If the world ever ran out of oil and we were faced with a National Oil Crisis.. FEAR NOT! My head could support the world and all its oil needs. Like for real- for real, I could wash in the morning and by lunch look like I was on day 3 of “no ones gonna know” dry pooing. I have tried many products and unless I’m fresh out the salon I can never skip a wash without everyone knowing! I actually bought this for my son to help with his build up as he suffers from the same oily headed mess I do on top of teenage boy hygiene. I was shocked y’all. Like I knew with my moms intuition he just stood in the shower and let the water run but his head wasn’t oily. So I tried it. Not only did I make the entire day, I rolled the dice threw caution to the wind and went for day two! Can’t tell me nothing! I will never not buy this! I use it on Sunday’s and usually Wednesday’s cause the person who’s now in my will at Ulta told me too. 10 outa 10 buy this! Picture is day two after Shampoo Two!adrienne.p
I wanted a clarifying shampoo in my hair routine due to having oily hair and using dry shampoo sometimes as well! I was stuck between OUAI and this Paul Mitchell one. $30 vs $15. I picked up the Paul Mitchell one from Ulta to give it a try. I have been using it for 6 months and I really like the feel of it! Definitely give it a try in between your normal shampoo! Check out my review on the Nexxus shampoo, that’s my normal shampoo I began using and this Paul Mitchell one I use in between!krishma.p
I have an oily scalp from seborrheic dermatitis and probably because it's just oily so I discovered Paul Mitchell Shampoo 2 for oily hair and it's the best. I buy a salon size at Paul Mitchell or a buy one get one at Ulta, works and lasts forever (see full review). But after living somewhere with soft water my whole life then moving to somewhere that's 100/100 on the hard water scale has been hard on my hair. I looked into Shampoo 3, which I associate with chlorine because decades ago when I was a swimmer I used this to protect my blonde hair. It was a different formula that was green then. Now my hair is dark blonde with darker roots (natural blonde) so it shows oil and buildup well. I have all kinds of filters to help with the hard water, but when it's that bad filters don't do much. This shampoo has a light blue tint and a subtle grapefruit scent. Shampoo 2 is clear with a softer lemon scent. I'm sensitive to dyes and fragrance and this doesn't bother me at all. I used this once a week and it really helps! I have so much volume after using this and my roots look great for days (I use another shampoo and wash my hair every other day). I really like this. I probably would need a purple shampoo to take the brassiness out of my blonde but I'm happy that this lets me go longer between washing my hair and does seem to remove some hard water buildup. This is drying. I just use it around my roots and then use a hair mask. If you have dry hair, then get in chlorine, then use this yes it will dry out your hair. But for my needs this has replaced shampoo 2

Reviews:
So I have very hard, chlorinated water in my apartment and my hair is platinum blonde. I started noticing that my hair was getting this ugly yellow tone to it and purple shampoo was not helping (I use Matrix.) I also recently started using a toning mask (Pravana.) Although those seemed to help, it would be short lived because on the days I'd wash with a moisturizing shampoo, I was noticing the yellow tones again. I went into Ulta and asked the sales associate which shampoo would be good for hard water, and she recommended this or Living Proof. I decided to go with this because it was not as expensive, and you get more product than the Living Proof kit. I have only washed with this once but let me tell you my hair looks so much BRIGHTER, and way less yellow! It also left my hair soft, clean and refreshed. My scalp feels amazing. I will definitely be purchasing this on a regular basis to keep my blonde clean and free from the chlorine that's in my apartment's water!Ashley
I brought this on a trip to Phoenix, AZ to use after swimming to remove chlorine. I have bleached hair (Asian dark brunette to blonde/grey) and did not want to risk my bleached hair turning green. This product worked fantastically and was not overly drying. I did use a conditioner after shampooing though. The only thing to mention is that the travel sized bottle is marked as 3.4 oz and not 3 oz as TSA requires. No one in TSA seemed to notice this slight amount discrepancy thoughPat

