Smells amazing and is easy to apply. Unfortunately that's where the good in my review ends. I bought the Magic Salem and pastel Iris colors and honestly? I wasn't impressed. They don't last (pastel Iris has only lasted one wash, Magic Salem – which was quoted to last 3 weeks – only lasted 3.) Not to mention, Magic Salem is their purple, but it came out blue rather than purple. And to make matters worse, the dyes faded super poorly? It looked awful.

I love Lunar Tides. The salon I go to for my highlights use this product. I also purchase this as a consumer for at home use in between salon visits. The dyes are super vibrant. A big plus is that Lunar Tides are vegan and cruelty free. I like mixing colors to make different shades. These are semi-permanent so they will wash out. I recommend washing your hair with cold water and use Watercolor Shampoo for whatever color your hair is. I bought 4 dyes from Lunar Tides: Juniper Green, Aurora Green, Pastel Iris, and their toner. the toner worked great, I loved it! however the dyes are absolutely terrible. I read so many reviews before buying from them and the only “bad” thing I could find was that it was runny and messy. the hair dye I received is almost a gel consistency, not runny at all. my hair was platinum blonde before I dyed it with juniper green. it is very dark in the container, but bright green on the hair; this was my first red flag. I kept hoping it would be darker when I washed it out but obviously it was lighter. my hair was joker green. I figured this was my fault for toning my hair and thought maybe that could be the issue. however, I also dyed part of my hair with the Pastel Iris. in the container, it looks like a darker purple (the shade you think of when I say purple) so I assumed it would be darker than I expected; it was not. it went on the hair very light, looked very similar to the toner. after I rinsed it out (with cold water as you should) the color was BARELY there. it looked like I left toner on for a little too long. again, I figured this was my fault for ordering a pastel dye. HOWEVER, I just washed my hair for the first time since dying it (it has been exactly ONE week) and the color is completely gone. the part that was dyed purple has absolutely no color in it. this was after ONE WASH. there is absolutely no reason for my hair to be blonde right now. I’m trying to grow out my highlights & “embrace the grey” but have a bit of fun with temporary colour while I do so. I bought this product after a lot of internet research. Did my patch test, this is a “natural” product, no ammonia, parabens etc so was hopeful. All ok & did a couple of strand tests too. Ready to go! PLEASE make sure you wear gloves, mask around your face, ears & neck with a barrier cream, rinse hair out over a sink or bath. DON’T shower it off over your body! You will look like a Smurf! I wanted to temporarily colour my hair for the start of the football (soccer) season. I left the blue on for about 2 and a half hours & the purple & pink for about an hour and a half. I wrapped my head in cling film in case it dripped, it’s a nice thick gel, so I don’t think it would but better safe that sorry. It smells fruity so no stinky head while you wait. I loved the result! My hair felt soft & moisturised, still does. I knew the blue wouldn’t last as long, red tones grip better, so after 2 weeks & 13 double shampoo washes, the blue has almost gone but the pink & purple is going strong. I still get purple hands while showering but no skin transfer so all good. I forgot to take a before so the first photo is after the strand test but you can kind of see my highlighted, grey & mousey “before” hair. Second & third photos are a day after colouring. Fourth & fifth is to show how the pink & purple have washed out & the blue is almost gone after a lot of washes. If you want a longer lasting semi permanent colour, I would highly recommend this product! Love this product!! Used for over 10 yrs now. Use Vaseline around ears and edges of face to keep stains off skin. Nail polish remover will do the rest. I have black hair and it will only show on porous strands such as bleached or blonde – otherwise it has no where to go and will stain things as it comes off. What I love is that it DOES stain which means as it fades out you still have color stained hair until it fades to a more pastel color. Keeps from having to do all the time. I use gloves to apply liberally. Smells delicious! I then wrap in a cap (plastic bag will work, too) and let it stay on as long as I can- note that this method almost blends into my black hair until a first couple washes. Also note that I would lay a towel over my pillow until the first couple washes. Also, note that I use a special towel for drying bc color will come off the wet hair. Also note that I don't wear white or swim until after the first couple of washes. It's a stronger look than a salon color and lasts a VERY long time. I’ve been using Punky Colors since they were originally called ‘Jerome Russell Punky Colours’. I am a professional hairstylist and I love these non-pro colors for solid colors. Cherry on Top is the perfect bright warm red. It’s bright, it’s true to shade, and there isn’t a hint of cold undertone. That’s why I prefer to use Cherry On Top paired up with the diluting clear to create my pastel pinks in warmer colors than the actual Pink Flamingo or Pastel line. It lasts longer and looks like bubblegum. Yes, this color bleeds. A lot. It is a high concentrate of pigment which helps it last longer on bleached hair and coat non-bleached hair. My suggestion to a lot of you is to get