20 Best Permanent Pink Hair Dye (Jan 2023 Update)

For a back story I am a natural sandy brown and my hair is in a mohawk currently. So I purchased the iroiro neon blue and first I did a bleach kit as I mention darker natural hair as I wanted to get the full effects of the neon. So bleached first then onto the color. I applied the color and left it on for 45 minutes so that i would get the bright vibrant blue i wanted. 45 minutes later i wash dye out under cold water as warm will fade it, didnt want that. However I have been dying hair for 20+years so I'm experienced and know what I'm doing. I am almost a week out and I literally look like I used one of the 1q 0 washes dye because I havent washed it yet but it looks as if I've pretty much combed it right out. This is by far the worst hairdye I have ever used. I've used numerous brands and numerous different colors and I will never purchase this brand again. I would not recommend it as it does not do what it stands behind. Worst product ever.lyndi.t

Ive used multiple Iroiro colors by now (Plum, Pink, Yellow, and one of the blue colors) and I love them. The smell is FANTASTIC, my hair feels great, and the price is worth it. The pouches are so convenient and much easier than having to shake the last bits of dye in a squeeze bottle (aka Arctic Fox). Also the colors, especially pink, last a good while and fade nicely. I just used a mix of plum, pink and yellow on dyed brown hair for a nice color tiny and it looks beautiful in the sun. Definitely recommend. Also cruelty free and thats always important!rebekah.a

This product worked wonderfully. I used L’Oreal colorista for brunettes to make a conditioner to put on my hair first. This is a true burgundy plum on medium brunettes. It came out so red I was impressed. Not that messy imo. My only regret is that this color looks better when I’m pale in winter. Can’t wait to tone it with a true violet. So far Amika violet toning drops are helping make it a bit less extreme. Great color payoff, environmentally friendly packaging, minimal damage. I did not put conditioner underneath to open my cuticle for scalp oil. Great technique for oily scalps. Love. Bought this from Sally’s it was affordable. Easy to stretch too.sheri .h

*3 pictures with results I was so excited for this product, and grew my hair out so I could see the results on healthy roots. I didn't even open the hair color box before today…I wanted it to be a cool reveal! Unfortunately, I didn't receive the conditioner or the stain eraser, so this could be considered an "incomplete" result…but I wanted to review what I could. I started out with platinum blonde hair and my roots were growing in silver and dark grey. IGK had it's work cut out for it. The box color was Olsen's (I'm guessing to replicate MK A Olsen), and my hair looks almost too natural blonde!* I can't decide if it lays a color on, or bleaches your hair. Either way, it's a great color to be'naturally blonde' if that's what you're going for. Why the 4 stars instead of 5? Because I had to scramble to find an extra hair coloring kit (to steal the shampoo/conditioner packets) in order to get it washed/conditioned properly… because we all know, a standard conditioner doesn't cut it when you're stressing out your tresses with harsh chemicals no matter how nice it smells. In summation, it's a great color, smells a little odd (like a cooked green vegetable) but not bad, made my skin tingle/sting a bit, and the kit wasn't complete. *pictures show the color changed the platinum to a more medium natural blonde, and lightened the roots – which are normally pretty dark greyjennifer.l

This was my first time trying an IGK hair color product. I found it quite easy to do. The packaging it comes in opens up into a tray that shows you step by step how to instructions. The only thing it didn’t tell was whether your hair should be washed that day or not and I was able to find that info on their site. This product has several steps some of which I was not used to from other brands. It included a barrier gel to put on your forehead and ears to keep from getting dye on your skin. I’ve never seen that before with other brands but it really was a big help. The dye itself was easy to mix and it didn’t have any terrible ammonia smell or anything. It’s thick in consistency so you don’t have to worry about it running much either. After washing out and treating with the conditioning step there is an eraser step which helps with cleanup. That was very nice to have. It easily removed all dye that managed to get on my arms and sink. I will say the shade that was chosen doesn’t really feel like it’s very different that my starting shade. It did however give my hair added depth and tone. I see different highlights and lowlights and my hair is definitely much shinier. My hair even feels softer.This hair color is cruelty free as well as vegan. I definitely would recommend this hair color brand and will be purchasing the next time I color.shivon.s

