I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. The hold is not there and my hair is low porosity type 2b hair and i did not find it reducing frizz either. I section my hair and evenly distribute the Smoothie, then I use this Mousse to focus on my ends. Finally blowdry with a diffuser attachment. I transitioned to my naturally curly hair over a year ago, and after trying lots of gels and heavier hair products, I decided to switch to a mousse. How I use it: After washing and conditioning my hair, and applying a lightweight leave-in conditioner or cream, I use this mousse. With 3b curls that are dry, coarse, long, tangly and graying…I've been struggling lately. I want so badly to keep my hair long and grow it longer than I've ever had the patience to. I purchased this Ouidad VitalCurl mousse today (last one on the shelf!), because I was desperately trying to just get my hair to look good. I got home with my new product and hit the shower right away. After washing/conditioning I put a bit of my previously purchased Ouidad VitalCurl Tress Effects Gel in my palm and added a a nice dollop of this mousse on top and mixed it together until no foam remained and I was left with a wonderfully slippery gel-consistency. I repeated the process once more to make sure I coated everything. I used an Olivia Garden brush to distribute the product and let it dry naturally. It didn't take as long to fully dry as when I use my gel with other hair creams and my hair had a cast that was so perfect it still looked wet when it was fully dry. I was so happy with the results that I feel like I can let this unruly mom keep on growing. At least my ponytail would look good and not a frizzy mess like it usually does. This is THE one product from Ouidad that I feel I can't do without. Granted, I haven't used it by itself but when a curly girl finds her perfect recipe, it's a challenge to stray from it for fear of ruining the outcome. As a side note, I have used the gel mentioned above by itself and I loved the curl formation, however, it's a very foamy gel once I start applying it and it makes a squooshing noise and turns white. I have used Garnier Fructise Curl Construct Mousse for quite a few years now and it's one of my favorite mousse's. I can always count on it to leave my hair shiny, soft, have light bouncy curls/waves. I like to scrunch my hair a lot this stuff is perfect for that. Since my hair isn't naturally curly I have had a lot of other brands fail to help achieve a tight wavy look. So this particular can in Extra strong hold definitely helps me to create this specific look, and it does very well! I usually use my hair dryer with the round diffuser attached to the end, and before I take it to my hair I get a handful of this mousse and start to scrunch the ends of my hair up to between the mid length my roots. And I always end up with perfect wavy/curly hair that feels light, soft, smells pretty good too! It also helps keep the frizz down has an all day hold that I cant find in any other brand of mousse that I've tried. I highly recommend this mousse, it's amazing!alisha.s
I am writing this review for BOTH the products I received from influenster in exchange for my honest review….so the reviews will be similar because thats the way ive used them, combined together. 🙂 My natural curls are un-ruley, course, and have a mind of their own but I was super impressed with this "curl shape" gel COMBINED with the "curl costruct" moouse as they held my curls and they were defined but soft and usually if it's a softer product my curls don't hold as well but they did with this combination. I will definitely be trying some of the other Garnier Fructis curl products. If your a curly girl I ABSOLUTELY recommend you try these products because they really do work and the price is un-beatable! I spend so much money on products for my hair and who knew that if I just try a few products that actually work for my hair type because Garnier Fructis YOU GOT IT RIGHT!! And I can't say that for most brands that aren't the high end salon brands! The smell is nice, it's not strong at all and has a nice light smell. I received this product in a complimentary VoxBox Influenster sent me and I was truly excited. And then very quickly disappointed. I know what mousse does and how it feels so in comparison to many other mousses I had tried this product is great. Just not for what I was trying to achieve which is soft voluminous curls. I would only be able to use this product liberally because if not it gets sticky, stiff and creates that “wet” look. It’s great if you want a slick back ponytail or for baby hairs or even just a strong hold but not for soft fluffy hair like mine. My hair wouldn’t curl in the areas that had too much product. I was hesitant to buy because my fine thin hair doesnt do well with any styling product all over. I was hoping to use it to let me slightly wavy hair dry naturally and maybe they won't be frizzy. But it is too heavy for that. My hair was soft to touch but no longer silky, so not great for leaving your hair natural. However, since it plumps your hair and still leaves it soft, its best for when you are going to use a curling iron or waver on it, or do an updo that you want in stay in place and not be crunchy. