I've always had a big issue with "protectants". Some shine too much, some leave an awful residue, and some just stink. Even when I've had a vehicle professionally cleaned and detailed, the interior protectant would bother me. Not this stuff though, it's great. I've used it interior trim pieces, exterior sections, and even the tires. I've got an RMT built F150 that is a concrete princess. I put this on the tires and it provides a nice subtle appearance that says "I take care of my truck" and not "I'm deathly afraid of the dirt". Great product!
When I asked the local Subaru sales rep what he uses on his Outback for the black plastic trim, he gave no specific recommendations. "There are lots of great products out there". I'm sure he was not going to endorse any specific product because of company preferences. But trust me, I'm going to buy him a bottle of this VRP and give it to him as a thank you for his great service in buying my Outback . . . he has one also and I'm sure wants to keep it look brand new . . . which is what this product does, it brings out the rich black color of the plastic and I had some paste wax that had gotten onto the plastic from my last waxing and this took it off fairly easily.
I used this [and the Trim Clean Wax and Oil Remover] on my wife's '18 Kia which has a tone of plastic edging around the entire car. Looked brand new. I tried it on my sun bleach '01 Dodge Ram, all of the black trip went from chalky white to black again. The only spot it did not completely renew was the plastic steps on the rear bumper. It improved it about 20% the first time and about 10% better the next. I will keep trying

A middle of the road score for this item. It does a good job of shining up your plastic, once it has been appropriately cleaned. As for the windows, I would rather just use glass cleaner, here is why. The product states that it is a dust deterrent. That didn't happen. Your window will still collect dust as it did before using the product. As a secondary woe, it streaks terribly. It would take real serious wiping down to eliminate the streaks. In MY opinion, the consumer would be better off substituting Plexus for another product. By the way, I have used similar products, they to streak horribly.Bill

This product is amazing. I first cleaned and polished my headlights with Meguiars swirt remover. After lens was free of oxidation and other contaminants, I simply sprayed this on the headlight. It is not runny, but rather small foam like bubbles that cling to the lens. Work this bubble coating into the lens and buff with a clean microfiber towel to get a brilliant shine. The clarity is amazing. I will do this again in a couple of months just to keep the lens crystal clear. I highly recommend this product.young10_000

I have done many of headlight restorations. I sued a 3M kit I had on a 2008 mustang. Their headlights are cheap and thin. I had places that just wld not clean up this dull haze from the cleaning kit. I got the plastic polish and used my buffer and it did a fantastic job and got rid of those marked spots from the cleaning kit. His is the 1st time I have ever had a problem but being sick cheap headlights I understand. The plastic polish smells nice and did a great job. This product worked amazing. It seems to work differently to cutting cremes and other paint polishes I have used in the past. With a drill buff attachment, this had the discoloured headlamps on my two vehicles gleaming like new without causing cloudiness or fine scratches. The gleam was so amazing, I wanted to do the taillight plastics as well. Holding up well a few weeks later too. The product seemed to impregnate the plastic and form a protective barrier. I have an '08 Sentra in the family that had badly fogged/yellowed headlights. I saw a YouTube video comparing various headlight renewing products including this one and it worked well on the vid and it was one of the least expensive ones so I tried it. However, I did buy a cheap pack of sponge pads for my electric drill and I used that for application and buffing. It worked incredibly well! The lenses were almost like new and it took be about 10 minutes to do including wiping up the spatter. So it was really quick and easy. I cannot comment on how it works with hand application but I'm sure it takes way more effort so I recommend the drill sponges. Sorry that I didn't think to take before and after pics but the difference was night and day.m.
3M 39017 Lens & Hard Plastic Cleaner – 8 oz is very easy to use and the results are amazing. I used a microfiber cloth to apply it to the headlights, waited about 7 minutes for it to dry to a haze and then wiped it off with a clean microfiber cloth and the headlights looked almost new. I wanted to see how clear I could get them so I repeated the process 2 more times and the second time provided a little more clarity and the 3rd time I didn't notice a significant difference. After using "3M 39017 Lens & Hard Plastic Cleaner – 8 oz" the directions say you can follow up with "3M 39010 Headlight Lens Polish and Protector Bottle – 8.0 oz" so I tried using the polish once. I think the polish may have made the lens a tiny bit clearer but the most significant and dramatic difference was achieved by just using the cleaner. So the polish doesn't hurt but I think the cleaner is all that is needed to get excellent results. As for putting a wax or sealer on afterwards, I didn't bother because I don't want to make an easy job difficult, by adding additional steps. Plus if the headlight lenses oxidize in a few months or a year later I wouldn't care since they were so easy to clean and the bottle of cleaner is still about 85% full, so I still have enough to last for ages.L.