a black towel and black pillowcase so you won’t ruin anything! Always wear gloves. And just rinse it the best you can before adding any shampoo. Shampoo is what makes the color spread all over the tub and stain it. Even if you do stain the tub, most porcelain tubs it will wear off. I used this for the first time this week. I really like the shade. The trick to getting a good application is to make sure you shampoo your hair before application so it’s damp and why residue/build up is gone, which can make the color not adhere to your hair. Remember, semi-permanent coats the surface of your hair, not the cuticle, so you want it as clean as possible. this stuff is AMAZING!! So I have been on the grey silver hair trend (well trying to get there at least) lol and the stuff is a lifesaver! I couldn't get the darn brass out of my hair and it was driving me crazy! tried almost everything! My last option was toning but after all the bleaching I didn't want to use chemicals… this saved my life and turned my pale yellow to a beautiful silver after one wash with a little bit in my shampoo! then I shadow tried with it full strength! no brass slightly profile like I wanted (only in the sun and thats because I left it on as little longer to achieve the purple silver look). For a back story I am a natural sandy brown and my hair is in a mohawk currently. So I purchased the iroiro neon blue and first I did a bleach kit as I mention darker natural hair as I wanted to get the full effects of the neon. So bleached first then onto the color. I applied the color and left it on for 45 minutes so that i would get the bright vibrant blue i wanted. 45 minutes later i wash dye out under cold water as warm will fade it, didnt want that. However I have been dying hair for 20+years so I'm experienced and know what I'm doing. I am almost a week out and I literally look like I used one of the 1q 0 washes dye because I havent washed it yet but it looks as if I've pretty much combed it right out. This is by far the worst hairdye I have ever used. I've used numerous brands and numerous different colors and I will never purchase this brand again. Ive used multiple Iroiro colors by now (Plum, Pink, Yellow, and one of the blue colors) and I love them. The smell is FANTASTIC, my hair feels great, and the price is worth it. The pouches are so convenient and much easier than having to shake the last bits of dye in a squeeze bottle (aka Arctic Fox). Also the colors, especially pink, last a good while and fade nicely. This product worked wonderfully. I used L’Oreal colorista for brunettes to make a conditioner to put on my hair first. This is a true burgundy plum on medium brunettes. It came out so red I was impressed. Not that messy imo. My only regret is that this color looks better when I’m pale in winter. Can’t wait to tone it with a true violet. So far Amika violet toning drops are helping make it a bit less extreme. Great color payoff, environmentally friendly packaging, minimal damage. This pink is NOT pastel any sense of the word! If this is pastel then I’m madonna ( I’m not). I had bleached out my my hair till level 10 was super excited To use this as I’ve had my hair every color of the rainbow and pastel pink is one of my favorites. I Checked my hair in about 10 minutes since it was so Highly pigmented. The dye did appear dark out of the bottle but that happens often and it doesn’t mean it’s the final color so I wasn’t really concerned. When I checked my hair 10 minutes in it was bright pink and when I say bright I’m talking about neon signs a blazing bright! Now I have nothing against neon pink hair it just doesn’t look right with my skin tone and it’s not the color I was going for. I honestly would not recommend this to anyone if they are looking for a pastel pink or even a light pink… a true pink …:magenta pink. The only time I would tell someone to go ahead and use this is if they want neon pink bright neon pink it does not wash out of your hair anytime soon. It does say 5 to 30 washes but let’s put it this way I ended up having to bleach my hair out again to get it out . So all in all I would never use it again I give it to storage because I mean the quality of the dye was very good for a direct dye color was vibrant he lasted quite a long time but it wasn’t the color it had Represented itself to befabianna.t
All the people complaining in the comments either are too impatient or have no skill at all. I suck at dying my hair but it took little effort to dye my whole hair. Not to mention I am latina! I have the thickest hair you have ever seen ! This thing is ammmazimg. I have tried other brands and they never washed off and ended up leaving the color on my hair for months. This is affordable and works if you want something temporary or like to change colors all the time without damaging it. This brand has never dried my hair out btw. The best thing about this is a little goes a long way & it is highly pigmanted. When I had hair up to my lower wings it was able to cover all of it. You just have to be patient! I like to keep my hair a pretty shade of light purple/lilac. While I was shopping at Walmart, I saw a few bottles of . on sale. My hair had been looking pretty blah lately, so I decided to try it out. I liked the fact that it was a "PASTEL" shade of purple, cruelty free vegan, and also was super strong and took as little as 10 minutes to fully develop. I brushed it onto the bottom half of my hair, which had been previously bleached numerous times in the past. I left it on for just over 2 hours, which I normally do with semi-permanent dyes like this (dyes like Manic