Best Product For Thin Fine Hair (2025 Update)

Swell did absolutely nothing for my hair. I have thin, fine hair and was recommended this product after reaching out to them on instagram (really good customer service though!). But this did not make my hair appear thicker or feel fuller as it says on the bottle. Disappointed 🙁Julie

The actual product is amazing, it helps add volume to my hair but still feels clean and smells great. My problem is just with the container- the first time I went to open the lid, it broke off at the super flimsy hinge. I have to say I'm really surprised at how well this stuff works! I have super fine, thin hair that typically at the bottom you can see through. It feels a little thicker but more than that it looks thicker. So far so good!Teresa

I have an oily scalp with wavy waist length thick hair (many thin/low porosity strands). Color treated blonde. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. That being said, transitioning into warmer, humid spring/summer weather, I’m really pleased to have found this product. It’ll be great for clean summer hair.jessicaeve1023

For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. Anyway I totally recommend this set and if you're getting greasy hair from this set try the medium or fine hair set. This just probably isn't for your hair type. I had been looking for a new hair shine spray. I have medium/dark brown hair with blonde highlights, and my hair is very dry and damaged from using heat and dying/bleaching in the past. I’ve had my hair colored in just about every color you could think of so my hair is very damaged. It’s getting way better now but a few months ago it was completely unmanageable. I like using shine sprays because they make your hair so much healthier and glossy looking. My current shine spray is Garnier Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray. It was only 7 dollars, has great ingredients, and gives amazing shine without looking or feeling greasy. I had been thinking about getting this matrix shine spray for awhile. Ulta was having a huge sale on matrix products so I used that opportunity to pick this up. It was only 10 dollars so I got it half off. I usually LOVE matrix products, and even though they’re pricey they tend to be worth it especially when you have more problematic hair. This was a disappointment. First of all the smell is terrible. Usually their products smell great but this literally smells like those lemon hand wipes you get in little single packets. It’s not unbearable but definitely not a good smell especially for a hair product. Nobody wants their hair to smell like lemon scented cleaning supplies. Good thing the smell doesn’t last because it’s not a good one for a hair product. Now, I could put that behind me if the product worked well but it didn’t. It literally didn’t add any shine or gloss to the hair. It didn’t feel heavy or greasy or sticky on the hair, but it was basically like it did nothing. Since I got this half off I wasn’t TOO mad but still disappointed. I’ve tried a lot of matrix products and this was the first one that had been disappointing. Definitely don’t recommend. I hesitated to buy given the mixed reviews but have had great results. Worked much like a good mousse but easier to apply and less residue. My hair type is thick (as in a lot of hair) but fine (as in the texture is straight and silky) so it pretty much lays against my head. With the product applied before blow styling, I get crazy volume for a couple days. Love that washing my hair daily isn't mandatory due to product build-up/residue.LisaSTL

