20 Best Products For Heat Damaged Hair (Jan 2023 Update)

In the instructions of how to use this oil, it says to work it though hair after a blowout. Very often, I blow out my hair with the Dyson Airwrap round brush and self-grip rollers. Self-grip rollers have a tendency to pull at the hair and break off small strands. I definitely think this oil is great at smoothing those strands after the blow out. You don’t even have to use a full pump for the oil to do that job. With either 1 full pump or less, the oil smooths the hair without ruining the blow out or making it greasy. My hair gets greasy QUICKLY after washing, so I really enjoy that I can use this oil for blow outs & it doesn’t affect the time in which my hair usually starts getting greasy. Also in the instructions, it says you can use this oil in your hair before washing. I’ve done this a handful of times now. I find the oil dries down in a fair amount of time, so I like that I can douse my hair with multiple pumps, put it in a pony tail, and after about an hour, it looks normal enough to do do things that I don’t have to look really impressive for (ex: errands). However, I notice when I completely oiling my hair up with this, it’s rather drying in comparison to other oils. For instance, I also use the Shea Moisture 100% Argan Oil, which is much cheaper, and it gives my hair that smooth oily feel that I aim for prior to washing. With this oil, I find that myself going back and re-oiling my hair due to the dry feeling. Again, I’ve only used it as a prewash a handful of times, so I have NOT noticed yet that the dryness is a lasting affect after I wash. I haven’t tried this yet on wet hair. Overall, it’s great for blow outs since a small pump goes far and it is light weight. When using larger amounts, I notice the hair feels more than dry than oily, and I worry this will eventually affect the dryness of my hair. I feel that I can find a cheaper oil to smooth my hair after blowing it out.PastaPrincess69

This was so extremely disappointing, I even tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and used up the entire thing before giving my review. I honestly love so many Ouai hair products, their detox shampoo and scalp scrub are some of my absolute favorites! Unfortunately this was such a dud, I honestly cannot believe how many positive reviews this has received. First thing, the smell is atrocious. I like nice smelling products, and even if its unscented or a mild scent I usually don't mind but THIS! I could not get over the scent, its a very woody/herb/patchouli scent and its STRONG. Next issue I had with this is that it didn't really hydrate my hair, if anything it felt more dry after, it didn't really absorb and just sat on the hair looking wet/oily. Some hair oils I love for example are the Olaplex and Gisou hair oils!hailey.p

i got this in a free gift set of a lot of minis & samples and i didnt expect much from it at all; i have used many different hair oils before and never really "clicked" with any of them. i also didn't expect to even remember half the items i got in this sample kit because there were so many. this stood out enough for me to take a picture of the little sachet before throwing it out. i thought i accidentally used too much but even with me using a lot it didn't weigh my hair down at all. in fact it actually gave me more volume, somehow, and my hair usually gets flat & greasy quite quickly. it smells so nice and the scent is subtle but lingers all day. it made my hair look so glossy & thick. i will definitely be purchasing the full size soon.aj

So I’ve been using this for a while (6+months) and really haven’t noticed a difference. It’s a bit heavy for my fine hair but I could see it working for someone with really thick or damaged hair. It smells nice (that herbal Aveda smell) and for me, I put it on before blow drying. It just weighs my hair down. I’m also in a humid climate, but I bet this would be great for people in drier places. Anyway, it didn’t damage or do anything bad, just a bit much for mine. I know Aveda makes quality products, so this is probably just specific to me, maybe you’ll have better luck 🤷🏼‍♀️kimberly.s

