This is a great surface cleaner for my electric pressure washer. I've used it on both wooden and concrete decks and it's worked perfectly on every occasion. There's enough pressure to clean without damaging the wooden decks. Just make sure you keep it moving. Don't let it sit there in one spot without moving it. I liked that this surface cleaner doesn't spread the dirty water onto the walls or glass panels of our glass deck railings, unlike using a stream to pressure wash the decks. Add to that the fact that my cleaning time for the decks has been easily cut by 2/3 if not more. You'll still need to use the normal stream to get into the corners but this makes cleaning big, open areas a breeze. I've used it four times on large decks and I'm very happy with this surface cleaner.Ron L

Pressure cleaning my concrete flatwork has always been a difficult, tedious and time consuming burdensome task. I obtained the Karcher 15" Surface Cleaner in the hope that it would reduce the time and effort required. The Karcher 15” Surface Cleaner proved its worth! The Karcher 15” Surface Cleaner is constructed of a plastic housing with replaceable brush bristle type splash guard skirt that confines the spray to the body of the surface cleaner (hover-cover). Underneath, there are two nozzles mounted to a metal, rotating fixture. The top mechanical assembly for attaching the pressure washer lance is solid brass. It is equipped with a standard ¼” quick-connect fitting for the lance, and it freely rotates for elevation angle. Overall the quality of the Karcher Surface Cleaner appears to be very good. When the algae growth on my concrete driveway gets terribly bad, only the use of a turbo-nozzle will remove it. When the staining is not at its worst, the 15° or 25° pressure tips will do a decent job of removal. However, using either a turbo-nozzle or pressure tip on the large driveway, sidewalk and front walk requires a full day of very hard work. At this time, the algae growth was at a moderate level which would have required about five hours of effort just for the driveway. Once I attached the Karcher 15” Surface Cleaner to the lance and tackled the driveway I was really pleased. The Karcher 15” Surface Cleaner was more effective than a 15° pressure tip, and incredibly faster and easier. Working at the appropriate speed to allow the Karcher Surface Cleaner to do its job properly and effectively, the driveway was finished in less than two hours. This was less than half the time that would have otherwise been required, and with far less effort and back strain. I am very pleased and satisfied with the performance of the Karcher 15” Surface Cleaner, and I am glad to have this time saving and effort reducing accessory.Curmudgeon
Upon first glance, I thought this wouldn't work well but being from Karcher I had hope after all these are the #1 name in pressure washing so I had faith their product would work. And it does! Works well in fact, I thought that it would be hard to move along the concrete but it really isn't that hard, its very manageable. The washer did a great job after my initial learning curve. The only trouble I saw was the fact that as the spinner spins it creates a line on both sides of the washer that has more dwell time so it is prone to tiger striping, but during the initial learning curve, I learned to deal with that and my driveway came out looking very good and bright white, with a few stripes. The secret is go slower. The other issue was that it doesn't remove the dirt it loosens it up so as I was cleaning the driveway I would do a section then disconnect the attachment and spray the already completed section down with the actual pressure washer, that was quick and easy just really chasing the loose dirt off the clean section. For what I paid I am very satisfied and would recommend this product. Honestly, I can't think of any cons to this product, very simple and effective, would be nice if it had wheels instead of brushes but then again I didn't want to pay 150 bucks for one.Frank B.
I bought this a few days ago and cleaned a large area of concrete pavers with it on a generic 5.5hp pressure pump. I've cleaned these pavers before with a wand and turbo head and this is good too. However the Karcher is more even in its clean (not so many streak lines) and much easier on my back. You also don't get much water and dirt blown up as the bristle skirt contains it all. It is quicker than the turbo head also. You'll still need a turbo head to clean the edge of a surface that abuts a wall as the Karcher leaves about an inch uncleaned. Cleaner, quicker and easier. Worth the money in my view.Rob

After a failed attempt to use another brand surface cleaner, I read several 1 and 2 star reviews on the Generac and did not find any of the issues that plagued the first brand (jets spinning slowly or not at all). I am very pleased with the performance of this cleaner, it works exactly as I expected it should. After cleaning a double driveway and walks that had not been done in years, the surface looked great with not streaks. The ease of use and simplicity of the Generac cleaner was really good and I could not be more pleased!

