20 Best Peels For Sensitive Skin (Jan 2023 Update)

My skin is extremely sensitive. That paired with rosacea, acne, and combination skin type makes it hard for me to find products that cater to all those needs. After starting this my pores have looked better than ever. My skin looks smoother and acne has reduced. HOWEVER, if you have sensitive skin, rosacea, or dryness I would only recommend using this product once a week or every two weeks cause as "gentle" as it supposed to be it can cause irritation. Still a great product and totally worth it. Obviously it's not perfect, but it's worth giving a shot.Katzx

I have sensitive, dry skin. I tried the mini size in this product because I was afraid my skin would act negatively, but it reacted in an extremely positive way. I actually can't believe it. I only used them every other day, and my acne scarring is reduced, and so are the lines around my nose and mouth. I have sun damage on my neck, and it even reduced the marks from that. I'm very pleasantly surprised to see my skin is even glowing. I highly recommend them. I wish the full size weren't so expensive. I may buy them in the future, after I have finished up another skincare line I am using now. This was a great way to do a trial run on them.thecatsmeow

Overall these are really good. They're easy to use, don't require even a sink, the product comes in pads for easy application. You rub one on until it runs dry, wait 2 minutes, then do the same with the other. My skin definitely feels smoother after. But it does sting and waiting the 2 minutes was uncomfortable. I certainly don't think I could use this daily. But for a once or twice a week treatment I think it would work. I have to say, though, that the irritation was less than I expected and I was not very red at all directly after use! Pics included right after use before adding any of my normal skincare routine. I have a lot of exfoliators and this isn't my favorite, but if I was traveling or something I think I would use these because they're so convenient and take just a few minutes.susan.h

I’ve only been using this product for almost a couple of months, so I’ve used 4 applications so far, and I have noticed a tiny bit of difference in my skin. My skin is showing some brightness. It feels very hydrating when you put it on and when I get up in the morning, my skin feels very supple. I think the more I use it my skin will only get more supple. I do recommend this product, and I will purchase it again. As far as sensitivity goes, I haven’t experienced any discomfort. I received this product complimentary for reviewing purposes. I’m not a stranger to chemical exfoliation; AHA, BHA, and retinol are regular parts of my skincare regimen. I also typically use a higher percentage AHA treatment once every week or so. All of this is say: I thought this would like one of those. I was wrong. The application itself is not very beginner-friendly, as the product has a very intense alcohol scent. I found myself coughing each time I inhaled during application. It’s also very uncomfortable, but luckily that feeling subsides after the first minute or so. Immediately afterwards, my skin feels tighter and drier (and my skin is already fairly dry.) The days following, my skin peels and flakes off, not unlike the first time I tried retinol. However, about six days after the peel, my skin is noticeably nicer. The texture smooths out considerably and my forehead looks almost glassy. It’s quite nice. Of course, I stop all other exfoliation three days before and after, stay hydrated and moisturized, and wear sunscreen during the daylight hours. I’m very pleased with this peel, but I’m not sure if I would have stuck with it if I wasn’t already used to chemical exfoliation; the scent, the discomfort, and the peeling for days afterwards could deter someone less experienced.jessica.c

