I really wanted to like this product! I was excited to try it, It smells greattt! But I naturally have super thick/long hair and it did not do a good job of making my hair feel clean. My hair still felt dirty, greasy and itchy when I got out of the shower. It also produces very little suds, which is something I need a lot of to properly clean my thick hair. Since it’s close to summer I wanted to stop styling my hair and instead start wearing it natural (in the summer it’s just way too hot to style my thick hair and the humidity makes it not last anyways!). I brought this product for a cheaper alternative. I was really disapointed with the results and damage ir had done to my hair. It made me lose hair, made my hair dry and frizzy. I really like the coconut scent, it lathers really well and I was very pleased that a little goes a long way as I have very long and thick hair. I wash my hair every 3rd day, but I wet my hair and condition it every day. I have been using the Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioner the 2nd day. I always use leave in conditioner but that day I had to use double the amount of what I normally use. Otherwise my hair felt & looked dry & frizzy. The product definitely did help with detangling my hair, not totally, but to a great enough degree where I was pleased. I didn’t notice any improvement in shine though. I was hoping to experience much more of an overall difference from all the various products I have used in the past. No huge noticeable difference, and more expensive than what I currently use. Thankful to have found and purchased this amazing shampoo. My desire to nourish and manage my natural 4C porosity hair came with a challenge. However, I remembered, that I purchased this shampoo and matching hair masque. However, for the information on Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, the page is unavailable. My budget is tight at the moment, but I usually save up for what I need. I need the Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque. Therefore, to increase the benefits to my damaged hair I gathered a portion of the Curl and Shine Hair Masque and combined it with a hint of tea tree oil, fresh rosemary water, rose water, and peppermint oil. Leaving in my hair for 30 minutes. My hair texture is incredibly moist. So I really enjoyed using the product on both my baby girl and my own hair. Because we have very very different hair types, I noticed some important things. She has a healthy head of very fine, very varied coil curls. The shampoo worked great on very wet hair, it lathered well for a clarifying shampoo without turning her hair into dry grass. I rinsed twice to make sure the water ran well and clear. The conditioner was light and moisturizing, as promoted. I took the time to work it into all strands while damp to slightly wet with a curly hair wet brush. Afterward rinsing the conditioner lightly, I put in the styling cream. Here I realized I'd put in way too much, but the effect was still very good. Her curls were less prone to tangling, moisturized and made beautiful defined coils. My hair is fine but wavy, not curly. However my hair is super dry. I like using heavily moisturizing products from time to time to feed my hair. The products were too heavy for fine straighter hair, but it really moisturized heavily. My hair has a healthy strong feel and a beautiful glisten that it has after a moisturizing hair mask. I dyed and damaged my hair so much (over the course of 2yrs) to the point where my hair didn’t wave even a little bit. I tried Nat*reLab T*kyo’s repair line for ~1yr and while it did help with the damage, it couldn’t bring my waves back, and I had MAJOR silicone buildup on my hair and scalp (yuck!). Back in May (2021) I started using this shampoo along with the super smooth cream conditioner, and my hair has never looked better. After just ONE wash, my hair had more body and volume than ever before, and over the past few months, my waves have been coming back 🙂 They look more uniform, less frizzy, and honestly curlier than they did even before I damaged my hair. The bottle looks small, but the shampoo has lasted me 3.5 months so far and there’s still enough left for me to keep using it for 1-2 more months. I follow a modified Curly Girl Method, basically I just use approved products but have to diffuse my hair since it would take all day to dry and I don't have time for that. I have fine, thin/sparse hair that needs shampoo every wash (which is two to three times a week). I got this because I have done everything suggested to combat frizz but nothing worked. I wanted an actually CG approved and tested product. I am still having issues but since I've started diffusing my hair about 10-15 minutes after getting out of the shower my frizz has gone down a little. Maybe I just have frizzy hair and no amount of anything will help, but I thought I'd try clarifying too. This product smells nice and is not overpowering. Maybe if you are sensitive to smells it still might bother you but I think you should at least try it. It doesn't linger post shower and