I got this corded & cordless Panasonic telephone to replace my old telephone, because I was getting tired of robocalls and telephone solicitors. This phone has the ability to block up to 250 numbers, which will hopefully prevent all these unwanted phone calls. This phone is easy to set up. The numbers on the LCD base unit are large and easy to read. The cordless handset, announces the name of the caller, so you know who is calling before you answer. And once you decide where you want the corded base unit set in the house, you can then just plug the cordless phone in any other room and it becomes a second telephone with no additional wiring needed, just put in the rechargeable batteries and and youre good to go. It is hard to beat Panasonic, when it comes to telephones, they have been doing it so well, for so long. This is a great all-around corded telephone and cordless unit.stumoney

Returned the phone because the instructions were in small print and printed in grey. Much too hard to read. Also, found it extremely difficult to get additional handsets, even though it says you can purchase them. I needed four. It's everything I wanted!! Robocall blocker, Smart Call blocker keeps me from getting all those "Unknown" calls. I put the names & numbers of the people/companies I want to be able to call me in the directory & I just scroll to the number i want & pick up the phone! I had been getting approximately 20-30 unknown type calls a week. Since I connected this phone & programed it a week ago, I've gotten ZERO of those calls.A call comes, call blocker stops it from coming through (the display lights up.) I look at the CID & click on DIR, then down to BLOCKED list, press the button twice. That number can no longer even call me. Yay!!! Instructions tend to wander, there is a notation about screening the message while it is playing for the first time, but then it does not say it will happen every time. And sometimes it does not happen. The procedure to enter allowed callers is tiresome! It appears I must enter each caller by hand if I want to prevent them from having to press any button to be allowed to speak. The two portable handsets are easy and comfortable to hold and keep the charge while I gab a lot! Also, I did not see instructions on deleting the 'Missed Calls' count. I bought the set without answering machine. I am old fashion. I like my stand alone answering machine. I needed a phone with a good caller ID display. This phone is pretty good for that. Rather thick letters makes it easy to glance over at it and see who is calling. Sound quality is nice. Mine is connected using Spectrum's internet phone service. No issues so far.RD435

Great price and very easy to use. I keep one in my bedroom with the volume all the way down and the other in my living room. I love that I am able to hear the living room phone ring from anywhere in my house. I also like the size of the letters, easy for me to see and I don’t need to squint my eyes. The handsets are pretty sturdy and easy to keep clean. I also bought a set for my 81 year old mother. It is easy for her to read the name of the person or company calling. November 2017 I purchased the Panasonic Panasonic KX-TGD512, and this model appears to be almost identical. All of these Panasonic models appear to "operate" identically. I'm always looking online to get quick easy directions on "how to" block a "range of numbers" or free up more space to block new numbers, as I quickly used up the 150 numbers I was able to block using the phone. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ability to block numbers! After you add a number to be blocked (simple easy steps,) it rings one time then cuts them off! Today, for the third time, I added a "range" of numbers to block–I've been getting a lot of caller ID numbers that start with 011, I decided that because nobody I know or care to speak with has a telephone number starting with ZERO, that I would simply add that to the list, now anytime that "fake number" is put into that spammers calling system, they will be cut off–BAM! After about two years, because I tend to hit the off button multiple times when I hang up the phone (I don't know why, I'm weird) the red writing on the off button is about 85% worn off, and the green talk button is about 40% worn off. Maybe that is why they came up with a new model that looks almost identical to mine, maybe they've upgraded the imprinting of the answer on/off buttons. Regardless, I would recommend this phone to EVERYONE. Stop unwanted calls in their tracks! There are companies out there you can pay a few bucks a month to that will block unwanted calls for you–and their system works just the same, your telephone WILL ring one time, then disconnect them. When you fill up the block feature, just go in to the first 25 numbers you blocked and delete them, those people gave up a year ago! I went through my block list and noticed a specific area code coming up in my spam calls and went in and deleted all of THOSE numbers, then simply added that area code to the block list, thereby freeing up about 25 new slots for blocking. So if you notice a lot of your spam calls are coming from a specific area code and you don't know anyone with that area code, just block the entire range of numbers! Anyway, after enjoying the feature today once again, I thought, you really ought to let others know how great this phone is! So there you have it! Oh, I also love the ability to call my son who is located too far away on the other side of the house to just "yell out to" I simply use the intercom on the phone and buzz him. ONE CON about that is: the intercom that buzzes the other phones inside the house so you can call a family member on the phone who is in another room–is ALSO the phone locator, meaning, if you can't find your phone and you push the locate button to help you find the phone you laid down somewhere–it is going to buzz ALL the phones, therefore, if my son is taking a nap in his room and I buzz the phone, I will wake him up. And that locator button STILL beeps even if you have the ringer turned off. I finally learned to stop doing that when he is napping–when he is napping if I can't find the phone, I just call the phone with my cell to locate it. (his ringer is ALWAYS off, it is in his room simply to allow me to page him rather than get a little exercise by walking to the other end of the house. (heaven forbid!)Sherry56666

