This SheaMoisture High Porosity Moisture Replenish Shampoo is GREAT. I really like the scent and how clean my hair is after use. It is not watered down nor is it very thin, it comes out smoothly and I only need a small amount to thoroughly clean my hair. I like the way my hair feels afterwards and the very nice smell. I use SheaMoisture products and this too shall be added to my normal hair care routine and will replace my current shampoo. It lathers extremely well and rinses out even better…my hair is softer and easily styled after using the shampoo. I am so sad. I love this brand. prior to the formula revamp i bought the regular shampoo and the hair conditioner and my hair was so happy! it smelled amazing and my hair was so soft and bouncy all the time. I am not sure why they changed the formula but the new one, I can't wash it out of my hair fully no matter how long i scrub my scalp. Whats worse is it says 'low poo' but it does not 'poo' (lather) at all. So i can't tell how much i have left in my hair. I wish they would switch it back to the old formula. I received complimentary from DevaCurl their LOW-POO® DELIGHT Mild Lather Cleanser for Rich Moisture. I love how small and cute the bottle is, easy for traveling. I added this into my hair routine. The cleanser doesn't go on like shampoo. You cleanse from your scrap to your ends. It has a slight smell but not to overpowering and doesn't smell like chemical. I like that you can use it with color treated hair. My curls have lost some definition. I always condition after. But with Devacurl, I noticed after rinsing my hair felt really soft, so I skipped the conditioning. I also noticed how my hair felt less oily and their was less frizz. I received this No-Poo Original Zero Lather Cleanser for Rich Moisture complimentary from DevaCurl. DevaCurl is the original curly girl friendly brand. I haven't used their products in a while, but I was excited to get to use their "no-poo" again. Imagine my surprise when I realized that after the recent reformulation, this product is no longer curly girl friendly! I am extremely disappointed that they no include isopropyl alcohol in their formulation. The product still smells very good and has the traditional no lather formula that is characteristic of this type of cleanser. But putting a drying alcohol in something that is supposed to be for the driest hair type means I will not be using this product in the future. Very disappointed in DevaCurl.Clgjt13

This product sounded good, it was I might add over priced for a "sample size" but it's a good brand so I thought I'd try it. I cut my hair recently and usually it curls more when shorter so I was looking for a new conditioner. I've seen thick conditioners before but this ridiculously thick even turned upside down banging it on the bathtub wall barely any came out. You shouldn't have to poke your finger in and try to get enough out and that's filled up …what if it was far down. A terrible product contaIner, perhaps it's a good product. The little bit I got out was okay (no bad smell) but returning it and complaining. Sometimes a great product is put into a terrible container. I don't know why they are calling this "original" since it is nothing like the original formula. I used No-Poo and other Deva products exclusively for about 10 years and loved the brand. Then a couple of years ago, I noticed that there was a slightly different smell to the No-Poo & the product seemed to go bad after a short while and cause skin irritation for me and my kiddos. I compared labels from some older travel bottles a year or so ago, and the ingredients were the same, so most likely it was just a different formula or fragrance. I stopped using around that time because the irritation was causing my hair to thin. I decided to try No-Poo again after the 2021 re-brand, hoping they had realized their mistake and gone back to the original formula. But instead Deva implemented a totally new coconut based formula, which inflamed my scalp & neck so much that I only used it once. This addition of coconut ingredients appears to be true for other rebranded Deva Products (noticeably One Condition, which I was still using without issue up until the rebrand). If you know you're allergic to coconut-based oils or alcohols or if you have sensitive skin, you may want to skip this one. Also, my condolences to anyone in the former group because coconut-free products (including cetearyl or stearyl alcohol) are extremely hard to find, and if you're also sensitive to Shea or Argan or palm oils, forget it. I'm sticking to Castile-type cleansers until I find a product line that works and doesn't have these common allergens.Formerdeva

This product should be discontinued by the smell alone. The product itself seems to he ok for hair. The one and only time I used it, it did make my hair feel a lot more moisturized. But the smell…TERRIBLE!! It smelled so bad but despite the smell, I still tried it in hopes that it would go away. Well this made me sick. Trigggered migraines that lasted days. Worst of all, several washes later, the horrible smell would not go away. I must say I love the way this smells, but I have used other co washes that have cleansed my hair a lot better. It leaves my roots feeling oily and the rest of the hair shaft feeling like it left a film. I will say I have 3a/3b curls, so it could be that it's too heavy for my hair type.Margarita