I hardly ever use a product until I empty the bottle. Sometimes I get bored with a product, sometimes I don’t really feel like the product does much, so I will put it on the shelf and forget about it. This was not the case with the thickening treatment! I used it daily and loved what it did to my hair. On top of the long term affects of the treatment, I also loved how it calmed down my root area (which can be a little frizzy) and made my hair feel manageable, shiny, and healthy. This scent is very light and subtle. It did not smell too perfume-y or like chemicals either… The thing I loved the most about this product is it did not make my hair feel dirty or like I had a bunch of product in my hair. I cannot stand feeling product in my hair and it is probably the main reason why I tend to shelf most products before they are empty! I can’t say enough about this product. I lost half my hair from iron deficiency and had to cut the rest very short to match up to new hair growth but was still very thin overall. The first time i used this on my damp hair after my normal styling products,my hair looked instantly twice as thick. Even my mom said my hair looked suddenly thicker without me even pointing it out. I def recommend this if you have fine strands and thinning hair. Ive also been using the intensive growth drops on my scalp for about 3 months. I will never buy these products ever again. I used the thickening treatment, growth drops, and root spray one time. It completely changed the texture of my hair, made it rough and hard and when I combed my hair it came out it clumps. I lost about 3-4 inches of hair because of these products. I had shoulder length hair and now my hair is to my ears. It ended up being choppy and uneven, and I had to cut the damaged hair off. I am completely devastated and just cried seeing how these products ruined my hair. I wouldn't recommend these products to no one. I have to go through a hot summer wearing wigs now. I cannot describe in words how livid I am. Worst products I ever used. I hate this company. I received the Living Proof full thickening mousse free for review from PINCHme and I've honestly really enjoyed this product. This mousse is said to boost volume while holding your style and I would definitely agree with that claim. Its lightweight and smells quite nice. It's not a super airy mousse but it's not super dense either. It doesn't evaporate right away but it's not heavy or sticky at all. I have pretty long hair so instead of the standard egg size I typically use maybe two egg size dallops. It has been way too hot and humid here lately to do much with my hair, and while the directions say to blow-dry, I just can't. I apply it to my damp hair right after my shower and then I tie it up in a bun. When it's fully dry and I let it down, it's so full of volume and the texture is lovely. The waves are beautiful and they do hold all day. Many products of this type cause my hair to get frizzy and almost static like but this one doesn't do that. I get no flyaways or frizz with this mousse and my hair smells so great. It's a nice, light clean smell, very subtle. I've really enjoyed using this product and I would definitely recommend it. Oh, and I like the packaging as well. The button you press to dispense the mousse is a nice solid button. For those of us that have hands and fingers that might not work so well, I had no issues.ARain

For Baby Fine Hair People: This works! It's the only product I've found that actually makes my genuinely baby fine hair look thicker and appear to have some body. The effect lasts all day and onto the next if you decide not to wash your hair every day. I use it sparingly and blow dry carefully though, because it does make your hair a little stickier before it's dried. That can cause baby fine hair to break when combing. So use it, be very gentle when combing or brushing, and enjoy. This product works better for my baby fine hair than the Living Proof Full Thickening Cream. I found that product to be too greasy and it weighs my baby fines down. I wrote a long review about the LP Thickening Cream and dealing with baby fine hair in case that's helpful to anyone. My one complaint about LP products, or any in general, is fragrance. I'm picky about scents and would never wear this scent as a perfume, so why would I want it anywhere on my body? I wish all these products had a fragrance-free version.asnetall