I've had luck with Aveda products I've tried for some time now after I have searched for a solution for dryness. My hair is prematurely turning white and it has made my hair very dry and damaged, not to mention that I do have the dryness from having curly/wavy hair. Needless to say, I have very high maintenance hair. I tried nutriplenish deep moisture with the leave-in (which I LOVE btw), and it worked wonders! I decided to give this a try to help repair my damaged hair, and it actually dried my hair and made the damage worse. I have already contacted customer service for a refund, but I wanted to write a review in case anyone else has the same kind of hair as me and could benefit from knowing how great Nutriplenish is! I saw a review about the silicone being in it, and that could be the issue since any kind of "bonding" products just do not work for me. I used to work in an Aveda salon for many years and this was the best, most important, product I recommended for my guests. Because it's light weight, there wasn't a guest it wouldn't be good for. Once I stopped working at my salon (due to a move across country) I had a hard time paying full price. I really love the packing of this product, it looks great and has great functionality. I love how it makes my hair feel. My hair feels so soft when I use this product. I wash my hair everyday so it is always in need of repair and this is doing a great job. The only thing I wasn’t 100% sold on was the scent. To me the scent is a bit strange. I wish it was florally. It isn’t bad to where I wouldn’t use it just isn’t what I was hoping for. I would put purchase this product in the future because it really does work great. After much research, I bought Olaplex 6 + 7 and Kerastase Ciment Thermique at the same time. At first, I liked Olaplex more, until I found myself reaching for the Kerastase more and more until eventually, I exclusively only reach for the Kerastase. Olaplex definitely has a more silicone feel and more slip. My hair gets oily pretty quickly so it wasn't the best for my hair. Kerastase on the other hand…WOW. This stuff makes my hair noticeably more shiny and less frizzy, with no greasy or oily feeling. The second day hair is just as good, if not better! I have been heat styling every other day for 4 months and I credit this product as the reason my hair still doesn't feel or look damaged. This product is on the pricier side but it is worth every penny and a little goes a long way. Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Damaged / Dry Hair has been working great so far. I received this product as a free sample box from @bzzagent It’s a heat protectant and moisturiser so I don’t burn my hair any more. I have medium length, wavy, thin, dry hair, color-treated and prone to frizziness. First off, this product smells absolutely amazing and it lasts all day long. First of the scent is amazing. It’s citrusy but not over powering and leaves my hair smelling fresh all day long. It has a creamy texture that applied nicely to my damp hair and didn’t make my strands sticky or weighed Down. I love that I can put this in after the shower and then blow dry my hair and it is extremely silky smooth and shiny. It has helped tremendously and I absolutely love styling my hair now. Once I was completely done drying my hair, I noticed that my hair created a good volume. It looked so much healthy & hydrated. This product definitely gave me visible results with just one use. First, I purchased this with my own $$ after seeing an article from The Kit so I was not paid or sponsored for this review! I just want to help my people find hair products that work b/c it’s hard to find!!! I have shoulder length relaxed hair with 3inches of curly new growth and I’ve been struggling to find a solution that allows me to moisturize and smooth my new growth while not weighing down my relaxed hair and CHILE, I found her! This serum is magical- I used JVN pre-poo oil(GAME CHANGER), then a full Olaplex treatment(no 0 for 1hr, then no 3 for 1hr, followed by 4+5) then I used a bean sized amount of this serum, mixed with a bean sized amount of Olaplex no6 and a pea sized amount of Pattern by TER leave in conditioner on wet hair. I use the LCO method, which I find is better for relaxed hair than the LOC method, so I layered a little Pattern Jojoba oil, Olaplex 7 and a smidge of castor oil on my roots and ends. It’s been a week and usually by now, my hair is dry, limp and crazy, but this serum has my hair bouncing and behaving!! It’s light, my hair is snatched and blends with my weave like I’ve never had before! Usually I have to moisturize like crazy and my hair gets weighed down and greasy before my wash day, but this serum is all the product I’ve used on my leave out all well and it’s rich hunny! LOVE!! Used this after using the Blondage System it helped with breakage and made my fragile blonde hair soft, strong and shiny! I have tried everything from bonding systems to masks. Here is exactly what I did: 1. Sprayed the Blondage High Bright Treatment in sections all over my damp hair and let sit for 5 minutes (Do not Rinse) 2. Shampoo 2x with the Blondage High Bright Shampoo 3. Condition with the Blondage High Bright Conditioner (I like to rinse with cool water for healthier hair) 4. As first, Im like all organic, eco junkie…so with this product I really stepped out but there is nothing similar to this product. I have fine hair, gets curly and as its fine and dry it gets into knots.. Im quite gray so have to colour my hair and although best colours it dries it down. I almost finished the bottle, so can leave a fair review, and cant remember when I bought it, so lasts ages. With this discovered less is more, really a pea size is enough for my hair, its bellow shoulders, around scapula. I put it in wet washed hair.. it somehow instantly detangles the ends, makes hair smoother, and somehow looks tidier when dry also.. Really like it. After washing my hair I actually look forward to spraying this into the ends of my wet hair before styling or drying. I make sure to get the length and ends of my hair and try to let it air dry a bit before using a wet-brush or hair dryer. What a difference I noticed after, probably, the first three times on my extremely damaged hair, post a perm and continued coloring. Sometimes when I am in a bit of a hurry I will simply wet the ends of my hair and spray/comb thru a bit of the Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Leave-In Treatment for Damaged Hair and scrunch my hair and allow it to air dry while I'm heading to whatever my event is. When I arrive I brush my hair and it looks fresh and illuminates most fly-away ends and provides a quick smooth finished to otherwise on styled hair. I use this along with Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo and Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner (both are anti-snap). Quite possibly the worst thing I’ve put on my hair. I have long, fine, color treated blonde hair. This product dried my hair out to the point that no conditioner could save. I saved no time blow drying my hair due to all the tangles I was fighting. The smell is reminiscent of White Rain hairspray from the dollar store, which leads me to believe there is a high alcohol content (hence the drying and tangles.) Wonderful product! It makes it much easier to style my hair and leaves it feeling softer then most other products ever have. Once it dries completely it doesn't leave any residue or make my hair feel stiff. I also haven't had any problems with brittle hair or split ends since I've been using this. Pair it with a good shampoo and conditioner and it leaves your hair looking perfect!! The only downside is it doesn't keep my hair from curling when I get in humid conditions, which I didn't really expect to happen but you can always hope!emsta_7300

