Reviews:
This was my first use of an Epson fine art paper. In the course of the past 50 years of my work I have used most of the established fine art papers for watercolor, pen & ink, pencil and even pen plotted drawings. Usage has ranged from Arches for watercolor and Strathmore for pen & ink. With the advent of high quality digital printing I was not aware that Epson had managed to have a fine art quality paper tailored for compatibility with their printers. This paper has exceeded my expectation and I will re-order the paper.Milkweed
I use this paper to print black and white photos on an Epson Stylus Pro 2880. I order Velvet in the 17×22 size and use a rotary trimmer to cut it into 8.5×11 sheets. This gives me 100 sheets at 8.5×11 for $ rather than buying it at that size for a significant amount more. It is a great paper–for smaller prints. Despite having a noticable texture, it prints with exceptional clarity. For large prints I use Epson's Ultrasmooth, as a 13×19 sheet of it will more easily go through the rear manual feed of the 2880 whereas the Velvet seems to have a problem going through. B&H is where I get pretty much everything now–camera bodies, lenses, printers, new iMac (their price was the best available, even with an academic discount elsewhere), paper, ink, cables, etc.
I have used Epson Velvet Fine Art paper for years but have noticed a recent change in quality. I count on the paper to reveal subtleties in my fine arts photography, a kind of depth or 3D effect. Comparing prints side by side, reveals a very slight downgrade in quality. Identical printer settings yield prints that are slightly darker as though the ink is not penetrating quite as well, and they don't retain the same degree of dimensionality or internal contrast. I'm disappointed but will continue to buy the paper. Hope Epson can reverse those recent changes and get back to the truly great product that they once had.GEORGE I

Reviews:
I had to buy these Epson Colour Print Papers because the wee other printer I had there was nowhere that I could buy cartridges for them, the makers stopped making them, BUT STILL SOLD THE PRINTERS AND LEFT US HIGH AND DRY "BRATS" Now back to the good part the 4" x 6" work great with my big new Epson Printer and the 50 sheets are very well priced. Lovely prints I receive and dry when they come out, but still advise to leave out a while. My Epson printer is a XP-422. Highly recommended photo paper.ivonhoe-99
Epson Radiant White is a good value for the money. I'm an artist and to save money, I use an Epson Workforce 7720 all-in-one home printer to create prints of my work. Paper quality is essential because (by industry standards) my printer isn't considered suitable for printing fine art (although I beg to differ quite often). So, I tried this budget-friendly Epson paper and much to my surprise, it printed beautifully with a few caveats. The colors are vibrant, however, I did need to tweak my hue adjustment as I was getting some strong pink hues in the output where there shouldn't have been. This may simply be due to the printer instead of the paper, so take that as you may, although I rarely have to make adjustments like this. I also bumped up my saturation because as you can see on my original, which was painted on Arches cold-pressed paper, the original was duller than my aim. The paper handled this tweak superbly without ugly tell-tale color shifts in the overall print, such as what can sometimes occur with dark tones. The grain is very fine, what I would equate to hot-pressed watercolor paper. Do note: the more textured side is the wrong side. I do wish Epson would coat both sides to give the option as I think the heavier texture would translate well with the medium I used for this piece of art. Nevertheless, the fine texture did allow the original texture of my paper to come through somewhat. Also, as you can see in the photos, the general and border edges are pristine with no bleeding or color shift. Lastly, the weight is solid enough for art prints, but not heavy. You can see in the one photo where I have the print set atop a glass jar and the print does not flop or bow. That's my standard test and it passes. Overall, I am so pleased with this paper. Considering the price and quality, I certainly recommend this.Jeanie
4. Hahnemuhle 8.5 X 11" Matte Fineart Photo Rag Paper (25 Sheets)