My two boys and I love this shampoo! We all use hair clay to style our hair and refular shampoo doesn't always get it all out. This stuff gets it ALL out the first time. You do, however, need to make sure you use a conditioner after this, otherwise your hair will feel like it clumps together and has no slip. We love the smell too!infosecgeek
One of the best cleansing shampoos I've come across. I use a lot of styling products in my hair and this was great at cleaning and removing the residue build-up. My hair was literally "squeaky clean" after use. It lathered well and had a great scent, in fact the only downside being the smell didn't last long after use. Still as brief as it was this shampoo makes a great change to the other more floral scented cleansing shampoos on the market. Is it worth the price? Since I don't use this type of shampoo that often (only to remove styling residue every few days) I'd say it's a worthwhile investment to have in your bathroom/shower. I've found it works best when your going to leave your hair dry naturally and free of product afterwards- a night in maybe? Good price, good scent, good job!Gavan
Mens hair products tend to be quite heavy and easily build up. Mitch Heavy Hitter does exactly what it says on the tin (err…tube). My hair felt much 'lighter' after washing it with this product and passed the 'squeak' test after one rinse. It has a masculine smell, that isn't over powering. I didn't have to use too much to get the desired effect and so I foresee this lasting for quite a while. It's unlikely to substitute my everyday shampoo, but I see this more as something I'll use now and again to freshen my hair after a few days of hair gum and hairspray. Definitely recommend!Simon

I have experienced a trauma that has caused medical related hair loss too. I bought this shampoo, conditioner & hair tonic. I followed it exactly as indicated for 8wks. I have also been on a medical vitamin regiment. I reordered these 3 products for a second round. There was 1-2 weeks in between 1st & 2nd round. I do not know if these products alone or these products with the vitamin regiment is what is helping, but I can tell an improvement. My hair stylist has confirmed the same. I have been out of the 2nd round for 2-3 weeks. I am now ordering a 3rd round. I have remained on the vitamin regiment. I kind of think it has been the combination of both, but I do not know that for certain. However, I am continuing as is in hopes of overcoming the medical related hair loss.hairhelp2021
My hair was coming out in handfuls before I started using this. I have only been using this shampoo and conditioner for about a month and I am a believer! I only lose a small (normal) amount of hair when I shower and I don't feel that it's falling out excessively during the day. The reviews are true about this leaving your hair greasy, but after a few weeks of use, my hair has adjusted and is no longer greasy. Take your time really washing your scalp and rinsing, just like your hairdresser would, and you'll be fine. I also switched to a Wet brush made for distributing oil and it has really helped make my hair shiny after using this shampoo and conditioner. Not only is my hair not falling out at the rate it was, it also seems to be growing faster. This stuff seriously works! If you're losing hair, give it a try.Emily
The shampoo is creamy in texture and quite strongly scented like tea tree which I love (but may not be everyone's cup of tea!). It helps clear build-up from my scalp, as promised and doesn't strip my hair color, although I do find it slightly drying – in itself not a problem as the conditioner used straight after balances out the effect. Usually I find it difficult to find an effective shampoo to clear build-up but this one actually does it, and as a bonus I also found it helps keep my scalp clear of the psoriasis that flares up every now and again, possibly due to the Tea tree. With regards to hair fall, I can't say I noticed any difference, but it's possible I just haven't used it long enough. And I don't plan on using it for much longer either because the issue with this shampoo is that whether I use it once, twice or three times per wash, my hair is left feeling/looking greasy and very flat. And no matter how I use it or the duration or frequency of usage, nothing makes a difference. As much as I love the benefits of using this product, the way my hair looks and feels afterwards means I won't be re-purchasing once the current bottle runs out. -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < – < 1. Reviews:
I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. By this time, my hair is usually an oily, flakey mess, but it is not now because of this shampoo! Will definitely splurge for the large bottle!sweetkiwi
Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. One day I thought, I should go to my supply store and try some myself. It worked after only 1 use ! Paul Mitchell has the Best professional products out there ! Wonderful products that work as they say they do ! Have used it 2 times now, and I am Thrilled 😁. Thank you Paul Mitchell for having Wonderful products, that are tested and workLisa N
I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! For me personally, I think it works great and a lot of the negative comments here are from user error but that's just my opinion.Kelsey