The consistency is somewhat thick but very creamy. Application was easy because the co wash has decent slip. Has a perfume scent but nothing overpowering. I was able to detangle my hair quickly. I wanted to love this product but I think it was too thick and heavy for my hair. I felt that it left my hair greasy feeling and not very clean. It didnt lather well (which makes sense as a thick cream consistency) but it was hard to really know if it was getting evenly distributed. I'm impressed with this Curl smith Multi tasking conditioner. This is a conditioner that works for all hair types. This is so good in helping my hair nourished and makes it look great. I'm so happy this is all in one product which can be used as conditioner, deep conditioner and leave in. I love how this smells it helps my hair making it shiny looking after taking a bath, refreshed and less frizz. It is also a great way to detangle my hair and helps me styling my hair. The packaging on this is thin plastic, so if feels kind of cheap. I do not care for the scent of this product either. I normally love scents in my products but this one is so strong and unpleasant. The product is a lot thinner than what I was expecting which is pretty disappointing. I needed to apply more conditioner than I normally would and there was very little slip so it was hard to detangle. It did absolutely nothing to moisturize my hair, unfortunately. Very effective on my 3A curly, medium density and porosity hair (tested during humid winter weather). After using drugstore curls products for years, I decided to try the Curlsmith after seeing it on YouTube. I've been using it for about two months now, mainly as a conditioner and sometimes as a deep conditioner. During this time I switched once to Aveda nutriplenish deep conditioner & shampoo and as a result my hair became dry and frizzy. In the next wash, when I used Curlsmith again, my hair was back to being manageable and frizz-free. FYI, most of the time I used Jason Aloe Vera Shampoo, and after each wash, I used Curlsmith Air Dry Cream and Camille Rose Curl Maker. Then I diffused my hair. (My main focus with hair products is to achieve frizz-free hair and not to enhance curls, so I can't talk about enhancing curls.) I used this product several times as a leave-in conditioner and found it a little too heavy and oily. As some reviewers mentioned, Curlsmith products have quite a strong fragrance but I think it's mostly noticeable on wash day. Personally, I'm not that sensitive to that and I like the smell (they have a new fragrance-free line now, but I haven't tried it). My only drawback is the high price tag for a small quantity, but at the same time, a little goes a long way (I have medium length hair, and if you wash about every 3-4 days it'll last a decent amount of time). This product may not be ideal for everyone's hair type, but it's worth a try in my opinion.Curly 3A