I was so excited to try IGK’s Permanent Color Kit because they are a cruelty free brand and the product is clean and vegan. My normal hair color is dark brown and I tried the color Back to Brown (5N). To be honest, I had gotten kind of lazy with covering my grays (which somehow seemed to multiply rapidly during the pandemic), so I was in dire need of coloring my hair. The first thing I noticed was that my kit didn’t include gloves, which must’ve been a mistake since the instructions specifically say to put on gloves before applying the color. Since I didn’t want to have my hands stained dark brown, I ended up having to ruin a pair of rubber kitchen gloves, which ended up being pretty bulky and cumbersome during the process. The kit also didn’t include an applicator brush of any kind, but thankfully I happened to have a spare applicator brush from an old dpHUE hair color kit because there’s no way I could work the color through my hair with just the bulky rubber kitchen gloves. My grays are pretty stubborn so I left the color on for over an hour (the instructions say 35 mins but 45 mins for stubborn grays). Aside from the color, the kit included packets of Protect Color Block Barrier Gel, Erase Stain Removing Cleanser, and Post-Color Treatment Mask, which were nice touches. However, the instructions say to cleanse with your favorite IGK shampoo before applying the Treatment Mask, so I was confused why they didn’t include a sample packet of shampoo as well. I didn’t have IGK shampoo on hand at home so I used a different brand of shampoo for color-treated hair instead. Unfortunately, the end result was pretty disappointing. Despite letting the color process for over an hour, the grey coverage was awful. I don’t know if having to use bulky rubber kitchen gloves was to blame, but I could still see plenty of grays peeking through immediately after I completed the process, which you can see in the before and after pics. The missing gloves, lack of applicator brush and shampoo packet are inconvenient but nothing I can’t work through. However, when I don’t even have complete grey coverage afterwards, there’s no point even using this product. There are other cruelty-free brands out there with better results so I wouldn’t recommend this product.kirsten.c

I used this years ago when I would do fun colors and it was always great. The color was super bright and lasted longer than other brands. It also made my hair feel shiny and healthy compared to brands like Splat. Here is a pic of me (natural super dark brown hair) with bleach highlights. I put this on my whole read and it gripped on to my highlights for a bright red and tinted my brown dark red toolexi.r

So I'm going to start by saying that this hair dye is my go-to vivid dyes, they are amazing, all except for the pink. DON'T BUY THE PINK. Seriously, I have no idea why they are all amazing and that one color is such a dud but whatever. I've been doing vivids for over six years now and I have always used Pravana. I was absolutely bummed when they discontinued the Locked-In line because when you are doing multiple colors they can bleed together and the Locked-In prevented that and it was amazing. I really wish Pravana would bring it back because I know I'm not the only one who appreciated it. Unfortunately I did try the crystal colors and they were absolutely horrible, they left spots that were completely untouched and I had to completely redo my entire head. The regular vivids are amazeballs though and I will continue to use them.kathleen .h

So you really have to know what you're doing when it comes to the chromasilk everlasting vivids by Pravana. that's why they say "for professional use only" but if you put a 2:1 or 1.5:1 ratio of only 10 lift/developer then you have some of the best colors possible. it's just amazing. but the regular vivids that do not need developer are just as great too.Nadia

Of context my hair is a deep brown with red undertones naturally. We the blue metallic no bleach. Followed instructions left it for 45ish min when we rinsed the water was blue and we rinsed til it ran clear. Did the conditioner and washed it out and shampooed the conditioner did smell nice though. We blow dried and my hair was a reddish orange color. So I believe it stripped brown from my hair almost like bleach but my hair isnt damaged at all. Win for me though I like the color just not blueCharlize

