This is hands down the best curly hair gel on the market. I use 2-3 pumps for my whole head and scrunch it in after applying a leave in conditioner to very wet hair. It starts by drying hard but then as the day goes on, your hair looks and feels so soft and the curls are still in place. If i’m looking for a stronger hold because of a slick-back ponytail or something, I usually opt for a stronger gel like Not Your Mother’s. I branched out a year ago to try new products for my wavy hair and I stumbled on this one. I wasn’t sure at first because it’s a weird texture. Kinda like a watery gel. I wasn’t 100% sure it would help my hair. Omg. I was so wrong to be skeptical. This stuff is in my everyday hair arsenal. I scrunch this into my wet hair after a shower. Sometimes it’s all I use and it leaves my hair soft and gently defined. If I want stronger definition, I add in Marc Anthony’s curly mousse right after this and scrunch it in with a t-shirt then let air dry. Feels just like snot!! And gets the job DONE! So just so that you know, I’m a lazy 4C natural. Meaning I do bare minimum to maintain a few strands of hair on my non-chemically treated hair. I love this cream for my hair- particularly my ends when I'm in-between washes. I use it primarily when I want to refresh my tresses and add some moisture where needed. After using a leave-in conditioner, and hair oil, I lock everything in with this curl custard. A little goes a long way, I spread it on my hair hair, brush it through and then wrap my hair with a silk scarf for the night. In the morning my hair is hydrated, my ends are sealed and bone straight like I like it! I have used it when twisting or braiding my hair in the summer, and it keeps my style frizz free for days. I only use more on my twists if I spray so water for extra hydration and then seal them with a little more of this curl custard. No residue and no crazy build up or flakes. This creme was my first purchase, along with two other products, (Don't Despair, Repair hair mask, and the Scalp Revival Shampoo). Let me tell you! I love these products. Cantu is definitely an excellent brand. My hair suffers from frizziness, dryness and flat curls. My friend, who has excellent curls, recommended Cantu to me so I bought a bunch of products during the sale not really having my hopes high because I have been really disappointed with recommended (and not recommended) products in the past. I have had a lot of negative coments on my hair especially given my new job which requires a neat and tidy appearance (they don't mind the curls, but they do mind the frizziness and the fact that it looks like a bird's nest most of the time even though I have product in it) My main concern is that the product does it job with minimal effort and doesn't break the bank. Even without the sale, I do believe Cantu is a super affordable brand. I have used this hydrating curling cream both in combination with another Cantu product and as a standalone and I am super impressed. The texture of this hair masque is very smooth and creamy. I feel like Cantu really thought about this product and it shows. It's full of amazing ingredients including avocado oil, and honey. I had never heard of baobab oil, but from what I've read, it's full of antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. I tried the masque on my daughter and although it may not have been enough moisture for her hair, it did seem to hydrate it and refresh her hair's shine. I really like using these products and how my hair feels after using them. I ordered the whole set during the flash sale and when I received the products the shampoo, conditioning spray, and the conditioner weren't closed properly so most of the product was in the bottom of the box. I sent an email about the issue but I received another email for a link that doesn't work to open a ticket. No one has reached out to me and I have been sent the same link twice. This is one of my top five shampoos for people who have a four c hair texture! The smell is amazing. It definitely gives off hints of pomegranate and honey which is the perfect snow combination. It provides a thick rich and full leather without having to use 17 pumps of shampoo. I Projects like that mielle products are parabens and sulfates paraffins and mineral oil all free. I was a little disappointed when I received my black Friday package from Mielle. I have ordered before and have been pleased but this time it was like everything was thrown in a box and shipped. The box was so beat up its like the products could have came out and almost would have im certain had it been tossed around any more and I know that part wasn't so much their fault but I figured it would have been put into another box to ship to prevent that problem. The products had no confetti at least to soften how its thrown around everything was so greasy i thought for sure a product or 3 were leaking and also nothing was wrapped at least in bubble wrap considering how it was boxed up. This curl cream was one of my first purchases from Mielle! I