I bought this to try to restore the black trim on my pickup but I was a little skeptical at first. It actually worked quite well, just make sure you do it in the shade or once the sun has started to set. There are some areas that the fading might be so severe that the restorer doesn’t work very well on but for the most part it got most of my trim looking new and shiny again. Its been about 2 weeks since & I’ve washed it many times & drove it all over the place and still looks good. I’d imagine it’s not permanent but having to do it every couple months or so ain’t bad.Mr X
This product really took me by surprise. I watched him a video of a guy using this product on his Xterra (like mine) to make sure it was actually as good as it says it is and it most definitely is. I used it on all the faded black plastic on my car even the mud flaps and is all looks brand stinkin new again. I have yet to take it through a was since applying it on so I’m not sure how long it will last but with how simple it was and how well it worked and how cheap it is, it’s worth applying over and over again. Note: Do pay attention that this is not for anything other than the plastic on the car, do not use it on the actual paint it’s self anywhere. I failed to tape off on a certain area and got it on the paint and though it’s super faint, you can still tell where it go on so just be mindful and careful. Also depending on how faded your plastic is, determines how many coats you need to put on before you don’t see any more bleed through or streaks. Purchased this to bring the black coloring back to the plastic bezel on my motorcycle. Does it work? Most definitely. It's a thick gel consistency, so it sticks to applicators well. It doesn't leave a residue on the plastic either. I did try a test spot to see if it would wash off, and it appeared to do that. I haven't washed the bike since application other than the test spot, so I'm hoping this is a one and done application. I rubbed on it and put water on it, so far it's held. This product was a HUGE disappointment! Instead of truly polishing plastics, it simply uses processed castor oil to temporarily look like it increases clarity. Closely following the directions, I used some to renew the clear plastic on my headlights. The next day, the clarity was gone and the headlights looked as they did before. I plan on contacting Meguiar's to make a formal complaint about what I feel are deceptive marketing practices.S.T.
I used this polish on the headlights and stone guards on a Porsche after buffing them with Meguiar's M17 plastic cleaner: Meguiar's M17 Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner – 8 oz. . M10 with a PC7424 and orange LC pad really shined up the headlights and stone guards, but it just isn't strong enough to remove heavier marring, oxidation, or scratches. The very small scratches and marring on the stone guards were removed very well and the guards in particular were brought back to their original shine. Before polishing with M10 the guards had a dull luster to them that contrasted quite poorly with the highly polished paint around them. After polishing with M10 the guards blend far better with the paint around them. Overall I am satisfied M10 did what it was intended to do, but for deep marring or oxidation you will need to step up to a compound like Meguiars M105 or even a full headlight restoration kit. I highly recommend the 3M headlight restoration kit (see my detailed review on this kit): 3M 39008 Headlight Lens Restoration SystemA.
In the past, on a previous car, I used the 3M headlight restoration kit with various grades of sand paper and then polish. This time before going the sand paper route – messier, more time consuming and easier to screw up the chrome plastic trim surrounding the headlight lenses – I thought I'd try just the Meguiar's combo. Worked fantastically on my 2002 Audi A6.. I used the small buffing pad I had from the previous 3M kit with a hand-held electric drill. Made several vertical then horizontal passes with the #17 Cleaner, wiped the lenses clean and followed with the #10 Polish. Took a total of about fifteen minutes a lens. The lenses look as good as those on any new car around. One tip would be to drape some old sheets around the surrounding areas of your car. The spinning pad does throw the cleaner and polish around and while it does wash/wipe off the hard finished surfaces, it was a little bit of a hassle cleaning it off the exposed engine parts. (I had raised the hood to have better access to the lenses.)d.

