The hold is not there and my hair is low porosity type 2b hair and i did not find it reducing frizz either. I pair this mousse with the Curl Enhancing Smoothie from the same product line and they work really well together! I section my hair and evenly distribute the Smoothie, then I use this Mousse to focus on my ends. Finally blowdry with a diffuser attachment. When I use both products together my curls clump together nicely and my ends stay frizz-free. I can also use the Mousse on its own for a more natural/less defined curl. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. This works as well as any, and better than most. I definitely get volume from it, though I'm always looking for more, and it doesn't leave my hair full of static as many mousses do. My hair is very thick and very straight, so it has to work pretty hard to provide some lif, but does so without being stiff or stickyt. It also lasts a long time in the can, which I think is a big plus, as other pretty good mousses often turn to useless liquid, no longer foam, before the can is empty. I hate that. I have long, fine hair with below-average thickness (not thin, but definitely not thick). I have been getting American Waves (a chemical process similar to a perm) for six months, which gives me a 2A/2B very loose waves. (My natural texture is "bendy", a mix of type 1 and 2A.) This is one of many products I have tried for air-dry styling*. I have used medium-hold gels, salt sprays, mousses, and air-dry creams. This is my favorite product so far for Day 1 results, but doesn't perform as well on Day 2+. What I like: – Like other Moroccanoil products, the smell is amazing and not too strong. – Very rich thick foam (definitely feels like a luxe product) – Gives nice definition and volume on Day 1 – Lightly moisturizing and doesn't weigh my hair down – Not sticky at all What I don't like: – It's pricey – On Day 2+, my hair looked "mussed". I still had good definition, but my whole head had more of a frizzy/fuzzy "halo" that I get with my favorite products (or no products). That said, I am still inexperienced with wavy styling, so that might be due to my (lack of) refresh technique. I am going to experiment with that, and see if I get better results. * I have found that my wash technique has a bigger impact on my results than the styling product I use. I wash with Kenra volumizing shampoo and scrunch in their conditioner, wet plopping in a shower cap before rinsing. Then I dry-plop in a microfiber towel after scrunching in a styling product (or not). After air drying, I zhuzh the roots for volume. What I most love about this product is that it keeps my hair safe from frizz throughout the day. I have found that if I spray too much it sometimes leaves a slight white residue on my hair but this doesn’t happen very often and it’s not very noticeable. I received this sample from Influenster for my honest review. To begin, my hair is type 1 and slightly on the dry side. It thin to medium, unprocessed and is fairly silky. For me, this worked okay, not great (although I’m not one to style my hair often). It has a decent hold and decent humidity resistance. The crunch is expected for a firm hold so I did not mind it as long as it held my hair in place. For an average day, it held my hair for a few hours (not all day). The smell is good, but I have a sensitive nose so the smell does linger on for quite a bit which I don’t particularly enjoy. One concern I do have is that I noticed a bit of a white residue on my hair with this. I should mention, however, that my sister tried it and said she liked it and that it held her hair well. I received this complementary in exchange for my review thanks to Influenster and Biolage! I will start by saying that I deducted a star because it says this is a humidity-resistant hairspray and I was super excited about that element of this product but I didn't notice any humidity protection. Now onto the things I like about this hairspray… this hairspray REALLY dries fast, like almost instantly and I like that a lot. This hairspray also holds my hairstyle extremely well and for the whole day. The thing I love most about this hairspray is that it provides so much volume to my hair! I just did like the bottle said and lifted my hair and sprayed close to my roots. I've used a couple of different volumizing hair sprays but this one provided the best results, it just didn't last because the humidity flattened my hair and curls. If you don't like scents, you may not like this. It has a hairspray smell mixed with a slight floral type of smell. I like it, it smells better than other hairsprays to me. I found it pretty hard to wash this hairspray out of my hair, which is a good thing because it probably holds up well in the rain. Even though I deducted a star I'd still recommend this because it's a great hairspray, I love the volume it added to my hair!