On Baby Fine Hair and this product: I have real baby fine hair. Lots of people talk about having baby fine hair, but really don't. It's a mixed blessing. Straight baby fine hair is so smooth that clips, bands, etc. can slide out of it unless there's silicone on the inside of a clip to grip the hair. If your baby fine hair is light in color, it may be almost see-through when backlit. This is not great if you want to feel like you have a nice full head of hair. If you take a strand of baby fine hair and hold it parallel to the floor, the strand itself is such a small diameter that it forms almost a sharp 90-degree angle hanging straight down from the edge of your fingers; no curve of any sort as it hangs down. It's hard for straight baby fine hair to hold a curl unless you do harsh stuff to make it hold. That, in turn, damages your hair. Almost any processing damages baby fine hair. It's also very easy to break strands of baby fine hair so you have to comb or brush carefully. Baby fine hair will blow everywhere if there's the slightest breeze. In my case, that means I've always got messy hair. Light baby fine hair is a pain if it gets blown onto your face or into your eyelashes. You can feel it's there, but it's hard to see the individual delicate strands and hard to detect them with your fingers. That's the scoop on baby fines. You live with it and figure out how to deal with it. BUT, straight baby fine hair can be so shiny and smooth that it can look and feel as luxurious as silk when it's in good condition. Like babies' hair! This can be lovely if your hair is thick enough. I've tried this product as directed with bad results. The product is too oily or thick even when put on extremely sparingly, so it weighs my hair down, making it look unwashed and stringy. So, I decided to try to use it as a rinse after shampooing, and have had better luck. I distribute it throughout the hair from roots to tips and then rinse it out. Baby fine hair people will feel a kind of stickiness or roughness once it is rinsed out, and will have to comb their hair carefully so as not to break it, but it adds product in just the right amount for real baby fine hair to have some bounce and look thicker without weighing it down or making it look greasy. It's not going to be a dramatic difference though. I have had far better luck with the Living Proof Thickening Mousse. After trying what feels like hundreds of conditioners, mousses and creams that did nothing, LP Mousse has been my go-to product. It's the only product I've found that makes my hair look thicker and that lasts all day looking great. It makes me feel almost like I have normal-people-hair! But I take breaks. I found that blow-drying damages my hair too easily, and the mousse, although super effective at making my hair look thicker and giving it more body, makes my hair sticky enough that I break hair easily, even when combing gently. So, Baby Fine Sisters take note. You have to handle your hair really gently with these products. Personally, I'd opt for the LP mousse over the cream, and be gentle with my hair. I was excited to try this as I have fine, silky hair that often looks flat, so if I'm going to use a product, I want it to provide some grit/texture and volume. I think it product provides *some* texture but not nearly as much as I would like and I don't really get any volume. It kind of just dries like hairspray in my hair- making it clump together a little. I've tried using just a small amount (which does nothing) and I've tried using a lot (which I felt kind of just weighs my hair down). I've let my hair air dry with it and I've blown it dry with the product in it, and I just don't see any volume or lift at the root. Bummer. I also wanted to comment on the scent. It smells like plastic pineapples. Not bad but I don't love it and I've used other B&B products that smell better. I usually use a mouse that I get from my hair salon to create texture and grit in my hair, and I think I'll keep using that product over this one. This spray definitely thickens hair, but you have to act quickly and begin your blowout right after applying it; it's not volumizing in and of itself, so if you want a bit of lift instead of just denser hair strands the blowout is essential. I did find that it coated my hair and weighed it down a little if I didn't use volumizing spray at my roots, and my hair is medium thickness and straight, but I can see this being difficult to work with if you have curly or thicker strands. I didn't try it with any smoothing products, but I wonder if that might counteract the volumizing properties if you're trying to control frizz while enhancing thickness. I recommend using it sparingly, because it can take on a greasy texture if you use too much. The smell dissipates, but the initial scent is reminiscent of black licorice and slightly chemical.tidewaterbeauty