Panic I leave on for even longer and blow dry for best results!). When I saw the color of the dye itself, I was SO excited! It was SUCH a beautiful shade of purple! Not dark, or harsh in any way, but it reminded me of cupcakes or sprinkles. What I got was a whole other story! My hair turned out SO dark! I only left the dye on so long to deposit the color, I never thought it would turn such a deep, dark, totally random color. I'm so disappointed in it, but everyone else thinks that it's the right color and I get a lot of compliments. I've washed it once so far and while it has lightened drastically, it hasn't lightened to a pastel anything, it's just a faded version of the super dark purple. I can't complain about it too much though, because it was a random purchase, and I only paid $3 a bottle and it only took 2 bottles. When using this you have to be super careful, because it stains everything around you quickly and permanently! It stains things much worse than other dyes like it that I have used. I also don't think they should necessarily call it a "pastel" purple, because straight out of the tube it is a much more brighter, more vivid purple than a pastel, and the color it made my hair is nowhere near a pastel. I would probably only recommend this dye to people who don't expect their dye to last a long time or change their hair color a lot, or it could be maybe good for someone dying their children's hair because it seems like it washes out pretty easily. Loved the name and the colour! Was all for it! the colour was absolutely beautiful in the beginning, but be aware!! Your skin and nails will be stained for days/ weeks to come every time you wash your hair. I had to use gloves, each time I washed my hair, or else I would look like princess Fiona. Lol . Even just scratching my head, or washing in the shower, by back and neck was stained. I only wash my hair about twice a week, but it still faded so quickly, after about 2 weeks blond was showing through on top, and I just didn't want to go through the staining process again, so used shampoo and baking soda, to fade it out quicker. I applied this color to very very light blonde hair (bleached — see starter photo). I left it on for maybe 40 minutes and washed it out with warm water and applied a color sealing conditioner. The color washed away immediately — but it did tone my hair and make it very light! This was kind of pretty on its own. I tried again after a couple of days and this time I left the color on for about 4 hours. I applied it and put a bag on my head and just went about my day in my house. After washing it out with COLD water and applying the conditioner the color turned out beautifully! Not sure how it will work out with longevity but I love it!ambirbler
This dye worked exceptionally well, but almost a bit too much! For this color at least I think I used a bit too much for my hair (a little under half of the container), as it took 4-5 washes for it to run clear. The dye as well wound up staining my fingernails and shower quite a bit, which took some substantial cleaning to make sure it didn't stain too much. I'm extremely happy with the final results of the color itself, and very glad there was no issues with odor or stinging like traditional dyes, so I'll likely be purchasing again. I'd just recommend using gloves for when washing, not just application, and potentially use less dye than you think you need at the start!

As someone who dyes their hair quite frequently, Manic Panic is always my go-to dye brand. So far, I have used Ultra Violet, Vampire Red (the color shown here), and Hot Hot pink. As a semi-permanent dye, it washes out quicker than permanent dyes typically do, but re-applying it when needed is super easy. Purple and pink for instance, tends to wash out quicker than red in my experience. After a week or two of washing hair daily, the purple and pink are almost completely gone. Vampire Red has seemed to last longer, however, and even after several weeks my hair is still tinted a slight pinkish-orange color unlike the other colors which leave no evidence of ever being dyed after a few weeks. To make the color last longer, I like to wash my hair and then put a shower cap on for the rest of the duration so that the water doesn't hit it the entire time, which seems to do wonders for keeping it vibrant for a little while longer. All of Manic Panics colors are super vibrant and I love that they do not have ammonia or some of the other damaging chemicals that most other dyes have. I would definitely recommend this brand for anyone who is interested in trying out a funky new do.BulldogLover
I use to love manic panic hair dye and have dyed my hair so many times with their products. However this product dyes everything it touches and I've spent many hours removing everything it has stained in the bathroom. It has unfortunately stained my entire shower as well as my skin. It's been over a week since I've dyed my hair and the dye is still bleeding on everything. I am now researching how to remove hair dye and booking myself in to the salon to remove the colour. Unfortunately due to this terrible experience I am reluctant to buy Manic Panic again. I'm aware that Manic Panic tends to bleed more than other dyes but from using their products for almost a year, I've never experienced anything like this.Charlie_09
