This is my first foray into pomades, and I was braced for something between a hair oil and the crunchy gels of the 80s. I was pleasantly surprised to find Cremo delivered something far better. This pomade is a solid hold, especially when worked through do hair, and it holds for 24 hours, if not longer. I've been able to mist water on my hair and comb it back into place after sleeping for a second day's hold. It doesn't have a strong smell, which is great — nothing to compete with my aftershave and cologne. I have 3a/b curly hair, ringlets with big volume and I thought I'd never be able to wear my hair straight without using a straightener religiously. And with this product alone, I can wear my hair slicked back and mostly straight in a Peaky Blinders cut. That's the kind of hold Cremo delivers, and I'm a convert for life. I recently received this Cremo Thickening Styling Paste #freeproduct from #trywithtopbox to try in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time my fiancé is trying a styling paste, he usually uses hair glue for his hair. He found that the product was easy to use and work into his hair. The texture of the paste is really soft and not at all sticky or tacky. It however does not have as much hold as his usual hair glue. He actually has pretty thick hair to begin with so he couldn't tell if there was a thickening effect. However, he said he really loved the scent of product. Most hair styling products he has tried usually smells waxy or has a overwhelming perfumy scent. This one smells like an old fashioned barber shop. I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. There is also some Murray's-like buildup after a few days that takes a couple shampoos to get out.Long C.

This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. I just tried this out to style my old school crew cut. I find that it leaves my hair looking and feeling much more natural, smooth and shiny than the water based pomades. It's also really nice that it's reworkable throughout the day. Also, like everything suavecito makes…it smells amazing! Like everything in life, there are trade offs. As many have mentioned, this stuff does take a while to wash out even for me with a relatively short crew cut (about 1 to 1.5inches on top). Amazing pomade my son has thick hair and I was first using the cremo pomade however after some months it was no longer holding his hair up and I searched for a new one and landed on this one. I have been using this product for years (4-5 years). I have thick hair, and the strong hold was really the best. There is nothing "strong" about this product any longer, it has changed…why? It used to be thick and actually strong, not too shiny just perfect. Now it doesn't hold my thick hair in place, and just running your finger through the tub, you can tell it has changed, it's more like the original hold now. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. As a lover of vintage fashion, I'd heard many good things about this pomade, but having fine, wavy hair made sculpted styles nearly impossible. Combine that with hair that's starting to thin, and you realize that maybe long hair isn't your thing… However, it turns out Suavecita is a short-haired girl's best friend! I recently had my hair cut into an asymmetrical pixie, and needed a product that would allow for frizz control and texture enhancement, without weighing my hair down or making it sticky. Not only does it help fight frizz (mega important if you live somewhere with humid summers), it gives a ton of dimension and texture to wavy hair, and makes training your cowlicks a breeze! I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. There is also some Murray's-like buildup after a few days that takes a couple shampoos to get out.Long C.

Shame on me but I got a bit mislead on the packaging. I was under impression each 1oz. is resealable, it is definitely not. These show up in sample bags. I’m glad they have a lot in them but it’s tough to travel with these smaller sized bags that cannot reseal. I bought these because they are TSA and international travel compliant. These small packets of pomade are perfect for on the go travels. I do wish the packets were a bit smaller as this awesome product is so good that the adage "a little goes a long way" is definitely true so once you open a packet, most of the product might just go to waste. I thought I might squeeze any excess product into an empty/partially used jar of pomade I already have. I bought the Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Pomade to use on my relaxed hair. This was my first time purchasing from Carol's Daughter and I thought I could include the pomade in my hair care routine and was eager to use a product with "natural ingredients" for women of color. The package states it is for "dry, brittle and textured hair" so I thought it would be perfect since my hair since it is on the drier side, and I want to add some moisture to it. The first thing I noticed about this product is the smell. I thought it smelled great even though some people have noted they didn't like the smell from the reviews I read. The problem I had with this product is after I applied a small amount to my hair and scalp, I experienced some intense itching on my scalp within hours after use. The itching worsened and the next morning, I had uncontrollable itching to the point where my scalp felt like it was burning. I had to wash/shampoo it out of my hair right away! After washing it out, the itch was gone, however, my scalp was red and sore from the itching. I also noticed the my thighs were covered in hundreds of hives! I am not exaggerating either. It was bad! I had to rush to the drug store to get allergy medication/antihistamine! This will be the last time I would ever use a product from the Carol's Daughter line. I wouldn't want anyone to experience what I went through either. I don't know what it is in the pomade that caused the allergic reaction. I have never had any allergic reactions to any hair care products before, including hair dye. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product to anyone.Melissa
This is a natural, sweet smelling, non staining, twice a week hair food. To be fair, I like the brand. I got hooked via the store front in Brooklyn. The fact that Target carries this product line is impressive. That 2 of my local Target stores has become inconsistent in stocking core Carol’s Daughter products is troubling. #BlackHairCare is real. I’m a Latina with long frizzy when humid, non texture hair. I wanted to try a product that would moisturize my dry hair. Read a lot of positive reviews about Carol’s Daughter but was hesitant to try it because I have non textured hair. First time I tried it with recently washed hair. It helped detangle my hair. It was easy to comb my hair but unfortunately when my hair dried it was so greasy it looked like I hadn’t washed my hair. So I decided to use the pomade as a before washing treatment for my hair. Left it on for about two hours before washing my hair with L’Oréal Everpure detox shampoo. Again easy to comb while still wet. When my hair dried I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t frizzy. My hair was so soft and healthy looking. Would definitely recommend for non textured hair but as a before washing treatment. I gave this product a second chance because I did not want to waste by throwing it away and it was totally worth it.Astrid