This is brilliant but I don't use it too often…it's laden with alcohol which isn't good for hair in the long run. Previously I tried the B&B Thickening Shampoo which made my hair limp, so I wasn't too sure what to expect with the spray. I needn't have worried! I spray this on my hair whilst damp and then blow dry it, and I find my hair is bouncier and has more volume, absolutely no crunch or stickiness. My hair is naturally quite thick and many products I spray on end up making it turn frizzy. This didn't do that. It also didn't cause my scalp to itch. This is my first foray into pomades, and I was braced for something between a hair oil and the crunchy gels of the 80s. I was pleasantly surprised to find Cremo delivered something far better. This pomade is a solid hold, especially when worked through do hair, and it holds for 24 hours, if not longer. I've been able to mist water on my hair and comb it back into place after sleeping for a second day's hold. It doesn't have a strong smell, which is great — nothing to compete with my aftershave and cologne. I have 3a/b curly hair, ringlets with big volume and I thought I'd never be able to wear my hair straight without using a straightener religiously. And with this product alone, I can wear my hair slicked back and mostly straight in a Peaky Blinders cut. That's the kind of hold Cremo delivers, and I'm a convert for life. Last year, my wife tried to get me my old styling cream, which is something I usually do myself at the salon after a cut, and couldn't find it. I recently received this Cremo Thickening Styling Paste #freeproduct from #trywithtopbox to try in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time my fiancé is trying a styling paste, he usually uses hair glue for his hair. He found that the product was easy to use and work into his hair. The texture of the paste is really soft and not at all sticky or tacky. It however does not have as much hold as his usual hair glue. He actually has pretty thick hair to begin with so he couldn't tell if there was a thickening effect. However, he said he really loved the scent of product. Most hair styling products he has tried usually smells waxy or has a overwhelming perfumy scent. This one smells like an old fashioned barber shop. My stylist recommended to me to help with my thinning hair. I was at the point where I was considering a wig. My hair has returned and is thick and shiny. The shampoo has a really clean smell. I have very thin, long, flat and oily hair. This product gives my hair volume without making it look greasy or weighed down. I originally became hooked on it because my stylist used it in their salon. Working from the ends to the roots, I apply it to damp hair. In my experience, this product really smooths, controls frizz, and adds shine. My hair usually gets frizzy and flyaways after blow drying, but after using this product, I didn't get either of those, and it helped reduce drying time. As a result, I had silky smooth hair with an amazingly healthy shine, and my flyaways were tamed. It didn't make my hair look heavy, oily or as if I used any products. I'm generally pretty leary of serum type products because my hair is fairly fine/thin and products like this usually weigh it down and make it look like I need to wash my hair again. I was really nervous because it's a bit thicker than other serum products I've used before that were too heavy, but somehow it doesn't weigh my hair down or make it greasy. It smooths the cuticle and makes it so silky. i thought it was only for blow-drying, but I applied it and let my naturally medium/fine, wavy hair air dry and it actually looked good! Normally, letting my hair air dry with my natural wave is NOT cute. It's just puffy and frizzy. This gives my waves defined shape and holds even when I brush thru it. I applied it lightly over my roots as well as I used it more often and it STILL didn't grease my hair up, it's crazy!! Wonderful all around smoothing product to use before blow-drying OR air-drying. I've been so impressed with Paul Mitchell's products. I have thin hair, but plenty of it. And I actually bought this conditioner to try out before it was sent to me by Influenster, so I have a whole other bottle in waiting and I am really happy about this! This conditioner is thick and creamy and does a great job of making my hair soft and smooth and hydrated after using the matching shampoo, which can strip it down a bit. It smells nice (fresh and flowery, not heavy at all), and most importantly, my hair looks and feels great after washing. For me, I have to pick a conditioner with little to no silicones because it just weighs my hair down so fast. This one does not do that at all – my hair feels soft and light after it’s dry, really healthy feeling. It didn’t add volume for me, but I don’t think conditioner can really do that – the important thing is that it didn’t weigh my hair down and make it looks sad and flat and greasy. My hair looks voluminous because there’s no weight, I love it. I also think this shampoo and conditioner are really reasonably priced for a more mid-range salon brand. I was really disappointed in this shampoo that I purchased as part of a volumebloom set. I have fine hair (chin length) and expected volume. My hair unfortunately remained flat, even after blow-drying with a quality hair dryer. The smell is fantastic, the hair is smooth, but there is zero volume (the volume was the purpose of my purchase). Not sure why my hair remained flat, perhaps due to the creamy texture. I tried multiple ways e.g. only putting conditioner to end, no conditioner etc. , still flat. It is an expensive disappointment. I keep searching for a shampoo and conditioner. Not what I expected. My hair found its soulmate! My first impression was a great one; beautiful and sleek bottle design. I popped open the cap and let my sense of smell guide me and I was extremely pleased. This shampoo has a wonderous scent; it made me feel like I was transported to a high end salon; it has a soft scent that isn't overpowering and doesn't smell like chemicals. Biolage smells crisp and clean and the scent stays within the hair for hours after shampooing. I literally couldn't stop smelling my own hair, it is fantastic. Now, I have pretty thin hair and most products that promise to "volumize" your hair have never really held up for me but after only one use my hair had a noticeable difference. I actually got great volume from Biolage, my hair had a luxury sheen, it left my hair feeling incredibly soft and my fingers would just glide through my hair without getting tangled; my husband even noticed that my hair had more volume and he loved the scent as well. Once hearing that it was discontinued, I was a bit panicked. I was told that this was the new replacement for it. I was super hesitant and didn't think it would work nearly as well as Instantly Thick (I have VERY fine hair, and that product visibly made my hair SO much thicker). I was really, really worried about not getting that thickness in this new product. I bought the Dream Big Volume Thickening Cream from Shoppers and thankfully was not let down. Mind you.. it is a totally different formula. After using this product, I realize how sticky and weighed down Instantly Thick made my hair. With this stuff, my hair feels SO light and even raised above my head (yay volume!). The thickness IS there too, thank goodness. Is is the same amazing amount of thickness that Instantly Thick delivered…maybe not QUITE. This is why I didn't give the product 5 stars. Either way, this is an excellent substitution. Give it a try. And if you haven't been doing so, USE WITH MOUSSE! Makes a massive difference to thickness and volume.Sarah

