I wanted to like this, but I just don’t. It leaves your hair feeling dirty and crusty the same way a sea salt mousse would. I use mouse in my hair quite often. I like the way gives my hair and curls bounce without stiffness. This one though whether your hair is clean or not, leaves your hair feeling dry, dirty and crusty. It’s supposed to be for dry curly hair. it’s supposed to soften, defined and volumize with a flexible hold. well it doesn’t hold flexibly. actually, after you put it in just makes your hair feel like straw. My first impression is I love the packaging the blue and gold is very pretty. I also like the smell. It’s a really strong coconut scent. So if your not into strong or coconut fragrances I wouldn’t recommend this line of products from Maui Moisture. First I used this mousse first on my daughters tightly coiled hair along with the gel and it worked okay but nothing to rave about it defined the coils and gave a nice shine. The second day however I noticed her hair had so many flakes I had to wash it out. I would say that I will not use this again for her because it has somewhat of a drying effect on naturally coiled hair. When I used it on my hair I didn’t like the way it felt going on. It felt kinda stiff and drying so I didn’t use on my full head. I would not recommend to for thick coiled or tightly curled natural hair.kristina.b

When I am going to use a mousse, I always have some expectation of a certain “feeling” in terms of the texture of my hair. The reviews that state that it is difficult to run your fingers through are true… it is… but it feels more like strong hold hair spray. In areas I put too much, it is stiffer but if I did it lightly and directly on my roots, it does not feel that way. I have fine hair for reference. Now the important part and the reason I purchased the product…volume. I have SO MUCH volume. Even when I flatten my hair and then try to “fluff” it up again, it’s so voluminous.

I'm really tired of mousse that are too strong or sticky. This mousse is GREAT and no sticky feel. It really does a great job giving my hair lift. I have layered, color treated shoulder length hair. Sometimes I style it straight, sometimes in a natural wave. This works well either way. And did I say, no sticky feel??!Mature and still wearing makeup!

This didn't do anything for my hair–maybe my hair is just too fine/thin? I have long, very fine/thin hair. When I first started using this I started out with maybe 7 pumps and ending up going up to 14 pumps with basically no results. I put it in freshly shampooed, damp hair. I experimented with blow-drying and allowing my hair to air dry afterward. With both forms of drying, my hair looked fluffier (than using nothing at all) for about the first 2 hours then fell completely flat and limp like I didn't put any products in it. The only pros were that it did not have an overpowering smell, was lightweight and did not make my hair greasy nor did it dry it out like some mousses can but it just didn't live up to it's claims of volume and fullness. Given the amount of positive reviews on it, it's probably just the fact that my hair is just too fine! I would only recommend this to someone if their hair is of normal thickness or thicker. What? I have volume! I kept thinking why is my hair looking so good and then it hit me. That lovely gentle mousse I applied….worked. First time ever that a voluminizing product has worked for my fine highlighted hair. I also have terrible eczema on my hands and this mousse was like a dream come true it didn’t sting it didn’t make my hands itch it just actually did what it was supposed to do. This product had good hold but I am dissatisfied with how quickly it went flat. I used as directed but the bottle has at least 90% of contents left and no longer expands into a foam when dispensed. It is a runny mess to use and I suspect I use too much when it doesn’t expand. Hair ends up heavy and frozen as if it is still wet. I will not purchase this product again.Jenny
Everything about the packaging is great except I do find it hard to only get small bit into your hand. This could be a good and bad thing depending on how you use the product but when I use it I do have to waste some product because so much comes out. The results left my hair very voluminous. I had a huge difference in my hair, which was great. It lasted a while which was even better. The only downfall is it did leave my hair feeling greasy, if I would run my hands through my hair, my hands would feel oily with the residual product on them. My hair did also begin to look oily towards the end of the day (this was freshly cleaned hair and my hair normally doesnt get oily until I sleep on it for a night). But I did overall love the lift result and someone elses hair may absorb it way differently than mine and may not actually leave any residual product. I usually like this product as it gets my hair nicely loose and volumed for blowdrying, and so I ordered 2 bottles online. One of them is fine but the other doesn’t foam up when pumped – it comes out as liquid mush. Returning is too much of a hassle – who has time for that for a $13 product. I recently bought a can of Suave – Firm Control Boosting Mousse and loved it — for about three uses. The mousse, when used sparing, gave just the right body to my fine hair – very pleased with results. After the third or fourth use, however, the can became non-functional. Therefore, thinking I bought a defective can, I bought another can and after only two uses had the same experience. Running the nozzle under hot water only "fixed" one can, but then the product came out as a liquid, not with mousse consistency, even after a solid minute of shaking. You need to fix this issue: It's very frustrating. From what I have been now reading in reviews, this same packaging issue has been taking place for at least three to four years. The BEST product for taming frizzy hair and keeping the curl for 2 days. I have tried every gel, foam, product claiming to keep curly hair curly. Most leave your hair goopy and only last a few hours. This ( and the pink mousse) both control the frizz and sculpt the curl . I apply to clean towel dry hair. I comb thru and then scrunch the hair. Sometimes I put clips in until it's mostly dry. The result is bouncy curls that last thru 2 days. The first day can feel a little crunchy, but by the 2nd day, the curls are soft, even after sleeping on them. I highly recommend this. And the price can't be beat. Thank you Suave for making a product that does not dry my hair. And when you rinse it out, it feels like conditioner.Michele

I have used the extra hold version of this mousse for years and years. This is not a strong enough hold for my frizzy hair, and it doesn't hold if you have really curly hair. I need a stronger hold, but the sunscreen is very effective. I only use this if the store is out of my usual brand.