This color is stunning! I love most everything about it. I haven't colored my hair in nearly two years and had some fade-out at the ends of my natural color. This covered everything really well, with no "ombre" fading. (I have included a before photo, also.) Although it doesn't really look metallic, I do like the multidimensional aspect. Looks darker indoors, couldn't really get a good photo, but it's a deep plum shade. Daylight is always more accurate ☀☺ My only complaints- 1. The color did come out a bit streaky underneath. I made sure my hair was well saturated and left it on for 45 min, so not sure why. Thankfully it was underneath, so I'm not too concerned. 2. The conditioner packet is smaller than what I'm used to, and I really don't feel like it conditioned my hair well. Nothing remarkable. I would recommend using a separate deep conditioner for color-treated hair, especially if your hair is shoulder-length or longer. All-in-all, a great color and I have received tons of compliments. Didnt work at all. My hair is dark but I had used the metalics in my daughters hair and it actually turned it purlple. This summer I wanted to try the blue in my hair and there is NO BLUE whatsoever! Most ppl would be skeptical of this without bleaching first.. and at first I chalked it up as just that, but then I realized that it didn't even cover up my gray hairs. They atleast should have been blue.. so idk if it was just old or something. I contacted seller and they are acting like I have no proof of purchase. With a order number that is.. This pink is NOT pastel any sense of the word! If this is pastel then I’m madonna ( I’m not). I had bleached out my my hair till level 10 was super excited To use this as I’ve had my hair every color of the rainbow and pastel pink is one of my favorites. I Checked my hair in about 10 minutes since it was so Highly pigmented. The dye did appear dark out of the bottle but that happens often and it doesn’t mean it’s the final color so I wasn’t really concerned. When I checked my hair 10 minutes in it was bright pink and when I say bright I’m talking about neon signs a blazing bright! Now I have nothing against neon pink hair it just doesn’t look right with my skin tone and it’s not the color I was going for. I honestly would not recommend this to anyone if they are looking for a pastel pink or even a light pink… a true pink …:magenta pink. The only time I would tell someone to go ahead and use this is if they want neon pink bright neon pink it does not wash out of your hair anytime soon. It does say 5 to 30 washes but let’s put it this way I ended up having to bleach my hair out again to get it out . So all in all I would never use it again I give it to storage because I mean the quality of the dye was very good for a direct dye color was vibrant he lasted quite a long time but it wasn’t the color it had Represented itself to befabianna.t

All the people complaining in the comments either are too impatient or have no skill at all. I suck at dying my hair but it took little effort to dye my whole hair. Not to mention I am latina! I have the thickest hair you have ever seen ! This thing is ammmazimg. I have tried other brands and they never washed off and ended up leaving the color on my hair for months. This is affordable and works if you want something temporary or like to change colors all the time without damaging it. This brand has never dried my hair out btw. The best thing about this is a little goes a long way & it is highly pigmanted. When I had hair up to my lower wings it was able to cover all of it. You just have to be patient! I like to keep my hair a pretty shade of light purple/lilac. While I was shopping at Walmart, I saw a few bottles of . on sale. My hair had been looking pretty blah lately, so I decided to try it out. I liked the fact that it was a "PASTEL" shade of purple, cruelty free vegan, and also was super strong and took as little as 10 minutes to fully develop. I brushed it onto the bottom half of my hair, which had been previously bleached numerous times in the past. I left it on for just over 2 hours, which I normally do with semi-permanent dyes like this (dyes like Manic Panic I leave on for even longer and blow dry for best results!). When I saw the color of the dye itself, I was SO excited! It was SUCH a beautiful shade of purple! Not dark, or harsh in any way, but it reminded me of cupcakes or sprinkles. What I got was a whole other story! My hair turned out SO dark! I only left the dye on so long to deposit the color, I never thought it would turn such a deep, dark, totally random color. I'm so disappointed in it, but everyone else thinks that it's the right color and I get a lot of compliments. I've washed it once so far and while it has lightened drastically, it hasn't lightened to a pastel anything, it's just a faded version of the super dark purple. I can't complain about it too much though, because it was a random purchase, and I only paid $3 a bottle and it only took 2 bottles. When using this you have to be super careful, because it stains everything around you quickly and permanently! It stains things much worse than other dyes like it that I have used. I also don't think they should necessarily call it a "pastel" purple, because straight out of the tube it is a much more brighter, more vivid purple than a pastel, and the color it made my hair is nowhere near a pastel. I would probably only recommend this dye to people who don't expect their dye to last a long time or change their hair color a lot, or it could be maybe good for someone dying their children's hair because it seems like it washes out pretty easily. I didn't approve or ask for this shade! I got starry black. I'm a natural blonde. In order for me to achieve black hair that doesn't turn green after the 1st wash,I would have to do a filler color first like a medium brown. I don't want to put all those chemicals on my hair. Plus I don't want black hair! I DID NOT USE THIS! I have used feria in the past though, I have used their bleaching kit and their auburn, red and black cherry shades. It is the only box dye I will use. It not only has an essential oil you add to it for a better smell but it also helps the hair feel softer and more hydrated as well as look shiny and healthy, well as healthy as dyed hair can look. For a box dye it's not bad. If I had gotten a color I approved of I totally would have used it! My daughter has medium golden brown hair and has been debating allowing me to use this on her. Pleasantly surprised with how well this lightened my hair! I had a little accident with a light brown color that left my hair dark brown! I'm talking reallyI'm talking really dark! So I tried another product to lighten it up a little bit which turned it into an orange color! So I picked this up just to give it a shot and see what I thought about it hoping that it might lighten the decade or two and I'm really happy with the results. I personally think this dye is great, but I can think of another brand that has more staying power and is cheaper, so for that reason I can only give this 4 stars. The tone of this pink is unique to pinks I have bought previously and I think that's great when wanting some dimension! The texture is hard to describe but not its really creamy or gel like. And I think it smells like peppercorn, which doesn't bother me. I find a tube of this goes a really long way too, which is fantastic! The staying power is pretty average for your vivid pinks. Its rare for them to last too long. But I touch mine up every few washes around the roots and let the rest fade to a pastel, so its no big deal.dominique.f