I love using this before I blow dry my hair. It literally cuts down so much time and makes the process go by so much faster and helps me get the perfect blow out. The smell isn’t that great but it doesn’t linger on the hair so I can deal with it. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy or leave a residue behind but if you spray too much it can make the hair feel a little sticky. It’s quite pricey but it’s a great product especially if youre looking for something to help cut down the dry time on your hair. The pink packaging is super cute too. You have to shake it before using to make sure you’re getting all the benefits because the product separates after sitting for awhile. If there was anything I would change it’s the smell, that’s about it. I bought the mini size to try it out but it cost 10 dollars and you literally get like 1/10th of the product compared to the full size which was 23 dollars so I recommend just getting the full size because it’s more worth it for your money. This truly makes my hair feel amazing. It smells so good and it instantly gives my hair a silky feeling. This will leave your hair feeling so soft and bouncy, I love this leave in hair treatment by it’s a ten. The only complaint is I hate how terrible the pump is. It stopped working soon after I bought it. I tried cleaning any build up to no avail. I have fine straight, high lighted hair. I have had so much trouble with frizzy, dry next day hair at my ends (my roots still get oily). I have tried lots of products- olaplex #6 on days I wash, verb ghost oil on next day hair, verb dry oil on next day hair, aveda conditioning mist on next day hair. Then I received this product. This stuff is an absolute joke. I cannot believe anyone actually has good results with this. I have dry ends damage on the front 3/4 of an inch of my hair from coloring. It's not horrible, but definitely looks and feels more frayed than the rest of my hair. I've tried this stuff twice now and it's literally made ZERO difference other than me smelling it on my hair. First of all, Pureology can do no wrong in my eyes. Every single product they make is absolute gold. I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. The only single drawback is the scent, I wish it was less peachy and last shorter. Not to my liking anyway. I really enjoyed the shampoo from this line, but I feel the conditioner & smoothing cream are too heavy for my hair type. I shampoo and style my hair once a week and with the use of this product I had to shampoo after 2 days due to itchy scalp and just overall weighing my hair down. I use another high end line smoothing creams and I can go 6-7 days without shampooing. I’m all about that dry shampoo life. This product smells great and my hair looked amazing right after I blowed it out and it definitely did smooth my hair out, I just didn’t like the weighing of my hair down after 2 days. I’ve used a few different argan oils for my hair, most common ones being the OGX and Hanz De Fuko Hair Oil. The Forte Series beats them both by a mile! I have fine hair, so those of you who are like me know it’s hard to find a good product that controls frizz while not weighing your hair down too much. This does just that! It’s not too oily and heavy (much like the OGX ) and does a better job controlling the frizz when compared to HDF Hair Oil. This stuff goes on super easy and evenly and leaves my hair soft all day. The scent is the same as the molding paste so no need to worry about clashing fragrances. Fine Hair Tip: after washing with shampoo and towel drying, I mix a drop of this in my hand with the Molding Paste as a pre-styler to give my hair so much more volume when blow drying!Matt M.

