am almost out and it absolutely has made no difference in my skin. It almost seems like it's made it worse because I find myself having to reapply this throughout the day. I was using Jergens before this and it worked much better than this. I also have used the super cheap suave lotion in the past and even with it leaving you greasy I would 100% use that again over this. Amazing cream! I use this in place of a night cream or on days that my skin feels dry and needs an extra boost. It's highly moisturising and non irritating, which is perfect for sensitive skin. Love that there is no unnecessary added fragrance either. Can be used on both your body and face. It's one of those products that actually does what it says and works so much better than high end products. If you follow Dr Dray on Youtube then you will already know that she also recommends this cream a lot as well, especially for people using retinoids. I've been applying it alongside my Differin gel to combact dryness from it's use. After washing my face, I rub in a thin layer of this cream onto my damp skin (to lock in moisture) and follow with Differin after it's dry. Using it in this way as suggested by Dr Dray reduces the risk of irritation, but still allows the retinoid to be effective. Even if you are using it on it's own, the Cerave Cream will work brilliantly to soothe and soften your dry skin. It has great ingredients including ceramides which improve skin hydration. I have dehydrated combination skin and this has helped so much to repair my skin barrier along with following a good skincare routine. You really have to try it to believe it!ani.z
I discovered the Cerave line of products after a terrible psoriasis flare. I’m in my 30’s and decided it was finally time to start taking care of my skin. If you have sensitive skin Cerave is for you! If like me, you want to age naturally without interventions like Botox, fillers, and facelifts, and STILL have glowing, healthy, smooth skin, Cerave is for you! These are the products I use day/night, and the order I use them: Daytime: Step 1: Cleanse- with Hydrating Facial Cleanser (not pictured) I use a rubber facial brush to wash my face. I received this product complimentary from First Aid Beauty to review and give my honest opinions. This ultra repair cream has a rich thick balm texture. It is emollient without being greasy or heavy. It is suitable for all skin types but is designed to hydrate dry parched skin and is safe for sensitive skin. It is formulated with collodial oatmeal, shea butter, allantoin, ceramides and FAB's antioxidant booster. These ingredients work together to moisturise and soothe the skin. The tub says to apply from head to toe once or twice daily. I found that this was perfect for moisturising my body as it didn't leave my body feeling sticky like some creams do. It took some rubbing in to get rid of the white cast, but once it's worked into the skin it absorbs quickly. I did feel a bit of tingling on my skin, which I assume is from the eucalyptus oil and I can smell a slight hint of it in the cream. I was surprised to find that it also worked well for my face. It layered well on top of my serums and absorbed into my skin. My face felt nice and moisturised and this got rid of my dry patches. I had the opportunity to use it when I recently experienced patchy facial dryness after changing my skincare routine. I applied a thin layer to my face over serum and mucin toner before bed. I woke with plump, smooth skin that was no longer irritated and dry. I have combination-oily skin and found this to be moisturizing without causing my t-zone to become excessively oily. It worked well as a nighttime moisturizer but is quite heavy and would not be a good choice for daytime wear under makeup for my skin type in my opinion. This ample sample lasted through two full face applications. It is a great intense moisturizer for all skin types and perfect choice for those needing a barrier repair or skin cycling option. I’m so glad I bought a tester/sample size. It has silicone in it, so it will pill- especially if you use any other products that have silicone. Even with the most simple routines, no actives and just a serum or an oil it pills. A lot. Creates this gunk on your cheeks and jawline mixing with other ingredients in your routine. I keep it pretty ‘clean’ when it comes to my products and nothing else I use makes my face sticky, pill or any of that annoying stuff. This product though? I rarely experience it not pilling or, worse, turning into sludge just after using a couple of my pricey products that I feel are almost wasted when I use this over them. Especially when you’re paying a dollar or more per ml, would rather go a superior brand with cleaner ingredients. I just bought kiehls ultra because I’ve enjoyed that in the past. I bought this because I have dry, sensitive skin. I need lots of moisture. I’ve found it’s best to rely on more than just a moisturiser for the amount of moisture I need so I incorporate face oils – especially in cooler months – like rose hip, vitamin e oils and I’ve just bought face hero so will be back with a review on that. I recieved this in a ipsy bag years ago and it honestly took my forever to use because I didn't think I'd like it and I had got a full size and it honestly just took me forever to get around to trying but once I did omg I fell in love. Ive been using this now for 3 years. I call it my daytime fall/spring/summer moisturizer as I do need a thicker one at night and in the winter. I was having trouble with acne because, as I discovered later, my skin was too dry. I got a professional facial and the esthetician used this moisturizer on me. She gave me a sample to take home and said not to use it more than a couple times a week. I started using it daily and within about 5-7 days of consistent use, 90% of my acne was gone. I also changed my cleanser to something milder, which helped. I use .01% Retin A every night and this moisturizer helps a lot with the dryness. It’s not expensive either. I am a big fan of EltaMD products and have been really enjoying this Moisturizer. I purchased the one in the tube and I love how easy it is to get the product out and that it is more sanitary. I generally do not like skincare products in tubs so this is a great alternative to those containers. I apply an occlusive layer after my moisturizer to lock in moisture and find that my dry, irritated skin is much happier when I do. This product is one of the best moisturizers I have used in a very long time. I've been using it at night, but also a few times a week in the mornings and then just wiping it off like a mask product. It is amazing how dewy your skin feels and looks after using EltaMD Intense Moisturizer. Oh and it says it melts – it sure does! A little goes a long way and I'm even using it on my lips. This may be my new favorite product.

I received the Moisture Plumping Nectar Cream 8ML complimentary from AMOREPACIFIC. This cream is supposed to help with dehydrated skin and give a dewy and hydrated look. The description listed that the cream is made from a rare bamboo nectar naturally rich in amino acids and emollient for visible plumpness and moisture from morning until night—without feeling heavy. Now who doesn’t want something like that to try? The packaging of the cream that I received was inside a small white box. The cream came in a plastic jar that had a circular mirror on top of the cream. The jar is a light seafoam color and the bottom is silver like a mirror. If you are wondering about how to access the cream, you have to hold the top and the bottom of the jar and unscrew like you would a jar of sauce. I’m only saying this because at first, I couldn’t figure out how to get it to open. When I applied the cream, the first thing I noticed is the scent. It’s nice but kind of strong. For those of you who prefer fragrant free creams, this is not for you. I couldn’t place the type of flower the cream smelled like, so I looked it up. The scent is camellia seed oil and lotus flower extract. The direction is to use a small amount every morning and night. You can even wear it under makeup. It is also created to be Parabens free, Sulfates free, and Phthalates free. My thoughts on the cream is that the scent is a little too strong for me. But eventually, you get used to it and don’t even notice it anymore. I did wear the cream under makeup and noticed that I’m a little shinier than normal towards the end of the day. Also, while it hydrate my skin, I’ve noticed the my skin is breaking out a little bit. It’s mostly around my nose and mouth area. Overall, it’s a nice cream that does hydrate my skin and give me a glowing look. However, the scent is a little much for me and I don’t like that my skin is breaking out from using the cream. This is the only product, and I've tried most of the others, that gives me relief from leg cramps. I'm 83 years old and have had, or still have leg cramps often. I keep a can next to my bed for relief during the night when I get most of the cramps, And again, this is the only product that I found that works.
I'm in my fifties and I have thin skin. As well, I was a sun worshiper, so I have discoloration on my chest, shoulders and arms. I have been using Dermend long enough to notice a difference. I apply it every day to those areas, after I take a shower. The spots have faded a good bit.