This product is heavenly! I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to try and review this product complimentary in exchange for my honest opinion from Influenster. First off, I LOVE the scent. It’s the North Bondi scent which is my favorite scent from Ouai. The packaging I would describe as minimalistic chic and the spray nozzle is fine and distributes the perfect amount of product into my fine and thin hair. The product itself is great at giving my hair some much needed lift and volume whether I’m air drying or blowing it out. It doesn’t feel crunchy or heavy in my hair which is important because I only wash my hair twice a week and I don’t want any build up or greasy feel. My hair has luscious volume and feels super soft. When I run out I will be repurchasing this product because it’s my new favorite.jennifer.b

ok I must confess that I did not believe in this type of product, I had not used something similar before. This product has surprised me because it gives my hair volume but leaves it sticky or greasy. dries immediately and does not leave a texture on the hair. I have little hair and very thin and this spray gives me volume without affecting movement. the hair is not stiff and straight, it continues to have movement and it looks natural. something that stands out is that it does not leave residues on the hair like fixatives or other spray products. the smell is pleasant, a few drops are enough. I applied it to my root after drying my hair and the result is great. I recommend it if you want to add vomit to your hair and it also works with collected hairstyles that need to give volume to a layer of hair. I love him ❤️paty.g

I had been looking for a new hair shine spray. I have medium/dark brown hair with blonde highlights, and my hair is very dry and damaged from using heat and dying/bleaching in the past. I’ve had my hair colored in just about every color you could think of so my hair is very damaged. It’s getting way better now but a few months ago it was completely unmanageable. I like using shine sprays because they make your hair so much healthier and glossy looking. My current shine spray is Garnier Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray. It was only 7 dollars, has great ingredients, and gives amazing shine without looking or feeling greasy. I had been thinking about getting this matrix shine spray for awhile. Ulta was having a huge sale on matrix products so I used that opportunity to pick this up. It was only 10 dollars so I got it half off. I usually LOVE matrix products, and even though they’re pricey they tend to be worth it especially when you have more problematic hair. This was a disappointment. First of all the smell is terrible. Usually their products smell great but this literally smells like those lemon hand wipes you get in little single packets. It’s not unbearable but definitely not a good smell especially for a hair product. Nobody wants their hair to smell like lemon scented cleaning supplies. Good thing the smell doesn’t last because it’s not a good one for a hair product. Now, I could put that behind me if the product worked well but it didn’t. It literally didn’t add any shine or gloss to the hair. It didn’t feel heavy or greasy or sticky on the hair, but it was basically like it did nothing. Since I got this half off I wasn’t TOO mad but still disappointed. I’ve tried a lot of matrix products and this was the first one that had been disappointing. Definitely don’t recommend. I’ll just stick to my garnier spray for now I guess.victoria.d

I have really thin and fine hair. Using the Biolage Volumebloom product line complete by setting my style with Volumebloom Full-Lift Spray is just amazing. I can highly recommend this to everyone dealing with fine and thin hair like mine. My hair has never ever looked so shiny, full bodied and volumized without any added weight or falling flat on me. I hesitated to buy given the mixed reviews but have had great results. Worked much like a good mousse but easier to apply and less residue. My hair type is thick (as in a lot of hair) but fine (as in the texture is straight and silky) so it pretty much lays against my head. With the product applied before blow styling, I get crazy volume for a couple days. Love that washing my hair daily isn't mandatory due to product build-up/residue.LisaSTL

I have very fine hair that's been getting thinner and thinner. Using this did add volume, although my hair was, of course, not as silky or soft. I used about 10 sprays (15 seemed excessive) on damp hair, and let it dry by itself. I worried that I would need a blow dryer, but it added some volume without that, which surprised me. It has a very strong coconut smell, which was pleasant at first, but rapidly gave me a bit of a headache. If you are used to fragrance, it may not be so bad! On my hair, it felt sort of like a liquid mousse. Overall, I'm impressed that this product added volume without needing a blowdryer. My hair was not sticky, although it was a bit rougher than normal. I am really impressed with the whole line of products. I've suffered from a chronic medical illness for a long time and my hair has suffered. It was dry, lifeless, dull and thinning a lot. I've been using this series of products for 8 weeks and monitoring my hair loss during this time. I cannot believe the difference and neither can my husband. My long hair has shine, body and is soft. The ends look nice from the serum. The hair loss has decreased by three quarters of what it was. That includes what was in the drain and from the hair brushes weekly. I saved the piles from week to week to compare. I really love this product and have had GREAT LUCK with it.Rae