I recently tried this product for the first time and I think it’s now one of my favorites! I’ve gotten TONS of compliments since I used Blue Ruin and I’ve used them all, over the years. Warning: stuff is Pravana Vivids level of stainage. RIP to a couple of ratty old towels, lol. My hair is between a level 2-3 with grays and I bleach and then highlight it to level 7-8. Pro tip is that I mix this product with a little conditioner and Olaplex 3 and then leave it in my hair for 2 hours. It really saves it from being fried. I have a feeling I’ll be using that combo for a while.lisa.b

I tried to manage my expectations a little with this product, as it’s recommended for light blonde or pre-lightened hair but mine was a balayage with dark blonde/light brown. Turns out it defied my expectations and still came out as a super vibrant red! My hair is chest length and the tube had just about enough to cover nearly my whole head (my roots are dark so I avoided those) with a small amount of conditioner mixed in to stretch it a bit further. I’m now on wash 3 or 4 and I’m surprised by how much colour is still in my hair! The vibrancy has been toned down but it’s definitely still red and I expect it will be for a while yet.Nicole

I LOVE MANIC PANIC ❤️ This is my go to hair dye. It never disappoints! It's vegan and cruelty free. Not harmful for your hair. It goes on your hair just as it comes… Open it, crack the seal and apply straight from the jar/bottle. This is my new color as of tonight and it is amazing. The amplified is supposed to last longer and be a more vibrant, stronger color. The scent is rather nice with any of them you get. This one reminds me of the smell of grape tylenol. I absolutely loved this product and color when I had my hair dyed blue. It kept my color so vibrant. It does stain your hands, skin and tub so be careful when using it. If it does stain your tub it should fade over time. You can put it straight on your hair or mix it with your conditioner to just touch up the color. The picture was taken right after coloring with the rockabilly blue. I would definitely buy this again.hunter.l

This box is great to dye your hair red if you have dark hair. It comes with two different tubes. Bigger one comes out like a cream and its white ish, then the smaller tube is the actual “dye” or ink lol. It’s labeled as “copper intensifier” or something like that. I was so indecisive to use it but it’s literally needed, because the bigger dye is just white. So you mix them together to get the red. I only bought one because I mixed it with two magentas to get my ideal red lolAmerica

The product itself is great when you receive the correct coloring packet. I give the product 5 stars. The vendor gets a 1. My daughter has used it many times purchased elsewhere. Her friend didn't look at the label and used it on my daughters bright red hair. It was not red it was copper. I asked for a replacement and the company wanted pictures of the box, contents and packing slip. I don't have a packing slip so sent a screen shot of my on-line order form which clearly states the product was shipped to me by them. They keep sending me the same letter and I keep sending them the same pictures. 4 times I have sent pictures. I will not order from this company ever again.Jane