was very excited to use it, it actually worked great for my curly hair at first. My hair actually started growing out thicker. I was also using the avocado moisturizer with this curl cream. Unfortunately, I noticed that with or without the moisturizer, my hair still looked like dry curls! This is my favorite curl cream from their collection and keeps my hair looking amazing for like 3 days after I initially applied it. I usually use gel after curl cream but with this product I don’t have to. My hair texture is 3C and I recommend this if you have the same hair type. This spray does give your hair a boost that probably couldn’t be achieved otherwise. It is in liquid form that you spray on your roots and let it do it’s magic. The reason I am giving it three stars is the condition it leaves your hair of the areas the product was applied to. It feels like it has been back combed. I like my hair to feel natural, regardless of which products are used. When wearing this, I am unable to run my fingers through my hair for instance. This stuff is pure MAGIC! You only need a tiny spritz on the roots. This product is tricky, here is how I recommend using it. On clean wet hair, spray in your leave in conditioner/ moisturizing products first, then rough Blowdry your hair to about 60% dry, then as you Blowdry your hair, use this product on your roots section by section at the root. A little goes a long way so you don’t need to spray it all over, one spray at the root is enough per section to give you volume and hold that will last for days. If you spray too much, your hair will be hard to manage and hard to put a brush through so just a small spritz is enough! This product Can last you forever!!!! The spray function is awful. I thought trading it over to a continuous spray bottle would work. I tried three different bottles and they all sprayed like a jet instead of a mist. Weird. Now I use this in the shower on soaking wet hair or diluted 50/50 in a continuous spray bottle on dry hair for refreshing. Works great this way. For low-porosity hair, it's way too heavy of a product to put on dry hair without diluting it this way.
Wow! This product is like a magic. I just received it today and immediately tried on my yesterday's frizzy curls, and it worked just perfectly even without using all other Cantu products yet. What I love about this product is that it actually set my curls and make them last for about 3-5 days, they stay in shape and looking good. the product is very tick what makes me take a little more time to have fully spread on my hair ( if you will use it make sure your hair is REALLY wet) it also leave my heart looking white while wet which I don’t feel confortable with ( in case I have to go outside I don’t wanna look like clown) the product last me about 27 days using it twice a week. This is so bomb. I have curly hair! I orginally brought it home from Dominican Republic. And it’s way better for high porosity curly hair that’s damaged. Like if your hair has been through it and it on the damaged side and needs a lot of moisture this is for you. That’s why it’s for Me lol!! I tried this cream a few years ago and didn't really care for it. It was super moisturizing but just didn't have the hold I wanted. To be fair, I used it for a wash n go and NOT a twist out. I only do wash n go's. However, I decided to pick it up again a few days ago while grabbing my usual holy grails (the hair wash, leave in, and mask from this line). This time, I applied the leave in on damp hair and then waited until my hair was about 85% dry before going in with this cream (on a wash n go). OMG the definition and hold! Absolutely amazing! I found that my hair has a lot less frizz and requires much less product when applied to nearly dry hair (I'm 3c/4a btw).Jaclyn Simone
The scent is like blueberries, use wise, there is hold, but a bit too much for me, my hair is thin. So i use it on top of my hair for a clean look, rather than gel, works well. I love Living Proof products. Most don't fail to nourish and hydrate my hair. But I was skeptical about using the curl enhancer since I have loose wavy hair. On top of that, I’m not really a hair product person, in general. Like if I’m styling my hair, I’ll use a heat protectant and do a mask or treatment on occasion, but I don’t typically use a product post-shower on the reg. This was a game changer. My hair had waves I typically can only achieve after styling with a heat tool. And it looked super healthy and conditioned. The luster and luminescence are reminiscent of the efficacy of Kerastase products, which I j'dore. The fragrance is beautiful, similar to other Living Proof scents – light, clean, fresh. I’m considering adding this to my daily routine; the only caveats are the price and my having to expand my beauty regimen.natasha.p