So far I have cleaned half of my driveway. I used the Simpson 80166Cleaning Surface Cleaner with my Simpson Cleaning ALH3228-S, 3400 PSI, 2.5 GPM, pressure washer. It was 35-50% faster than using the wand alone. Because of the size of my pressure washer there were times the surface cleaner would attempt come off the concrete but was not that hard to hold down. I was able to make slow left-right sweeps with only a third overlap and not see any cleaning patterns on the concrete. After finishing for the day I lubricated the two washers and the o-ring bushing inside the spin arm. A 5mm allen wrench is required to remove the spin arm. This was recommended by a few reviews for several different brands of surface cleaners. If you do not have a surface cleaner for your pressure washer then get one and be very happy afterwards.oillogger
We acquired this product for cleaning our deck, patios, and driveway. The first time we used it, it was great. Tried using it yesterday and it worked for an hour and then quit. No matter what we did (disassembling and cleaning and applying marine grease) it would not work. To say that we are not happy that it failed after only one use would be an understatement.Bruce23851
Used this product for about 30 minutes when I decided to take a rest break. Shut the power washer off, then turned the surface scrubber upside down and depressed the spray gun to remove the pressure from the system. I noticed that water came out of only one of the two spray nozzles but also came out of the center device (shaft) to which the two spray arms are attached. So, the device was not delivering water where it should have and was delivering water where it should not. I removed the clogged nozzle for inspection and cleaning. The cleaning tool that came with the scrubber would not eject the clogged material because it was so tightly embedded. Since the nozzle hole is so small, I had to use a sewing needle to insert into the hole many times with great force to dislodge the obstruction which I have keep in case the manufacturer would like to inspect it. I am confident that the obstruction was due to a manufacturing error since this was the first time I used the scrubber. After reinstalling the nozzle, the scrubber worked much better than before. It was not apparent to me why the center device to which the nozzle arms are attached was leaking or what could be done to correct it, so I proceeded to use scrubber for the remainder of my driveway cleaning without correcting that issue.TW99