maybe only a trace scent is left. I have short hair (just above chin length when curly) so I don't very often catch wiffs of my hair. I only know this because I used this before I got my hair cut (it was halfway down my neck when curled so some hair in the front could reach my nose for me to smell). It does not dry out my hair and even before using conditioner I can run my fingers through my hair when putting conditioner in–not completely tangle free but a lot better than what I had used before (Shea Moisture Clarifying something or other). Also, my hair does not feel squeaky clean which is great and allows an easier time of putting in conditioner. My hair feels clean but not striped of natural oils, which is exactly as I had hoped! I will say it does not lather up a lot and since I wear glasses and can't see well enough without getting super close to a mirror I probably use more than you need. I use enough so I can see the lather and it is minimal. I like that the bottle is a concentrated squirt top so you can easily get it to your scalp. I would definitely buy this again! It will last quite a while since you don't clarify often (I do twice a month and may drop off to once a month if I see better results with the rest of my routine.) Ever since I started embracing my curls/waves and started the curly girl method I've been on the look out for products that work with my hair. I love Hask, but this shampoo is terrible. It did nothing for my curls! It left my hair lifeless, didn't help my curls at all, and the frizz…omg the frizz! I got the Husk curl care detangling conditioner and it left my hair easy to manage. The consistency of the conditioner was just right. Not too thick but not too runny. It applied well and evenly to my hair. The conditioner coated the strands and wasn't messy. I usually let conditioner sit on my hair with a plastic cap for 10-20 minutes. I was able to comb through my hair with minimal tangles and the small ones I had were easy to get through. My hair felt soft and moisturized. The conditioner is vegan and had no sulphates or parabens. It's complete with coconut oil, argan oil, and vitamin to give my hair what it needs to be manageable and look great.Ajann1983
LOVE IT!!!!! I was to the point I was going to cut my hair short due to always having tangles easy, frizzy, puffy hair I had it…. I was going to give this Detangler conditioner and shampoo a try first. It smells good I use both every other day I even tried the leave in spray on my hair. Now I will say all 3 kind of made my hair greasy after a day or two, but just the shampoo and conditioner worked great for me. My hair seems straightened after a shower, shiny and smooth. I have frizzy , fine hair and the davines love smoothing shampoo really helps a lot with the smoothing process even before I use styling aids. This range is Rich in fatty acids and vitamins, I always want products that have a lot to offer. The formula has a high percentage of biodegradable ingredients. The davines brand is also sulphate free so people that have Brazilians or any color/ chemical treatment done can use it. The packaging is reusable. This is the best shampoo I have ever used! I received a sample of it in my subscription box and was amazed at the fact that it had more then one use in it! The shampoo spread nicely which is why there was more then one use in it. I have long hair too! It made my hair soft and shiny and healthy looking! It's hard to do that with my dry, brittle hair. It is quite expensive but worth every penny and then some. I always purchase in bulk when I get my taxes so I will have enough for the entire year. I've been struggling to heal bleach and color damage on my hair for a month or so now to very little avail. I've only used this twice and it's been a massive game changer! I can tell it's going to help my hair a lot. Now is my hair perfectly fixed yet? No, but I notice that it's already breaking and frizzing less, AND my waves, which I haven't seen in ages, are back which was a huge surprise! I use it after shampooing as my conditioner and just let it sit while I do other things in the shower. I definitely plan to try the shampoo as well. The smell is really nice in my opinion and didn't fight the other fragrances in my other hair products. If you're struggling with hydration after bleach damage, definitely give this a try!Alex