This was the very first time I tried manic panic of any kind, and as far as the company and product itself goes, I'm definitely going to get more! Unfortunately, however, I wish they'd properly advertise how the colors will show up on brown hair. This color shows up completely green (dark green) on my hair (which is normally identical to the dark hair on the chart). Despite what I expected, the green was more than fine by me, so I added some more to my hair. If this were the only problem, I would have left 4 stars. The nice, dark, almost metallic green color left behind only lasted about 3 days afterwards. 3 days and two washes later it was virtually all gone. I know they advise bleaching to get the best color, but if they know it won't work well on darker hair, then maybe they should stop advertising it for darker hair, or at least add honest photos of how it'll actually look rather than just photoshopping a blue layer over brown hair. If I got a different color better suited for my natural hair color, there's no doubt in my mind I would leave a 5 star review for that. The product itself was very easy, left my hair soft and undamaged, and surprisingly didn't stain as badly as I expected. So bottom line, yes, I would recommend, but ONLY if your hair is light. I barely used 1/4 of one of the containers to do my whole head! To be fair, I have brown hair with a bleached streak that was a patchy purple because the last dye I used washed out in some parts but not others (plus a past split dye that caused one half of the ends of my hair to be a light brown while the other is darker), so perhaps that could be why. I applied a pretty good amount to my whole head but especially my bleached area and so a little goes on a long way! It added a red tinge to my dark brown (mahogany vibes), turned the light brown to a pretty dark red, and the bleached streak is a bright red that looks beautiful. Dude, this is the BEST semi permanent hair color I have ever used. In 2018, I suddenly became allergic to regular dyes (PPD and some other unknown ingredients), and was unable to use traditional dye methods. When I say allergy, I mean SEVERE reaction… swollen head, eyes, lymph nodes in my neck. Needed emergency care for the reaction. Luckily for me, I don't have an allergy to bleach (probably because there's no pigment) and was relying on the only coloring agent I didn't have an allergy to, OverTone (I tried Arctic Fox, Manic Panic, and even Henna to no avail). I saw Brad came out with his own color and wanted to give it a try. I am happy to say that I have had ZERO allergic reaction to it and the color deposits so much more beautifully than my previously used products. Minimal bleeding when rinsing as well! Super happy. I wanted to love this hair dye so much, but sadly it just didn't work for me. Based on the reviews of others, I'm guessing it has something to do with my hair..?? Anyway, here are the problems I had: 1. Despite Brad's claims, one pot was not enough for my whole head. I don't have crazy hair. It's curly, barely below my shoulders, normal thickness normal density. I got 3/4 of my head dyed before it ran out. 2. Something about the product made my hair feel almost gummy… even when dry.. weeks later. It threw off my curl pattern and my hair was not greasy but something was off. I could tell it was the product because the top 1/4 didn't get dyed so I had a good comparison haha. My hair has gone back to normal now but I had a month of bad hair days which sucked. 3. Since I ran out of product, I ordered a second pot the day I dyed my hair. By the time the second pot arrived a few days later, (never shampooed, only rinsed with water) the majority of my pink had rinsed out. 4. While parts washed out so fast, I'm left a month later with the weirdest splotches of pink throughout my hair. Like two spots above my ears… so odd. If you've used color like this before and you know it works, I bet this product is great! I wouldn't recommend it if you are new to dying your own hair or if you have natural curls.Abbey

I got this color after a good talk with a rep @ Salon Centric, I wanted a cute color but not too distracting bc of work. She picked this purple for me but I never committed till recently! I got a more blunt mullet and I figured I deff need a color to match the edge and this was insanely pigmented 😻 so glad this was the color she recommended bc it wasn’t muted but also not a neon green scary color. I was scared it would be more dark but did it anyway and it wasn’t at all it was a super saturated purple …a blueish purple for sure. I went to the beach and it of course took most of the color out BUT it faded nicely and I had about 4 shampoos of decent color after that beach trip! This is such a unique pink!!! For platinum hair only – this would never work on darker hair as it's borderline pastel. Probably the same level of pigment as another popular brand's cotton candy pink color. But this one has like a warmer tone that is SO unique I've been dying my hair crazy colors for 10 years and have never seen a shade like this. I can't even describe it accurately but it's a neon pastel leaning almost coral-ish… ok it's not coral but a warm neon pastel pink? Only bleached platinum will show this as the true color. Darker blonde than platinum I do not know as I haven't tried. Also I LOVE the container! It's like the iro one. So easy to squeeze out every drop and convenient flip top.
I am always changing my hair color so I am always willing to try a new hair color product. The NATURALS SEMI-PERMANENT HAIR COLOR is a really good product. It was easy to apply, instructions were straightened and after application, my hair felt silky and moisturized. The purple color was not bright, it was a nice plum purple color and it looked really nice in my hair once my hair was dried and blown out. I highly recommend this hair color product.

