The hold is not there and my hair is low porosity type 2b hair and i did not find it reducing frizz either. When I am going to use a mousse, I always have some expectation of a certain “feeling” in terms of the texture of my hair. The reviews that state that it is difficult to run your fingers through are true… it is… but it feels more like strong hold hair spray. In areas I put too much, it is stiffer but if I did it lightly and directly on my roots, it does not feel that way. I have fine hair for reference. Now the important part and the reason I purchased the product…volume. I have SO MUCH volume. Even when I flatten my hair and then try to “fluff” it up again, it’s so voluminous.

I'm really tired of mousse that are too strong or sticky. This mousse is GREAT and no sticky feel. It really does a great job giving my hair lift. I have layered, color treated shoulder length hair. Sometimes I style it straight, sometimes in a natural wave. This works well either way. And did I say, no sticky feel??!Mature and still wearing makeup!

I was using Redken full frame 07 mousse but lately they don't have it stocked. I really needed something so this looked similar being it's lightly hydrating because I don't like crunchy mousse. This didn't do anything for my hair–maybe my hair is just too fine/thin? I have long, very fine/thin hair. When I first started using this I started out with maybe 7 pumps and ending up going up to 14 pumps with basically no results. I put it in freshly shampooed, damp hair. I experimented with blow-drying and allowing my hair to air dry afterward. With both forms of drying, my hair looked fluffier (than using nothing at all) for about the first 2 hours then fell completely flat and limp like I didn't put any products in it. The only pros were that it did not have an overpowering smell, was lightweight and did not make my hair greasy nor did it dry it out like some mousses can but it just didn't live up to it's claims of volume and fullness. Given the amount of positive reviews on it, it's probably just the fact that my hair is just too fine! I would only recommend this to someone if their hair is of normal thickness or thicker. I love that this product helps to hold my natural waves and it is so weightless, you use a lot and it never does with a crunchy feeling. Typically when I let my hair air dry, it does with a very inconsistent wave and very frizzy. I highly recommend and give it 5 stars without a doubt. For best coverage apply with a wide tooth comb or a brush. Once it dries, you can run your fingers through it and it's left feeling soft! If you see any little pieces setting quickly and frosting just wet and out a little more on that piece. On day two, just a little water and maybe a little more mouse, scrunch and it still looks great. Pictures show fully saturated after applying and what it looks like 12hrs later. I Have Naturally Curly Hair As Does My Daughter And For Thr Last Few Yeads I Have Been Wanting My Curls To Be Lighter And Softer So I Have Been Using Mousse, Except Other Mousse Brands Would Leave A Residue And Id Still Have To Wash My Hair More Frequently Than Id Like To. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. I love this volumizer! The “pump spray button” somewhat broke which was frustrating at first but ended up working in my favor. Be careful using too much because it can really dry out your hair. I apply just a few quick squirts at the roots of my hair sections to add some volume. I use Davines Oi Oil after applying to make my hair shiny and less dry feeling. This texturizer and the oil work wonders together.Crystal B.

This works as well as any, and better than most. I definitely get volume from it, though I'm always looking for more, and it doesn't leave my hair full of static as many mousses do. My hair is very thick and very straight, so it has to work pretty hard to provide some lif, but does so without being stiff or stickyt. It also lasts a long time in the can, which I think is a big plus, as other pretty good mousses often turn to useless liquid, no longer foam, before the can is empty. I hate that. I NEVER write reviews, but this product has changed my hair life. I get stopped in the store by strangers telling me they love my hair. Like with all products, I think there are things you can do to increase its success, the most important: blow dry it with a round brush. I do not even use a flat iron until day two or three, and then only to straighten some of the ends in the back. I am down to fixing my hair 2-3 times a week. On days two and three, I literally wake up, spray dry shampoo at the roots and dry conditioner at the ends, comb it, use the flat iron if absolutely necessary (usually only necessary on the under hair in the back), and hairspray. I have pretty thin, very straight hair. Its a great red color, but its usually pretty lifeless. I wanted to give this product a try, and I'm glad I only bought the mini version. It didn't work for me at all, which isn't uncommon with my hair. The first day I used it, it rained (my hair goes dead flat with humidity), so I gave it another try on a different day. However, the second day, there was no change. At first, once I finished blowdrying my hair, I thought it would actually work, but the results were mostly just from having just dried my hair. By the time I made it to my office, my hair was just as flat as ever, if not more so due to the presence of a product. I have very flat, fine hair. It is hard for me to get volume. This worked so much better than any other product I've tried. Put this in my hair after it was towel dried and then dried my hair upside down and BAM my hair had to much volume and also helped with texture to help my curls hold which my hair does not hold curls well either. I have fairly fine hair that is not thick and runs oily. This product gives me all-day natural volume whether I choose to wear my hair with its natural wave or blow it out in a straighter style. It feels touchable; I don't feel any buildup or oiliness. I am pretty sensitive to scents, that is my least favorite thing about this product as it does have an artificial confection-like scent but that dissipates after a little while if you can wait it out. It didn't make me sneeze or give me a headache though and I didn't smell like a grandma so since it also gave me the results I wanted I was willing to wait an hour for the bake shop to close! It is CGM-compliant so no silicones or sulfates and cruelty-free which I love. After trying a ton of foams and mouses this is the one I kept and use every day.Amanda

This didn't do anything for my hair–maybe my hair is just too fine/thin? I have long, very fine/thin hair. When I first started using this I started out with maybe 7 pumps and ending up going up to 14 pumps with basically no results. I put it in freshly shampooed, damp hair. I experimented with blow-drying and allowing my hair to air dry afterward. With both forms of drying, my hair looked fluffier (than using nothing at all) for about the first 2 hours then fell completely flat and limp like I didn't put any products in it. The only pros were that it did not have an overpowering smell, was lightweight and did not make my hair greasy nor did it dry it out like some mousses can but it just didn't live up to it's claims of volume and fullness. Given the amount of positive reviews on it, it's probably just the fact that my hair is just too fine! I would only recommend this to someone if their hair is of normal thickness or thicker. I honestly…love any type of mousse that can help my hair have more volume. This is one of those. I had gotten this mousse on sale at my local Walgreens with a coupon. So when I did try it out for the first time…I couldn't believe how little of product I used on my hair…and it still turned out fabulous…and side note: I have long hair…and I actually use just a little mousse combined with the hairspray …man..I couldn't believe how the outcome of my hair was…it was awesome!! ❤❤ my wavy curls lasted all day!!! I really love this product and a lot less expensive than Aquage root lift. Shake really well, hold the can upside down and apply directly to parted hair at scalp only. I apply to five sections from forehead to crown. Then I mush it all around on my scalp and let sit while putting on my makeup. Then blow dry and wow lots of volumne!!! Love, love, love!!KellCali

Love this product. I have wave/curls, and this makes my waves hold, prevents them from falling flat and frizzy, and allows my curls to actually form. I typically have to wash my hair every 3 days, and most products I’ve tried tend to build up and make my hair greasy before day 3. This one doesn’t. It’s super light, and I can easily refresh my hair each day by getting all my hair wet and adding in a little more mousse. The other thing I love is that it doesn’t have an overpowering scent. I get headaches if I use a product that smells too strong, and this one is at just the right level of smelling nice without being too perfume-y.ophelia.p

Ive been using Cantu products for years now. I absolutely LOVE their coconut curling cream, so I decided to give the curling mousse a try. Upon first using the product, it has the same great smell and easy application process… however.. after my hair dried, this product left it with a very “greasy” textured look.