I never used this product before and I’m so impressed with the result. The color is so bright and perfect I’m in love of the color. I use two tubes to color my hair because I have a lot of hair and is kind of long, and yes guys I cut off my hair too is not that long as it was but is not too short too. But this color is dye is totally recommend it I use one number 5H on my mom’s hair and the color is so bright and beautiful as well. We love it.cristina.l

I really want to find their mushroom blonde, I am dying to try it but I used the soft black for my root shadow, it helped with the orange and looked soft and natural. Before caving in to trying the $3.50 hair color I used Ion from Sallys, loreal and garnier olia (which is also good but fades super fast) Also I dampened my roots for a softer root shadow. Rinse in cold water so it doesn’t transfer to your blonde. It worked beautifully. 100% would be trying their other colors.sarah.o

So I have dark brown Indian hair with grays in the front and temple area.. My hair color is what Caucasian people call being a brunette but it’s not black by any means. I have bought so many different shades of brown from this line from Revlon and other brands hoping to achieve the color that the model on the 20 brown black box have. That’s what my original hair color is. So when I bought number 20 and colored my hair, it turned it to almost black. So I bought lighter shades, some didn’t work at all on my gray hair. The only reason I’m coloring my hair is because it’s gray and I’m not ready for that yet. Yesterday I bought 27 deep rich brown hoping to achieve the brown color it shows on the box and also knowing that it’ll be darker than the box but it would not be black. Unfortunately it’s still too dark for my liking. It covered all my gray but my hair is almost black. Since it’s permanent, I’m not sure it’ll lighten up with washes. Going to try even lighter shades once my gray roots start showing. My roots show after a week or so, so I will look for another color and hopefully get a close match my hair color. I don’t get why they put models with a different shades of hair vs what you actually get. That’s just confusing to me and misrepresentation of the hair color. 3 stars for the cost.Love to shop

Unfortunately it’s still too dark for my liking. It covered all my gray but my hair is almost black. Since it’s permanent, I’m not sure it’ll lighten up with washes. Going to try even lighter shades once my gray roots start showing. My roots show after a week or so, so I will look for another color and hopefully get a close match my hair color. I don’t get why they put models with a different shades of hair vs what you actually get. That’s just confusing to me and misrepresentation of the hair color. 3 stars for the cost.Love to shop

I bought this color for my son. We both regularly dye our hair with Manic Panic. For some reason Pillarbox red has been an absolute nightmare. It is constantly bleeding on EVERYTHING. His hoodie, bedding, pillows, shirts, my bed, seat on his bus, my car seat, my stainless steel sink, etc are all red. I would give 1 star of I didn't know and love manic panic. I have been using it for 30 years! I washed his hair 5x 2 days in a row for a total of 10 times and it is still happening. I am losing my mind. All his clothes are getting ruined. I don't want to rate quality because I don't want to bring the rating down if there is just an issue with this batch. I just wanted to share my experience.Angel5787

I purchased silver stiletto. I already have blonde hair but bleached it awhile back. Grew my roots out and recently rebleached those and then cleansed my hair with shampoo and no conditioner. After fully drying I used the whole bottle on my hair and it was thoroughly saturated, even rubbed it in to make sure. Covered it as instructed for thirty minutes and NOTHING! Two big light blue blotches near the ends of my hair and nothing else. Vast Majority of my hair didn't take the color. At minimum usually my hair will pick up color and keep it going for a few washes. This product is Not even worth a dollar. Don't buy this.Coralcrumbs

I bought one bottle each of Rockabilly Blue and Vampire Red. I was going for a dark reddish purple. Mixed about 3/4 red and 1/4 blue. Applied, let sit for an hour. Despite the fact that I used only 1/4 of the blue in my mix it was what stained my hands (through the gloves!), sink (where I washed the mixing bowl) and my whole shower…I was shocked but honestly I don't care much about it being stained so I shrugged and on we go. Just a bit unfortunate that my whole shower floor is blue and my porcelain sink is as well. The color however turned out beautiful. I dyed over my natural dark brown hair and it made it slightly darker but a lovely rich purple/red. Exactly what I wanted. It does bleed really badly and will stain any white/light towels, sheets, hair bands/etc you might have. Now here's where something weird comes in…since I dyed it a week ago, every day I get my hair wet in the shower it smells AWFUL. Like, I immediately thought it smelled like a Porta-John. I even asked my husband the last few days to smell my wet hair and confirm that's what is smelling so bad and yes, it's my hair! It's so strange. I tried googling to see if anyone else has had the same problem but couldn't find anything so maybe it's just me? I'm giving it three stars because my hair looks and feels great, but I'll probably never use it again due to the excessive staining/bleeding and the weird smell.Alex