I needed a better phone as i have slight hearing loss . BIG lit buttons are a plus as needed for after dark calling or if your eye sight is poor. hand set feels as though it's made well. caller I.D. is a plus as my old phones didn't. has six volume levels ( i use #4 on speaker) i use level 2 if i have the phone to my ear. level 6 on speaker is so loud that it's very slightly garbled, but you can still hear it well. this phone has a lot of bells and whistles. 20 number speed dial. I like the fact that it uses 3 AAA nimh batteries. it takes about 12 hours of charging initially. then you have over 7 hours of talk time before having to recharge. the base has a" FIND" button in case you misplace the handset. i like this phone so much that i bought 2 extension phones of the same model. you do not need phone jacks for the extensions . only plug is for charging the handset.zee1000

This is an awesome cordless phone. All phones should be made like this! Easy to see, easy to use, the volume control is awesome! Pick your own favorite rechargeable batteries, and affordable too. A real blessing for Mom. I haven't used the answering system, but I'm betting it's just as awesome of quality as the rest. This phone coupled with a wired ear-set is perfect. You have control over the volume, turn it up or down, large easy to read buttons, even the alphanumeric labels are easy to see, excellent back-lighting, even lights well in bright daylight. Definitely an improvement! I have a blind uncle who has been having issues with his current phone. We needed a phone that had large buttons he could help feel for, comfortable in the hand, had the ability to track the phone from the base, and the ringer was loud so he could hear it throughout the house. This phone met all the criteria and is sturdy. We were having issues finding a phone that could meet all of our criteria and we were glad to have found this product. Bought this phone to replace my vintage on-the-wall princess phone I had hanging in my kitchen for decades—- the quality of the new phone is best described as poor. There is an inherent glitch in the design of the phone bc it kept falling out of it molded cradle designed to hold the handle in place in an upright position. The handle kept falling off the wall. The plastic was light weight and cheap. We just threw the entire phone in the trash bc it was not worth the effort of sending back via UPS or the post office. In short—- a piece of crap. I purchased this phone to assure I have phone service when the electricity goes out. I still have copper lines, so it should work for that purpose. Won't know until I lose power. Updated 2/4/18– Good phone– except I had a problem with programming the memory– I noticed that I could successfully program a 7-digit local number, but attempts to enter memory with an 11-digit long-distance number were unsuccessful. Other than that– great phone… loud/clear sound, pleasant ringer, and LOW cost. This would be a five-star if it weren't for the memory problem with 11-digits. The difficulty in adding a long number into memory is apparently due to my local telephone exchange interrupting with a recorded message: "If you would like to make a call….". This happens because they sensed the phone was "off the hook" with no dialing while attempting to add to the memory. This interruption causes the intended number to not be put into memory correctly. No problem with a local 7-digit number because you have enough time before the interruption. The solution– place the numbers into memory as fast as you can doing the seven steps required, and repeat until you have done it without getting the interruption (the time varies– 15 or 20 seconds).T.