I have never used any Splat products in the past and I was excited for the opportunity to try Splat Naturals Teal Semi Permanent Hair Color. The hair color came in a pouch and the product was ready for use. I liked that I didn't have to mix any ingredients like I have to do with other semi permanent hair color products. I did not receive any gloves to use with the Splat Naturals Teal Semi Permanent Hair Color but I had a pair on hand and I greatly recommend using gloves with this product. The hair color does stain the skin and takes several washes to remove the stain. Splat Naturals Teal Semi Permanent Hair Color is easy to use. The product has a great consistency of thickness; it's not too watery or too thick, it's just right to apply to hair without worrying about dripping or running. The hair color also doesn't have a strong chemical smell like other hair color products I have used in the past, which is nice. The smell is more natural and not overwhelming. Once applied, the color needs to sit on the hair for 60 minutes to process and assure that the color sets into the hair. The product is easy to wash once the color is processed. Splat Naturals Teal Semi Permanent Hair Color is supposed to last up to 30 washes and it definitely does. There are some pros and cons with this product. Originally when I picked the color off the lime crime website it looked more like a tan neutral almost with subtle hints of peach close to nude color, and then when it arrived and the I swatched it – it was so far from what it looked like on the website? Hence why I usually don’t like purchasing make up mostly “lipsticks” online. However, I was extremely surprised how beautiful it was with little to no make up on and just very light mascara and lashes and how beautiful it went with my pale skin it wasn’t too dark and it wasn’t too late it’s the perfect shade for any occasion. I wouldn’t say it’s a nude color, I guess it could be placed in the nude category but I’ve found it had more hues of browns grays purples almost like a very dry it out purple with subtle and when I say subtle I mean very subtle hints of pinks and peaches and just all sorts of colors that I can’t quite point my finger on may be a little bit of a gray but mix those all together and you get this beautiful cashmere color that goes on smooth! I love that it’s a liquid lipstick aka VELVETINE matte (so I know it won’t be coming off on my teeth, clothes, drinks or even when I’m eating greasy foods – THIS HAS STAYED PUT!) I’ll even go as far as saying it lasted one very long passionate date night with my husband 🙊🙈😂 (insert blushing emoji here)  This was actually my second time purchasing this shade, and I would definitely purchase it again and again! Limecrime has great sales from time to time so make sure to look out for that! I think they’ve rebranded their website at showing the exact color on different skin tones and even have multiple lips pictured so you have a better idea how it will look, from when it was just the same pair of lips that was always pictured in every shade! I would NEVER recommend this dye to anyone. It only gets a star because it smelled nice. I got Sea Witch and it has dyed every surface my hair touches that color if the strand is wet. As soon as any water hits my hair, the color just starts running everywhere. I just put a little gel in my hair so I could braid it and my scalp has turned green again and so are my hands. My hair has been falling out more than usual after using this dye and all my towels, pillow cases, every surface in my bathroom, the sink at work, they are all covered in little hair strands that turn the counter top green. It’s infuriating. I get that washing your hair means color will come out, but I’ve NEVER had any other brand wash out like this or turn every surface it touches that color. I will never be buying it again and I’m probably going to take this color out of my hair soon. I’ve dealt with this for almost 2 weeks and it’s only getting worse. I love this brand so much. I’ve used maybe five of their colors, but the jello and chocolate Cherry are my absolute favorite ones. First off, the color penetration is excellent. If anyone out there is looking for tips, try rinsing your hair with cool water every time you wash it. Keeps the color longer and stays vibrant. The smell is a plus!!! And the price isn’t bad considering you’re getting over two more ounces of color compared to Manic Panic. I’ve been doing my hair funky colors for about twenty years now, I’ve tried literally every brand out there. I even put myself through beauty school and experimented with top notch dye, yet I still come back to this brand. I love it! I’ve got jello and cherry in my hair but I’m looking forward to trying Mochi soon, I’m excited about the grey/purple/bluish look it has. My rule of thumb is go darker and enjoy the fading process. I absolutely loved this product and color when I had my hair dyed blue. It kept my color so vibrant. It does stain your hands, skin and tub so be careful when using it. If it does stain your tub it should fade over time. You can put it straight on your hair or mix it with your conditioner to just touch up the color. For a back story I am a natural sandy brown and my hair is in a mohawk currently. So I purchased the iroiro neon blue and first I did a bleach kit as I mention darker natural hair as I wanted to get the full effects of the neon. So bleached first then onto the color. I applied the color and left it on for 45 minutes so that i would get the bright vibrant blue i wanted. 45 minutes later i wash dye out under cold water as warm will fade it, didnt want that. However I have been dying hair for 20+years so I'm experienced and know what I'm doing. I am almost a week out and I literally look like I used one of the 1q 0 washes dye because I havent washed it yet but it looks as if I've pretty much combed it right out. This is by far the worst hairdye I have ever used. I've used numerous brands and numerous different colors and I will never purchase this brand again. Ive used multiple Iroiro colors by now (Plum, Pink, Yellow, and one of the blue colors) and I love them. The smell is FANTASTIC, my hair feels great, and the price is worth it. The pouches are so convenient and much easier than having to shake the last bits of dye in a squeeze bottle (aka Arctic Fox). Also the colors, especially pink, last a good while and fade nicely. I just used a mix of plum, pink and yellow on dyed brown hair for a nice color tiny and it looks beautiful in the sun. Definitely recommend. Also cruelty free and thats always important!rebekah.a