I absolutely love this product. The smell is amazing and it makes my hair soft and somewhat glossy. When i apply the product to my hair, it glides smoothly across, which I really like. I received a free sample of this, and I am actually going to shell out the full price for a bottle of it because I cannot believe the difference it has made. My hair is ridiculously fine, thin, straight, and long. My hair is easily weighed down, doesn't hold texture, doesn't hold volume, and looks greasy by the end of the day no matter what. I cannot skip a single shower, and I avoid using product in my hair in any way, shape, or form because not only will my hair look unwashed, stringy, and greasy (even with dry shampoo), but my scalp will break out. I can't even stray from the same shampoo/conditioner I've always used because my hair will freak out. All that to say– I cannot believe this product works on me. The ends of my hair dry out terribly, and in general my hair has not been in great shape. On the first use, my hair definitely felt softer, but after about a week of using this at night before bed, and every other day also putting some on the bottom half of my hair after a morning shower made my hair look and feel smoother, too. Tangled hair has been minimized, and brushing my hair is easier– less snags than usual. The oil does not have that viscous, sticky consistency that other treatments have, and doesn't have the weight and texture that make my hair limp. It is a very light oil that feels dry on contact, and does not alter the texture of my hair when applied, but the difference in softness is definitely felt. It also smells freaking amazing. 10/10, will actually buy, and would buy again! So far, I love this product. I have color-damaged, fine, wavy, long, blonde hair. This oil is fairly thick, but I'm impressed with it's ability to still be dispersed evenly throughout my hair. I use this product on the mid-shaft to ends of my hair while it is semi-damp/nearly dry, usually prior to blow-drying. I use a wide-tooth comb to ensure the product is evenly disbursed. Since using this product, I've noticed a reduction in my split ends and my hair feels smooth, soft and silky. A little bit of this product definitely goes a long way. Other reviewers with fine hair have mentioned that this product weighed their hair down – and I can confirm that while this product made my hair look much healthier, I did notice a reduction in volume. This is a heavier, more dense hair oil than others that I've used. If you are looking to use a hair oil & still maintain volume, I'd suggest a lighter hair oil like Kerastase or Opalex. Compared to Kerastase or Opalex hair oils, I have noticed that this Moroccanoil oil seems to last longer – I currently am on day 3 of my hair and applied a nickle-sized amount of this oil once before I blow-dried my hair on day 1, and my ends are still silky smooth & I have not had to reapply. Whereas when I have used Kerastase or Opalex hair oils in the past, I've had to apply them 1-2x daily to continuously see results. This product also makes my hair feel clean after use – with other hair oils, my hair has felt like it has a residue on it. There’s so many things to list out for this moroccanoil treatment serum that I love so very much! I love the smell! It’s very calming. I use it after my showers and lightly finger it throughout the mid and ends of my wet hair, then I take my wet-hair detangling brush and gently brush through my hair to detangle and distribute the product (serum). once my hair air drys (yes, I’m one of those people but my hair thanks me for it!) my hair looks like I’ve had a team of people working on it for hours. It’s incredibly soft, easy to manage, my natural waves are much more defined, my hair overall feels healthier and more resilient and finally, the scent lasts for several days and so do the results. Long term I feel as though this will be what my hair has been begging me for! I’ve let my beautiful momma borrow the bottle so that she can experience what I’ve been ranting and raving about for days now. Fun little tidbit: my moms hair is down past the back of her knees and she’s also around 5’5. That’s a lot of long beautiful hair! her hair has always been long and longer than that my whole life so she’s certainly going to appreciate this oil! It’s a smaller bottle about the size of an essential oil bottle BUT don’t let that fool you! A drop goes an incredibly long way! I'm a very picky person when it comes to my hair and the products that I use. Most of the products that I have used in the past (even if they're raved about) end up drying out my hair making it very brittle or dull. I have very very curly hair and it's very thick and long so I have to use multiple products to keep my hair tame, soft healthy, and smooth. That includes using multiple hair masks ( I'm a pro multi masker lol) in order to make sure the products spread evenly and two that I get the best results for hydration and strength. This treatment surprised me a bit given how small the bottle is. I started by shampooing per directions. I then, separated my hair into 6 and started with one pump on each section starting from mid shaft to ends then repeated the process with my roots (I used a few extra pumps) then waited 4 minutes. The texture of this particular product surprised me because it's not something I would normally use on my hair it is a cream but it didn't have any slip (so I thought), And it didn't feel thick enough. But within those four minutes my hair was smoother softer and shinier I was very surprised at how soft it felt and how my hair didn't tangle up (which would have normally happened had I used a product with no slip.) due to all the manipulation. With that being said there are a couple of drawbacks with the product. One: the price for the size is a little dicey to me, like I would hesitate greatly buying this product once I run out and hesitate recommending to someone who has as much hair as I do (quick explanation: my hair reaches a little past my waist when flat ironed and is very dense) especially since the directions state to use the product for the first four to six washes then 3-4 for aftercare/as needed/ upkeep. Two: When I used the product I said to myself that it smelled like rubbing alcohol. Then I read the ingredients and noticed that it had alcohol high on it. I'm not sure what denatured alcohol does but I'm hoping it doesn't dry my hair out with time. All in all I'm excited to use it more and see how my hair reacts. *extra notes* With first usage I loved it, second usage I'm noticing my curls are more defined. Okay, I do not normally write reviews but I kinda just have to about this product. To give some backstory, I was dumb and thought my hair was invincible and got into hair color. September 2021 was the first time I dyed my hair with box dye and my hair didn’t react at all. It was still extremely healthy and felt like my virgin hair. So I assumed my hair was a special case and could withstand anything… so, I decided to get creative with my hair and went absolutely crazy. After my first dye, from mid October 2021 – early February 2022, I bleached my hair 5 times, dyed my hair with 4 Arctic fox colors and 3 box dyes and one professional dye from Sally’s, used the homemade color remover method of dish soap, developer, baking soda and purple shampoo probably 20 times… if not more. It wasn’t until it was too late that I realized how dead and fried and destroyed my hair was. It was so bad that my hair would stick out straight in the air when I’d pick up a small section, rather than bouncing and falling down like healthy hair does. To fix my mistake, I tried to use MANY different deep masks, hair hyaluronic acid and olaplex and those barely made a dent in the damage I caused… so I bought the mini size of K-18 and just finished 5 washes with it (I probably have one more wash left but I was too excited to wait to write this review). After the first wash my hair felt exponentially better than it had since my first dye. And after my 5th wash, I can confidently say this product has totally saved my hair. Of course it’s not completely healed, but I’d say it’s 80% back to it’s “virgin” state. I’d say after a couple more washes it’ll be almost back to it’s completely healthy state. My hair is a couple inches from my shoulders but very dense so I have to section my hair into 2 sections and do 2 pumps for each one to feel properly coated. The takeaway from this review is don’t be stupid like I was, but also this product is an absolute miracle worker and 100% worth the price.SuchToasty