The only great thing about this telephone so far is the ability to block 250 numbers. I'm finding out I lost some of the main things I liked about the system when I switched from my old Panasonic e.g., I had to enter 67 numbers one-by-one into the new phone's memory, there was no way to transfer my old phone book to the new phone; there is no longer a blinking light on each handset to alert me that I have a message which was extremely helpful, I have to remember to check the base phone (which is out of the way when I enter the house), to see if there are messages; I now have to press a combination of numbers to Erase messages, before when a message was played, "Erase" appeared on the screen so that you could do it easily. There are less options that I had grown used to…so I basically paid big bucks just to be able to block 250 numbers, not happy about the limited functionality of this Cordless Set.VENUS

This Panasonic telephone is definitely better than the Panasonic phone it is replacing. The range is close to 100 feet from the base, but not the advertised range. Still, I can hear and talk on the phone in my woodshop behind my house. Electrical wiring does cause some interference in the walls at 80 feet away, but stepping over 1-2 feet solves that problem. Definitely an improvement. The other phone did not reach the woodshed past the door at all. It also has an optional range extender for another $50.00 approximately. Might be helpful if interference gets frustrating, but did not buy it yet.Rusty

I love t his product. I already had an earlier model of this type of phone, but it had smaller phonebook and blocked caller list sizes. Now, I have space to spare to add more numbers to my phonebook and can block up to 250 callers. My only concern is that the blocked callers remain in the caller history (marked as blocked), whereas on my previous system they were in a separate list that I could edit. I prefer the separate list, but am adjusting to this new approach. The new base and handsets also each have a CALL BLOCK button to make blocking a caller more efficient 😉Ruth

I had one of these for 10 years but now everything has changed on it. Led lightning is terrible so dark. Numbers and buttons on it so small. I should of bought the phone back but I guess I didn’t feel like going through the aggravation. I probably should of paid more. This was 65.00.Joyce

I got this cordless phone for my 98 y/o Mother, who has bad eyesight, and bad hearing. The display is easy to read, with black numbers and letters, against a white illuminated background. She likes it as much she likes anything! At 98 that's saying something! I would recommend buying. Panasonic has always had the best cordless phones, from my personnel experience.Larry

We replace an old wall unit which was originally hung just above the counter and under a cabinet. Unfortunately, this new handpiece was just a couple of inches too tall when we put it on the cradle. We were able to attach the wall piece to the old plate by attaching it to the screw in the middle instead of on the top of the plate, then pushing excess wiring underneath to secure it. Best we could do and it works fine.Pamela

This Panasonic phone system works great for your home office. I've used this model for years and it works well. (my last set got fried in a power serge). My only comment is that this produce was listed as new in the box but in fact it was used. the system is great for anybody with a cell phone and land line. mine works great with magic jack and my cell phone. I bought a second set for my sister and brother in law , only to find out they do not have a land line . They still use the 4 handset throughout the house ,which add's 5 stations for the cell phone Just don,t use the base station…..,this system without the base because it also works with blue tooth from the phone. The Panasonic KX-TG985 Phone has FANTASTIC call blocking. The only blocking feature the is problematic is that the system checks the blocking list before the allowed phonebook list; i.e. if an area code is blocked and a number with that area code is in the phonebook it will be blocked. When a call comes in the caller rings twice before the 985 starts to ring or announce the caller. This becomes an issue when a cell call comes through as the cell phone will play its message before you can pick up with the 985. The audio using the handset is adequate, but not exceptional. The speakerphone audio is HORRIBLE at best, it sounds like an old 1940s phonograph on all 5 handsets. If you use the speakerphone, this is NOT the system for you. The handset range is exceptional and it does connect and utilize the old kx-tga405 Range Extender which is cheaper than the one recommended for the TG985. Although the handset charger has the same part number as the chargers for the TG7875, they are physically built differently and will not work with the TG985. The cell phone compatibly list consists of about 50 cell phones from eight (8) manufacturers. None of the latest cell phones are listed and Panasonic tech "support" says ones not listed may or may not work or maybe some functions may not work.Kensch888