This product worked wonderfully. I used L’Oreal colorista for brunettes to make a conditioner to put on my hair first. This is a true burgundy plum on medium brunettes. It came out so red I was impressed. Not that messy imo. My only regret is that this color looks better when I’m pale in winter. Can’t wait to tone it with a true violet. So far Amika violet toning drops are helping make it a bit less extreme. Great color payoff, environmentally friendly packaging, minimal damage. This box is great to dye your hair red if you have dark hair. It comes with two different tubes. Bigger one comes out like a cream and its white ish, then the smaller tube is the actual “dye” or ink lol. It’s labeled as “copper intensifier” or something like that. I was so indecisive to use it but it’s literally needed, because the bigger dye is just white. So you mix them together to get the red. The product itself is great when you receive the correct coloring packet. I give the product 5 stars. The vendor gets a 1. My daughter has used it many times purchased elsewhere. Her friend didn't look at the label and used it on my daughters bright red hair. It was not red it was copper. I asked for a replacement and the company wanted pictures of the box, contents and packing slip. I don't have a packing slip so sent a screen shot of my on-line order form which clearly states the product was shipped to me by them. I didn't approve or ask for this shade! I got starry black. I'm a natural blonde. In order for me to achieve black hair that doesn't turn green after the 1st wash,I would have to do a filler color first like a medium brown. I don't want to put all those chemicals on my hair. Plus I don't want black hair! I DID NOT USE THIS! I have used feria in the past though, I have used their bleaching kit and their auburn, red and black cherry shades. It is the only box dye I will use. It not only has an essential oil you add to it for a better smell but it also helps the hair feel softer and more hydrated as well as look shiny and healthy, well as healthy as dyed hair can look. For a box dye it's not bad. If I had gotten a color I approved of I totally would have used it! My daughter has medium golden brown hair and has been debating allowing me to use this on her. I'm a natural brunette and while I have dyed my hair a few times over the past couple years I've never went and done a crazy color now if you swipe over you will see I went bright blue and then very quickly decided that that did not fit my skin tone whatsoever and it need to die. The variety I used was l'oreal paris feria shimmering in deep violet. I took this 1st picture about a week after dying my hair with the dye and I had washed my hair about twice using color safe shampoo and color safe conditioning products. It immediately started fading pretty fast right after dying it was a really really dark navy blue with very slight purple undertones and for undertones and then after a few weeks of washing my hair and it's just continuing to lighten dramatically. Currently I'm back to a muddy/blue tinged green. I have used this brand of dye before in different colors when I was dying over brunette hair without any bleach involved and I also do remember that it faded very fast but it wasn't as noticeable because I was dying over dark Brown hair where it's now dyed over light blue and it's very easy to see how fast it has faded down. #complimentary #feriahaircolor
Ive used this brand of hair dye since the very first time I dyed my hair at age 15 and its always been my favorite. Ive tried other brands through out the years but nothing looks as intense or lasts as long as this brand does. The last year or so ive been using the power violets collection and they're so beautiful! I love how intense the color comes out and it doesnt strip my hair at all. Along with the products to dye your hair they also include a shampoo and conditioner which make my hair so super soft and shiny! I wish I could buy it in full size bottles but I dont think they make it. These dyes do have a strong scent you need to use them in well ventilated spaces. I usually have a fan going to help with air circulation. After using this dye I don't experience any bleeding of color on my skin or clothes. The color lasts for months on me before it really starts to fade. For reference I wash my hair once or twice a week. (But I shower more then that lol) I dye my hair around every 3-4 months. I recently received this complimentary VoxBox campaign for Clairol GlossUp Semi Permanent Instant Expressive haircolor in the mail from Influenster, in exchange for my honest review. I am rating this dye largely in terms of ingredients, which seem to be significantly less harmful on the overall health of my hair as compared with other standard permanent boxes dyes, and also even the bold color (dark purple and pink) semi permanent dyes I have used from other companies before; Artic Fox and Punky Color, respectively speaking. I appreciate that it does not have a high alcohol content, nor does it contain other ingredients which are often considered callout harmful ingredients in consumer products, such as parabens or sulfates, among others. I applied this semi permanent dye to my hair which is on the thinner side and prone to breakage/split ends with severe damage at times including up to four splits per hair end, genuinely. My scalp is generally on the average to oilier side depending on the day, my activities or time spent in humid weather, and such. While I did not find this dye particularly harmful to the health of my hair and even rather, had a slight initial conditioning effect, the lasting power of the color on my hair when using this product, I would consider subpar compared with semipermanent dyes and even color depositing shampoos I have used from other companies before. I found that this particular semi permanent dye lasted only about 3-4 days near regular color impact or original intensity before fading substantially and rapidly. I found this aspect of the product disappointing, personally. This was the most disappointing aspect of the product overall, probably. The application process for this dye was relatively simple from my experience with using it so far. As stated on the packaging, the dye should be evenly distributed throughout all areas of already clean and somewhat damp hair. As stated, it can be left on one's damp hair from 2 to 15 minutes depending on your current hair type and condition as well as the desired end results, including saturation and intensity. I left it in my hair for probably between 13 and 15 minutes each application; I have used the product a few times since receiving the campaign box in the mail not too long ago. I am disappointed with the price point relative to lasting power of the original color which as I mentioned, was not all that long on my hair in comparison with other semi permanent dyes I have used from different companies in the past. I like the general idea behind a semi permanent dye with less alcohol content and less of other potentially harmful ingredients. However given the fact that this dye was extremely temporary from my perspective even as semi permanent dyes go, 4 stars is the absolute most I would ever give this product; I would probably do 3.5 instead, were that an available reviewing option on this platform, which it isn't as of now. Given the poor lasting power I would be hesitant to recommend this specific shade of the product to others, however at the price point I see it being sold for online and based on reviews I have read of other shades and people with different hair types than myself on this platform so far, it may be something I would consider recommending to others, depending upon their hair type, conditions, color preferences, and overall end goals including saturation and longevity of the dye beyond a few days or so. It is an ok product but I feel the price point is honestly a bit too high as it stands. …Excuse the brief update: I had been under the impression there was not a high alcohol content in this product but I double checked and discovered that's actually inaccurate. There is cetearyl alcohol fairly high up on the ingredients list for this product at least as stated on the packaging (bottom square part), so if that is a concern to you for the overall health of your hair or any other reason(s) please be sure to keep that in mind when considering whether or not this may be a product you would like to consider giving a try. I did not see parabens listed however, as I had initially been thinking, so if that is something you consider an important thing to check on with your hair products, rest assured, they aren't in there at all.