I purchased 2 bottles of this product after a friend raved about it. It's probably my most favorite product I've ever used on an interior. It cleans away dirt and grime that I thought I would never be able to safely clean and the smell…. It's kind of hard to describe. I feel some people might think it's a little strong at first but I find it to be a very pleasant deep clean type of smell.
I was a little anxious to use this on leather – tested a small area and it worked great removing worked in dirt and grime without discoloring the leather. Worked great cleaning all the seats. Spray and leave it a few minutes, then use a mild brush to get into the cracks. Works fantastic. Also was very good cleaning scuff marks from the vinyl on the doors and footwell.
This will work out the most imbedded stains you have. I used it in my neglected probably never cleaned foxbody and it removed everything. Best it let it sit for minute or two, then wipe off with an uber all purpose towel. I did get some white residue which I removed with Cockpit premium.

I had terrible hard water stains on my bow mounted fish finder. It is mounted flat and catches a lot of water due to the location. A search on the net led me to Meguiars Mirror Glaze #17. After 3 applications of this product with a microfiber cloth and without even using the #10 polish that I also purchased at the same time, I'm completely blown away. It looks brand new! So much better that I will now worry about leaving my electronic fish finder attached when my boat is parked at a dock or parking lot for a long period of time. This stuff has been around for decades and it's not the same formula as it was in the 90's. it used to be tan in color and a little more liquid in consistency, as opposed to white and like lotion. it used to sort of stick to the areas that had the most fine scratches while you rubbed it in, and sort of clump on them, and after drying you'd rub those clumpy areas and WOW, an amazing improvement. This is now just like the Novus Fine Scratch Remover which shines things up nice, but nothing amazing as it used to be. I like to buy old motorcycles, scooters, and quads to fix up and ride or sell. Most of these have been sitting outside for years. I was pleasantly surprised that it made the scuff marks in my cargo area disappear. We have more problems with wear on plastic and trim, as our vehicles a fairly new. But, I like keeping our vehicles looking nice. It was very easy to use and it didn’t have a strong smell to it like other stuff I have used in the past. I first want to say that ive tried a couple of the trinova products and i love them all! They show amazing results! I got this product to use of the plastic parts of my car and I am loving the results. This product is super easy to use, you simply put it on the buffer and apply to your car, thats it! The first picture below you can tell the black area is slightly faded and needs some work, but after I applied the restorer , I am in shock! My trim already looks so much better and the results last for about a week. I definitely would recommend buying this!
My husband and I were both extremely impressed with this trim restorer. We have a 2009 CR-V, and the trim has definitely seen better days. Over the years they have become a faded gray, but they are now shiny black again! I love how quick and easy this stuff is to use. You just squirt a little on the pad, and wipe it onto the trim. It's not oily or greasy, so it doesn't just sit on the trim, it penetrates and restores the original black. The ridges in the pad seemed unnecessary and a little in the way, but that is literally my ONLY complaint about this product. Armor is great stuff. I buy this size and the big bottle and refill the squeeze bottle. This is great for shining up your wheels! They get so bright and black like after getting it professionally detailed. I use for the interior as well. If you have a scuff on the door jab, add this, let it sit for a tiny bit, and scuff is gone. This will make the plastic slippery so recommend not to do the plastic where you feet are. The only compliant is the sprayer goes al over the place and requires cleanup on the tires because this gets all over my rims.christina.p

Keeps my dash looking great as always. The bottle says "New & Improved", but I can't tell the difference between the original and this. I do notice; however, the consistency is a little different. The shine is exactly as described, a medium shine. This protectant works well and keeps your dash and vehicle surfaces looking new. It still has a slight oil feel to it, but that's what keeps everything looking nice, I suppose. It was extremely easy to apply with a microfiber rag/towel. I’m not really sure there are any downsides to the product. Maybe the inability to apply it to the steering wheel, floors, pedals, etc. Anything you need to be able to grip confidently.Iamharv