I purchased this phone for my mother who is 89, hard of hearing and has loss of eyesight. It did take me a while to program. I had to watch a you tube video as instructions weren’t that great. That’s the reason for 4 stars. Buttons are nice and big, and volume can be set very high. I think she will have trouble playing back answering machine until she memorizes those buttons as they are small. I wish cards were included to wright names on and place where pictures would go. I bought this phone (online) for my mother, who is a senior, because of the many useful features. I was shocked when it arrived to realize that photos cannot be digitally uploaded. In fact, that is not a digital display on the phone – you need to cut out and attach physical photos to the speed dial buttons! The specs say you can "attach" photos, which is the common way to refer to uploading a digital photo. In addition, there is no clear way to access saved numbers, aside from the 8 buttons. What if a person has more than 8 contacts? For all of the technological benefits of this phone, there should be a digital screen for easy access to multiple contacts. It's absence should be explicitly stated in the online information, particularly since it's difficult to determine this from an online photo.Disappointed

I bought this to relace the similar system of the same brand that I had purchased in 2003. I decided to upgrade to a newer system when I realized that 3 replacement batteries for the old one cost almost as much as a new system. I charged the phones overnight and skimmed though the manual to see if anything was vastly different than what I was used to. It all works pretty much the same. The nexy day, I plugged the new system into the phone line, recorded a message, set the date and time and was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I'm pleased with the price, ease of set up, convenience of use and overall ooeration.Retired

Decent basic cordless phones – does the job! Wish the range for the docking stations was better as the one in our basement won’t connect. Also has an annoying (or helpful depending how you look at it) feature of loudly announcing “low battery” repeatedly when down to one bar if it’s not on charger. This telephone has about twice functionality I was looking for. I needed to replace my current desk phone with one that had an intercom and a clear speaker function. I purchased a rival phone for 1/2 half the price of this one, but in three months it stopped functioning (couldn't get a dial tone, just a open line). Incredibly, replacement phones from the same manufacturer also had the same problem, which has never been fully explained. I ordered a phone from another manufacturer, which took so long to fulfil the order I canceled it! This phone is excellent–crystal clear speaker and I love the push-to-talk function. My only complaints are (1) it doesn't have a speed dial function (!!–incredible for a phone with so much functionality) and (2) I would like to be able to display the time/date as the default display on the screen. Nevertheless, I'm very pleased with the phone, the extra cost for some functionality that I will probably never use was worth it to get a phone that works as well this one does.CEfan

Purchased ATT 2-line corded/cordless phone due to price & product. Main phone base works well, after 4 weeks cordless handheld does not function to dial out, receive calls, scan messages, or hold battery charge, etc. Expected better from AT&T. The phone works good just a few things I don't like. 1) if you answer the phone and someone else picks up the cordless to answer, you can hear each other answer. The other phones I had only let one answer the call the other one the phone would be dead depending on who picked up first. 2) My line 1 always says voicemail and I have NO messages. I myself have even left a message just to see and I can not get messages on the answering machine. 3) the cordless phones seem to drop my calls during the call and it cuts off my customers. After searching a whole week for a good phone to buy I stumbled across the Samsung Galaxy A52, and purchased on a Metropcs Store, the phone box was completely sealed clean with no scratches, transfering my old sim card to the new phone was easy, and there was no issues when restoring all of my contacts, or when downloading old apps. The phone is fast, it has a really good camera quality, and a lot of memory space. It supports games that my old Samsung A20 couldn't and the life battery lasts much longer. With my new phone I am able to take incredible pictures and videos for my school projects The camera focuses quickly, and I absolutely love the portrait option. I wish that it was available in Video, but as for now the portrait mode helps me not have to pay for photoshop in order to blur the background . Call quality is also amazing, the first time I made a phone call I was impressed with how good and clear I could hear the other person. The volume range is perfect, It is loud enough for me to play videos or movies in a room and still be audible enough for the people all the way in the back without distorting the audio The navigation buttons are customizable and so is the theme, the password options are excellent, and I absolutely adore how there is an option to choose locations in which you do not need to put your password to unlock your phone. I only have 2 issues that make my experience with this phone be a 8/10 and not a 10/10. The first one would be that bluetooth didn't work properly for me, I attempted to connect wireless headphones that i was able to connect to my old Samsung A20, but the name of them never appeared no matter how many times I pressed scan or recharged my headphones, I even tried to restart the phone and connect the headphones to another device to make sure the headphones worked properly. It does Connect to my samsung watch and to speakers properly but for some reason not to wireless headphones. My second issue is that when i attempt to download the IN-N-Out associate app it takes me to playstore and tells me that I have no internet connection, even when I have my mobile data on, or when I am connected to wifi, unlike my old Samnsung A20 where I downloaded the app without any issues and never had any sort of problem with playstore. Overall I am Content with the product and maybe I just got a defective one, if someone is looking for a fast and easy to use phone with great storage, and camera quality I would recommend this phonePriscilla