I received this product and was eager to trial it. There’s nothing quite like a colour touch up to make you feel a little more refreshed and energised! The product was super easy to use and everything needed was contained in one compact box. I followed the directions with ease and all progressed to plan. The end result was reasonably true to the desired colour although my hair did end up more orange than I had anticipated. I accept this can happen with hair colours because there are so many factors that contribute to the end result. The hair colour did address my primary concern – covering the dreaded greys! The smell was not offensive as can happen with some brands and I liked the fuss free application process. A major benefit is the convenience of doing this at home at a time that suits me and a cost that is budget friendly! I have had my colour now for a week and the colour at this stage is still looking fresh with great coverage. I would suggest that anyone with thick hair or very long hair should invest in two packets and not chance a dye disaster!! I have long hair but it is very thin so one packet for me was sufficient. I received this hair dye to trial as part of the Beauty Review Crew. I have used this brand of hair dye a few times over the past couple years. In particular, I have used the shade 'Darkest brown' which is the same shade I'm trialing today. The shade has always been is a lovely vibrant colour and the colour result is similar to my natural hair colour. The dye promises to 100% grey hair coverage and it lives up to its promise. Preparing the dye for application is nice and easy. After applying the gloves that are included in the packaging, you pour the colour formula into the bottle of developer before placing the lid back on and shaking the bottle until completely mixed. It's that easy! Then starting at the roots, you evenly apply the dye. The dye goes on smoothly and, surprisingly, the dye scent isn't as strong as other brands. Other brands tend to have a strong chemical smell which makes my eyes water and nose tingle when breathing it in. Clairol have done a great job at producing a hair product with a low scent. One of the best things about Clairol's nice n' easy hair dyes is the short processing times. Unlike other brands that have a processing time of upwards to an hour to reach your desired shade, these dye have an average processing time of just 25 minutes. The short processing time means you can dye your hair during your lunch break, before a night out, or before a date, without it taking up too much of your time. The rinsing process is also quite a smooth and easy process. After applying some warm water, give your hear/head a little massage and then rinse until the water runs clear from all the dye. It normally takes around two minutes for the water to run clear. Then using the conditioning Clairol conditioning treatment that comes with the hair dye, you apply from roots to tips and leave for a couple minutes before rinsing. The conditioning treatment has a lovely scent and is nice and thick. It's almost like applying a luxurious hair mask. It glides onto the hair smoothly and evenly. After rinsing the conditioning treatment you can instantly feel how hydrated you hair feels. Dying your hair often dehydrates it and your hair can feel a little worse for wear. Clairol's hair dyes are gentle on your hair and the conditioning treatment prevents damage and keeps your hair hydrated and feeling lovely. After towel-drying my hair, I blow-dried my hair until was dry. Looking in the mirror you could instantly see how vibrant and lovely the hair colour result was, and it looked and felt really healthy. I am always so very impressed with the results every time and I often get compliments from friends and family members. As my hair grows fairly quickly, I use this product every 2-3 months to help cover grey hairs. Despite dying my hair so regularly, my hair has remained healthy and manageable, and hasn't compromised my hair in any way. The only downside I can mention is that the dye stains your skin. Normally hair spray or acetone on a cotton ball or cotton pad helps remove hair dyes from skin but I found this dye to be lot stronger and barely budged from the skin. I also tried scrubbing with soap and dishwashing detergent but the dye only faded slightly. It took a few days of scubbing before the dye faded completely. The best thing of all about Clairol's Nice n' Easy hair dyes are they cost just $9 from your local supermarket. Sometimes, you can grab them on special for just $6! SIX BUCKS! Now that's what you call a bargain! Why pay $200+ t an expensive hairdresser when you can get almost the same results for just $9.Fallon G.

