I’ve struggled with dandruff for years and have tried EVERY product; Selsun Blue, T/Gel, head and shoulders, home remedies, you name it. Head and Shoulders was really the only thing I found that kept it somewhat at bay and I still only use the condition along with using Nizoral shampoo. I have very thick and curly hair so I don’t wash it often which is why none of the other products worked for me because they would make my hair way too greasy. I have been using Nizoral for about 3 months now and will never use anything else. After only about a week of using it I noticed a drastic change in my scalp, no flakes AT ALL!! This is going to sound very disgusting but at one point many years ago I had dandruff really really bad. At least I thought it was the address. I kept using every single day and your shampoo I could find and it did very little. My skin on my scalp would flake and almost healed to the point of being a lot like cradle cap that little babies have. I really wanted to love this conditioner. I am 39, with fine, curly 3A hair that is beginning to thin. I am transitioning to natural hair and have begun co-washing. Finding a growth stimulating conditioner that doesn’t require a shampoo is harder than you’d think! This conditioner ticked so many boxes. And it actually left my hair feeling wonderfully soft. Soft enough that I didn’t mind the slightly medicinal scent. Sadly, after only a couple of uses, my skin near the hairline, my back, and even my ears started to break out horribly. Tiny, itchy, bumpy acne so inflamed that I had to wear foundation for the first time in years and basically went into hiding. Even my ear LOBES broke out. I have always been sensitive to ingested biotin, being one of the unlucky few that gets terrible breakouts, but I thought using it topically might have a different reaction. And honestly, I’m not sure that it was even the biotin. All I know is the one con seriously outweighed all the pros I encountered. It gets two stars because I respected the ingredients, was reasonably priced, and actually did leave my hair feeling great. I sadly could not use it long enough to attest to the growth stimulation.
This shampoo and conditioner is amazing and making changes to my hair. I wash it twice, once to get the dirt etc, out then again so the shampoo can do its job also once a month i leave conditioner in for 20 mins with shower cap on for a deep treatment only been using a few weeks and hair transforming. In mature years so many changes to the hair but this product is solving a lot of problems especially thining due to less hormones. A permanent fixture in my cupboard. Expensive? yes of course!!! if you want the best you have to pay for it same as eveything in life "you only get what you pay for".

I gave this a try on three separate wash days and it made my hair feel gross! My hair and scalp are dry, so I was surprised this made my hair feel greasy. I used about 1 full pipette over my whole scalp. I've used other scalp serums with no issue, this was on sale making it cheaper than the one I was using so I bought it. I can't speak to its long term effects but there is no way I could use it for the 8 Wks. The pipette will only fill about 1/2 way. Just about finished my 1st bottle, and recently received the 2nd bottle. I've been using every night (give or take a night missed here n there). Not seeing much of a change, so hoping after getting through the 2nd bottle, I will be pleasantly surprised, as I so want this to work. I received this product for free from Influenster and Dr. Berg Haircare in exchange for my honest review of the product. I tried using the product several times, alternating how much of the serum I used each time. I did not like the feeling of the serum in my hair, and it seemed difficult to get wash out. The serum felt very oily and greasy feeling while in my hair and it took several washes to get it out. The instructions say to massage it into your scalp for 10-15 minutes. I’m not sure about others, but there was no way I was going to spend 10-15 minutes massaging it in. I have used other serums and never had to massage it in for that long. Okay so first off, the directions are a bit of a turn off. Massage it for 10-15 mins on your scalp? That’s a long time. I did maybe 3 and that was enough for me. Next the scent, not my favorite but bearable. The feel, well…. It’s oil so I expected it to feel oily but this coated my skin and I had to wash my hands twice pretty thoroughly and they still felt a bit oily afterwards. Didn’t really sink in, just sits on top. I love this. My daughter's curls are 3a-c. Sometimes when doing my daughter's hair, especially when combing to braid up/or for braids, it can get very dry during the process. A little bit of this oil, not much at all, just a pea sized amount, helped tremendously! I will ALWAYS choose this over unnatural, synthetic, over fake fragranced oils! There are so many fake, silicone, paraben filled products, parabens are not good for you. I feel confident choosing this. I love this oil so much, I am leaving my other "moisture" brand. Usually when i braid my daughter's hair, she has an itchy scalp before the end of the night, even after using dandruff shampoo and leave in. So far she has had no itching for 24 