Quite Happy with or without a Pandemic. Not having been to a salon in over a year, I wanted to try something, and used this with HairFlair for beach waves. My hair is thick, previously colored, and super straight. Scent isn't bad, not like 'perm solutions', and I kept it at 20 minutes and got the wave I wanted. Glad I purchased 2 boxes, because I did run out, and I have short hair – so if you have long hair – get a few boxes. (my hair is barely touching my shoulders). Definitely buying again, and saving $200+
I have used this perm for the past couple of years and was very happy with the results, it left my gray hair soft and the curl was very nice and there was no strong odor to the solutions. However, I just purchased a box and went last week to get my hair done and was astonished. First the solutions stunk like a very stong perm, it actually was burning my nose and making my eyes water, I had to cover my face. The hairdresser was even having a hard time breathing. The curl is awful, there really is no curl and my hair feels real dry, plus I have noticed my hair is falling out quite a bit and in the front part where my bangs are it feels like a brillow brush and when I look closely, I have little stubbles. This perm really did a number on my hair. I have always liked this perm and always bought it to get my perm done, but I am not sure what happend this time. Not sure if they changed the solution. I have used Phyto Specific for about 12 years–alternating between Phyto 1 & Phyto 2–and would never consider another relaxer for my hair. Although pricey, it is worth it because I can expect consistent results each time I use it. It leaves my hair silky smooth. No breakage or scalp irritation. I have very fine black and the summer humidity and my daily workouts can cause my hair to become kinky and frizzy. I have to be very careful using hair relaxers. Most hair relaxers use lye which can damage most hair types. Photo has 2 types of hair relaxers, one for very fine hair and another for thicker hair. Phyto does not use lye and sources from all natural ingredients. The Photo index 1 for fine hair allows me to relax my hair without damaging it. You do not have to be a professional to use the product. The directions are easy to follow. I can do my daily workouts and not have to worry about my hair.
Several months ago, I first bought this product to test it out and to determine if this relaxer was right for my hair. I must admit I was very apprehensive because I didn't know what to expect. I'm not one for chancing unknown relaxers on my hair. Therefore, doing my research on the product I decided to proceed on the side of caution, hence the reason I ordered the Index 1 for Fine Hair. Well, I am happy to say I love the results I got. I like to keep my hair short because it's very low maintenance so deciding to get this after the store was out of stock for my originally used rexlaxer and I was in dire need. I used and am highly upset. It left my hair extremely brittle, made my hair look ragged and extremely damaged. I couldn't wait until 4 weeks to get a spot perm for my shorter back and sides. I noticed immediately after I applied it was awful. Do not recommend nor will I ever use again. I took the one purchased and trashed immediately. Not worth it and a really bad like of relaxers.

Glad I purchased 2 boxes, because I did run out, and I have short hair – so if you have long hair – get a few boxes. (my hair is barely touching my shoulders). However, I just purchased a box and went last week to get my hair done and was astonished. First the solutions stunk like a very stong perm, it actually was burning my nose and making my eyes water, I had to cover my face. The hairdresser was even having a hard time breathing. The curl is awful, there really is no curl and my hair feels real dry, plus I have noticed my hair is falling out quite a bit and in the front part where my bangs are it feels like a brillow brush and when I look closely, I have little stubbles. This perm really did a number on my hair. I have always liked this perm and always bought it to get my perm done, but I am not sure what happend this time. Not sure if they changed the solution. Any Ideas of what could of happend. I have been going to this hair dresser for over 30 years and like I mentioned earlier, I have been using this product for the past couple of years with excellent results until now.