I was excited to hear I was selected for this campaign. I’ve had vivid hair for almost 2 years now and constantly researching/searching for products that can not only extend my color but protect the health of my hair. Gloss up appeared as if it could help me attain that. This color specifically is meant for pre lightened hair- not darker blondes or brown as is mine. Now it's been a minute since I had mine done. First impressions: The packaging is typical of the brand, you can recognize who it is even if you removed the name. I was surprised to find nothing but the tube of gloss inside, no institutions no gloves just the conditioner. The cap for the packaging is impossible.. The conditioner itself is thick- like a paste with almost a waxy feel to it, but not in a bad way. The color matched the intended dye with a glittery sheen to it. It coated well and was smooth but the greatest part of all about this was the scent. It smells like HT tanning oil or sunscreen. I opted to try a few lighter strands that outlined my face, my hair was clean but not damp but I went ahead and tried it anyway. It coated very well and wasn't hard to distribute cleanly and evenly and that smell….I am seriously digging the scent. The side of the box did mention an incubation time from 2-15 minutes…let's just say I went with the 15. With the consistency of the product I dont think it's something you have to shampoo out, it does say to rinse and style as a usual so i did just that. Despite its thickness it wasn't difficult to wash out and my hair did feel soft, smooth, moisturized and smelled like a beach lovers dream. I can't say I was disappointed because I didn't figure I'd see a change. Aside from a deep conditioning affect my trial hair looked the same. So the next day I opted for my whole head. It says on line it can be used as often as you like, what did I have to lose? If nothing else my whole head would look as if though I had a luxurious deep conditioning treatment done if by change some color popped on through, Id call it a win either way. Putting the fact that I didn't have extra gloves aside I was genuinely curious if this would stain my hands at all since it had little effect to my hair…and I solemnly swear as I raise my seafoam tinted right hand that yes it has a color to it. I admit I’m guilty for leaving it on for more than the 15..but with a scent that drives you right back to those teenage beach bum gushing over your hot surfer crush memories can you blame me? I also wanted to give the subtle teal a chance on my locks. I was really excited to use this product because I love the color glosses they do at the salon. When I tried it the first time, I will admit I was really unhappy initially. The tube comes in a box, yet no gloves?! Gloves are STRONGLY recommended in my experience and I believe it mentions needing them on the packaging so it’s frustrating that they even bother to sell it in a box without gloves. The dye stains your hands very quickly as well as your body, scalp shower (literally everything). And my color was extremely dark and is a dark inky, goopy mess. It is very hard to get off of everything and the stains have actually not come off my shower walls. Your hair needs to be wet to use it, but I would not recommend doing it in the shower. You really need to have some sort of dark raggy t-shirt on or a dark towel and to do it in the mirror due to the mess. That being said, I did like the results here and there. I’ve used it many times since receiving it (10 times) so I’ve gotten a pretty solid idea of the product in and out. There are definitely pros and cons. My hair is dark brown with highlighted hair that has turned brassy, so I like that it filled my hair with an ashy overtone and makes my hair overall a nice, finished looking more “complete” tone. It could be a great back up for those with dyed hair in between color treatments for an event or something. However, this particular color can be sort of green especially noticeable after a few tries. It definitely does not last 10 washes like it claims for me it lasts 1 wash. I’m sure it has a lot to do with hair porosity but this was a disappointment for me. I would much rather pay the same price as this bottle for permanent dye or toner, knowing that at least it’ll last 10 washes or more and be worth the damage. It does make your hair shiny and soft until the next time you wash your hair, but is not worth the amount of mess and effort for such fleeting results. After the gloss and color wash out those on wash 2, expect your hair to be back to the color it was prior to using this and be extremely dry and honestly a bit damaged. I did notice some fall out each time I used it I was not experiencing before. I could see this being a really good choice for a parent looking to try with their child just for fun, especially the fashion colors! I could also see it being an excellent wash-out temporary color for like a Halloween costume. My seven year old really wanted to color her hair but she is too young. So I found