Not knowing anything about pool cleaners I feel I did a good job comparing many models on line. I was very impressed with the features and comments about the Maytronics Dolphin E30. Our pool is 19×38 feet vinyl lined and I have never used a cleaner, so first time using a cleaner. My disappointment is an area of the pool is never cleaned. If the cleaner is placed mid length of the pool an area in the deep end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the deep end an area in the shallow end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the shallow end an area in the deep end is not cleaned. At the end of the 3 hour cycle there are always a few leaves left in the pool. We have an an above ground pool. The small vacuum that came with it broke and parts are, of course, back ordered. We saw this ad and after reviewing the return policy in case we didn't like it, ordered it. From the minute we saw it we were pretty excited but when we finished the first charge and used it we totally FELL IN LOVE with this product, especially the large capacity. It is so easy to use and picks up basically everything. Our pool had considerable algae from not having a vacuum for a couple of weeks but after 2 or 3 uses this picked up 95%! I got this because I thought "there has to be a better way" since we just brush every couple of days. We have an in ground pool, a weekly cleaning with this keeps the bottom clear. The little vacuum robot you leave in the pool just never worked properly for us- it always got stuck in one corner. This vacuum is amazing and keeps the pool clean! This item does only last about 30 minutes, which is why I knocked off a star. It also needs to get cleaned (the filter) frequently during use, which gets less frequent if you're consistent with vacuuming (less to clean up). I had my reservations about this item before making the purchase. However I will tell you this little vacuum is great. I can not believe what it vacuums out of the pool. I have a 22x 7 inground pool, This vacuum can clean the entire pool in a matter of minutes. I was shocked at how useful this product is and how well it is designed. It comes with plastic poles but I used my skimmer aluminum pole which attached directly to this Pool Blaster. The battery lasts pretty long between charges. The filter element catches sand leaves and dirt. The unit comes apart for easy cleaning. I am impressed so far. I have used it several times now and it has accomplished what i need it to do. It does not replace a vac that scrubs or one that is robotic, however for general cleaning of quick spot cleaning this thing is worth every penny. Th only thing I wish it had was a hook to hang it. You would assume that an "Intex branded" pool vacuum would fit an Intex above ground pool, but somewhere along the line Intex changed the fitting threads on the pool return fitting and they are NOT compatible. I had to return it as it was useless. Intex should have kept everything the same instead of changing only one side's threading without changing the fitting on the pool. Terrible business decision on Intex's part. If you bought an Intex pool after Jan 2021, this vacuum will NOT fit guaranteed. If the pool was purchased pre '21 you are just rolling the dice. INTEX should either sell the appropriate fitting for the pool individually, change the fitting back to the original on the vacuum, or recall all of these vacuums. I read several reviews before purchasing but foolishly assumed Intex would have fixed the problem in 2021.Anthony C.
This thing will zip across your pool for about ten minutes but never once did it pick up even the slightest bit of dibris from the pool. Not a leaf, not a bug, not a bit of anything. For a little vacuum it does great so far. Still waiting on the pole to come in, but it will be here soon To make a long story short, a good amount of sand was spilt in our above ground pool. Last night we tried it out without the pole. It was sucking up the sand. the bag is little, so a lot of cleaning out the bag took place. sometimes we did not get a good suction, but redid the bag and would work. I think the batteries took about 4 hours to charge. To be honest we did not use it long enough to see how long the batteries will last. We will know once the pole comes in. This is my second Catfish; the first one bit the dust after 6 hard years of service. The new one is much improved, especially in regards to the waterproofing of the inside unit.Regretfully, the new unit would not turn on after repeated tries to charge. Got a MRA (return authorization) on the seller website and shipped it UPS. I bought this vacuum three years ago, after we purchased a 15 foot pool. My filter, which is super cute but nothing like the one I had growing up, was not compatible with a vacuum, so this was my only option. I read the reviews, the