This SheaMoisture Deep Conditioning High Porosity Hair Masque 11 oz smells really nice, the texture is really nice, and it has made my hair look nicer and softer after using it a few times a week in my hair. After I take a shower and my hair is damp, I massage some of this product into my hair and I start brushing my hair afterwards. My hair feels softer and looks nicer. It does not look as dry as previous to using this product, it is also not greasy, it has mongongo oil, jojoba oil, and aloe vera in it. So, this mask on it own doesn’t really do anything super revolutionary. It does help the hair retain moisture. But that’s nothing that can’t be done with a leave in conditioner. I did use it consistently for 3 weeks prior to deciding whether or not I liked it. Frankly? It’s just okay. The smell isn’t anything to get super excited about, in my opinion. I’d describe it as an earthy, nutty scent. Nothing floral, fresh or fruity about it- which I do prefer my hair products at least somewhat fragrant. Using it following the matching shampoo does help split ends and hair shafts retain even more moisture, but I was significantly more impressed with the shampoo than the hair mask. 5/10 in my personal opinion. I actually really like this conditioner. The first time I bought it, I didn't. I decided to give it another try and k actually really like it. I use it as a rinse out and when I "squish to condish". I feel more comfortable using this for squish to condish rather than a normal rinse out conditioner because those are not meant to be left in the hair and this one is. I do rinse this out though. I really wanted to love this product and I did in the first month of using it. I applied it in the shower and brushed through it really easily, it helped revive my waves, and I really liked the smell. Unfortunately after about a month of use I started noticing really bad dandruff at the front of my hairline, big dandruff flakes, and the nape of my neck was itch. Then I started getting this weird buildup on my hair after the shower. My hair just felt really tacky, when I tried to brush through it, it got tangled immediately because it was sticking to itself, I even noticed some white buildup on my brush. So the next time, I washed the brush, washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, and made sure to wash out the conditioner well…really well. And it still left this really sticky gross buildup on my hair. It was almost impossible to even run my fingers through. I shampooed my hair twice with a clarifying shampoo and went back to one of my old conditioners and my hair is pretty much back to normal. There is still maybe one part that is still a little sticky/tacky so I'll have to wash it again. Maybe this works for some people, it just didn't work for me. I really like Not Your Mother's products but this particular one didn't quite make the cut. I love how they are free of alcohol, silicones, phthalates, sulfates and dyes. This can be used as a leave in conditioner, rinse out or just as a co-wash. It does enhance my curls and give some definition but my hair is so oily the next day, I have to wash it. Also, my hair seems extra tangley and dry the next day. Just remember that everybody's curls are different and so what might not work for me, might work for you.ashley.b

I alternate between the Be Curly conditioner and the Scalp Remedy conditioner. The both work great according to my hair needs (flaky scalp, fine curly hair) and they both smell fantastic. I highly recommend taking advantage of the Aveda rewards program. Save your points. I stock up when they run triple points weekends. We were able to save enough points to cash them in for a trip to the Aveda Spa and resort in Antigua. I've been using Be Curly Curl Enhancer as my only styling product for years and love it, so I thought I'd splurge on the Be Curly Shampoo and Conditioner. It's way more $$$ than I usually spend, but I try to only wash my curly hair a few times a week. My hair is thick and curly and tangles easily, but otherwise low-maintenance; my stylist always comments on how healthy it is. This conditioner does nothing to help detangle my hair and I end up having to use a ton of it. When I rinse it out, it leaves my hair feeling sticky when it's wet and coarse when it's dry. This curl cream was one of my first purchases from Mielle! I was very excited to use it, it actually worked great for my curly hair at first. My hair actually started growing out thicker. I was also using the avocado moisturizer with this curl cream. Unfortunately, I noticed that with or without the moisturizer, my hair still looked like dry curls! This is my favorite curl cream from their collection and keeps my hair looking amazing for like 3 days after I initially applied it. I have curly, frizzy extremely dehydrated hair. First of all, this conditioner smells like a a coconut punch to your nose. If you dislike fragrance, this will not suit you. If you hate coconut, smelling this will make you faint. I do not mind gentle coconut smell, but this perfume is too strong. However, I got used to the smell over time, so now I no longer notice it. The performance, however, is nothing special. I noticed that my hair became even more frizzy than before, and not moisturized at all. The dispenser is horrible. The dispenser hole is extremely small, and I must exercise in order to get a good amount of product in my hand. Do not try taking out the dispenser, because the product is like a clump of clay and will not exit the bottle without the dispenser. Just use the pump until you give up. In conclusion, I will finish this product, but I will not purchase it again.iHerb Customer