I don't like using a lot of product on my hair. This product works great for my minimalist style. I have fine hair that touches my shoulders and it's pretty thick. I towel dry slightly first and then rub about a pea size amount on my hands and rake it through my strands as it instructs and I add a tad more in the front since I start application in the back. Scrunch, dry the roots for a little volume and when it's completely dry I flip my head upside down and scrunch a little. It leaves my hair soft and defined and looks great all day. I've been using the Curl Enhancer and Curl Defining Gel for about three weeks. It took some trial and error, but I have finally figured out appropriate amounts to use, and my waves look amazing. My hair is soft, shiny, and defined, there is zero crunch (as long as the appropriate amount is used), and I've noticed significantly less breakage. I have very thick, coarse 2a/2b waves. My hair gets weighed down easily, my scalp is oil-prone, and my skin/scalp are very sensitive. Most curly products don't work for me or cause issues with my skin, but the Curl Enhancer hasn't caused any issues with these concerns! My skin is clear (no breakouts or irritation), my hair has volume and isn't weighed down, and my scalp/roots aren't an oily mess. The only problem I did have was figuring out how much to use. A little goes a long way, and using too much can result in buildup. The first time I used it, I used too much, a cast developed, and white particles went flying everywhere when I scrunched out the crunch (gross!). Trial and error fixed that, and I no longer have that issue. Overall, it was worth the hassle because I am very pleased with the results.Happy Camper

I have long, fine, curly hair that can be a bit unruly and loves to frizz out in the summer humidity. I try to wash it only two times a week so I was excited to try the curl reactivator to see if it helps revive my curls. It works great in tandem with other curl products like the curl mousse. However, if it's the sole product you are using on your hair I will say that it's not enough to combat frizz, for me at least. That being said, it definitely does what says, it revives curls, especially ones that are 2+ days old. It doesn't weigh down the hair and make it greasy. My hair feels really soft after using. Really nice lightweight product that is perfect for wave/curl touch ups. If I’m honest, this isn’t too much different in performance to a watered down hair conditioner, but I love the convenience and that they got the ratio right. I have thinning hair and I love that this product doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it oily/greasy at all. To get the most out of this product, I like to slightly dampen with water and then go in with this. Not necessary to take that added step, but it helps stretch out the product more. I got this at the store today because I am trying to embrace my wavy hair for the summer and put less heat on it. I originally went to get the lightweight curl cream and figured I would get both. I tried this today on day 2 hair and I’m pretty impressed. It reformed my curls and took the frizz away. The only reason I deducted a star is because I felt like I needed to spray my hair with water to get the full effect. I was hoping this alone would do the trick. I will still continue to use this though and maybe on day 3,4,5 I can use without water. I have hair extensions as well and it works on them too. I am a curly girl who has embraced her curls since her teenage years, so it takes a lot to impress. The Bumble and Bumble bb Curl defining cream is definitely worthy of praise. For reference I have semi-tight s and c shaped curls (type 3B curls) . My hair is thick and very dry most of the time. I always precondition my hair before shampoo and I tried the entire line of products in the bb curl (shampoo, conditioner & defining cream) to give myself the best results from the brand. During the winter months I defuse my hair and during the summer I let it air fry (takes anywhere from 4-6 hours to dry). I applied about it a quarter sized amount of the bb curl defining cream to wet hair, raked it through and scrunched my curls upwards, then right out of the showering I plopped my hair into a turban made of 100% cotton and waited about 15-20 mins. Afterwards I used a diffuser for about 10 minutes to help dry my curls. The results with this defining cream are excellent, minimal frizz, excellent shine, no crunch and soft touchable curls. I live in rainy Seattle and my curls held up well in the damp weather well. This cream definitely helps to separate and define individual curls so if you are looking for volume and bounce, look no further. I will say that day 2 curls need a bit more help than my usual curl cream but with a bit of water spray and a touch more product you'll be good as new in no time. The cream also has a light floral note that is pleasant and not overwhelming. I have already recommended this product to my curly sisters and if you are fed up with dull, frizzy curls, definitely give this a try. For reference, I'm a 2c wave/curl. Bumble and Bumble is a brand you can count on again to deliver incredible and trustworthy products, time and time again. Their BB Curl defining cream does not disappoint. I was a bit worried