I've only been using this product for a month so I can't comment on whether or not it's making my hair grow. I mainly bought it because I needed something heavy duty to slick down the short pieces of hair around my hair line so the fans at work would stop blowing my hair in my eyes while I was trying to work. I didn't want to use a gel so I settled on good old fashion hair grease. The jar is small, but this stuff is like vaseline and it will never run out. The smell reminds me of hair grease from the 90s, but I like it. The smell doesn't conflict with other hair care products I use. One thing that is confusing to me is that the instructions say to not use this product on wet hair. Petroleum and oils are hair sealants, not hair moisturizers, so if you don't have moisture on your hair, what is this product sealing in? For that reason I use this on wet hair. This stuff does not make my hair easier to comb. Quite the opposite. Even when I tried following the instructions and applying this to dry hair, getting a comb through my hair was a no-go. I have to spray it down with water, apply a hair lotion (Cantu Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment), apply this product, and then section my hair in thirds and try to be patient while I detangle my hair in order to pull it in a bun for work. If you use the pea size amount as instructed, this stuff will not make your hair super greasy. Once my hair is dry and the grease is fully absorbed, I feel confident to lay down on a pillow or my sofa without leaving grease stains. Also, it washes out easily even though I use an SLS free and silicone free shampoo (Raw Sugar Truly Unruly).Anony

I follow the directions on the product. Apply to my hair from root to tip, and go about my day. I did it at night just to try it, left it in for ~1 hour because I needed to shower. Before showering my hair was glistening it was coated with product. But it WOULD NOT RINSE OUT. I went to bed that night and woke up the next morning looking like a disheveled greaseball. And my hair looked the greasiest it’s ever been, and it was everything I hate about greasy hair. I was in Walmart one day looking at products to keep my hair moisturized between shampoos and an African-American beautician had apparently noticed that I was reading labels and looking confused. She asked if she could feel my hair and I allowed it. She recommended that I try the African Pride Olive Miracle Growth Oil. She asked me some questions and then recommended that I use a tiny amount about dime-sized and when I shampooed and conditioned my hair, while it was still sopping wet, to massage into my scalp and then use my regular leave-in conditioner. Very weak, I was expecting a higher concentration since it say's 100% peppermint oil. I used other 100% extracts before and I know how intense they are supposed to be. This one is already diluted from 100% oil to directly apply to hair (you wouldn't be able to walk around with the concentrate one as it truly burns your skin). I have been experiencing extremely dry hair due to chemical processing and this past winter. This has been the only product to provide my hair with moisture without weighing it down or just sitting on my hair. I applied a dime size amount to each side of my damp hair after shampooing then blow dried. Once my hair was dry. a small pea size amount is more than enough to coat my hair evenly. It doesn't have a pleasant scent, and it is very sticky, making it a bit challenging to use. I have only used this on dry hair, I assume it would be easier to use on damp hair but I tend to forget. I warm it up in my hands before carefully prayer handing it down the majority of my hair and then using my water sprayer to help more of the oil to get off my hands and on my hair. I've been struggling for almost 10 years because thanks to relaxers and certain medications, I ended up losing the majority of my hair. My hair ended up growing back, thankfully, but my scalp was ALWAYS itchy so the hair on the top of my head never grew back right. After countless dermatologist and doctors apps and several prescription shampoos, my hair was still itchy immediately after washing unless I literally didn't use conditioner or any other product. Since I couldn't stop scratching, I couldn't get my hair to grow back. I tried using some shampoos I found elsewhere, but once again, my scalp was itchy as soon as I put product in my hair. I didn't notice until just now but I've been using this product for about 2 weeks and I have NOT scratched my scalp. There's no more itch! The first week I used this product, I went a week without shampooing again before my scalp got itchy. I was finally able to just wear my hair in a bun for a few days without having to wash every morning. Hopefully my hair can grow back now that the itching is gone, but that's a story for another day. I have had issues with dry/itchy/flakey scalp for a while. I've tried other shampoos and conditioners but nothing really worked for me. This made a huge difference after the first use and after the second time using it my flakes were completely gone! I use it once a week by applying it directly to my scalp and wrapping my head in a hot towel for about 15-20 mins. I do have to shampoo twice afterwards due to the oil. It also isn't a permanent solution, I skipped a week and my itchiness and flakes did start to come back. But I love this stuff. Ordering more bottles now!
I just finished my first bottle, and bought a second, so I think it’s time I write this review. I have type 2C hair that I wash about twice a week, and this works really well for me. Keeps my dandruff under control, removes product and oil buildup without stripping my hair, and lasts me about 3 months. It’s only pitfall is that, because of how minty it is, I have to keep my eyes closed while using it Or Else. I would like to note that this mint is more of a toothpaste mint rather than an herbal-aromatherapy mint, which might be a turn off for you. Personally, I don’t mind, as all traces of the smell seem to wash down the drain. Easily the best dandruff shampoo I’ve tried since going natural.