Specifications:
Reviews:
This is a very fine matte rag paper. I especially like the "feeI" of a cotton rag paper and prefer the 308gsm weight over than the 188gsm (especially for limited portfolio editions that will be handled by the viewer). However, if the print is matted and framed, weight would make little difference except that the 308gsm might be better suited for the handling of large size prints. On the downside, for me, this paper has a bit too much texture on the surface, and does contain minimal OBA's.Paul
This paper is lovely. I wanted a fine art paper suited for inkjet printers (be sure to check your printer's paper specs first). The quality of the photos printed is superb. I printed with an HP All-in-one inkjet. The colors are vibrant; the detail is just wonderful. I will purchase again.Katherine

Reviews:
This feels like a heavy piece of quality paper. It's matte and hard to tell which side to print on. I recommend checking the soft-proof very carefully. For me the saturation of color on this paper makes the photo look pastel, which may be the point. If anyone knows how to get rich vivid prints with this paper please let me know.David
Very nice paper for both B&W and color. Very sharp and saturated images, but be sure to use the correct side. Correct side is facing up against cardboard insert when you open package. The photo of product that Adorama uses is of the old packaging. The item that will arrive is in the new and current packaging.Doug
LOVE this paper . . . printed my husband's gorgeous watercolor on this paper, 4 up . . . with 3 regular sizes and a smaller one used as a bookmark. After separately cutting the images apart, I applied each to a beautiful blue card stock and then glued the two pieces onto a blank greeting card. I then inserted a hand-written Holiday message . . . voil . . . a stunning handmade Holiday card, suitable for framing!Antoinette

I love Epson Fine Art Velvet. I've been using it for my art prints for years. Unfortunately, it arrived bent, despite have reinforced corners as part of the packaging. I sent one package back as a return, and re-ordered. The new package arrived bent also. I have orders to fill though, so I'm weighing the corner down overnight in hopes the bend will relax. Please rethink the packaging on this product!Lindsay
I have compared several of the matte finish papers from Epson. When test images were printed (Epson P900) with identical settings; all of the papers appeared the same. The composition of most of the matte papers tested were very similar with differences relating to composition (alpha cellulose or cotton), the presence of optical brightening agents (OBA's), and thickness (ranging from 13 to 23 mils). The Velvet Fine Art compared very favorably and was the lowest in cost compared to the other products.Sanford
7. Strathmore Inkjet Paper

Product Details:
This heavy-weight 140 lb. textured paper turns inkjet prints into watercolor-like paintings. treated to accept ink jet inks, this medium textured surface is ideal for replicating original watercolor artwork or designing an original. the paper is acid- and lignin-free for longevity, and displays best results when not used in a cylinder feeding ink jet printer because of stiffness and sheet thickness. each sheet measures 8-1/2" x 11" and is compatible with both dye and pigment inkjet systems. eight sheets per pack.
Specifications:
Reviews:
I use, or try to use, the Inkjet papers with my printer. When they don't work it is because I have a printer that does not allow much variation in paper thickness. Mostly the Strathmore are thicker than what I can get through my printer so rather than struggle every time I've given up on using them with my printer. I have used them on other printers and the quality of the print has been very good however. I will probably buy a new printer in the near future and I will get on that can accommodate thicker papers. I print copies of my work on the inkjet papers and then rework them into new pictures. In this respect they are very good and the stuff you can do to enhance or rework your stuff on computers is great when you see it on a good quality paper.Mike169

Reviews:
I paint in oils and watercolors from which I am now producing limited edition giclees using a Canon ImageGraf Pro 2100. I bought this pack of 25 so I could do many proofs in preparation for the larger giclees from the 24×39 roll of the same paper. No fault of the paper I had to throw out more than half because I was calibrating and color correcting my images as I printed to get them right. I figured the small price of the pack was worth it and about 10 were sent to the art gallery to sell at $75 each. Now those corrected, almost perfect images are saved and no more wasting paper on them. Not until I go to the next batch of art images that I am turning into giclees. Learning curve I call it. This is beautiful textured paper that retains every brush stroke on the original oil painting. The colors are fully saturated and distinctful. I downloaded the ICC profile from the Hahnemuhle website to use in Photoshop CS6. I am so in love with my printer and the giclees it produces now. I use a Canon Mark II to photograph my original art, then correct the images for giclees.Esther J.
This expensive paper is faulty. It leaves white specs all over your printed image where the ink flecks off. I recomm be choosing ANY other paper. I can't believe this quality name sells inferior paper. Wish I had read reviews before spending $75 on 25 sheets and SO MUCH WASTED INK and Time! Unbelievable. It left me without detain sizes of prints for my art show. Terrible productEdwin

