I don't recommend purchasing anything form Cliganic as the information they provide is questionable. Before ordering this product I contacted Cliganic to make sure I was getting the rosa canina species of rose hip seed oil. Having read several research papers on the effects of oils from different rose species, I knew well that the rosa canina variety from eastern Europe was by far the best for skin care. I further carefully viewed the labelling on the product as posted on both Cliganic's website and iHerb's website before placing my order. Everything indicated that the rosehip oil was extracted from the rosa canina plant. I placed my order and when I received it, the labelling noted that the oil is of the rosa moschata plant. I initially purchased many of The Honest Co. skin care products to try out, in order to identify which ones worked best for me, then incorporate those into my skin care regimen. This quickly made its way to the list of products I use daily. I first used it on some days as an alternative to moisturizer, but found that this works best in tandem with the Hydrogel moisturizer. Hydrogel is a great moisturizer which you really feel delivering moisture to your skin; I now use it nightly to allow it to give my skin "a long, hydrating drink" throughout the night (it has time release properties), then the next day, instead of a moisturizer, I'll use a couple of drops of the Organic Beauty Facial Oil (It's an absolute wonder that only 2 drops of this product effectively delivers all day moisturizing!) because my skin still remains fully hydrated from the overnight moisturizing from the Hydrogel, and the oil holds the moisture intact. Another benefit of using the oil in daytime is that it allows primers (I alternately use Everything Primer, Matte and Everything Primer, Glow + 2HA) to be applied quicker, more smoothly, and evenly. If you wear make up, I think this benefit would also apply for that application. I feel that Hydrogel provides more of a deep moisturizing and the Organic Beauty Facial Oil is more topical (but absorbs quickly and doesn't create unwanted shine and greasiness associated with oils), so using one after the other works wonderfully.A. I didn't have any adverse reactions despite having relatively sensitive skin. However, I have used other facial oils in the last few years and this one was by far the worst in terms of results. I didn't find it all that moisturizing and the next day my skin was just "blah". There are other oils out there that I've purchased (like Faerie Organic's oil blends or just plain Argan or Rosehip oil) where I woke up in the morning feeling like I had brand new skin that was brighter and perfectly soft. With this, I didn't experience any of that. To top it off, if you read the ingredient list, it's basically a bottle of essential oils for fragrance so all you're paying for is fragrance that will, overtime, damage your skin. Save yourself some time and money and just buy yourself a nice bottle of legitimate argan or rosehip oil. You can find good quality of that for less money per ounce and you'll have way better results than this.Jen
I’ve been having some light acne for a year that wouldn’t clear up and got this product. I just wanted a regular face oil in general. I put this on the first time last night and woke up with my acne almost completely gone?? And my face is SO SOFT and not the kind of soft where you’re covered in oil in moisturizer. No my skin is dry right now and feels so silky. I’m 20 and I feel like I have the skin quality of my 10 year old self again. And when you put it on it smells heavenly. Like wow it smells like a spiritual essential oil I might use it as a perfume on my wrists or something.

I have read so many great reviews on this product that I purchased right away. Once I found out I was pregnant I knew I had to find a product to moisture my belly. I love how lightweight this oil is. It doesn’t feel sticky at all so I can sleep well at night without the sticky discomfort. It literally feels like you have nothing on. It’s not expensive at all. I purchased the small bottle because I wanted to try It out and see how I like It and check for any irritation and so far so good. I will be repurchasing the larger bottle before I run out of this one. I applied a few drops on my belly and you do need to apply a good amount to really moisturize. I have been hearing about this bio oil for what seems like forever now and I finally decided to give it a try and oh my goodness, when I say it WORKS, I means it REALLY REALLY works. If you have any sort of skin pigmentation issues whether it be a scar from a previous trauma, acne scars, mosquito bite scars, etc or any sort of red splotches on your face, you need to try this bio oil out! My skin is super sensitive in the sense that everything clogs my pores and makes me break out, so I was really worried about this bio oil, mainly because I try to stay away from oil products altogether due to how easy it is to clog my pores, however, this oil has refreshed, lightened and whitened my face and has left me with a beautiful dewy glow to my face. If you’re on the fence about this, let this be your sign to BUY IT. Also, it actually has a really pleasant smell to me. It’s not overpowering, just a light lingering. Another also, I didn’t see anyone explain their process for using this while I was reading reviews so I hope this helps at least 1 person out there, the way I used this was : rinse face with just water then put on a skin mask or deep cleanser and exfoliate, apply any acne creams now and wait for them to absorb a little, then take the bio oil and put maybe 4-8 drops on your palm and rub your hands together and then just gently press your hands into your face. This is such a great for pregnancy to prevent stretch marks and also to prevent other scarring from a acne or a simple scratch. As for acne, mineral oil is non comedogenic, so no it will NOT clog your pores. There's a ton of bad hype and misinformation on mineral oil out there…. most of which are not true!That being said, there are no studies evaluating the effectiveness of it in