hours. I suggest while braiding the hair, look for the flakey spots after washing well, then add dime sized amounts to the spot. Me? I added while combing, then added some over the braids. Braids can look dry sometimes, lackluster, and this oil I think would be great for that. I am caucasian, my daughter is biracial, and I have been doing her hair for 13 years. I know good product when I feel it. This is a great oil for braid days when you want to protect the hair and let that oil soak up! You gotta try it. I had a hair emergency….I was using head and shoulders for awhile for my dandruff and I was experiencing extreme fall out and scalp sores. It just hit me like IM BALDING okay so I had to do something different. I switched to jack black shampoo and conditioner which is great and using this as well. Very happy with the ingredients, texture and smell. I would not advise using this every day prior to styling your hair because it is mostly comprised of oil. It is going to be greasy so what I found effective is applying it with grow gorgeous hair density serum to the scalp. I mix them together and massage my scalp for a minute. Then I take about a nickel size of this oil by itself all the way down thru the rest of the hair brushing from scalp to tip. If you are curly or wavy you obviously can leave out the brushing part and rely on your hands to evenly distribute the product. I put it up in a bun overnight and wash in the morning. I do this twice a week the night before I wash and condition my hair. I do a double wash to ensure I rinse out all the oil. I learned the hard way the first time. I've only been doing this for a couple months but my hair feels and styles nicely afterward so I'll continue on. I have fine stranded medium to thick density hair. Hello everyone. I came across this product. I mean I was constantly looking for a mild chemical free shampoo as I was facing a postpartum hair fall. I fortunately came across the Tree To Tub. Soapberry shampoo. I also read its contents, and I thought why not? I give this a try and uh it's amazing. It's not only gentle, it's also paraben sulfate uh silicon free, which is required for the water today. I’m always trying out clean products, so I took a chance on this set for my hair and I’m glad I did. Keep in mind that if you are currently using regular stuff from the grocery store, your hair will have to detox for you to feel the effects of a clean natural shampoo. On my third wash my hair was clean, shiny and moisturized without leave-in products. I confidently use this on my kids too. I wish the bottle was bigger for the price, though. I'm very impressed with the ingredients in this shampoo and pleasantly surprised at how well it works. Many years ago I was on the hunt for body care items that were fragrance and dye free to address some health issues I was experiencing. Back then (about 10 years ago) it was not easy to find these items and even more difficult to find any that worked as well as "regular" products. I wish this had been available back then! It smells wonderful and lathers just as well as any other shampoo. I have extremely sensitive skin and found this product didn't cause any issues. My hair looked great, felt fantastic, and did I mention I loved the smell? The only downside (for me) is that even though I only wash my hair 1-2 times per week the cost is a bit high for my budget. I was confused when I received the bottle, and it didn't read "DHT Blocker" on the label. However, the new updated label says "blocker"; the old one (as shown in my photo) doesn't. Still, this shampoo does NOT contain DHT in the ingredients. I went to their website and did a little digging, and that is what I discovered. Hopefully this helps clear the confusion for others. I'll start off by saying that this could possibly be a 5star product. I'm a 50 year old guy and am fairly active and in average shape. About 6 months ago, I started to really notice my hair thinning on the crown and hairline receding. I decided to take action and started researching various natural approaches. So I came up with a plan with 4 parts. I started taking 20-25 grams of Collagen Daily and supplementing with Biotin and Saw Palmetto. The fourth part of the plan was to try the Shiny Leaf DHT shampoo and conditioner. The great news is that it has had a marked improvement in my hair and has definitely started to regrow hair that I thought was long gone. In fact, my hairline is growing back in where it was in my late 20's and early 30's. I'm truly blown away by the results. The not so great news is that I implemented all 4 parts of my plan at once and so I have no way of knowing which parts made the biggest impact or if it really was the combination of them all that worked so well. At this point, my feeling is that it's working very well and I'm not going to change anything. I will say that my suspicion is that the Collagen is the star component of my 4 part plan because I noticed very quickly (like 1 week or so) that my muscles and joints felt great. Sort of like WD-40 for your knees. Really cool! I do believe this shampoo and conditioner contributed to my overall success but it is a topical application which I'm not sure is as effective as the other 3 parts which were all ingestible.Chris D.