I won't mince words. I hate the Samsung A53. Photos are unbelieveable difficult and every picture shows blurry movement. The device is unbalanced in the hand with the 5 camera lenses bulging from the back. Sound is cheap and tinny. Size is designed for very large hands. The camera is difficult, poor quality, and useless. I loved my previous Samsung 5S for 6 years. I was told to replace it because it no longer received updates. I was sent to BestBuy for another Samsung. The bottom 1/3rd of the touch screen is unresponsive to touch and won't allow me to answer an incoming call. I have to return all incoming calls myself. There are so many defects with this device, beginning with turning it on. There is no way to turn on the phone screen except to use the very hard to push impossibly thin button on the right side which will break due to constant need to use the button rather than a screen swipe to turn on method. I hate this phone and do not recommend it.Unhappy

The hardware is good but I bought it to mod and it would appear the US version (even the unlocked XAA version) will never show the "OEM Unlock/ing" option in Developer Options (even though it's Exynos not Snapdragon and even though the European equivalents do). Samsung, feel free to contact me otherwise (even if it means I have to give up the warranty), otherwise this will be my last Samsung phone/hardware (if I don't return it… it's not too late, if I do then my Note 8 was my last one). The hardware is decent but I'm not willing to give up software flexibility like I did on the Note 8 (this is strike 2 and you won't get a 3rd). I haven't decided whether to keep or return this (but getting OEM unlock on it would sway me into keeping it and revising my rating). I got it on sale and could use it as a backup to my primary driver which is the only reason I haven't definitely returned it already. Samsung: for the most part you make good hardware (I don't need nor want an edge curved screen which breaks easier and offers no benefit, and I DO want an SD card slot and 3.5mm jack), but your software is too bloated and I have no interest in your ecosystem. Allowing OEM Unlock would allow expert users to "fix" your software shortcomings but you appear to be blocking that now even on unbranded devices at full price. Continuing to lock your bootloaders means you've permanently lost a customer (and since I'm most people in my sphere of influence's IT guy, you've lost my recommendation to all of them).SS84

Grandma just couldnt remember to push the button on the fancy cordless to hang up, no matter what. Her memory is shot, resulting in endless busy signals and needless worry that she was lying on the floor somewhere. These traditional instruments were the solution. Hard to find these anymore in reliable condition unless new. Shes tethered by the cord to the base, but so what? I got the VTech phones and have been using them for about a week. They were extremely easy to get set up. I just had to take them out of the packaging, plug everything thing in, and charge it. I did look over the instructions, because that’s what I usually do. I would not have had to do that to set them up. I played with the different settings in the menu just to do it. Setting the time and date were easy. The handsets have good sound quality. I haven’t noticed that “echo” sound you sometimes get with cordless phones. Overall, I’m very happy with the VTech phones. The Vtech Cordless Telephone CS6114 with two handsets is fast and easy to setup. The Cordless phone can be wall mounted or desk top mounted. Each handset has a model number and serial number in the battery compartment. The package is complete with everything to get the user up and running fast. Follow the abridged user’s manual with the product. The instructions are easy to read and detailed. A complete user’s manual can be downloaded from the manufactures website. To start installation the batteries for the handsets do need charging, takes about 16 hours. This is a good time to look over and read the abridged user’s manual and to become familiar with it. Each feature is covered and how to use them in the manual. Keep the user’s manual handy for a while until you are familiar with the product. Then place it in a safe place. The phones do not have voice mail. I would recommend this to friends.norris47