treating acne. There is no reason to think it would affect acne in a positive or negative way. It may help soothe dry irritated skin…. everyone's skin reacts differently.My only complaint is it dose have essential oils, which are known to cause skin irritation, more specifically those with skin conditions like sensitivity from having rosacea and current inflammation irritation from severe acne, sunburn, windburn, etc. These essential oils are most likely reason why some people are having a reaction. It's not necessarily the mineral oil but another ingredient in the product…. like the essential oils that are triggering a reaction like acne. When it comes down to it. I prefer jojoba oil as it's a multipurpose product when applying to the face. However, mineral oil is not going to clog your pores and it is safe to use. The ingredients are wonderful. My skin and hair love organic jojoba oil. I gave it only 4 stars as the dropper is kind of messy and I would prefer a drop at a time like with bottles of essential oils. I am dripping the contents and must be very careful not to get too much at one time. I guess it will get better when the contents shrink down after time. I really do like the oil and wish it had a different dispensing apparatus. I had my suspicions of "magic skin oils," but this stuff really is magic. I was reccomended this oil by a friend when I had gotten new stretch marks on my breasts from the pill. I also had old white stretch marks on my thighs and butt. I saw results after just one day for my new scars! The marks on my breasts faded within a few days and it softened the look of the ones on my thighs! It by no means fully erases stretch marks, but rather fades them quite a bit. I am very fair skinned, 20 years old, and I have combination skin on my face but dry skin on my body. I have acne prone skin on my face so I wouldn't dare use this for my facial acne scars, but for my body it's amazing for stretch marks!! I love love love this product! I used this oil through 2 pregnancies, alternating with Palmer's Cocoa butter daily and I did not get one stretch mark (gained 22lbs on my first pregnancy and 20lbs on my second) and it also helped to reduce the ones I already had. It has a great smell to it! You don't need to use a lot because it's oil, which becomes a plus as this is a pricey (but totally worth it) product. I had two emergency c-sections so I used for a little while on my scar and noticed a decent difference to the color of my scar. I've seen some people using a few drops on their fingers and add to their hair (dry ends) and see good results with it. I did for a little bit but my hair is naturally oily so I had to stop. Had a c-section on October 11th, bought this product on October 20th and started using it that same day. I apply it 3 times a day and I allow it to soak in for about an hour. In the 6 days I've been using this I can see a huge difference in my incision! All the scabbing and redness has disappeared and now it's just a dark pink color (I can't really explain lol) but I was SUPER surprised with this product and somewhat skeptical. This product is VERY moisturizing as well which definitely helps when you're trying to fade scars. I'm not sure how long you're supposed to wait before you start using a scar creams on a c-section scar but I started as soon as I could. I have always ben a fan of Now Foods oils . For some reason the formulation and oils themselves to me are high quality. I've tried various Almond Oils but always find myself coming back to this one. What I love the most (I bought the 473ML) is that you get excellent value for your money and the oils can be used on hair and body. I also use this oil as a makeup remover when I have make-up on. Love the way the make-up melts away. Also on my body… this oil has made my legs babysoft! This oil has a slight scent. Almost like olive oil. For an oil, it has a thinner consistency which helps it soak into the skin quicker. I've been using this for about a month and haven't noticed any irritation. It does seem to help with my eczema (dry spots), but I also moisturize with a body moisturizer everyday as well. Works great as a body moisturizer, but I would stay away from the face. At least for me, it was a bit heavy for my face and caused some blemishes (which I don't get very often). I actually meant to buy another product and got confused as the two are so similar. While this product wasn't what I had originally wanted, I have to say I'm not disappointed. It definately hydrates my skin, and provides a nice glow, and though it is a bit oily it still sits well under make up. I have hormonal acne that flares up around my chin and nose if I eat something my body is sensitive to, like dairy or some grains. I've tried every cleanser, spot cream, mask, etc. and none seem to have had the same impact as this oil. I saw results very early on after using this consistently, morning and night on clean skin. It's not only reducing my flareups, it seems to be erasing some of my very long-term acne scars that I no longer have to cover up with concealer. I wanted this system to work SO badly for me. I really truly did. So much so that I spent about a grand trying these products out for over a year. I thought maybe if I splurge for some expensive products with premium natural ingredients, my skin might just clear up. So I started with the cleanser, oil, repair serum, and toner. I even added the vitamin C powder and chebula when it came out, hoping it would make a dent in my acne and dark spots. I've struggled with acne for over 20 years and it's extremely stubborn, so I shouldn't have expected any miracles, but I still got my hopes up. I honestly didn't see much change after a year of using this stuff. I did supplement with AHA/BHA and oil cleanser to remove makeup. Having said that, I can tell the formulation is very very high quality and wish I could justify the price. If it worked I would gladly pay the money. I think if your problem is just dry skin and fine lines, TB is probably really really great for that. But for acne sufferers with stubborn acne, I don't know if this is it.