suggestions on making it last, and I am now on year 3 of using it. I make sure to never overcharge it, I clean it with the hose immediately after use, I store it in the house, and that's about all I have done to "make it last." It works incredibly well and I have never run out of power-even after using it several times on my hot tub, for its bi-annual deep clean, having it sit a day, and then vacuuming the pool for 20 minutes (whose bright idea was it to put the pool under the trees for shade?!). It picks up everything from leaves to "helicopters" to tiny bugs to clumps of God knows what (did I mention the tree situation?). It has been well worth the money and I love that I don't have a huge hose following me around or the need to backwash after vacuuming. I won't even let my teens use it because I find it so relaxing and satisfying-though I do tell them I'm taking one for the team and not giving it to them as a chore 🙂 If The vacuum broke tomorrow, I would feel I got more than my money's worth. This took some time to figure out how to get it to work best (adjusting the float for tubing and getting it hooked up just right). Once I had it right it went to work around the pool. I had to help it along once, but otherwise it covered the pool pretty well. The pool was pretty clean: just a little sand remaining in the bottom. I used it on a 13' above ground pool, so this may have been overkill for the small size of our pool, but it's a pretty cool gadget anyway. A few things to improve on for Hayward.. 1. Despite trying all adjustments unit does tend to dwell in corners for reasonably long periods (eventually moves itself however) 2. Pool coverage is average, appears to track a similar pattern often despite so called programmed ability so this does not happen? 3. I would recommend including a hose/unit weight as an addition. Previous units I have had include a weight fitted to the closest hose to the vac – assists in keeping it grounded. * Be helpful I feel as the unit does do a bit of side tipping in the beveled corners, and not sticking to floor surface here and there (Tried all three flap adjustments – no different) 4. Should include a hose adaptor or two in differing sizes as the supplied hose would not connect directly to my skimmer plate hole, nor does the regulator valve supplied fit it either. (Too small for hole, perhaps as its made for America not Australia?) 5. Finally, I have a fiberglass pool with rounded floor to wall corners as pictured in the manual.. sorry guys it won't climb at all on any setting.. Fortunately I do not require this function. The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.

I just love all the advertisements from companies like this claiming to have the answer to a crystal clear, clean pool! The fact is the price of robotic pool cleaners keeps going up and up. All claiming to be the next best thing since the invention of the wheel. Unfortunately I have not yet seen ONE product that is reliable and last more than one season. Yes, you see new bells and whistles as the prices go through the roof! My advice to Polaris and other robotic manufacturers is to have your Engineers go back to the drawing board and design a reliable, repeatable product that does not have to rebuilt every two weeks on order to work properly. Pool Robotic technology is not at the point where a reliable product can be offered that is worth the outrageous prices these companies charge for junk. POlaris, you want to charge $1000 for a robotic cleaner? I would be happy to pay a $1000 for something that works and will last at least five years. Go back to the drawing board! I will be contacting those respondersNext, I will report that since the initial review, I've taken the cleaner in for service 6 times, and then engaged a weekly pool service to keep the pool cleaner as this product DOES NOT WORK EFFECTIVELY!Whenever I take it in (to a Polaris authorized repair shop, they claim), they replace the parts – usually the chain has slipped off, so new chain guard to try and prevent (I'm on my 3rd of the "upgraded" parts), or bearing in the wheel assemblies, or the latest – the Gear box has completely frozen and will need to be replaced.Some folks get lucky. I pay $200 – $400 PER YEAR to repair. Even in the two weeks following repair that it does work, it repeatedly gets stuck and does not effectively climb the walls. And my pool does not get a lot of debris! Only day 2 of running this but what an improvement! Our old Polaris just stopped working but this new one seems more durable and less components that could go wrong. The setup was simple and it has been working hard trying to get our pool clean! Im dumping out crap out of the bags every several hours! Our last one died this past summer so the new one, has had lots of cleanup to do. I'm so glad we decided to go ahead and purchase