I've been using a VTech CS6114 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone System (without Digital Answering System). I find it to be a basic but capable phone. The positives for me are that I find the he voice is clear and I like the light up at night during use feature. The set up is easy and the cords are long enough for me. It holds enough speed dial numbers for my personal needs. The instruction sheet is simple yet thorough. It's nice looking, it's lightweight plus it's comfortable to use/hold. The negatives for me are that there's no speakerphone feature, no light up or blinking indicator of received voicemail messages, and that the screen looks so pale and faded out that it's a bit hard to read. It DOES show received voicemails on the screen but to just look over at the phone when I come in there's no indication of a voicemail…I have to literally walk over and look at the phone to see if I've received any. And lastly the volume ringer selection doesn't allow it to go higher….it goes up 3 notches like low, medium and high would be but on the highest setting it just isn't loud enough when I'm in other parts of the house, or in the basement or right outside. Is it me? I find this phone annoying and I've been seeking a replacement but everything is very cheap lightweight insubstantial materials these days (unless I'm just not spending enough). Among the many annoyances is that, when going thru options (remotely), there is nothing that says, "For x, press 1; for y, press 2; for z press 3." Instead it's a one-by-one method of, "To play messages press 1; for other options press 2." If you're not just playing messages, you must press 2 to get just one other operational option. You're to press 1 for that next option, but if that option is not what you want, you must press 2 for other options" and on and on. In general the use, options, programming seems a bit complicated. Also I don't like the numbers so large that, if I'm looking at a phone number, instead of seeing it as (xxx) xxx-xxxx I am seeing a 10-digit chain of continuous numbers which don't fit on the little screen and wrap around the last 3 digits onto the next line. So I'm seeing xxxxxxx with the remaining 3 numbers directly underneath that. It's not clear for easy recognition of phone numbers as the formatting is not broken up into the usual sequence. Also, the box did not say "remote access" and I had to spend time online looking at endless ads and product descriptions and had to buy the thing, open up the box and read the tiny pamphlet of instructions to see that in fact there is remote access to messages.Pam

I own a very similar 4 extension Panasonic. I bought this a few weeks ago as I have no phone jacks in my office. I plug directly in to the router. My office is around 2,000 sqft and the phone works perfectly at opposite ends of the office. I would highly recommend this system to anyone.Jwhitmore

We've had this new phone with digital answering system and satellite cordless phone for about one week and have been very pleased with its performance. We are blocking calls from unrecognized numbers, and unwanted phone calls have virtually ceased. The sound quality of the recorded messages is excellent. The cordless handset maintains connection with its base station everywhere in our large apartment. Very satisfied with this purchase.Beltway Dweller

this phone does not have a speaker phone. if you're like me and just assume all cordless phones have speaker phones, you'll be disappointed. other than that it's a nice phone it's lightweight it charges and works great. I just require a speaker phone option.Nunya

My very old panasonic version of this phone would not accept charge, I saw this and since it seemed very similar, I bought it. A lot of plastic and missed the speakerphone option of my old house phone. For the price its a good buy if you want something to talk on and answer calls for you on landline. Easy set up and use. But very limited options. No speaker and volume is very low on its highest setting. But for landline system. Works fine. If this is your only phone I would say DONT BUY IT! Upgrade and spend a little more for better quality for chatting on.colinda

I cant seem to find the older version of this (black and silver w/ green screen) which was one of the best phones I've ever owned, so we got this one. This one seems ok but both my husband and I like the old one better. I can't p[ut my finger on the performance differences but it just feels cheaper and less responsive, but I can't prove it empiricallyKathryn