I really wanted to like this product! I love the idea of True Botanicals being non-toxic and good for the environment. Olivia Wilde and I seem to have similar skin types, so I switched over from my Skinsceuticals regime to their Clear system. I was excited by the before and after photos and the effect this could have on my post-acne dark spots. I used to have serious acne, but then I did accurate and for the past two years, I’ve had clear skin, with post-acne marks. After the first week of trying the system, my skin started breaking out and I figured this was the 4-6 week purging/adjustment period. Now, it’s been 6 weeks and it’s still breaking out. Since I t’s past their return period, I’m stuck with an almost $200 collection of products that simply don’t work on my skin. I’ll spend the holidays under a thick layer of makeup hoping I don’t have to go on accutane again. It was very drying and makes my face for prone to becoming dry through the day. It also irritated my skin, might be because I have some acne. I have 2b, high porosity, medium density, fine hair (information helpful to my fellow curly girls!). I've used Crisan in three different ways. First, I applied it to all my hair as a moisture treatment. My hair is naturally light brown/gray and I have heavy blonde highlights, so it gets dry. I left Crisan in overnight, then washed, conditioned and dried as usual. Crisan left my hair incredibly soft. My hair also likes protein, so I don't need to use a moisture treatment more than once or twice a month, but I will definitely use Crisan again when I need it. Second, I've used Crisan to "scrunch out the crunch" after drying my hair. I use one drop to break the cast on my curls after my hair is completely dry. It leaves my hair soft and helps with fly-aways. My favorite way to use Crisan has been as a scalp treatment. I apply it to my scalp before washing, massage my scalp for about two minutes, then leave Crisan in my hair for 10-60 minutes. My scalp LOVES this product. I've developed a slightly irritated, itchy scalp over the past year or so, but it feels almost normal again after using Crisan every time before I wash for the past couple weeks. I can’t get past the essential oil smells, so I haven’t worn it much. In the beginning, I wore it AM and PM as my moisturizer step. I now use it on my legs, arms, torso, and my skin is lovely. It’s a very rich oil combination that broke me out on my face before I adjusted my application: sprayed with either Averr Aglow Dew or any hydrosol, then applied 1-2 drops on my palms, spread on my palms then pressed into my skin. I do this for the slip and to evenly distribute the product. I have mature, combination oily skin and am able to use it on my face at night. No problem with hypersensitivity issues. This Tamanu oil is top quality and the real deal. It really does live up to its name as an overnight miracle oil. It has helped my acne and eczema significantly in addition to a no sugar and very limited flour diet . I prefer this oil and this brand of it to any other oils for skin care. After being bitten by fire ants the next day I applied this to some of them. By the next day these were just small red dots while the others that were not treated very large red spots with the typical white pustule center. I then treated these but it was too late. I've been using the Alpha Arbutin, the Niacinamide and the Marula Oil (applied in that order) each night for the last 2 weeks. I can honestly say I've noticed a huge difference in my skin already. The overall tone and texture has improved and I even had a few blotches of sun spots that are beginning to fade. My poors look smaller and my skin seems less oily but still super hydrated. I was nervous to try these at first because I have been using the same skin care routine for the last 15 years and my skin has a lot of sensitivity. I actually received this as a birthday gift and am so glad I got it! I've been plagued with eczema/dermatitis on my face and neck and this has really helped with calming my irritated, dry cracked skin. I've been prescribed hydrocortisone, Elidel and other rx's, but this works so much better and without any funky side effects! It has a nice blend of skin loving oils that are great for the skin barrier-especially sensitive skin. It can be a bit greasy if you use a lot- which under "normal" circumstances you don't need to-but for MY skin at the moment, it's fine. It is pricey which is why I knocked off 1 star, but if you can afford to splurge, I'd recommend this!