I completed the first vial of blue brilliance a week ago. I had peeling from day 4-7 and my skin looks brighter. I’m looking forward to completing the 2nd vial in about a week. It’s a small vial but the product goes a long way. The initial sensation I felt was tingling, then burning in some sections as well. Hi, I have been using this product for years (but I purchased 60 treatments, not 30)! I love it so much, I get my mother to bring it when she comes to the Netherlands, or ship it to me (since COVID). I used to use the regular strength peel until they came out with this new formula, which I was so excited to try—> with my most recent purchase. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I used it to maintain professional microdermabrasion results from over 10 years ago as a result of acne scars on my cheeks from when I was a teenager. Now I am using it to battle fine lines and maintain even skin tone and youthful appearance. When I first got the products, I used the peel everyday for a week for a more aggressive “initial” exfoliation, and then reduced gradually to three/two times a week and now biweekly or weekly. I am 36 years old, Caucasian with some sun damage and fine lines around the eye area. I have used this peel at night and also in the daytime, however due to my age and skin, If I am planning on applying or wearing makeup that day, that the product does not mesh well with my other creams and foundations, and emphasizes my eye lines. Now, I apply it in mornings on makeup free days (with sunscreen only) but mostly at nighttime. My skin has improved a lot. Because I get such a large quantity, I usually add 3 or 5 treatments in gifts for friends/family because it is such a high quality product that is useful for all ages and skin types ( I used it in my 20’ and now my 30’s). This is a must-have! I was so hesitant to purchase it because of the price but it is so worth it. I have very dry acne-prone skin. I have been on Accutane twice and when my skin started to break out again I did not want to have to go on the third time. I decided to do a ton of research and came across Dr Whitney Bowe's skin cycling routine. I already had a perscription for tretinoin but when I first started using it I used way too much and it made my skin very sensitive. I also needed a product for exfoliation night. I wanted to try Paula's choice exfoliant but it is not available through Sephora Canada so I decided to give this a try. I am so glad I did. This is my favorite product in my routine. I notice such a difference every time I use it. It exfoliates without dehydrating my skin which is a miracle considering I live in northern BC with very harsh winters. It somehow removes all the dead skin while leaving my skin literally glowing. It works so well with my tretinoin and moisturzier – I have never had my skin look so good. Because I only use it once or twice a week with the skin cycling routine it actually is not that expensive. This box should last me 6-7 months. If I had to choose between two products forever it would be the Dennis Gross peel and a simple moisturizer. This treatment is the most effective skin care product I have ever used. It helped me treat my post acne scars and really even smoothed out lines that were starting to form. I was 23 when I started using it and obviously fine line weren’t the primary concern but I found that it really prevented any lines from forming the way I thought they were going to. There is no question, that this is a pricy product and a lot of the products in skin care are luxury rather than necessity. But I believe this is worth every penny and I was buying this even when I could just barely afford. I am not suggesting everyone does the same but I want to stress how much of a difference this actually makes. You can often get this as sample and you will see a difference from one treatment. I started with the regular and moved on to the extra strength as my skin built tolerance. I have never used this daily as suggested as my skin is sensitive and I don’t feel the need, but this does everything that you would expect 5 other masks to do. Definitely try the trial size before committing to the full size. When I first tried this product I had a pretty intense reaction, it does sting a bit and if you are sensitive it can make you red. You should be cognitive of your skin type and what you are comfortable using but this is really amazing.MKorsh

I try to exfoliate twice a week if I am using a regular scrub but with Philosophy’s Microdelivery Peel Set, I am set for two weeks straight. It’s literally facial-at-home in a set. It comes in two containers. The Vitamin C crystals are quite small and packed in an oily paste like concentrate. You have to scoop them out according to your need and massage in circular motions on your face for about 3 minutes. You can go as hard or as gentle as you want. This is a plus point for people with sensitive skin. After that, you have to apply the Glycolic/Salicyclic Gel on the crystal. It will form a very thin layer of foam and your face will feel warm. I like to leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it off with water. No words will ever be enough to describe the result. My face becomes brighter withing minutes. Pores shrink, scars or pigmentations lighten. Skin feels soft supple. Silky smooth, I might add. It’s my best purchase to date.munazza.s

If you want to do an at-home facial? You need this product. You mix the two it forms this foamy, but gritty consistency. You don’t need to mix much for your entire face, so don’t waste it! I use a shot glass and a spatula from another product to mix it together, then apply it to your face immediately… doing circular motions for a couple minutes to really exfoliate. Then I leave it on for about 20 min or so. I’m serious when I say it feels like you have brand new skin! Shinier, brighter brand new skin. This is a hidden treasure kind of product for sure.lacey.k