this and was like it sounds great! Washes out in one wash and is a simple spray. Well she looks super cute with the pink in her hair, however she also looked like a pink smurf! It got all over her face, neck, clothes and anything she laid on or touched with her hair! Just used this product yesterday, so I can't speak to how long it will last, but I've seen many negative reviews about it not coming out – I hope they're right! I was hoping for a dramatic change, but since I have medium-dark brown hair, I didn't get my hopes up too much. My hair is long-ish, so normally, it takes 3 boxes of dye, but one box of this one did the trick, which was a pleasant surprise. After applying and keeping it on for about 35-40 minutes (box recommends 30, but I was worried it wouldn't take), I washed it out. I couldn't see any difference in my wet hair at first and I was sure the only thing that ended up dyed was my scalp… However, after it dried, it looked AMAZING. It has this really cool effect where it can look totally different based on how the light hits it. It ranges from a natural dark brown with a hint of red in normal indoor lighting, to a deep and vibrant red/purple in the sunlight. Plus, my hair felt great after using it! I am very happy with this product. However, I absolutely would NOT recommend it for kids or someone who just wants a "one day" thing… semi-permanent is still not temporary!Karina
I'm not quite sure how other people are using this dye with light hair, but I have natural white/platinum hair and these colorista dyes are great. I use them on clean DRY hair that's washed at least a day previously with no conditioner as conditioner forms a barrier for dye absorption, and dry hair I find absorbs better than wet. I use a dye brush and often blend different colours for slight multi tonal effect and leave for at least 30 mins with a bag over hair. The colour is always great and lasts for weeks and leaves hair lovely and conditioned. The colour fades the more it's washed and I don't use conditioner when washing either as that fades the dye quicker. Using straighteners seals the colour in more too. And that's how my colour takes really well and lasts. I've noticed these dyes are getting a little harder to get hold of so i'm hoping L'Oreal isn't phasing them out.Tina54

I bought this color for my son. We both regularly dye our hair with Manic Panic. For some reason Pillarbox red has been an absolute nightmare. It is constantly bleeding on EVERYTHING. His hoodie, bedding, pillows, shirts, my bed, seat on his bus, my car seat, my stainless steel sink, etc are all red. I would give 1 star of I didn't know and love manic panic. I have been using it for 30 years! I washed his hair 5x 2 days in a row for a total of 10 times and it is still happening. I am losing my mind. All his clothes are getting ruined. I don't want to rate quality because I don't want to bring the rating down if there is just an issue with this batch. I just wanted to share my experience.Angel5787
I purchased silver stiletto. I already have blonde hair but bleached it awhile back. Grew my roots out and recently rebleached those and then cleansed my hair with shampoo and no conditioner. After fully drying I used the whole bottle on my hair and it was thoroughly saturated, even rubbed it in to make sure. Covered it as instructed for thirty minutes and NOTHING! Two big light blue blotches near the ends of my hair and nothing else. Vast Majority of my hair didn't take the color. At minimum usually my hair will pick up color and keep it going for a few washes. This product is Not even worth a dollar. Don't buy this.Coralcrumbs
I bought one bottle each of Rockabilly Blue and Vampire Red. I was going for a dark reddish purple. Mixed about 3/4 red and 1/4 blue. Applied, let sit for an hour. Despite the fact that I used only 1/4 of the blue in my mix it was what stained my hands (through the gloves!), sink (where I washed the mixing bowl) and my whole shower…I was shocked but honestly I don't care much about it being stained so I shrugged and on we go. Just a bit unfortunate that my whole shower floor is blue and my porcelain sink is as well. The color however turned out beautiful. I dyed over my natural dark brown hair and it made it slightly darker but a lovely rich purple/red. Exactly what I wanted. It does bleed really badly and will stain any white/light towels, sheets, hair bands/etc you might have. Now here's where something weird comes in…since I dyed it a week ago, every day I get my hair wet in the shower it smells AWFUL. Like, I immediately thought it smelled like a Porta-John. I even asked my husband the last few days to smell my wet hair and confirm that's what is smelling so bad and yes, it's my hair! It's so strange. I tried googling to see if anyone else has had the same problem but couldn't find anything so maybe it's just me? I'm giving it three stars because my hair looks and feels great, but I'll probably never use it again due to the excessive staining/bleeding and the weird smell.Alex