Pros: This is the gold standard in plastic and rubber protection. Goes on easy and you don't need to wipe/remove it after. Leaves interior and exterior plastics & rubbers looking clean and dark without leaving them greasy. I'm not as fond of using it on tires (I prefer a little more shine) but works wonders on the cheap black textured plastics that automakers put all over the outside of cars. Cons: It isn't cheap, and if you get it on something you don't want it on (shiny plastic, glass) it can be a little more difficult to remove completely/leave no streaks. Other: It says you can apply it a few ways, but definitely the easiest and most consistent is going to be a microfiber applicator pad (rather than a towel). Less is more here – don't soak a surface with it or you will see it being very wet and greasy; it does dry a small amount, but not very much. If you are looking for high-shine, this is NOT the product you want.Dean
My go-to protectant. Use it on the leather dash, door cards, rear deck, etc. And use it on the rubber seals. Not on the leather seats…yet. These are all interior surfaces, so can't comment on how it weathers. Some of these surfaces, which are textured black, were greying with some white showing in the texturing. 303 brought them back to black and, after wiping as directed, left a matte finish that isn't sticky. Just like new. Doesn't seem to attract dust, as advertised. Has no odor. And is water-based. Again, my go-to protectant. Highly recommended.DLH1
I've been covering every inch of my 24 yr old tires w/303 for years & years and they looked so good that when I took my Jeep to Discount Tires for a piece of metal in the tread the Manager, while kneeling down & inspecting, said "You got some good looking tires here." He only did a total turn around when he looked at the year of the paperwork. They were still absolutely gorgeous the day I bought new tires. RainX Xtreme clean. Wow wow wow! My husband and i used this on 3 of our vehicles headlights. Of 6 lenses 5 came out 100% better. One cover just has some kind of issue (probably on the inside of the light) but other than the one lense we were IMPRESSED. We ALSO used the rain X Xtreme clean on the windshield and side windows of our Ford truc, that carriers our cabover camper. When it rains it runs some of the white camper paint or whatever is running down the windshields. We struggled with seeing out the window on our last couple road/camping trips we tried window cleaners but they weren't a sucess. But i decided to try the extreme clean rainx on the windshield and side windows and it was a simple circular scrub and wipe off and it looks PERFECT like nothing was on the windows. Just this use of the rain x would make me buy it again and again and AGAIN! sadly i should've taken before and after pics of windows but i did get pics on the head light covers! tried this out today on our 1998 Toyota Camry. works great and easy to use. I just poured a little dab on a old towel, using circular motion worked it around and around on about half of the headlight. could see the discoloration disappearing as i used it. did the same for the other half and a nice shiny like-new headlight was there. for the second headlight i tried it a bit different, i smeared the Rain-x compound over the entire headlight and let it sit for a few minutes, then started with a fresh dab of compound , using the circular motions and it seemed easier to rub off the discoloration. we now have 2 clear and bright headlights. works great and easy to use. none of the multiple applications and buffing like so many of the other products require. see the pictures, before and after, works great!Blazer203
I live in a very rural area on a gravel road so my car is always pretty grimy and my headlights are dull and hazy. Rain-X X-Treme cleaner works amazingly well to remove the road grit, salt residue, bugs, and haze on my headlights and windshield. The cleaner is easy to apply but can dry quickly and takes some rubbing to remove. I wiped it on with a damp microfiber cloth in small circular motions until the whole area was covered. Then I used another damp microfiber cloth and water to remove it and buffed it afterward with a dry cloth. Like I said, it takes a bit of rubbing but it makes a really big difference in the clarity of my windshield and headlights and will hopefully keep them cleaner and less grimy going forward. It also worked great on the rear window of my SUV which always gets covered in road dust. I am really impressed with how easily this cleaner removes stuck-on bugs and doesn't leave a streaky appearance on plastic or glass.MissM

I used this in my wife's car which is about 8 years old. She has some trim plastic pieces on her dash, columns and center console. Never having used a product like this before I wasn't sure if I'd even notice much of a difference but I will say, it actually shows positive results. The dash accents popped out like they were actually black again and the columns didn't feel dry and cracked anymore. It didn't fully restore the color on the columns but it definitely seemed to make it feel more new by reducing the cracks. I'm guessing the plastic on the center console is a different material that this product doesn't work well on because it didn't do much for that piece. It seemed to maybe help a little bit but it was very minimal, minimal enough that I may have just been seeing it because I wanted to see it.GaryM

I purchased a 24 year old pickup which had the typical dried out and discolored gray dash. It has a slight warp and a small crack from a lack of care. I bought the Back to Black, and boy is there now a difference! The warp and crack are still there, but the dash is so shiny that you don't notice them. So shiny in fact, that the sun glare from it will blind you. So shiny that a sticky note won't stick. It's a beautiful dark gray color that probably hasn't existed since the day it rolled off the production floor. The previous owner can't believe the difference. I’ve used pretty much every Armorall product on the market at least once if not twice. The wipes and the spray are my two go to formulas. I looks to use the wipes in those hard to reach spots and the spray in the large easy to reach areas. My car is always left nice and clean and shiny!
