I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. I was quite looking forward to using this most from all my purchases. However, I was quite disappointed. It is more of a foam not mousse. The hold is not there and my hair is low porosity type 2b hair and i did not find it reducing frizz either. I pair this mousse with the Curl Enhancing Smoothie from the same product line and they work really well together! I section my hair and evenly distribute the Smoothie, then I use this Mousse to focus on my ends. Finally blowdry with a diffuser attachment. When I use both products together my curls clump together nicely and my ends stay frizz-free. I can also use the Mousse on its own for a more natural/less defined curl. With 3b curls that are dry, coarse, long, tangly and graying…I've been struggling lately. I want so badly to keep my hair long and grow it longer than I've ever had the patience to. I purchased this Ouidad VitalCurl mousse today (last one on the shelf!), because I was desperately trying to just get my hair to look good. I got home with my new product and hit the shower right away. After washing/conditioning I put a bit of my previously purchased Ouidad VitalCurl Tress Effects Gel in my palm and added a a nice dollop of this mousse on top and mixed it together until no foam remained and I was left with a wonderfully slippery gel-consistency. I repeated the process once more to make sure I coated everything. I used an Olivia Garden brush to distribute the product and let it dry naturally. It didn't take as long to fully dry as when I use my gel with other hair creams and my hair had a cast that was so perfect it still looked wet when it was fully dry. I was so happy with the results that I feel like I can let this unruly mom keep on growing. At least my ponytail would look good and not a frizzy mess like it usually does. This is THE one product from Ouidad that I feel I can't do without. Granted, I haven't used it by itself but when a curly girl finds her perfect recipe, it's a challenge to stray from it for fear of ruining the outcome. As a side note, I have used the gel mentioned above by itself and I loved the curl formation, however, it's a very foamy gel once I start applying it and it makes a squooshing noise and turns white. I have wavy/curly hair, medium texture. Pre-pandemic, I was recommended Moroccanoil by my stylist. But, since the product I was using at the time was working well, I didn't bother trying Moroccanoil. However, recently, my usual product reformulated and changed drastically for the worse. It no longer worked. So, I decided to try a few products from Moroccanoil (oil treatment, curl defining cream, and curl control mousse). To my dismay, all the products I tried smell like alcohol and aftershave. While I do get a little more bounce and a little more curl than my previous brand, non of the products I tried is great with frizz control. I've tried letting my hair air dry and I've also used a diffuser on low and medium settings. I'm fine with paying for a product that works. But, I feel that I have been ripped off. I LOVE this product and this whole brand. I was sent a sample of the curl defining cream and the smell won me over instantly. It just makes your hair smell so good. My husband thought it was my shampoo or conditioner, but he told me my hair smelt so good the first time I used this product. I even went and bought the perfect defense heat protector spray after they sent me this sample. I use it after I curl my hair with my straightener and it just makes my hair smell amazing, reduces any frizz left, and makes my curls bouncy. I also let my daughter use it and she loved it as well. This product works! The only thing is that there are other products on the market for curl defining that are very similar for way less and that’s why I took off a whole star. As of now, I’ve stuck with Cantu’s curl defining cream so I can compare it to that. Unlike Cantu’s, this cream is super lightweight! Doesn’t feel heavy or greasy but still gets the job done. My curls were super shiny and they were defined. I put mousse over it and it did a wonderful job of keeping my curls frizz free. The smell alone was amazing. I would only get this when I want to splurge. Although it did wonders, it’s still not something I’d spend $36 on. These products tend to run out quick if you have curly hair or long hair and it’s just not worth it. I NEVER write reviews, but this product has changed my hair life. I get stopped in the store by strangers telling me they love my hair. Like with all products, I think there are things you can do to increase its success, the most important: blow dry it with a round brush. I do not even use a flat iron until day two or three, and then only to straighten some of the ends in the back. I am down to fixing my hair 2-3 times a week. On days two and three, I literally wake up, spray dry shampoo at the roots and dry conditioner at the ends, comb it, use the flat iron if absolutely necessary (usually only necessary on the under hair in the back), and hairspray. I have pretty thin, very straight hair. Its a great red color, but its usually pretty lifeless. I wanted to give this product a try, and I'm glad I only bought the mini version. It didn't work for me at all, which isn't uncommon with my hair. The first day I used it, it rained (my hair goes dead flat with humidity), so I gave it another try on a different day. However, the second day, there was no change. At first, once I finished blowdrying my hair, I thought it would actually work, but the results were mostly just from having just dried my hair. By the time I made it to my office, my hair was just as flat as ever, if not more so due to the presence of a product. I have very flat, fine hair. It is hard for me to get volume. This worked so much better than any other product I've tried. Put this in my hair after it