Photo Rag Bright White: Largest gamut of all, More OBA's, Beautiful- prints with P7570. Photo Rag: Less OBA's, Slightly less white and gamut volume but like Rag Bright White they really don't get any better then this. Photo Rag Ultra Smooth had a curl to it so you need to make it flat so you don't get head strikes. Otherwise, similar to Photo Rag but smooth. I really like Photo Rag Bright White and Photo Rag.Jim
I was looking for a matte paper alternative to the canon photo paper I was using for matte prints. I loved being able to compare all of them without the need to commit to buying a pack of each. The A3+ option was also so helpful to compare all of them, and for not much more money. I ended up really loving the Bamboo paper the most, closely followed by the Photo Rag. I went in expecting to love the Photo Rag the most, but was so impressed by the Bamboo paper, please give it a look!Justin
Instead of glossy some photos work better with a more textured look and this sample pack allows you to choose the look you want. They are very high quality papers not too thin or thick. Pick your very best files to wow the viewers with this paper. With a proper frame added the photograph will last and grace anyone's walls with elegance. I will definitely be buying more.Mark

I have been using HP Premium Photo Paper, Glossy 4×6, for my prints but the new, improved HP paper does not give good red tones and provides less contrast among the various colors. Reds appear dull and have a slight green tint. I tried several brands of paper and find that Kodak Premium Glossy Photo Paper provides a much more attractive color rendition. Reds and other colors are more intense and realistic. Kodak is my choice for all future 4×6 prints.Photographer and Print Maker
While there are many choices out there for photographic paper, Kodak has the best quality paper. I have used others, and as an avid photographer, Kodak's quality outshines others. The colors are far more vivid and vibrant, and the paper drys so much faster. Other papers smudge if handled too soon, yet the Kodak paper can be handled right off the printer. I have never seen a Kodak photo smudge or curl while their competition must be gingerly handled for a few minutes before they won't smudge. And although I can buy this paper on line, Staples seems to have the best price when I need it.AZ Jon
I can count on clear, accurate color prints every time. It is a substantial weight and produces a photo that handles well, frames up nicely and will stand the test of time. As a photo album person and a creator of frequent photo collages, I appreciate these qualities. This is the paper I use when I need to make copies of scenic views, amazing flowers or other subjects for my art students to use in class work. I often tuck a recent relevant snapshot into letters to friends and family members. Printed on this premium photo paper, the prints nicely survive mailing trauma and arrive fresh and bright. Thank you Kodak and thank you Staples!