Love, love, love this thing! So much easier and neater than just using a wand and much faster! The wheels make it easy to maneuver. I attached it to my handle which puts it further away but also allows me to use my other hand on the wand to make it super easy to control.The skirt that goes around it keeps all that mess from blowing back up at you. Bigger isnt better in this case.I hooked this to my Honda 160cc, 2800 psi, 2.3gpm and its plenty powerful enough. Ive had it for many years and if you take care of the pump on them, theyll last. Use the right hose (3/4") and the right high pressure line (<75) and itll rock. I see people hook 1/2" hoses to a 5gpm pressure washer and wonder why it doesnt work right. Its simple math. Ive also seen people use 100+ high pressure hoses and not understand why they dont have more pressure. It comes down to being smarter than what youre working with. So far So good. I took it out of the box hooked it up to a 3200 psi Honda power washer and I cleaned a 20×30 foot section of really dirty concrete in less than 45 minutes. Thats a least 5 times faster than using just a wand alone. Ill bet in a few years it would pay for its self in water savings. Comes with 2 extension pieces but I found that using only one section of the extension pieces was best for me. Easier to control and move around. The wheels made it glide over the surface. My shoes go wet but thats about all. It is stainless steel and came with extra spray tips. Should last a while. Just wanted to make sure it worked OK. WOW DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY THIS (18) I was really skeptical when I purchased it. Now I am Extremely happy I did. It does an extraordinary job cleaning and it is so easy to maneuver. It took about no effort to set it up and use. If you can put a tip into a pressure washer wand you can easily attach this and use it, takes 5-10 seconds. It literally cuts off 80 of time(work) off my driveway, patio and side walk. So easy and fast I did my neighbors side walk too. We bought this pressure cleaner to clean our patio and concrete around the pool. We just installed a new pool liner and wanted to clean the area before putting the patio furniture back around the pool. According to my husband, the machine was very easy to put together. The instructions are easy to follow. It is easy to maneuver and the different nozzles makes it versatile. The machine is heavy enough to support its weight and not tip over, but light enough to move without help. My husband first tested it out using just water. We were AMAZED at the dirt it lifted and moved just from the pressure supplied by this machine. Although we have cleaned both areas several times with a long-handled brush and soap/water, neither area had ever been pressured washed in almost twenty years, so the grime was quite deep. My husband added pressure-washer cleaner and cleaned the entire area in one afternoon. Seeing him work, inspired me to clean the patio furniture, so he taught me how to run the machine. I’m 60 years old and weigh 133 lbs, and I could use the machine with ease. He did crank it up for me due to my right arm’s arthritis, but it only took him 2 pulls. I think a person without any muscle problems could have done it without any help. I’m ending with a praise report for this purchase. The price was terrific! I bought this yesterday from Lowes. The wait was difficult. I was disappointed Lowes is not carrying this IN store. Regardless, I did eventually receive the pressure washer. I have not had an opportunity to operate it as of yet so, this review is based on my initial observations. First, the packaging was well done. Everything was secure and all parts were within the box secure and undamaged. Assembly was very straight forward and minimal. The design layout is wonderful. Included is an easily attached upper AND lower wand bracket. Attaching the upper nozzle bracket requires removing a bolt, washer and nut from the front bracket. Westinghouse even thought forward enough that this bolt is not tightly secured so removing it not only is effortless, but easy to understand because that bolt is clearly visible. I really appreciated that. It took a moment to figure out the "push rivet", but it made itself clear eventually. I like that the pump is mounted in the rear, not under the engine, which will make winterizing the pump effortless this fall. This machine is well thought out! My wife and I researched pressure washers and this machine had 4.5 stars out of nearly 800 reviews! That sold us. I like also that the wheels are larger than normal which will make it easier to maneuver and a front foot is included (it need only be attached with a simple nut). The soap reservoir is well mounted and very accessible, another plus for Westinghouse. I had this machine together in less than half an hour. This pressure washer arrived while my husband was traveling and since I am the one who loves to pressure wash I really wanted to get it going. Assembly and start-up were fairly straightforward. Good packaging of parts for assembly (separate bags and clearly labeled). I agree with other reviewers the Quick Set-up Guide is not the best as it is missing information about necessary tools to assemble, and you really need to be able to read the instructions and follow the diagrams correctly. Fortunately, I had the Allen wrenches, etc. needed and since there were not many pieces to put together it was ready to fire up in about 15-20 minutes. (If you are mechanically inclined I'm sure it would take less time.) The instructions to start the unit were clear and it started running on the first cord pull. After about 10 minutes of use there was a sputter, some smoke, and a smell coming from the carburetor, but it must have just been some new machine burn off as it didn't happen again – but this unit does get hot! Watch where you touch it. Didn't try the soap compartment yet (need specific pressure washer soap), and I think it may take some testing of the different nozzles to get a feel for which works best for what job. The stucco walls and wood plank ceiling of the screen porch came out great. Did need some mold & mildew remover to get some of the bad stains off, but looks so much better. I was anxious to put it immediately to use but found it to couldn't function properly. Both jets were clogged with traces of rust. Fortunately, I had a similar experience with a smaller one recently. I had to remove the jets, clean with a wire tool (not included) and lubricate. Found my 15" KARCHER surface cleaner to be more effective.bison7956

After modifying the unit to prevent the flex joint inside the unit from "blowing apart" it worked find. The pins holding the pressure flex inlet together ripped the plastic apart, used screws installed to prevent the flex joint from coming apart. This is fine for low pressure electric pressure cleaners but do not use on a higher pressure cleaner.canam175