I recieved this product a few weeks back and have used it weekly. It is very powerful. It makes my skin feel so nice. Be careful ot to get near the eye area. I mistakenly got some under my left eye and did not remove it because I have used other mask and did not have any issues. As a result of NOT following the directions, it made that area red and slightly swollen. I in no way blame anyone but myself. So just be extremely careful! This stuff is very powerful and I will use it for years. My skin feels so great after using it. It is expensive but it will last long time, I believe around a year if used as directed. I received a 3-pack sample of this in my Allure BeautyBox. The directions indicate to start out with using 3 times/week and build up to daily use. These are square towelettes individually wrapped that contain an exfoliating liquid. (Although the title says “peel,” it is a chemical peel, not a mask.) I applied to my face, neck and décolleté area, let dry, then applied my normal skincare products. I have sensitive skin and did not have any adverse reactions, but did not use more than twice per week. I noticed that my mascne was gone sometime between the 3rd and 4th application. (I used 1 towelette twice since there is plenty of product; just be sure to return it to its envelope and clip it shut to prevent drying out.). I will definitely buy this and highly recommend for anyone wanting to add exfoliation to your routine. I could not find at Ulta or Sephora; Macy’s carries it, or you can order online from the manufacturer or Amazon. The website sells 10 “treatments” for $30, 30 treatments for $66, and 60 for $116. Since I saw results with only 2/week use, and using the same towelette twice, this is very affordable for me. As with all exfoliating products, avoid your eye area.laura.s

I got this as a sample to try and wasn’t sure what it was or what to expect. When I tried it, I thought, “well that’s pretty tingly! I've been using the pads daily and after more than one week I can't see any improvement. The product is not strong enough to promote a peeling. Based on my experience, the product is expensive and don't offer visible results, any facial wipes can do the same job. I use this in conjunction w/ CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum and The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% every single night, and it's honestly the perfect combo for hormonal acne and maskne. My skin it seriously glass smooth every day (except I get a FEW tiny bumps before my period), and pores are so clean and tiny. But I haven't had ONE cyst or large pimple since I started this regimen of 3 products. Disclaimer: My skin it pretty tough, but you may want to start out using it a few times a week, and work up to every night if your skin can handle it, bc it can be irritating if used to often / if you have sensitive skin. The only thing I've noticed was some very mild skin flaking within the first week or two of use, then my skin got used to it and has stopped flaking. I also typically have some redness around my mouth and chin while on this regimen (NOT inflammatory or bumpy), but I'll take that over the terrible used to suffer from! I gave it 4 stars, bc it didn't really work until I introduced the other 2 products (retinol and niacinamide/zinc). I tried 2 other products in this line that I did not get results from. I am huge into skincare and that might be my downfall BUT this product is literally almost perfect… Although the name says it’s a peel, it isn’t a peel that you originally think. It’s not a peel mask that hardens and you can take off in pieces. It absorbs into your skin (and leaves it feeling mighty hydrated and refreshed), no rinsing necessary! I love how my skin felt after using this clarifying liquid peel. I like that you don’t have to rinse it after applying- having two kiddos under 3 will make you lose track of time really fast! And you can use a gentle moisturizer after it’s dry, or not! It isn’t a total dealbreaker if you don’t put on a moisturizer because your face is fairly hydrated from the peel so you don’t feel dry. My main con to this product is the phenoxyethanol on the ingredients list. It’s very commonly found in many skincare and cosmetics products; and with it being so far down on the list, the content is very low. BUT I do my best to stay away from products that have this ingredient, just a personal preference. I used this product over the course of a week, 3 times (every other day) so I do feel like I have seen a benefit from using it. My skin doesn’t look so tired upon waking up (again, mom of two young kids here so some long nights happen here). I’m very sensitive to fragrance because I avoid it, if I’m being honest, so I was very pleased to discover this product has no added fragrance and doesn’t smell much like anything itself. My skin felt and looked more moisturized and happy after using this product this week. These are my holy grail product. I used to have acne throughout my twenties and early thirties and quite a bit of scarring. My aesthetician recommended these (ultra gentle ones first). When you first use them, with regular use, you really do visibly see improvement in the texture. You need your skin to build up to them so try ultra gentle first. Over time, breakouts reduce and scars will fade, and a brighter more even complexion emerges. I have purchased these many times and love that through Sephora you get a few extra as bonus, as per pad they are something like $3-4 each. I use after washing face or showering and skip toner due to the neutralizer step, which balances the ph of the skin. Proceed with serum (nothing too active when I use these) and moisturizer. You need hydration after use. Ps. Now my skin has calmed down (no acne) and I aim to use 1-2x per week.Nites