because my curls/waves sometimes oddly do better without any product. This does exactly what is says "for moisturized, flexible curls with movement." It left my curls soft (no crunch), it smells incredible and they seem way more moisturized than letting them dry without any product. Once they did dry I did realize my curls were a tiny bit weighed down – I have very thick and heavy hair, but I prefer as much volume as possible. The product isn't sticky and I think next time I'll add the cream to my hair while dripping wet in the shower. I might need to add a bit more product next time as well. These curls are always trial and error with new products so I'll try again in a different way! This product would be great if you want less frizz and more moisturized soft curls. This is just about my favorite Lange product. You only need a little bit too! My hair is thin, fine and with a natural wave. I have used Thick It after applying the lotion or the Whip Volumizing Mousse. I’ll need to try both next time and see if they are compatible. My guess will be, Yes! The Glaze kept my frizzies to a minimum. Hair was nice and soft and did not flatten my hair…I did keep it away from my roots. I love this this product! Finally something that does NOT make my hair more frizzy, crunchy, dry or greasy. I have fine to medium curly long hair, I am of Eastern European descent. I just use a very small amount like directions advised, worked it into my wet hair, scrunched it with my hands and let air dry. My hair is sooo soft, no frizz and my curls are defined. I have been searching for a natural product without chemicals that actually works. I love it! It also has a tropical fragrance that is not overwhelming and smells so good! I found this product yearssss ago when I first started the Curly Girl Method. It was very runny, white and much lighter. I ended up repurchasing it and when I opened it, it is incredibly yellow and thick and the ingredient list is completely different. I don't use it everyday to care but in general, Shea Moisture was my Go To absolutely favorite brand and I used their shampoo and conditioner for about 8 years- but I noticed it a couple of months ago stripped my hair and caused an insane amount of frizz. What a shame. I will never buy another Shea Moisture product. They used to have amazing ingredients, now they have all weird chemicals and the smells changed badly. I'm a natural with 4a/4b hair that mainly does wash n goes. I wanted a gel to layer for hold that had better ingredients than eco and wetline. I planned to use this as a topper. I've experienced that this product offers great hold, it does not control frizz very well due to the light/watery consistency. I used a botanical gel underneath and I think my hair would have had more frizz control if I used it on damp hair vs. soaking wet. I feel as if my hair dried quicker while using this product (I did sit under the hooded dryer) and the application was super easy. I felt that it had slip due to the consistency. The hold that this gives is correct. I would describe it as a firm-medium. Definitely not a strong hold. And I would agree with the reviewer that said the curls need to be sculpted beforehand. This is not going to give you much definition alone. Use this for additional hold and control. Overall, I think I would purchase again and I'm interested in trying their strong hold gel.Jasmine
I love this product. After my leave-in I usually have a few tangles, but when I use this cream instead of my usual cream, it gave me the best slip and gets all the tangles out that my leave in did not attack, and I had no frizz. It cut my wash day in half. It used to take me an hour in a half to do my hair (tangles, ugh!), now it only takes 45 – 50 minutes. My curls were so hydrated and defined. I just love this product. Don't let the size of the bottle make you think you need a bigger bottle because a little is all you need…about the size of a quarter if you're doing sections (I do 4 sections) but use it according to your hair density. My hair is a thick density on the top (this was great for that) and my hair is 3C/4A. It works perfect my sista's. Try it. Also, I noticed it has shea butter in it…a major plus for moisture. My process is LCG, I have oil that I use after wash day, but I tell you with this cream, you really don't need it. I didn't. Curl Talk don't ever change the formula!Robbin-Lynn
