I purchased the Sebo Airbelt D4 vaccuum without a powerhead about a year or so ago from Mr Vac & Mrs Sew. I recently placed a call to re-order vacuum bags and to price the ET-1 and ET-2 power head for my D4 vacuum cleaner. I live in Florda and have tile & throw rugs, but I also have a pet and have to contend with pet hair. Originally, I didn't think I needed a power head so I ordered without, I was wrong. When I called Mr Vac & Mrs Sew I spoke with Lisa. What a professional. She is easy to communicate with and she took the time to speak to me and not rush our coversation. She is not only informative but very easy to talk with, bottom line, I purchased both items. The vacuum bags are oversized compared to my previous Meile vaccuum and they do a great job and I love the ET-1 power head, it's everything I hoped it would be and maybe more. GREAT For Simple Jobs Only! I use this to suck up drainage from my plant pots and that's it! I wouldn't really recommend this for large job but for simple jobs and small clean up it is absolutely perfect. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of this reason. This is not a heavy duty, large job site vac but really great for small shop stuff. The hose is diameter is smaller than my Shopvac so you can't pick up larger pieces. The hose is also not that long and easily comes free from the main unit with a tug so keep that in mind also. For small spaces or easy and simple clean up jobs this thing is AMAZING for the price!! This unit replaced my worn-out Nutone system that I bought new and used for over fourteen years. The VX-550 was a little more powerful than needed for the square footage in my 2-story home, but I'm glad I selected the larger motor as the suction has been great. The larger filter bag with the indicator lights is a real plus…with two heavily shedding dogs, I was always trying to guess when to change the old 5-gallon bags. Now the guesswork is a thing of the past! I hope this unit lasts at least as long as the old one! My only concern is possibly about the installation. Installed by an authorized dealer, the wiring connections are exposed and don't look protected. I hope this isn't an electrical issue that impacts the performance of my central vac. unit.NutoneHappy
Our VX550 Central Vacuum system has been in operation for more than 5 years. It performs exceedingly well for our 4,500 sq ft ranch style home. The suction at all outlets is very good. We have not had any problems with the unit. I really like the bag metering system so I know when to empty the bag. It has been a significant improvement from our previous central vacuum system. It is less noisy and has better suction. Although it is less noisy, it is not exactly quiet so it must be placed so as to minimize noise intrusion into the house. The only other minor complaint that I have about this unit is the bag is difficult to replace. This is a minor issue in that the bag only needs to be replace/dumped every 6 months or so. Overall, it is an excellent central vacuum system and I highly recommend it.
First replacing the bag is very easy. Ie MAD-EASY and loved it! The vacuum is a compact and efficient design. It's well designed and I'm sure that most home owners will never have a problem. Like all products 1 in 10000 customers run into problems The statement below is my experience but remember it could be bad luck. I used the machine daily and after about 1.4 years the motor sounded louder. It then created black dust that covered the plastic (i.e. brushes being burned up because the bearing was failing). After another 1.6 years the motor gave out. I could replace the motor but it will take me a weeks to get the parts. So decided to replace the unit and I will fix it for another home that we own(That unit is 33 years old). After owning several homes with central vacuums this marks the first time I have ever had a central vacuum die so quickly(Homes range 12-43 years old).