I have received both the DHT shampoo, and Biotin conditioner. These products work very well together. The shampoo leaves my hair looking and feeling very clean and shiny, and my scalp feeling light and uncluttered. I seem to be seeing less hairs in the drain so far and will continue to use and buy the shampoo. Only been using it about a month, so, don't know yet about regrowth, but I've stopped getting handfuls and brushfuls of hair. Makes it feel fuller, as well. The shampoo is very concentrated, doesn't take a lot, but the conditioner tends to be lacking. Takes a lot of product, and it doesn't feel that "conditioned", but I'm going to keep on track until I find out if there is regrowth or not. My hair had been thinning for some time and, after my first use of this product along with the same brand/line’s conditioner I saw a noticeable difference in how thick my hair looked. Unfortunately I did not take any photos of my hair at the start of product use — I wish I had! — and so I can’t speak to whether my hair looks thicker because hair grew or because this product just makes hair appear so. In any case, my hair looks and feels great since using this product line (almost a month, now): thicker, definitely softer, less frizz, and it smells amazingly. This was such a fun campaign to be in! There were FOUR full sized products that I got to try. I definitely felt I got a good sense of each product before writing my review. With that being said though, I honestly was not a fan of the shampoo. It’s not necessarily the product’s fault though because unless it was formulated for a dry scalp, there was no way I was going to be able use this long term. My hair didn’t feel drier the few of times I used this, but it also didn’t feel more moisturized either. It did look like it had a tad more volume, but that was probably in combination with the other products. It did smell really good (reminded me of a Bath and Body Works lotion. Couldn’t pinpoint which one) and the scent lasted for a couple days actually, but unless you have a normal scalp with hair that doesn’t require too much hydration, I would recommend sticking to your regular shampoo.christina.l
I’m super bummed about this shampoo. I read so many great reviews, and I found it at Walmart for a great price. So here we go — pros: it smells ANAZING. Like, super good. It kinda reminds me of Bath and Body Works sweet pea scent. And it’s sulfate free! Cons: It made my hair feel INCREDIBLY dry on the ends. Bad. And that was after the conditioner (plus rinsing with cold water). It also left a weird crunchy residue feeling on the top part of my hair, too. I made sure to rinse it all off as well, but it felt super weird on top when it started to dry. I’ll maybe use it one or two more times and then throw out the bottle. This product could work for you, though. I’ve read more good reviews than bad. I just personally haven’t had a good experience with it. Like, my hair was practically SCREAMING for hydration after using this product. I have very fine hair but a lot of it, and I’m just saying — my hair felt healthier after bleaching it awhile back than it did after using this shampoo + conditioner. I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I will repeat purchase, as this shampoo does strengthen & restore my hair due effective natural components: Jamaican Black Castor oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter & Peppermint. It's sulfate-free, eligible for colored hair, by the way. The scent is really extremely pleasant like parfume for hair. My man loves the aroma & makes compliments. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. Great stuff, great product… definitely noticed the difference since I didn't buy, ran out of product after. I bought off Amazon (a little overpriced with them) to present. Since I came back on it (and should never have got lazy) the initial reaction to my scalp was as expected… dead hair strands came out during the wash and scalp did the itchy dance and already has that fuller 'my hairs growing' feeling. The watermans products did make my hair feel soft and manageable. However I unfortunately didn't see much hair growth, and my thinning hasn't stopped. I have used the products for 5 months without results. I think it's time to try something else. A lot of other reviews suggest it does get results, and overall my hair does feel healthier so I would say its worth a shot, but unfortunately not the miracle I was looking forBreanna H.

Mother's father was bald by age 30. I was headed there myself until I started using this shampoo. My hair stopped falling out and my hairline seems to be holding. I love this. My daughter's curls are 3a-c. Sometimes when doing my daughter's hair, especially when combing to braid up/or for braids, it can get very dry during the process. A little bit of this oil, not much at all, just a pea sized amount, helped tremendously! I will ALWAYS choose this over unnatural, synthetic, over fake fragranced oils! There are so many fake, silicone, paraben filled products, parabens are not good for you. I feel confident choosing this. I love this oil so much, I am leaving my other "moisture" brand. Usually when i braid my daughter's hair, she has an itchy scalp before the end of the night, even after using dandruff shampoo and leave in. So far she has had no itching for 24 hours. I suggest while braiding the hair, look for the flakey spots after washing well, then add dime sized amounts to the spot. Me? I added while combing, then added some over the braids. Braids can look dry sometimes, lackluster, and this oil I think would be great for that. I am caucasian, my daughter is biracial, and I have been doing her hair for 13 years. I know good product when I feel it. This is a great oil for braid days when you want to protect the hair and let that oil soak up! You gotta try it. For a washngo apply your leave in, gel/cream, air dry, then add this oil with praying hands to fight humidity!Brrr
I had a hair emergency….I was using head and shoulders for awhile for my dandruff and I was experiencing extreme fall out and scalp sores. It just hit me like IM BALDING okay so I had to do something different. I switched to jack black shampoo and conditioner which is great and using this as well. I notice a huge difference in just 2-3 months no more sores and its filling out too you can see tiny hairs just sticking up and it looks crazy but I know its new growth so I am beyond happy. Very happy with the ingredients, texture and smell. I would not advise using this every day prior to styling your hair because it is mostly comprised of oil. It is going to be greasy so what I found effective is applying it with grow gorgeous hair density serum to the scalp. I mix them together and massage my scalp for a minute. Then I take about a nickel size of this oil by itself all the way down thru the rest of the hair brushing from scalp to tip. If you are curly or wavy you obviously can leave out the brushing part and rely on your hands to evenly distribute the product. I put it up in a bun overnight and wash in the morning. I do this twice a week the night before I wash and condition my hair. I do a double wash to ensure I rinse out all the oil. I learned the hard way the first time. I've only been doing this for a couple months but my hair feels and styles nicely afterward so I'll continue on. I have fine stranded medium to thick density hair. I've dreamed of a super thick pony but I'm thankful for having a lot of hair albeit baby fine.Product Lover