a new one instead of fixing the old. For the price the Zodiac MX6 delivered what i was looking for. I needed affordable pool cleaner that would pickup the find debri and scrub the floor and walls of the pool. I didn't know they sold a elite Zodiac MX6 that come with two rubber scrubbers that i needed on my new mx6. I was able to do a little research and found out i could buy the new elite part and it would fit on mine. $29 and one screw it was on and working. The only problem i have is my pump is getting to much air in the line which i can only see the leak is in the reconnecting hoses on the MX6.i figured that shutting off the bottom drains before hooking up MX6 seem to solve most of the problem. Item was delivered next day! The Zodiac MX6 was easy to assemble and get going (took me and my 7yo grandson about 15 minutes). We have a 14×36 in-ground concrete pool that is about 9.5' deep. The skimmer is located near the deep end, but the MX6 seemed to have plenty of hose to reach all areas in the shallow end. We watched it for a few minutes and kept checking on it every half hour or so. It never got hung up or stuck on anything. It cleaned the pool in superb fashion. The PoolCleaner replaced our PoolVac and does an all-around better job. The Pool Vac used to stall over the raised drain covers; the PoolCleaner simply rides over the raised covers. The PoolVac missed some areas around the pool steps; the PoolCleaner cleans every sq. foot of the pool floor. Every year we had to replace the foot pads and side flippers on the PoolVac. The replaceable parts on the PoolCleaner seem much more substantial and I expect we won't have to replace any parts for many years.Montague
I was nervous when I found out Hayward bought out Poolvergneugen.. Im not a fan of Hayward and I almost bought the Pentair version. This is my 3rd Poolvergneugen in many years. It seemed the 2nd one I got was a dud? I only bought the lower rebuild kit and the cleaner wasnt going around the pool very well and it never reached the entire pool, especially the shallow end. I bought the new one and it covers the entire pool very quick! It zips around the pool covering the entire bottom several times over in an 8 hour period! Longevity is yet to be determined. This unit is a step up from my old Hayward Ultra Vac from 10 years back (as it should be). It does an agile job of thoroughly cleaning the pool floor as well as climbing up the walls. I've adjusted the wheel rotation to 13 rpm; that insures when it's on the wall, it goes no higher than the water line. As a result, there's no air suction and loud noise that would freak out my dogs. It rotates up to 360° as needed; it does not get hung up in the 90° angled corners. The unit has a great industrial-modern look that profiles nicely in the pool. The Intex 28620EP is perfect for removing small particles from the floor of our outdoor spa. Since it has NiMH batteries instead of Lithium, it is priced lower and it has enough suction to pick up the debris in its path. It comes with a regular filter and two sock-like bags for capturing very fine particles. It also comes with an extendable pole which lets me reach everywhere in the spa, and it comes with two head attachments for moving around different terrain and angles. It does not come with a charging source, just a USB type cable to connect to a phone or other charging block. Charging takes 6 – 8 hours, and run time is reportedly only about 20 minutes, but that's long enough: I've used it 3 times so far but I'm done in about 10 minutes so it's never run out of power too soon. You do need to move it slowly so as not to stir up the debris, and the power comes on only when it has been submerged and the power switch is on. It is very quiet so you have to watch it work rather than hear it. After years of having difficulty getting the floor of our spa clean, this little unit has made me wish I found it a long time ago.cyberclg
I was worried about this having NiMh batteries instead of LiOn batteries, but I have been using this to clean my Spa for over a month and have not had to recharge yet. I did fully charge it overnight before the first use. I was also worried about the suction power, because I saw several bad reviews about it. It has great suction power, at least when I leave attachments off (I haven't tried them because I want a small focus point for small areas). It pics up all the small particles in all the corners as well as larger leaves. It turns on only when submerged to protect the pump. It is very easy to clean. The telescoping handle makes it easy to reach everywhere in my spa. In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about the negative reviews, I find that most negative reviews are operator error, negative Nellies that can never be satisfied, or the rare lemon that might escape a manufacturer.David A.