Reviews:
I've been using this shampoo and conditioner for just over a year now. Not really realizing my hair was getting thinner and dryer each time I washed and conditioned it. Having horrible split ends constantly even after cutting them. Months later realizing my hair was in fact very thin. In panic I tried different things to help my hair grow back, not knowing it was my shampoo and conditioner causing the hair thinning. I changed my diet, chopped my hair to see if that would help with split ends and dryness but they would Immediately come back. I never processed my hair and completely stopped using heat. I never bush my hair until it's almost dry and don't go to bed with wet hair. I use a silk pillow case. Trying everything to protect my hair and after doing some research, I found out after using this product over a year that the shampoo and conditioner itself was the problem. I am now working with some natural remedies to help restore my hair. I'm having many baby hairs starting to grow back. No much bushes full of hair and no more clogged drains.Payton S
So I'm using this along with the matching conditoner and I'm pretty happy with the set so far. Hair Type: Virgin Fine strands, but a lot Wavy blend of 2A-2C Bra strap length Low/Normal porosity? I have traits from both low/high, so I’m not sure anymore. Hair Concerns: Dry/itchy/oily scalp w/dry ends – fun stuff lol Frizz – Oh, the frizz! Hates coconut oil and protein – my hair gets very brittle and destroyed Since I have lower porosity hair, it takes forreeevverrr to fully wet it. I usually spend the first few minutes massaging my head/roots under the water to get it saturated. I have to shampoo twice in order to actually get a decent lather and feel like my scalp is getting clean. Sometimes I just use the green NYMN shampoo that I have as the first shampoo, but really quick cause that one tends to dry out my scalp. So I pretty much just distrubute the shampoo through my roots enough to help wet my hair more and then use the PM shampoo and really massage my scalp and make sure everything is nice and clean. I use about a nickle/quarter sized glob and that seems to be enough as long as I've already done the first quick shampoo. The smell is nice and pleasant and like the conditioner, I have no complaints. It lathers up really nicely, but rinsing out it does feel a little squeaky clean, but I guess that's kind of normal with shampoos (especially if it has sulfates). I only use this shampoo like once a month (in rotation with other products I use that are sulfate-free), so I don't really notice anything negative. My scalp doesn't get itchy, but it doesn't completly cure it. I still get kind of itchy a day after it's been washed, but I'm not sure what the cause of that is from. Possibly just being dry? It doesn't really help my frizz either but doesn't make it terribly worse like some shampoos have done. Overall, I really like using this duo when I want a good cleaning. It leaves my hair feeling soft, clean, and smells wonderful!julia.s
I kept reading about this duo on Reddit for being the more moisturizing products from the Paul Mitchell line. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed! I use this in my rotation of two other duos, so I probably use this like once a month and only have my experience from the occasional use and not consistent back-to-back. The conditioner is pretty concentrated so you don't need that much. I use maybe 3-4 pumps for my medium-length hair? Hair Type: Virgin Fine strands, but a lot Wavy blend of 2A-2C Bra strap length Low/Normal porosity? I have traits from both low/high, so I’m not sure anymore. Hair Concerns: Dry/itchy/oily scalp w/dry ends – fun stuff lol Frizz – Oh, the frizz! Hates coconut oil and protein – my hair gets very brittle and destroyed I love the smell of tea tree and lavender, so I have absolutely no complaints about the smell. When applying throughout my hair I could already feel how thick and mositurizing it was! I squish to condish and use a wide-tooth comb to distribute the conditioner throughout my hair and let it sit for about 2-5 minutes before rinsing it completely out. It's not a magical aftermath for my hair and I still have frizz, BUT I was actually surprised at how soft my hair felt when it dried. The first time I used the duo I couldn't stop touching my hair lol. Overall, I like how my hair turns out after washing my hair with the matching shampoo. It feels clean, soft, and manageable.julia.s