I really love how this oil calms my skin, and my favorite way to use it is after doing a chemical peel because using it after deep exfoliation really lets the ingredients sink in and work their magic! I have dry skin with a little acne from time to time and this really helps keep my skin hydrated. I use it at night, once or twice a week after exfoliation and my 47 year old skin is glowing and young looking. The only thing I don't love is that it takes a long time to sink in. I've read so many reviews where people use it before makeup and I can't imagine doing that! For me, it gradually sinks in overnight for beautiful results in the morning. I would also add that I only use it when I'm going to wash my hair in the morning as it makes my hair greasy if it touches my face. I wouldn't balk at the price as it literally takes 2 drops to fully cover my face and neck, and I almost worry about it turning rancid before I can use it up, although I don't know if that's a thing with this oil.Dana Doozer

This oil is just beautiful. I use it in conjunction with the marine cream, either first on dry skin then the cream on top or on top of the cream once it has sunk in & they work really well together. I use it on top of the cream if I want more of a glow for day time but I believe on dry skin you’ll get the most benefit as your skin really drinks it in. The smell is so nice, think fresh cucumbers. As there is fragrance, if you’re sensitive I suppose there is potential for irritation but I have fairly sensitive skin and none of the Elemis products irritate me at all, I believe because it’s all natural. If you have extra sensitive skin it may be worth doing a patch test on any of their products. A little goes a long way with this oil, it leaves you super glowy! I do use slightly more than the recommended drops though as I like to use it down my neck and onto my chest & 3-4 isn’t quite enough for me I’d say more like 6, 3-4 is plenty for just the face though. It isn’t super oily/greasy, it’s more of a dry oil texture but this doesn’t take away from its hydration at all, I like the fact you can actually feel & see your skin drinking it, it doesn’t sit on top of the skin like a film. So if you’re looking for that sort of thing this may not be for you. It’s more an oil you have to pat in rather than use like a moisturiser in my opinion. I close my eyes and pat it on them too & it doesn’t irritate them at all. This tends to last me ages even when I use it morning and night but you can use it sparingly, maybe just once a day & you’ll still see the benefits for sure! This is great to take out with you as well if you’re out & want a quick boost of moisture or glow, I would say it’s light enough to use over makeup if you’re looking a bit cakey or dry. I use this with a jade roller & notice this really gives it a boost as it helps the skin drink it in so if you’re looking for a night time routine it’s a good add in to wake up looking refreshed & glowy. Great for winter when your skin’s a bit drier. I have acne prone skin and this does not clog up pores at all. In fact, this has helped a lot with keeping my skin clear. I expected this to be gentle because normally when I think superfood I think organic ingredients, fruit oils and antioxidants. I also expected it to be more special than it really is. Honestly its kind of just another clay mask if you ask me. Dont get me wrong I love a good clay mask. I was just looking for something that wouldnt dry me out and would plump and soften my skin. So I wasnt expecting a clay mask when I purchased this. It does work well, as a clay mask. But for the price Ive definitely tried better. Sorry elemis, Iove your products and i dont mind paying a higher price if its a product i truly love. Just didnt impress me or wow me very much. Very fragranced as well. Which is fine if you dont have sensitive skin like myself. It didnt irritate me thank god, but Im looking for a gentler mask.Anonymous
After moving to a dessert climate I was desperate to nourish my skin. My skin was completely dehydrated due to the hot outside-climate and the lack of humidity inside my house created by the air conditioning. Being familiar with Elemis I purchased this oil hoping to upgrade the skin on my face and hands. It comes in a glass bottle and has a grassy-earthy smell which I completely love. For me is a direct reminder of the oil's ingredients. However, if you're looking for a subtle scent or one that would faint fast I believe this is not for you. I didn't achieve the results I wanted neither or my face nor in my hands. Nevertheless, I understand that it was not due to a lack of performance of the oil, it was just that I didn't apply it the right way. I over-applied it and as a result the product couldn't get fully absorbed into my skin. I used the whole bottle and it improved my skin: it became a little bit brighter, less inflamed and softer. However, if I would have been patient enough and apply only what's suggested the oil would have penetrated better. I would have avoided the embarrassing "oily face look" and the nourishing effects would have been amplified. I believe that it would have been beneficial (my skin was flaky) to do an exfoliation process prior to adding the Superfood Oil to my regime. My skin would have been cleared of at the outer-dry layer and absorption would have been easier. I'm planning to buy it again and use it sparingly. I recommend it to anyone; just don't apply a lot hoping to get faster results and prepare your skin to get the most benefits.BioRodriguez