My hair is naturally curly. I tried many products to try and keep the freeze at bay. The humidity where I live is ridiculous. This actually helped me out so so much. My hubby bought me the dyson hair curler set, as soon as I was done the curls would fall and the frizz took over. I wanted to love the dyson, but was really regretting the amount my hubby paid for it. Mixed chicks saved me totally… I gave it a try with my dyson and it actually worked wonders. I air curled it yesterday and they are still looking good today. This does work on all hair types. My oldest daughter's hair is closer to mine with a lot of frizz and my youngest has the brittle hair texture with the tighter curls. Both are also loving this. My go to leave in. Blends in smoothly and my hair soaks up this product. What needs to be improved is the smell of this product because it's underwhelming. Also sometimes the product can leave my curls crunchy if I don't follow up with a smoothing styling cream or an oil. Other than that I find that these are small sacrifices based off the other leave-in conditioners that are on the market that will sometimes leave my hair with lots of residue or no moisturized. I am no hair expert. I have semi curly, semi wavy, straight in some places, a little dry here, a little oily there type of hair. It just doesn’t know what it is doing. Can I obsess over the smell for a moment? Amazing! It was the first thing that literally blew my mind! It’s a mix of cocoa butter (obviously) and this amazing smell that I’ve never been able to pinpoint in some hair products but reminds me of a great smelling man! Lol. Let’s move on. The product is super creamy but it doesn’t leave your hair feeling gunky or heavy. It’s super lightweight and left my hair shiny and the curls so defined! My hair already looks and feels healthier after just one use! I have naturally curly hair but I always straighten it because my curls won’t stay intact once it dries. I tried this product in two ways. I tried it as it was recommended, which was to use heat for deeper penetration and the other was leaving the deep conditioner on for 30-40 minutes. I feel like doing it these ways got me the samw result which is great for people who dont like using heat at all. Using this helped me detangle my hair because it gave enough slip from how moisturizing it is. Also, my half of my hair has been bleached twice and the color immediately after. That side of my hair had been limp for so long until i started using this for weeks. I want to add emphasis on weeks because its not a fast process and it took multiple uses to start seeing my curl pattern get stronger. My only complaint is that spreading it can be a little bit hard and you might have to use alot to fully saturate the hair if you long hair. This is also not buttery enough for curlier hair, like 3c to 4c hair. (in the picture i did finger coil my hair but everything i said still is relevant. In all my years I have never found a Deep conditioner that actually deep conditions. BUT THIS RIGHT HERE HONEST TO GOD, on all that I love has been absolutely and GEM find. I picked it up by chance at Target and was blown away. But of course my luck they were no longer selling in stores. I found only one other store the sells this and I pray they never stop selling. I bought this to try as a pre-color treatment, so my color won't "grab" porous hair (as per another reviewer on Sally Beauty). I will report back after I do the color in the next day or two. In prep, I washed my hair and used it as a leave-in since I will be coloring. I think I used about a tablespoon on my short hair, which was a little too much…will try a little less next time. It smells very nice. I will probably end up using this as a regular conditioner a couple times a week, since my hair needs extra TLC. RE: ROUX Shampoo & Conditioner I have dermatitis of the scalp. I found these (2) products do not cause itching & flaking as other products. ROUX Conditioner is not heavy. I can leave in w/o rinsing which gives my hair bounce (it has body and using ROUX Conditioner I can now scrunch my hair into curls while drying). Over the years I have tried many expensive & OTC products but none have given me the desired results that these two ROUX products have. I will continue to use these products for my hair. Hopefully, ROUX won't change its Shampoo/Conditioner formula which I find happens to good products that I depend on. So please, stay with this fantastic formula. I bought the 2oz bottle, not a gallon but there's no option for it. So I used the sample sachet of the unscented version and I thought it was good sulfate-free shampoo. I wanted to try a scented one so I bought the 2oz Island Fantasy and I don’t know what went wrong. I had to use way more of the shampoo this time around to even get enough to work through to my scalp. When I rinsed it out this time it felt like my hair was stripped and squeaky and my roots felt tangled. When I used the unscented sample it was soft and felt smooth in my hair when rinsing out. I followed this up with my usual go-to Dove intense moisture conditioner and my hair is not drying the same. It looks dry, feels dry, and the frizz has been real. I’ve been trying to tame it by twisting and clipping it up in a bun all day because of how bad my hair has been looking. Is there a difference between the unscented and Island Fantasy? Really sucks because I’ve been wanting to find a good sulfate-free shampoo to use in between normal sulfate washes, but it seems like none of Jessicurl products work for me.julia.s

One of the things about gels that I run into is it not being being 100% compatible with very season. Some gels are good for all year round, while some gels work their magic best in certain seasons, but this gel right here work’s it’s magic no matter the season or whatever may come up, where your hair needs strong hold and ultimate frizz protection that you can count on truly all day long. This gel is glycerin free, for those who may be interested in such. It does contain alcohol listed as its last ingredient, but alcohol is actually a component t of one of the polyquat’s used in this product. So, alcohol isn’t added separately to this product, for those that may have been wondering. It is on 7/10ths of this product. Also, you do not smell any traces of such when you smell this product at all. The fragrance free version comes completely fragrance free, and this gel has a lightweight consistency (but is not runny), it dries clear, it doesn’t flake, and it gives y hair hold fit more than one day, which for me is a miracle, because with most stylers that I use, I have to refresh my hair with more styling product ASAP every morning. Because, after I sleep on my hair, even with a satin bonnet on, my hair typically be needing some extra help in the mornings, for sure. But, the hold on this product is fantastic. I can use this product on both wet and dry hair without any problems, but I do choose to use Jessicurl’s hairspray (which is alcohol free) to give my hair a quick pick me up or to take flyaways that may pop up in between my hair wash day. They do have a curl refresher within the Jessicurl line, but it just isn’t best suited for my hair unfortunately. But, their hair spray on the other hand works so much better at reviving my hair, whenever needed. This is a very universal gel that was created for all curltypes, all hair textures, and definitely for all races. So, if you haven’t given Jessicurl a try yet, I’d highly recommend checking out all that they have to offer and what products may suit your wavy, curly, or coily hair best for sure!sybil.w