I have type 3c/3b Hair so I am always needing a good hair gel. I do like the original gel in this curl talk line. It provides adequate hold. Once this gel was introduced, I knew I had to try it. It does have a sticky consistency. But I am sure that is what helps the gel give that extra hold. You will have a hard cast on your hair once it is dry, but u can always break the cast if u want to. This gel holds up to humidity well. My advice since it is so sticky to the touch and to avoid tangling your hair is to apply your typical styling products before hand, and add this gel at the very last. It will be easier to work through the hair and wont leave a tangles mess. This is not a good gel if you feel like refreshing or combing out your hair the next day, just cause the extra hold that it does give. I bought this to try after using the curl talk cream and gel religiously for a while which I LOVE. I have mostly type 2b/c hair with some 3A pieces and don't usually have a problem with definition/volume, but this pretty much gave me neither just made my hair frizzy and I really don't like the way it feels to the touch. It leaves a pretty strong cast that is difficult to get out even when scrunching with oil and if you live in a super humid place like me, then so much humidity will make your hair crunchy all over again. I ignored the reviews in hopes that maybe it would work for me to simplify my routine, but I wish I had just repurchased my tried and true instead. I honestly prefer just my hair air dried with only a light leave in (pretty loose waves-not like what I get with the cream/gel but doable) to what this gives me. I'm gunna try to power through and finish this but I have a feeling I won't. Listen to the reviews and just save yourself the time and money it's not worth the like 2% chance this will actually work for you. Very sticky mousse! Dispensing this foam and rubbing it between my hands felt like I had just opened a bottle of hair spray and poured it into my hands. I couldn't believe how sticky this stuff was! I used a very small amount, applied to my roots first and the combed the rest through my hair with my fingers. After scrunching my hair, washing my hands and blow drying on the lowest setting with a diffuser I was left with wet-looking, crunchy curls. Trying to reactivate the next day by misting my hair with a little water and letting air dry I was left with really dry, hard hair feeling like I had used lots of hair spray. Couldn't get my fingers through it, no way a comb or brush would make it. So happy to wash this stuff out of my hair. Throwing this in the trash and will look for something else. I have low porosity, medium density wavy/looser curly hair. The bottom part of my hair has tighter ringlets/curls while the hair closer to my crown is a bit looser and tends to be weighed down or fall. I use this after applying leave-in and curl cream on wet hair and scrunch in! If I’m using gel, I don’t usually use this since my hair doesn’t really need both! It smells really good (the entire line does!) and it doesn’t weigh my hair down! It’s really easy to emulsify, you don’t need a lot of product. It helps control my frizz and defines my curls much better and it’s so easy to refresh day 2-3 hair with this product too!maria.m

I like that this moisturizer is light soaks right in, I have low porosity hair so this is perfect right after a good wash and conditioning. Whether I’m wearing a wash and go or twisting my hair it’s perfect. I would absolutely recommend this product it runs about $8. I was using Redken full frame 07 mousse but lately they don't have it stocked. I really needed something so this looked similar being it's lightly hydrating because I don't like crunchy mousse. I love this!! I have fine medium thickness hair that lies flat after blow drying. This gives it the oomph it needs. And it doesn't go flat after a few hours either. I only use a dimes worth, I was skeptical of the scent but it does go away so doesn't bother me.Emma

I have medium to thick hair that is slightly kinky due to the dry and damaged nature of it. I started using this product and it smells divine – like strawberries. It doesn't weigh down my hair and adds moisture to it. I put it in after I washed it & towel dry it. Afterwards, I apply the Hyaluronic Treatment in and blow dry my hair and then straightened it. I love the way my hair feels. It is pretty weightless. For the frizz it doesn't a good job, not perfect. If you are in the rain your hair may still frizz because it is still weightless, but I think it does a nice job nonetheless and will keep using it. It is on the pricier side. I used 2 pumps each time for a medium length to long of hair. I tend to stay away from the roots when I use any oil or creamy products, so it doesn't feel greasy in my scalp. I have very dry frizzy hair that gets weighed down eaily so I'm always looking for products to help with that. I had heard of the original invisible oil for a while but had never tried it. I was excited to try this version of it because I thought the hyaluronic acid would be great at bringing in more hydration. I applied this to towel dried, mostly wet hair and when my hair dried, it felt softer than it usually does when I air dry. On first impressions, I thought it was a little weird because I was expecting it to make my hair feel more silky and untangled immediately (like a leave in conditioner) but that is not what this product is supposed to do. I will likely keep using this on days when I shampoo because once my hair dried, it looked more moisturized (not as dull/dry-looking). I am prone to a dry flaky scalp in the winter so I really liked that this can be applied to the scalp.RianaS