I was able to use this full strength and leave on overnight, several nights in a row without any kind of irritation or effect at all, hence this does not seem to be 30% glycolic acid. I think the neostrata 15% is stronger. Don't recommend. Having read other reviews, some people seem to be getting severe irritation, and others get no effect at all. It seems this product is highly variable in concentration, and not a reliable brand. I would stay away from it as it could be a complete dud in terms of no glycolic acid at all, or it could be too strong and extremely irritating, or maybe you will get lucky with a good batch.iHerb Customer

This is a HARSH acid peel! Glycolic Acid is known to be one of the most irritating of acid peels, so use this with ample caution! Read every word of the instructions carefully, because chances are this will save your skin!! The first time I used it, there was a slight tingling, followed by very smooth skin for a month! But during my second application a month later, it started burning and I was forced to wash it off after just 5 minutes of application. DO NOT use this with any other exfoliant! I wouldn't personally advice anyone with sensitive skin to try this, because my skin reacts badly to almost nothing and it still managed to burn me. Thankfully, there was only an hour or so of redness! Definitely use lots of moisturiser and calming product afterwards! For the size, this product will probably last the entirety of its shelf life due to how little we will use, so it's a good idea to share it with your loved ones! This exfoliant helps me fight against milia. Moreover, it helps clear pores, smooth fine wrinkles, and improve skin tone. I apply it at night and wash my face in the morning. The scent is not very pleasant, but it fades away after a while. I would suggest applying it 30m before going to bed so your pillowcase won't get dirty. It doesn't irritate my skin nor dries it out. Hence, I even don't apply moisturizer after it. I use it twice or once a week depending on how oily my skin is. Also, I like to use it when I have breakouts around my chin. Ok. So I had two really bad scars from my belly button piercing that I took out many years ago. I'm 2017 I got scar removal surgery and it did nothing basically besides make my it a tiny bit less noticeable. Last year I spent over $1,000 on fraxel laser to remove it.. once again this helped the appearance slightly. However my scars were still dark and noticeable. I tried every scar removal gel and even one from a surgeons office, but nothing really helped. I finally decided to purchase this not thinking it would do anything. Iv only been using this gel for maybe 2/3 weeks so far and MY SCARS ARE THE SAME COLOR AS MY SKIN. I have no idea what is in this product but the results are crazy. This exfoliating peel is fantastic and has glycolic, fruit enzymes and of course apple cider vinegar in it so you know it’s a great product with these ingredients. Well, to start, I thought this was an actual peel off mask which it turned out not to be. That being said, there was no foul smells. Maybe a slight one, but nothing like a few of the reviews stated. It dried quickly and as stated in a few reviews there was no stingy or tingling. My skin did feel softer after the first use, but I could still feel some texture on the sides on my cheeks. Skin type: In between oily and normal (naturally), normal when consistently using retionid gels (Tretinoin gel, Adapalene gel) My brown skin is prone to dyspigmentation from inflammation, acne, injury and sunlight exposure. It’s not prone to hyperpigmentation from products tho (except in very rare cases) It also sometimes gets duller looking than usual in the winter. This stuff is a dream. Greatest ADJUNCTIVE OTC product I’ve ever used for lightening darkened skin, instantly giving me a brighter complexion, making my warm/golden undertones pop (more vivid color) and maintaining the flawless even tone I was chasing. Using this all over my face along with hydroquinone (2%-4%) cream as a spot treatment this will quickly fade the darkened spots/sections. If you use other chemical (acid, enzyme) exfoliants and/or strong retinoids (tret, taz, adapalene) you’ll probably get velvety skin that’s smoother and