I've done some major damage to my locks. When I decide to make a change, I go big. Especially when it comes to coloring. My most recent endeavor being royal rock-star purple. Against my better judgement I allowed my stylist to convince me that by bleaching my hair I'd be able to attain a shade of purple that would be intense enough to make prince faint. This would've been a better idea if I hadn't been using boxed dye to dye my hair various colors over the past five or so years. The purple was great, but the color faded out to the bleached blonde beneath, and my hair started turning from gold to straw. I tried everything from hot oil treatments and leave in conditioners, all the way to the ever-classic regimen of mayo and raw eggs…boy does that smell terrible afterwards. But nothing was bringing the luster back into my hair. It was dry, brittle, constantly knotted and tangled, if I tried to run my fingers through my hair, even thirty seconds after brushing it, they would get so entangled it made a Chinese finger trap seem like a farce. Even out of the shower, after a ten minute hair mask treatment, with leave in conditioner set in my hair, it would take twenty minutes to brush out, leaving enough hair behind in my brush that I considered opening a wig shop. Desperate, I went through every conditioning item I could, and came across this humble brand. This hair care line, is amazing. I already posted a review about the deep conditioning mask which I'm certain has saved my hair. In between my two uses of the mask every week I use this lucent little cream rinse. This brand, and product, is perfect for my damaged hair. It doesn't leave behind any residue like most conditioners do. It's lightweight so my hair is voluminous. I was afraid, at first, that it wouldn't condition my hair enough, because when I rinsed the product out it didn't feel like anything was left behind, as most products leave you with that oily, waxy sensation that we mistake for conditioning, but is really only build-up. But when I ran the brush through my hair I was able to brush it out in less than a minute, with barely a strand left in the brush. My hair is shiny, soft, silky smooth, manageable, and all around healthy. My breakage is minimal, fly-aways are extinct, and I'm even noticing acceleration to my hairs growth rate, I'm postulating that that is due to my hair actually getting back to a healthful state. I can run my fingers through it without any trouble and it smells fantastic. I would fully recommend this product, this whole line of products, for anyone who likes to go big with their hair like me and has some serious mane debasement to correct.heather
This product is decent. I would say decent quality. I haven’t used it long enough to see results but when I use it, it leaves my hair feeling greasy. I tried to apply as little as possible but still. It has an applicator which makes it easy to use on the scalp, but during the message it’ll spread. I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to try the , as it is intended for those with curly, thick hair. My hair is straight and fine. However, I often struggle with finding good conditioners because my hair is very long and tangles really easily. When trying this product, I really loved it! It left my hair feeling soft, detangled, and smelling amazing. The conditioner is thick in consistency, but is easy to apply to my long hair. A little went a long way. I love all the nourishing and moisturizing ingredients in this conditioner, which bring a little taste of the tropics to the dry climate where I live. I have tried out several of Maui Moisture’s conditioners, and this coconut oil one is BY FAR my favorite! This conditioner has an AMAZING tropical/fruity/clean fragrance to it. It has a medium thick consistency to it, which I prefer over being too runny, or too thick making it difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. I leave this conditioner on while I am performing the rest of my shower routine. This way I can give the conditioner enough time to soak into my freshly shampooed hair. I have pretty dry hair so this coconut oil conditioner does it wonders. Once it has been on my hair for a sufficient amount of time high brush it out under the running water. I have very tingle prone hair but this conditioner makes detangling a breeze. After rinsing out the product I am left with silky smooth hair that smells amazing. My mom has thick, coarse hair so I had her try out this conditioner as well. She too was left with beautiful, silky hair after using this conditioner! I have wavy hair and this conditioner really brought out and defined my wave pattern. I think this would be a lovely conditioner for others with wavy to curly hair. Hair background: I have medium to high density hair. My hair is medium porosity type 4a natural hair. Product: This conditioner has a thick consistency. it is white and has a very pleasent scent. in terms of the packaging I wish it was bigger because you tend to use more conditioner than shampoo as a curly girl. so I would change the packaging to be bigger and also an upside down packaging to help with product flow. Product on natural hair: Not sure if it is safe for color treated hair. However it worked well on