Reviews:
Was hoping to find an equivalent paper in surface texture and color to Arches hot pressed 140lb weight natural white paper. The 310 gsm weight is comparable to the Arches and the smooth surface texture is a close match. However, two gripes. The paper fiber structure has little of the Arches resilience. Folding the rag photographique causes the paper's facing layers to flake off. In spite of this paper's relatively heavy weight it is loose and slack in structure, the Arches hot press paper is a much superior paper. Of course the one is designed for watercolor and the other to travel through an inkjet printer, so take all this with a grain of salt… The second niggle has to do with the ICC printer profiles provided by Canson. My printer, who typically prints on Hahnemuhle, had trouble using the Rag Photographique profiles because they were only compatible with print utilities in Photoshop. I'm not sure if I was getting the run around from my local printshop, but nonetheless the paper isn't worth much if the profiles aren't accessible to print utilities outside of Photoshop. It's a lot to find a printer with the right printing hardware to do a good job, it's another barrier to ask about their printing software… Nothing against Canson, but for a premium printing paper this stuff has been a wash: difficult to find a shop willing to print on it, the ICC printing profiles were useless to my local printer, and frankly the paper quality is less than a real premium artist grade paper. Meh.John
This Canson paper has a lovely, baby bottom smooth finish and a creamy white point. It renders very well although for colour work it does have a rather mediocre gamut and d-max especially in comparison to Canson ARCHES 88 which has a deeper d-max and larger gamut with a brighter white point. Beyond that of course the choice is subjective. Colour Systems Inc., Toronto, ONPaul
This remains my favorite paper for photographic prints that need a deep D-max and sharp detail. The surface texture is reasonably subtle and organic looking, and doesn't intrude on the image while avoiding the slick plastic look of some glossy papers. With the Canon iPF Pro-2000, black and white prints have a gorgeous subtle cool purple tone in the shadows and 3/4 tones.Geoffrey

I am an exhibiting artist and use this paper frequently to make large prints from rolls that will be exhibited behind plexiglass or glass. It's primary characteristic are a bright white base, good color saturation, good blacks and excellent toughness. Once the ink dries the paper can take quite a bit of handling. It also lies flat fairly well when printed from a roll. In addition, the paper is economical, far less expensive than many other papers. Finally, many roll papers are difficult to print as they are very stiff. Epspn Luster prints easily as a roll. Much of the battle over which paper is best is finished when put behind glazing therefore Epson Luster becomes a good choice.

If you take care in shooting your photos and then additional time in editing, why not make sure you can actually see what you've done? I've been using the 8.5 x 11 size of this paper for some time, printing with an Epson R800. I haven't found another paper that shows detail and color accuracy like this Epson paper. Gradients are smooth and edges are crisp. With careful calibration all around, what you see on this paper is what you saw when you made the shot. I usually print in larger sizes, but I still find that 4×6 is nice for portraits and proofs.Wizard
I bought the Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy 5×7 at the same time as my purchase of the Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy 5×7 and the Ilford GALERIE Prestige Smooth Gloss Paper 5×7, with a goal in mind of comparing the three. Using Lightroom CC 2015.6 and ICC profiles for each paper, I printed a single tweaked image with my Epson stylus 3880 on each of the papers. I give the Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy only 3 stars because the colors were slightly off, and it was not as crisp as the other two photos. The Ilford photo colors were spot on, and the image was crisp and clear, rating 4 and a half stars. The Epson Ultra Premium colors were also spot on, and the image was slightly clearer than the Ilford. Since the Ilford and the Epson Ultra Premium are comparatively priced, I gave the Epson Ultra Premium five stars. I was definitely pleased with the results.Error2Error

Reviews:
I've been an Epson Somerset Velvet user for many years and have used various suppliers. I recently decided to see if Adorama supplied this paper and was surprised to find they did and for a good price including freight. I ordered it in the morning expecting to see it arrive in about a week via USPS. The next afternoon it was delivered! In looking over the ship label it was shipped from the East Coast to me in Maui, Hawaii and arrived in just over 24 hours. To say that I was floored is an understatement, but it happened. Adorama was on top of getting the order out and their timing, for whatever reason, with USPS couldn't have been more spot on. Amazing!Charlie
Fabulous product. The only paper I will use for art reproductionsclh

This is good quality paper. Not too thin or thick. You can use all different mediums on this paper.Artsy Artist
Painting a flower wet into wet with multiple washes surprisingly caused minimal buckling. Something I definitely would not be able to do with Blick's sulphite drawing paper. Conclusion: It will not replace watercolor paper, which it does not claim. Large swathes of water will cause too much buckling for my liking. Great for painting flowers without a background. Depending on your need, this is a good value for your money.Mom