softer the touch. It also gets more supple and bouncy even though I’m still in my 20s and thus have a lot of bounce & smoothness to my skin already. I have been using a stabilized, ph <3, properly packaged ascorbic acid serum for years. It’s my holy grail for brightening but since my skin is resilient I can put it on after using this. These two products are the DREAM TEAM for giving my face the radiance I’ve always wanted I use this on my face for up to 20 minutes (my own dermatologist said this was fine for me considering how my skin reacts to stronger in office chemical peels) and for 7-10 minutes on my neck. When I go over the ten minute recommendation & use it for 15+ minutes on my face I get enhanced results. No irritation, no adverse effects, instant gratification and long term gratification. So I'm 34 and have had adult acne for 10 years. A few months ago I finally discovered my perfect routine and I thought I'd share it with anyone who might resonate. I realized I can't layer products and my skin needs more simplicity. That's when everything cleared. It involves some OT products one of them being this amazing AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peel but some are not. Here it is: PM SKINCARE ROUTINE for dry/sensitive/acne prone skin/scars : 1)Wash face with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser (rinse off with warm water and washcloth) 2)Wipe off any remaining makeup with a cotton pad + Bioderma Sensibio micellar water . It helps prevent damage by harsh tap water. 3)Moisturise with The Ordinary pure Rosehip oil. *3 times a week (instead of Rosehip Oil ) use The Ordinary Mandelic Acid+HA (Moisturises while gently exfoliating over time). Once every 2 weeks: The Ordinary AHA/BHA peeling mask for 10mins. AM SKINCARE ROUTINE for dry/sensitive/acne-prone skin/scars 1) Wrap an Ice cube in thin cloth (like gauze) and massage your face with it for 1 min (then towel dry) 2) Wipe face with Bioderma Sensibio micellar water + a cotton pad 2) Five mins Face lifting massage with The Ordinary Rosehip oil. If you don’t want to leave the oil on afterwards, pad the face dry with a cotton pad. Face massages help blood circulation, which heals acne, scars and reduces wrinkles. *Twice a week: Yoghurt mask (the fat hydrates deeply, the lactic acid in yoghurt brightens scars). I ordered my second bottle of this mask back in May, and just finished the bottle now. I've been using this as a weekly exfoliating mask, but it is not my favorite one I have ever used. It is at a pretty good price point – and I first bought this as a way to start exfoliating at home instead of just when I had the time for a facial (it was recommended to me by a friend with similar skin: sensitive, with rosacea). After finishing my first bottle; I then tried the Sunday Riley good genes (used as a rinse off 10-min mask) and PTR pumpkin enzyme exfoliating mask. I then bought this again to compare and contrast. As far as price; it is obviously the cheapest and a great option for someone on a budget. As far as how well it works; I first got this because at the time I had just cleared up a few months worth of hormonal acne (I am not acne prone, this was my first bout with acne and I did not know how to care for it, so I was left with quite a bit of PIH). I read about how the use of exfoliating can be helpful for healing PIH. In all honesty, out of the three exfoliant masks I've used, this has faded my acne scars the most – but – it triggers my rosacea – whereas the SR and PTR I could use on my whole face without causing my rosacea to go nuts. So, I started only using this on my chin and jaw, but it would still manage to affect the rosacea patches on my cheeks and part of my neck. Since I have faded my acne scars to the point that I want to stop using an 'intense' mask 1-2x's a week, I don't have plans to purchase this again – as it did what I needed it to do. If you want to fade acne scars- I definitely recommend this product (but definitely include the use of sunscreen in the morning) but – if you have rosacea, be wary because every time I used it – I had a reaction. (I just purchased GR watermelon overnight mask with AHA's to see how that will help with fading remaining bits of PIH without triggering my rosacea)hasmm