With 3b curls that are dry, coarse, long, tangly and graying…I've been struggling lately. I want so badly to keep my hair long and grow it longer than I've ever had the patience to. I purchased this Ouidad VitalCurl mousse today (last one on the shelf!), because I was desperately trying to just get my hair to look good. I got home with my new product and hit the shower right away. After washing/conditioning I put a bit of my previously purchased Ouidad VitalCurl Tress Effects Gel in my palm and added a a nice dollop of this mousse on top and mixed it together until no foam remained and I was left with a wonderfully slippery gel-consistency. I repeated the process once more to make sure I coated everything. I used an Olivia Garden brush to distribute the product and let it dry naturally. It didn't take as long to fully dry as when I use my gel with other hair creams and my hair had a cast that was so perfect it still looked wet when it was fully dry. I was so happy with the results that I feel like I can let this unruly mom keep on growing. At least my ponytail would look good and not a frizzy mess like it usually does. This is THE one product from Ouidad that I feel I can't do without. Granted, I haven't used it by itself but when a curly girl finds her perfect recipe, it's a challenge to stray from it for fear of ruining the outcome. As a side note, I have used the gel mentioned above by itself and I loved the curl formation, however, it's a very foamy gel once I start applying it and it makes a squooshing noise and turns white. I always like to switch to a mousse come summer, and in the South humidity is your nemesis. I thought I'd give this a try since I've used the volume mousse from Kristin Ess (I love the smell and the vegan ethics behind the brand!) and loved that. I wanted to find a mousse that cut down drying time and didn't need a diffuser… so I can sleep in. Beauty rest is important. Here's where things went wrong for me. I have thick hair. I get regular highlights. I use heat to style my hair 50% of the time. So needless to say my curly hair loves and needs moisture, and there is obvious damage. If you have any damage on your hair, avoid this product. I used it in conjunction with my leave-in conditioner and this mousse still dried out my hair enough to create a ring of frizz on top of my head. This should be a lightweight mousse for tousled waves, but my hair is far to heavy for this weak formula. Oddly enough, most of my curls pulled out during the drying process. So If you're all about that waterfall of curls cascading down your back… this product just isn't going to cut it. It's lightweight and really designed for short to mid-range hair lengths with minimal damage. If you're au natural about your hair- give this a try. I think there's a certain audience that will love this product. But I need a serious product for serious curls… and this just isn't the solution.Princess Peach
My hair LOVES sea salt! It makes my stringy waves much more full and fluffy. Better than sea salt spray. This sea salt mousse genuinely gives me beach babe hair ! I don't use any other product either. I air dry with this alone and refresh with it too! I am so glad that this product is still around. I've been using it off and on for years but wanted to experiment with other styling products. I can honestly say, none of the products I tried can compare to the Phomollient. The light and airy foam is deceptively strong; even holding up in the humidity without weighing my hair down. I was hesitant to buy because my fine thin hair doesnt do well with any styling product all over. I was hoping to use it to let me slightly wavy hair dry naturally and maybe they won't be frizzy. But it is too heavy for that. My hair was soft to touch but no longer silky, so not great for leaving your hair natural. However, since it plumps your hair and still leaves it soft, its best for when you are going to use a curling iron or waver on it, or do an updo that you want in stay in place and not be crunchy. I have been searching for an air dry styling product for my fine, wavy, short hair. I've used mousse, but it dries crunchy and weighs down my hair. Bought this to try, and OMG, it's amazing! I used a small amount throughout my hair, scrunched/styled it, and checked back on it a half hour later. Omg okay, these are the best hair products I have ever tried, and believe me I have tried a lot! My hair is long, frizzy, and wavy but not the nice kinds of waves, the waves that are messy and just frizzy strands. I bought the medium hair shampoo, conditioner, mask, leave-in conditioner, and air dry foam and I loved everything so much that I went ahead and bought the hair oil and curl cream. I have 2a / 2b waves that are medium/thick and very frizz prone. I've been using this product throughout fall and winter, which is not my frizziest season (that's summer), so I can't comment on the frizz taming factor. However I can tell you that it's a great product for creating wave formations in the hair without any residue or scalp irritation. Previously I was using Oribe Curl Control, but I noticed that my scalp was always irritated, so I tried this. It works really well. I always spritz on the Ouai Leave In before scrunching in the foam, as they have the same scent and the leave in gives my hair some shine. Neither of these products are super moisturizing or great for dryness, so I always scrunch in some oil or taming cream when my hair is mostly dry. I recommend this!DesiWoman

I love this product, I really do. It's got a great formula, it's good for curls and/or waves, and it's got wonderful hold. If you're looking for a way to boost your waves or make them look more lifted, this is a perfect choice. The only downfall in my opinion is how intense the cast is, that crunch drives me insane. Love this only thing that works on my curly hair! Just wow on the price when did that happen?! Used this for 10years plus use to only be like ?3 and thought it was expensive then and today ?7 still I cant be without it. Make sure you dont brush your hair just put your fingers through your hair a few times the scrunch it , then dab with a towel dont rub .big ball of frizz ease in your hand and distribute it.I let mine dry naturally as it works best when almost dry I tip my upside down and scrunch it till it feels soft feeling just a few times does the job you will find the right technique that suits your hair as we are all different but it does really help/worksupermommy