I love this ingredient because it feels so natural on the skin. This doesn't sit like a product, squalane almost feels like a natural extension of your face. Additionally, there are SO MANY uses for it. This might not be a "daily driver" but If you have the money to spend on something like this, it's a great everyday essential to have in your skincare collection similar to healing ointments or lotions. Here are some of the uses I've found for it so far: • AMAZING Beard oil. We all know the male beauty industry is… immature. Most dedicated beard products come in very small containers with a lot of fragrance, unnecessary ingredients, or worst of all potentially irritating ingredients like essential oils or vegetable oils that can really mess up your skin barrier. If you have a beard, or have a loved one with a beard, do their skin a huge favor and buy this instead. You get more product for your money, and it will get rid of itchy, flaky, or irritated skin under the beard. Simple, effective, and easy to spread. • Noncomedogenic body moisturizer! Ok, this one is great. I've been using lotions for years on the rougher patches of skin like my elbows or knees, and they only give hydration for so long. If you use something like a body oil, it tends to work at the cost of you slipping and sliding all over the place. This will give dry patches lasting hydration and moisture all day because instead of putting a bandaid on dryness you're replenishing your skin with the natural tools it uses to fight water loss. • Locks in your skincare routine. Because Squalane is an oil, it is occlusive. That means you shouldn't be using it before any active ingredients or moisturizers. It should really be the last step of your routine, but it does a great job of locking everything in and preventing water loss. Simply do your skincare routine as normal, and if you feel like you need a boost in the dry season pat this on at the very end after your sunscreen!boyskinJJ
I LOVE this oil! It never breaks me out, has only one ingredient, and is so beautifully perfectly moisturizing for me. I use it morning and night, and put my retinoid over it at night. The packing, however, is terrible. I don’t know why but over time, the pump starts leaking, and I get a gross oily puddle on my shelf. Whenever I press down, the oil comes out of the bottom of the pump, not the spout! So what I did is buy a dropper product from The Ordinary, use it up, wash out the dropper, and put my squalane in there. No mess, perfectly easy to control the quantity of product I’m getting, and travel friendly! Biossance, please spare me the effort and put this magic juice in a glass dropper bottle. Thank you!ana n.
I purchased this in the jumbo size when I was struggling to get my compromised skin barrier back under control. It didn't rectify the problem by itself but it certainly helped. I do not use it as part of my daily skincare routine however, I would not want to be without now. For me, it is too oily to leave the house with it on my face unless I've given it a couple of hours to fully sink in. I tend to use it on my face as a little pick me up if my skin is feeling a little dry during the day and I'm staying home. It makes a good body oil and what is left on my hands I make the most of and smooth it over my hair. I think it is good value (certainly the jumbo size). My only two complaints are that it is difficult to control how much product you dispense and when you only want a tiny amount for your face, well, one pump is just too much. My other complaint is that the pump nozzle dropped off, literally just dropped off when i picked it up!? The nozzle is now sitting precariously on the top but it still works.Summer73

I've used this oil for years and years. I have combination skin so I use it sparingly and only at night, mainly around the eyes where my skin is drier. It also helps healing breakouts and scars. The smell is divine. You need very little so a bottle like this usually lasts me more than a year. These days there are much cheaper alternatives out there so I don't buy it anymore but it's a lovely product nonetheless.Kris
I received the Pixi facial oil in a monthly Allure box several months ago. I’ve tried Pixi products before and do like them. This facial oil has a lovely rose aroma and the consistency is thin. This isn’t bad at all, as it dries down fairly quickly. It makes my skin feel so soft and healthy after using it. I highly recommend this product! Loooove this oil. I use it over my moisturizer at night with Tretinoin and during the day between my moisturizer and spf. It absorbs well and has a pretty light and pleasant scent (I can’t stand heavy scents in skincare). It makes my skin GLOW and acts as a strong moisture barrier in my skincare routine.