Works really well. Wish the tiny bottle lasted a little longer so I had a longer test time to really give this a great review. My skin felt super soft after using this, no irritation occurred. I'm prone to breakouts sometimes. Couple whiteheads here and there. Nothing crazy though. I have blackheads too. This didn't seem to clog them or make them larger. I definitely recommend.stephanie.f

Another en for iT Cosmetics! Just about everything I touch from this brand is spot on. The products do what they say they'll and provides results. As for this 'Peel + Caring oil' there were things I noticed on the first use, like how smooth my skin was the next morning. After repeated use, the smooth result continued, but I also noticed a change in texture, fine lines, and brightness. Admittedly, I expected to return this simply because the last time I touched a glycolic acid product -hint .. the one with a white label and green writing – it caused a break out (Coming from someone who does not break out easily) l haven't experienced anything close to that with this. Inevitably, this type of result keeps me buying their products, not that it's a bad thing I guess. I try other brands and more $$ products, but the bar is set so dang high when you get fast results here. I haven't finished this bottle, but I can already tell it will become a staple in my routine. I love these ingredients. I am an avid exfoliater (retinol, bha, aha, peels!) you name it and I use it. I don’t use these daily currently as I’m also using another product from this line that’s intense once a week. I just use this every few days for one minute and feel it pretty good without peeling. If you’re looking for some good peeling go to level two. I’m seeing less oil production and my usual congested spots haven’t popped up and I’m a month in. I love this and do use level two peel once a week or bi weekly, depending on what else I’m using in between. This brand has always been great and I hope they continue to impress because it changes lives when you have good skin you can be proud in.Amandaaaaa

I've loved using chemical/acid peels for years. The only thing I've experienced with other brands is that the stinging is so bad it makes it somewhat painful. And getting out the cotton, putting on gloves, and applying it isn't very easy. These pads changes that. These remind me very much of Stridex pads. Same size, same thickness. Even the smell is similar. But they're not drying. And the solution they're soaked with goes on a little oily which is good because they don't dry the skin like other similar products. These are really easy to use. The directions say to leave the solution on for 2-5 minutes. I'm terrible at following directions (just ask my husband) and I always think "more is better" so I leave them on between one chore to the other. For example, I apply this and do my housework, or computer work, with no rush to remove it. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say the intensity of this is a 2. Very comfortable to leave on longer (for me) which I love. I love feeling this work. Because you can. When I'm done, I rinse with cool water and my skin is left clean and not too dry. I have a slight amount of rosacea and this doesn't irritate it. Frankly, I like this product even more than I anticipated. I'm a skeptic and wasn't sure what to expect but I like this product a lot. I'll be reordering. I recommend this without reservation to anyone considering it. It works. Enjoy!NJD