Reviews:
I had used this shampoo many years ago and recalled it being a nice, basic product. Really liked that it was cruelty free too! I purchased a full liter bottle in September thinking it was a sound investment. Over time I noticed that I was shedding a lot more hair than usual — my brushes were loaded with loose hairs, my shower drain was clogging, and I was finding fallen strands all over the place. I also noticed that I was getting strange pimples on my scalp that went from being benign tiny bumps to open, bleeding sores overnight. The length of my hair started to feel brittle and excessively fine. I compared photos of my hair from July (when I was using a different shampoo) to December (after using a full liter bottle) and I've lost half my hair density. I'm horrified. This product feels nice but over time increasingly damages your hair and scalp — be wary!Didi
I have tried many, many, many salon-quality shampoos. My hair and scalp are very particular and I often struggle to find a product that works and doesn't seem to cause any issues. Paul Mitchell's Shampoo One is an incredible product and a staple in my bathroom. It cleans my fine, thin hair effectively without drying it out, doesn't irritate my skin, and leaves my hair shiny and glossy. And the best part? It's cruelty free! I will never be without this shampoo — I hope they continue making it forever!Gloria
I love Paul Mitchell products and the fact they are cruelty free and don't break the bank like some other hair care brands. However, I felt compelled to share my experience with this shampoo since I didn't see other reviews that did. I used this shampoo for about 6 weeks when I realized that it was causing little pimple-like bumps all over my scalp, and I realized I was also breaking out more around my hairline on my face. On top of that, I was noticing more hair than usual in my brush every time I would brush my hair but I thought maybe it was just me overthinking. Only in the last couple weeks I realized that my hair didn't actually feel as thick as it usually did and that's when I finally realized that I had lost a significant enough amount of hair from this shampoo that it was time to stop before I did further damage. It makes me sad to have to stop using it since I went out on a limb and got the big bottle. Lesson learned I guess!Deidra

I am obsessed with this shampoo! I have thick, oily hair so I've been searching for a nice clarifying shampoo for years. It does a great job at keeping my hair grease-free, and I can go more days between washes now. I only use it once a week because any more than that and my hair over produces oil again. I will definitely buy this again!sarah.h
I started using this product because I needed a clarifying shampoo to get me through not washing my hair everyday and this is the best one I've found. It's clear and has a light lemon scent which is nice because I'm sensitive to dyes and fragrance. I buy a large size through Paul Mitchell's website and it lasts forever because it doesn't take a lot and I only focus on my roots/scalp. I don't use this to wash my ends because it would be too drying.

I bleach the daylights out of my hair on a regular basis and use Pravana's line of color enhancers which is great for maintaining the blonde but is rough on the hair. I switched diet around and got on supplements to help aid in healing my hair but it was still very lackluster. My stylist is a hardcore Paul mitchell fan and recommended this and dear lord does it deliver. I went from soggy spaghetti to a full on lions mane. It's gotten to the point where I've switched from volume to control sprays. The volume even holds on days when I use my purple shampoos which is amazing. It is definitely a permanent part of my hair routine now.Pebblez
I have very fine hair. I can wrap a normal hair band around ALL my hair 4-5 times it's so fine. This shampoo was recommended to me and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. My hair definitely feels thicker and fuller. It does more than just about any volumizing shampoo I've ever tried. I really like the scent too, but I'm a fan of citrus so that wasn't a surprise. It isn't an overpowering scent, but it is pleasant. The cons I see are that it makes my hair somewhat coarse or rough (maybe that's how it gets thicker??). Also my hair is often a bit frizzy with this product so I use another product when styling to help tame some of the friz.KatFHair
Does what it claims as far as aesthetics, plus it has a nice light lemon scent. My hair did look nice and full when using this, and it didn't weigh it down at all. I have very fine and thin hair, so it's common for products to be too heavy for me. However, after about a month and a half of use I noticed my scalp getting a little flaky. I normally have a very oily scalp (and skin in general) and don't typically have any issue with dandruff. My scalp was also slightly tender if I scratched it. So unfortunately I think this product crosses the line from volumizing into drying and stripping. Maybe alternating this shampoo with a moisturizing or scalp-care one would work, but I would personally rather find an all-in-one product. Worth a try if you want volume, but keep an eye out for dryness.Maria

I have healthy fine hair which is prone to getting greasy. This shampoo sounded like a godsend and after first use I quite liked the results it certainly cleaned my hair. However after multiple uses I noticed my hair would be very extremely knitted after washing and brushing through was causing my hair to actually rip I could hear my hair snapping!!. This is very strange for my hair to rip I also noticed my hair felt kind of sticky or coated and running my hand through my hair again it would often rip !. Sadly won’t be buying another bottle and didn’t even finish this one before having to give up . Be careful if you have fine delicate hair using thisremy.a
I've tried every dark blonde and brunette dry shampoo on the market. I have fine hair and wash it about 3x a week. This shampoo not only helps with having it look fresh, I mostly use it for root cover up. It gives me an extra 2-3 weeks between colors. My hair is light blonde but my roots are very salt and pepper (mostly salt). It covers perfectly. Been using it for a few years now. Once and a while I'll see a new brand and try it but always come back to this.Cinnamunster