Staff Review by BC's Tamara I'm not going to lie – I have greys. Lots of them. But the Clairol Nice'n Easy Permanent Hair Dye did a mighty fine job of making them disappear! I have actually used this dye in the past, and can't recommend it enough. The range of colours on offer is wonderful as there is something there for everyone. I have dull brown hair, so usually opt for a warm shade to brighten my colour – I used the Medium Chestnut Brown 5RB. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and after spending 10 mins applying the product as thoroughly as I could, it took a simple 25 minutes to penetrate before washing it out and conditioning. The colour completely covered my greys (which was my main objective), but overall my hair looks so much healthier as it is shiny and the colour has more life to it. My favourite thing about this dye is that the colour brings out the natural highlights I have and it looks really natural. At $12.99 the Clairol Nice'n Easy is a bargain as it is a high quality product and I would recommend it!BC's Tamara C.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the only other reviewer for this product (Violet Ash) because for some reason, the color didn’t take at all. It was kinda there immediately after application, but after my first wash post-color it seemed to completely wash out. I actually came to this website to see how long I should wait before I can apply another shade. I’ve been a faithful user of Schwarzkopf since discovering it a few years back and every other shade is an easy 5/5. This color is a new release and it looks absolutely beautiful on the box, so I hope they are able to tweak the formula so it performs as well as the other shades they offer. I typically use a color within the 4 range so I anticipated that it might not show up on old growth, but I have a skunk stripe along my side part that is solid white and although it has a slight lavender hue under certain lighting conditions- there is no way anyone could tell I tried to cover my grays just a week ago. My hair is super shiny though… so this particular shade functions more as a glaze/gloss than a dye. *I would recommend and buy again, I already have my back up ready to go and I think Schwarzkopf has the best at home color products… just not this particular color. I dyed my hair bleach blonde at home, which turned my hair very yellow. So, I decided to go back to my light brown hair. I had a hard time deciding what brand and colour to use, especially because I was worried my colour would be greenish. So I purchased “sparkly light brown” and I love the colour ! My hair is not greenish at all and I think this is by far my favourite brown ever !! Also my hair is super soft and smells so good! I highly recommend if you are going from light to brown.Ella12345

Charcoal Fushia: I have dark brown hair with a 3 inch wide grey skunk formation from crown to back of skull. I look good in cool toned reds which are hard to find. Been using a high lift magenta that's fine for my long hair but doesnt cover grey n gives hot roots. I orderd this fushia and strand tested on grey bangline and bangs. Easy to use, easy to rinse, 0 bleeding, 0 scalp staining. When finished all grey was covered. It came out a beautiful medium darker bright cool toned red/fushia/magenta and left hair soft without conditioner. LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT ITChristy

My seven year old really wanted to color her hair but she is too young. So I found this and was like it sounds great! Washes out in one wash and is a simple spray. Well she looks super cute with the pink in her hair, however she also looked like a pink smurf! It got all over her face, neck, clothes and anything she laid on or touched with her hair! I ca!d home from work and we washed it out in 2 shampoo washes she was extremely upset but understood why. Plus in spraying her hair it got all over my gloves and not in a good way. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone!Nic

Just used this product yesterday, so I can't speak to how long it will last, but I've seen many negative reviews about it not coming out – I hope they're right! I was hoping for a dramatic change, but since I have medium-dark brown hair, I didn't get my hopes up too much. My hair is long-ish, so normally, it takes 3 boxes of dye, but one box of this one did the trick, which was a pleasant surprise. After applying and keeping it on for about 35-40 minutes (box recommends 30, but I was worried it wouldn't take), I washed it out. I couldn't see any difference in my wet hair at first and I was sure the only thing that ended up dyed was my scalp… However, after it dried, it looked AMAZING. It has this really cool effect where it can look totally different based on how the light hits it. It ranges from a natural dark brown with a hint of red in normal indoor lighting, to a deep and vibrant red/purple in the sunlight. Plus, my hair felt great after using it! I am very happy with this product. However, I absolutely would NOT recommend it for kids or someone who just wants a "one day" thing… semi-permanent is still not temporary!Karina