So normally I would keep a magical life changing hair treatment to myself but I’m literally dead from being in shock after using this product for the first time last night. I was wondering why I have never heard or seen anything about this product but found out it’s because it is brand new. Apparently research scientist from a US biological engineering department discovered this brand new breakthrough peptide strand that has never been used before in any hair product. We have seen tons of protein and bonding treatments on the market like “olaplex” but this peptide strand that was discovered is one of a kind. If you read there website, and especially me trying every bonding treatment on the market, I was so skeptical because they are basically promising after one use and 4 minutes your hair even severely bleached or damaged in any way, will go back to its “virgin” youthful state. I was like SUREEEE that’s what they all say and my hair never gets repaired enough to the point that I am like wow lol. But literally reading the science behind it, it does kinda make sense. Olaplex will repair the hairs structure only to a certain point, every other treatment will only go as far as the core, and never to the polypeptide chains which is the most inner layer of our hair. But the K18 peptide that was discovered will! And let me just tell you I have never once felt the need to spread feedback from a hair product but after washing my hair last night I almost dropped dead lol. If anyone knows me they know that I am so indecisive with my hair and I go from platinum blonde to black and back to platinum literally all the time. I recently just went back platinum and within the last month have bleached my hair several times and it was EXTREMELY damaged to where it felt like straw. I wanted to give this product a try because it is “patented” and I have never seen a product have a patent so the ingredient had to of been good. I put this on my hair for the first time last night. All you do is wash your hair with shampoo NO conditioner and then when you get out of the shower you put the K18 peptide in and leave it in. My hair right now literally feels and looks the healthiest it has like I have never bleached it in my whole life. I’m just waiting for this product to be found out about and all other hair company’s will literally go out of business. I had blond balayage done to my hair and that damaged it. I read the reviews about this product, most good and a mixture of bad. When I saw the bad reviews talking about hair snapping off, I thought it was just due to the persons hair being so damaged and thought I'd give it a try. Well my hair started snapping off, every single day, some pieces long and ranging to tiny specks of hair. I have had my hair damaged horribly in the past to the point it took forever to dry and leaving burnt coarse ends. My hair did have a few areas of burnt ends but not as severe as previous experiences. So I kept using the treatment products and it kept raining pieces of my hair throughout the day. I've never had this happen even with extremely damaged hair. Sure pieces broke off but nothing like this. When the pieces snapped initially I thought it was due to the damaged ends. But then it never stopped. Smooth bits about a quarter inch kept shedding off. I couldn't wear dark shirts without constantly wiping hair bits off of it. After about a month I believed the reviews and stopped using the products. My hair slowly started snapping off less and less but I'm not sure if it was because the majority was already gone. So now my hair is varied lengths and extremely thinned out due to the different lengths it broke off. I'm not saying this product isn't good or bad because a lot of people love it but I strongly suggest not using this product if you have bleach damage without consulting your hair stylist first or having a treatment of some type done professionally. Before getting my hair to the shade it is now, I had several appointments slowly lightening my hair over roughly 6 months with hair treatments in between to maintain the health. I will never use this product again. And the snapping people comment about is real and with extreme hair thinning.Lisa R