Love it! I made sure to directly take it out to use after charging it when the light was green showing it’s ready to suck. Pun intended. I have a 10×20’ intex pool and it took about a half hour or so to cover it completely but picked up the dirt and debris. I have my pool away from trees with leaves so haven’t had to deal with big leaves. But round one of cleaning went great! Glad I didn’t get a robotic one bc this isn’t bad at all!Update. Make sure when you are going for removing algae to put the white sleeve over the black one. You insert the white sleeve into the black one first and make sure the thicker part of the rim of the white one extends completely below where the black ones rubber rim ends otherwise it doesn’t make a good deal when you place them together into the end of the vacuum. Yes, it absolutely cleans the bottom of our 15 x 35 oval above ground pool but it misses a lot of places and needs to be directed one way of another to get the entire bottom. Also, if you have stairs that are at all at an angle it will get stuck behind them over and over again. I solved the stair problem by placing a 5 gallon bucket with a couple large rocks to hold it in place under the stairs. The bucket stops the vacuum from going under the stairs. They sell a larger pool guard for around $35 but this thing is already expensive enough. I would hope they's consider just including the larger pool guard instead of the small one. I think I would try another brand with a larger stair guard before buying this one again.Poppa
Let start saying I am optimistic about anything that would make my life easier. I really want to love this cleaner because I spent months to convince my husband we need one very bad, because it will be cold soon here in north Florida and we will not winterize the pool because my Labrador needs to exercise and she loves to swim. That said, the rest was a fiasco, the thing stay put in the same place not moving, there was parts missing (one of the hoses) and the basket for catching the leaves need to be removed for this thing to work, what makes job very hard when you need to remove the leaves from the pump itself instead the pre-basket. My husband try to move it to another location and it get stuck in the ladder. Move again, same spot, no moving. I told him maybe he did not give time enough to let the cleaner do his thing, but no, does not matter how long you will leave the thing running, it will not get the job done. We have a 24 feet above ground metal wall and it is time consuming to clean it, but my husband get the job done way faster because this thing get nothing done. This item received mixed reviews, but there were more good than bad, so I decided to take a chance. Bad decision. I have a 33' above ground pool. I knew that this only came with 30' of hose, but I figured I would try it out, and if it worked I would buy the extra hose. I received it today, put it together as the pictures showed (I hate instructions with pictures and almost no text), and got it working in the pool. I stood there and watched as it puttered along, in a 20' circle, over, and over, and over again. I tried adjusting the FlowKeeper Valve on all 3 settings, with the same results. I had both of my water jets directed down to the pool floor, as directed, and it kept going in a 20' circle, over, and over, and over again. It won't even deviate to clean any part of the inside of the circle, just the circumference. With taxes I paid just over $157 for this vacuum to be able to automatically clean just under 63 linear feet. That works out to be about $2.50/ft, over, and over, and over again. You can take your chances if you like, but I wouldn't recommend it.I added one star to my original review because I was able to return it for a refund with no problems. After reading other reviews I got the impression that this was not returnable, but that is not the case.Brian

This is a easy way to clean the bottom of pool It works well. You do need to close off the other inlet as that pug is not part of kit. I used a plastic bag and rubber band to hold the bag on inlet head. Once that was put on the vacuum did it's job, note when cleaning the screen on filter take poll off first I dumped water all over me on my first try. I have owned several of these over the past 30 years. My pool guy suggested I get the new star model. From the beginning it never had good suction and was a constant frustration. I finally got so frustrated I bought the upgraded design of the original. The moment I started it up it acted perfectly – just like the old model. Unfortunately, this product just didn't work out for. I owned the zodiac G2 for ten 10 years and never had problems keeping it down and balanced. It would travel up walls and along the entire perimeter of the pool. This kreepy Krauly will not stay balanced or travel evenly throughout the pool. I've tried numerous adjustments with the weights provided with this unit. I'm disappointed and unimpressed by its performance. I wanted to wait until I had used this a few times before writing a review because I had previously purchased a knock off of this product that was an utter disappointment and I returned it. The Pentair Kreepy Krauly worked right out of the box but it has taken me a few times of using it to adjust it ***.so it's perfect. I live in Florida and