I realized both my hair and my daughters hair. I've been natural 4 years and had 4 inches 4c coils that stretch to 10 inches. The relaxer took well (so I thought) as I followed all the instructions carefully, but day 2 and beyond I combed out hair like I was on chemo. I tried to wear jt just slicked back no products just a little castor oil no heat or nothing. A month later more served breakage. I'm waiting for 1 inch new growth and I'm chopping it off. I'm behind devastated. My daughter is aldo 4c virgin hair. she's 16 I relaxed her hair the day before mine. her's appeared to take well also. A month later she has bad breakage not as bad as mine but everywhere short pieces. Our hair is snapping off and won't stop. I pray her hair stops breaking that will be traumatic for her. As for me it is devastating but I will deal with it. btw I checked the expiration dates on the boxes and they are within a year of expiry. and it was Regular strength relaxers. I have coarse afro hair with a coil and z shape hair pattern. The super is more suited to me. Please, please. If you are not black, please don't use this relaxer. It is not for your type of hair. Even on my type, if left on too long it basically acts as hair remover. If not washed out properly your hair will break off. I've consistently used this relaxer for years and it works a treat. I have oils at home, that to be honest I have forgotten to use recently! Having visited my hairdresser recently this was used on my hair for the first time. I have thick, curly, coarse and frizzy hair. To blow dry it it can be a workout for the arms..and there is no way I can get it as smooth as they can! When this was used (just a couple of drops) on damp hair, the texture of my hair was so smooth and shiny it was amazing. It has certainly not made it greasy or feeling 'weighed down'….just loving the shine and the way it has made my hair look so healthy. This has spurred me on to use up my old oils and then I will be buying this for sure….I also noted that other reviews have suggested other products of the same brand to use at the same time. My hair is naturally ringlet-curly, but the ringlets were always noticeably frizzy. Over the decades I’ve tried oils, creams, mousse, gels, lotions, & potions to try and tame them. I gave up & would blowout my ringlets then straighten my hair, then slather with product. It worked for a while. Enter Covid Hair Loss!! I knew I needed to be gentle with my hair because it was now extremely fragile, which meant cutting way back on heat tools. After an exhaustive search for something new to tame the ringlet-frizz I now had back by letting my hair air dry, I landed on Olaplex No. 7. I honestly did not put a lot of faith in it, but I do now! I use about 7 drops in my hands and apply it to damp hair, then let air dry almost completely. I have zero frizz and perfect curls… ALL DAY! I do use a diffuser just to hit my roots for volume, but that’s it. I went from unruly frizzy curls, to blownout & straightened, to naturally curly shiny non-frizzy hair. I've only been using this product for a month so I can't comment on whether or not it's making my hair grow. I mainly bought it because I needed something heavy duty to slick down the short pieces of hair around my hair line so the fans at work would stop blowing my hair in my eyes while I was trying to work. I didn't want to use a gel so I settled on good old fashion hair grease. The jar is small, but this stuff is like vaseline and it will never run out. The smell reminds me of hair grease from the 90s, but I like it. The smell doesn't conflict with other hair care products I use. One thing that is confusing to me is that the instructions say to not use this product on wet hair. Petroleum and oils are hair sealants, not hair moisturizers, so if you don't have moisture on your hair, what is this product sealing in? For that reason I use this on wet hair. This stuff does not make my hair easier to comb. Quite the opposite. Even when I tried following the instructions and applying this to dry hair, getting a comb through my hair was a no-go. I have to spray it down with water, apply a hair lotion (Cantu Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment), apply this product, and then section my hair in thirds and try to be patient while I detangle my hair in order to pull it in a bun for work. If you use the pea size amount as instructed, this stuff will not make your hair super greasy. Once my hair is dry and the grease is fully absorbed, I feel confident to lay down on a pillow or my sofa without leaving grease stains. Also, it washes out easily even though I use an SLS free and silicone free shampoo (Raw Sugar Truly Unruly).Anony
This is a great hair therapy treatment. I use it all the time as a hair regrowth treatment and serum. I use it to keep my scalp from becoming itchy and dry. I use it to flat press or curl my hair at high temperatures 450*>. Its great as a slow treatment to let my hair spend a day or 2 just absorbing it on the weekend. It helps to heal my split ends, conditions my grey hair to soften, smooth and strengthen my hair shafts. For sure, whenever I am using it my scalp doesn't itch or produce dandruff. I follow the directions on the product. Apply to my hair from root to tip, and go about my day. I did it at night just to try it, left it in for ~1 hour because I needed to shower. Before showering my hair was glistening it was coated with product. But it WOULD NOT RINSE OUT. I went to bed that night and woke up the next morning looking like a disheveled greaseball. And my hair looked the greasiest it’s ever been, and it was everything I hate about greasy hair. I showered again and I think I got all of the product out, and there has been no sign of anything better going on with my scalp/hair. It was also recommended to leave the product in as a heat protectant and I’d be afraid my hair would fry!!rachael.h