I was someone who used to think that nothing could actually repair the bonds of your hair from the inside, especially because it went against everything I ever learned in cosmetology school, but that was 30 years ago and technology has changed, the proof is in the chemistry. I completely clarified my hair and then started using only Olaplex products exclusively. I used the entire line as recommended for damaged hair for 4 months, including number one in my hair color touch ups, and now I am a firm believer that it really does repair bonds as they claim because there is no other explanation for the positive change in my mid back length, color treated, and highlighted hair. I went from dull hair that was always tangled and broke so easily, to much healthier, shiny, soft, full hair. Despite having a lot of hair, it's very fine and before Olaplex, I could never achieve fullness without using a ton of product which was counterproductive. Usually conditioners, treatments, and masks, would weigh my hair down, but not Olaplex, it gives me the natural fullness I want without any styling product or weighing my hair down. And their purple shampoo, I can't say enough good things about it either! It is super concentrated so you need only the tiniest bit for the best results and the fact that the other products help color last longer, you don't need to use it as often as other toning shampoos, but when they say leave it on no more than two minutes, they mean it! If you use too much or leave it in too long, it will tint your hair rather than just tone it. The only Olaplaex product I don't use is the oil. Other than that, they would have to pry Olaplex from my hands. I highly recommend the entire line and starting with completely clarified hair prior to starting and use Olaplex exclusively for a few months to achieve the best results. I honestly believe the bad reviews are a result of user error rather than product error. You must start with clarified hair.momofthreeinpa

I originally purchased this to help with detangling my 5 yr old daughters hair. It works a treat. I put a couple of pumps in my daughter's hair and with the use of a detangler brush, it works a treat. Very few tears now! Now I use it for my hair, just pump in my hand and spread throughout my hair. My hair is now nice and soft again.Bryanna