To preface. I'm a 25 female. Natural light brown hair, bleached low maintenance blonde. Thick wavy frizzy hair that reaches the lower bottom of my back. Prone to split ends and breakage at the bottom of my hair. No extensions. I wanted to add this so people with similar hair types can relate. So to start, I'm so torn on this shampoo… I tried it for 3 weeks and I do like that this shampoo and conditioner cuts down on my overall frizz and made my hair so much smoother and less likely to tangle which is exactly what I was looking for. BUT there is some things about this shampoo I just can't ignore. First off the smell, I just can't get past it. It reminds me of a menthol cigarette. It just smells sooo minty and lingers after washing. Some people may not mind the smell but if my shampoo is going to linger, I'd prefer it to smell like something other than strong mint and almost a tea tree smell. Second, when the conditioner sets for a couple minutes before rinsing out I've noticed that my back and neck where the product has been laying in my hair will get very cold and tingly. Almost like how when you have a breath mint you get the same effect in your mouth but it's on your body this time. This alone made me decide not to repurchase. I like my shower water very warm and I found myself constantly turning the heat up because while the conditioner set I would get extremely cold from the tingly feeling. It can be overwhelming sometimes and linger even after washing the area thoroughly and drying off. I would assume if this was a shampoo and conditioner without the minty smell that I was having an allergic reaction to it but since it has that smell I just really don't know if the tingle is intended or not. And lastly, I've noticed a lot of small breakage at the top of my hair by my scalp. I'm not prone to breakage that high and only notice it after a fresh bleach every once and a while although it is usually very rare for me. I should note that it has been 3 months since my last bleach since I am a low maintenance blonde and I was not using this product during my last bleach. I also take a lot measures to protect my hair that could be the cause of breakage that high. So at this point only thing I've changed is this shampoo and conditioner. I've decided not to finish the rest of the bottle due to concerns about further breakage. This is just my experience. Some people seem to love it but it's a no from me. I hope this helps some people on the fence after reading conflicting reviews. I've switched to Joyco kpac reconstructing shampoo that has also given me the same desirable results so far with a much better smell, no breakage, and most importantly no tingly feeling on by skin.Lexi
I saw the hair loss reviews but if the hair is coming out at the follicle then that is definitely health related not from a shampoo. Shampoo cannot cause hair loss unless maybe a severe reaction to the scalp and there's swelling and for whatever reason the follicle comes out with it but that is highly unlikely. But anyways back to my review lol this is the most hydrating gentle shampoo I've ever used it's perfect! It cleans my hair and makes my scalp feel so refreshed but my hair is detangled and moisturized! And the conditioner is so creamy and moisturizing! The scents for both are so relaxing to me and my hair and scalp are taken care of with this set of shampoo and conditioner. my hair is so soft, shiny and perfectly moisturized. Definitely for medium to thick hair types unless you have finer very porous hair then I think you'd like it. Definitely one I can rely on and will repurchase but I already got the liters so guess I'll be repurchasing after that lolHairlover
I used the Hydrate shampoo, conditioner, and Color-Fanatic Leave-In spray all together, so my options are based on how these products performed with each other. Hydrate Shampoo: the first thing that I noticed about this shampoo is the smell of it. I personally think it smells slightly like Lavender, but i could be wrong about that. Overall the shampoo lathered well and i can honestly say that my hair felt clean after using it. Hydrate Conditioner: like the shampoo, the first thing i noticed about the conditioner was how it smelled, except the conditioner smelled very minty (which i am not at all complaining about). Since it was minty, it did have a tingly feeling on my scalp that i found to be nice. I left the conditioner on for about 10 minutes instead of 1-2 minutes, but i found that my hair did feel very soft afterwards. After washing my hair I followed up with the leave-in spray, but my boyfriend also tried the shampoo and conditioner and the smell from the conditioner actually stayed in his hair for a few days. Color-Fanatic Leave-In Spray: i used this spray before blow drying my hair. I found that the mist of the spray was actually perfect. I know that isn’t explaining much, but i found it to not be too think and chunky or too thin. I like all the benefits listed on the bottle even though I haven’t fully noticed all of them yet. Overall i can say I really enjoy using these three products together. My hair isn’t normally dry, but I did notice my hair feeling more hydrated and softer after these products. My hair even looked shiny, but not an oily kind of shiny, a shine that made my hair actually look healthy, which I didn’t think was even possible. I totally recommend these products if you’ve been interested in them. The price may be a little high but i found the results to be worth the price.