my un-color treated hair. This conditioner is not as conditioning as other conditioners which is the main reason why I rated it as I did. it absorbs very well into my dehydrated hair but it didnt condition it well. It also did not have alot of slip and I found detangling my hair with flowing water easier than detangling my hair with this conditioner. it is an overall ok conditioner for natural hair but it needs a follow up leave in conditioner. This product caught my eye at Walmart and I instantly threw it in the cart. I’m a product junkie and I always end up buying a bunch of products that don’t work. I put this in my hair as soon as I got home because it was dry and tangled and it was instantly soft and moisturized. I even fell asleep without wrapping my hair and instead of waking up with my hair dry and frizzy, it was still super soft and moisturized. I’m in love! Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. I purchased a small trial size of this for travelling (and I also didn't want to commit to a large expensive size).. It's fine. I will continue to use it but I am not sure if I will purchase it again. I have been using this on the days when I don't use the co wash to clean my scalp. I feel like I need to use quite a lot and after massaging my scalp, I feel like quite a lot of my hair comes out in the shower. It feels like it tangles my hair a bit too which I'm not overly keen on but my hair seems fine after conditioning. Curlsmith definitely have many other products that I prefer over this one. This may be great for other hair types but isn't the perfect product for me.Rachel
"Dermatologically tested" was done on 25 participants with only a maximum of 13 people allowed to have sensitive skin. I found this out after I emailed the company and told them my scalp was painful and sore for more than 4 days after using the shampoo (conditioner I regularly use and no styling products). I had to rewash within several hours. I then patch tested the remaining products in the line on my arm several days later. My arm swelled with welts and my throat started to close 20 minutes later when I started having an anaphylactic reaction. I have no known allergies to anything on the label.
This is my first time using Curlsmith products, and I'm still giving them a fair trial. So far, with the Shine Conditioner, I appreciate that it's perfume free. I have sensitive skin and it is not bothering me at all. It also makes my hair feel much softer, with only a small amount of product needed. I have thin curls and am an athlete that is in the pool and working out multiple times a day. I have loved just about everything I've used from Paul Mitchell. The product seems to do what it is designed to do, only tried it once. However, I would like to know how this product passed quality control due to the smell?!! It literally smells like the bottom of a litter box with 4 Male cats. I hope y'all read my full review but I know I talk a lot so in case you want me to get straight to the point: the price IS worth it because you don't have to use a lot so it lasts, follow the instructions on the bottle, & watch Curlsmith change not just your hair, but your life. This product has been a miracle to my hair after years of damage & neglect. I am in love with Curlsmith. My hair feels like butter every time I use it! I have 2B, medium porosity, fine, very long, wavy hair. This product right here is the first one that got me hooked on this brand. This co-wash is amazing! I don't need to use a lot so even though the price is higher, it really is worth it, I'm telling you!!! I was so hesitant to buy this at first because of the price but now I can't go back to other brands. I am spoiled & I ended up spending more money on cheaper brands because I had to use so much more product for them to even work! Nothing compares to this. Just the smaller size bottle still lasted me for months. It's gentle enough to use everyday if you wanted but I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week if needed. This product cleanses my scalp & roots, removing dirt, sweat, & buildup without making my roots feel dry & stripped because it still adds moisture! I don't just use it for my roots & scalp, I also apply it to the entire length of my hair & detangle in the shower. Even though my hair is bleached, I'm an every day wash person. I've only ever been able to skip shampoo for 1 day before getting gross. The only other co-wash I've tried is the TGIN one (which was less cleansing than this but also nice- maybe a good fit for folks who find this too harsh). For me, this hits a nice balance between cleansing and keeping my hair in good shape. It definitely strips my hair MUCH less than a traditional shampoo, but it cleanses more than washing with a conditioner typically would. I've been able to use this instead of shampoo for 2 days in a row without feeling like my scalp is gross. I use ~1-2 quarter sized pumps in my shoulder length hair. IMO that's more a bit more product than I "should" need to use at this price point, but nothing wild. I condition after I use this as well. My hair is weighed down pretty easily and this didn't weigh me down. For context: my hair is 2B, bleached (high porosity), and dense with fine/fragile individual strands.Claire