Maybe I just have the worst luck with hair products or something because it’s such a struggle to find anything that actually works. I purchased a small 2oz bottle of this deep conditioner and I don’t understand what’s deep conditioning about it. It’s super-duper thick and hard to get out of the bottle which seemed like a good thing if it was moisturizing at all. The smell was nice and light but had a hint of a weird crayon smell that the other unscented Jessicurl products have. It had no slip and I was already kind of worried that it would not be moisturizing. I left it on and put a cap on for 30 ish minutes with a towel wrapped around my head to trap heat in. I also periodically used the blow dryer to heat it up inside the towel. I rinsed it all out and then put some argan oil and OGX Moroccan oil and wrapped my hair with a Tshirt. When I was letting it air dry after that, I could tell things were going south with how crispy and frayed my ends were looking. I JUST trimmed my ends a week before as well so this shouldn’t have happened if I deep conditioned my hair. During the drying process, my hair frizzed up a lot and looked super dry and crispy. My ends felt crispy and my ends were a tangled mess. I tried to smooth out my frizzy waves but it was still a terrible mess (photo on the right).julia.s

i like this! definitely better for curlier, thicker hair. i have wavy hair; thin strands but a lot of it. it's quite moisturizing and leaves your hair shiny, but i have to use less to avoid my hair becoming weighed down. i would avoid if you have fine and thin hair as this is definitely not a weightless product. i ended up gifting one of my bottles to my little nieces and nephews who have 3c/4a curls and it works amazing on them! it makes quick work of tangles, reduces frizz, and helps with curl shrinkage. i always keep some for whenever they visit. the smell is quite sweet rather than floral however.kaiju

I have very low porosity curly/wavy hair and was hoping for a win with this leave-in, but I wasn't that impressed. My main issue is that it smells horrible. Definitely pushed me to avoid products with fragrance in them from now on because if this stuff is supposed to have a berry scent, they missed the mark big time. Smelled more like a mix of chemicals, (unused) cat litter, and some kind of perfume somehow. I used it for a couple months anyway because I wanted to see how it worked over time and it never really got my hair very soft. It definitely made it stringy though. This isn't necessarily a bad product, but it's not my favorite. The smell is light and clean, though it is undoubtedly not a sudsy shampoo. Zero suds. A typical wash requires about two uses, and tons of extra product to get the job done. The product leaves hair soft, frizz-free, and ultimately shiny, so claims prove true. It's a pretty good product I wouldn't mind using, unfortunately, its downfall is its packaging. The bottle is not ergonomic in the least. I've been using the shampoo and the conditioner together and have not been impressed at all. My hair does not feel extra hydrated, it's not soft (let alone softer) and definitely not glossy! In fact it looks very dull. It's safe to say that it's the worst conditioner/shampoo I've ever used. I'm going back to my much cheaper shampoo/conditioner combo and looking forward to softer, shinier, silkier and cleaner hair! Too bad because Verb looked promising…edjona10

I love the way this feels on my hair! I use other curlsmith products and this is great for traveling because it works well for less intense curls and I don't have to worry about the "cast." The product itself is very thin, it runs all over my hands and a bunch gets wasted. I wish their travel bottles had the nozzle on top. I'd buy the big size but not the small!K

I took the hair quiz and really wanted to like these products. But I would say almost every single product I have used makes my hair feel disgusting. My hair type varies between 3a and 2b..maybe my hair just isn’t meant for this company. I haven’t had issues til I started these but will continue to use as I don’t want to waste my money.. I reached out once, and I was instructed to use less product. I was already using about a nickels worth. Then the second time I was suggested to use a clarifying shampoo.Kelly E.