was towel dried and then dried my hair upside down and BAM my hair had to much volume and also helped with texture to help my curls hold which my hair does not hold curls well either. Pros: #1 it's very affordable and it will last you a long time. #2 It will give your curls amazing definition. #3 It's a medium hold, it will leave a cast but once the cast is broken you are left with super defined, flexible hold and soft curl. Cons: #1 It's a Canadian products and its hard to come by. Mostly sold on the ground for about $5.99 at Marshall's and T.J Max. It's also found online for a higher price. #2 For those who are protein sensitive -It contains protein. If your curls like or can handle protein I would still recommend you use a moisturizing leave in or cream under this gel. Use an oil or a moisturizing leave in to SOTC. As the gel tends to leave you with a dry felling after day 2.My honest opinion: I am in love with this gel so much so I ordered 2 more jars online @houseofbeautyworld ($7.99). If you are looking for a CGF gel to provide definition, soft long lasting curls, amazing volume and you want a budget friendly gel, this is it. My curls are Fine 3B Medium porosity. What a fun brand – this packaging is so retro! Even though it is not my go to product, I do enjoy it. I found mine in Marshalls, but other than that you can mainly buy it from Amazon making it harder to find. It does enhance your curly hair create nice texture without weighing your hair down. Easy to distribute and a little goes a long way. So if you can find it in store buy it, but I normally do drugstore having to order online is not always easy to do. I felt no tacky residue and curls dried good. Overall I had a positive experience just disappointed with availability. 💖lindsey.j
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE 'TRESLÚCE BEAUTY – INTENSO LINER DUO', not yet in the Influenster database. To be honest, I wasn't really excited for these. BUT, that all changed as soon as I got them into my hands, I'm thoroughly impressed! These pencil liners are the 'sharpenable' format, which I do enjoy. They are both (my favorite) gel formula – allowing them to be intensely pigmented, yet still maintain a very soft smooth application. These liners are multipurpose – great for working into an eyeshadow look, or adding a dash of color onto the waterline. Both of the colors actually look really good blended together, but they also look stunning on their own. I found that this particular formula was very difficult to remove, which is great for lasting power!melissa.j

I bought this to try after using the curl talk cream and gel religiously for a while which I LOVE. I have mostly type 2b/c hair with some 3A pieces and don't usually have a problem with definition/volume, but this pretty much gave me neither just made my hair frizzy and I really don't like the way it feels to the touch. It leaves a pretty strong cast that is difficult to get out even when scrunching with oil and if you live in a super humid place like me, then so much humidity will make your hair crunchy all over again. I ignored the reviews in hopes that maybe it would work for me to simplify my routine, but I wish I had just repurchased my tried and true instead. I honestly prefer just my hair air dried with only a light leave in (pretty loose waves-not like what I get with the cream/gel but doable) to what this gives me. I'm gunna try to power through and finish this but I have a feeling I won't. Listen to the reviews and just save yourself the time and money it's not worth the like 2% chance this will actually work for you. Very sticky mousse! Dispensing this foam and rubbing it between my hands felt like I had just opened a bottle of hair spray and poured it into my hands. I couldn't believe how sticky this stuff was! I used a very small amount, applied to my roots first and the combed the rest through my hair with my fingers. After scrunching my hair, washing my hands and blow drying on the lowest setting with a diffuser I was left with wet-looking, crunchy curls. Trying to reactivate the next day by misting my hair with a little water and letting air dry I was left with really dry, hard hair feeling like I had used lots of hair spray. Couldn't get my fingers through it, no way a comb or brush would make it. So happy to wash this stuff out of my hair. Throwing this in the trash and will look for something else. Probably the worst hair product I have ever used and that's saying a lot!Debby
I have low porosity, medium density wavy/looser curly hair. The bottom part of my hair has tighter ringlets/curls while the hair closer to my crown is a bit looser and tends to be weighed down or fall. I use this after applying leave-in and curl cream on wet hair and scrunch in! If I’m using gel, I don’t usually use this since my hair doesn’t really need both! It smells really good (the entire line does!) and it doesn’t weigh my hair down! It’s really easy to emulsify, you don’t need a lot of product. It helps control my frizz and defines my curls much better and it’s so easy to refresh day 2-3 hair with this product too!maria.m