I have been using this for two years now. I also use the frizz shampoo and conditioner. This smells amazing and it really helps with heat protection and keeps frizz at bay! I never do my hair without it!!! I even keep a small tube (it was a sample) with me and use it if U get caught in rain. I had the opportunity to try Hair Food's new coconut and argan oil "Heat Protection Blend" and I would enjoy sharing my experience. I used this product on my towel-dried hair after shampooing and conditioning as usual. I flipped my head upside down and spritzed liberally then straightened up and applied a little more. I worked it through with my fingers and then I blow dried as usual. I did not use any other product on my hair so I could really get an idea of Hair Food's benefits. After blow drying and a bit of finger combing, my hair was soft and shiny. Very nice! The product also has a great smell that filled the whole bathroom while I was drying my hair! As my hair is thin, it only takes me a couple of minutes to dry, and I only use curling irons or flat irons occasionally, I probably wouldn't use this product much BUT…we did have an accidental discovery! My boyfriend grabbed the Hair Food heat protection spray after showering and sprayed it (probably quite generously!) on his hair and WOW! His very curly red locks looked great! He did not blow dry or apply any kind of heat but his hair looked and felt awesome, shiny and SO soft! So, I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with thick, curly hair, regardless of heat applications. In conclusion, Hair Food's heat protection blend is a lovely product and it does what it says. HAIR FOOD coconut & argan oil HEAT PROTECTION BLEND is Sulfate, Paraben, Dye & Mineral Oil free. It is to used on dry hair with styling tool with temperatures up to 450. For best results: Shake well before using. Apply liberally on race section before applying heat. The first thing I noticed about HAIR FOOD coconut & argan oil HEAT PROTECTION BLEND was how clean and fresh it smells. I found it to work best by shaking the bottle, spraying it on a small section and brushing it in before using my styling tool. It didn't stick to or cause build up on my styling tool or my hair. It left me hair feeling clean not caked. I would have liked for it would make the top layer (most damaged from color) a little smoother. However, it did keep my hair from being further damaged. Overall, I am very pleased with the results from the results of HAIR FOOD coconut & argan oil HEAT PROTECTION BLEND. My hair has never looked so good! I love it. I use it before I curl or straighten my hair and I only use it on the last 4-5 inches of my hair. The first time I tried it, I thought it was going to be really oily but it dries as you go and leaves the hair soft and smooth, and a nice finished look. I do like this, works good when you do not over spray. Can be very greasy on finer hair types so use sparingly. A little goes a long way with this product. I even use this when I air dry hair-keeps the frizz at bay. But again I do not overdue it, tends to grease up your hair easily if I pump to many sprays or too close to my head.Lovetoshop

Amazing! This is how I would describe this oil! The texture, the packaging, and the smell.. ethereal and magical, no exaggeration. It leaves your hair feeling so smooth and smelling so nice that people would stop you and ask you what you’ve used in your hair! The smoothness of your hair can be felt with just one touch, and just a few pumps would cover your whole hair, meaning that your product will last for a while. I only have one suggestion, that if you want to straighten your hair, I would recommend to apply the oil after straightening them to give a shiny finishing look, instead of before, as I found it harder to straighten them when I applied the oil before. Another suggestion would be to apply the oil while your hair is still wet which makes it really easier to comb afterwards. Other than this, super recommended!Navvv

I have used Rusk products before but this hairspray does not work unless you use a lot of it. I have fine hair but I have a lot of it. I don't want to have to constantly keep spraying my hair with a ton of hairspray for it to hold. I am very disappointed in this product. I bought three cans of this and a couple of other brands. is such an amazing product! This hair serum isn’t for everybody because it’s such so heavy and thick, but if you have thick, dry, or coarse hair this would be perfect for you! This is a very thick serum that you only need a little bit of, and the nozzle makes it easy to get the perfect amount. This smells amazing, it hydrates deeply, and it makes your hair so shiny after you blow dry. This will weigh down fine hair types but for my thick hair, I use this for all of my blow dries. I'd read the information about this treatment for the hair and never thought for a minute that it would actually work, I however, was completely wrong. As someone who is hormonal with coloured hair, ever time I was etc, there would be hair wrapped around my fingers or stuck in the comb where I'd combed through conditioner. That was not the case here. I started by dampening my hair as per the instructions and massaged the bonding treatment through my hair which felt odd as a step I'd never taken before washing previously. I then took the recommended amount of the shampoo and massaged into a leather and rinsed. This is where I was surprised, there was maybe one or two hairs on my hands when rinsing, I check that there wasn't a load around my feet in the shower but no, they were still attached to my head! I then applied the conditioner and rinsed as I normally would. After towel drying, I'd expect there to be breakage stuck in my brush , there just wasn't! I'm amazed! I'm going to continue to used and see if the horrible stray little snapped hairs can finally be gone.Jo