I love most of the Curlsmith products… they've completely transformed my curls. I embrace them now! This new protein line is amazing!! I've used this aqua gel alone & with the feather-light protein cream, both have given excellent results! This gel leaves an amazing cast, like other reviewers have said, it's water-like texture glides on easily. I haven't tried it with the bouncy strength volume foam yet, but that's next on my combo list! Will definitely keep this gel in my line-up. It's another YES from me for Curlsmith!!McHayes

Love this stuff! If your hair is dry, this daily a hair dress will keep it moisturized throughout the day. It is not greasy and your hair feels soft. You can use it on dry or wet hair. I would definitely recommend this productDani

I am a fair-skinned redhead with fine, very curly hair (corkscrew curls, pencil to Sharpie diameter). I bought the Pattern 3-conditioner sampler, so I could see what works best for me. My hair has been dry lately, due to hypothyroidism, and I wash it more in the summer. So I need good hydration! Anyway… If you have fine hair, do not be afraid to try the "Intensive" conditioner!! Even though this is an intensive conditioner — kind of like a "hair mask" — it is not too heavy for my fine hair. I find that it hydrates beautifully, and after being rinsed out and then paired with a curl-defining leave-in cream, my curls are very defined, shiny, bouncy (not at all weighed-down), and frizz-resistant… even in hot, humid, rainy Maryland summer weather. I'm very happy with this, and can't wait to try the Heavy and Medium conditioners. My hair has different needs depending on the time of year, weather, and my activities. So it will be interesting to experiment with all three. I also look forward to trying the leave-in curl cream. Another important note: I am very sensitive to perfumey, over-fragranced products. That's not a problem with this conditioner. It smells nice (NOT overpowering) when using it, and then the fragrance fades. So it won't clash with your cologne or make you sneeze! Call me pleasantly surprised because what started as an "error" turned out to be the favorite! I had purchased the Intensive Conditioner in the past and thought it was the one I selected. After purchasing it however I realized I had selected the Heavy Conditioner but I figured I'd try it. WOW! It was actually BETTER than I expected! I mean peep the before and after photos! The cream left my hair feeling exactly how it's advertised, lucious, juicy and smooth! The best part? It doesn't leave my hair feeling heavy and sticky. As for the quality? Well the Conditioner itself is PERFECT so that is why I give this 5 stars. I don't often make a big deal about packaging but this container and pump just didn't work. Maybe it's cause the cream is too thick? I had to resort to scooping it with my hands which makes me use more than I think is needed but this package defect is forgotten once you use the conditioner. Ok, let's get some things straight about this product. It says Heavy Conditioner for Coily hair. I read several comments of dissatisfaction of this product. My daughter has Coily/curly hair. I have tried Several.. Products which would nourish/hydrate and detangle her hair altogether. Nothing worked, until I tried Pattern Heavy conditioner for Coily hair. Yes, it is a thick conditioner, that's why it's labeled Heavy. After applying this conditioner to my daughters hair as instructed, my daughters hair is so much easier to manage, comb and detangle. I do not have to struggle to comb out her tangles like before using Pattern. If you do not have Coily/Curly hair, this product is not for you. I am using several of the Pattern products for my self and my daughter and they all work perfectly. My hair is curly and my daughter has Coily/Curly, there is a difference in our hair pattern, so therefore we use different kind of Pattern products. I have been and still a satisfied customer of Pattern Products. Lastly, make sure you know your hair type before buying products.Life Pattern

i never write reviews for anything but holy cow this quite literally saved my hair. for reference i have a mix of 2b, 2c, and 3a hair due to years of coloring and heat damage. i have quite a bit of hair and it's thick, low porosity, and protein sensitive. no matter what "hydrating" products i've used my hair has always felt dry and never absorbed anything i put in it. i got my colored red hair retouched recently and not quite sure what my stylist used to treat my hair this time around but it came out sooo dry and brittle. after some research and finding out more about my hair type i decided to try this plus the conditioner that goes with it. and wow is all i have to say. i've never had hair this soft straight out the shower and it's so easy to comb through now. curls i thought were lost forever returned. i'm also noticing less hair fallout probably from my hair not being so tangled anymore. this shampoo cleanses really well without stripping my hair and it just overall transformed the look and feel of my hair. 10/10 recommend if you have a similar hair typepia

This SheaMoisture High Porosity Moisture Replenish Shampoo is GREAT. I really like the scent and how clean my hair is after use. It is not watered down nor is it very thin, it comes out smoothly and I only need a small amount to thoroughly clean my hair. I like the way my hair feels afterwards and the very nice smell. I use SheaMoisture products and this too shall be added to my normal hair care routine and will replace my current shampoo. It lathers extremely well and rinses out even better…my hair is softer and easily styled after using the shampoo.