After being tempted for a long time, I recently decided to try Patricks. My only regret was that I didn’t try it sooner! This stuff is truly in a league of its own. I’ve always bought quality grooming products, most notably I’d been using Morris Motley for years (fantastic as well). I didn’t think it could get any better… I was wrong. I recently purchased the M2, SH1, and CD1 products and they are undisputedly the best products I’ve ever used. The M2 is simply perfect for my medium-thick hair and the smell is so good, I’d purchase it as a cologne. They nailed every detail, right down to the packaging. M2 has been my favourite styling product for a while. It’s definitely medium to light hold, but it works well with my hair and leaves a really natural look throughout the day. No residue, flakes, or oiliness whatsoever, and it washes out easily with SH2. It also smells great. I have sensitive skin and can react to some products, but no worries here. It might look pricey but it lasts ages and the ingredients are top notch. Let’s face it, all the Patricks stuff looks cool in the bathroom too.Anonymous
his was one of the first products I tried and have been using it ever since. I mostly use it in slightly damp hair but have also occasionally used it in dry hair for a firmer hold. The feel is great and the hold in the hair is awesome but one of the biggest stand outs of the product has to be the smell. I always get compliments on the smell. It's tough looking for hair product that's natural and good on the body. While I enjoy a majority of the Badger products, this one needs a little more work on it. A lot of the reviews here are pretty much the same; a little more hold is desperately needed. A little beeswax is needed for a firmer hold. Also, water solubility is a problem as well. It's a bit oily at times when washing it from your hair; sometimes two washes are needed to clean up. Overall, the product does it job; smells great, holds but could hold a bit tighter. I bought this product for my husband. He has short, soft hair type. His favourite hair cream is discontinued so I got this one for the replacement. Having good ingredients and beautiful smell but… My husband didn't like it very much because it comes off and goes into his eyes. Too runny than textured wax type cream side. I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. There is also some Murray's-like buildup after a few days that takes a couple shampoos to get out.Long C.
Suavecito is the best smelling pomade hands down. I use this particularly for work and it holds well all day. I have a gentleman’s cut combover and makes my cut look 10/10. This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. For best results-this should be applied specifically to showered dried hair. This should not be applied to damp or wet hair. Enjoy!michael .b

I bought this for my husband who has natural curly hair. I started putting it on my ends for moisture while my hair is still damp. After using a curling iron, the curls stay with no hair spray! This has never happened before . Usually my curls fall out right away if I don’t completely coat my head in hair spray. He truly is nice soft curls.
This is Hands-down best pomade I’ve ever used. This stuff really works and smells amazing. It reminds me of the beach. I use two finger to add a small amount to the palm of my hands and apply it to fizzy parts of my hair. I small amount goes a long way so don’t take too much. The jar is tiny, but that's my fault for not looking at the size- just a heads up if you're expecting something normal sized. However, I followed the instructions and tried it – within five minutes or less I just had the same mess of flyaways except greasy. Hair still stuck out in whatever direction it pleases. Really wanted to like this, but I can't recommend it to anyone. Simply doesn't work, aside from being overpriced and not smelling good either.KaliAngel007

A very interesting product I have been using for years. It is tacky as others comment and the immediate results are very subtle. If I don't use it, my hair puffs out and I lose curl definition as the day progresses. After going through a ton of products, I like you have dealt with all the issues: Doesn’t wash out with only water, sticky, doesn’t hold all day, can’t rework it, build up over time, this list goes on and on. Even when you find something that seems great, by the time a tin/jar is empty you find something not perfect. Stop your searching. Byrd does none of the above. It is perfect in every way. I have thick straight hair and with this I can style with volume and keep it all day. It rinses out with just water and leaves my hair feeling healthy and soft.David M.
Used it once,. Never again. The wax they use in it does not wash out easy.. going on 5 days now and my hair still has that wax in it! & I washed it twice the 1st time, thinking it would come all the way out by then. Also: For a strong hold pomade w/wax it still does not hold my handlebar mustache up. It Just falls apart,. Only a few good high hold pomades can support the mustache and this is not one of em.