I used the prior version for several years on my 2b/2c curls. My hair is fine and I need the hold of a lightweight mousse. I bought this new version without realizing the new nozzle went with a new formulation of the product. It went from a whipped cream consistency to something that looks and feels like the bubbles at the end of your bubble bath. It falls apart immediately and you can't tell how much to use without your hair getting crunchy and weighed down. My hair looks bedraggled. I love this product for many reasons. It gives me such lovely definition, volume and texture without leaving a sticky residue and the ingredients are fantastic. I also feel like it plays nicely with every other product I have tried with it. It took me awhile to figure out what application method worked best for my hair and now that I have it down, my hair comes out beautifully, not just on wash day or the day following, but for the entire week, my curls look gorgeous with very little maintenance. I prefer to style my hair with a leave in, a gel/custard/souffle and then I diffuse until it partially dry. Once my hair is 50-60% dry, I add four to eight pumps of this magical foam, focusing on the roots then working my way down the entire length, scrunching along the way, and then I resume diffusing. Excellent results, every time. To refresh, I usually slightly dampen my hair and apply a watered down version of a leave in or curl cream (gel when necessary), hit it with the diffuser and depending on what my hair needs, one or two more pumps of foam, often times, none. I was skeptical about spending almost $30 on one product, especially with my negative experiences with a different higher end brand a few years ago. But I must say, this product is totally worth it for me in regards to quality and how much I use. I get maximum results with little amount of product. I would recommend this product and will most definitely be purchasing it again and again. My curl type for those interested is predominantly 3b with some 3c and 3a mixed in. Normal porosity. I have medium length, 2a hair that's prone to frizziness. My roots can get greasy and the ends of my hair can get dry/develop split ends. I don't spend a lot of time on my hair and I don't like to use a lot of products – I'm looking for something I can put in wet hair to bring out my waves and help my hair air dry nicely. Overall, this product works pretty well for me. It does bring out my waves (albeit not as much as the toxic curl creams I've used in the past) without too much stickiness. It feels lightweight and does add a bit of volume. And, I really like the smell! It's faintly herbally/floral/citrus, without being overpowering. Overall, I'd recommend with the caveat that your expectations shouldn't be the same as traditional curl products from mainstream, prestige (non clean) haircare brands.

EDIT – after using this in a variety of ways, I can honestly say it’s terrible for air drying. It works best to dry hair soon after applying, because letting it air dry in any way makes it sticky, my hair is hard to brush, and it weighs down my roots. My issue was that while I was blow drying my hair it was so difficult to style. It made the brush not pull through nicely it kind of hung up everywhere! My hair is very long. Past my shoulder blades, very fine and very thin. I suspect with shorter hair this might not be a problem but it made it difficult for me to use! It has a nice scent like the matching shampoo and conditioner, which I loved! So while it did give me tons of volume it made my hair too difficult to work with so I wouldn’t pick it up again.kathrin.m

I was in love with got2b kinkier. It was the only product that controlled my curls. With high expectations I tried git2b twisted when kinkier was discontinued. It comes no where close to kinkier. It left my hair with a white residue, very dry, and minimal curl control. Very big disappointment fron got2b.melissa.g
I’ve had many compliments on my hair since using this product. It’s become an essential styling aid for my long wavy hair. It really helps define my waves into more refined curls and adds volume with medium hold which lasts till the following day. I’ve tried countless other “curling products” but this one tops them all… as it actually does what it claims and twists the curls into shape. I also love how it lifts and shapes the hair at the crown allowing more space between the curls so my long hair isn’t weighed down or clumped by the product. As the previously reviewer mentioned it may leave a crunchy finish, but only slightly in my opinion (in some areas with product build up). However if I apply a little at a time (scrunching in between each application) or combing through before scrunching it applies more evenly without building up in specific areas. Even if I’m in a rush and end up with a slight crunch in some areas, I just lightly run my fingers through and it breaks up any excess residue. A total must have in my opinion for anyone with untruely waves/curls (especially for medium/long hair). I hope Schwarzkopfdon’t change this formula as I haven’t found anything like it!Melmel
Since using this curling mousse,my curly hair is more defined and bouncier than ever.It keeps my hair frizz-free and my curls lasted much more longer than I've never experienced with any other similar product. Love the subtle fragance and how It didn't make my hair feeling crispy and hardened.I applied a generous amount of the lightweight twisted curling mousse to my cleaned damp very long hair and blow drying with my diffuser head down.Afterwards the results is unbelievable.The foam is not sticky,doesn't weight down my hair and the nozzle bottle is very easy to use. Each time I'm very impressed how beautiful my curls get with this very good quality curling mousse.Tried lots of this kind of product before but none of them was as good as this got2be one.I just love how it makes my hair soft and keeps my curls into shape all day long.Will surely continue using it to get the perfect curls each day.