I'm not quite sure how other people are using this dye with light hair, but I have natural white/platinum hair and these colorista dyes are great. I use them on clean DRY hair that's washed at least a day previously with no conditioner as conditioner forms a barrier for dye absorption, and dry hair I find absorbs better than wet. I use a dye brush and often blend different colours for slight multi tonal effect and leave for at least 30 mins with a bag over hair. The colour is always great and lasts for weeks and leaves hair lovely and conditioned. The colour fades the more it's washed and I don't use conditioner when washing either as that fades the dye quicker. Using straighteners seals the colour in more too. And that's how my colour takes really well and lasts. I've noticed these dyes are getting a little harder to get hold of so i'm hoping L'Oreal isn't phasing them out.Tina54

Loved the name and the colour! Was all for it! the colour was absolutely beautiful in the beginning, but be aware!! Your skin and nails will be stained for days/ weeks to come every time you wash your hair. I had to use gloves, each time I washed my hair, or else I would look like princess Fiona. Lol . Even just scratching my head, or washing in the shower, by back and neck was stained. I only wash my hair about twice a week, but it still faded so quickly, after about 2 weeks blond was showing through on top, and I just didn't want to go through the staining process again, so used shampoo and baking soda, to fade it out quicker. I applied this color to very very light blonde hair (bleached — see starter photo). I left it on for maybe 40 minutes and washed it out with warm water and applied a color sealing conditioner. The color washed away immediately — but it did tone my hair and make it very light! This was kind of pretty on its own. I tried again after a couple of days and this time I left the color on for about 4 hours. I applied it and put a bag on my head and just went about my day in my house. After washing it out with COLD water and applying the conditioner the color turned out beautifully! Not sure how it will work out with longevity but I love it!ambirbler

I didn't approve or ask for this shade! I got starry black. I'm a natural blonde. In order for me to achieve black hair that doesn't turn green after the 1st wash,I would have to do a filler color first like a medium brown. I don't want to put all those chemicals on my hair. Plus I don't want black hair! I DID NOT USE THIS! I have used feria in the past though, I have used their bleaching kit and their auburn, red and black cherry shades. It is the only box dye I will use. It not only has an essential oil you add to it for a better smell but it also helps the hair feel softer and more hydrated as well as look shiny and healthy, well as healthy as dyed hair can look. For a box dye it's not bad. If I had gotten a color I approved of I totally would have used it! My daughter has medium golden brown hair and has been debating allowing me to use this on her. Ive used this brand of hair dye since the very first time I dyed my hair at age 15 and its always been my favorite. Ive tried other brands through out the years but nothing looks as intense or lasts as long as this brand does. The last year or so ive been using the power violets collection and they're so beautiful! I love how intense the color comes out and it doesnt strip my hair at all. Along with the products to dye your hair they also include a shampoo and conditioner which make my hair so super soft and shiny! I wish I could buy it in full size bottles but I dont think they make it. These dyes do have a strong scent you need to use them in well ventilated spaces. I usually have a fan going to help with air circulation. After using this dye I don't experience any bleeding of color on my skin or clothes. The color lasts for months on me before it really starts to fade. For reference I wash my hair once or twice a week. (But I shower more then that lol) I dye my hair around every 3-4 months. This is a great hair dye and I'll definitely continue to use it.katie.s

I saw this product on my IG feed that is was available at my local grocery store and was curious. I colored my hair purple back in July and recolored it maybe a month later. I tried a few color deposit shampoos from big brands such as ion (which left my hair more neon with a pink undertone) and even tried making my own color deposit by mixing semi permanent color with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner (which it does work). However, when I found this product and tried it, none of the other products stood a chance next to No Fade Fresh! Holy cow I was IMPRESSED! The color is extremely pigmented, the consistency is a bit thin, and the smell is just meh for me but it works! It does dry my hair out but I just put a leave in conditioner afterwards and it’s fine. This product works so well that my daughter wanted to try it out. She had some blue left over in her hair that faded to a green and some blonde highlights and when we added the purple it completely changed her look in a good way! It turned her blue/green into a dark blue/purple and her blonde into a purplish magenta making her hair look like a galaxy! It was so awesome looking! The color even remained in her hair after washing it and not reapplying. To say I’m impressed is an understatement! Because of this product I may continue to stay purple for awhile. I’m thrilled I found this product! I hope they come out with more fun colors!Rachel Buchanan