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. I wanted firm hold and that’s what I got. Actually, I thought I wanted firm hold. It’s too firm for me. I’ll finish the can, as it was a little on the high end for me. I use tiny amounts until I have my head covered. Other reviewers mentioned that a little goes a long way. They’re right. My favorite thing is the day after wash and style. My hair looks fantastic! My hair is very dry and somewhat thick. It can get frizzy very easy depending on products, weather etc. I try and use more natural things with not as many chemicals. This for my hair is good but I feel it kind of weighs it down just a bit and creates a little build up right after use. I do use quite a bit of a good moisturizing leave-in conditioner. Have to because of the dryness. So, maybe with the extra I do , is why I feel this tends to be heavier and more weighted? I have long, fine hair with below-average thickness (not thin, but definitely not thick). I have been getting American Waves (a chemical process similar to a perm) for six months, which gives me a 2A/2B very loose waves. (My natural texture is "bendy", a mix of type 1 and 2A.) This is one of many products I have tried for air-dry styling*. I have used medium-hold gels, salt sprays, mousses, and air-dry creams. This is my favorite product so far for Day 1 results, but doesn't perform as well on Day 2+. What I like: – Like other Moroccanoil products, the smell is amazing and not too strong. – Very rich thick foam (definitely feels like a luxe product) – Gives nice definition and volume on Day 1 – Lightly moisturizing and doesn't weigh my hair down – Not sticky at all What I don't like: – It's pricey – On Day 2+, my hair looked "mussed". I still had good definition, but my whole head had more of a frizzy/fuzzy "halo" that I get with my favorite products (or no products). That said, I am still inexperienced with wavy styling, so that might be due to my (lack of) refresh technique. I am going to experiment with that, and see if I get better results. * I have found that my wash technique has a bigger impact on my results than the styling product I use. I wash with Kenra volumizing shampoo and scrunch in their conditioner, wet plopping in a shower cap before rinsing. Then I dry-plop in a microfiber towel after scrunching in a styling product (or not). After air drying, I zhuzh the roots for volume. While trying to transition to curly my stilylist recommended this product. At first it was good. I had a decent amount of volume, curl definition and shine. Then I started noticing my hair as a limp noodle constantly. My hair was also becoming more straw like. Tressame 4 has been my hairspray for years. Unscented, good hold without being sticky or wet. But the last can I bought with the "new look" was a totally different hairspray. I bought unscented as always but the smell is horrible, strong and overbearing. It is a wet spray as well. My fine hair goes limp with this "new look". I am returning that can to Walmart. I went to Kroger and bought 3 cans with the old look. How my curls will turn out day to day is a little like playing hair roulette. I have tried hundreds of products but ultimately my curls have a mind of their own. I knew something happened when I couldn't find this mousse at any stores and when I did find it (the old formula) it was way more expensive. I have LOVED using the green cap formula (apparently it has changed now for no good reason). I ALWAYS had trouble finding it in stock at most places. With how popular it is/was, I'm not sure why Sauve had supply issues with this mousse and also deciding to change the formula. I've emailed their customer service asking these questions. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. I bought the spray and the mousse , so i could compare both products. I wasn't that impressed with the mousse. I do have fine hair , so maybe on thicker hair it might be better, but for me It left my hair sticky and when it was styled it was very hard and dry. It's a no for me! 🙁Margaret
The bottles of hair mousse were delivered fairly quickly and were really well packaged. For many years I have used this mousse but for sometime now my old supplier had not had it in stock so I was so pleased to be able to find it on Lookfantastic and at a cheaper price. I’ve tried so many different gels, mousses, creams, oils, to enhance my poor little damaged waves and I always come back to this. My hair started getting wavier in my teens but I just didn’t take care of my hair very much so my little waves were not flourishing as they could’ve. This product definitely helped enhance them while nourishing them to lock in my conditioner. My hair is slowly graduating from very damaged 2a to relatively damaged 2b hair! I love this product. It locks in your conditioner and adds that moisture you need while sealing up your waves. I like to put a little conditioner on my hair while it’s still really wet from the shower, then comb through my hair with a brush (if I use my fingers like I’m supposed to then the top of my hair at the roots gets really wonky so I have to use a wider wet brush to get some of it normal) then I put this stuff in and I scrunch it up and put it in my little hair towel and I’m done! It works it’s magic, I take off the towel and go to bed!Alli