I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. For the past year or so, my hair has returned to a state of greasy last seen when I was a teenager decades ago. Add in that I have hyper sensitive skin and scalp and it has been a frustrating battle. I would no sooner wash my hair and the minute it was dry I could feel the grease. Trying sensitive shampoos meant to degrease only led to a dry itchy scalp and persistent grease. I recalled using Paul Mitchel products in my twenties. I was both excited and apprehensive because my skin is much more sensitive these days. The shampoos, as far as I could tell, did not specify sensitivity. I choose what I felt would balance my hair since that is what the description stated. The conditioner being Super Skinny. I used just the smallest amounts to start as a means to test for any reactions. No reactions and my hair has not felt this clean and itch less in so long. Product works, smells good only at the beginning, after few uses doesn't smell any more. I purchased 3 twin packs because of the good reviews, and it works but unfortunately the container doesn't work after using only about a third of the can, no matter how much you shake it, it doesn't dispense any mousse. So far 3 cans in a row same bad quality!!! I've tried numerous products from various manufacturers, low-end and high-end, and haven't been able to find anything to hold my curls in place without them frizzing. Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Hair Mouse is just the right mix of hold and lightweight styling without feeling sticky or hard in my hair. I had to laugh this morning, though, because the instructions on the bottle say to style your hair until you reach "imperfection." When dealing with extremely curly hair, every day is a imperfect day when it comes to hair styling. Throw in summer heat and humidity, and I just want to put a bag over my head! LOL! I really like this product, it's very lightweight and has a decent amount of hold. I have fine 2B, 2C waves and currently its mostly long layers at my shoulders so it's very easy to weigh down. I find I can add as much product of this as I want and it doesn't feel greasy or limp or anything. I love that it's very affordable and I love that it actually forms a cast. I do have some trouble with the hold in humidity in particular, but I found the right hairspray will help with that. Tressame 4 has been my hairspray for years. Unscented, good hold without being sticky or wet. But the last can I bought with the "new look" was a totally different hairspray. I bought unscented as always but the smell is horrible, strong and overbearing. It is a wet spray as well. My fine hair goes limp with this "new look". I am returning that can to Walmart. I went to Kroger and bought 3 cans with the old look. How my curls will turn out day to day is a little like playing hair roulette. I have tried hundreds of products but ultimately my curls have a mind of their own. TRESemmé Curl Care Flawless Curls Hair Extra Hold Mousse is the only thing that really works on my hair to give them the volume and definition that I so desperately seek. However, that doesn’t mean it is consistent. I can use the exact same product the exact same way and some days my curls just won’t cooperate… Oh the woes of curly hair! Still this is the best product I have found for me thus far. It works well in a variety of climates. Moreover, the price can’t be beat! A few pro tips: Apply TRESemmé Curl Care Flawless Curls Hair Extra Hold Mousse when your hair is still wet.. and I don’t mean a little wet! Skip the towel drying and start the scrunching. Follow up with a small amount of hair oil and then diffuse if that is your thing. Personally I like to let my hair dry naturally but to each their own. Also don’t use too much or your hair will be crunchy. I knew something happened when I couldn't find this mousse at any stores and when I did find it (the old formula) it was way more expensive. This new one doesn't work like the other and I can't even find that one anywhere either! I've been using flawless curls for, I want to say 10 plus years maybe, and it never failed. I even had curls the next all I had to do was wet my hands and style. Companies always changing something good or discontinuing products people love. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. I’ve tried so many different gels, mousses, creams, oils, to enhance my poor little damaged waves and I always come back to this. My hair started getting wavier in my teens but I just didn’t take care of my hair very much so my little waves were not flourishing as they could’ve. This product definitely helped enhance them while nourishing them to lock in my conditioner. My hair is slowly graduating from very damaged 2a to relatively damaged 2b hair! I love this product. It locks in your conditioner and adds that moisture you need while sealing up your waves. I like to put a little conditioner on my hair while it’s still really wet from the shower, then comb through my hair with a brush (if I use my fingers like I’m supposed to then the top of my hair at the roots gets really wonky so I have to use a wider wet brush to get some of it normal) then I put this stuff in and I scrunch it up and put it in my little hair towel and I’m done! I have fine, low-density 2C-3A curls and generally follow CGM, but I wanted to try a new mousse because it's still not spring and I'm super bored! I wish I'd looked at the ingredients more closely before buying this mousse, though, because it contains propane, which honestly just freaks me out. I still tried it because I spent money on it, but I wasn't super impressed. The mousse is ***VERY*** thick, so I mixed very small amounts with water before scrunching it into my hair. After diffusing and scrunching out the crunch, my curls were actually very well-defined and had good volume, but even though I used VERY little – an amount that was maybe the size of a plum for my entire head of hair (falls between jawline and shoulder) – my roots felt extremely gummy and gross. I know it's the mousse because the only other product I used was the ultra-light leave-in I've been using for years. I can't imagine being able to use much less product, though, just because of how the mousse comes out of the can. So overall, it does define curls, it may leave a gummy residue (my hair may really be just too fine), and it contains scary ingredients. The scent is also pleasant, but very strong and appears to last (I did my hair hours ago and I still smell like coconut). I bought thus product to use to style my lace wig. It helped style my wig perfectly upon install. By