I had never heard of this brand surface cleaner, so at first I was skeptical of purchasing it but after looking around it was the best priced one that I found. I ended up giving it a try and Im glad I did. This surface cleaner connected to the right pressure washer can tackle any job you come up against. It is very sturdy and powerful. I have already cleaned several driveways and 2 hotel breezeways with it and it does an excellent job getting close against the sides of buildings. I recently started a pressure washing company. I wanted to buy a second surface cleaner and ended up buying this one. I bought this one because of the size and casters. My other surface cleaner is 2 inches bigger with no casters.When I first used this surface cleaner, the difference was night and day with mobility. It glided effortlessly over surfaces. The majority of my work so far has been residential. My one major complaint is that it is nearly impossible to clean the edges of sidewalks, walkways, patios, and street gutters that have grass or loose gravel along the border. The casters stick out pretty far and get caught up on the grass or gravel making it impossible to get close enough to clean the edges. I had to use my other surface cleaner to go back and do the edges.Aside from not being able to clean the edges on certain properties, this thing is amazing and does speed up time.Daniel R.
The surface cleaner is really nicely built and moves well with my 4gpm washer. The only things bad I have to say about it are that the trigger doesnt stay open well so I just zip-tied it and used a ball valve to stop/start it. The other thing is the wheels. I really dont recommend getting one with wheels. Its hard to get around stuff like grass when you're doing the edges and its really easy to miss stuff. I dont write many reviews but I really liked this product. The product was easy to use right out of the box. Pull back sleeves on the quick connector fittings and attach the extensions together. It even came with extra o-rings in case you later developed a leak. The quick connector fittings were a little tight with the initial connect to my pressure washer, but as I changed from back and forth between the surface cleaner andmy pressure washer nozzles it got easier to install. I have a Sun Joe SPX3500 Electric Pressure Washer which is rated to generate up to 2300 PSI and I turned it up to its highest setting and with that I didnt even use a cleaner on my sidewalks and driveway, which hadnt been cleaned in three years and had thick buildup of dirt and plant matter from flower pots and trees which drape all over and our 4 vehicles and it still came clean with just a few easy multiple passes, similar to a vacuum cleaner type motion, just a little slower. The grime on my sidewalks was pretty thick and I did see some swirl marks without any cleaner, but with a 1 to 1 ratio of Simple Green sprayed on with a garden pump sprayer that went away too. I attached a 40 degree pressure to rinse and everything looks great. I bought this particular surface cleaner based on the reviews, as many said how little problems they had and how well it was built compared to others. I have now only used it a couple of times for a couple of hours each time but so far it has been great.Ray E.
I am quire impressed with the construction at this price. I bought this because it looked to be much more substantial than the slightly less expensive Briggs and Stratton unit I have, and it is. Very solid construction and design, but too heavy for my 2800 PSI pressure washer and puny arms. It doesnt get enough lift from the spray to float over surfaces and binds on rough surfaces like concrete and asphalt unless I hold if up off the ground. The much lighter Briggs floats over surfaces at 2800 PSI. I expect this would get greater lift at a higher pressures and be less work to use. Its fine on the deck where the "bristles" dont grab the surface, but Im cleaning a 2000 sq ft driveway. I would spend the extra 20 for the model with wheels and spare jets for that job, which I will probably do.These surface cleaners are also good for cleaning house siding, but for me, its just too heavy to hold up on the side of the house, so its going back.WaltR

The durable structure is usefull when cleaning surfaces where rocks and other debris could damage the unit. For anyone who has not owned one of these before, it is quite the treat in reducing the amount of time it takes to clean a surface. We have used ours for our wooden deck and it has performed as expected. One of the nice features of using these types of attachments, is that it gives the operator more contr,ol. Typically, we have found using only a pressurized tip that we were chipping away at parts of the deck inadvertantly. With these, we can clean a larger area, uniformly without over cleaning and damaging the surface. Driveway cleaning has netted similar results. Overall a very nice and durable unit. After the second time using it, IT QUIT SPINNING. I took it apart using an allen wrench and took the nozzles off to inspect for anything that might be clogging it. Soaked them in Lime-Away to loosen any mineral deposits that might have been in the nozzles, scraped the insides with toothpicks, rinsed thoroughly with water. There was no way to really grease it so I just poured some 5W-20W oil on it. It will still not spin when the pressure washer is turned on.AverageJoe
What normally would take me 2 to 2 1/2 hours to clean my driveway with my regular wand, I was able to do it in less then 45 min using this. I cleaned my walkways and patio too. It was actually fun using this. I used this with a 2700 psi power washer. I would recommend this to anyone who has cleaned the above with just using a spray tip on the wand. You will save a lot of time using this and actually have fun doing it. I even had neighbors watch me after they asked me what it was and where did it get it. Just another thought. Don't use the wand that came with your power washer. Purchase a longer wand. It will make it easier on your back .joemurgy