I absolutely love this mousse for my curly hair. It is part of my hair routine after I wash my hair. I am on my second bottle or can? Whichever you would like to call it. I will continue to use this as long as OGX continues to supply it. I do really like the way it keeps my curls nice and bouncy. I have fine, low-density 2C-3A curls and generally follow CGM, but I wanted to try a new mousse because it's still not spring and I'm super bored! I wish I'd looked at the ingredients more closely before buying this mousse, though, because it contains propane, which honestly just freaks me out. I still tried it because I spent money on it, but I wasn't super impressed. The mousse is ***VERY*** thick, so I mixed very small amounts with water before scrunching it into my hair. After diffusing and scrunching out the crunch, my curls were actually very well-defined and had good volume, but even though I used VERY little – an amount that was maybe the size of a plum for my entire head of hair (falls between jawline and shoulder) – my roots felt extremely gummy and gross. I know it's the mousse because the only other product I used was the ultra-light leave-in I've been using for years. I can't imagine being able to use much less product, though, just because of how the mousse comes out of the can. So overall, it does define curls, it may leave a gummy residue (my hair may really be just too fine), and it contains scary ingredients. The scent is also pleasant, but very strong and appears to last (I did my hair hours ago and I still smell like coconut). I wouldn't buy this again, but I'll probably save this as a back-up product in case I run out of my holy grails – and stay far away from open flames, yikes.CB

I love this volumizer! The “pump spray button” somewhat broke which was frustrating at first but ended up working in my favor. Now I put a little bit on my hands and rub into my roots making it feel much lighter but still volumized. And you can tell a difference with my fine hair. It’s great! This is now a staple in my hair styling routine. I have been spraying this on my hair every day before I walk out the door. It is a very lightweight hairspray and the hold is perfect for my needs. What I most love about this product is that it keeps my hair safe from frizz throughout the day. I have found that if I spray too much it sometimes leaves a slight white residue on my hair but this doesn’t happen very often and it’s not very noticeable. While a bit annoying, the benefits outweigh the cons for me, as long as I don’t go overboard on any particular section my hair stays almost completely frizz free throughout the day, regardless of humidity!araceli.r
I received this sample from Influenster for my honest review. To begin, my hair is type 1 and slightly on the dry side. It thin to medium, unprocessed and is fairly silky. For me, this worked okay, not great (although I’m not one to style my hair often). It has a decent hold and decent humidity resistance. The crunch is expected for a firm hold so I did not mind it as long as it held my hair in place. For an average day, it held my hair for a few hours (not all day). The smell is good, but I have a sensitive nose so the smell does linger on for quite a bit which I don’t particularly enjoy. One concern I do have is that I noticed a bit of a white residue on my hair with this. I should mention, however, that my sister tried it and said she liked it and that it held her hair well. Her hair is denser and thicker than mine and closer to type 2A.padmaja.j
I received this complementary in exchange for my review thanks to Influenster and Biolage! I will start by saying that I deducted a star because it says this is a humidity-resistant hairspray and I was super excited about that element of this product but I didn't notice any humidity protection. Now onto the things I like about this hairspray… this hairspray REALLY dries fast, like almost instantly and I like that a lot. This hairspray also holds my hairstyle extremely well and for the whole day. The thing I love most about this hairspray is that it provides so much volume to my hair! I just did like the bottle said and lifted my hair and sprayed close to my roots. I've used a couple of different volumizing hair sprays but this one provided the best results, it just didn't last because the humidity flattened my hair and curls. If you don't like scents, you may not like this. It has a hairspray smell mixed with a slight floral type of smell. I like it, it smells better than other hairsprays to me. I found it pretty hard to wash this hairspray out of my hair, which is a good thing because it probably holds up well in the rain. Even though I deducted a star I'd still recommend this because it's a great hairspray, I love the volume it added to my hair!

This is a great foam for wet wraps. I have relaxed hair and I’m a bit of a novice doing my hair on my own. I purchased this to wet wrap and dry under a hood dryer. I bought thus product to use to style my lace wig. It helped style my wig perfectly upon install. By day 3 of using the foaming lotion to style my baby hair i had some irritation in my forehead but it wasn’t too bad. I took a break for a few days from using it or styling my wig & when I used it again it started to severely burn my forehead. I wiped the product off & did continued use. I took my wig off 2 days later and had a chemical burn across my entire forehead. It burned so bad & took a while to clear up. My skin is far from sensitive so I know that wasn’t the issue.