I tried the Paul Mitchell volume çonditioner when i was getting my hair cut about 2 years ago. My stylist said i could use a little more body in my hair and she recommended the Paul Mitchell line. I purchased the conditioner even though it was a little on the pricey side, but I was impressed. It gave my hair a lot more volume and left it very moisturized.amber.l
This review will look more or less the same as my review of the Super Strong Conditioner so be warned!Okay I apparently have false memory syndrome because I thought I reviewed a ton of Paul Mitchell products on here (I'm brand loyal to Paul). For years I have played around with hair products trying to find a holy grail and because I liked to experiment. Once I went blonde, I had to be pickier about what I use especially since I also have grays, my hair often pulls warm (I get my hair dyed cool which doesn't last long due to genetics), and since my hair is damaged af!The Super Strong Shampoo is probably the best shampoo that I have used in recent years. Often shampoo strips the color from my hair making it brassy and also tangles my hair along with making my oily hair too dry. Not with this. One I use up all the crap that I have (I hoard hair products), I'm only going to buy Super Strong Shampoo as a routine conditioner, along with a purple shampoo (Paul Mitchell or another cruelty free one if it works just as well). The line also protects against UV rays which is good because I get that photobleaching from the sun.strawberry.p
Paul Mitchell is one of my two top favorites when it comes to salon products. This shampoo delivers on what it says, but I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. If your hair is on the finer side or oily, this probably isn't the poo for you. It deposits a coating on your hair that could easily become greasy if you don't follow up by using a hot iron to help it kind of melt out a bit. Another issue I found personally is that while my hair was wet after using this, it felt stripped and tangled easily. You definitely want to follow up this shampoo with its companion conditioner! The conditioner doesn't seem to so much as condition, but it also leaves a coat behind that felt more like it served to slicken and detangler- the hair after the dry, stripped feeling that the shampoo leaves. Thats where it lacks in stars, here's where it gets a few: it does what it says, and is a pretty good combo to use when you want super straight hair. *The shampoo itself isn't going to make your hair straight. Used on combination with a flat iron however it is going to be much straighter and more smooth than without it.* I definitely wouldn't recommend this as a daily shampoo! I would recommend this as looking at it like a product that you use on the days when you want super straight hair. If you're wearing your hair any other way, I wouldn't recommend using this shampoo that day.kimberly.s

I have fine, oily hair and this conditioner is so lightweight. The scent is a light apple but not overpowering and I can't barely smell it after my hair is dry. The only thing I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to give my hair body. Although I'm not disappointed about that because mostly bought it knowing the formula would be lightweight. Regardless of how lightweight any conditioner is, my hair tends to hold onto any product so I don't use this everyday. I still recommend this.Zondagirl

I see a few bad reviews, understandable. I didn't look at the ingredients list which I guess I should have. I usually buy this at my salon but just ordered it from here. I think this line smells AMAZING. It smells like you left the salon every time you wash your hair. My hair feels soft and clean afterwards and doesn't leave a residue or make my hair fall out at all. I have thin hair but I have a lot of it.Mikella
I don't usually leave reviews for products but this conditioner was a miracle in a bottle. My hair has been so dry and I've always spent at least 30 minutes detangling that it stresses me out and I usually end up procrastinating and only brush it once every few days and it is DREADFUL. Then I bleached and dyed my hair purple because ya know, f it? I was thinking of shaving my head if it went wrong. And yeah, it did. My hair has been drier than before and super frizzy. Then I found this product. Well, honestly I bought this conditioner because it came with a free hair towel and I was tired of using shirts for my hair. Bro. The next morning after using this conditioner my hair is so soft. The damage I thought was beyond repair was helped by this amazing product after only one use!! I can't wait to continue my healthy hair journey. This product is a must have if you've bleached and damaged you hair. Trust me.Laffy