I have curls that are between 2b 2c and have been letting my curls be free and I don’t straighten my hair like I used to. I really like this mousse, you shake it up good before using then turn it upside down dispense a small amount of foam into palm. I bought this to try after using the curl talk cream and gel religiously for a while which I LOVE. I have mostly type 2b/c hair with some 3A pieces and don't usually have a problem with definition/volume, but this pretty much gave me neither just made my hair frizzy and I really don't like the way it feels to the touch. It leaves a pretty strong cast that is difficult to get out even when scrunching with oil and if you live in a super humid place like me, then so much humidity will make your hair crunchy all over again. I ignored the reviews in hopes that maybe it would work for me to simplify my routine, but I wish I had just repurchased my tried and true instead. I honestly prefer just my hair air dried with only a light leave in (pretty loose waves-not like what I get with the cream/gel but doable) to what this gives me. I'm gunna try to power through and finish this but I have a feeling I won't. Listen to the reviews and just save yourself the time and money it's not worth the like 2% chance this will actually work for you. Very sticky mousse! Dispensing this foam and rubbing it between my hands felt like I had just opened a bottle of hair spray and poured it into my hands. I couldn't believe how sticky this stuff was! I used a very small amount, applied to my roots first and the combed the rest through my hair with my fingers. After scrunching my hair, washing my hands and blow drying on the lowest setting with a diffuser I was left with wet-looking, crunchy curls. Trying to reactivate the next day by misting my hair with a little water and letting air dry I was left with really dry, hard hair feeling like I had used lots of hair spray. Couldn't get my fingers through it, no way a comb or brush would make it. So happy to wash this stuff out of my hair. Throwing this in the trash and will look for something else. Probably the worst hair product I have ever used and that's saying a lot!Debby
I have low porosity, medium density wavy/looser curly hair. The bottom part of my hair has tighter ringlets/curls while the hair closer to my crown is a bit looser and tends to be weighed down or fall. I use this after applying leave-in and curl cream on wet hair and scrunch in! If I’m using gel, I don’t usually use this since my hair doesn’t really need both! It smells really good (the entire line does!) and it doesn’t weigh my hair down! It’s really easy to emulsify, you don’t need a lot of product. It helps control my frizz and defines my curls much better and it’s so easy to refresh day 2-3 hair with this product too!maria.m

When I had a perm back in the day,this was what kept it tame,and less frizzy. I loved this stuff. It was super affordable, and I bought it over and over again. It smells good to me. I have used the extra hold version of this mousse for years and years. This is not a strong enough hold for my frizzy hair, and it doesn't hold if you have really curly hair. I need a stronger hold, but the sunscreen is very effective. I only use this if the store is out of my usual brand.

This product had good hold but I am dissatisfied with how quickly it went flat. I used as directed but the bottle has at least 90% of contents left and no longer expands into a foam when dispensed. It is a runny mess to use and I suspect I use too much when it doesn’t expand. Hair ends up heavy and frozen as if it is still wet. I will not purchase this product again.Jenny
Everything about the packaging is great except I do find it hard to only get small bit into your hand. This could be a good and bad thing depending on how you use the product but when I use it I do have to waste some product because so much comes out. The results left my hair very voluminous. I had a huge difference in my hair, which was great. It lasted a while which was even better. The only downfall is it did leave my hair feeling greasy, if I would run my hands through my hair, my hands would feel oily with the residual product on them. My hair did also begin to look oily towards the end of the day (this was freshly cleaned hair and my hair normally doesnt get oily until I sleep on it for a night). But I did overall love the lift result and someone elses hair may absorb it way differently than mine and may not actually leave any residual product. Definitely worth the risk because of the result so I do recommend to try.Mad968
I usually like this product as it gets my hair nicely loose and volumed for blowdrying, and so I ordered 2 bottles online. One of them is fine but the other doesn’t foam up when pumped – it comes out as liquid mush. Returning is too much of a hassle – who has time for that for a $13 product. And I don’t think I can take it into a store and swap it , they will tell me to use the online return process. So am stuck with an unusable bottle of this product.Greg1010

I ordered the Treatment Set along with the matching TSV Treatment Set. I have been using Bella Spirit Indigo since it came out. If you haven’t tried that yet I highly suggest it. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair. My hair is brown and I have pretty silver streaks coming in. I think it will be pretty when it all turns but time will tell. Now back to the mousse. This adds body bounce and shine and takes away and keeps away any frizziness. Honestly my hair has never looked as healthy. The shine is crazy good. There is no stickiness or stiffness. Looked forward to trying this since I’ve been ordering the WEN cleansing conditioner from QVC for 12 years and still love it (Fig and the summer Mango Coconut are my go-to’s). Have been bored with my current leave-in product so thought I’d try the mousse for something different, unfortunately it doesn’t work for me…some ingredient made my scalp itch (have sensitive skin, that’s why I love WEN) and after one day my hair felt a bit stiff and it was hard to run my fingers through, not a good feeling. My hair is naturally thick, coarse and a bit dry, so maybe the mousse isn’t the right fit for me. Ordered the Pomegranate and the fragrance is wonderful, wish it would have worked out!QVCQueen7