day 3 of using the foaming lotion to style my baby hair i had some irritation in my forehead but it wasn’t too bad. I took a break for a few days from using it or styling my wig & when I used it again it started to severely burn my forehead. I wiped the product off & did continued use. I took my wig off 2 days later and had a chemical burn across my entire forehead. It burned so bad & took a while to clear up. My skin is far from sensitive so I know that wasn’t the issue. This is now a staple in my hair styling routine. I have been spraying this on my hair every day before I walk out the door. It is a very lightweight hairspray and the hold is perfect for my needs. What I most love about this product is that it keeps my hair safe from frizz throughout the day. I have found that if I spray too much it sometimes leaves a slight white residue on my hair but this doesn’t happen very often and it’s not very noticeable. While a bit annoying, the benefits outweigh the cons for me, as long as I don’t go overboard on any particular section my hair stays almost completely frizz free throughout the day, regardless of humidity!araceli.r
I received this sample from Influenster for my honest review. To begin, my hair is type 1 and slightly on the dry side. It thin to medium, unprocessed and is fairly silky. For me, this worked okay, not great (although I’m not one to style my hair often). It has a decent hold and decent humidity resistance. The crunch is expected for a firm hold so I did not mind it as long as it held my hair in place. For an average day, it held my hair for a few hours (not all day). The smell is good, but I have a sensitive nose so the smell does linger on for quite a bit which I don’t particularly enjoy. One concern I do have is that I noticed a bit of a white residue on my hair with this. I should mention, however, that my sister tried it and said she liked it and that it held her hair well. I received this complementary in exchange for my review thanks to Influenster and Biolage! I will start by saying that I deducted a star because it says this is a humidity-resistant hairspray and I was super excited about that element of this product but I didn't notice any humidity protection. Now onto the things I like about this hairspray… this hairspray REALLY dries fast, like almost instantly and I like that a lot. This hairspray also holds my hairstyle extremely well and for the whole day. The thing I love most about this hairspray is that it provides so much volume to my hair! I just did like the bottle said and lifted my hair and sprayed close to my roots. I've used a couple of different volumizing hair sprays but this one provided the best results, it just didn't last because the humidity flattened my hair and curls. If you don't like scents, you may not like this. It has a hairspray smell mixed with a slight floral type of smell. I like it, it smells better than other hairsprays to me. I found it pretty hard to wash this hairspray out of my hair, which is a good thing because it probably holds up well in the rain. Even though I deducted a star I'd still recommend this because it's a great hairspray, I love the volume it added to my hair!

When I am going to use a mousse, I always have some expectation of a certain “feeling” in terms of the texture of my hair. The reviews that state that it is difficult to run your fingers through are true… it is… but it feels more like strong hold hair spray. In areas I put too much, it is stiffer but if I did it lightly and directly on my roots, it does not feel that way. I have fine hair for reference. Now the important part and the reason I purchased the product…volume. I have SO MUCH volume. Even when I flatten my hair and then try to “fluff” it up again, it’s so voluminous.

I'm really tired of mousse that are too strong or sticky. This mousse is GREAT and no sticky feel. It really does a great job giving my hair lift. I have layered, color treated shoulder length hair. Sometimes I style it straight, sometimes in a natural wave. This works well either way. And did I say, no sticky feel??!Mature and still wearing makeup!
I bought this mousse looking for a little more lift with my blowouts and unfortunately I ended up returning it. I added some volume and thickness to my hair for sure but I hated how it made my hair feel! So weighed down and almost like I couldnt get a brush through it! Incredible. I’m a guy with very fine 2C/3A curls/waves and this works so well to give me some volume and keep my hair nourished all day. I usually pat my hair dry with a towel, do some skincare, and then run wet hands through my hair to re-wet it before I put this stuff in. I find that helps it dry faster but keeps enough moisture for it to fully activate. Always make sure to shake this before you use it! I see lots of reviews where people say you can’t use the last 1/4 of the bottle, because if you don’t shake it, the mousse comes out super thick and creamy, meaning you’re using too much concentrated product and it’s not mixed with the propellant well enough. Read the directions for sure. When I break the cast, my hair is so defined and soft. No crunch or stickiness, however less is more with this. First of all, I haven't used mousse for my curls in forever! LOL But gave this my best shot. I have 2C/3A hair. My hair tends to get very frizzy as it's thick and coarse. It needs a good strong styler to give it the control it needs. But I don't like my hair crunchy or to be too waxy. SO when I used this layered with Bumble and Bumble leave in conditioner, primer and then the mousse, it left my hair very pretty frizzy, probably more so than with the creme. I was not feeling confident about my hair. BUT when I used this the same way as above and then put the gel-oil on top of that as sort of a sealer to any frizz I saw before I blowdried my hair, my hair was AWESOME. Soft, supple curls.
