I followed the instructions which are easy to understand, the only complaint is the water never turned blue as the packaging states. I never had one day not to mention the packaging states "Blue Water for up to 16 weeks". I still cleaned the inside of the toilet as it too did not do as the packaging stated. Live and learn. I won't be buying this product again or recommending it to anyone I know. I hope others have better luck than I did with using it. I don't know how you can sell a product that you say cleans limescale. It makes the limescale 10 times worse because of all that green dye that you put in it. I've been cleaning houses for 40 years this is probably one of the worst products I've ever used. Now I can't get the blue /green rings out. I don't know why these companies have to use so much dye. Scrubbing Bubbles products are wonderful. I use this for the bleach factor. The ease of use is basically the same as any other competitor. It doesn't have all of the crazy scents as other brands. However, in about 2.2 seconds after you leave the bathroom, that smell is gone anyway. So let's think about this. The chemical smell added of "Ocean Breeze" cleaning in a toilet opposed to knowing the normal smell of bleach is disinfecting is more reassuring. When has an "Ocean Breeze" been known as a cleaner? I was very impressed with this product. We have hard water which quickly causes rough patches to build up inside the toilet bowl. This stuff really is thick enough to coat the inside of the bowl, and after letting it sit a few minutes, all of the scale was gone. No scrubbing was needed– but I did brush the bowl and under the rim anyway. After flushing, the inside of the bowl as as smooth and shiny as a brand new toilet would be. The only other product I've found that helped get rid of the build up still required some scrubbing, and the strong wintergreen fragrance turned my stomach. I can't say I totally hate this product BUT it just didn't last long enough for me, which makes me wonder if it distributes unevenly after insertion?! You also have to have a certain shape toilet and a certain level of water to make it work properly. Luckily mine was fine but I can see this being an issue. I felt like the scent was fresh, while making the bowl appear cleaner between washings. Perhaps this is due to the blue coloring?! These are the only cling bowl cleaners that have a scent that doesn't bother me. I've tried those Scrubbing Bubbles clings/stamps and just something about the scent they use to cover up the cleanser's scent really turns me off. So, if you have a sensitive nose, I'd give this a shot. I got these on a whim to the store. The scent is just a fresh scent. Sort of like a general, clean, ocean smell. To use, you break the tab an slide onto the side of toilet where the water is at the highest level. My water level in my toilet never quite reaches it until its flushed, but the smell does radiate through the bathroom for a fresher scent and deodorizer which is nice. They do last for several weeks. I would say about two months. The only downside is that they do drip some color on the side of the toilet bowl, which is no big deal. It doesnt stain and can easily be wiped off with a toilet brush. Perhaps it is because I have "soft water" that these only last 3 to 5 days. It turns very blue and concentrated for like 5 flushes then dwindles away after 3 days or so. I have also seen pieces breaking off causing blue spotting in the bowl and once even gumming up the floater in the tank making the water stop… even the other scrubbing bubbles brand lasts much longer, although it too has declined in recent years. The old school kind that came in the glass jars was the best but it's been discontinued for years. I bought a bottle and followed these steps. 1. I emptied the water out of the toilet bowl. 2. I poured in an entire bottle of Zep. 3. I left it overnight. 4. I tried all the usual toilet bowl cleaners, including white vinegar and baking soda, which I use on other tough stains, and nothing worked. I was at the point of replacing the toilet when I discovered Zep online. I didn't even drain the toilet bowl, but simply applied Zep under the rim of the bowl and let it flow down into the bowl. Thoughtful, but horribly designed product. It smells great, but the heart shaped scent tablet falls off of the plastic hook after only a few days, and that has happened a few times. I imagine the sewer system near our house smells fantastic. Also this last time, the water of the flush took the whole thing, hook and all down the drain. I couldn't believe my eyes honestly. I have well water and get horrible orange stains all over with every shower we take. I usually spray like scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner and then have to scrub away the stains for 45 minutes with a little brillo steel pad and that was so painful to do every week. So I thought I'd give this a try couldn't be worse than my current situation. I sprayed this on and did a double take cause I thought my eyes weren't seeing clear, I'm serious! The orange stains were literally running down and away with the spray on immediate contact! Within 5 minutes I sprayed and just rinsed with the shower head and I WAS DONE! My tub looks like new it's astonishing. This thing really keeps the toilet bowl smelling fresh. We have a bathroom in the basement that doesn't get used much. Over time the toilet bowl would develop an odor from not being used and getting stale. NOT any longer. The water is passed through a container with bleach or chlorine tablets, and the toilet stays fresh smelling. Every time it is flushed, the tank and bowl are essentially rinsed with bleach.