I bought this product a while back because of it's cute packaging tbh I love the color pink, however using it was a whole different experience beyond just the color. It was not harsh at all yet seemingly peeled off all my dead skin, my face felt as soft as a baby's butt after my first use. Now please, pleaseeee be extra careful when using this product just like any other exfoliant. I'd recommend using this product with just ur hands when exfoliating please dont rub this product in with a facial brush it already does a great job on it's own also make sure u are using this product 1-2 times a week like any other exfoliant and the price is beyond great for the results, the only thing I would change about this product would have to be smell 😂 i guess I'm just sensitive to certain smells (AGAIN THIS IS NOT A CLEANSER THIS IS AN EXFOLIATOR) I did buy their cleanser not to long ago which is the blue bottle on the right but that's for another review. This is a great product. I use it in the shower on my face once a week. Afterwards, my skin feels like glass. I saw several reviews on here that mention a strange texture, this is because the Enzymes mix with a dead skin cells to slice them off. Another amazing product from ELF and this product is definitely perfect for every eye, lip, and face 😉😉. It is a gentle exfoliating peel that works great for all skin types, it isn’t to harsh on the skin and leaves skin with a nice natural healthy glow. It has a consistency similar to a gommage peel, the only difference is once you apply water to your face the contents dissolve into the skin making it easier to remove the product. I have used gommage peels in the past and honestly wasn’t really a fan. I felt like they were a bit messy and constantly got stuck to my peach fuzz and even at times my baby hair. This peeling exfoliant does not have that problem and actually provides physical results even after the first use. I was fairly surprised the first time I used this product because of the glow my skin had afterwards. My skin looked bright, radiant, healthy, and had a nice shine to it. This peeling exfoliant is gentle enough for everyday use and from my experience caused absolutely no irritation what so ever. It smells very nice and contains some pretty fantastic ingredients. The packaging at times can be a little faulty. Don’t get me wrong I love the pump aspect but sometimes it gets jammed and I end up having to unscrew the top to get the product out because the pump isn’t working properly. All in all that isn’t a deal breaker for me so I continue to buy this product but just be aware that the pump can be difficult at times. Considering all the great ingredients in this exfoliant and the results provided the price seems insane to me. This peeling exfoliant only costs 10$ on elf’s website. I know I’m not the only beauty lover and skincare enthusiast that loves a good bargain on some good quality skincare. So in my opinion the price is definitely worth a mention. Moving on some of the key ingredients that stood out for me was tangerine, papaya extract, and licorice root. Tangerine contains high levels of vitamin A and is great for those who have acne, pimples, and other minor skin issues. Tangerine works great as a peel and can help speed up the healing process for minor wounds and scrapes. Papaya extract has skin lightening properties that help clear blemishes and dark spots. The enzyme papain, along with with the alpha-hydroxy acids, acts as a powerful exfoliator and dissolves inactive proteins and dead skin cells. Working as a great exfoliant to help improve skin’s complexion and provide a softer base. Licorice root is known for helping to soothe and calm irritated skin. Licorice root is very beneficial in helping those with atopic dermatitis and other skin conditions that involve redness and irritation. Elf cosmetics gentle peeling exfoliant has ingredients that exfoliate skin but also balance skin in the process. Helping to prevent the skin from looking inflamed and irritated. I wouldn’t necessarily say I have super sensitive skin but I do often get irritation from using exfoliating skincare products especially depending on the strength and ingredients in each product. So it’s great to know that their is a product I can rely on to help exfoliate my skin but isn’t to overwhelming in strength. If you are looking for a gentle peeling exfoliant and have sensitive/reactive skin than I highly recommend trying this product out. It might work really well for you.mary.f

you're just using too much. It works best a tiny bit at a time. I use it regularly but also to remove the dead skin around a healing blemish that I played with too much. Anyone who says this doesn't work, or that it's just the product balling up is just plain wrong. It's the only type of exfoliant I've ever used that actually visibly removes dead skin. I've tried many different brands of peeling gel but this is my favorite. I do hate the bottle though, about halfway through you're gonna need a tiny spatula. Thank me later.Sweetrin

I love this product for a chemical exfoliant. It's a unique product in that when you rub it on to dry skin, you can actually feel the dead skin pilling up on your face. It's kind of gross at first but also cool to know that it's definitely working at getting the dead skin removed. This gentle peeling exfoliate is just that, gentle. I have sensitive skin that tends to get irritated sometimes when I exfoliate with other products, but this one does a really good job without irritation. My only caveat to this product is that the pump broke on it, so I have to remove the lid and get the product out that way, but I can overlook that for the amazing product.alyssa.s

I have purchased this product several times. I ALWAYS go by directions! Depending on my skin at the time of peel, I might do one or two layers or I might to the max amount. I also leave it on for different amounts of time depending on how my skin is that particular day, but again I never go over the max amount on the directions. This is a serious peel and you will love the results but you must follow the directions. My suggestion would be to go light/easy the first time or two. Make sure you do over bathroom sink & have a cold wet washcloth nearby So you can safely remove the mask When the time is up. Keep away from eyes!!!! And have your phone timer nearby so you can be vigilant about timing yourselfjackie l.