Honestly speaking, my friend let me borrow this shampoo and conditioner and my hair in the shower felt like silk. It has never felt smoother. I fell inlove and bought the bigger bottles of it because I was in need of a new brand anyway. It was too good to be true for me as after 5-6 washes my hair has started to literally feel like straw. I eat really healthy and only use vegan products? This was my only change. I wake up with completely matted hair. Stay away from these.Laura Sosa
After having surgery, i started losing my hair left and right. I was reading what was good to help. The tea tree lavender and mint works awesome. It's been almost a year since surgery, for the last 6 months I'd been using this shampoo and conditioner. I've noticed that my hair isn't falling out as quick or as much. Love this stuff.shelly.m
I can’t say how much I love this shampoo & conditioner. The smell is amazing and the consistency is perfect. I purchased the Paul Mitchell one and this one beats it! You get a lot of product for the price. The Paul Mitchell version isn’t enough. You barely get any product for $30! But with the GVP, you get plenty of usage out of this. It’s color safe but NOT sulfate free. I have dark color treated hair and it works great on keeping my color and helps restore my hair with moisture without making it greasy.

Reviews:
I have think fine lightened wavy hair. This shampoo is a perfect everyday shampoo to alternative with more specialised shampoos when needed (purple, scalp etc). It smells so good. I wish Paul Mitchell had a matching conditioner. I have oily skin/hair and find I get average to maybe a day longer in between washes with this. Also finding with regular use i don’t need my scalp shampoo as often.Michaela M.
I like purchasing this product when my favorite products aren’t in stock! This shampoo will last you a long time and smells very good! My hair feels great after pairing it with other Paul Mitchell conditioners, but while rinsing it out, my hair feels very dry so that is why it has a four star review. I feel like it takes a lot of the hydration out and I think that’s a great thing if your hair gets easily oily but if not, this probably isn’t the greatest for you. I will continue to buy this as my backup since the smell lasts long and my hair feels fine as long as I use conditioner afterwards!april.j
I bought this shampoo to use on ocassion in between my regular hair shampoo. I thought it would be a good mild, cleanser, but bc of my current hair type, it caused very bad knots and tangles in my hair. For that reason, I returned it. It smelled great and cleaned my hair well, but bc of the knots, it didn't work for me I have shoulder length, straight, fine hair, naturally dark blonde highlighted to light blonde.Rebecca

This conditioner with the matching shampoo has been the only product I have found on salon and store shelves that makes my over processed hair feel like hair again. I have had a blonde head of brittle straw and this product works great, sometimes it is a strong tingle so it's not great for every single day use. I have an oily scalp, I wash 3 times a week and this product reduces my shampoos which protects my hair from breaking. I loose fistfulls of hair when I wash it, not even the pricey bonding products work, plus they are too heavy for my fine wavy hair. My water is town water and they have a lot of mineral residue, it's very hard water. This product works with the water source I have.Chrissy
This is my absolute favorite shampoo/conditioner to use, always! Not only does the tea tree oil clarify my roots, but it keeps my hair silky smooth and clean feeling for an extra day compared to other clarifying shampoos. Also, the scent of the lavender and other ingredients inside this shampoo conditioner duo is phenomenal! I dunno how, but the mint, lavender tea tree oil come together perfectly with scent and that tingly feeling your scalp gets. I cannot even express how eveyone needs to try at least once in their life! I *guarantee* that you will NOT want to use any other tea tree oil shampoo after having tried Paul Mitchell's . My only negative remark on this product is how expensive it can be seen for in beauty supply shops. Online I can usually find the 1L pump shampoo conditioner set for $50 or less. My local hair salon was selling smaller sized bottles individually for $39.99! I'm not sure if this is due to the greed of the beauty salon's or their owner's or if Paul Mitchell isn't providing enough of an incentive or discount to sell from their product at a salon, but whatever it is…it needs to be addressed. This is probably one of the main reasons why it's hard to make money as a beautician. Enough of my personal opinion, go get you some and !tina.c
The absolute best thing out there. I have dealt with dandruff for the past few years. Never had dandruff in my life until recently. I got this shampoo and conditioner and it has changed everything. I haven’t had any dandruff, my hair feels amazing, and my scalp feels so clean. I would get a smell on my scalp and it didn’t smell good. I switched to this shampoo and conditioner and it has completely went away. I don’t even have to brush my hair after using it. I love this product and I will be getting it again!