Relevant info: I have shoulder length, extremely fine (like, hairdressers comment on how fine it is), 2C/3A hair. I decided to try this on a whim because I love curlsmith's moisture memory reactor so much. I haven't had much luck with cowashing in the past, because my hair is so fine it gets weighed down and buildup very easily. But boy am I glad I tried it! I've used it 3 times so far (every other day) and I haven't had to use my regular shampoo/conditioner at all. I tried it originally without using styling products after, because I wanted to try it on its own, and honestly I expected it to weigh my hair down as other cowash products have. I was shocked after it dried (I always air dry) that my hair was extremely soft and fluffy. No product left behind, no clumps, nothing. It was actually a bit too fluffy for my taste, so the next time I used the moisture memory reactor afterwards (as a leave in) and my hair was as perfect as it ever has been. Not weighed down, but not frizzy or fluffy, nice waves/curls, soft and touchable, not crunchy. Love it. I like frequent use conditioner so I tried this one. I have a sensitive scalp and unfortunately no matter how i tried to just use it on my ends somehow it was way too heavy and ended up causing scalp issues. I cover my iPad Pro 2020 with pip by pipetto origami case with side slot for apple pencil. Then I carry it withing this great case and it fits nicely even with the pipetto cover in place. So I decided to use products to help my hair since I’m desperate to grow my hair back to how it use to be but nothing has been working until my dad came across this product and had me try it out, and I only used it two times a week for 2 weeks and I already notice a different in my hair and that my hair is growing, I also have curly hair and my hair would get frizzy a lot so I’d always put it in fishtail braids but when I didn’t have a chance to I noticed my hair wasn’t so frizzy and it was silky. This is a fantastic deep conditioner! If you don't like thick deep conditioners or hair masks, this is not the product for you. What I loved most about this product was the fact that I could apply generously, but didn't use a lot. I have type 4, dry, low porosity hair, and needed a thick mask to use occasionally when my hair feels dry. After applying the product, I let it sit in my hair for about 30-45 minutes with a plastic cap and it did its thing. My hair was left moisturized and the mask was easy to wash out. The scent of the product is light when you open the jar, but once applying it, it does increase a bit. For some reason, it had a very masculine scent to me, but it wasn't too offputting. If your hair can tolerate coconut and thick masks, this is the product for you. My only recommendation is to avoid ordering it online and try to find the product in stores because the price is nearly double the amount than it should be.Sunny

The ONLY two things I love about this conditioner are the scent and softness of how my hair becomes after. That’s why I only gave it 2 stars. If you have carpal tunnel or arthritis, skip this product and go for something else. This bottle was horribly invented for this amazing conditioner. It’s EXTREMELY hard to squeeze the conditioner out and you can’t even take the cover off to make it easier. Also, you have to hold the bottle then swing it hard in order for the conditioner to get off the bottom to the top, then squeeze it real hard. To me, it’s not worth it. It only makes my carpal tunnel worse.Honesty
i LOVED THIS!! i have (well had! not anymore) dry, frizzy hair that gets tangled easily, especially in the shower. used this on my scalp (yes my hair is THAT dry.) and ends in the shower, and it was so nice and luxurious. i didnt even need to use a hand brush/detangling brush because my hair immediately straightened up in the shower just using my fingers for a few seconds. my hair also felt SO moisturized afterwards, literally so soft. i loved this so much, it didnt make my hair oily, it locked in enough moisture to give me the hair i actually desired from a hair product. will never use any other conditioners unless they can give me a whole new head of hair like this one does!!! i definitely recommend, never used a better product. and no, this review is not automatic, bcz this is THAT good!!!!!!!janis
This is the best product for my crazy hair. I have frizzy hair, a little wavy and thin at the scalp. It is color treated and dry at the ends. I normally use ogx Brazilian conditioner but not crazy for the scent. I was just attracted to Maui smell and color. It wasnt very expensive, so decided to try. So glad I did. My hair has truly transformed into a healthy, soft, shiny and bouncy texture. I absolutely love it! I use Royal oils H&s for shampoo because I had dandruff, that helped and it’s been over a year I’ve used and got rid of it. This conditioner is amazing. Seriously, the price is affordable.