First impressions: nice looking bottle; great, but not overpowering tropical smell- it smells like pineapple to me; easy application; noticed a lifting of the finer hair, especially near my part that has thinned out over time. I used this product both with dry hair, and with hair that had just been washed. It says to "use daily to maintain thickness over time." I used it daily for a week, and with the exception of my first few uses, I didn't notice any other thickening, which really wasn't thickening on the first use either, it was more of a lift at the roots. The reason for my 3 star rating is because I didn't notice any improvement in thickening of my thinning hair. I don't feel like this is a product that I would purchase in the future. It might work for someone else and does smell great, so it might be worth a try… maybe it's just me.LLeeS

This product is what first introduced me into the wonderful moroccanoil family! It provides shine, hold, volume, and moisture! How I found such a gem was a miracle! So glad my beautician recommended this to me. Anytime I need my curls to stay and not be frizzy I use this mousse! With having 4a type curly hair that is prone to dryness, it can be a real challenge to find the right product that does the job but this surpasses my expectations every time! I have also used the curl mousse and curl defining cream to really lock in the moisture. This to me is the same as the curl mousse but you get more per volume with this spray can! I have very fine hair which sometimes causes me absolute horror. This product is absolutely wonderful. You need such a small amount and it creates so much volume. It doesn't make your hair feel sticky in any way. Even the next day my hair still looks great and even after having a shower and the bathroom becoming steamy my hair still looks brilliant. I have long, fine hair with below-average thickness (not thin, but definitely not thick). I have been getting American Waves (a chemical process similar to a perm) for six months, which gives me a 2A/2B very loose waves. (My natural texture is "bendy", a mix of type 1 and 2A.) This is one of many products I have tried for air-dry styling*. I have used medium-hold gels, salt sprays, mousses, and air-dry creams. This is my favorite product so far for Day 1 results, but doesn't perform as well on Day 2+. What I like: – Like other Moroccanoil products, the smell is amazing and not too strong. – Very rich thick foam (definitely feels like a luxe product) – Gives nice definition and volume on Day 1 – Lightly moisturizing and doesn't weigh my hair down – Not sticky at all What I don't like: – It's pricey – On Day 2+, my hair looked "mussed". I still had good definition, but my whole head had more of a frizzy/fuzzy "halo" that I get with my favorite products (or no products). That said, I am still inexperienced with wavy styling, so that might be due to my (lack of) refresh technique. I am going to experiment with that, and see if I get better results. * I have found that my wash technique has a bigger impact on my results than the styling product I use. I wash with Kenra volumizing shampoo and scrunch in their conditioner, wet plopping in a shower cap before rinsing. Then I dry-plop in a microfiber towel after scrunching in a styling product (or not). After air drying, I zhuzh the roots for volume. Different products can improve the definition and volume, but this routine seems to be what makes or breaks the shape, spring, and clumpiness of the waves.Jessica

I absolutely love the 2chic volume line by Giovanni. The product smells amazing and it works wonders on my fine limp hair. When I use this leave in conditioner and go to sleep with my hair damp, I actually have to wet my hair down in the morning to tame it. That's something I never thought I would experience!Zee

I use this after Frizz Be Gone Hair Mask and air dry my frizzy, wavy , thin hair for about 2 weeks. So far, it provides light hold and some volume. Using 2 products together (the 2 on the right in the photo), my hair looks more healthy with a bit of sheen instead of frizz. Hope the results will be better with continuous use.iHerb Customer

At first I thought this was gonna work, it really does make your hair appear thicker, like really good. But after continued use, I noticed that it dried out my hair. Also, the nozzle on this can is faulty, it works only after you mess with the whole mechanism. I will not buy again, unfortunatelyRobin C.