My hair has been highlighted for years, religiously every 6 weeks. A few weeks ago I got a magic sleek treatment and I left with fried orange hair. This was my second treatment and the first was great so I don't say it's the product but instead I think this stylist used too much heat. I used olaplex 3 after and some deep conditioning masks. They helped some but my hair still looked very unhealthy. I tried this redken line and my hair looks like it did before…smooth shiny soft and healthy! I used the treatment and left it in for 20-30 minutes. Then washed with the shampoo and conditioner (I let the conditioner sit for about 10 minutes). I finished with the leave in and my hair looks so great. If you have any damage, I highly recommend this. This will be my daily shampoo conditioner and leave in from now on. I'm going to have my teenage daughter use it too since she recently got highlights and started straightening her hair more.Sharon

I'll be honest, the first time I tried the trio (concentrate, shampoo, conditioner) I didn't think it did much besides making my hair slightly softer and smelling delicious. I refrained from leaving a review until I gave it some time. Three weeks later, my hair already feels and looks healthier. It's gained back some shine and it's easier to style. I use all three products every time I wash my hair but noticed that leaving the concentrate on for 30-60 mins under a shower cap works best for my hair. My hair is long, highlighted, very dry, but not fried. It's fine-medium thickness and I have tons of it. Each time I've used the Redken trio my hair felt weightless and amazing in the shower. Not many products work for me and I've tried many many expensive treatments including Olaplex. Olaplex was great but stopped working as well for me after using for a year. Instead of a refill I decided to take a chance with Redken. Love that it's free of harsh chemicals and did I mention it smells so good? Not overpowering. Kind of like apples… My toddler loves sniffing my hair after I wash it lol will continue using to see if it continues working miracles for my hair. So far I'm extremely happy!!Calblonde

Smell and texture is lovely, but having a difficult time finding the right amount to use for my hair in order to get it to "do" something without making it heavy/greasy. I have long, thick, 2C/3A hair and use Hairstory New Wash for cleansing. I was just looking for something that gave my curls some extra moisture and definition with minimal hold. I can see how this might be a better product for straighter hair or even curlier hair that has a clearly defined curl pattern straight out of the shower. On a sidenote, if your skin is sensitive to fragrance, I would avoid this. I have sensitive skin and allowing my hair to air dry causes irritation where the product comes in contact with my face and neck (via my wet hair).Rachel L.

This is a great product! A little goes a long way. It is pretty pricey, but I won't dock a star just for the price. It feels very light and absorbs almost immediately, leaving my hair nicely hydrated. I found this product when I was searching for a silicone-free product that makes the hair feel like it has silicone in it. For context, I love the way silicones initially make my hair feel, but then they require removal with relatively harsher shampoos and my hair ends up feely quite dry if I use silicone-heavy products too frequently. If your hair is silicone-sensitive in a similar manner, then this product is definitely a good one to try! Also it smells phenomenal and the packaging is pretty, if you care about that type of stuff 🙂BA

I have been using this for over a year as a leave in conditioner, flyaway tamer, and general mood booster because it smells ah-mazing. I have worn my hair naturally curly in the past year and a few months ago got a keratin treatment. Milk has been helpful in both situations to keep hair looking and feeling hydrated, and I use it on damp hair as well as dry hair. When I'm traveling and am short on space, I pack this for multipurpose hair conditioning needs. It does not have any hold, so it's not really for styling (at least not for my thick hair).Natasha