only use it once a week because I have a screened in pool which is about 22 ft. in length and my pool does not get dirty. I also do not get leaves in my pool because of the screened enclosure. I brush the walls and steps before using the unit. I am really a novice at this and I found that I had to add one more length of hose than the manufacturer recommended to get it to go into the far corner of my pool between my steps and my raised spa. At first it would get caught in that very tight space between the steps and the spa (and I considered removing that extra hose length to remedy it), but instead I turned "up" the water flow attachment speed to "faster" (about a quarter of turn), gave it a few minutes… and then it figured out how to get out of that spot in a short amount of time. I also had to adjust the water flow attachment a number of other times, but only a quarter turn at a time to get it just right so the cleaner did not get stuck on the main drain (turn back the water flow attachment to "slower", which lessens the amount of suction so the cleaner and the main drain don't just keep sucking each other together). My suggestion is when you first set up this unit to set the water flow attachment in the middle between Faster and Slower which I think would eliminate a lot of the adjustments I had to make… and then make your adjustments from there . You could also close your Main drain to accomplish keeping the cleaner from getting stuck on the main drain.. I have also adjusted the singular weight I have on the hose (I only require one weight for my length of pool) so the weight is now closer to the cleaner (maybe 8 inches from the unit) to prevent it from tipping backwards after coming off a wall. You just have to play with all these different things… a little trial and error. After these adjustments, today it worked perfectly. It cleans the pool, climbs the walls and doesn't get stuck in corners or on the main drain. It takes some patience and small adjustments until you get it right but then it does an excellent job of cleaning the pool. I think any pool cleaner you might buy will require adjustments. My pool is spotless and it only takes about 3 hours. After I use it, I wash down my hoses to get the chlorine off, both inside and out, as well as washing down the cleaner itself both inside and out which should prolong the life of the unit. I store it in a pool box (detaching all the hoses which should be laid straight) to protect everything). I highly recommend this unit. Hope this is of some help.M. A.

Bought this pool Vacuum for 18 foot above ground pool. Broke after 2 months of operation. Plastic construction of cleaner is hard to use due the twisting to turn on / off. This is the part that broke at the seem. Battery compartment is ALWAYS wet..hence better design is required. Truly, the brand new batteries ONLY last about 2 hours of continuous use. Returned it with receipt and got full refund. I would NOT reccommnend this product.Medicman1997
Handy vacuum. Works great. Never had a problem twisting it on or off (maybe they've improved it since older reviews?) One small problem though, the seals to the battery compartment don't seal. The battery compartment always gets wet, causing rust/corrosion to build up on the battery ends as well as on the contacts, which eventually lead to it not turning on, with fairly new batteries. Simple solution: when it stops working after a few weeks, clean the battery ends and metal contacts inside the compartment very lightly with a steel wool/SOS pad (only touch one side of the battery at a time with steel wool obviously) dry them off, and spray very lightly with some WD40. I sprayed the spring at the bottom of the compartment as well since i couldn't reach it with steel wool. Works good as new. Make sure to take the batteries out when not in use.WindsorGuy
Bought this to use in my hot tub, and unfortunately it just doesn't work. I've read a lot of reviews stating it is hard to turn on and off – that isn't/hasn't been an issue with mine – the issue has been and continues to be that this "vacum" does not actually "vacum" – it seems to take on water, but it does not pick up sand, leaves, pine needles – or much of anything. I wonder if the water it seems to be picking up is just leaking in through the device – as none of the particles I'm attempting to vacum up are getting removed. Would not recommend at all – save your money, and find another product.SleepingNine

I love this vacuum for my 10' x 30" Intex pool !! Someone reviewed that the suction isn't much, but let me tell you, this does a GREAT job in cleaning any debris on the bottom of my pool. As with any pool vacuum, you just have to go slowly. I have a pine tree over the pool (it was the only space I could put the pool) , so it gets a lot of stuff from that tree. The filter is easy to remove and clean out for the next use. It's a great value!Ybeau

This is a easy way to clean the bottom of pool It works well. You do need to close off the other inlet as that pug is not part of kit. I used a plastic bag and rubber band to hold the bag on inlet head. Once that was put on the vacuum did it's job, note when cleaning the screen on filter take poll off first I dumped water all over me on my first try. It is a very easy way to clean the bottom, with a good price toovernonbman3
